Royal City was truly a beautiful place, at least to someone that had not grown up there or ever visited there before. Elle had been wandering the city, doing odd jobs here and there, while also taking in the sights that were around. Today he was outside of the massive structure that was the Church of Clover. She wanted to go in and look around, but her own faith was so low that she felt she would erupt into flames if she did so. Rather than do that she would simply watch people go buy as she admired it from where she stood.
The day was calm, the whether nice, but she still felt sad. Her own thoughts, even in this nice place, were not friendly or safe for her. She was dressed the same as usual, passing off for a male and even using stances and mannerisms of a male. It was pretty easy to do, she had been spoken to by a lot of them before she had decided she wanted to be one of them. For now she would stay standing, roaming about and seeing if anything else would strike her eye as she did so. There was a lot to sight see, even if internally she was not having fun.
A visit to the royal capital was inevitable. She told herself this over and over, but it didn't make the long haired vixen any less grumpy. Though wearing a neutral expression outwardly, the source of her agitation lied in the sheer difference of life between this and the common region whence she came from. Many nobles and middle class folk were going about their day without so much a worry on their face. Food was plentiful, life largely undisturbed by the events transpired months ago. It was merely a distant memory to the masses. Whether they were rejecting the truth or simply moved on, she couldn't help but feel disgusted somewhat. Not at them, since the people of the royal city largely have not wronged her personally. No, the peace that permeated the streets simply reminded Bryn of her own weakness. One that struck a chord of being unable to personally deal with the likely fact she had lost her family during the devil's coming.
Her family, in service of the Magic Knights, did not return from their calling. No squad would see a commoner over a trivial task or the ones that would, the individual who had the knowledge was off on an extended mission. The cycle was a weary one, wrought with disappointment and questions unanswered. Rather than wallow in self-pity, these past months had been filled with restoring the faith and livelihood of various sectors in the kingdom. Especially those hit rather hard. Her reason for being in the capital was an extension of this effort, as she accepted a job to deliver some orders to request new scriptures from the main branch of the Church. Hage was making do with dusty copies, but the influx of orphans and injured placed a heavy toll on their supplies as it was. Bryn was told to visit the archives first and see if they had extra literature for the father of the abbey to use in classes. She had failed to get a meeting with the royal records archive that morning, so Bryn decided to take a look at what hand-me-downs the main Church had. Thinking about the archives again, perhaps she could make a detour to the records department and ask about her family? The thought scared her, but it would be an opportune moment.
Going further, the woman felt a bump on her chest and staggered a step back or so. Looking towards where her absentmindedness guided her, Bryn saw she ran into a...boy? They stood and held themselves as such, but this individual had very soft features. This person didn't look that much younger than herself actually but avoided the effects of puberty? Better to be safe than sorry.
"Sorry bout that! Was lost in my thoughts. You taking in the sights or something...ser?" she asked with a slight twinge at the end.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It had been a crazy few weeks for Lydia with all the missions and paperwork she had to do which had gave her very little time to herself. However she was finally able to today and she figured she'd visit her brother at the church she thought he was working at since they'd hadn't spoken since the pink haired mage have him the light sword she made. It wasn't that she disliked her twin brother the two of them just lived very busy lives and even been in the same city as each other it was still hard to find time to speak with one and other. Grabbing her sword and mantle Lydia would make her way out of the base. It wasn't to long of a walk and Lydia could have gotten there faster given her speed but if the citizens saw someone of her rank running towards the church they might think the place was burning down. After a few minutes of walking she would reach the church it felt strange being back at the place not because she'd lost her faith or anything her life had just been so busy since becoming a magic knight. She found herself just standing there half hoping that Augustus would have been outside. Instead one of the sister met Lydia instead. [break][break] "Well if it isn't Lydia Ravencrest I haven't saw you here in a while is there something I can help you with.? I was just here to visit my brother. Is Augustus here? "No he's a priest at the church and Raque now." Lydia would bite her lip before thanking the women before taking her leave. However she would stop as she past two other mages who looked to be standing outside the church. If the two of you need any help I'm sure the sister can help you.

Augustus had finally decided to take some time away from his own research, and his own personal errands, to bring the orphans of Raque’s orphanage for a field trip. The children had never seen the Royal Capital, and as part of the Upper Nobility, Augustus had a fondness over the Royal Capital and its splendor. So, with gusto, the newly minted Priest of Raque took the group of ten children on a field trip, having chartered a chariot for them that had dropped them off of the Royal Capital Church, where he had wanted to visit Priestess Sierra first and foremost. [break][break]
As they arrived, Augustus opened the door and let the squealing children out, their excited cheers causing a small ruckus, though nothing Augustus’ charming smile could not wave away. He did a head count, before clapping his hands together.
[break][break] “Children! As promised, the Royal Capital!” [break][break]
The children all cheered as they found themselves enamoured with the large buildings all around them. Raque was a rich city, but the Royal Capital was on a league of its own. Splendour was all around them, boasting the riches of the nobility, and the upper middle-class merchants. There was Yul to spare, and it showed. [break][break]
It was then than Augustus turned to find two familiar faces. [break][break] “Lydia!” He would call out as he waved towards his twin sister. Well, fraternal twin that is. He then turned to the other woman he recognized. “And is that Bryn?” He smiled, before bringing the children, herding them towards the seemingly small group that could be found just outside the Church of the Royal Capital. [break][break]
“Children, this is Lydia Ravencrest, the Vice Captain of the Crimson Lions, and my sister.” He gestured towards his own sister, to the amazed and star-struck looks of the orphans. “And this is Miss Bryn, an acquaintance of mine. A powerful woman in her own right.” Augustus chuckled, before turning to the last of the group of three, “Though I cannot say I have met you, good sir.” He bowed slightly, a sign of courtesy, “Augustus Ravencrest,” he introduced, before asking the question that had been nagging at him. “So, what brings you all here?”

As she stood there, lost in her own thoughts she would feel a bump against her that would drag her our of that pit of despair and bring her face to face with a pretty girl that was apologizing for something she had been doing as well. "S-Sorry, I was lost in thought myself and just lost myself in the sightseeing." Out of habit, whether her own or of the practiced guise she wore was unknown, eyes would move up and down the girl before she would clear her throat to speak again in the practiced voice she always used nowadays. "I was debating if I wanted to go in and look around as well, or if I should just keep going." Before much else could be said, another would join in on the two. Both of the girls were taller than her, but both were beautiful as well. What was this, some kind of pretty trap that would cause her brain to melt as more and more girls surrounded her?
This woman would talk to them after exiting the church, mentioning to them that if they needed help that a sister could help them. Almost immediately after, another group would arrive. This time it was a bunch of cheering children that were being shown the Royal Capital by a man that seemed to be taking them on a field trip to this very city. Oddly enough, the man would approach and recognize the two girls that were around her, saying their names and introducing them to the kids as he did so. After that he would introduce himself to her and ask them all while they were here. "A pleasure to meet all three of you, I'm Elliot Woodcock. I was out here sightseeing and just happened to be here at the right time as the two lovely ladies." He would return the slight bow made by Augustus Ravencrest as he responded. What a day, meeting three people that all knew each other at the same time.
Bryn raised an eyebrow at the strange pitch change the young 'man' just went through after realizing they weren't alone anymore. She knew of some guys who were striking the feminine lines more so than what was typically expected of them. They too added a bit of a lighter flair to the voice and mannerisms, but it seemed like this individual did the exact opposite. The way they scanned her while trying to compose themselves and the shift to a very suave take struck her more so as a facade than who they actually were. In fact, it sort of irritated her. Bryn didn't mind either way those who carried themselves as a white knight type. If anything, it was refreshing to have someone with manners over a vulgar bandit sort.
Still not fully convinced of this individual's motives, Bryn responded neutrally since she didn't want to stir the pot, "Uh don't worry about it. It was my fault for bumping into you."
She was about to offer a suggestion to go in and check out the unique architecture of the Capital's main cathedral when someone else interjected. Or more like some people, as the fighter realized new figures came into view with. The fir lined mantle and a deep red coat. One she met personally delivering a love letter. An event that Bryn had to admit, was far more eventful than any sort of delivery ought to be. The other, almost any recruit aspiring to join the Magic Knights should know her name. Vice-captain of the Crimson Lions, Lydia Ravencrest. Augustus being related to her should have led to a bigger surprise, but at this point their conversations sort of hinted at this. Bryn internally cursed for not putting two and two together herself actually. This called for a jab at Augustus's integrity.
"You're going to introduce me as a powerful woman right after one of the most prestigious females in the Kingdom? And she's your sister? I don't know whether I ought to be flattered or take it as a sleight from you. Given your choice to favor pretty words, don't you think you're skipping a few steps before introducing me to your family?" smirked the ravenette, giving off the air of playing at something.
Offering a handshake to Lydia and by extension Elliot, she introduced herself, "I'm Bryn Halcyon. Your brother is rather 'devoted' and 'talented' in spreading the teachings of the church to the good people of the Kingdom Ms. Ravencrest."
A mischievous glint sparkled in her ruby eyes when she momentarily glanced over at Augustus. Bryn had no intent of outing the lengths her brother was willing to go for a stranger doing an errand, as that would no doubt cause unwanted trouble for his position. She also didn't want to come off as someone trying to blackmail a nobleman. Backstabbers and curs who did such heinous acts often did so with selfish intentions or out of desperation. Not that the Ravencrest family couldn't provide something of worth for Bryn, but Augustus was an upright sort of fellow. Nothing beyond a bit of teasing was needed.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia was getting ready to leave after giving the small tip after all the person who she came to visit wasn't there. However that would all change as she heard a voice call out to her one that belonged to her brother. the vice captain would turn to look at him taking note of the ten children he had with him. He would of course tell all of them just who she was before telling them who she and the other women were. The kids would then of course crowd Lydia as it wasn't everyday someone got to meet a vice captain. The pink haired mage would listen as Bryn spoke to her brother she was unsure if the raven haired women was teasing her brother or there was something more going on between the two of them. Not that it mattered to Lydia as her brother was free to see and sleep with whoever he wished so long as they weren't a Silva. Well brother I actually came to visit you only to find out you weren't here. Oh what's this you don't have your sword with you just imagine what father would say. Lydia would then shake Bryn's hand. You can just call me Lydia and sure comparing yourself to me it might not seem like you are powerful but I'm sure you still are after all if I compared myself to the hero of old even I'd look like a child. It seems you are just starting your story one can't compare there start with someone else who's been going for a while. As for the whole devoted part it tends to run in the family.

Augustus would smile at all three of them.[break][break]
“Well, the Church here in the Royal Capital is a wonder to behold. You came to the right place if you wanted to sight-see!” He would grin at the young man, “It is filled with pieces that were created by famous artists devoted to the church.” Augustus knew that the Church of Clover spared little money to decorate the church here in the Royal Capital. After all, it was one of the centerpieces of the Clover Kingdom, after all.[break][break]
He turned towards Bryn now, laughing out loud, “Well, you were able to handle yourself in that mission well, after all!” Augustus would shake his head, “There is little doubt that you have power within you. Whether or not you decide to use it is on you.” Even Augustus knew this. There was potential within him, and he knew that for a fact. But it was only recently that he was able to start fully utilizing and honing it. One day, he would be able to reach his full potential. One day.[break][break]
“Ah, Lydia. Well, you see…” Augustus heard her sister’s comment, and scratched the back of his head, “It’s a field trip, so I did not want to be lugging around the sword. Useful as it is, I might add!” He would grin, and felt the urge to tell his sister about his exploits, before realizing that there were children around. “I should tell you about them one day, hey?”[break][break]
Looking up, he realized that it was noon. Or was it just after? He could never be sure with the towering spires of the Royal Capital. [break][break]
“Anyway, we’re all here to visit. I am sure the Priestess Sierra would not mind three more people to feed, if you don’t mind joining us?” Augustus offered, pointing towards the church’s double doors. “The cooks are great, I promise.” He grinned, hoping they all took the invitation.

The other three that had shown up would speak a bit more with each other, two being siblings and the other knowing Augustus from what sounded like a mission or something they had done together or he had known about. Not long after the man that was part of the Church of Clover would invite them to come on in with him. He said that the Priestess would be fine with them going in and eating with them on top of all of it as well. Well, Elliot had been worried about going in and bursting into flames. Would that not be the case since she was not being invited in? That was how it worked, right? Well, she guessed she would be finding out the hard way.
"It would be my pleasure to come in and check out the church. Thank you for the offer of food as well, but they don't have to worry about that. I'm sure there are others that need the food more than I do." She would accept the offer, but she really was not too hungry. Hopefully it wasn't some kind of faux pas that she was doing here. She really was not very good when it came to dealing with people of the stature that were before her right now!
The temptation of food was surely there. When you roam around as much as Bryn did, saying no to a meal was a sure fire way to invite trouble later. Still, she could see that the discussions were going nowhere quick and Bryn's list of errands on the day was far from complete. On the contrary, talks of a tour and small chatter likely meant this was going to be an extended excursion. One she was none too thrilled to partake, even if the opportunity to talk with Augustus and his sister was appealing. The other party member seemed friendly enough too, but didn't leave much of an impression on the pugilist. Perhaps that was just their character?
"The invitation to lunch is appealing, but I have to decline your offer Augustus. I'm losing daylight and still on the clock. Really, I am just visiting the main church to ask for spare books and education stuff for some of the abbeys in the country side. I mean no disrespect, but definitely taking a raincheck today!" she quickly apologized.
Taking off into the hallowed halls and parting to the left, Bryn waved her goodbyes respectfully to the three and allowed them to go about their day. Her satchel open and hoping that this trip would bear some fruit. Often, coming to the main branch was better than checking the smaller churches in the region. Main gets early access to newer materials and the older stock simply takes up space if not used. Thus came messengers like Bryn who could take some of it off the main branch's hands and put it to use in the smaller abbeys. She sighed when entering the room, as there were a lot of old books to carry and some small furniture. This was going to be two trips at least.
