In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

Artemis would get there just in time to see two spells hit the mana beasts that she had been tracking. Horrifyingly, the mana beasts then turned into children. Artemis herself would not wince nor say anything, but she extended her natural sensory out into the surrounding area, trying to find any more beasts that might have been missed. There was none, though the problem was, it could be a trick, a ruse. The Vice Captain would pause for a moment, before making her way slowly towards the ever growing group of people that had seemed to have made their way to this point.[break][break]
She would not say anything, only surveying the area. The people who had seemed to have boarded up their houses might be peering through their windows and doorframes. Artemis would not give them a second of thought, understanding that these people would have been scared. How could they not be? An eternal night had just come over their beloved city. And, while Artemis herself was well-known by the general population for her successes and title, she was not one of the prominent heroes that were constantly lauded. But, she would have to do for now.[break][break]
Then, there was that malevolent voice. Taunting. Malevolent. Evil. Artemis would listen, trying to find clues as to where and what she should be doing next. All daemons are the same in her eyes. Tainted. Unnatural. Yet they were a force to be reckoned with. [break][break]
“So…” She waited until all of everyone that she had sensed arriving would get to their spots. She would see Valo Stark of the Green Mantis. A Black Bulls members. And most likely three civilians. “This was the centrepoint, but for what…” She trailed off, before turning towards the children and checking them. While the danger had seemingly passed, she was unsure whether the children themselves had been cursed. Caution would not kill them. [break][break]
“Not dead yet.” She would turn to the closest house. Artemis knew that they had no time to spare. If this mana was what she thought it was, then it was most certainly a Daemon. Her encounter with Nebuchadnezzar within the bowels of the dungeon had been enough for the malevolent mana to be imprint itself on her memory. [break][break]
“Valo, as a Magic Knight, you are now tasked with this mission by your Vice Captain.” She would turn to Valo and nod, before turning to the Black Bulls Magic Knight. “You as well. The city is being laid siege upon by a Daemon. My guess is that communication in and out of the city is blocked. This means that we are on our own.” Artemis looked towards the sky, black, and an infinite void. “I need you both to secure the perimeter while we find help for these children. They are the future of the Clover Kingdom, and we must safeguard them first and foremost.” She would turn then towards the civilians. She was unsure why they were here in the first place. Artemis could sense their mana, and knew that they were no match for what was to come in the fight against the Daemon. And, they were not duty-bound to be here as well, unlike Valo and the Black Bulls Magic Knight. “Any help is appreciated. If you can heal them, that would be great. If not, let’s look for help, shall we?” Artemis would nod.[break][break]
She would then turn to Valo now, an idea popping up in her head. "Valo, where is the closest hospital? I know this is your town, so you might have a better layout of the place than I do." Artemis asked, "The child that is being held hostage is towards the East; at least, that is where my sensory is taking us. We are faced with a Daemon, so I half expect this to be a ruse of some sort." She would sigh now, her face turning a darker shade. "I hope that there is some form of clinic or hospital towards that way. We might be able to drop the children off before moving towards this mana signature."
The rest of the group would do whatever they wished. They could listen to the Vice Captain, or do their own thing. At the end of the day, Artemis knew that she would need to take her chances and find this mysterious child before they could be harmed, and then take the fight to the Daemon itself. With her Moonsong bow still held in her right hand, she would look up towards the sky once more. She knew what she needed to do.[break][break]
No matter the cost.

COMBAT SUMMARY
[attr="class","polluxscroll2"]
TL;DR
Artemis still has Moonsong. Her base speed is 20m/s, the spell adds 30m/s, making her run at a speed of 50m/s.
Name of Spell: Moonsong[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Physical Reinforcement[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 85 m/s | 115 m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: +30 m/s, Blinds[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Quick Shot, Full Blitz, Apex Predator[break] Description: A manifestation of a stronger mana, the bow is made to be the successor in power and speed of Aphrodite. The bow itself is made with water, though its wings are as sharp as a sword's blade. The bow is used in long ranged combat, the wings of the bow, however, can be used as pseudo blades. A manifestation of Artemis' mana, the string only shows when she makes a "pull-back" motion of drawing and aiming. This makes the bow into a pseudo double-bladed short spear when needed for close quarter combat. The bow itself can shoot more than one arrow, following ammo rules. The arrows can either pierce through enemies, or be used as an AOE attack by letting it burst in a shower of sharp dagger like water droplets, causing Grand level damage. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. The bow also increases the speed of the user.[break]

Genesis Fantôme
La Poste
Genesis had just arrived on the scene when the illusion was lifted and she beheld the gruesome sight. She had been chasing some sort of mana beast, yet it seemed like they were only an illusion—an illusion that masked six children, and three figures that stood near them. One had a familiar mana signature, and she jolted when she realized who it was. “Merde,” she muttered, momentarily overcome. Both by the horrific sight of the poor unfortunate souls in front of her, and also of the mages that had unleashed the damage themselves.
“How dare they...” Her grip on Chuchote tightened. She was referring to whatever was behind all this. Her ki had told her that something was off with those illusion-cloaked mana beasts, but she had not been able to see through them and see the innocent children. As she drew closer, the stench of burning flesh grew stronger, and one certain little boy caught her attention. His body was badly burned, but what really made Genesis wince was the damage on his face. The lower half of the poor boy’s face had been terribly damaged, from the nose down to his chin. Even with serious healing, his young face would no escape unblemished. It reminded her a little of herself, how she would also carry the scar across her eye for life.
The redhead had put her dagger away back in its sheath, and knelt down on the ground besides the boy. “Les cieux ont pitié. Heavens have mercy...” She murmured. Though she was not usually given in to emotions, her heart had went out to this particular little boy. His eyes were filled with pain, and it tugged at her heartstrings. Whatever happened, she had claimed this one as her responsibility. The gaping mouth moved, but even though she leaned her ear down, she could not make out the words. “Hush...don’t worry, petit garçon, I got you.”
Two fingers reached out to his neck, feeling his pulse. It was faint and unstable, but still there. There was hope for him yet. Thankfully, it seemed like most of the burns were on the front side of his legs and arms, so she dared to scoop the boy up. He seemed extremely young, and painfully light. She carefully stood back up, taking care not to jar the little boy in her arms and furthering his pain.
Crimson eyes caught sight of the mercenary. She could not read the expression on his face, but she could only imagine what it felt to hurt little children. As for the other two—they were strangers to her, but one of them had on a Magic Knight’s mantle. The other seemed to be a citizen much like herself, though she could not be quite sure of that. The latter could very well be a knight in disguise, and had not donned the tell-tale mantle.
She scanned her surroundings. Her vision was still limited, but there seemed to be a group of people now. Most importantly, she can now see the mage who wielded the light. It turned out to be some sort of bow, and emitted that light she had been following earlier. Her stature was impressive, and Genesis could instantly tell that she was someone important. It was not until the other female spoke that she realized who the vice captain was. Valo, whom she had met previously, had mentioned briefly about his squad’s vice captain, and she was now beholding the said person in the flesh. Speaking of which, she also caught a glimpse of the Green Mantis knight, and gave a nod of acknowledgement towards his direction, if he happened to catch it.
A voice spoke. Nay, it sounded like a legion of voices. It came from everywhere, and spoke of a certain child. It spoke in jest and in riddles, and the red-haired woman felt her blood boiling. So, whoever was controlling this city, he was toying with them, no? “Brûle en l’enfer! Burn in hell!” She hissed, not knowing just how fitting her words were. Who was this who dared play with innocent lives? A monster, truly. A twisted and manipulative demon that should be sent back to its fiery torture for an eternity and more!
However, as she was getting so worked up thinking about this unseen enemy, her grip had stiffened, and the child in her arms gave a whimper of pain. “Désolée.” She apologized, and relaxed her arms. Naturally, she turned to the vice captain. The latter seemed to have a plan, or at least an idea of what they were up against, and Genesis’ gut instincts told her that she could trust the woman.
A Daemon? She had grown up on the outskirts of the common region, but even she knew a little of those otherworldly disrupters. The light-wielding mage was speaking again, and Genesis strained to catch her words. Yes, the children were the future of Clover Kingdom, their safety came first. The child whimpered in her arms, and the shadow mage adjusted her hold. There were other children who had been hurt, but she was sure the other people in the gathering would take care of them. How she wished she could heal them.
Was it possible to have her vision drop? Apparently it could, as the darkness thickened even more and her vision was halved again. Not only that, her hearing seemed to have dropped. This oppressive force felt like something that could breed and multiply even in the presence of light. However, it did not frighten her. After all, where gloom and nightmares abound, there the shadow mage resided. She let a little bit of her shadow magic shroud the boy’s eyes, hoping to comfort him in shading more of his vision.
With only a quarter of her original vision and half of her hearing, she wondered how they could save the six injured and find the one child the daemon was speaking about. However, she was determined to save the little boy in her arms, and looked to the vice captain to lead them to the mentioned clinic or hospital on the east.
Notes & Stuff
- Recognized Hans and Valo, acknowledged Charles and Elliot - Picked up a little boy, one of the injured children - Looked to Artemis to lead the way - OOC regen +10 mana
“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
Success! The spells have hit their marks, evident by their dying screams. While Hans lowered his arm, he had heard the sound of another spell going off nearby. Looking in that direction, the merc noticed a familiar looking silver owl, and the person behind it. Charles, someone Hans had worked with previously on a job. It was nice to see that there was at least one ally here to take on this unknown danger, meaning there might be more. A reassured smirk developed on the dark mage's face, but it would immediately falter as he turned to look at the dead mana beasts once more.
In the place of the fallen mana beasts were...."C-children!?"
With widened eyes, Hans dropped his sword onto the ground as his body started to shake. "N-no, that's not...they were...were mana beasts...." The merc stepped off of his broom and trudged over to the bodies, desperately trying to make sure that his eyes weren't playing tricks on him. As he got closer, the grim reality continued to grow more apparent. "Oh....god..." Hans fell to his knees in front of one of the bodies, specifically one of the two he had struck down.
Tears started to slowly build up, something that hasn't happened in years. Despite falling into the questionable life of a mercenary, Hans swore to himself that he'd never harm a child, no matter what. Having a soft spot for children, Hans believed that they should never have to suffer, to never have deal with the things he had to while growing up. But unfortunately, they can't all be protected by the harshness of reality...this right here being a very good example.
"I-I...I did...this..." He was not blaming these illusions, nor whoever is responsible for them. Hans was the only one at fault here, or at least that's how he sees it. Lowering his head, Hans buried his face in his hands and his body started to shake more as tears slowly ran down his face. "I did this..." he started to repeat, his tone soft and broken, a complete contrast from his usual calm, distant self. He did not even notice the arrival of the other mages, and even though he could clearly hear the monster responsible for this speaking as well as feel their malevolent mana, Hans did not raise from his position. He felt truly pathetic....Maybe his father was right about him after all...
The water mage would then say something that finally got a reaction out of Hans. Her claim that the kids weren't dead yet was enough to make Hans raise his head a little and peek a teary eye out from between his fingers. Was she right? Are they truly not....dead?
Hans slowly moved his hands away from his face, revealing the watery mess, but he could care less about that now. He looked at one of the children closely as the blonde woman addressed the two magic knights. It was faint, but they were still breathing. He then took notice of a familiar redhead caring for one of the downed children. The man wanted to say something, but he felt like he didn't have the right to after all of this. His head slowly turned to the other female mage as she addressed him and the other two non-magic knights. She bore a mantle as well and clearly had the strongest mana among the group. He then looked back at the children and after a few seconds, nodded. "Yeah..." With some hesitance, Hans stretched his arms out, and carefully scooped one of the children into his arms. The kid moved a bit causing a bittersweet smile to form on Han's face. They were in great pain, but at least the children were still alive.
The merc walked back over to his broom and sword, putting the former on his back then lifting the latter up with his free arm as the blonde woman spoke more. Daemons? Hans has heard about these unholy beings, but never expected to find himself in the presence of one. Not only that, but apparently they are holding another child hostage? Why the children? Why did this...thing have to target them!? Coward, despicable coward...Hans was angry about this, clenching the hilt of his sword hard while he looked at the child he's holding in his arm. Evey ounce of Hans' body wants to just go and find this monster, and slice its head off, but even he knew that he can't go toe to toe with a Daemon. For now, he just wanted to get these children some help then find the abducted one, blinded by the possibility of it being a ruse. The merc let out a frustrated sigh and placed his sword back in its hilt, and lifted up another child with that free arm. Hopefully, the other magic knight would be able to point the group in the direction of a hospital...
Hans then went over to the ash mage with concern in his eyes. "Are you feeling alright?" The merc asked before turning to look at the other three downed children. "Do you think you can help us with...them?" the man said with a hint of desperation in his tone. He'd then look over at Charles, not knowing what state he'd be in, but imagine he wouldn't be doing so well either. "Or Charles, maybe you can use that owl spell to-" Before the merc could finish, everything started to grow...darker. Not only that, but the man's hearing lowered. With a light gasp, Hans looked around before gritting his teeth. "Bastard..." the man muttered. Things were just going to continue to get worse it seems....

Just as Elliot pulled out her sword the mana beasts would finally reach her limited vision. The time to defend herself was here, or so she thought! Just as she thought she would have to strike with her sword more people would appear to strike at the beasts. One would take out two of them, the shrieking making her flinch a bit with how loud it really was, and the rest would be taken down by the same thing that knocked her to the ground as well. It wasn't that it was so powerful, it was just the sudden hit from out of no where that dropped her to the ground. Getting up as quickly as possible, and dusting herself off, Elliot would make a frustrated growl at what could only be called friendly fire before looking over to see the kids that were around her and injured. Heart would skip for a moment upon realization that the mana beasts had really been an illusion and that these might have been scared children running to them for help but not knowing they were part of an illusion against those that could save them. Deep down she was not surprised, this world was full of terrible things and there really was no time to stop just because the bad guy in this scenario was using children to try and mess with them.
With the smell of burning flesh still in her nose she would begin to hear the sound of who was likely the one causing all of this start speaking to her, or all of them, it was hard to tell as it seemed to come from everywhere. He told them that a child was in danger, the gender as confused by him as Elliot's subconscious was about her own, and that they had to hurry to save the child if they did not want them to die. Of course they were hidden, which meant Elliot was useless for now on it, as now she had to deal with being unable to see even more while also being bad at sensory. "My sensory is not good, and this darkness is too thick for me to really see anything of note." The girl posing as a boy would speak everyone that had suddenly shown up, as it was clear some of them wanted to make a plan. "I can, however, stick with you guys and send out my golems to attack what you guys find. We should stay close, but not too close in case of attacks or traps with a decent amount of a blast to them. We all need to be ready to fight this Daemon when we reach him, so be careful." She had not known it was a Daemon originally, though one with a green mantis had quickly brought up that it was one which allowed her to say it with surety herself. If she had to she could give herself and another wings to help once they could see a bit better, and she could use her sword and golems to fight when it came down to it. Until then, however, she was basically a useless commoner among this group.

Valo Stark
"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
Recognizing his Vice Captains mana signature Valo started to run in her general direction, meeting up with Artemis was vital with everything that was going on. He knew she would be level headed and already had something figured out, if anything she was on her to deal with the problem outright. It hard to see with all the darkness around but eventually he saw her as clearly as he could, and stood just a few feet away from where she was. "Artemis..." he said trying to get her attention but his words came to a halt once he saw what had happened.
Multiple children burned severely the image left Valo shocked, his heart beating faster than ever before. "Children...kids...no." he said faintly slowly making his way towards the severely hurt children. He got down on his knees and gently touched one, children in his home burnt and hurt near death. If the young knight could cry he would, but instead of sadness a burning anger started to take over instead. He didn't see what had happened entirely but he didn't care, it wasn't that hard to figure out. Charles a member of the black bulls and another stranger with a sword the guilt on their faces made it clear to him who was responsible for this.
Valo's breathing got heavy, as he eyed the both of them. "You did this..." he said his voice full of anger. He was able to see the swordsmen was full of guilt but Valo did not care, he did not care for either one of them now. It was most likely a honest mistake, these powerful illusions could get the best of any of them. But Valo was so blinded with anger he didn't allow himself to see it this way. He stood up and looked at Charles the black bull member and said nothing only attempting to punch him right in the face with his right fist. If this connected he would look at Hans still clenching a tight fist, he was about to bring him up and punch him too but he stopped himself after really seeing the swordsman reaction. It looked like he was going to beat himself up over this, Valo unclenched his fist and walked back towards the children.
Then a haunting voice would come from all directions, taunting them but also giving them a bit of information. There was a child they had to save and they were running out of time. Not only that but the child's mana signature was also going to be hidden. The group could no longer waste time here they had to start moving and now. After the voice disappeared it got even darker making it harder to see, and now harder to hear. It was getting eerily quiet now, sounds becoming more mute. One could still hear but now it was harder to do so, luckily Valo was close enough to Artemis to hear her order.
"Understood Vice captain." he responded to Artemis's order this was now a complete mission that they had to complete, there was no room for failure. Artemis asked him where the nearest hospital was, it was dark and hard to see now but Valo grew up in Kikka his whole life. He's been to multiple houses, stores, jail cells and even hospitals. He still knew the general direction of nearest hospital. "It's east of here, so hopefully that should work out. We take the children to the hospital and follow that signature you got. It's the best plan we have yet." Valo said simply walking over to pick up one of the children softly. He didn't bother to look at Charles or the swordsmen again, he could care less for what they did now.
He took notice to Eliot and Genesis he was acquainted with them both, he noticed Eliot had taken a hit probably do to one of the others attacks. They seemed to be fine though for now luckily. Valo would not towards them both acknowledging them, but now was little time for conversation and introductions. They needed to make a plan and needed to make one now.

After successfully taking down the mana beasts Charles took a deep breath. The other mage who took down the other two was Hans who he managed to recognize afterward. At least there was someone he met before, he knew the Mercenary was a capable combatant and even had a four-leaf grimoire. The Black Bull then turned around to look at the bodies of mana beasts, just notice they didn't look like mana beasts anymore, but children. He was disturbed by the sight, but at first, he was convinced that it was just his brain messing around with him. His vision was reduced to half so this obviously made it hard for him to believe they were actually children. Of course, this will change as soon as he took a look closer out of curiosity. They were real children and looked badly injured. His entire body froze, it didn't take long for someone like Charles to come into the realization on he just did. "T-Those were..." His voice cracked, the silver mage took a moment and looked at his hands.
At this moment he wanted to cry, he felt regret and all sorts of emotions he never thought he will ever feel on his life. Even though he felt this way Charles didn't react at all. He was frozen, his brain was still trying to process what he just did, he was a state of shock. They looked like mana beasts, he was sure of that. Suddenly a thought came to his mind, recalling the previous events. Children agonizing as if they were being tortured, then being silenced. After that the appearance of mana beasts, that was coincidental, but it made sense. Why didn't he think about that earlier? That they were illusions? No there was no way for him to figure that out, his sensory was terrible. There was a weakness out of all of this, his inexperience and young age compared to the rest of the Magic Knights. His mind was getting filled with negative thoughts on what he did, he felt guilty. He had innocent blood on his hands, even if they were illusions this didn't change the fact about he just did.
Charles will then snap back to reality as he feels the punch from Valo. He saw it coming, normally he will react and attempt to dodge or block it, but right now the silver mage was in shock that he wasn't able to react until he felt the punch. There was no significant reaction from his part, even though he felt terrible about what he just did. The Black Bull wasn't even mad about the fact that he just got punched by Valo and believed it was a well-deserved punch. The reaction from the Green Mantis was justified.
As he was snapped out of his thoughts. He heard the voice of the Daemon that came from every direction of the town without being able to pinpoint it. Judging by his wording his entire objective was to play into his plan, which pissed him off. He still felt guilty over the fact that he injured a bunch of children, but he also played into his own little game. The black bull took the bait due to his inexperience and suffered for the benefit of the Daemon. The Vice-Captain of the Artemis will then talk to him about his duty as a Magic Knight. "Got it..." His response was delayed, he questioned if he truly deserved to be a Magic Knight. He injured a bunch of defenseless children even though they illusions, that didn't change the fact about what he just did.
Artemis asked Valo about the location of the Hospital to get the children in order for someone to heal them otherwise they will succumb to their wounds and die. Valo seemed to know the location of the hospital, but the Daemon knew they were injured. Thanks to Valo's previous punch Charles was able to get off of his brief moment of shock, even though he was still shaken about what just happened and the memory of him injuring those children will probably give him nightmares after this. "A hospital... That's a good idea, but... The silver mage clenched his fist. He fell into the trap of the Daemon before and this could very well be another trap from their part. "The Daemon knows these children are injured... So it's likely he expect us to go to the hospital in an attempt to trick us just like he did with me... The Daemon was playing mind games with them. He could very well just fight all of them right now, but it seemed like the Daemon will rather see the brave Magic Knights and citizens of the Clover Kingdom fall into desperation. In other cases, Charles will be able to come up with a decent plan, but the Black Bull was still shaken that he wasn't able to even come up with a proper plan.
Hans suggested taking some of the children using his transportation spell, but with his vision reduced to half, it was hard to see. His sensory was terrible and he just managed to encounter Hans due to timing from the Vice Captain's spell. Intervening and attacking those mana beasts his biggest regret, it was an honest mistake as nobody would've been to tell they were children, but this didn't change the events that just occurred.
Artemis would listen to Valo’s answer, before nodding. That would be the best way then, especially since from what Artemis could sense, it was on their way. She had been tempted to knock at one of the doors and have the citizens help their own, but she was not sure who to trust anymore. Not after how these children were illusioned to be mana beasts. [break][break]
Children. Artemis would shake her head. There was no time to spare. Her hawk-like instincts made sure that she responded like a veteran. There will be time to grieve later on. For now, they needed to act fast. She was most certain that this Daemon had something nefarious cooked up for the city of Kikka. It needed to be stopped.[break][break]
“Get yourselves together.” The Vice Captain would order out loud as her grimoire floated beside her. While she knew that she could trust her Ki senses, as well as her mastery in Sensory, she knew that the best way to go about this was to have some sort of mapping spell. It would make their lives easier, and their journey less bumpy. “This is a situation that needs all of our attention and effort. This Daemon is strong enough to capture a city; it is capable of so much more if not stopped.” She would shake her head. “Nebuchadnezzar was bad enough. This one is even worse.” That specific Daemon had been a thorn for both Artemis and Lydia. And from what she was seeing so far, this one might just be stronger than that one.[break][break]
“Get the children. If you have a means for transport, use them. Carry them if you have to.” She ordered Valo and Charles, getting them into gear. They could not afford to delay any longer. Artemis would then turn to the civilians, her cerulean blue eyes would shimmer as it reflected her grimoire’s own colourful aura, “I do not expect any of you to stay and help. You are not duty-bound to respond to this madness. But, any help is appreciated.” Her mana poured into the area, making her grimoire shine brighter. They needed a guide. A map.[break][break]
“The Captain’s Map.”[break][break]
Water droplets formed around a large swathe of area with Artemis at the epicentre. Then, a water made map appeared in front of the woman, detailing every nook and cranny of the large swathe of area, about three hundred and fifty five meters. Every single mana signature was pinpointed, at least those which are not hidden purposefully and could hide itself from Artemis’ sensory skills. Roads. Buildings. Everything would be laid bare at the three dimensional water-made map. [break][break]
Her grimoire would flip a few pages once more, before she would call out her next spell.[break][break] “War-maiden: Lady Sif”[break][break]
Water would coat Artemis as it changed her appearance into an angel-like figure. Her wings would be the most prominent feature, while her garbs turned into armor. She would stretch her wings for a moment, flexing them, before turning to the group. She would carry the children that might not have been picked up by the group.[break][break]
“I will lead. Please try to keep up. We cannot dally any longer.” Artemis knew that time was of the essence. While her speed was now topnotch, she knew that the others would most likely not be able to keep up.[break][break] “Stay alert. Most importantly, stay close. Panicking will do us nothing. We will drop these children off at the hospital, and then we will proceed to help the child-hostage.” She then turned Eastward, before leading the way with her map floating in front of her, guiding her path. Artemis would set an even pace, so that those behind her can follow her movements. She would not push her speeds to the limit. At least, not yet.
Artemis still has Moonsong and is now using The Captain's Map and War-maiden: Lady Sif. Her base speed is 100m/s. She is, however, keeping the pace of the group and not using her full speed.

Mana signatures are all located in the three dimensional map, while those hiding their presence using an illusion would follow the Tracking mechanics of Sensory vs Control of the one hiding. While the map itself is a representation of the surroundings, the true nature of the spell are the minuscule droplets of water that appears all around the area of effect. The droplets of water debuffs those caught in the area of effect, lowering their sensory stat, while it bypasses allies through ammo rules.[break][break]

Her whole appearance changes, hair turning into fully blonde, her clothes replaced by warrior-garb made of silk and iron, with the most prominent feature of the transformation being the two feather wings on her back. This transformation allows Artemis flight, and the combination of both Physical Reinforcement to the Transformation allows her to move at a faster speed than normal. Her flight speed is at-rank 40 m/s following Transformation rules. Growing 35 inches in size, Artemis is able to carry at maximum 5 people on her wings and back, though why she would do that, she did not know. Genesis had not known that Kikka was the home of the Green Mantis. At least, that was the impression she received, hearing the vice captain’s question to her fellow squad knight. The more she heard the water mage give out commands, the more impressed she became. Natural charisma and decisive leadership during difficult situations were things she looked up to, and the one standing in front of them certainly radiated those qualities.
Especially as the latter started a mapping spell.
Though her vision had been cut down considerably, the red-haired femme could still make out the glowing form of it. She jogged closer, trying to get a better look of it and the details it may contain. It was beautiful in its sophisticated layout, and stunningly intricate despite its grand spread. Just how far could this water mage reach? Genesis had no idea, and the display of power stirred something inside of her. She did not yet know what it was, but something had been awakened in the shadow mage.
Though it seemed like citizens were not duty-bound to help, she was determined to do so. In her mind currently, Magic Knights were only titles. Both knights and citizens should be doing the same thing—helping each other out through this crisis. Whether duty-bound or not, there really should not be a distinction in their similar actions. However, now was not the time to ponder on that.
At the command, Genesis nodded and started running. Then she stopped. Idiot. Flying would be so much easier and faster. Though she rarely used her Magic Broom, now seemed like a good time to use it. A very good time. She summoned it out of her grimoire, and glanced down at the child in her arms. "Can you sit up?" Assuming that the little boy’s slight head movement was a nod, the young woman carefully placed him in front of her on the hovering broom.
She kept one hand on the broom and the other firmly around her passenger. She would try to avoid applying pressure in the places where he had been burned, but it was likely that her arm hold on him would hurt him in some areas. Still, it was the only way of transport she could think of, and it would be much faster than just her running on the ground. Besides, time was of the essence, and every second counted. Especially when lives were at stake. Grey-green eyes looked down at the child she was carrying in her arms. She would make sure he continued living. She would make sure he had a second life after this—just like her. She would.
The magical broom carried her and the child up to the sky to join the transformed leader. She assumed that some of the others were also up there as well, perhaps with various types of flying constructs. For now, however, her attention was focused mainly on following the glowing figure in front of her and of the child’s condition. The little boy had not been making any more sounds, and she wondered if he, like her, was trying to suppress his pain and putting up a brave front. Whatever the reason, she just needed to make sure he stayed alive until they arrived at the hospital.
As they flew, Genesis chanced a look up at the sky. She could not see beyond the shadowy haze. The vision cut, though quite extreme, had not struck any chord of fear in the shadow mage. Rather, it only made the redhead more bold. A thought came to her, and ruby lips pursed as she pondered. Would the sky be clearer if we fly up higher?

“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
Hans nodded at the ash user's words. To the merc, it didn't matter how strong or weak someone was, especially in this instance. Despite never going up against a Daemon before, the dark mage could tell that any help was going to be needed to get through this madness alive.
Still with two of the children in each arm, Hans turned to look at the male mantis knight while he gave directions to the nearest hospital. So it seems he has grown up in this town which made sense, especially with how he reacted about the children. But in all honesty, Hans would've reacted the same way regardless of the location. If the man had gone through with punching Hans like he did Charles, the merc would not hold anything against him...It would've been well deserved.
The merc's attention went back to Charles as he spoke, and after he heard the end of his words, the man frowned a little and shook his head softly. "Us..." he added with eyes closed. "Just like he did with us." he said before opening his eyes to look at the young man then to the children in his arms. He didn't want the magic knight to carry this burden alone. After all, Hans was just as guilty no matter how many more the silver mage has harmed in comparison. "It could be a trap...but we don't have much of a choice." the merc sighed. "We're just going to have to play this daemon's "game" until we find an opening." he said with a weakened yet angry tone.
Hans now listened to the blonde magic knight as she gave out more orders and attempted to keep everything together. The merc had no idea who this woman is, but he could tell by her powerful mana and the way she's handling this situation that she has been through her fair share of trials. She appears to be very authoritative as well and has this strong will about her that one does not need sensory magic to see, and it seems like this wasn't her first rodeo with a Daemon either. The woman was right. Those who weren't bound by the order of the magic knights didn't have to respond to this, but after what that creature made Hans do...no, what Hans foolishly did on his own, he needed to help correct this, and make up for the sins he committed.
Hans nodded in compliance to the woman then his eyes widened a bit as he witnessed her make a map out of water. It was of the city or at least that's what Hans assumed since he couldn't see it that well because of the darkness. What the man was able to see better was the transformation magic the woman used! The woman had taken on the form of an angel with wings to boot, and on top of that she had grown as well! It was fortunate that the group had someone like her on their side...but that didn't mean that any of this was going to be easy, especially with what has happened so far.
With a quick glance, the dark mage noticed the red haired woman taking flight with her broom. For a second, Hans thought to do the same thing, but as one of the children weakly moved in his arms, the man remembered that he was currently holding two, and that unfortunately his broom wouldn't be capable of holding three people on it. He was going to have to keep pace with the others on foot. "It'll...It'll be fine..." he spoke to them in hushed tones....but in all honesty, he wasn't sure how any of this will turn out.

"Don't need a reason to seek strength."
After he told his Vice captain the general location of the nearest hospital he watched her get to work, just as he thought she would. Out of the group so far, Artemis was the most experienced and the strongest. Valo already viewed her as a leader she was his Vice Captain and it was only a matter of time before she was the captain of Green Mantis. If there a person who was going to lead this group it was going to be her, which made it easier for him.
Valo had one badly hurt child in his arms that he was ready to take to the hospital. He watched as Artemis activated her transformation spell, he hadn't seen this one yet. He figured there was a bunch of spells and abilities he didn't see her use that he might see for the first time today. She was not messing around, Valo would activate a spell of his own that would increase his speed. His speed wouldn't be able to come close to Artemis's but it was better than nothing. "Fureaakuseru V 2" he said as he activated his spell.
He followed behind his vice captain as she set the pace and the lead, while remaining careful enough to not trip over anything in the process.

The possibility of the hospital being a trap was there, the Daemon knew that they were going to go to the hospital. It sounded fishy, but the Daemon pushed them to a corner giving them no option. Charles still felt guilty about what just happened and felt responsible for what happened to those children. Even so, there was a chance for him to make up for his mistake, it wouldn't change the fact he injured his children, but at least he will be more at ease knowing he took the responsibility for it and they didn't end up dying. Hans was right, the Daemon tricked the two of them and he felt like the least he could do was to bring those children to the hospital so they could at least live.
Vice-Captain Artemis ordered him to transport the children if he counted with a transportation spell. In this case, he did have one. "Silver Magic: Silver Owl. The black bull looked at his grimoire and created a silver owl. His transportation spell allowed him to transport two of the children that had been injured. Charles picked up two of the injured children and gently placed them down on top of the owl. The burned bodies of the children made him feel guilty as those burns looked pretty bad. The only chance to save those children from a possible death was to bring them to the hospital as soon as possible. The silver mage sat down on top of the silver owl making sure the children were in a comfortable position. He was going to fly keeping the pace with the people on the ground. He couldn't risk flying at full speed there was a high chance he could hit a building due to his vision reduced to half. The possibility of them getting tricked or even attacked on their way to the hospital was high. It was obvious he wasn't just going to allow them to go around the town without putting any resistance unless he wanted them to.
The owl took off carrying the two children on it, keeping a low attitude to keep up with the group below. While Charles tried to look at his surroundings with the little vision he had. He was frustrated about what he just did, this will probably change him for the rest of his life. The horrifying scene of accidentally hitting those children flashed his mind every once in a while. Now he just hoped the hospital was in the right direction, he didn't know how much time those children had with their injuries...
Name of Spell: Silver Owl Elemental Type: Silver with Lightning Oddity Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate | Supplementary Construct, Transportation Range & Speed: 3 passengers | 15 m/s Mana Cost: 20 | 10 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: N/A Description: Charles creates an owl made out of silver big enough to carry 3 people. The silver owl is capable of flying which is used for quick and long distance transportation.
Notes: Charles used his transportation spell and created a silver owl to carry the children to the hospital. Following behind Vice-Captain Artemis.
Sven sat on his 'throne' within the church he currently called his home, it would do until he could get the enslaved townsfolk to build him a giant palace worthy of someone of his status but that was an afterthought for now as he was having too much thought as he was playing with his new toys to worry about where he would be staying after they either yielded or were destroyed either one fit his plans in the grand scheme of things so he really didn't care about the outcome of this little skirmish if they were destroyed more toys would be sent in there place. The mortals of the universe were numerous and stupid in his opinion but they were entertaining and could keep him amused until the universe met its end so longs the rest of his kind didn't get overzealous and kill them all. That would not make the trickster all that happy and he would contently start a civil war over it. After all, they were all supposed to share domain; who was he kidding they were daemon they would try and screw each over at any chance then faine ignorance when the plan went south only to attempt to screw the other over again at the earliest sign of a weakness or crack that they could exploit even if it meant making an alliance with another of their kin briefly before trying to backstab them to claim the whole reward for themselves and if it failed... well... at least you had a scapegoat you could throw under the carriage and watch them be annihilated and you still were one troublesome burden down.
He had been watching quietly using the shadows as eyes and ears, his mouth turned into a twisted smile of delight as his illusion dropped and what they had really attacked came to light. Six innocent children. These children were nothing more than scared and lost in the darkness so moved in a group to the closest voice in the hopes they could get them somewhere safe. They, it seemed were in for a nasty shock as the two youngest around the ages of three were hit by Hans and the other four ranging between four and six were hit by Charles. The archdaemon knew that both men would be found guilty in the court of public opinion but that it would be Charles that would get it the worst from the two though the other had hit the younger children all because of the mantle he wore. People where fickle things and few cared for the details or the situation all they would see was a magic knight almost killing four innocent children. That was a long game thing however in case he failed as he made sure that those in the nearby houses got a clear view of what happened without the illusions being on the children. He wanted to make sure even if he failed to the toys he was currently playing with that there would still be consequences for the knights and that they all would have as many mental scars on top of the whole thing. Yes, he was prideful but he was far from stupid and knew that even one misstep in this game of chess could not only end the game but send him back to where he came from if not kill him so he was setting up a contingency plan just in case.
He, of course, laughed happily seeing how the two attackers took their folly and how one of the green mantis had taken the crime by striking his would-be ally in anger. It was clear the archdaemon was the one behind it but at the same time he had still lashed out against someone who was merely a pawn like himself in anger, frustration and despair. Yes, this was what he wanted to see. He wanted them to turn on each other, he wanted to see them argue and fight within their ranks making it so much easier for him at the end of the day as he would barely need to lift a finger to deal with them. It was then he noticed something he hadn't expected, however, not a single one of the toy soldiers had healing magic, he found it both kind of pathetic on their part to not come prepared for casualties but also amusing, more so as it seemed like the member of the Black Bulls had decided to use an aoe spell to take out the 'mana beasts' that were attacking the feeble Elliot and in doing so also hit the person he was trying to save in the first place "It seems everything we've heard about that magic knight squad are true" he chuckled to himself believing that the young male and his group would make great additions to his own forces given how they seem to have a back for destroying property and hurting people even if they were allies.
Soon enough he watched as the group picked up the near-dead children as they had come up with a plan and what Artemis had done, he knew that she was the biggest threat and annoyance to him as her sensory was far stronger than anyone else within that group thus would ruin his fun and he was dead set against that happening that was for sure. So he knew that he needed to level the playing board, of course, more in his favour as he wasn't about to play fair it just wasn't in his nature after all. As the group got to the hospital he moved through the shadows to wait at the steps for them to arrive, he bowed a little to the group "We shall call a truce for this moment." he stated looking to the hurt children "Such a pity but casualties are always a part of war and it is always the most innocent and defenceless that seem to pay the price don't you think?" he said covering his mouth seemingly genuinely upset at the children being hurt. "I know you want to attack, but, I wouldn't suggest it as if I get harmed in any way and can't communicate with the servant I brought with me then the town will pay a horrible price and you will have each death on your hands, given how you reacted when just six innocents were harmed could you really deal with that much blood soaking them? To the point they could never be clean again?" he said as he brought down his hand from his mouth knowing the answer to that question already. Yes, there was collateral damage in all battlefields and wars it was expected but when you were doing more damage to those you were trying to save than the enemy they would then at that point prefer the enemy he was pretty sure.
"So you know, I nor anyone in my command has harmed anyone in this city from when we took over until now, so you have already done more damage than I have, so, congratulations on that." he said slowly clapping his hands in a mocking manner "I ordered all citizen into their houses and not to give aid to you. This way they are safe unless you do something stupid." he said as his blood-red eyes turned to Charles and Hans with a knowing smile. "Now, to business as you still have a child to find..." he said his eyes going to Artemis as he could feel the mana rolling off of her as being the strongest "I will allow this hospital help those children and I will even help you where you are lacking but it comes at a cost as all things do in war..." he said moving forward to be face to face with the vice-captain "Are you willing to make a sacrifice? Are you willing to make a deal with a daemon for the safety of these children? How much are their lives worth at the end of the day?" he asked her with an amicable tone as if he was seeing her as an equal, as with every time he has spoken while in their presence he was being completely transparent, it would now all fall on Artemis what would happen next and he wanted to see what would happen next.
Story:
Sven had been watching the group and their interactions after they saw events unfold much to his amusement, and even make sure that those within nearby houses had a clear unfettered view of what happened. These people for that moment seen no darkness and saw the children for exactly what they were and that wasn't mana beasts. Sven is playing the long game and making sure that even if he does fail that the actions taken now will have consequences on those within the town going forward. The group have made it to the hospital but were met by someone they couldn't have ever imagined to meet so soon. Sven, the archdaemon that had claimed Kikka as part of his domain was found to be waiting for the group at the doors of the hospital. He has called a truce for this encounter and notified the party that if he was harmed it wouldn't end well for the town. He also told them that has not harmed anyone inside Kikka unlike them. He genuinely seemed hurt at the children's current conditions and gave a knowing smile to the pair who had done it. Making his way down he informed the six that every civilian were indoors to prevent them being injured and also to prevent them doing anything stupid as it would come with consequences no one wanted.
He told them that everyone has been told not to offer them aid but he was willing to allow the hospital to help the six badly injured children and he would even help the party within the game he was currently playing with them but at a price. The one that has been asked to sacrifice has been Artemis and he will not accept negotiations or take a substitute, also, remember you are on the clock not only for the lives of the six children currently in your care but one that has yet to be found. You have one more round to find the child... tick... tock...

Charles followed along with the group on top of his owl. The way to the hospital was peaceful, which could either be a good or bad thing for them. It was clear the Daemon had a clear sight on them. The Daemon had control of the entire town, he made him fall for illusions that made him believe a group of children were mana beasts and reduced their vision to half which made it hard to navigate. He eventually arrived at the hospital and gently landed in front of the hospital. The black bull was surprised by the sight in front of him. It was the Arch-Daemon that had taken over the town waiting for them. It was obvious to him who he was, the energy he emitted, his appearance and voice gave out who it was. The silver mage gently placed down the two injured children on the ground as him and the rest of the group were welcomed by the sight of the Daemon who to his surprise was being passive calling for a truce for a brief moment.
The young magic knight wasn't expecting the Daemon to show up directly, but the mere sight of him showing up made him want to attack him out of impulse, but he knew it wasn't a good idea. So he remained where he was for the time being. The Daemon began to talk about war and how innocents were always caught in the crossfire, clearly referring to how he injured those children by accident. It seemed ironic to him how he decided to take over a whole town and then say how war is tragic. He basically had the entire town hostage and he seemed strong enough to take out the entire town of a Kikka with just a simple spell. The Daemon even went as far as to mock him and Hans about injuring those children. He did that on purpose for his own enjoyment and made the two of them feel guilty about it and possibly put the others against them. This didn't change the fact that he injured those children and still felt extremely guilty about it, but he knew he had to at least try and regain some of his cool. The last thing Charles wanted was to give that Daemon the satisfaction of pissing him off. That was his clear objective and attacking out of impulse might just result in a worse outcome than the one before.
The Daemon offered to let the people in the hospital treat those children and he was even willing to help them with what they were lacking. That was an unexpected offer and seemed too good to believe its true from someone like a Daemon even if what he said had some trust. It was obvious there was a price to pay. Charles steadily looked at the Daemon until his eyes shifted to Artemis, this didn't surprise him. Artemis was the strongest out of all them, the Vice-Captain of the Green Mantis with incredible sensory abilities that were the weakness and possibly went against the Daemon's plans. Artemis in exchange for saving those children's lives the decision was up to the Vice-Captain. They were pushed into a corner and they still had a child to get.
As Charles was watching all of this. He looked at Vice-Captain Artemis briefly unknown on what she was going to do. The Vice-Captain handed him over the map she previously used to get all the way to the hospital. The map seemed odd to him, but Charles managed to figure out what it was. It gave the exact location of the child, but this only meant one thing to him. She was going to sacrifice herself to save those children. The Black Bull nodded as he gritted his teeth, if everything he should be the one getting sacrificed for doing that, not Artemis, but the Daemon was obviously going for the strongest. If she was going to sacrifice herself then the least he could do was make it worth it, if he could at least save that child, at least do something worth today even if it had to cost him a lot then he will do it...
"Got it..." The silver ring on Charles's finger began to glow, taking into consideration that the Daemon probably expected them to do that he had to be wary. The Daemon said he brought a servant with him so he had to be in the lookout. He didn't know if the rest were going to come with him, but didn't have the time to think about it either. The best thing he could be run as fast as he could to the location of the children and try to rescue him even if it had to pay for it. A lot of things were crossing through his mind. It was a possible trap, it could be another trip, this could result in the same thing all over again. Nonetheless, the Black Bull looked at the map every once in a while to make sure he is going in the right direction.

All thoughts of flying higher flew out her mind when they neared the hospital. Her grip still firmly around the little boy’s waist, the redhead arced into the circular descent, landing as softly as possible so she will not jar her injured passenger. As her feet touched the ground, she threw her broom back into her grimoire. He seemed all right for now, though his youthful face was twisted up in pain at his burns. Or what she assumed it was.
Then he puked.
Thankfully, he had lurched forward and only her hold on his waist had kept him from falling face first onto the ground. Her eyes widened and she looked around, not really knowing what to do. She had exactly zero experience with children. The young woman patted his back awkwardly as the poor boy threw up all over the ground...and all over her shoes. He must have been airsick while they were flying, but held it back until now. As the poor boy finished emptying his stomach’s contents, his head lulled back and she assumed he passed out.
Gen looked up, about to say something, but the words died on her lips as she beheld an imposing and terrifying figure. It was right on the steps to the hospital, blocking the front entrance. Her free hand hovered over Chuchote, ready to pull it out and use it if necessary. Her gut instincts told her that this was the one responsible for all these damages. This hellish creature...she had to bite down on her lower lip to keep herself from bursting into some very choice insults and curses. A bit too harshly. She could taste the blood now, and wiped it away with her arm, not caring if it was smeared all over her arm. That was the least of her worries.
Heck, he even had the audacity to bow at them! Who did he think he was, playing them around like chess pieces? Were they all just a game to him? His next words certainly seemed to confirm it, and even dared to show pity at the injured children. True, he was not the one who physically harmed them, but was the mastermind behind it. So those illusions and all these manipulations were his doing—and for some odd reason, Gen was lowkey impressed at the cleverness of it all. But mostly, she was infuriated, and if it were not for the passed-out child in her arms, she would have surely done something rash. Something rash like throwing her dagger at the daemon. Or using all her spells against him. Or killing him by her sheer will. Or something of that nature. If only looks could kill...
She would have done something foolish, indeed, if she had not seen what the vice captain was doing. She had handed the map over to one of the Magic Knights, and it seemed like she was going to sacrifice herself in exchange for the children to be attended to. Witnessing that selfless act was like dumping a bucket of ice cold water on her head. Her burning and fiery torrent of thoughts were quenched, and she was brought back to reality. No, she could not let her anger control her. So much was at stake, and she could not mess up and risk offending the daemon.
She resented not being in control. She absolutely despised it. But there was no going around it, at least none that she could see. Calm down, Gen. She took a deep breath. And another. You’ve lost already. Her old mentor had been big on keeping her fiery attitude and sharp tongue in check. While she has barely managed to keep the latter under control, she was still bursting with something fierce.
Truly, she had let her momentary anger get the better out of her, and had lost her calm. She needed to control herself. She needed to get herself together. Only now did it occur to her that this might be what the enemy was trying to do, toy with them until they went mad or do something rash. It was disturbing that she had almost been one of them. On the outside, the onlooker could only see a range of emotions cross the young woman’s face, none of them pleasant to look at. It seemed like the strongest out of them all was risking herself—not a logical decision, but there seemed to be no other way.
After carefully setting the unconscious boy by the vice captain, Gen stood there for a brief second, looking down at the innocent soul. “Que ton innocence règne longtemps...” She whispered. The innocents were always the first victims, both in the past, so is it now. One last glance, and she steeled herself to walk away.
A cold and unfeeling look had fallen over those grey-green eyes, and ruby lips were set in a grim line. There was still some of that vomit on her shoes, which she tried to kick off. Unfortunately that slight odor would be following her, but she had more pressing issues than dirty shoes. She looked for the guy who had the map, and seeing him take off running, she followed after him.
Accélérer. She grabbed nearby shadows and wrapped them around her legs, giving her a temporary boost in speed. Time was ticking, and they needed to get a move on. They still had that one child to find.
It did not seem that far from the hospital. In fact, it seemed like the map was leading them towards an extension of the said place of healing. She was not surprised to find herself staring at a bunch of decorative stones.
A graveyard. Of course.

“When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back.”
Hans kept at the same pace as the group as they headed to the hospital. He continued to look forward, but could still see the children he were holding by the corner of his eyes. His attention then shifted to one of them. They were badly injured, burned...and appeared so young. The merc bit his lower lip at the sight of this. He didn't realize how young these two looked until he gotten a closer to them. The poor children in his arms looked no more than three and it sickened him. These children were probably terrified, and looking for their parents...but all they found was pain. The daemon cast the wicked illusion...but it was the merc who did the damage. If only he were more in tune with his sensory...
The building which was the hospital was beginning to be visible, and with it a hint of hope flashed on the dark mage's features...but that same look would quickly fade at the sight of the unholy creature standing in front of the entrance.
"You..." Hans muttered, fury in his tone as he tightened his grip on the children, but not enough to further hurt them. So this is the monster responsible for all of this, an actual Daemon, in the flesh?
Worried that the creature would try something to harm the children, Hans took one step back but his eyes furrowed as the mastermind bowed...and called truce? Oh how badly Hans wanted to end this Daemon, drown it within the endless abyss of his own darkness, but feeling that twisted mana, Hans knew that he was no match for it and even if he was, the Daemon made it clear that if something were to happen to him, things would end badly for everyone. Of course it wouldn't be that stupid to just appear in front of the others without a few tricks up its sleeves.
Every word the daemon felt like venom. It was behind all of this but rather would play innocent and try to get in everyone's heads, especially the merc and Charles. Hans gave the daemon an unyielding scowl the moment it looked at him. The man wanted it to be clear about how badly he wanted that filthy creature dead. It was playing everyone like pawns, using the innocent to its advantage, and no one could do anything about it. Hans' scowl loosened a bit as the daemon claimed that it'll let the children get the care they so desperately need...but at the cost of the blonde magic knight!
The merc looked in her direction as she seemingly passed that water map over to Charles. It seems like she was already set to make the sacrifice, and a part of Hans felt bad for this. If it weren't for his and Charles' folly, maybe this wouldn't have happened...but these children came first as well as the one being held hostage.
The black bull knight and shadow mage already dropped off the children they were holding and set off to the next destination. As this happened, one of the children fidgeted a bit in Hans' hand, causing him to look at them once more. The merc was still very hesitant about this. What if this was all but another trap? Even with the strongest one of the group staying behind, Hans still feared that something could happen to these children. Gritting his teeth, Hans walked a little closer to where Charles and Genesis dropped their children off and shook his head slowly.
"I'm staying." He declared, looking briefly at the blonde before glaring at the daemon. "I want to make sure you keep up your end...I won't attempt anything." Hans claimed, still holding onto the children he injured, but of course if a medic were to come out for the children he'd relinquish them. If the daemon does anything to to further harm those children, the merc will not hesitate to attack...despite not being strong enough. Even if the blonde mage remained here, Hans wouldn't feel at ease leaving these children here.
Having seen what both Charles and Genesis are capable of in the past, he had faith that they could handle any potential obstacles...but there was still a sense of uneasiness about splitting up. Perhaps one of the other two or both would go as well. As much as Hans wants to save that one child...there were also these children to worry about. It felt like no matter what Hans decided to do, there was always going to be a strong potential of something bad happening...
