Still staring into the mirror the captain of the Golden Dawn was feeling that voice inside of him telling him just how much of a piece of shit he was, the feelings he was experiencing were a mixture of his own and the curse mark from Hinota. Whatever was going on back with the group he was feeling heated and his ears burned as the blood was rushed to his head. ”FUCK!” he said as he brought his fists down into the sink, breaking it into small pieces. He stood there breathing heavily as the others around the area noticed the shadows moving a little as if afraid of what lies at the epicenter.
Looking at the fractured mirror he just broke he noticed that the shadow cast on him at that moment made him look more sinister as he closed his eyes, began to breathe slowly and deeply, and counted to ten. At the end of the countdown he sighed as he came back to the real world and no longer cared about the shadows. He did not listen to their advances and the curse Mark even began to ebb away. ”It is becoming a bigger hassle to shut down the voices that tug at my mind and the feelings that scratch at my heart...but yet I can’t let go...why the fuck am I so bad at this…” He said to himself before finally walking away, making sure to check that there was no blood. Once done he left a sack of yul with the attendant that stood by speechless in awe and in fear of the confusing man before him.
Walking back outside he began to just wander, to be honest he had absolutely no fucking idea what to do next, so he just wandered along the perimeter of the tree.

As Shizuyoru announced her intention, asking the pair of them to help her in her next performance, it didn't surprise Siobhan much when Verena side stepped it rapidly. Fortunately, she didn't seem to bow out after a moment's thought, instead offering to aid with the help of some golems. This brought a small tweak to Siobhan's eyebrows in an appreciative manner. It wasn't as though Golems were particularly rare, but it was still a treat to meet another mage who employed them in lieu of say, raw offensive magic spells. Golems were versatile, far more so than simply lobbing a thunderbolt or fireball at someone.
Siobhan nodded after Verena's words, "I don't have much of an ear for music either Shizu. Of course, your magic would do all the hard work for it in the end. But Verena's idea has some merit. Why should you be the only one to add a bit of magic to the performance?"
Siobhan polished off the rest of a sweet apple, crunching it with a casual, nigh sloppy manner that was a complete antithesis to Verena's careful approach. The brunette's trained manners were almost painfully obvious to the casual eye. In contrast, the blonde ate like someone who hadn't for days and saw eating as less of a chore, and more of a quick necessity. It wasn't that the forest lacked table manners, at least not from Siobhan's experiences, but she didn't see the point of going for much decorum in casual company.
"If Verena can lend a few Golems, I could as well. We'd still be involved mind you. Most Golems are little more than pretty puppets." As the idea percolated, the witch looked at the doll-like woman, "If anything, it might even be a good bit of practice for us. I don't believe I've ever had my own golems pantomime a musician before. They mostly just help me carry things, or defend me. Or serve as stand-ins for people in compositions I'm working on."
It was a sort of compromise between the three's interests. It really just came down to what Shizu wanted to do. Siobhan's mind was already debating what sort of golem she might employ for the idea.
Ozmas eyes widened a bit as he heard that his sister had nearly killed her captain twice by as Zaven countered all of his harsh words the mute knight was brushing them aside until he heard something that he had never heard before and it was so surprising that it snapped him out of his anger instantly as he felt his fingers lose their grip on the brush as his sister yelled at him angrily and as she did it actually caused the elder Yuiees anger to cease and he took in his sister words as she said she didn’t want any part of him or the family, as she tossed her pins from her hair down he felt pain inside from the words he never thought his own sister would say to him. When she told him that until he made peace with her captain she refused to work with him as well he felt his eyes sting with tears before he dropped to his knees as she walked away from him.
Ozma had never been given such an ultimatum before and it hurt badly, his family was precious to him and despite what his mother and father thought of his sister he still cherished her since she was his only sibling and he knew it was wrong to harm her even if it was verbally.as much as he was still angry at the captain of the Golden Dawn he didn’t want to lose a member of his family and if he had to suck up his pride and shelve his anger then he would. Gently grabbing his brushed and Hinotas hairpins he pocketed them before he wiped his eyes and moved to search for Zaven so he could make amends. It took a few moments but he quickly found the man wandering around the perimeter of the tree. Ozma moved to approach him but his body language and stride did not show anger instead it showed nervousness .
The moment Zaven would see him Ozma would look down before he took a deep breath and bowed deep, as he did it revealed his neck to the captain which was a show of vulnerability since if the disrespected captain wish he could kill him without a second though. After a moment he would rise and use his paint to make words that were instead of red a soft shade of green.”Captain Zaven Can..Can we please talk what I just did was dishonorable and disrespectful and I am in no position to ask after my actions but I promise on my family and my sister I will keep a level head and not be disrespectful again” he asked in the paint. Ozma would then glance up to look at Zaven and there was no anger in his eyes just nervousness and worry as well as sadness from what his sister had just said to him. He made one more word in the paint. “Please”
Suna had thought that she was starting to know the mercenary more and more. How wrong she was. As Hans ‘revived’ from his downed state, the elf bit back a smile at how eager and happy the children were at seeing their hero back in action. He certainly had a way with children, and they viewed him almost like a cool older brother. She also had to wonder what it would be like if he was a position of a father...
But at that, she stopped herself from thinking further. Instead, she had sneaked that peck on his cheek in order to distract him from her true intentions—getting her ornament back. Of course, he probably would have handed it over if she simply asked, but what was the fun in that? And besides, she felt rather smug when the poor man reddened a little and the onlookers all made various noises and expressions at her little sneaky act.
"Learned it from the best." Suna murmured back, though any further exchange would be interrupted by the crowd of little people. She nodded in approval when Hans also encouraged ‘his’ gang to teach ‘her’ gang on their fighting forms. A mutual exchange. Not a bad idea. She looked down when she felt a tug on her dress.
"Um...Sorry for taking yer ornament, lady..."
"Just don’t do it again, all right?" Suna smiled and smoothed back the long brown locks from the boy’s face. "Go ask them how to make your own ornament." She gently pushed the gang leader towards the direction of the other leader. She waved farewell to the two groups, glad that they had come to a truce for the time being. The couple had started walking away, but then she looked back one last time...to see the young female leader kind of reenact her earlier scene on the rival leader.
"Aww..." Suna was clutching on his arm, pulling on it and motioning with her head for him to look back. Her smile threatened to split her face in half. "That’s so cute!" She sighed happily. It was a good ending, at least in her book.
"Made me feel sorta like a fathe-"
Suna was sure her eyebrows must have shot up and off her face. "Oh?" It seemed like he had similar thoughts about that scenario as well. She did not speak more or press him on the topic, but stored that little snippet in her heart for the future. One day, perhaps...
But now he was finally showing the mysterious ornament, and Suna had stopped walking, full of anticipation. Even when they went to Aries Garse, he had been careful to keep it from her sight. But now, she could finally see what it was. "Oooh, it’s so pretty..." She gently touched the top of the ornament with her finger, feeling the nostalgic memories and implications that came with it. "Did it represent your mother and your...your parents?" She had hesitated, not sure whether talking about his father would trigger any negative memories.
"She loved it very much...and it...reminds me of yo-I mean...us."
"I’m sure she did..." She said gently. "Reminds you of...us?" The corners of her mouth quirked up a little, and she studied the two angel figurines and their positions. She now tried to mimic their positions, tiptoeing and attempting to lean her forehead against his. Her hands reached for his, and attempted to intertwine it with her fingers, the ornament clasped between their hands. "Like this?"
Her blue eyes would look steadily into his dark ones, momentarily mesmerized. The rest of the world had faded away. All that she could see was the man in front of her. That sweet moment did not last long, however, as she remembered they were still in public. She blinked a few times, suddenly a little shy. She did not know what came over her to act in such a manner, but he always seemed to bring out a soft side of her.
"You know," she quipped, "if you ever challenged me to a staring contest, I’d definitely lose." Then she would pull away and laugh lightly. "Let’s go hang our ornaments up together, shall we?"
NOTES & STUFF
OOC: Ahhh so sorry for the week long wait! ^^; Ornament:
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Seeing that the hustle and bustle around the tree made Zaven ready to honestly just go stand near the portal point that Elanor set up. He was thoroughly done with the night, but now that he thought about it, his spirit had taken off as well, no doubt to get into trouble, so with a sigh the Golden Dawn captain just sighed and shook his head before that familiar mana signature approached again. Zaven did his best to suppress his own confusion and doubt, and even a little anger before the Crimson Lion, Ozma Yuiee approached and spoke up and gave a bow before the Shadow of Dawn. Zaven wanted to sigh, he understood etiquette and submission all too well as the showing of his neck was as if submitting one’s life, but Zaven just returned the bow and watched and read what the young man had to say. It was not a lot and he could tell that there was...nervousness in it. Finally when he was asked please, Zaven motioned over to a bench and actually let out a sigh. He would sit down and wait for the Crimson Lion to sit before he finally began to speak. [break][break]
”I am all ears...well I guess eyes since you do not speak. So you have the floor, what is it that you feel the need to try and submit to me. The only beings you submit to are the gods, your partner, and captains. I will not strike you, as I have told you, and you made things abundantly clear moments ago. So by all means you have the floor.” Zaven said as he crossed his arms, his tone was still monotone and his stance was guarded.

[attr="class","glentext"] Charles was able to feel the rage coming from Zaven's part, he was able to see that just by looking at his face. The face of a man who was holding back a lot of things. The man who apparently was Hinota's older brother was at his peak in terms of ignorance, then again he wasn't surprised at all. The man in question was someone from nobility, noble families had stupid rules that had to abide and the children of those families were meant to become someone they didn't want to be. The Golden Dawn Captain didn't have it easy, being a Captain wasn't an easy responsibility as good as the payment was. Not only that, being the leader and the strongest person inside the squad it was only natural for him to feel guilty if he failed to protect one of his members. It showed how much he cared for the people on his squad. Even though the silver mage wasn't someone from the Golden Dawn, Zaven placed a lot of trust on him. Something no one would do for someone who was a member from the Black Bulls. [break][break] Anyway, he knew this was nothing of his business so he'll let Zaven deal with it as he desires. Unfortunately, his first encounter with Captain Zaven after months wasn't what he previously anticipated, he shared the sentiment as he did. "Yeah, we'll catch up to things someday. It's been a while, after all. See ya, let's talk one day." As the Captain waved off, the silver mage scratched his head and left the place. He couldn't be bothered to waste more time on other things, might want to get that ornament placed. As he came out of the alleyway, his grimoire rose up emitting a light green aura as it floated right beside Charles. Extending his out, he created an owl made out of silver in front of him. He just hoped that it didn't attract a lot of attention, he dealt with a lot of things as it is. The Black Bull got on top of the owl, taking off and making its way towards the Yule Tree. It was impressive to think that such a big tree required flying in order to manage to place an ornament. [break][break] Eventually, Charles flying high in the sky looking for a spot to place his ornament. He was trying to get this done quickly, the current weather wasn't enjoyable for him, and being high in the sky just made him feel even colder compared to being on the ground. Sometimes he wished he had some sort of heater with him or fire magic to make him feel warmer. Either way, the silver mage found himself alone looking for a place to put that ornament as soon as possible. Unknown to him he was going to encounter two familiar faces very soon... [break]
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Hearing an "aww" come from Suna, Hans looked over to her before feeling the pull against his arm. "Hm?" Turning around, Hans managed to catch a bit of the gentle peck that girl gave to the boy. The merc smiled lightly at this just as he heard the elf speak up again. He had to agree, that little moment was kind of adorable. It certainly brushed away any fears of those "gangs" sinking back into hating each other, but it would probably still be sometime before they all fully get along.
Hans decided not to elaborate on the comment that nearly slipped out of his mouth. Although the idea of becoming a...father wasn't new to him, the merc still had a long way to go before truly considering this...that on top of his doubts of being worthy to actually be one....Perhaps one day, but for now...
The merc finally revealed his ornament to Suna, something that belonged to his mother...that belonged to his past. She asked what the ornament represented, and the moment Suna brought up his father...Hans' light smile faltered. His father....is the last person the dark mage would think about when looking at this ornament. Instead, the merc just told Suna how much the ornament means to his mother as well as comparing it to themselves. Just telling her that it doesn't represent his father in any way would only dampen the dark mage's mood more. He wanted to look at the positive things in is past, especially during this time of the year. With that, Hans was able to regain his little smile, but then he found himself...being brought in close to the blue-haired woman.
Forehead against forehead, fingers intertwined...Hans just looked into Suna's gentle blue eyes, not blinking once. It was just like the ornament Hans was holding, now lovingly between both their hands. Just like that, the brief worries about Hans' father were swept to the side and Hans found himself at peace again. The merc leaned in closer, wanting to boldly steal a kiss, but the nosy whispers around them were growing more apparent to the both of them. "if you ever challenged me to a staring contest, I’d definitely lose." is what she said, making Hans chuckle lightly. "If it's anything like our last challenge...I doubt there will be any losers, Suna." Hans whispered in...partial jest, giving Suna a quick peck before they both pulled away. "Yeah, let's go." Hans nodded in agreement and held his arm out for Suna to wrap hers around if she wanted to and headed towards the tree.
Soon they would arrive at the towering tree where many other folks were standing about along with some of the locals who were offering food to others. Hans' attention was on the tree, surprised at how tall it is up close. He then looked at his ornament of an angel couple in his hand and looked for any free spaces on the tree. Fortunately, there were still some spots left and the merc started to ponder on where to place his ornament, but as he did, the man started to sense a familiar mana signature coming from above. Looking up, Hans would see a silver owl flying by the tree before raising an eyebrow. "Charles?" The merc said, but doubted he would hear the dark mage from down there. The silver mage must be looking for a spot to place his ornament as well....which gave Hans an idea. Why look for a spot at the bottom when he could try for one around the top as well? Unfortunately, Hans didn't have his greatsword with him, which meant he didn't have his raven golems...but looking over to Suna, it seems like she brought her broom with her.
"Maybe we'll find better spots up there as well." The merc whispered before gesturing his head a bit towards the elf's flying broom, assuming she hadn't found a suitable spot for her ornament on the bottom part already.

Joseph wasn't expecting to get noticed by the group, not when he was near other strangers. The face as a whole covered by the hood and his scarf and standing a certain distance away. Then again, how many sign and how many of those knew anything about Raque? One didn't need magic to know it had been only two people and only one of them had been male. Maybe he should have walked away before eyes could catch a glance to the quiet speaking of the hands. It certainly hadn't felt appropriate to watch, and yet they still hadn't looked away. Getting noticed now was his own fault for staying around so long. Enough to see things get worse before Zaven had left all together. It was like getting stuck between a rock and a hard place. It had been months since last seeing Hinota, last seeing her when they agreed to have tea together next time. This wasn't the time and place by far, but he wasn't sure when he would spot her next. The young man also didn't like the idea of her thinking so little of how much she accomplished in Raque, making it all the harder to just walk away. She had a poise during that time that had been enchanting. It felt that way even after she explained the truth at that time, the emotions building up and how she kept together only by the reminder of her vow as a magic knight. She had been having just as hard of a time as him the whole time.
There was something very wrong to him with her thinking that she did so little. But more continued and it seemed another person left. From all the words it was safe to assume that the one who had just left was her brother. These bits of information just confirmed that it had been a good idea to stay out of it. All of that had been between Hinota, her captain, and her brother. No part of any of this hadn't sounded intense, like catching the bad tail end of something he shouldn't have. This was no longer a situation where he could just sign things while standing away from the situation. His plain shoes started to silently move against the street as movement returned to the legs. With everyone gone besides her, it meant that the golden dawn magic knight was left alone after splashes of different emotions. It made sense to get hurt by words, but hadn't those two been speaking to her out of concern for her in the first place? This wasn't exactly how he expected things to go during the event. Cobborn had thought that he would avoid everyone and hope to not hear anything of his mother from random passers. At this season the young man had typically spent time reading somewhere in a corner quietly as family practiced their musical talents. Christmas trees weren't purchased, but on some nights a yule log had been.
The wood would crackle and burn, the embers starting from the one from the year before. There would be special foods on the later days, but the peachy haired individual would eat lightly so as to focus more on other things. None of the old memories included a year on the holiday where he simply relaxed and enjoyed things. That never happened on any day before joining the magic knights, which was a strange thing in itself. Life was harder, but it came with more breaks. Horrors had been certainly experienced, but he had also been able to actually experience the flavor of food for the first time, even if that wasn't with each meal. His fathers family didn't speak to him anymore, but he's also met others that had been friendly. Nobody around him was close in the slightest though, not in the slightest. There was a time that it looked like he had a friend in Naxel, before his senior had lost his mind and vanished. Everything was hard to cope with, so he took it one day at a time. Breaking the weight of all the changes and loneliness hurt less and made each day easier to handle and enjoy. That worked less during times like this, a holiday specifically about togetherness and family. Everything felt so heavy, it made every effort all that more exhausting. Things would be much nicer if he didn't have to speak verbally this entire time.
But right now doing that would be selfish. Joseph stopped walking once he got close to the black haired beauty, being careful not to get too close. It was important to respect personal space, even at times like this. “Hello Hinota, sorry for overhearing things I shouldn't have. Last time we saw each other, you were helping citizens escape from around the blue rose base, you saved quite a few of the survivors that way.” His voice was quiet and heavy, making the young adult realize that using it had probably been a mistake. It wasn't considerate if he sounded so worrisome! At least his face was covered, even if it was by things that were easy to move. ~I'm happy to see you again too. It sounds like you've been very busy. Would you like any help? Or maybe just a friend to walk with, or talk with?~ His hands moved more naturally then his voice ever felt that he could recall. Maybe things wouldn't be as bad as the man imagined. Things weren't going as planned, not since the moment the pink eyed person arrived. If that was a good or bad thing was to be decided later. If it made the night any less depressing then it would certainly be more of an improvement then expected. Would she really care for his company though? She was still quite an elegant and attractive person. She had more important people in her life in the area, even if both of those people had already left.

Ozma breathed in relief as he saw the captain of the Golden Dawn bow back to him and didn’t turn or leave after he requested to speak to him, instead the man moved to a bench and motioned for him to sit with him before he told him he was all ears and asked why he had tried to submit to him when he had made his feelings abundantly clear before. At that Ozma moved and sat beside him before he took his brush and he started to flick it to make sentences of pain.” First I owe you an apology I let my anger take over and I acted very disrespectfully and dishonorably it never should have happened” he wrote before he went on. “I know you said I put to much on rules and tradition and I still do however the biggest thing I wanted for my sister was to keep her safe my connection with my family is strong but iv always tried to keep an eye on her and protect her since she is the only sibling I have that’s why when I heard what she has done since leaving the house I got so angry while I pushed it at you in truth I think I was more angry at myself since I couldn’t be there to shield her from everything as a brother I feel that I let her down” he explained before he pulled out her hair pins she had left.
“she didn’t take my response to you well and said that until we bury the hatchet and I admit my mistakes she doesn’t want to work with me and wants nothing to do with the family, while I can understand her distance towards mother and father I don’t want to lose my connection with her” he admitted in the paint as he looked down. After a moment he looked at Zaven before writing again.” I am sorry I blew up at you and destroyed something of yours Captain Zaven I have no problem working with your squad and I ask for your forgiveness” he wrote with his head slightly bowed hoping to hear forgiveness but he was unsure.
A slight smile graced the face of the blue-eyed maiden. He had brought up their last challenge, and with it, a rush of very warm thoughts. "Well, aren’t you a smooth talker." They had gently pulled away, but not before the mercenary stole a peck from her. Her eyes fluttered closed at the simple touch. It served her right, as she had stolen something similar earlier in an attempt to get her ornament back.
She wrapped her arm around his and let him lead her to the tree. Even before they arrived there, she saw just how tall and magnificent the tree was. It could be seen well above the rooftops, and she daresay it rivals the Ancient One back in the Forest. A turn here, a turn there, and they were there. Her eyes lit up when she saw how the tree was so festively decorated. "Look at all the lights!" She had to tilt her head back and crane her neck just to glimpse the very top of the tree. Even then, she could not see what was on the very top.
"Maybe we'll find better spots up there as well."
"Hmm? Oh, sure!" Suna grabbed her magical broom and settled down on it, making sure there was plenty of room for the mercenary in the back. Assuming he would get on, she would take off, eyes focused intently on finding a good spot to hang their ornaments. "Where would be a good spot..." she murmured to herself. Then she noticed a faint green aura radiating not too far off, and a very familiar mana signature.
"Charles!" Suna waved enthusiastically, almost to the point of losing her balance. She flew them closer, over to the silver owl. "Happy Yuletide! Are you looking for a place to put your ornament, too?" It seemed that they had a knack for finding each other even in these large events. Just then, she caught sight of an empty spot. "That looks like a good spot!" She pointed to the area, which was near the top. "There’s space for all three of ours, if you want to hang yours with us, Charles."
Whether Charles agreed or not was up to him, but the elf would make her broom fly higher to the said spot. Suna took out the ornament from her pocket, looking at it for a moment before carefully reaching over and hanging it on one of the branches. She made sure it would not fall even if there was a slight wind, and when that was done, she sat back and nodded to herself. "There we go." Then she would watch the dark mage and the silver mage hang their ornaments, if they decided to do so.
Shizu blinked for a moment and chuckled softly. "Oh! Well the only help I needed was really just having someone man the instruments and they could play themselves. So as it's not so....impersonal to just have the instruments play themselves. Though havin a golem play the instruments would kinda not really accomplish what I'm going for." She noted with a sheepish smile, sighing just a bit and rubbing the back of her neck. At the very least both girls seemed to be enjoying the food that she'd gotten for the both of them. She supposed with both girls not really seeming up to stand in themselves that she'd just have to pick a solo piece instead. She folded her legs and opened her gimoire as she eyed a page laying out some resonance frequency notes, glancing up at the tree as she surmised what to do about it. Maybe an aimplification system? She could make a few more ornaments and have them synch up with the magic from whatever instrument she was playing, and thus project the music through their positions on the tree itself.
She opened her palm and let her bell ring gently, after a brief moment, the glass-like bell blossomed with light as it made a little holographic projection of the area, specifically the tree and surroundings as she folded her legs and sipped her wine, eyeing the projection as she checked out the acoustics of it all, ignoring the mana signatures of the patrons and focusing on the 3d representation for a moment. "So Sio, it's been a while since I've seen you." She glanced up from the display, smiling. "What is it you've been getting up to as of late? I'm a little surprised to see you out and about, and in clover no less." She ventured, deciding not to ask any such questions of Verena since...well....the girl seemed shy enough as it were, she didn't wanna scare the girl away by asking prying questions.

Siobhan shared Verena's sentiment; at least, in the sense she wanted to show off her magic. The reasons might have been different, but the sentiment was the same. It was a relief to know she wasn't the only one wishing to use golems for this performance, at least. It would have felt a little strange to her otherwise.[break][break]
Most importantly, Verena was glad to have a fellow Golem user. Perhaps even a bit of a golem enthusiast, she wondered? It was of little surprise to her that an artist would use golems, and she had assumed as much given the blonde's artistic prowess, but it was always nice to receive that little bit of validation and confirmation on the matter.[break][break]
Verena resumed her meal, quietly eating as she resumed her original activity--people watching, while simply listening in on Shizu and Sio's conversation. It wasn't directed at her, so this was little more than eavesdropping, but she was someone who naturally was attuned to this sort of thing. She enjoyed it, even if it was a little unbecoming of her. Still, nobility did love gossip and eavesdropping anyway. Despite being frowned upon, it was a secret past time; of that, she was certain.[break][break]
That was when she saw them. Charles--the one who had taught her his Silver Magic. She'd yet to make a golem with it, as that required additional practice that she simply hadn't given herself a chance to do. It was difficult with Kikka still so fresh in mind. She realized why the boy didn't want to go back. She likely wouldn't any time soon, either.[break][break]
Hans, Suna's significant other, as well as a fellow member of the Kikka reclamation effort. Verena wasn't initially sure what to make of him, but Suna loved him dearly. She was glad that he had survived because that, in turn, meant that the elven born would be happy. The witch was definitely deserving of happiness, and the Reinsberg wouldn't want anything to fix that.[break][break]
...And of course, Suna herself. ...She was probably mad at her. Verena had left in the middle of the night, after all. Even after Kikka had ended, she hadn't said a word to her. Without question, the crimson-eyed woman was a terrible friend for worrying Suna. Verena wasn't even sure if she knew that she had ended up in Kikka. She simply never had the heart to bring it up.
...Still, she offered a faint smile to the faces that she recognized. She wouldn't intrude on their happiness. On their Yuletide. She was more than content knowing they were safe and happy.

[attr="class","glentext"] As he was looking for a spot to put his ornament on the tree. Charles began to feel two familiar Ki signatures coming his way, even though they weren't in his direct line of sight, the silver mage was very familiar with who those two were. To think that it has been a while since he last saw them. He heard Hans went to Kikka for a second time, so he was curious as to how it went down. It didn't take long for him to hear Suna's enthusiastic voice to which he turned to. "Yo! Happy Yuletide." The silver mage waved back at the couple who seemingly also came to put down their ornament. Charles was glad he was able to see the two again, especially Hans after knowing the dark mage came back alive from Kikka and successfully defeated Sven. [break][break] "Yeah... Been looking for one for a while, I don't like being this high considering the weather." Charles looked at the place Suna pointed, it had enough space to fit ornaments. At least they were meeting somewhere safer than a forest filled with mana beasts, that's two in a row. "Oh nice, yeah." He nodded as he made his silver owl fly higher next to Suna, pulling a shining silver-made ornament out of his pocket and hang it on one of the branches of the tree. It was his first time trying to make something like his ornament using supplementary magic, but it looked fairly nice for his first time. "It's been a while, huh... Also, good to see you around, Hans. I'm glad you managed to make it back out of there." It seemed like most of the group managed to make it out alive, unlike last time and that made him feel relieved. Peace has once again arrived, it's likely that the people from Kikka wouldn't have an easy time recovering from everything that happened, but at least it was something. [break][break] Something felt different this time around, Charles had known Hans and Suna for a while, but he was able to sense something different in the two. Though, not fully aware of the details, through the time he has known the two, interacted with them and now the Ki signatures. He was able to deduce the two needed each other, perhaps that's what you would call love, something Charles wasn't familiar with, at least in the way they felt it. "Mmm... Good thing you two have each other." It seemed like he wasn't as ignorant to those human emotions anymore, ever since he learned Ki he started to view the world in a different way. The Black Bull didn't find a particular need to feel that way, but he seemingly understood more why people felt such emotions towards someone else. He was never particularly attracted to someone that way, nor did he find a necessity to do so. [break]

Shizuyoru's disappointment in the pair seemed to last but a heartbeat as the black haired witch began to conjure up plans for something else. Siobhan merely offered a small, conciliatory smile as a way of apology. She didn't mind being the center of attention herself sometime, but she also hadn't wanted to put Verena on the spot either. Her attempt at reconciling everyone's tastes might've fallen a little short, but thankfully Shizu was a good sport. Though Siobhan did thread her fingers together, an eyebrow arching in a mock dare.
"My golems can be quite lovely to look at you know Shizu. Far prettier than me at least." She teased the other witch with a small pout before catching Verena's eye and offering a conspiratorial wink. Siobhan's magic was as entwined with her art as it was with her being, so why would Shizu be the only one to get all the fun and glory? The blonde hardly had the striking looks of the brunette or the air of mystery that her black haired sister witch had. She preferred it when her art held the eye far more than when her body had to.
She chewed the other witch's question for a moment before offering a small chuckle to the table, plucking a flaky bun from a pile and using it to sop some of the gravy and leavings on the plate she'd been eating from. "I wanted to see the rest of the world Shizu." Her voice was a bit softer then, ripping the bun in half with sharp precision and lazily swirling it in the slop left on her plate. "I love our home, don't get me wrong. But there are so many other sights to see and paint than just the ones the forest provided." There was a wistful longing to her voice as she stared up at the tree momentarily before dragging her eyes down and around the scene. "So many new experiences waited for me just outside of the tree line. So I decided to go for them."
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Hans simply smirked at Suna's little "smooth talker" comment, not needing to say anything else. The dark mage has certainly gotten bold ever since meeting her and not only that, but he has also become a bit more open towards others, specifically those he has come to know, and to this day, it still surprises him. The merc always lived under the impression that he could never change, that even though he is no longer with his father, he will still be nothing but a fighter, barely getting by through mercenary work...but part of him was starting to see things more different now...more positively.
The couple was now at the towering tree, and Hans couldn't help but crack a light smile at Suna's enthusiasm over it. He may not look it, but Hans was intrigued by the Yule tree as well, finding himself looking up at it again. Perhaps excitement really is contagious? "Yeah. It's...nice."
With Suna's broom out, the dark mage waited for her to get on before sitting right behind her, and with that, the two took to the air. As they went up, Hans eyed the many ornaments that were already hung up on the tree and there were so many. Even the branches towards the top had a lot on them, showing that some others might've had the same idea before them. As the broom continued to hover up, Hans could sense Charles' mana more, and his head shifted to the silver mage's direction just as Suna called his name. The broom started to sway a bit from Suna's enthusiastic waving, and the man placed his hands down in an attempt to keep balance....forgetting how excited she gets sometimes...or most times.
Hans gave Charles a light nod with a smile to match as the magic knight waved back. It was nice to see him again, being one of the few people the merc actually sees as an ally...or even a friend. Seems that the merc's suspicions were correct and Charles was up there to find a spot for his ornament. "Did you make yours?" the merc asked as he looked over at Charles' ornament. It's silver themed and gave off a bit of mana so that seems to be the case. Hans was certainly impressed. One thing he knows about Charles is that he's good at constructing stuff with that magic of his. While he continued to look at the silver mage's ornament, Hans looked back at Suna as she found a spot for the ornaments. The merc simply looked back at Charles and nodded in agreement to the sound mage's suggestion.
Once the other two placed their ornaments up on the tree, Hans gave his one more look before placing it on one of the free sections close by. He looked at the decoration once again, thinking back at how his mother would let him place it up at the top of the tree back home when he was a child. Those fond memories were so rare...all the more reason why Hans holds them so close to his heart, and this moment right here will be joining those memories.
"Hm?" Hans didn't completely catch what Charles said to him at first, being a bit distracted by his memories, but as it sunk in he gave another nod. "Yeah...It wasn't easy." Now those fond memories were replaced by the madness Hans went through back at Kikka. He was able to get out of that alive, but he learned a lot about himself back there...about just how weak he still is. There are people out there still far stronger than himself, both allies...and enemies. As he thought more about this, a brief thought about a certain lava mage crossed his mind, but he slowly shook his head and looked back at Charles. "I'm honestly glad it's over."
The silver mage then made a comment that Hans was...honestly not expecting, at least not from him. He blinked a few times at Charles before looking over at Suna. "You're not wrong." Hans said before looking over to Charles again with an eyebrow raised. "Why did you bring that up?" he asked, mostly curious about Charles' reasoning.
N O T E S
Hans' Coat (Is also wearing a pair of black gloves.)
(Unfortunately I don't have a pic reference for my ornament, but it's basically two angels with their foreheads pressed against each other and their fingers intertwined.)
