[attr="class","ardereescroll"][break]Thank you Verena, I- Darkness. The abyss and devoid of life or feeling was all Ardere felt after he heard the voices. He meant to respond, but something inside of him froze for a moment. What were these other Daemon up to? As he fell into the abyss once more, the Crimson Lion was reminded of the darkness he saw the day Lawrence almost killed him. That moment in time was the closest to death the Captain had ever come. Several times since then he had been close to death, but that time was by far the closest. What he felt around him was like that, but just for the blink of an eye. Dive Salamander! Commanding the dragon to break hard and dive, the spirit did so. But by the time the smoke disappeared, everyone save the two Captains were gone. [break][break] Ardere's heart sank. Where were they? It happened again, the disappearing. What power did these Daemon have that allowed them to do that, then he remembered what the crystals had done back in Sosshi. They were only so powerful on their own, but here in this city steeped in darkness for months they had grown a god-like power unlike anything he had seen. His blood ran hot like boiling water as adrenaline began to spike and flow through his body. Be safe, everyone. He said solemnly. Looks like we're on our own Zaven. We can only hope they get to the wells and the citizens. We have one target now; Sven. Grinding his teeth, the Kasai was afraid not for himself but for his comrades. Faith was the only thing getting him through now. There was a fight to fight. He aimed to land down where he smelled the burning flesh, returning Salamander to his body to hide. Having a giant target flying throughout the city was dangerous enough, but here below the skies was the true danger. Darkness lurking in every corner, he felt the power here. Every hair on his body stood up as his Ki sensory went haywire. What was lying in wait for them here? [break][break] Tch. Widening his stance, Ardere closed his eyes for a moment as his aura began to flare up. He remembered everything that led him here. He wasn't just fighting for himself. Today he fought for all of the citizens of Kikka, for Silas and Wolfe, but most importantly the future of this Kingdom. This would be a turning point in the fighting. If they could retake Kikka then they'd prove that the Daemon were not going to take what they wanted. Flames began to swell up inside of the mage until they burst out of his skin like waves flooding the street. I'll force you to come to me, Sven. Unless you're afraid. Wings sprouting from his back as scales began to crawl across his skin, a dark blazing armor formed over his body. This was the combination of two spells; Ryujin and Tyr. Both of these were of the Crimson King series, meaning they burned a bright crimson red as his power skyrocketed. The once mage now relinquished his Crimson Lion cloak to the wind as his shirt and vest were ripped to shreds and melted away from his skin until only his pants remained. Crackling flames and lines that looked almost like lava veins ran through his skin as his eyes began to glow a visceral yellow. Claws bursting from his nails and spikes from his elbows, no longer stood a man but something that more resembled a dragon warrior. Come and get me.
Name of Spell: Crimson King: Ryujin[break] Elemental Type: Fire[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Transformation (Transfigure - Transport) | Physical Reinforcement (Speed)[break] Range & Speed: Self | 60 m/s[break] Mana Cost: 40 (20)[break] Stats Effected: +20 m/s[break] Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist, Predator's Mutation.[break] Description: The user quite literally transmutes their own body to grow wings that appear like those of a dragon, and burst into flames. The user's fingers also extend by 4 inches into claws with red scales that go up his arms/legs/torso and across his face, his feet being subject to the same claw growth as his hands. Ardere's eyes will even turn a piercing yellow, with vertical slit eyelids. The wings themselves are 50 inches. This spell's speed is further increased via the use of Physical Reinforcement magic, causes Ard's veins to pulse as magic flows through them. Ardere can transport others if he wishes, with a maximum of 5 people. [break][break] Name of Spell: Crimson King: Tyr[break] Elemental Type: Fire[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation/Physical Reinforcement[break] Range & Speed: Self | N/A[break] Mana Cost: 40 (20)[break] Stats Effected: +Grand Strength[break] Applicable Perks: Mana Conservationist, Concussive Blows, Battle Knight, Brute, Herculean Strength.[break] Description: Ardere has used this spells for years, and is considered one of his most used spells. Based on the Ifrit spell Lysander used and the Abyss Armor Elizabeth utilized, this spell has been honed and practiced. The mage creates an armor of flame across his entire body, lighting his hair on fire in the process. This also causes his muscles to expand and strengthen as the PR aspect of it reinforces his strength. This allows him to punch holes in buildings, or even level them. The power of the flame and reinforcement are used in tandem to make this a monstrously terrifying offensive spell.

Sol just listened as Ardere spoke to them and it was comforting to hear his words however it seemed fate was not on their side, as if out of nowhere a dark fog had suddenly washed over them which instantly put the blood mage on edge and has his hand on his sword before as luck would have it the fog lifted by they were no longer together as a group anymore. Sol narrowed his eyes as neither captain was to be found and the only two that were near him were the newcomer and Verena which made the civilian realize that they had been divided up once more. As he heard Verena ask him and Joseph if they were ok to which he nodded. “Im alright no worse for the wear seems our foes are taking divide and conquer quite literally” he said Solemnly. He didn’t focus on what Joseph was saying since it seemed like he was muttering and trying to get himself focused.
At the mention of a graveyard Sol suddenly gained a cautious look.” Your sure this is a graveyard? He asked before he kneeled down and touched the ground and instantly went on high alert. The ground was not normal like a graveyard should have been with stone and packed earth instead if was as if something had either pulverized pushed the earth violently like and explosion or some kind of powerful force. “I remember hearing that an incident happen with the first team in a graveyard this could be the very same spot which means we might be close to a well” he deduced since he had heard a report on what had happened the first time kikka had been explored and it disturbed him to no end. “if this is the same graveyard we need to stay sharp I doubt that the enemy would leave such an important thing like a well unguarded” he said as he put his hand on his hand on his blade and waited to hear his team mates input on the situation.
A soft raise of an eyebrow. The Captain of the Crimson Lions was praising them? Well perhaps…it was needed. Everyone was too worried. She too was all up in her head. Being a strategist, perfectionist and workaholic meant that she was almost always a control freak. And control freaks had a hard time letting go of the reins. In this case, she wasn’t on control. She could only stand to learn from Ardere and Zaven. They weren’t even close when it came to magical abilities. [break][break] “Thanks.” She muttered as she ran a hand through her hair. When he made them split up she listened to him talk quietly before sighing. Come on Rosalia, you can take instructions. It was a bit of a pain sometimes, but the woman was representing the Bulls and for Malcolm and the Squad’s sake she had to represent with strength and vigour (and continue being the literal icon of sex, because of course that was a priority for the ex-supermodel).
[break][break] The encouraging speech quickly turned sour and the Ice witch narrowed her eyes. Oh perfect, uncertainty and self-doubt is exactly what they needed at this moment. She’d never really spoken with the Crimson Lion Captain openly before. The beauty wanted to do so.
[break][break] So they were to split up? Alright then. Simple enough. As long as everyone remained careful, then they were all going to be fine. The beauty was happy to just get to relax and let the mana rest in her veins as they traveled upon Salamander. Whatever had happened with the other daemon voices, they seemed to be in the clear for a little bit? In any case, one of the voices confirmed of the funnelling that the group was going through. It made Rosalia roll her eyes. Divide and Conquer could be a strong motto as well…
[break][break] “Well considering the moment of relaxation, thank you, whoever you are. You have an attractive voice.” The beauty spoke quietly, a small smile rising to her lips as her personality shone through her cold exterior. Ah yes, always the flirt. It was a pleasant surprise when she found out that Sven couldn’t read her mind for a bit and her mind ran over to Charles and Malcolm at the base. She had to do her best for them. There was no other choice but pulling through.
[break][break] The darkness that took over her vision however made her skin crawl. It was sudden, but had a solid grip on her and obscured her movement and vision for a bare moment…and then she found herself in a familiar part of the town she grew up at, one of the local wells. It was…blown up. Rosalia crouched down and picked up a piece of gravel before glancing around at the only other person she found herself with- Chisana. She shook her head.
[break][break] “This day just gets weirder and weirder doesn’t it hun?” She asked as she stood up and looked around. Their job now was to stay alive and find civilians in need, was it not?
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Perfect Buff: Those with this perk may now cause their magical stat boost buffs to buff at a rank above their own when buffing allies only. For Archmage spells this will give +3 to the total of the buff. This cannot affect Physical Buffs in any way, even if used in dual spec.
[break]
Description: Rosalia pours mana into her grimoire, summoning forth a whip of flexible black ice, called Frostbite. The whip deals senior damage to an enemy, buffing the caster's Power by +9 upon usage. If the whip is picked up by an ally, they obtain a buff of +12 Power.[break]
This spell works with the ammo rules.[break][break] [break]
Chisana’s mind had drifted for what felt like a moment but had seemed to be more of the case of quite a bit longer then intended. Maybe he was simply becoming worn down from the death’s of the innocent civilians from earlier, regardless it was not the time to allow himself to drift so far into his own thoughts. Luckily it seemed that during his daze the rest of the group had gotten him onto the back of Salamander which any other time would have been a moment of pure admiration for the powerful spirit but by the time he had come to realize where he was the surrounding darkness blocked his vision and a weird sensation passed over him. [break][break]
When the darkness gave way to the light he noticed he was no longer on the back of the fiery dragon but was now alone, well not completely alone Chisana did notice that Rosa had also been transported to wherever this new place was. “Yeah it does seem like this day was just going to continue to grow stranger minute by minute.” Chisana looked around the area and pushed his mana out into the surrounding area to see if he could “feel” anything around them. “There has to be a reason we were sent here.” The area was looking familiar from some of the reports that Chisana had skimmed over before they headed here but beyond knowing that this had been a place where something called a “well” had been he had no clue what could be so important about this area again.

TL;DR After a brief moment of distracted thoughts brought on by the extended stress of combat and the recent events, Chisana has become transported to a new place with Rosa by something that had been called a "well" in a previous report. Is trying to sense anything with his mana in the area.

It was Ard was speaking that an unusual thing happened, the entire party was covered in a dense shadow that even threw off the sensory and Ki of the stronger members of the group, it was clear whoever had done it wanted to make sure that their movements weren't tracked. A voice, however, did speak out it was the same stoic voice that Ard had heard explaining that the group had been given a small window where they could move freely without the watchful eyes of his father watching but to use it wisely as the chances were there wouldn't be a second one. The Crimson Captain ordered his spirit to dive but it was already too late he just hadn't known it at that point but as the spirit landed near the burning and screaming citizens a silhouette was seen briefly before it vanished, it would be enough for anyone to doubt their senses or sanity but as if vanished so did the almost choking darkness revealing something, the two captains were completely alone. The rest of the group that was there had completely vanished making the man's heart sink to his stomach. There was also something else now that they were back on the ground their vision returned back to what it had been the moment they had stepped foot into Kikka.
All the two captains could do was hope that the others stayed safe and fulfill the tasks of destroying the wells while protecting the citizens while they tended to the head of the trio. 'You may want to go toe to toe with him lord of fire but you won't be able to do it alone I assure you, he knows of your past use this to your benefit to allow your friend to fight alongside you.' the male's voice spoke almost into his mind as if it was a private message only meant for him. It was once again stoic and it held no remorse for separating the group and that was for a reason only known to himself. All he would be able to hear was Sven laughing in his ear "Firra, I am not afraid of you little boy I am out in the open and have been since before you got here it's not my fault you are too arrogant to do something even flowers do." he said as if this was all one giant game to him "Although you may want to watch your temper, there are citizens around and your flames are just adding to the ones that are licking the skin of those already being burned alive." he said honestly if Ard did pay attention his magic was being drawn to the flames already nearby "Those people that helped raise you have some interesting and taboo magic and rituals." he said knowing that he would have to lower his own magic to douse the flame but if he was to start up to near before breaking the trap it would just set it off again.
While that was happening in front of Zaven a small amethyst gem appearing in front of him to which he decided to answer the call asking for an update on the situation with the group holding two of his squad members. It would turn out he wouldn't wait long until he got his answer. "Hello, Captain Zaven. You don't know me, but I'm contacting you on behalf of one of your squad members Hinota Yuiee. She is standing right next to me, and if you want confirmation, you can ask a question only she knows the answer to, and I'll relay the response back. We're at Charlotte's house and just fought against civilians clocked with illusions and a mana beast. One of our team members is...uh, currently under arrest, under the orders of Captain Jett. What is the situation over there?" the voice said to the man only he himself would be able to hear the words being spoken from the caster of the spell.

Verena, Sol, Joseph:
Verena had been having a conversation with the captain but not long after it had finished and she started to talk to Lilitu the separation happened before Lilitu could even respond. "If you speak the words even if they attack they would stop and walk off so I would have to decline that edit to this request as it helps us both and I would rather they don't get hurt." she said softly in a sad voice "They're precious to me like the people who are around you are precious to you." as she spoke there was almost something pitiful in the tone she used if Verena put everything together it wouldn't be hard for the young woman to realise that other than her brother these mana beasts were her only friends and so cherished them as such. That was why she was so protective of them and would be willing to give the information to get them out of the way. With this realisation, she would likely be able to make the agreement more beneficial for the group. "I am aware of your physical state but I would still hold it against you as much as you would hold it against me for protecting myself against a mortal that would attack me." It was as simple as that in Lilitu's mind because the daemoness had been attacked several times but she had never once harmed or attacked them, instead, she had one of the mana beasts pick them up and throw them out as if they were a drunk that had overstayed their welcome. "Let me clarify a little Mistress Verena, I believe everyone has a right to survive good or evil the only ones who have the right to make the decision in such a thing are mother life and father death." he paused for a moment "I just believe that mortals come across as that their struggles are the only ones that matter, that their life is so difficult and hard and to your all they must be but there are people who have it far worse than you and I am sure there are others that have it far worse than I but your race apparently has compassion and love ours does not we have death and murder from the moment we take our first breath." He understood how his words may have previously come across and so wanted to make things very clear this time.
"My sister knows of love and compassion from the wraiths that she has within what she calls her graveyard. They teach her such things and over time has become more mortal-like within her personality but it is also why she feels wrath like no other if they are hurt." he explained to her "I... I have a weakness that will make those who break that door wish they had never been born because I will snuff them out of existence." he almost sounded ashamed of that one sentence but it was clear that whatever he treasured to the point he would feel that amount of rage shouldn't be harmed while he drew breath. It was then she asked him a question "I do." he said simply "You have a utopia here where you could live in peace and harmony but you would rather harm each other, I just can't understand why." he explained "I do know of these people but I know there are also things like angels of death that work as doctors and nurses, people who abuse the weak they are meant to care for, people who take in orphans just for a little more yul. I am not saying they are all like this but the six children that the former vice-captain made a deal with my father for were all victims of three angels of death... Those are the ones burning in the centre of the city right now." he said allowing her to know why those people were being burned alive. "They didn't make it quick, those children suffered... it was slow and agonising my sister before she returned to the purple orca headquarters when we returned went to the hospital and joined them to her graveyard and she loves them like a mother would children." it was bizarre to him but it made her happy and so he wasn't going to interfere with it.
"But how will you bring change with such doubt and a small voice? Why would people support you for those same reasons?" he would ask her more as rhetorical questions she would need to answer only to herself as he could see she wasn't yet ready to be a leader, she hadn't found the strength that people would march into war behind or listen to in a noble court. It was something he knew she would have to work on herself if she hoped to even start that change in her lifetime. "Mistress Verena we are around twenty-five years old in your years and we have seen enough death, destruction and struggles to last us several lifetimes over. We have obeyed orders that we have questioned the morality on, and committed several genocides on scales that most couldn't fathom in that time. We aren't good people and the more we change the more we see that... we are honesty tired of the suffering." his voice was soft "Please remember once touched by darkness it stains you forever." with that he went quiet. Lilitu listened to her request but it was quite impossible for her to comply for one simple reason "I can't do that as there are no homes near the shadow palace." her voice was honest with the girl "You see the palace is in the air due to the agreement made with Artemis Somerset." she revealed to her "Is there another house you would like evacuated or perhaps something else you want?" she would ask as if it was just something run of the mill to her.
It was then that Verena would turn and ask if the others were okay only to be told that they were. Joseph hadn't seemed to have noticed that they had been moved to a graveyard at first but when he had it would seem as if he was in a panic but after the initial shock, he seemed to have calmed apologising for his behaviour. Sol had seemed to have understood what the daemons had in mind when he split up the group but there was another reason he had done this, it just happened that his and his sisters wants overlapped with their fathers. Everyone that was taking part in the siege of Kikka had been allowed to read the classified reports of the group that had been within Kikka when it had been attacked of course there were a few things left out like the former vice-captain of the green mantis making a deal with Sven, that was something only the higher-ups knew and what had happened to the woman. He was correct in thinking that there may have well nearby due to the reports but little did the three junior mages know that was no longer the case as the daemons had moved them knowing there would be an attempted siege. Little had he knew that previously all wells were technically all guarded just that all held traps of varying ranks of destruction but he was wise to state they should remain on guard going forward.
~~~
Rosa and Chisana:
It was seeming as if the vice-captain of the black bulls was having a hard time taking the orders from the crimson lion captain having to remind herself that she could follow the orders given knowing that he was one of the two in charge of the group and that she represented her squad and it would reflect badly on her captain if she acted against the orders she was given. It would seem like the young woman would speak towards Ito. "You are welcome for the moment of peace, however, I do not find anything about your kind attractive although even if I did I wouldn't be interested in lowborn mortals like yourself due to my standing." it was just his way of thinking it would seem like the noble daemon had more to say to her "I must admit I find it tacky and somewhat disgusting that you would flirt in the middle of a battlefield where lives are on the line more so with your enemy." to him that was just common sense and was really starting to wonder if magic knights had a brain cell to share between them. She would find herself in one of the local parks but this was the one were Hans, Seren and Genesis had destroyed one of the five shadow wells before moving on to the one where they had found Ito sitting reading while having a snack.
Chisana seemed to have been in a daze when he got onto the back of Salamander, it was clear that this whole event had been eating away at him little by little and they had yet to accomplish a single thing why they had come to Kikka to do in the first place. It was clear even to the blind these daemons were playing mind games as if to break the group especially to those who weren't fully prepared for what they were getting themselves into. It was the darkened misty shadow that finally brought him out of his own mind but no sooner than it had been there than it was gone and he found himself on the ground with his own vice-captain her voice easily heard by him as she spoke, he could only agree with her. It was then Chisana recalled the information he had read on the reports about the shadow wells but he was at a loss as to why this place was so important for them to be dropped in.
Story:
The group has been separated with no rhyme or reason as to why they were or why they are in the places they are.
In the group of Zaven and are Sven has taunted Ard again bringing up his past and the cult that his parents were members of. Ito has spoken to Ard informing him of a way to get his father to get Zaven to fight alongside him assuring the fire user that he won't be able to go it alone. While that was happening Zaven was getting an update from Jett's group the woman going so far as saying she was with his junior and he could ask something only Hinota would know to clarify it was the truth.
Verena was spoken to by the twins again where they gave their own insights but she was given information that the shadow palace isn't actually on the ground but in the air in order for Sven to keep his side of the agreement with Artemis. Joseph had a panic but calmed himself especially as Sol brought up about the wells.
Rosa's flirted words rubbed the daemon Ito up the wrong way and he showed no hesitation in voicing his displeasure in them. The pair of black bulls, however, were left wondering why they were moved to that spot of all placed but agreed that things were getting stranger by the minute.
This round each of the three groups has free movement to decide what course of action they will take going forward.
While Chisana looked around the immediate area it seemed like they were indeed close to one of the already destroyed wells that seemed to be spread out throughout the town of Kikka just like what was reported from the previous group. Chisana’s mind went to Charles the other Black Bull that had been apart of the previous team to interact with the city and demons, the usually lethargic squad mate seemed to have become more self-focused since returning from the event. He was starting to understand why that was, having started to experience some of the things that was already making the young Shengxiao wonder if they were on the right path or if they were just nothing more then floundering fish stuck on shore with no way back to the ocean. It was certainly a disheartening train of thought that Chisana could not let prevail anymore it was time to focus on the now and deal with the past once they had completed their mission. He needed to go back over the last couple of hours and think about what they needed to do. Chisana knew that they needed to defeat the demons, and to get rid of the wells though he was not sure what would happen if they messed with the wells without knowing what they did. If they are such major things, then would not the daemons have a stronger defense compared to previously? Chisana decided he would have to come back to that line of thought later on. [break][break]
From what he could tell there was only 3 daemons, Sven the father and head hancho of this whole ordeal with two of daemons who seemed to be siblings by how they talked to one another Ito and Lillitu. Ito the male seemed to be a very straight forward and logical individual that cared for little beyond possibly his sibling but Chisana couldn’t be sure of that distinction and could only guess. If it came down to having to fight the brother it might be best to take him out first or some how use his sister as a hostage though Chisana highly doubted anyone besides possibly Zaven and Ardere had that kind of strength though. Lillitu though seemed just like any other girl with her toys, the mutual affection for her brother seemed to be there but not on the level as the other sibling. She did seem more prone to allowing things to go whatever way as long as her toys weren’t messed with or any promises weren’t broken. That was the common thing with the Daemons Chisana had noticed, they all kept the promises that they made, they also tended to like certain people who they interacted with. Though Chisana was sure that there was quite a difference between someone liking someone and a daemon liking someone, he figured it was more like a predator toying with their prey and keeping them around just because they could.[break][break]
With what he could see with all the shadows that limited his visibility, the town was in relatively good shape. This area was a bit more worn down but Chisana contributed that to them being close to a destroyed well. They knew that the people were still here and while it seemed that some were being used as toys or colleteral nothing seemed to suggest that they were being mistreated beyond a certain limit. Chisana could only assume that this was due to another promise that had been made between the daemons and the previous group. “We need to learn what they are bound by and see how we can use it to our advantage.” Chisana said to Rosa. “We have wandered for too long like a chicken with no head.” [break][break]
Chisana continued to analyze his thoughts and the prior events. Sven had shown that he was in control from the very beginning with the traps that welcomed them to the town, the twins had shown that while they will listen to what Sven has said they were growing tired of all this. So, there was certainly a chance to use their desire to stop all this to the group’s advantage, they just had to figure out how to. The splitting of the group into smaller groups showed that there was a point to the separation, and while Chisana would have loved to think that it was because they were just to strong all together he figured it was more to cause despair and prolong the game of chess that Sven was enjoying. [break][break]
He was sure that he had thought of everything pertaining to the previous events, but he just wasn’t sure what they could do besides press on and truly think everything through without rushing. “Come on Chisana, think. There has to be something we are missing and it will come back to bite us in the ass if we don’t figure it out.” Chisana muttered to himself as he scanned the area. All he could think of doing at the moment was to continue towards the destroyed well and see what they could find there. He wasn’t sure if they would find anything of help but maybe they would get lucky. If anything it would be greatly helpful to have a chance to look at the so called well that he had only read about from the previous group. A source of immensive mana in an small area might be linked to how the daemons were able to take over the area to easily though something in the back of Chisana’s mind told him that they needed to leave them be and focus on finding the daemons. He wasn’t sure why that was but it felt right and it was about time for him to actually pay attention to his own instincts. Chisana was realizing that he was for to long just going with the flow of the events as they happened around him and wasn’t actively trying to finish the mission that was given to them. That was about to change. [break][break]
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia had been watching the fight for Kikka from the very start. After all she was the over watch for both groups as much as she would have loved to have been on the front lines fighting with everyone else she understood why she was over watch. This deamon wasn't one outright fight he played the long game. It was something clover learned the during the fall of Kikka. Lydia's role in this whole plan was fairly simple she was to watch over the fight and use her magic to aid both teams when given the order to do so. Of course if needed she was allowed to step in and join the fight which in a prefect world if everything went according to plan the glass mage wouldn't need to however the Ravencrest knew they didn't live in a perfect world and was prepared to step in at a moments notices. Things seemed to be going good at the start of course there was a few things that didn't go perfect like when one of the purple orca mages was removed from the town by some means unknown to the vice captain. [break][break] There was also the moment when on of the citizens in Jetts group killed three citizens briefly but it seemed one of the deamons had brought them back to life for yet another unknown reason to Lydia which she didn't like not knowing why but she was glad the kids didn't actually die. From the building Lydia was currently on her maps was able to cover both groups in it's range. Of course thanks to the illusion that went along with her map it wasn't like anything could see her as far as she knew but she wasn't counting on it staying like that forever things never went perfect in situations like this one. Her focus was currently on her map as she watched over Zaven and Ardere's group. It was at that moment the dots on her map would vanish for a moment except for that of both captains Lydia's eyes would start scanning the map looking to see what happened to the others. It looked like they had been split up into three groups one had both captains a second had the two black bull mages and the third and final group had the three junior mages who were currently in what seemed to be a grave yard. Lydia would bite her lip as she realized the deamon had played a good hand against her if he knew it himself or not didn't matter as she was now forced to head towards the juniors or risk them setting off traps which seeing as it was unknown what they could do was to much of a risk. Lydia would let both map and illusion spell drop before her grimoire opened to cast a new spell. Light Magic: Nuntius Deorum A halo would then appear over Lydia's head followed up by one over Jett,Zaven and Ard's heads so that she could speak to them. [break][break] There was been a change of plans I have to head into Kikka myself meaning I can give over watch anymore. I'm heading towards the junior mages who were separated from Zaven and Ardere. The two black bull mages are still together so they should be fine. I'll keep this spell up so the four of us can stay in touch and keep each other updated. After updating all three on the captains the glass mage would fly off towards the graveyard using her sensory to avoid any traps that might have been in the air. With her speed it didn't take long to reach the three junior mages as she landed in front of them it would at first look as if a Valkyrie was landing in front of them up as Lydia landed fully on the ground she would drop the spell as she no longer needed it. This of course would cause her appearance to return to normal. Hell there I'm Lydia Ravencrest the vice captain of the crimson lions. [break][break] I'll keep things short since we don't have a lot of time. I'm here to help you avoid traps so you don't die or destroy the town. As long as you listen to what I say you'll be fine if you chose not to listen or do something dumb then I'll knock you out myself am I understood. Lydia would give them a moment to answer before looking at Joseph the only one of the three she worked with before she would of course take note of his own mapping spell. Joseph I'm going to give you my own mapping spell the only downside for the three of you is it has a illusion spell tied into it so you won't be able to see me anymore. Lydia would then hold out her grimoire and casted the spell. Light Magic: Alfheim Just like Lydia said she would vanish from sight of the three mages they also wouldn't be able to hear sense or smell the vice captain. [break][break] However Lydia would use her last three Halo's and put them over the head of Joseph, Verena and Sol. She would then speak solely to those three of course her voice would be in there heads. Those halo's will allow me to speak with the three of you even while you're under the effect of my illusion. Joseph the blue dots on the map are teammates and if any red dots show up they are enemies. Those two wells on the map are what we need to destroy we'll head to the southwest one since it's closer. I want you to take the lead out of you three since you have the map. I'll be right next to you the whole time so you'll be safe. [break][break] I'll also use my sensory to let us avoid any traps. You also won't need your map anymore so you can save mana however once you feel like you have enough back I want you to try and get in contact with the two black bull mages and let them known what's going on. Verena and Sol you'll be keeping him safe from mana beast that make it past me if we run into any on the way to the well. before we head out does anyone have any questions or anything they'd like to add?
Perhaps more than anyone here, Verena understood what Lilitu experienced. A crippling, suffocating loneliness. They were enemies, and Verena knew that for Kikka to successfully be taken over, these two had to perish. These two knew that as well. That was the only choice available. The only path available. Verena remained still as she stared at the ground. How could she even try to raise a hand against these mana beasts now? What right did she have to try to remove the only thing she could call a friend? She was aware that there a possibility of lying, but even if there was, it wasn't as if she really had the strength to do anything about it. Lilitu viewed her mana beasts the same way Verena viewed the potential in her golems. The brunette was constantly trying to make advances with her magic to create a human. To create a friend. Because she was too afraid of her own species at large.[break][break]
Was it the same for her, too, she wondered?[break][break]
"...I agree," she said in a hushed tone to Lilitu so as to hide her voice from Joseph or Sol, before turning to face the two mages.[break][break]
This was also in part a trap on her part--by agreeing to not harm the mana beasts, she was also giving Lilitu their own word that they wouldn't harm them. She had given hers, but Sol and Joseph had yet to give their own allegiance. Agreeing with Verena here and now was tantamount to agreeing with the daemon, and she didn't the others to believe that she was playing traitor. She had yet to know for sure if Lilitu was serious or not, either--even still, she realized it was in her own interests to not do anything to truly piss off the twins. If they could get through the wells, then it was a matter of just leaving it to the Captains to deal with Sven.[break][break]
In truth, Verena wouldn't blame Lilitu for seeking to defend herself. Perhaps if the mortal in question was Suna, she would. But Verena had a very difficult time attaching herself to people under normal circumstances to begin with. Still, she understood the train of thought, and correcting Lilitu seemed relatively pointless in the grand scheme of things. It wasn't as if she wanted to test her, either--a fact Ito made abundantly clear.[break][break]
Ito elaborated on his earlier points. She couldn't blame him for it, though. Many people wouldn't think twice about the perspective of another. Verena was certainly guilty of that as well from time to time, something she brought her head down to as she stared down at the ground. She cursed her own misfortune more often than not, she cursed her own powerlessness. And though she never once tried gaining favor as a result of pity, she often found herself envying commoners for their freedom as she turned a blind eye as they worked their fingers to the bone just to get by, even now.[break][break]
That wasn't to say that was a constant for her. Some days, she was more open-minded than others. Even still, the pity party was something she knew deep down she was more than willing to dive down and remain there for long periods of time. Feeling sorry for herself, succumbing to feelings of powerlessness over things she could not change...[break][break]
That was just par for the course when it came to her life over these past five years. No... even more than that. She had no right to speak on that. She was not free of that line of thinking. Even still, despite feeling guilty for being called out on it even if inadvertently, was it truly so bad? Human beings were all different. Even if she might have been this way now, it didn't mean she would always be this way. And she certainly didn't start off this way. Ardere was certainly not one to feel sorry for himself.[break][break]
There was truly a large number of people in the world. All kinds of people. Some stronger, some weaker. It was easier to point the finger at others than to just try to work past setbacks. That was how commoners and nobility co-existed if one could even call it that, after all...[break][break]
These angels of death Ito spoke of were no different than the Magic Knights. She knew that feeling quite well. That disgust. Her delicate features did momentarily contort with disgust. Even if Ito was lying about what was happening at the center, she knew it was an all too real possibility. It was because of people like that she was ordinarily too afraid to approach others.[break][break]
That brief animosity was changed with Ito's question, however. How would she bring change? Why would people support her?[break][break]
...How indeed. Why indeed. She didn't really know. She knew she needed support, but she didn't know how she could obtain it. What did she possibly have to offer? She was, at the end of the day, just a Reinsberg. Even though she was in Kikka, she was still just a nobody. That wouldn't change even at the end of things, no matter the outcome. Ito seemed to know this well and didn't bother with a follow up.[break][break]
And then, Lilitu hit her with a bombshell. The location of the Shadow Palace. It made sense. Why things got darker the higher up they went. They were approaching shadow. Glancing upward, as if trying to see the shape of the castle, she glanced to Joseph. "...Contact the captains as quickly as you can! The Shadow Palace is above us. It's in the sky!"[break][break]
While she let her two companions sort that out, she focused on what she considered the more important part of what Lilitu mentioned.[break][break]
"...In that case, evacuate the home housing the most children, including their caretakers," she said for Lilitu only to hear. Hopefully, that would be acceptable. [break][break]
"...Ideally, I'd also like to know about where we could find a well, but..." she mused for the twins once more. It was near-total darkness for the three, and thus even if they were given direction, it might not have amounted to much. Even then... "...I don't suppose that's information you would be willing to share, too?"[break][break]
And then, she appeared.[break][break]
Verena wasn't sure why or how. The crimson-eyed girl took notice of Lydia's presence only once she descended. Was it an illusion? Verena listened to and observed Lydia carefully as she spoke, staring into her eyes with each word. Though the Reinsberg hadn't ever met Lydia before, she naturally had heard of her. Strength like hers was not something one could fabricate. Charisma itself was not easily fabricated. And of course, Light Magic wasn't easily fabricated.[break][break]
Ultimately, Verena was willing to believe it was in fact the real Lydia Ravencrest. She could not fathom Sven being able to use Shadow Magic to create an illusion of the Light Magic that Lydia was so blatantly using right now. While she wouldn't rule off another possibility, it was simply far too unlikely that this was a fake before her.[break][break]
"Understood," Verena said. Now, there was no way for her to communicate with Lilitu. In addition, there was no way for her to convince a Vice-Captain to not harm the mana beasts. There was no way for her to convince Lydia. Just when she thought things were going to proceed even a little bit easier, this curveball happened.[break][break]
It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for it though. In fact, she had wanted to speak to Lydia for some time now. Maybe, just maybe, she could...[break][break]
No. Verena let out a soft sigh. There was no point in getting her hopes up. More importantly, her curse wasn't a priority right now. This was about Kikka and the people who had been trapped here for two months in this lightless hell. It sounded like Ito and Lilitu were far more compassionate--at least, by Daemon's standards, but Sven was far from it.[break][break]
At the very end, Lydia asked if there was any other information that needed to be shared or any questions. Verena shifted around uncomfortably. Should she say anything? She had been communicating with the enemy after all. Would Lydia perceive her as a threat? She knew nothing about how the Vice-Captain would perceive or handle this. But...[break][break]
No, Verena was no good at trickery or deception. She let out an exasperated sigh. She knew what she had to do.[break][break]
"I don't know if I should say this," she began to say. "But one of the daemons who says she's responsible for the mana beasts has asked that we agree to avoid fighting them. If we do, she promised that she would prevent her mana beasts from attacking us. I... personally think that's for the best. She gave me the location of the Shadow Palace--it's in the sky above us, and she's agreed to assist one home in Kikka in escaping. Plus... um... while I-I can't speak for the others, but I also feel it would be better to agree to these terms as fighting while having to avoid possible traps even if you can find them is not a skill set I possess. I'd prefer if we could avoid fighting and focus on destroying the wells."[break][break]
Verena seemed... very uncomfortable as she spoke. Her voice was loud enough to be heard, but she knew quite well how her words could be interpreted. She had been talking with the enemy, and she had informed the Vice-Captain of the Crimson Lions of this. Would she view it as an act of treason? Even still, this was all important information she felt. Especially the location of the Shadow Palace. Furthermore, it went a long way towards achieving the ultimate goal. The location of Sven was most likely known now, and the safety of some civilians was being worked on. Had she done well? Had she done bad? Was she being too trusting? Verena was riddled with uncertainty, and it showed--but one thing did remain clear:[break][break]
Verena Reinsberg wanted to avoid fighting the Mana Beasts. That much, there was no doubt about.
Post by Sol Delothosin✾ on Dec 25, 2020 2:44:47 GMT -5
Sol glanced around in the darkness before sighing, there was no point in trying to get a good look at the area since the darkness was so thick that you could barely see in front of oneself. As he thought for a moment he turned to his team mates. “we should keep moving even if we cannot rejoin with the captains we can still aid them perhaps “ he suggested as he tried to sense anything around him but his brow furrowed as his weak sensory did nothing. “ lets search for the wells if we can disarm them and destroy them it might give the captains an edge against Sven” he added before he looked between Joseph and Verena and then around them. Sol knew his skills in sensing were next to useless but he could at least do his best to protect his teammates and get them thru it.”Do either of you have good sensing skills im not very effective at finding things but the most I can do is restrain and weaken things before finishing them with my sword.” He asked looking to his team.
While he waited for their answer he wondered how the other groups were handling themselves, Sol had no doubt that Ardere and Zaven could handle themselves though he did worry since they were heading straight for the Demon in charge which caused the blood mage to get a sinking feeling they could be walking right into a trap. The other two from black bulls were also no where to be found and it made the red eyed man wonder just where they were sent as well, he wondered just why they were separated like this but for the life of him he couldn’t understand the reasoning for grouping them in such ways. ‘this doesn’t make any sense why spilt us into three groups while I don’t know the skills of the black bull members its baffeling that they would keep the captains together and the three of us why were the three of us…’ he mused in his head before it clicked. From what he remembered he used restraining and hex magic and he knew Verena had Golems and Joseph had communication magic, Sol realized that it was never mentioned that any of them have any offensive magical abilitys and while he had his sword and melee skills and verena had her Golems Sol had no clue what Joseph had. ‘if this is the reason why were were paired and separated from the others then we need to be extra cautious if we don’t function as a team our chances of surviving this are going to plummet even more ‘ he thought to himself trying his best to keep his worry from showing up on his face.
It was then that Sol saw a newcomer appear and he instantly went for his blade not knowing if it was a friend or foe, however the change in appearance and the sight of the red mantle of the crimson lions instantly put Sol at ease and he removed his hand from his sword.”Understood Miss” he said with a determined look on his face. She said she would assist them in avoiding traps and keep them from dieing but also warned that if they didn’t agree or made a dumb mistake she would knock them out herself which the Blood mage completely understood. As she vanished upon casting her illusion spell Ozma blinked as he heard Lydia explain how the map worked and that they would be heading for the well located in the southwest portion of the city, when asked if there was anything to add Sol shook his head to show he had nothing to add but then Verena spoke and explained that if they didn’t attack the mana beasts that they would be safe from harm as well since one of the demons had spoken to her on the matter. Sols eyes narrowed for a moment as he knew these demons were different then others but at the same time he wasent one to give trust so freely especially on the battlefield. What also worried him was the fact that Verena was in contact with foes on the other side was rather concerning but the information she had obtained was without a doubt valuable.
Sol was surprised at what was shared but at the same time he was a bit skeptical on the issue as well since it could easily be a trap to make it worse. “I suppose avoiding fighting would be ideal however I cant help but feel cautious as well we should proceed with the upmost caution but in the end its up to who is leading us to make the decision” he said showing that he would follow the choice that joseph and Lydia decided on. Internally Sol was musing over why any of the demons would be willing to assist them or turn against Sven at all. The more he thought over the issue the more troubleing it became. Only one thing was becoming clear to Sol and that was that they needed to put an end to this as quickly as possible, one thing was for absolute certain after this Sol would never look at the shadows the same for a good long while if perhaps ever again. Once again the blood mages thoughts turned to the captains and Sven as he wondered just how the final battle between the three would play out, it seemed that so far Sven had strung all of them along and knew just what strings to pulls and just what words to say to get the desired reactions and actions from them and while he didn’t doubt both Zaven or Arderes power at the same time he worried that Sven would pull the wool over their eyes and cause them to make terrible mistakes if not accidental death. It was a thought that if it came to pass would no doubt haunt the captains for years if not forever.
I don't know where the future[break][break] will take us,[break][break] But we will blaze it together.[break][break]
[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Grinding down on his teeth, Ardere could not help but feel the frustration boil his blood to the point of steam coming from his body. As he stood there a winged dragon, his monstrous mana was overflowing. Something utilizing his power was adding to the flames? Had his rage overtaken his own sense of logic? Standing there in the rubble and darkness of Kikka, he listened as Sven belittled him. The Crimson King did not so much as interrupt him during the expansive speech. Using his Ki to attempt to see the trap and avoid it, he was not left with any other option than to stay put or stop firing up. Shaking in his boots, his anger calmed for a moment. A tempestuous rage no longer remained with his form but rather the only thing left he had; conviction. When all else faded, his motivations for being here were all that remained among the rocks and charred earth. [break][break] How had he not figured it out yet? Where was Sven? The Arch-Daemon couldn't have been sitting in the city this entire time, so Ardere looked around. Was it some sort of illusion his Ki just wasn't strong enough to see past? Looking to the sky for clarity, it dawned upon him. The darkness high above was far more dense than anywhere else. Recalling back to when they entered the dome of shadow, he realized it was high above Kikka--far higher than this. Was it just a coincidence? Perhaps he was wrong but there was only one way to test it. I'm never alone. He spoke not just to the voice inside his head but to Sven himself. I'm carrying the hopes and dreams of all the mages you Daemon snatched away. You're responsible for my father's death, the war that killed my mentor, and the best mage I ever taught. So if you think for one second I won't do what it takes to kill you, then you grossly underestimated the kind of humans you're dealing with. Salamander began to stir, feeling the fire inside of him. But this time Salamander did not tempt to quell it--he strengthened these flames. [break][break] You say you're not afraid of me? Laughing to himself, he smiled with a devilish intensity that rivaled Lysander himself. You should be. Kicking off of the ground, he offered Zaven a hand to grab. It was his once chance. The shadow mage had a choice; to grab his hand and soar into the sky or try and find the others and pursue the wells and citizens in peril. Fortunately Lydia would now be there to help them, but nonetheless it was still his choice. The shadow mage was his long time friend. The look in his yellow eyes down towards the Blake said everything words couldn't. He trusted the man and if he wanted to leap into the Abyss with him, then they would journey to Hell together. But he knew they had individual struggles to battle, and so he left this opportunity for just a moment. Then, he called to Lydia who had just contacted them. In words that only she would understand, Ardere took a breath. This was it, the only way to test his theory. There are still some sparks left in the ashes of my life. Light it up, Lydia. [break][break] Above the fire mage was only darkness and abyss, a nothingness devoid of life or light. Soon none of that would be true. Ardere aimed to invade the Palace Sven called home and burn it to the ground. Now he would hopefully be high enough to avoid his mana being used for unintended destruction but it was his only hope. You speak of arrogance, Daemon. But it is you who are truly arrogant and hubristic to think that you can claim Kikka as your own. That's your weakness, each of you seven Arch-Daemon are too selfish and vain to win. That's why I beat Malacath and it's why I'll beat you too. There was no hate in his voice, only confidence. Ardere truly did believe that humanity's strength was their power combined together. Today the Crimson King was empowered by his comrades.[break][break]-Tyr/Ryujin sustained
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] The communication spell went into effect and Zaven was informed; "Hello, Captain Zaven. You don't know me, but I'm contacting you on behalf of one of your squad members Hinota Yuiee. She is standing right next to me, and if you want confirmation, you can ask a question only she knows the answer to, and I'll relay the response back. We're at Charlotte's house and just fought against civilians clocked with illusions and a mana beast. One of our team members is...uh, currently under arrest, under the orders of Captain Jett. What is the situation over there?" The words seemed a little too convenient and the info came at a frightening pace. Zaven thought for a moment before starting off with a simple question. ”Firstly I need an answer...Ask Ms. Yuiee where we spent three days after our training in the Forsaken Region?” He decided that this was a rather...skilled way to figure out if it was real or not. He would wait to answer depending on what answer he had received. The news he received though was odd enough and hearing that there was a person being held under arrest, an attack on civilians due to illusions, and now they are at Charlotte’s house...who the fuck is Charlotte? [break][break]
IF he was answered correctly he would relay the following message; ”There has been miscalculation on our part as well...civilians disguised as mana beasts and made to attack us, daemons have been in contact with all members of team 1. We decided to take a hail mary and Captain Ardere activated his spirit and took to the sky on Salamander, but an unfortunate event happened and now team 1 is currently split among Kikka...we are currently unaware of their whereabouts, but captain Ardere and I are going to...well, we are going to take a stand and fight even if we have to risk it all. Continue pressing forward, do what you can. Evacuate any civilians and attempt to link up with remaining team 1 members...It is likely that me and Ardere are about to go dark.” He would say as he saw Arder stand up. [break][break]
However, if the answer was different than his...he would feed them the following information. ”The team is working on a way to destroy all the remaining wells of power around Kikka. Hold the prisoner and continue fighting and evacuating any civilians that are not an issue with your own survival.” He would finish before Ardere stood up. [break][break]
When Ardere began to flare up his mana again Zaven knew that there was a chance that they were possibly going to die...Yet Zaven saw the opportunity and he took the hand of the Crimson Lion captain, while also giving him the ring he had acquired minutes before. ”Let’s get this over with, also my friend, take this fucking ring and put it to good use. It seems to react to the mana linked to my own element...but also Salamander’s power seems to make it ebb as if it was hiding something further. This is meant for you.” He said with a defiant smile before he remembered something about the Shattering, a little snippet of deja vu that was tied to the forgotten tower. Zaven remembered the attack led by the Wizard King, Ardere, and Silas. Zaven showed up with the former Black Bulls captain and along with a handful of Royal knights they blasted through into the tower. With the Royal Knights and the former Black Bull captain heading down to try to buy them time. Zaven moved with the rest up to the floors just under the archdaemon that started this whole chain of events. When Zaven announced he was staying behind to buy them time...it was not a selfless sacrifice...he did it with a heavy heart, but he was also one of the reasons that mission happened in the first place. The PTSD brought on from the rebirth by blood was something he did not want to relive anytime soon...but Kikka reminded him of it, it was the innocence lost that made him grab Ardere’s hand. However it was also because that same situation happened at the tower...He was given a choice to go up and fight the threat that plagued the existence of all life...or to deal with the small fry...Zaven chose to remain behind, the threat scared him...he let go of Ardere’s hand then, but what if he had went with them...would Silas still be alive, would they have all died...would they have beaten the archdaemon? The questions drove him to become an alcoholic, he met new friends...connected with old ones and...found a flame which he thought he had lost when his fiance had left… [break][break]
He was not ready to die yet… [break][break]
But he was not ready to stay behind and become a side character once again… [break][break]
He let his mana rage freely as he would feel something inside of him release, he was feeling at one with the mana around him, and the mana felt like a finely made suit to him...tailored to each part of his body, it was sleek, handsome, and strong. His eyes would show determination, fear, strength, and hatred...he was ready to finish this hellish job and take some well deserved time off...if he lived to tell about it that was. ”Ardere, do not stop for anything, we will get to Sven and kill him together...that is our job. Do not take this on alone, we are partners in this...there was a reason we were allowed to still be here and not split up amongst the others...this is a defiant challenge. We will answer in kind.” The Shadow of Dawn said, his voice was cold and radiated a killing intent meant for Sven.
Sols words brought some hope back into Josephs pale pink eyes that were made closer to red by the darkness hanging everywhere. This was without a doubt a graveyard, but that wasn't a bad thing in this case. There weren't any corpses of the innocent sprawled around above ground that he could see. This made the location worlds less horrifying than the sea of fresh corpses that had been on Hangmans Hill in Raque. It was almost unnerving, the difference between the deamons here and the one that had been in Raque. Reading about it was so different than seeing and experiencing as much. It didn't seem like he saw Josephs map spell though? Unless he did see it but didn't think that it was good enough to count as good sensory skills? The better your sensory after all, the better your map was. Was he inadequate as an azure deer? To be part of the squad known for their sensory skills, even after making the map... “As far as I am aware, all azure deers have sensory skills of some sort or another.” It was something they were known for having, so it was okay to tell without much concern. Nobody should get offended by as much. He was someone with a specific talent for tracking that had joined a group mainly consisting of those with a talent for tracking.
Seeing Lydia pop up from the air had been unexpected thing. He read she would be watching over the situation on both sides, did it really look that bad that she would jump in? He hadn't seen her in the air, but it was sort of assumed that she had been there before. Well it didn't matter where she had come from now, as he had only seen her after she appeared in sight. It would have been nice if she could have kept in sight, but duty came before all else. Joseph still couldn't help but to smile. With her here it felt like he could say more with less worry. This wasn't the time to tiptoe around possibly soft egos, he shouldn't have been doing that in the first place. Cobborn stopped using his own map spell, causing reverberation to vanish away. Even if it was a bad sign, having her here might get everyone to act more cohesively. “Thank you Lydia, it was wonderful to see you again. The report said you would be above the city watching the teams coming into the city, but I'm still pleasantly surprised.” Her map had much more detail than his, but that made sense. He was still at the beginning of his own journey of growth, where she was a pinnacle many strive to reach. The other high ranked on the mission were also as amazing, but they didn't have the same air as she did.
Ardere seemed bad at working with others and better at protecting instead. Zaven he hadn't really gotten much of a feel for. The golden dawn captain had saved him though, maybe the feeling of guilt over Naxel clouded any feelings? Likely, as his feelings towards that man was both feeling grateful and guilty. Impressed was likely a feeling tangled up in that. At least being split up made that something he didn't need to face right now. but the crimson lion vice captain? She didn't waste time and went where she was needed. The woman seemed so no nonsense and had good teamwork skills. There was no mixed emotions concerning her from him. When Verena spoke, he wasn't exactly surprised, he just felt a little frustrated. “What should have told everyone that the shadow palace was up there was earlier when we were in the sky. It was darker and thicker, and it's also when we were split up. I also avoid fighting unless it's necessary even without agreements and I'm unsure how comfortable I would be in making deals with deamons who will leave more damage in Kikka than Raque had to face.” With that said he started walking, following the maps directions. “We're going to the well. If you keep speaking to those beings Verena, just know that the damage to the mind can cause more long term suffering and death than immediate killing.
The best illusions of vision or words are ones strewn with truths, and a heart that doesn't trust those meant to protect them is less likely to go to their protectors for aid. If the survivors of Kikka don't trust the magic knights after they are freed, then they might spread the distrust to others with their stories of what happened in their own opinions. Please don't let your heart or head get taken by those who are looking at things like a drawn out board game. Everyone in the group follow me.” Than again he also had no idea how good with directions Ardere was but... Zaven had seemed to have common sense? They could tell where the shadow palace was, right? “Sorry Lydia, I'll leave it to you to decide if Ardere and Zaven need the information of the shadow palace.” If he used a communication spell now, it would undo one of the reasons the crimson lioness had given them help in the first place. Was it okay to say all those dark things? But speaking any amount of dark truths was better than getting worried about Verena possible growing to trust one. Being honest didn't mean there wasn't something underlying or something unsaid. There were many ways to be honest and still not have the best of intentions. But then there was an underlying thought his hands ended up signing. ~Did anyone come into a city with an illusionist intending to not avoid combat?~
The very thought sounded like madness. Any wrong attack might end a human life. This was the sort of mission that requires being as careful as possible. They had things that needed to be destroyed, so there was a knowledge that not all violence could be avoided. This didn't change how bad assaulting a possible illusion could be though. His steps didn't slow nor falter, though there was a light heated burning sensation at the back of his neck. Worries prickled in every which direction from the orange haired young mans being, but at least he was confident in what they had to do. These feet moved with purpose and without falter, pink eyes looking at the map and surroundings. Anything missed could be bad, even if not every sight was to be trusted.
Stranger and stranger…minute by minute… [break][break] Yes. Chisana’s words rang true. This was a moment of silence. A moment of black and white, where they had a bit of reprieve, perhaps? Whatever the case, Rosalia was just pleased that she had a moment to look around and relax back at home. This was her original home since as long as she could remember after all- Kikka. The large city not too far from the Royal Capital. The place where she’d grown up, worked and trained. The city that shaped her to be who she was. Well, perhaps her life could’ve been more dreadful really. In fact, if she’d known her mother she was quite sure she’d say something quite akin to that. “There are people much worse off than you…” That’s the kind of mentality that the Witches at the Witches ‘Forest had either way. Other than being disgusted that she was raised by men and almost forced to marry of course. A little smirk rose to the beauty’s lips. [break][break] It quivered for a second as the male daemonic voice responded to her with something akin to rejection of a proposal she hadn’t even made. Then again, it was just a thought, he didn’t have to feel so flattered. Her grin widened. Ah yes, and then criticism. Well, perhaps most people didn’t deal with stress and death the way she did. Rosalia redid her ponytail and then stretched a bit, clicking her spine and moaning softly. “It’s okay,” she waved the voice off and finally looked around the area properly “I never really cared for your opinion anyway.” She grinned widely, letting her pearlescent teeth show. Hot or not, he could go back and rot exactly where he came from. [break][break] Chisana’s voice made her turn to the younger boy once more and nod. Finally, someone in this entire operation who agreed with her. “I sympathise with your opinion… but the only way I’ve always known of stopping a daemon invasion is finding the leyline that attracts them and killing their leaders.” She shared as she walked around and took a peek inside one of the houses. The beauty would then deftly climb up on the roof of the same house and look around. What was around them? Fuck. Nothing, she couldn’t see shit. She’d forgotten how this weird daemonic magic had worked. [break][break] “That’s how I worked through the Forsaken Region with Captain Blake, at least.” The witch rubbed her chin as she thought for a second. It seemed as though Chisana was doing the same. She smiled softly when he tried to psych himself up and think harder. It was a cute display. “The issue is that I’ve always had horrible sensory. So even if I tried to feel a leyline the best I’d find out is where the nearest scent of male cologne was coming from.” It was a joke. One that she made as her eyes finally find the name of the exact park they’d found themselves at. On a wooden plank, nearly fallen off of the side of the building it was hammered to. Her hand gently nudged Chisana as her mouth grew dry. They were at Viridian Park, probably one of the greenest locations in the entirety of Kikka, now befallen with ash, death and darkness. “Oh my God…I know where we are…” [break][break] The gears in the Vice Captain’s brain worked. The reports…As Vice-Captain she had been forced to read them. All of them, in much greater detail than some others would attain, but not nearly as much as the Captains probably knew. The fact was…she had the advantage of knowing her hometown. One that very few here did. She knew of all the abandoned buildings, of all the actual water wells, of the small river that passed by the west and the forest to the north. She knew of the churches and of the small bakery her friend Vienna had opened not too far from here with her young son…god Vienna. [break][break]
The large crater not too far off of where they stood had to have been one of those destroyed wells that she’d read about…Then would the wells be… “Chisana…I think the leylines we’re looking for might be represented in the form of those wells we’ve been hearing so much about. I don’t know if your sensory could find them, but considering how large Kikka is, I’m willing to wager they could be anywhere.” [break][break] The Vice-Captain bit the inside of her cheek. They had to move, and they couldn’t split up just for the sake of it. “ ButI’m also willing to bet that one of those wells is with the big bad Sven that we spoke with earlier…and the other two are either guarded by the other two voices or…if we get lucky, they’re roaming about and we only have to deal with an army of other Daemons.” [break][break] The witch grinned and thought about where she would put important valuable leyline wells if she was evil. “This city was my home. So now that I know where we are I can guide you through it.” A little giggle left her, “Hell I could even give you a tour, but sunny days tend to suit Kikka better.” Her smile then vanished almost as fast as it had appeared as she finally dipped into seriousness again. [break][break] “Chisana…If I was about to hide something valuable in Kikka, I would probably put it in the Sylph Church, the Jail or the Magic Knight Exam grounds…” Her eyes moved inquiringly over to the boy. They were closest to that large Coliseum where she still held fond memories of her exam. [break][break] “We’re closest to the Magic Knight Exam grounds, so I’d suggest we carefully but speedily start moving over there.” It wasn’t an order, but Rosalia was always open for input from the younger male. They had to be partners here, and for now she was the one with the knowledge of the town, but he was the one with the sensory, they had to work together…and pray they don’t happen upon Sven. Or anything else that could murder them both within seconds. [break][break] “Essence of Winter.” She spoke her spell as her grimoire flipped over to a new page, glowed a pale shade and covered both her and Chisana in a shielding spell. Then, if Chisana agreed, they’d move quickly over to the Coliseum that was the MK testing grounds. [break][break]
White Knight: Those with this skill can cause their defensive based spells and abilities cleanse debuffs. This mechanic works in the same fashion as healing does when removing debuffs.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Description: Rosalia summons forth a living barrier of gentle pale ice that swirls around herself and several allies of her choice. The barrier acts as an intermediate level defense spell that glistens under the sun, protecting the target from damage. If an enemy gets close enough to attack, however, the ice in the barrier will strike out against them, dealing intermediate damage and turning black.
This spell goes off of the projectiles/ammo/occurrences/ rules based on a mage’s control.[break][break]
[attr="class","florencetext"] It seemed the three younger mages understood what Lydia told them well enough. Verena would be the first to speak up telling the vice captain that one of the three deamons in the town was speaking with her which wasn't unheard of and Lydia had a feeling the the brown haired mage wasn't the only person one of the deamons had spoken with. The vice captain wasn't to worry that Verena was talking with one of the enemy after all if the women tried to side with the deamons Lydia could and would kill the younger women without a second thought. The glass mage was able to understand why the three junior mages wanted to avoid the fighting as they didn't have the most offensive magic among other things however it seemed they were letting Lydia make the final choice. Not having to fight any mana beast would be ideal however that's not a deal we can make. Yes it will make our job easier but those mana beast we let go can go and flank the captains or the two black bull mages putting them in more danger. I'll do my best to help you avoid traps while fighting and heal you if one activates. However the three of you are going to have to learn how to adapt or you're going to die. Lydia knew her words were blunt but she wasn't known to sugar coat anything and besides it was a truth they'd need to learn sometime. Ardere would then reach out to Lydia telling the vice captain to light up the place and as much as the vice would have liked to light up the whole town she couldn't anymore. Well I can't brighten the whole town anymore but I can help you out some. Lydia would close her eyes focusing first one the spare mana around her then on the crimson lion captains location before focusing on the shadow palace. Light Magic: Guiding Kal After Lydia cast the spell a path of light would appear in front of the two captains showing the two men a path to the palace. Follow that light and it should lead you to Sven but I'd hurry I can't keep that spell up for to long. The vice captain would then turn her focus back to the three junior mages. The captains are heading towards the shadow palace let's start heading to our well now. [break][break]
[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Ardere took the ring into his scaled hands, looking down at his shadowy comrade. Truth be told, the fire mage was not confident in Zaven grabbing his hand. The Golden Dawn Captain was a skilled mage, but his opinion of himself seemed to be lower than his true worth. They had been friends a long time but the Blake was just as likely to sacrifice himself for the betterment of the group--this is just who he was. Today he didn't have to sacrifice himself, he just had to hold on tight. I'm never going to leave you behind. He couldn't, not after all the comrades that had fallen. The last thing he'd ever do was leave his true friend in the darkness. [break][break] Admittedly the other Captain's words struck his heart like a blazing spear; painfully deep and seared into his heart. After all these years, they were going to enter this battle together and win. Zaven who had been shrouded in darkness for so long, and the man who's father was stolen into the abyss. It felt like fate for the two of them to be here--it probably was. We'll answer that bastard with one loud knock on his fucking door! Ardere smiled--he truly smiled. There was fire burning in his veins now as his heart began to race fast like a horse. His muscles pumped full of adrenaline as his soul prepared itself for furious battle. This was what he had waited for; the fight. [break][break] And then there was light. Glorious light. [break][break] Thank you, Lydia. His true confidante came through, not that he ever doubted her. There was a bathing light small enough to light their way and if his theory held true then he was to burst into Sven's domain. He'd utilize this fist his Vice Captain had given them and even if it was a small light, in the darkness it was a bright sun. Ardere held onto his comrade tight and flew up into the shadows with all of his might, blazing strength and all. There was no way he was losing Zaven today. They were entering the Shadow Palace together and together they would dismantle the pillars of abyss. Even if he had to destroy every single spec of darkness above Kikka; he'd do it. Don't let go Zaven. If I'm right then we're almost there! Grinding down on his teeth, his yellow eyes seethed with anticipation. I'm coming for you, Sven. [break][break] -Spell sustained another round
