“I knew what she meant Verena, it just got under my skin more than it should have.” A magic knight should always be calm and composed. His outburst before had certainly shown that the orange haired individual was a far cry from always calm. Maybe as the young azure deers rank grows, so would his emotional and mental strengths. Joseph didn't expect to go far up the ladder, but the junior also didn't want to stay at the bottom either. With experience comes new knowledge, more skills, and increased strength. This didn't mean those of high rank are perfect, but it did mean they were more likely to be able to handle everything better. If things were perfectly clear cut, than his senior would have had enough mental fortitude to not loose their mind. This wasn't what happened though. He had been a higher rank than himself, but had cracked totally for a brief time before being lost completely a different day. Cobborn knew that while he worried not acting as rationally as he should and had concerns about continuing being able to speak verbally, their mental state was solidly sound. This was not a recent development, nor was it earned in a way that they would ever recommend. Recovery from years of mental and physical torture had taken far longer than the pink eyed person would have liked.
Even after recovering, his own internal world had only sounds from others, not his own. This is why spells were activated by him through sign language, why outside of missions he still preferred to let verbal abilities slip from him. Emotions running high like right now meant doing unhealthy stuffing away of what he could to keep talking, making it only good for situations where communication could be life or death. If those emotions aren't unfolded later, he had a feeling it would have terrible long term consequences. Joseph wasn't going to take any chances when it came to his mental health where it could be helped. “You're likely not wrong about her magic Verena, but it seems a bit different if the bodies have their old memories...” He didn't know about how the mind was an echo, or that the echo would fade. Wraith magic was mostly unknown to him despite the heavy amount of books the young man had gone through in life. The thought to even try to research platinum tier magic had never even slipped inside until today, when it was too late. There was no time nor ability to sit down to try to find something on a library shelf that might have an answer of some kind to the fearful questions. The brunettes answer seemed like it would be accurate, but the idea of a corpse being able to function normally just didn't sit well.
Calling it a n oddity to the magic made sense, sort of? But his sound oddity didn't make his carbon matter magic any less carbon based. Even without the sound oddity, with the right shapes it still would have been likely able to catch sounds like it does now, though it would be much harder and not do it as well as it does now. Then again? Platinum magic might work completely different than his own gold tier magic. Now, what does he say to Chisana or Hinota? He couldn't argue against the thought that it might be a good idea to leave the wells alone, but on the other hand if it was that simple than destroying them wouldn't be so important. As for the golden dawn member? She was correct, it did come with the job. To try to protect people would mean at some point you would come across bodies. The idea of it still seemed so abhorrent though even if it was part of the job. “I don't know how I should respond to Hinota or Chisana...” Even if everyone in the group could have heard the sounds from the singing bowls that didn't mean Cobborn expected anyone else to know what to say either. But still, something had to be said. “Be safe.” This was to both lines before going quiet. He didn't want to cut the communication spell off yet just in case, but there was nothing left to say at this time.
Arriving to the wells location was a bit of a tense feeling, especially with more bodies there than expected. How do they destroy it? “My spear has an attack spell, but I don't know if that would be effective against a well.” He had never destroyed something like this. There wasn't exactly a clear cut guide on how to kill deamons.

The female voice was pretty, fleeting even. She then repeated her question to the male voice that her mocked her. In all honestly, she had lost all interest in talking to him. Sure, he sounded hot, but the rest of her thought about him she chose to keep to herself. Rosalia wasn’t one to bend or break from negative critique, after all. She’d heard it plenty. Chisana’s mind worked much more different, and she raised an eyebrow when there was an offer up of the black-haired black bull’s soul. What a stupid notion. These were cruel creatures, made of darkness, with an apathetic look on them as tools for entertainment and cannon fodder. [break][break] “Are you fucking insane.” Rosalia spat as she listened to Chisana. “How are you going to lead the Black Bulls properly if your will isn’t yours.” Now she was annoyed. She’d have to have this talk with Malcolm. The two weren’t planning on being leadership forever but this…this wasn’t an option she liked as an alternative. The beauty straight up went to the boy and slapped him hard across the cheek.[break][break]
“And you want to be the Future Captain of the Black Bulls with a bound soul to a daemon? Like hell I’m not getting that shit off you.” She huffed, absolutely pissed. One of the only people she could trust had just suddenly stabbed her in the back hard. The irony. “I’ll deal with you back at the base.”[break][break]
“I hope you both die a painful death.” She spoke up at the daemons, thinking back to Charles. Thank god she got him pulled together. Now she had to find a way to remove a soul bind? Good fucking lord the Bulls were a messy family. She’d read about possibilities but they’d have to be further researched at the Grand Magic Archives. At least they could now see where the fuck the traps were. They dissipated really fast. She sighed, maintaining her defensive spell as she stomped into the Coliseum, looking for that damned well. She’d take Chisana to friggin Azordesmon and Azisorius to get it removed if she had to.[break][break]
White Knight: Those with this skill can cause their defensive based spells and abilities cleanse debuffs. This mechanic works in the same fashion as healing does when removing debuffs.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Description: Rosalia summons forth a living barrier of gentle pale ice that swirls around herself and several allies of her choice. The barrier acts as an intermediate level defense spell that glistens under the sun, protecting the target from damage. If an enemy gets close enough to attack, however, the ice in the barrier will strike out against them, dealing intermediate damage and turning black.
This spell goes off of the projectiles/ammo/occurrences/ rules based on a mage’s control.[break][break]
[attr="class","florencetext"] Thanks to Lydia's map spell the four mages were able to arrive at the well without a problem. While the three junior ranked mages had all ruled out fighting the mana beast the glass mage didn't after all the safety of the kingdom as a whole was more important than that of the four of them. As they arrived at the well the vice captain would sense as well as count six mana beast instead of two which meant one of two things either the deamon no longer controlled the mana beast or she had lied to them. Either way it didn't matter to Lydia who would drop her mapping spell which they no longer needed this would also allow the other three mages to fully see Lydia again. Not that there was much to see as her expression lacked any emotion. The traps getting destroyed also didn't go unnoticed by her but the vice captain had other things to deal. [break][break] Lydia would then step out in front of Verena before the mage could even speak the words. It's just like they say if something sounds to good to be true then it isn't. There are six mana beast here not two which means you don't control them anymore or you lied to us either way the deal I never agreed to is invalid. Lydia's grimoire would then float next to her as cast a new spell. Light Magic: Caladbolg As the first sword of light appeared in Lydia's hand she would address the three junior mages. Make you choice now fight or stay out of the way it doesn't matter to me. As all her sword fully formed making it a total of four swords all together Lydia would send one sword each at four of the mana beast dealing senior damage to each if the spell struck.

It would seem as if the young Shengxiao was surprised about what was going on, even though they had been told by the daemons they'd answer their questions truthfully and did so it almost seemed too surreal for him. "I can understand, but they were people once and I care for them deeply." the woman said gently, there was no sign of her trying to mislead him. "It's understandable to label something due to ignorance, but, now you know and will do better I hope." she said with a warm tone. Upon hearing his words a blue symbol with a black border would appear on his left wrist. "I agree to your terms Chisana." her voice showed a slight hesitation in it but it seemed to be what he wanted and so wouldn't deny him protecting others. "It may not seem bad now child but feelings change over time." he said knowing it to be the truth.
Again by some miracle, the pair had avoided the traps, however, the younger of the two felt a pulling towards the well. He could feel the power it was emitting and right now he was acting like a moth drawn to a flame. "Careful, you wouldn't want to get burned." Ito stated to him breaking the traps so he was not in danger, he cared nothing about anyone else getting caught in the traps. Chisana, however, was different, he had essentially signed his soul over to his twin and he didn't want to upset her by harming the new member of her 'family'. "The traps have been shattered. I already told you, I wouldn't harm a servant of my sister." he said almost sounding bored by this point. "My gesture of goodwill doesn't go past you." It was crystal clear that Ito had no qualms of killing any other member of either group, but Chisana himself was safe from such a fate.
It would seem like the red-headed beauty was far from pleased with what her junior had done, but it was too little too late. "I don't force those in my care to go against their values." her voice was stern on this, she had never forced any of those she had welcomed to her graveyard to do anything that would go against their moral compass. To her they still had their own wills and desires, it was a little different when they became full wraiths, they had no mind or will left and it saddened her. It is why she did what she could to protect them as they had protected her. "His will, will always be his. He's not some mindless golem and I'm not some heartless bitch as much as you'd like to paint me that way." her voice showed she was truly hurt and offended by the other.
In her anger, she moved and slapped her own junior in the face "Please don't let yourself hurt but don't hurt her either. She... she doesn't understand." it wasn't an order but a request of her new servant, she added the last part about not hurting Rosalia knowing that her words now held sway over the boy and if she wasn't careful the allies would turn enemies very quickly. "It can't be undone without Lilitu freeing him of his oath and she won't, once sworn that's that." Ito added showing no matter what the beauty tried the marking would remain in some way. "We hope we do too." Lilitu said her words gentle once more, they were sick of the constant fighting and so wanted it to end. They knew they had committed atrocities over the hundreds of years they had been alive and so a painful death was getting off lightly in their minds. With everything said and done the pair moved into the coliseum where the well could be seen completely unguarded and without traps.

Ard and Zaven:
Sven couldn't help but laugh as the shadow of dawn attempted to 'insult' him by speaking too much "Perhaps your problem boy is you don't speak enough." he rebuked. The trickster daemon had anticipated that they would go all out, it was predictable after all they wanted him gone and he didn't want to go. He listened to the spells that the golden dawn captain called out, Ito the ever-observant researcher that he was had told him about some of these spells and the weaknesses that came with it. He knew he hadn't given Ito enough time to deep dive on everyone's magic, but he knew enough about their most-used spells thanks to the reports they gave to the wizard king in regards to missions and invasions such as this. 'He won't last long if he keeps acting so recklessly, how on earth did he make captain doing such things.' he thought to himself as he dodged the golems that had attacked him.
Two of the clones had managed to do the same but the other two weren't so lucky, however, as they were gone they were replaced with new ones, the two that had survived however did get wrapped up in shadow barbs from the rose garden spell. That didn't mean much as two more clones were made and didn't get affected by the debuff at least not right away. The one he had approached wasn't the archdaemon but one of his clones, in fact, the daemon and the clones had all spouted bat wings and flew up preventing the full damage from hitting them. "Still playing tic-tac-toe I see." he goaded the shadow of dawn, he was thinking too linear while the daemon was thinking outside the box expecting many of the attacks heading his way. It would seem his words had hit a nerve on the crimson king when he brought up his father.
"Aww, did I hit a nerve Firra?" he mocked chuckling "Are they really? Hm... I'll need to work on that." he seemed to be in deep thought but it was clear he wasn't taking the crimson lion captain seriously in any way. He hadn't taken into consideration that the 'young' captain would take to the sky like he had. Not only this but he had managed to activate a spell that encased his entire body in flames making him look like a lion warrior "Guess someone didn't get the memo that the lioness was the hunters in a pack of lions." he said chuckling. It didn't seem as if the shadow of dawn had any real way or intention of attempting to dodge what was coming down towards the pair of them. The attack had managed to destroy all four clones, it made no real issue to him as they would just reform in a few moments. Sven, on the other hand, had taken the hit but had countered it with one of his own.
He had swiped his hand an arch of shadow flying towards Ard, if it hit it would be enough to completely cut through the physical reinforcement that the fire mage had made for himself. "uh oh." he laughed a black orb expanding from him as purple runes in side the shelled darkness appeared "Let's make it interesting, the entire town is a mana zone meaning we are stronger but those who share our elements are too." he said the orb around him shattering as if it was made of glass creating an aoe that would do Arch damage to any and all who it would hit. Around both Ard and Zaven, a cocoon of light with darkened swirls would appear taking the damage. "Once it's broken I won't renew so do us all a favour and defeat him and quickly, no more holding punches use everything you have." It was Ito's voice he knew he had crossed a line he was never meant to be but what was his father really going to do to him? Kill him? Kill them? No. That was what they wanted after all.
"I'll deal with you later Ito." The archdaemon scowled "Not if none of us are around for it to happen, enjoy your fight father." his tone sounded smug as he knew the shield would repair itself so longs it didn't take to many of those kinds of hits buying the pair some time to actually come up with some sort of plan. "You believe you know a daemon's mindset Firra but you don't. I don't fear death, it is inevitable to all things even those who believe themselves immortal." he said as he managed to dodge all but one of the fire swords and the claws from the physical reinforcement spell before his own countered them. "I am always close to death, we play chess on Thursdays." he chuckled, there was no decite towards the pair, he honestly didn't fear the death he knew was impending. "I understand you saying that no man can come to terms with it, you are mortal after all but to say my kind can't come to grips with it is bullshit because you know little about how our kind operate. You take everything at face value and that is a huge flaw your kind has." his voice was cold as he spoke.
"When I eventually do pass Firra..." he moved to be stood on the ground next to what would be his throne a grin on his face "I will give him your regards." with that sven's appearance started to change, he was no longer the somewhat attractive young man that held aspects of his element over his hands but changed into a living shadow showing red and purple highlights. He had just entered consumption meaning the fight had just gotten to its peak. Everyone now had to be all in.

Lydia, Joseph, Verena, Sol:
They had come across the well the traps shattering, in front of the well still stood the six mana beasts who seemed to be minding their own business. They clearly weren't rampaging or looking hostile, if they were proper animals or even people it would be like a family socializing. It was true the daemoness hadn't got the number right, but again she hadn't lied or even hidden anything from the group. She had been forthcoming that the mana beasts couldn't hear her and that is why she had made the offer she had. She cared for these beasts as if they were her family. The thought of them being hurt was like a mother being told their child was dying and it was something she didn't want so her offer had been a selfish one. The three juniors seemed more than happy to attempt to take the peaceful route. Lydia, on the other hand, seemed to have wanted to take a more aggressive path.
As Verena was trying to chime up the courage to say the words to send them back to Lilitu. Lydia moved in front of them and told her in no certain terms that she had lied or she had no control of them and so she would attack them. Unsuspecting the mana beasts were hit and cried out in pain as their soft hides were pierced by the spell. "I didn't give it to you." the deamoness hissed "I gave it to them and you came in deciding you knew best without even listening to what those in your care wanted like a dictator but what do I expect from your kind." each word was dripping with venom "Had you took the time to talk to your juniors you would have found out they can't hear me but could be sent back by proxy but of course you believe you know best." she wasn't attempting to hide her anger, she was clearly pissed.
The mana beasts started to run forward ready to attack the ones that had attacked them, Verena however had finally got the courage to say words that caused them to stop in their tracks. It was in that moment though injured they ran off towards the direction of the purple orca base. "The only reason I am not attempting to kill any of you is I am bound to an agreement to a new servant." she said she wished she hadn't taken the deal with Chisana but what was done was done, she could just have her beloved children healed when they returned to her. "I do not have control because they can't hear me thanks to my father, if you do come across any of my children send them home. They are no threat to you, now destroy the well... let's end this torture." her voice was calmer but it was clear she was still upset.
With the well alone before them unguarded completely, the discussion turned between the group on how to destroy the shadow well. As they knew it may not be guarded anymore it didn't mean there wasn't more to it.
Story:
The deal was struck between Lilitu and Chisana, illusions and traps came to an end. The vice-captain seemed understandably unhappy about what had happened to the point she struck her junior. The daemoness requested that Chisana didn't allow himself to be hurt by his senior but at the same time not to hurt her knowing if she hadn't it would have left a chance that he would do whatever he could to make sure he wasn't hit. Lilitu made her stance clear that she had never made someone go against their wills or morals. She didn't want puppets, she knew eventually it would end that way if they ever becoming a wraith but then she would do what she could to protect him. She truly hoped that it wouldn't come to pass but nothing was certain at this point. Ito made it clear it was a mark that was on his soul and other than his sister releasing him from the contract it would be stuck there for eternity. They are now face to face with the well, it is free of protections but there might be more to it.
The two captains faced Sven and between them, they had managed to not only destroy the clones but harm him. He, on the other hand, had destroyed the attack spells of the crimson king before turning Kikka into a mana zone. Creating a black orb of shadow around him he released a grand spell aoe that now done archmage damage thanks to the mana zone being in effect. Ito stepped over the line of rebellion putting up an archmage rank shield that would not only heal the pair for archmage damage but shield them from the damage they were about to take. He warned them that when the shield was gone he wouldn't do it again. The archdaemon less than pleased at his son's act of rebellion and knew he had used one of his most powerful spells to protect them. It was because of this Sven decided it was time to go all out and entered his consumption form.
It would seem the group of three junior and Lydia had a difference in opinion. The crimson lioness moved in front of the unsure Verena stating that either the daemoness had been lying or she had lost control before attacking the mana beasts. This caused the daemoness to become enraged even though her hands were tied due to her agreement with Chisana. She made her thoughts known to the noblewoman, that had she asked she would have known that they were unable to hear her so made the agreement so they could be sent back by proxy. Verena finally spoke up as the mana beasts started dashing forward making them stop in their tracks before running off as quickly as their injured selves could towards the purple orca base. Lilitu stated the only reason she hadn't attacked was because of an agreement she made with a new servant.
Her voice was upset as she explained they were no threat to them, but requested that they end the torture. Two of the group had started a conversation about how they would destroy the well. It was true that there was nothing protecting it but surely there had to be more to how to destroy it. It is now up to the group on how they'd destroy the well not knowing the backlash it may give to them.

As they waited for the words to be spoken and the beasts to disperse Sol heard Lydia Speak as she walked in front of Verena and instantly his heart sank, grabbing his grimoire he opened it facing her hoping to stop whatever she had planned even if it was in vain. However before he could even try she was already casting a spell “DON’T!” he yelled trying to dissuade her from what she as about to do but it was too late. As the spell struck the beasts Sol turned and felt apprehension in his stomach as he didn’t know what would happen, Thankfully Verena had managed to speak the words and the beasts while hurt ran off towards a different area. At that moment Sol released a breath he didn’t know he had been holding before fury set in and he closed his grimoire with a loud snap that would likely make Joseph and Verena jump before the blood mage stepped right in front of Lydia.
“You’re a fool how you made vice captain ill never know, we had a plan and had all agreed on it but you jumped the gun because one little thing was off”he said to her his tone though calm was Icy and malice dripped off every word as his red slitted eyes gleamed at her like vicious Rubys in the dark almost glowing with his fury.”Do remember that not all of us here are knights some of us are civilians and your actions put all three of us at risk with that stunt, Ill be doing my best to keep myself Verena and Joseph safe but your on your own im not helping someone who is going think they know whats best for others” he said with a fearsome glare before he turned his back to her and he put his hands together in a praying motion. “my apologies for her actions I know it doesn’t mean much but I wished no harm on them” he said softly not knowing if Lilitu could hear him but meaning what he said. Looking back in the direction of Verena and Joseph he spoke again.”So now how do we deal with this well Iv got an attack spell I can use with my sword but that’s my only offensive ability besides swinging at the thing” he said as he took a deep breath to calm himself more.
It was hard for Sol to keep control of his anger at that moment since he had already had a brush with death once before and the fact that the vice captain had clearly thought she knew better had put them at risk which didn’t sit well with the blood mage at all.’ill be bringing this up with captain Ardere next time I see him after this no question’ he thought to himself as he drew his blade and waited for his team members answers while his blade glowed softly in the darkness sharp and ready to attack at anytime.

As the group made their way to the well, Joseph took this chance to defend himself from her earlier assessment. Saying that it just got to his skin. The Reinsberg could understand that sentiment; there were things that got to her and made her act up just as well. And she could tell that he meant well. He took his duty seriously and knew that it was unbecoming of one in his position. Though... admittedly Verena struggled to understand how he took it that way to begin with... but she quickly pushed the thought from her mind. She knew the reality of the situation didn't exactly call to prioritize it.[break][break]
The Deer also noted that Verena wasn't probably wrong about the magic used, but noted it was something more. She knew that Joseph was right, of course. There was no known magic that could be used to implant memories. She was trying to analyze the magic based on known human conventions but they were dealing with enemies that were not truly of this world. The magic that they were likely beyond human comprehension; effectively it was a fool's task to analyze something based on normal convention.[break][break]
It felt like she stood there for an eternity before she spoke. In what one felt could be their final moments, Verena realized that time seemed to pass exponentially slower. Perhaps that was why people were able to see their life flash before their eyes in what would amount to their final moments -- an entire life visited in an instant, and ended just as quickly. That was what it was to live, after all. That was what it was to die.[break][break]
Maybe there was no need to be afraid. In a worst-case scenario, the Vice-Captain of the Crimson Lions was here, after all. She was known as the fastest mage in all of Clover-- perhaps even in the entire world at large. Her magic was even faster. But that still meant having to put her life in Lydia Ravencrest's hands. In a Magic Knights hands. That had already occurred five years ago, and she was nearly killed for it... though the situations could not be even more opposite if she was to give the other some due credit.[break][break]
That was right, good magic knights were the rule, not the exception. That was what she had gone into Kikka believing. Not because she thought it true; she still had far too many concerns and memories, but because she had to. The moment she doubted the moral integrity or intentions of the others alongside her was the moment she was likely to die in some way. So she had to believe they were just.[break][break]
"It's just like they say."[break][break]
Verena didn't even have the time to say the words yet. Lydia had moved up from the pack, making herself known. Whether or not she was still invisible was did not matter. Calm, and composed the Lioness had set her eyes upon her prey--these intruders who did not belong in this town as she readied to attack them.[break][break]
"If something sounds too good to be true, then it isn't. There are six mana beasts here, not two. This means either you don't control them anymore or you lied to us. Either way, the deal I never agreed to is invalid."[break][break]
No.[break][break]
No, what was she doing?![break][break]
Verena panicked, but the mana beasts were still alive. She wasn't going to give up. Lydia was stronger. She was more experienced. For all intents and purposes, the Crimson Lion's Vice-Captain had every reason to believe the words she said. And Verena could not fault her for that.[break][break]
Yet, Verena knew that if a fight was to break out, she [Lydia] would be fighting all of these on her own. If that was to happen, the brunette knew that the Vice-Captain could not ensure their own safety. The fact these mana beasts were still alive was all the proof she needed to know that they were far stronger than she herself was. She wanted none of the violence.[break][break]
"Go to the cemetery! Lilitu is waiting for you--she misses all of you...!" she said with desperation in her voice, instead of the calm manner she had attempted to say it in earlier.[break][break]
...Thankfully, against all odds, somehow it worked.[break][break]
Lilitu was livid. Ah... this was it. She was going to attack them. She was practically screaming inside the brunette's head it felt like. Surely, the group was going to come under siege because of Lydia's assumption. But an attack never came. Verena looked around, fearfully. Sol seemed like he was about to have his own heart jump out of his chest, a sentiment Verena felt as well.[break][break]
"The only reason I am not attempting to kill any of you is I am bound to an agreement to a new servant."[break][break]
...Verena did not like that, in truth. There were many ways to take that. Had someone in their group sacrificed themself? Had they taken their own life and joined her rankings? It was possible, but... Lilitu also didn't refer to the undead as 'servants'. Only as her 'friends'. If that was the case, then... it was something else. Similar, yet different. [break][break]
While Sol was yelling at Lydia, Verena was contemplating the implication of those words but realized that as open-ended as the sentence was and as little as she knew about the twins that there was no real way to figure it out. She instead addressed her attention to the well of shadow before the group.[break][break]
At the moment she didn't pay attention, but the well had no reaction to the Light magic Lydia used. In other words, it either wasn't responsive to magic in its general area, or the range in which it was capable of doing was much shorter. She had heard that someone had managed to destroy one of the wells by jumping into it, but Verena was not so foolhardy as to even consider attempting that.[break][break]
"Summoner Creation Magic: Gaia's Blessing. Summoner Creation Magic: Phaunus' Gift. Summoner Creation Magic: Arachne's Heartache." she said aloud while presumably, Lydia was doing whatever to Sol.[break][break]
Unless it seemed like the Light mage was about to attack Sol, Verena paid no mind to it. It wasn't important, because she knew why Lydia had done what she did. In truth, she sided with Lydia in a logical sense. It was best to minimize risks and the fact there were a different number of mana beasts was proof something was off. Even though Lilitu explained that she had lost the ability to communicate with these beasts despite their loyalty to her, the fact was she had given them a number of two.[break][break]
Lilitu was clearly aware of the group's own position, and even if she lost the ability to communicate with her mana beasts, she still was able to keep an eye on at least some of their mana signatures to list a number. If she could keep track of their of some of their locations, why couldn't she keep track of all of them? It seemed inefficient for Sven to only block some of her connections.[break][break]
This was Lydia's way of protecting the group, Verena knew. In the moment it terrified her. There was no way to know what was going to happen. Lydia was not at fault; she had never agreed to the deal to begin with. She had only said that it would be preferable to not have to fight. Admittedly, the brunette wasn't going to act as if the Vice-Captain was a saint here. She knew that if it came to it, Lydia could fire off a spell in a worst-case scenario where the mana beasts did come to attack and it would almost definitely be far faster than anything that a mana beast could keep up with. She could have waited.[break][break]
...But that was easy to say at this moment. It was easy to say that because the best-case scenario had occurred, and so it was easy to point fingers. She knew that if the mana beasts were hostile, Sol would not be so aggressive with Lydia right now. He'd be thankful for her protection, as none of them could hope to fight against those beasts.[break][break]
She had summoned all of these golems to form a wall of a sort, summing as much as she possibly could. Three of each type of golem she could create summoned in a blockade manner for a three by three in front of herself, Joseph, Sol, and even Lydia even if the Archmage did not need such a low level of protection. Between the three, there was enough to stand a little more than Senior damage in a perfect scenario, but it wasn't going to be enough, she knew, so she slowly retreated to put some distance between the well and her golems, but not enough so she'd be more than ten meters from her guardian golems--the furthest she was from any golem was just a little more than nine.[break][break]
Verena read the reports. She read them over and over. She knew every detail by heart at this point. These wells would explode from excessive magical energy, and she knew that there was nothing she could do to minimize it. It probably wouldn't take too much force to destroy the well if Lydia was the one attacking it, and she was under the assumption that she would. After all, the only one in the group who could attack was Verena with her golems.[break][break]
"Sol, Joseph," Verena called out. "I'm sure you're both aware, but we're going to be in danger if we're too close to the well. Rather than getting into the moral argument with the Vice-Captain of if she should have attacked the mana beasts or not, we need to give her space. None of us are going to be capable of destroying that well without getting harmed."[break][break]
Verena glanced at Lydia. ...She was grateful for her involvement for the intent behind it, but she did wish she had practiced just a bit of patience--a luxury, Verena knew, only because things had worked out as well as they did. Her expression showed trust--if things did go wrong, she was having to place her faith that she would protect the group. However, if Lydia had another plan that would involve the juniors being able to put even more distance than what was currently possible for them, Verena would likely follow suit--such as flying away.[break][break]

COMBAT SUMMARY

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR she just tries focusing on the well to see if she can figure out anything about it now that she has a chance to closely examine it. summons 9 golems by wasting 30 mana to summon it. her mana count is honestly probably more than 35 since they've been out of combat for awhile, but it'd be a little difficult on me to get the exact number. either way, she wouldn't be out of mana. she seems fully expecting of lydia to destroy the well, as she's the one with the most ability to do so. also attempts to make a barricade of all the different elements she currently has access to to try to (except sound) and steps back nine meters away from the furthest guardian golem, an unspecified distance from the well but probably has at least more than 20m between herself and the well. she puts the golems in front of joseph, lydia, and sol. however if lydia has better options for them to remove themself from the area, verena would prob accept to gtfo.[break][break] [break][break]
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia of course knew attacking the mana beast was going to make Lilltu mad why wouldn't it after all she was actively trying to get the group to not kill them. The vice captain also wasn't surprised that at least one of the juniors weren't happy with her choice. He made that very clear but in all honestly she didn't care and most of his points were laughable at best. She would of course still meet his gaze and while his was on of malice and anger Lydia's showed no emotion. If I'm a fool for attacking what could or couldn't have been a threat what does that make you? After all you were willing to take the enemies word at face value. Tell me did you run into mana beast after she told you that phrase and knew it worked before hand or did you just put your faith into what she was saying was honest? I'm also well aware that you and Verena aren't magic knights and are just citizens but you chose to join this fight to take back Kikka you've been at risk since this whole thing began. [break][break] However the moment you lost the protection of two captains and the reality of just how at risk you were when I attacked the mana beast sank in and if I had to guess you didn't like the idea that you might actually die here. I've accepted the fact I could die here but my life isn't worth more than that of the safety of the kingdom as a whole and let me tell you something I don't view your life worth more than it either. You might being willing to risk the safety of the whole kingdom for a few people but I'm not. As for you claim of not helping me if I need it I expect as much. After all if we run into something strong enough to beat me in a fight you'd be better off running away if you weren't already dead. The vice captain would then pause for a moment before looking towards the sky or lack of it thanks to the darkness. Now then Lilltu I understand your anger you don't want to see those you care about hurt or killed it's respectable and I feel the same about those I care about. However it seems you weren't paying as much attention as you thought as I did hear what those with me had to say and made it clear that this deal you offered them wasn't something I couldn't agree with. [break][break] You act like your race is so much better as if you wouldn't have made the same choice I did if or roles were switched but tell me if it was your people at risk if the enemy was lying would you have agreed to that deal? So let's say I agree to not attack anymore of your mana beast you've already made it clear you can't control them. So tell me how can you guarantee they won't harm anyone else in the other teams? As Sol spoke to Verena and Joseph about how to deal with the well the brown haired mage would speak up herself talking about how they should let Lydia handle the well among other things. Sure it was possible the well wouldn't hurt them because of whatever deal Lilltu made with her new servant but there could have been a loophole that if they harm came from there own action that she wouldn't have to help them. There is no telling what will happen when I destroy the well so I'd rather the four of us be a safe distance before I do so. Light Magic: Hildr The vice captains appearance would once again change back to that of when she first appeared to the three juniors. [break][break] All three of you get on my back so I can fly a safe distance away we can't bring the golems with me on back however Verena. As the three juniors got on her back if they did Lydia would let all but one of her light sword vanish before putting the last one two meters away from the well. With everything in position Lydia would take of flying eighty meters away from the well. However once they got seventy six meters away Lydia would send the light sword into the well before covering the rest landing and letting the juniors get off. Joseph can you get in touch with the two black bull mages and see how things are going on there end. Also if any of you are getting low on mana let me know and I can help that problem with my healing magic. Lydia herself would then reach out to Ardere and Zaven. Captains I've lost contact with Jett I'm not sure if he's dead or alive I'm however going to reach out to another person in the other group. The person in question would of course be Hans and a golden halo would appear over his head as she spoke to him. Hans this is Lydia how are things going over there with your team and do you have anyway idea what happened to the purple orca captain?

At this point, Rosalia didn't have time for these daemons and was hoping that Zaven was doing better than they were. The witch just walked into the coliseum, looking around for any of the "wells" mentioned in Charles' reports. She maintained her shield spell over herself and Chisana, despite being pissed at him. The woman was no monster. Once she spotted it, the witch recalled the crater that the death of the previous one had caused. [break][break]
"Chisana your golems would be useful here, I think this blows up when destroyed based on our previous location."[break][break]
The Vice Captain of the Black Bulls would then stepped far back, looking around cautiously.
White Knight: Those with this skill can cause their defensive based spells and abilities cleanse debuffs. This mechanic works in the same fashion as healing does when removing debuffs.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! "The King and the Dragon.."
[break][break] Inside himself, Ardere found strength. Sven's words cut through his pride like a knife, but he would not so easily be destroyed. As his form fell to the ground, the Captain clutched the air with all of his might. After being hit by the Daemon's attack, his mana skin was damaged. It appeared to be of no consequence as the Daemon spawn known as Ito helped them. Satori's words rung through his ears. Was this the hope he had long been waiting for? Thanks, Ito. I won't waste this shot. [break][break] You think you're so much different than us, but you're not. Daemon and man. We're the same. Play things of Devils and Gods long have we been, but neither of us resign to that now do we? We're two sides of the same coin. Wiping the dirt and stale blood from his brow, his wounds had been healed as his foot stood firm on the darkness beneath him. You put up a good façade Daemon, but how long will that last when I show you a light that burns away all of this shadow? Salamander began to stir within Ardere, their power amplifying. His skin began to peel away to reveal smoldering white flame, a purifying flame. This was his Archmage spell. He took no time to prepare for his attack or to charge up. Ardere leaped into the Hell scape that was now this Shadow mana zone, right towards Sven. With all of his physical prowess, the Kasai leaped into the air effortlessly. His power and strength were now so immense that everyone in Kikka could feel it. Even Salamander's flames now turned to a pale white, a crown now opposite the horns on his right side. [break][break] With ferocious intensity, Ardere utilized his combined strength and speed to unleash an onslaught of attacks on the shadow Daemon. First he went for a direct jab, then ducked to sweep his legs before kicking off the ground to slam his leg against the Daemon's ribs. Even if his hits did not make contact, the sheer force would be enough to shatter stone and dent steel. This quickly flurry of blows took only a mere moment before the Captain leaped high up into the air with his full strength--this was to give Zaven an opening. With Amaterasu's Blessing, I'll shake the heavens. He felt his ancestors and the old Gods smile down upon him as his purified white form took to the sky. He only needed one attack for this. The Flame Emperor would not make his appearance alongside the Crimson King. [break][break] Sven had created a nearly impenetrable veil of shadow, but nothing was unbreakable. There was no mountain the Kasai could not climb, no matter what it cost him. As impressed as he was of this power, he knew it was time to end this.

His eyes turn a glowing white and a flaming aura gently shimmers across his body. This spell also grants him the ability to heal himself or others. Due to the Master Healer perk, this healing allows him to essentially regenerate limbs instantly. So this spell is the perfect melee spell as he can leap into battle and dish out punches that could level city blocks, and heal himself at the same time.[break]
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] ”Zav...master...this being is too strong, and the man you fight with is...his spirit it, overwhelming me.” Hraban spoke telepathically with Zaven as the archdaemon literally took all of what he had to offer and basically laughed at him. Calling him out on speaking, bah...that was rich. Talk was cheap when two old monsters such as Ardere and himself, making plans akin to having weakness brought to life, the pair would work in tandem and for the same goal...ending the life of Sven...no matter the cost. So when they were pressed back and then shielded as the shadow domain went up, Zaven felt a surge in power and when Ardere raced off to fight Sven Zaven watched as he waited for an opening. His other spells had failed so he was left with little options besides just going for broke [break][break]
Inside of his head, he mentally said goodbye to the people he cared for...past and present. Silas, Ardere, Rosalia, Malcolm, Rosaria, Cyrus, Arthurius, even Hinota at least. He had no problems leaving the world behind now, and he had no qualms about dying here. He was at peace, and the smile appeared on his face. Ardere’s little words meant little to him and when the barrage was started. Zaven went ahead with his own plans. [break][break]
”Shadow Creations! Ripping Shadow, followed by Erebus Strike!” He called out as Ardere made an opening. Zaven launched the .75 meter shuriken in the trajectory of Sven, should Ardere be pushing him back. Then with a follow up the Shadow bow in his right hand, he drew back the drawstring and let the shadow arrow fly, it would home in on its target...being Sven. Both spells would be powered up to Archmage in power, and speed. Zaven continued to hold the spells up as he hoped this would be enough to finally hurt this fucker. ”Smile you son of a bitch.” Zaven said in a final fuck you to the daemon.

Lydia almost lead to all of them dying. Maybe she hadn't come to help them survive the mission, but rather to try to get it done herself. The crimson lions were known to be strong and noble, but also reckless. It was too easy to imagine her capable of tossing them for the sake of the mission. But there had to be a way to ease away the fear that she might put everyone at risk again for what she thought was for the better of the mission. Joseph couldn't blame Sol for his words. Though not loud in sound, what was spoken certainly had weight and volume that a high sound wouldn't have been able to copy. He had seen the lioness in Raque though. At the least, he knew she thought she knew the best way to get the mission accomplished. “Why would her father let her know how many he put around if he suspected anything of his children?” This felt like a safe thing to say. It was countering what Lydia said without trying to start a fight. But then the vice captain did speak. The womans words were not taken by him well. ~Her own light is blinding her eyes if she thinks she's the only one working for the better of the country.~ His hands silently signed these words in frustration. The woman wasn't listening to anyone, then pushing off responsibility.
“Such reasoning only works if the death wasn't needless. Everything would have happened without casualties if you hadn't attacked. The only reason we aren't dead is due to something that happened with the deamon, not your actions.” He wasn't going to leave anything out of his report. Why were some people so bad at listening? Lydia was intelligent, powerful, observant, and stubborn. She likely knew how much more capable she was than everyone else in the group was, and so saw less of a reason to listen to anyone there besides herself. It was a bit easier to trust Sol and Verenas actions, as they were two people that seemed not to let confidence cloud their actions. Then again the three were at junior level in terms of strength, so it wasn't much in ways for them to grow over confident in skill or strength. ~Will I grow blind with confidence if I get too strong?~ That was a question silently aimed to himself. Cobborn didn't expect anyone here to know sign language, so it was a way to talk to himself publicly without any words getting picked up. The young man could use it any time he wanted to focus and calm down. Both of these things were important, especially now. “Lying wouldn't have helped her achieve the goal that she wants.”
He wouldn't accept that might makes right, or that her being superior in so many ways meant that she always knew best. If those of higher rank were always right, then Naxel might be here in this mission instead of him. Even the higher ranked magic knights were not immune to being imperfect humans. All humans were flawed, including the powerful. The deep colored orange haired individual made a face when the woman suggest they get on her back. So far all she had done is do her best to ignore everything any of the three say and command them around. She was acting in such a way that they might as well not be there at all. But he didn't have any time to respond to that as Hinotas voice sounded out of one of the music bowls that was his communication spell. One of his gloved hands touched the bowl, bringing it closer before speaking. “I can hear you Hinota.” That sounded dangerous, but it made sense. There were many writings that spoke of siblings and twins being naturally close, and these two seemed very close. “I will pass the information along to Genisis and ask Lydia to pass it to Hans. Thank you.” He hated information going through more people. There was an effect where information had a bigger risk of being modified the more people it went through, especially if passed verbally.
They didn't have the luxury of passing written information right now though, only verbal through communication spells. Yes, everything in a communication spell technically happens in the head. This doesn't change that everything heard still sounded verbal. His own spell could be heard by any nearby on his side, but that was due to the shape of the communication spell itself. He looked over to the certain person who hadn't been listening to the three at all so far in any way. At the least she would send this message, right? “Lydia, could you send the information to Hans? I'm going to switch my second communication from Chisana to Genisis to pass it to her.” Should he repeat the information to her? Well he was going to say it in a moment anyway. If the crimson lion hadn't heard the golden dawn member then maybe she would hear this. Taking the second sound bowl, he adjusted the sounds it took in before speaking into it. “Genisis? I am Joseph Cobborn, a junior from the Azure Deer on the team on the other side of Kikka. Hinota asked me to pass on some vital information. Bring Ito to the point of death death, but don't actually kill him. It will be safer for everyone to let the deamon siblings come together and meet their ends that way. ”
This wasn't what he was expecting. There was now a better reason to not get on Lydia, the need to focus on transmitting information. This was vital information to make sure as few people got injured or killed as possible. Of course the deamon siblings would retaliate if they could not die together. If the two were this dangerous while helping them, then how bad would it be if their most beloved family died first? It was a chilling thought. There was no way that would end well, nor without death.

His comrades were safe, the civilians that joined them only had to worry about one problem and that was Sven. Things were simplified and it was worth it, Chisana was fine with being soul-bound to some other being if it meant he keeps his group save for just that much longer. The disappearance of the traps and the other servants was a relief on the young Shengxiao’s mind, no longer did he have to worry about some insane illusion that he wouldn’t be able to see through and trigger a trap that could instantly destroy him. [break][break]
“I simply do what I must and if it means we make it out of here alive then so be it.” Chisana spoke to Rosa, he understood her anger, but it didn’t make him regret his action. He made his choice off the best course of action he could logically thing of, whether or not it would come back to haunt him was for the future to figure out. Chisana peered at his new marking, he would be able to cover it up easily to keep from prying eyes, he would need to hide this fact from the majority of the people he knew besides a select few that wouldn’t go and report him to the church or kingdom for this great taboo. No one was generally accepting of anyone making deals with a daemon especially when the deal basically makes you someone’s servant forever. Chisana’s mind didn’t focus on the disappointment he heard from Rosa and her slap was simply a sting that spoke of the Vice Captain’s feeling for one of her juniors. It was time to use this small boon to its potential, it seemed they needed to destroy the well that was in the center of the Arena. [break][break]
“Don’t worry, you and the Captain will be around long enough to find a proper replacement.” Chisana mentioned to Rosa, his dream of becoming Captain of the Black Bulls was becoming more unlikely of being fulfilled with this development and that was a load of thoughts and feelings he would have to get time to properly deal with but for now he would have to push it to the side while he focused on what he was doing. Rosa’s suggestion that his golems would be useful gave him direction on how to act.[break][break]
Relaxing he focused on bringing his mana into action and his grimoire begun to flip to the pages as needed and he let loose casting Falcon, Basilisk and Soldier summoning 1 of each golem forgoing summoning more to concentrate his magic into those single units strengthening each one just a bit more. He wasn’t sure if that would be enough, so he went ahead and cast 2 more spells feeling the strain of casting his limit of spells as he Summoned a strengthened version of Man and Serpent his Junior ranked golems.[break][break]
“I don’t know if I’m able to destroy it myself but let us see what I can do." Chisana said as he mentally gave the order to attack the well to his golems.

Sol knew what was going happen wasn't going to end well for the group, he even tried to call out to the vice-captain to get her to stop, but it was too little too late as the spell had been cast and the damage done. Still, Verena had stated the words required to send the mana beasts back to their owner. It hadn't stopped the black-haired civilian from voicing his displeasure on the course of action that Lydia had taken. He said that the pink-haired woman was on her own, he would do his best to protect Verena and Joseph from what was to come because he pretty much didn't feel comfortable trusting the vice-captain with their safety. After his words to Lydia, he turned his attention to Lilitu apologising for the injuries on the mana beasts within her care.
"All people see is the darkness, they don't care how things came to be as they are now. We are used to it." her voice sounding somewhat depressed at the realization that things will never change. "It's sad that Ito is right, he said the wars will never end because the gods are cruel." she wasn't hiding her words from the group, they could hear it. It would likely strange for them to hear that a daemon wanted their brother to be wrong on wars ending, more than that that the brother believed in a divine power and that it was their fault everyone was suffering as they were. With that done it would seem like the attention once again turned back to the well and how to destroy the thing. The three juniors weren't equipped with offensive magics, all three of them where support mages but even if they weren't they wouldn't realistically have the power to destroy the well.
Even with the weapons, it would seem like they didn't read the reports that would have told them that the wells had always exploded upon destruction. An explosion had been heard from the other side of the town, a signal that another well had been destroyed meaning other than this well there was only one left. Lilitu had listened to Verena and Joseph as they tried to figure out how her magic worked, it wasn't really that hard in her mind but then did she really want to explain how her magic worked given the situation. Not really. "You are both quite wrong." she said simply "Mortals are able to accomplish what I have with my wraiths, it is just very difficult and draining to do." she explained, outside of that she wouldn't go into it further it would be a waste of her time as far as she was concerned.
It had seemed like the brunette had put two and two together realising that one of their group had sacrificed themselves for the protection of the rest of the group. It was the same yet different as the wording showed, but no question was asked and so no answer was given on the matter. The summoner decided to call upon her summons to help with the destruction of the well in front of them, she didn't want to get into the yelling that Sol was doing at current, it wasn't exactly helpful in this situation. "Do you remember when Ito and I blocked sight of you from our father, he did the same thing to me... a punishment..." her voice sounding sad as she explained an unasked question that knew was likely in people's minds, it wasn't that much of a leap given it was the reason Lydia said she attacked.
"I hope the bastard is given a painful death." her voice sounded cold and bitter, the beings she cared more about than her own life had been injured because her father wanted to prove a point to them. They were his children sure but they were still only pawns to him and were not above being shown such. They both knew he'd never kill them so what they treasured would always be attacked as a way to get his point across. There was also the fact that she was keeping an eye and having a conversation with more than just them, plenty of different factors could have come down to why she hadn't given the right number of mana beasts and because of it, she had almost lost some of them. Verena had read everything and memorised the reports so started to move things into place to try to defend them as much as possible.
The brunette called out to the other two juniors informing them that they would be in danger if they stayed to close to the well, and so they should get back allowing the vice-captain to deal with the well. She knew that arguing on whether if Lydia had taken the right course of action or not was useless and it was just delaying the end to the reason why they were all there in the first place. She trusted the vice-captain to look after the group and it showed on her face, she just hoped everything fell into place because if the vice-captain had another plan that would give them a way to get further away from the well of death she was all for it. Just so longs it didn't involve her running due to her curse.
Lydia had taken everything that Sol had yelled at her and remained calm the entire time, she knew that at least one of the group wasn't going to be happy with what she had done. In her mind, she had done what was required to keep them all safe and would do it again without a second thought if needed. She felt Sol's weak arguments were laughable at best but still she didn't show her internal thoughts. She put her own counter-argument against him her voice holding no emotion to it. She continued saying she knew that he and Verena were civilians but they knew the dangers when accepting this mission and so he couldn't fall back on that excuse. She continued her verbal onslaught holding nothing back.
She told him that they had been in danger the entire time they had been in here and after losing the captains protection and with her actions it was only then the fact of the real danger he was in set in. She informed him she didn't value her own life higher than that of the kingdom's safety and she sure as hell didn't value his life any higher than her own so it was nowhere near as important as the kingdom's safety. She informed him that where he may be willing to sacrifice the entire kingdom for the few she wasn't and nothing was going to change her own mind on that. She also made it clear if it was something strong enough to take her out then she'd expect him to run if he wasn't already dead. It was then she done something unexpected and spoke to the daemoness directly, which had caught Lilitu off guard but she listened intently to the pink-haired lionesses words as she had everyone else's since this whole thing started.
"I thank you for your kind words and understanding, but I can't see them all. He's stopping me. A punishment. I honestly don't want them hurt... It's why I gave the words... they can't hear me or I would have brought them to me already." she sounded like she was ready to break down in tears like a mother that was worried about her lost children. "I can understand your reasonings, your home is in danger... your loved ones..." she whispered showing a true understanding to the vice-captain. "My race is screwed up beyond belief, my father thinks it's better but... the fighting for survival gets tiring. It is why Ito and I have tried to better ourselves but all that is seen is our race by your kind." she said gently to Lydia, she wasn't deceiving the other the exhaustion was clearly heard in her voice.
"If the shoe was on the other foot you would be correct I would have taken the same actions as you, those I cherish even now come before all else." she would confirm to the other "I have given the phrase to the groups, so longs they mention to return home to the graveyard they will listen obediently. It is how I welcomed them into my family." she said honestly "I gave those words for my own selfish reasons, no deal was really struck or there would be markings on everyone that agreed and none will be found." she spoke quickly as if the lives of those she cared for were on the line. "Put yourself in my shoes, if your brother was in the crosshairs and you could get him back to you safely by giving your perceived enemy safety to do so would you?" her voice was trembling as she spoke. "I have no place to call home, my family is an idiotic father who needs to destroyed, my twin brother and those within my graveyard... my graveyard is to me what your kingdom is to you."
She didn't know if the lioness would believe her but she was being truthful. She had no place to really call home. Ito had helped her long ago by saying her graveyard was her home because that is were those she cared for lived and so that was as close as she would ever get to a place she could realistically call home. "You don't want those in your kingdom hurt and I don't want those within my graveyard hurt either... so like you would do anything to protect your home I would do the same for mine, so if that means I can guarantee that that phrase will work always." she said her words not faltering in the slightest. "Don't worry, they like yourself are in no danger of what that well can do. I made a deal to protect everyone in this section of the city and I am bound by my word, strike it and I will put up a shield around it." it was that simple to her.
"By the way, Ito and I don't loophole anything we stay to the letter of our deal and don't use exploitation we aren't like our father." she said with a bit of disgust in her voice knowing that due to her mentioning a deal with a new servant what would likely be thought of given what happened with Artemis. "O... oh... um... Lioness..." the daemoness seemed hesitant to reach out to the lioness especially about the information she was about to give her but made sure only she could hear it. 'Your younger brother. Hania. Ito just informed me he fell into a coma and it is a bad one.' She had no idea how her brother had so much insight into things.
It would have to be something the lioness would have to ask her twin she was just passing on information. "My brother doesn't joke about this kind of stuff, I don't know how he knows half the stuff he does but he doesn't really lie. Now I think of it, I can count on one hand how many deals he's made his entire life. He is the hardest of us to do such a thing with." she said as if it was something that she completely forgot about. She listened to the request that Joseph had been given she could have given the update requested but she hadn't been asked, she had her own thoughts there but she wouldn't voice them as it really didn't concern her. "Jett is still alive, I just don't know where my father put him." she explained not really wanting the other to worry about that too much, she really did how her father moved people like pawns in a game.
Joseph had his own thoughts and feelings on the matter of Lydia and her way of doing things, he had pointed out that why would Sven allow certain things to happen if he thought his children were rebelling. It was a smart way of thinking especially with how manipulative Sven had shown himself to be. It was then he began to sign believing that no one would be able to read his words. Again he pointed out a fact, the only reason that they hadn't been attacked was because something had happened with the daemoness and not what Lydia had done. He was wondering if he got stronger if he to would get the same sort of arrogance he perceived Lydia of having. He also did point out that Lilitu lying to them did nothing for her to achieve the end game she wanted which was true.
It was then he heard Hinota's voice through the singing bowl "Joseph, it's Hinota can you hear me?" she would ask the other which was met with the fact he could "I... I need you to contact Genesis or Hans and pass a message on for me. They need to injure Ito but they shouldn't kill him. He and his sister should be given the ability to come together pass away in that way. It will be far safer for everyone involved." she informed him "Oh, tell them not to touch the birdcage." she tacked on at the end knowing that it was an important piece of information, she would give more information if requested but she was hoping that would be enough to at least have them stay their hand on the matter of trying something foolish. As far as she knew some of her group were hotheads and wanted nothing bad to happen.
It was then he gave the information given to him to Genesis requesting that Lydia give the information to Hans, the only issue was that Lydia wouldn't have heard the communication. Completely ignoring the fact that Lydia asked him to contact the black bull group to find out how things were going there. The fact of the matter was that Joseph didn't trust Lydia in the slightest, but then he didn't really have to trust her, they just had to work together when ordered to and that would be a rarity at best, most of the time as squads usually done things together and not with others.
With the casting of Lydia's transformation spell in place, she would grow tall enough to be able to carry the other three juniors away as a pair of white-feathered wings came from her back. She moved to become a valkyrie and flew out the perceived danger range before deactivating the spell, all but one of her swords of light vanished. With her final remaining sword, she directed at the well where it hit its mark unhindered, soon enough a giant explosion would be heard but unlike elsewhere when the other explosion was heard no damage was seen. The moment the sword had gone through a pure aura shield went around the well taking the damage that would have caused damage and taken any life in the area.
"I am a person of my word, I said to my dearest prince I would protect the citizens of this town against our damage in penance for being forced to break my word to him. I also made an agreement to my servant that I would protect any within this side of the town for them." She said to Lydia more than the others, if they went forward they would see a ten-meter wide hole that was around thirty meters deep but everything else was perfectly intact "Can you trust my words now lioness?" she finally asked Lydia, hoping this was a good enough show of faith that she and Ito would keep their words to the best of their abilities. Lydia herself would get in touch with Hans soon after however to find out how they were fairing and if they knew where the purple orca captain disappeared to. She would be in quite the shock to find out that Jett hadn't been delivered to that group when the parting happened.
Soon enough a portal appeared by them "You should leave while it is still safe before you walk through state where you want to be and it will take you there." she said not wanting any of them hurt by what was going to happen soon enough thanks to the fight that was happening above them.
~~~~~~
Chisana and Rosalia:
The vice-captain of the black bulls seemed to be over the entire thing, in fact, even though she was stronger than her junior she done nothing to attempt to help destroy the well. Instead, she instructed Chisana to use his golems to do the work before stepping back to look around. She was quite right to step back two explosions heard off in the distance showing either huge battles were happening or wells were exploding. Of course, it was smart to use the golems to do the damage as there was less likely chance to put them at risk however, Chisana would have to be close to the well to what was asked of him. This left a sour taste in the daemoness's mouth that was for sure as it was clear the vice-captain was stronger but wasn't willing to help even from a distance.
Chisana didn't much care that his vice-captain was pissed at him at the end of the day he saw it as simply doing as he needed to, to complete the task while keeping people safe. He knew the chances of him becoming vice-captain or even captain had vanished when he made that deal but it was something he could live with. With the traps gone, the ability to send the mana beasts away and the illusions dropped he knew no one really had anything to worry about other than Sven. Then again the big bad daemon was above and by the noise coming from the sky, it was clear fighting was taking place within Sven's shadow palace. He understood his vice-captain was angry but what was done was done and if he had to do it again he would without another thought.
He made what he believed was logical, he didn't take into consideration if it would come back to bite him in the ass in the long run. Peering at his new marking he knew he could keep it hidden from people, he knew there would be a few that wouldn't report him but still the majority of people would and he knew that would end badly for him. What he had done was a severe taboo not only for the kingdom but against the church. No one was really accepting of people who made deals with daemons more so if they make you their eternal servant even if they weren't like normal ones. He didn't listen to what Lilitu requested of him instead he took the hit from Rosa proving that he had his will in place, this proved what the daemoness had said was in fact true. It was then he decided he would use the boon of his agreement to his advantage and take care of the well.
He reassured Rosa that she and Malcolm would be around for a good long while to find decent replacements so they shouldn't worry about it. He would need to wrap his head around the thoughts and feelings of likely having to give up on a dream he had been chasing for a while but he pushed that to the side as he dealt with the task at hand. What the red-headed beauty had suggested was enough to give the young black bull a nudge in the right direction on how he should proceed. In quick succession, he summoned different golems using differing spells. He was unsure if he would be able to destroy the well on his own but he was sure as hell going to give it is all, as proven when he sent them forward to attack the well. Each gave the best they could, at first it didn't seem as if it was going to be enough but eventually, the well exploded, quickly around Chisana a secondary shield appeared around not only him but Rosalia.
Her shield would have been destroyed by the aftermath even stripping them of their mana shields, the agreement Lilitu had made was that no harm would come to anyone in the group to her that included the person's mana shield. "Are you safe Chisana? I wouldn't want you hurt." the daemoness legitimately sounded worried as the arena had all but become a crater other than the areas they had been standing on. "All wells are destroyed now. I would suggest getting out of town because eventually that palace will be destroyed and I don't know what will happen." she was honest to him and opened a portal for him to have safe passage to Hage village. A pure aura path connecting his island to Rosa's island appearing before turning into solid earth allowing her to get to where the portal was and leave with him.
~~~~~~
Ardere and Zaven:
"I would hope so." Ito stated in a blunt tone, he was sick of what seemed like a neverending cycle for himself and his sister. They were quite ready to leave the world quietly but while their father was around it was something that would never be allowed to happen, they were his children, his servants and that meant he owned them and their lives. The twins had done everything they could now to help achieve their selfish goals now everything was in the hands of the ones that came here to save the town and protect their kingdom. Perhaps, they could finally rest but only time would be able to tell on that one. He had to admit it was a strange sensation to be thanked by the enemy but then again one of them had flirted with him until he nipped that in the bud. It was neither the time nor the place for such interactions even if he had found her attractive.
Sven was irritated that his son had not only interfered with his fight against the pair but that he had rebelled in such a way that he had used one of his strongest spells to protect them from him. "Celestial Darkness is the name of the spell he used on you both." he said clearly irritated. It was one of several archmage spells Ito had at his fingertips. It used both the elements dark and light, while active it would shield three times archmage damage and repair itself every so often while healing the one inside it for archmage damage thanks to the archangels blessing on the spell helping to regenerate their mana. Sven wouldn't tell them any of this but then again it wasn't exactly like they could miss the effects of the spell itself. He realized that he had been to enthralled with his own games that he didn't keep a close enough eye on his children who had clearly acted out against him and he intended to put their rebellion to an end at the end of all this.
"I never claimed I wasn't a pawn in a larger game." he said with a smug smile, he knew exactly that that was the case and it wasn't like he could run from the fact. "I wouldn't know about that Firra, everyone plays their part while alive and when death comes a new chapter begins for those who survive." It was clear this was how the Archdaemon truly saw things, as far as he was concerned he done what was required of him and when he was finally killed it meant that his duty to the lords he followed had been fulfilled. He was just a single thread in a much larger and more intricate tapestry. "No facade here Firra I assure you. As my son likes to remind me light and shadow are at constant war but are required to remain in harmony for the balance of the universe." he rolled his eyes wondering who the hell put such nonsense into his boys head because he would love to torture them.
"Where there is light there will always be shadow and vice versa Firra it is just the way of things." this was karmic law and nothing would change it. He could feel the power swell within Ardere, he watched as the spirit dive started to take place with Salamander, he would be quite fascinated by it if he wasn't in a fight with a pair of captains that wanted to end his existence for once and for all. Wait, it seemed he was wrong it was true that the power of the spirit was swelling inside of Ardere but it wasn't a spirit dive, no, this was an archmage spell that the other was pulling out. It was clear he was no longer playing around and wanted to put an end to everything. With the spell complete he moved towards Sven at his max speed thought the daemon was prepared and managed to move out of the way he was still hurt by the heat coming off the intense flames. The physical onslaught didn't stop there and though he did his best to block, dodge and strike back all he was getting was hurt by the heat from the flames without being able to dent Ito's shield.
He was on the defensive at current and so couldn't even get the momentum to cast a spell, any moment that he could it wasn't enough as another blow was aimed towards him. With his attention taken up by Ardere he couldn't keep an eye on the shadow of dawn. The darkness held even with all the light that was around them though it did shake the shadow palace starting to make it start to crumble and fall around the trio. Being as distracted as he was it had left an opening for the other captain to go on the offensive and he took the opportunity without hesitation. Three spells were released in quick succession and where he managed to overpower two the last hit at the same time as Ard's final strike had causing the Archdaemon to seemingly fade into the shadows of his palace that was now crumbling and falling to the ground quickly "Hurry, it's about to blow up." Ito's words rang out a portal appearing allowing them to leave and appearing just outside of kikka where they could see the fireworks first hand.
Story:
It had finally come to an end, the wells had all been destroyed as had the shadow palace itself thanks to the combined efforts of the teams that had come to Kikka to deal with the shadow palace and the never ending darkness that had come with it. For now the darkness remained but in time it would start to fade away at a rate that wouldn't affect those that had been living within it for over two months. What was to come noone would be able to foresee but with this threat over and done with they could move on and enjoy some peace before whatever the future held for them came.

Verena said nothing as the other two Juniors expressed their dislike towards Lydia's actions. She was glad that a Magic Knight was willing to speak up towards a superior like this, but ... this was undeserved, she felt. "...Sol, Joseph," Verena calmly asked as she looked towards the two.[break][break]
"The only reason we can be upset with the Vice-Captain was because we weren't attacked. The fact is we were given information that later turned out not to be one hundred percent accurate. There was thrice the number we were told. Don't misunderstand; I share in your anger. But I realize that's something that's only a luxury. We can't afford to take chances."[break][break]
"If we had been attacked, we would not be upset with her. Lilitu was right, and we were right to trust her. But Lydia was just doing her best to protect us in a worst-case scenario because the information given to us wasn't accurate. Something was amiss, and we were all told to be on guard for instances like that. If you can't understand that, then I must strongly ask you to rethink the scene and the moments leading up to it."[break][break]
Verena glanced up towards the darkened sky. "Forgive me, Lilitu. I mean no harm by my words, either. I am glad we placed our trust in you because it allowed for minimal blood to be shed. ...In a perfect world though, none would have had to be shed. Thank you for reaching out to us. I do regret that we raised our hand at all though after a deal was made."[break][break]
Lydia readied a spell that would allow for the group to flee from any potential devastation that Verena was expecting to occur. Only once the group was a safe distance away did the Ravencrest launch a spell that allowed for the destruction of the well... but no explosion ever came like she had read in the reports. It was a very strange occurrence, but one she was thankful for. The one she read in the reports was quite destructive, so she was thankful that it was contained... she wasn't quite sure how, but she had a guess, one that was confirmed when a portal opened up and a voice spoke up.[break][break]
"You should leave while it still safe. Before you walk through, state where you want to be and it will take you there," the daemoness said.[break][break]
Verena's brow raised, looking back to Lydia, and to the portal. Where did she want to go? She admittedly didn't even know. She had been to many places, and there were none that really stood out. There were none that made her feel 'safe'. There was no place that she wanted to be at.[break][break]
She had been all over Clover in these last five years. She had seen many things. It wasn't to say she had experienced everything, but there was just nowhere she really wanted to be. Only people she wanted to be close to.[break][break]
A thought crossed Verena's mind. She could visit Suna, but... Hans was probably with her. And she did not want to intrude upon the two. No, she needed a place that would allow for plenty of thinking. A place where she could work it out. A place where she could make up her mind. The daemon twins had given her plenty to think about. She needed quiet. She needed...[break][break]
Verena took in a deep breath as she stared into the unknown. If she was to lead her family, she needed to go back to where everything started, no matter their opinion. She had every right to be there, even if she would not enter the premises. Before she could lead them into the future, she had to first get over the past, and embrace her beginnings.[break][break]
"I want... to go home. To the Reinsberg Estate," she said before entering this portal.

Sols eyes narrowed as the vice captain brought up her own points questioning him on if he was a fool for taking the enemies words at face value and also that he and Verena had accepted the risks of this mission when they signed up for it. The last part Sol didn’t argue with but he was not done with this verbal war far from it.”I'm someone whos more patient then you from the looks of it we had the jump on them and you couldn’t have waited to see if the words would work first before jumping for your magic like a battle maniac, and as for trusting the enemies words lets just say I trust her far more then I trust you right now Vice Captain” he said with the last words being icy. She then proceeded to grill him on how he wasn’t ready to die here while she was as well as mentioning that she didn’t value him and a few others over the kingdom as a whole which made the blood mages eyes go wide before he did something unexpected he chuckled.
Sol gained a rather eerie smirk on his face as his ruby eyes peered back at Lydias.” Funny you mention the kingdom let me ask you Vice Captain do you really think the people in this town see this as part of Clover Kingdom anymore?, that they see themselves as Citizens of the Kingdom?".he questioned before he went on before she could answer.”I’ll bet even Yul that the answer they will give is no, these poor people have been in darkness for over two months with demons ruling the town and mana beasts roaming the streets. Food is scarce no doubt and no aid has come until just now, I don’t think these people will ever trust a magic knight again and will never be able to see the knights the same way ever. As Far as the People of Kikka know The Magic knights turned their back on them so why trust them” he criticized harshly. He turned to move away but he decided to say one more thing.” Also if your dear younger brother was trapped here for 2 months would you be as willing to sacrifice all for the kingdom? Answer me that” he questioned before he heard Verena talk to both him and joseph and he sighed.” That’s true but at the same time like I pointed out we had the drop on them it wouldn’t have hurt to have tried before jumping to violence it was a risk that could have turned out disastrous. I understand your point of view but at the same time I don’t apologize for what Iv said and I stand by my words I hope that does not cause any friction between us” he said his tone was calmer and his face was set in a more relaxed manner.
hearing Lilitus words Sol bowed his head solemnly .”it is sad but true I wish you peace Lilitu and if by chance we meet again somehow its under more friendly terms” he said softly. As they got clear for Lydia to use the spell to destroy the well he saw the portal open up to allow them to go home as long as the destination was spoken. Watching Verena leave first Sol stepped up after here “I want to go to the Shinryu Estate I need to rest and meditate on todays events” he stated before he would step thru the portal and back to his home with his face calm but his mind and emotions less then stable.
