[attr="class","florencetext"]As the three magic knights were walking down the street Lydia would listen to what her captain said before giving her own thoughts. "Of course they aren't broken. The people may not be magic knights themselves but they put a lot of trust and pride into us. They know we lost some strong mages during the fight but we still managed to win in the peoples eyes. We didn't give up so why would they? We are magic knights not matter how bad things make look for us we can't give up that's not what it means it be a magic knight. Those who let it break them and want to give up don't have what it takes to be a magic knight and should just leave the order before they get themselves killed or someone else. [break][break] It's not an easy job we all knew that when we join and the people know that as well so of course they aren't going to give up unless we give up. I for one don't plan on giving up I can't give up it's my duty to protect this kingdom even if it kills me." Lydia wasn't sure if her words would even reach the captain as it seemed he was already lost in his own thoughts but she spoke the words anyway not just for him but of the people looking to the magic knights. She would watch as Forrest made his way over to the women playing music she would have joined him however Lydia didn't feel like it was her place nor did she feel like listening to it. So instead she would walk off on her own towards a bar perhaps the other would join her later. It didn't take her long to reach the place as she walked inside she would pull out another cigarette lighting it before she took a seat at the front. The bar keeper would bring her an ash tray and asking what she'd like to drink. "Thank you and I'll take two glasses of whiskey." [break][break] The glass mage would have preferred wine but this wasn't the type of bar someone came to for drinking wine by the fire place. It was the type of bar mages came to forget there problems. As her two drinks got set down in front of her she would drink the first one faster than a lady should. The second one however she drank slower and as it was getting close to empty a man a few years younger would sit down next to her ordering two drinks before setting the second one in front of her while trying to hit on her. It was clear by the way he dressed he was either a poor noble or a commoner who had a lot of money both of which just pissed her off even more. "It's going to take more than one drink to win me over that would of course if I even thought you were worthy of winning me of which I don't so you can take your flirting and drink somewhere else." The man could have stopped while he was a head but he was stupid and tried he luck reach for her shoulder while trying to talk her into joining him. "Come on now you don't have to be that cold just have a drink with me and let's see where the rest goes." [break][break] Before his hand was even able to touch him Lydia would grab his arm twisting it behind his back slamming his face into the table before being her knee up into his gut. She would then pay for her drink before walking out of the bar lighting yet again another cigarette. As she was walking she could feel the man and a few of his friends following her so she would turn around and face them. "What do you want this time I've already made it clear I don't want to spend the night with you." "Oh yes that you did we aren't here for that you see what you did wasn't very nice so we're going to teach you a lesson." "You've got to be fucking kidding great just what I needed." Lydia would let the cigarette fall out of her mouth before stepping on it to put it out. She would take a quick count of how many there were which came out to six which didn't look good for her. She was able to hold her own in a fist fight against one or two people however she wasn't a monster in physical combat like her captain was she was better at out pacing the opponent with her speed. [break][break] She wasn't able to use her magic it would cause to many problems and she was a lion so she couldn't just run away from the fight without shamming her squad. So all Lydia could do was hope that Ardere or Forrest were close by to help back her up otherwise it wasn't going to be a good time for the glass mage.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Lydia's words reached Ardere. He let out a sigh and nodded, placing a cigarette between his pale lips. She was particularly good at talking to him. Whether this trait was her own or from Silas, he did not know, but he had a feeling it was somewhere in between. Most truth was that way. Regardless, he stood there for a moment, as he snapped the smoke filled his lungs--the cigarette was lit from his flames. He just needed a moment, a moment to breathe. Forrest was taken in by the women playing guitar. The fire mage looked over, a bit of a ways off and a slight smile pursed his lips. things were not the same, and they never would be, but they most certainly could get better. When am I going to learn? He muttered to himself, staring up at the deep blue sea that soared above the world, filled with fluffy clouds like ships. Letting some smoke escape his lips, he sighed one more time, softly. I promise you Silas, I'll get better. If not for myself then at least in your honor, old friend. [break][break] Ardere let the cigarette fall out of his mouth before stomping on it, letting the embers scatter across the stone before dissipating. Looking back over to Forrest, he nodded. Come on old friend! Lydia is waiting for us! He called out to the blonde mage over by the guitarists. It had been a bit since his Vice entered the bar. Wouldn't want to keep her waiting too long. She'll kick my ass. He said to himself, hoping his earlier statement had gotten Forrest's attention. However once he got over to the bar, he noticed a lack of Lydia's Ki. Was she gone? He had just seen her go towards the bar a bit ago, and upon further inspection of opening the door, he noticed that she was not in there. The hell? There it was, her ki. As he exited the bar and walked down the street a moment, he noticed her right around the corner. She had probably went out for a smoke. But there it was, several men cornering her. And then it happened, the Captain only saw one color; red. [break][break] Flashes of Silas' death attacked Ardere's subconscious. He was plagued by images of the young man's death, and in that moment he was not himself. The Crimson King was angry. He narrowed his eyebrows. While he was not as fast as his counterpart, through sheer strength he would launch himself over to the group of men, slamming his fist into one of their backs. His sheer strength sent the man into the wall and instantly knocked him out. One of the other men tried to amplify himself with reinforcement magic to attack the Captain, but he was sorely mistaken. The man caught his punch and slammed the thug's fist into his own face. Two of the other men who were now focused on him, dished kicks out to his side. The fire mage was hit, his rubs nearly being bruised. Dropping to the ground almost instantly, he swept their legs out from under them. Then as they hit the ground, he grabbed their ankles and simply tossed them into a nearby trash bin. Two of the others made a move for Lydia, while the final one walked right up to the Captain. Hey screw you! The man aimed for a punch, but it was a fake out. Ardere simply let the man punch him. The punch connected with his face, and the fire mage slid back a bit, wiping some blood from his brow. But he simply let a red aura wash over his body as he grew angered. What the fuck are you? Diving for the man, the Captain drove his fist right into his solar plexus. The thug immediately coughed and vomited all over the street before falling over. Looking up to the other two men, if Lydia hadn't already dealt with them, then he surely would with a flurry of blows. [break][break] After the fight, Ardere's blood began to cool. It had almost been boiling before. He was beyond furious. Memories of Silas still plagued him. He cared about his Vice Captain. While he was sure no group of men would have killed her, he had grown protective in a short time. You okay? He asked her, when in reality he was the one who probably wasn't okay. His emotions were dominating him more than ever before, but he was trying to control it, but he had no idea how. On the plus side, this was a step towards regaining his confidence. Perhaps his will to protect was his greatest strength. Sorry...I...lost it for a moment. None of the men were dead, but a few were quite injured. Fortunately he could help heal them while they called for a small magic knight group to take them into custody for the time being. Things were different, but in some ways still the same.
[attr="class","florencetext"]It seemed like fate was in fact on the pink haired mages side. She would let out a smile small as she sensed the mana of Ardere close by and closing in on her. It seemed the six thugs on the other hand didn't and would look at each other like she was crazy for smiling when they were about to beat her up. Perhaps she was a little crazy but they would soon find out that wasn't the reason she was smiling. As the fire mage started fighting the first four thugs the last two would go after the glass mage. She would easily dodge the first punch before moving behind the man kick his legs out from under him before ducking under a punch from the second one who over extended himself ending up in front of the vice captain. It seemed these two were use to fist fights as the man she knocked down got up pretty fast. [break][break] Lydia would run forward dodging another punch before pushing of the mans back spinning over him and kicking the one behind him it the face. She would then block the punch from the second mana with her arms. Lydia then grabbing the man by his own arms punching him in the face breaking his nose causing blood to flow onto her gloves. As the man took a step back holding her nose she would run forward punching him in the face again knocking him out before spinning around to catch the last thugs arm twisting it behind his back slamming his head into the ground all well. The fight was now over and her gloves would covered in blood so she would simply take them off throwing them in the trash after all she wore them so she wouldn't get blood on her hands. This was perhaps the first her captain would see her actual hands to that they were different than what one would expect someones hands to look like the only difference was her nails were painted pink. As the captain asked if she was okay Lydia wouldn't say a word she would instead walk forward wrapping her arms around the captain and putting her face into his chest while crying not a mix of sad and happy tears. Thank you, Your the first person to actually protect me not because of my name but because of who I am but yes I'm fine. Lydia would then move one of her hands to meet Ard's before making a healing spell appear in her hand getting rid of any injuries he took during the fight. I understand why you lost control it's because the pain of losing Silas still hurts you and you could take the pain of someone else you care about getting hurt. [break][break] The pink haired mage would then take a step back giving the fire mage a moment to think about what she said before speaking again as the guards took away the thugs. I think we should head back to the base.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Ardere embraced Lydia for a few moments. He held her close, like she was the only person in the world. And at the moment to him; she was. Even though Forrest was close by, and there were the unconscious bodies of the men, there was no one else outside this alley to him. It was a moment frozen in time. What were memories if not moments in time? He bore many memories of his father, frozen embraces outside of his childhood home. There were just as many of him and Lysander, or with Silas or Forrest. Each memory with them was so precious, perhaps the most important thing to him. And now this moment would be forever embedded in time, added to the list of special memories inside the coliseum sized library that was the Captain's mind. And he was okay with that. This was a memory worth having forever. [break][break] He acknowledged her statement with a nod, taking a deep breath to avoid crying himself. Now was not the time to let out all those tears he had stored up. There would be a day, but that was not today. Today was a day of growth and love. That was the most important thing. You're right. Let's go. Ardere would call for Forrest and bring the lightspeed mage back to the base. It was not a long walk, but it was a contemplative one. He had been considering something for some time now, and perhaps it was time to approach it. Come with me to my office for a moment, Lydia. He said softly as they arrived, and then bid Forrest a farewell. He had another journey with that man, and getting his memories back. But that would be for another day as well, hopefully one soon. The blonde man was important to him, even if they were both damaged. But for now, he had to take care of something with Lydia. It was painful, but he could do it. He had to, not just for himself but for her. She too shared a pain they all felt after Silas' death. Her pain was perhaps one he could never know, and he hoped she never knew his. But he could try to help her. [break][break] Wandering slowly into his office, it was surprisingly not so much a mess like it had been before. He had tidied up earlier. Finally getting back into proper hygiene and cleaning habits felt good, but he knew it would be hard to maintain. Nonetheless Ardere brought Lydia to his office. He walked over to a very large storage cabinet, a wooden one in the back of his office. In it lay the shattered remnants of his father's armor, which he had not the heart to reforge yet. But inside it was another item fully intact. Pulling out a long piece of cloth, it was not quite discernible what this item was. I've been meaning to give this to you, but I was waiting for the right time. Taking a deep breath, he began to unwrap the cloth. Not much remained of Silas other than fragments of armor and the pieces of his spirit that will forever be in my heart, but this did manage to survive. And I think it should be yours. You've more than earned this power, and he would want someone strong to have it. I thought about giving it to Emily, but it would probably break her heart more than mend it. So I hope for you, it can bring some semblance of peace to those broken memories of yours. And perhaps bring out that immense inner strength I know you have. As he fully unwrapped it, a beautiful red and golden sword was unveiled. This was Silas' sword. It was gorgeous and completely intact, shining as if it had been polished and sharpened recently. This was his sword, and I want you to have it. If the burden is too much to bear, I understand. But it is rightfully yours, not mine or anyone else's. He sat the sword down and stepped back to allow her a moment. You have done more for me than you know, and you have shown me I will grab my fucking destiny by the horns once again. No matter how long it takes to regain my strength, I will. You are my Vice Captain, and my partner. So thank you. He gave her a full on salute. It was rare for a Captain to prompt any salute outside of the Wizard King himself, but he was showing his own growth and his respect for her, which was immense. Now, they had a future to look forward to. I don't know where the future will take us, but we will blaze it together.
[attr="class","florencetext"]It seemed Ardere was fine with heading back to the base as well. So the two lions would make there way back to the base picking Forrest up along the way. As they got back Lydia planned on heading back to her office to finish up the rest of the paperwork. However as the fire mage asked if she would come to his office for a moment she would simply nod and follow him. She wasn't sure what he wanted to talk about perhaps it was about Silas or something else she wasn't really sure but there was no point in thinking about it when the captain would tell her soon enough. Stepping inside she was a little surprised at how clean it was now. She would start to pull out her pack of cigarettes as the fire mage started to speak about Silas' armor and soul while heading over to a wooden cabinet. However she would soon stop putting them back in her pocket as the man pulled out something hidden behind cloth. The pink haired mage would just stare at the sword for a while as the captain spoke. She didn't know what to say or how to even react to what Ard was saying to her. As the man step back Lydia would walk forward picking the sword up with both hands. It was in perfect condition. She would just keep staring at the blade and the ruins carved into it she didn't know much about the sword herself but she did know that Silas had made the sword himself. [break][break] A part of her didn't feel right holding the blade as if she wasn't worthy to hold something like this and yet the captain was giving it to her. One of the only things the man had left of his best friend, his first vice captain and his student. The range of emotions the glass mage was feeling wasn't like something she'd felt before in her life. A part of her wanted to cry while another part of her wanted to yell at him for giving something so dear to him away yet at the same time she felt glad he trust and believed in her enough to give the sword to him. Setting the blade back down on the desk she would return the salute the captain gave to her. I'll be the one person you can count on no matter what if you lead us into hell I would gladly follow you there and pull you back out. The vice captain would pause looking down at the blade once more. [break][break] I'm not sure what Silas' called it or if even gave it a name. However it wouldn't feel right to call it by the same name. I'll give it one of my own I think I call it the sword of the fallen hero." With the Lydia would pick up the sword waving goodbye before heading back to her own office but she wasn't going to be getting any work done. [break][break] [EXIT]
