Ajra was enjoying how easily it was that she was able to sneak off these days. As she strode through those soft, tranquil woods she couldn't help but wonder if it even served any purpose for her to sneak out of the Estate these days. After all she was an adult, what reason did they to stop her? But all the same it was just so.....fun to be a bit sneaky about things~ She smiled mirthfully to herself and allowed herself a little giggle as she finally reached the spot. A spot she had been coming to fairly often as of l ate. The area was scorched and marked with the experimentations she had been taking, and she couldn't help but grip her hands into fists as she saw the mess of it all.
Oh yes, she'd made the right choice in doing all of this out here~ She could only imagine the looks on her parents faces if she had caused such destruction in the estate proper. All the same... she crouched down and hummed to herself as her grimoire materialized in front of her, opening the tome by her thoughts alone and eyeing the pages. She was pleased with her progress thus far. In all honesty, she was not even sure if she was all that upset about starting this sort of thing so late in her life. She could only imagine how some of the nobles might have opinions on it. But she grinned a bit inwardly to herself. It always started that way~ The first time she decided to start track running. The moment she'd decided to try her hand at wrestling. It had all been... well a bit of an annoyance. But it was one she had NEVER allowed herself to succumb to. She turned to the very first page and took a moment to admire just the sort of majesty that the book held. It was fascinating that such a thing was such an intimate part of her. She ran her fingers along it's little cover and eyed it. Sooo much information! Not only was it information about magic, but about the stars themselves . The information had been fascinating to rifle through when she had been constructing her bow. To think that comets were actually little chunks of ice!
All the same, she slowly let her hand spill out over the pages and raised it up into the air. And from that book spilled a brilliang, glowing gaseous cloud, rising up into the air before her as she widened her eyes, smiling as she eyed the instructions and information. A nebula? Interesting. She rose up to her feet and closed her eyes, directing her hands as if conducting a symphony as that nebula slowly sank into her body, burrowing into her physical form as the constellation glowed to life on her shoulder, letting out a soft little sigh as she felt that vigorous energy pumping into herself. And in that very next moment she twisted and WHAMP! She slammed her fist into a nearby tree trunk, shattering the bark and cracking the wood itself as an aura around her body slammed into the tree, dealing a much wider blow than her fist would normally be able to execute.
She let out a little WHEW and smiled to herself, glancing at her knuckles where her mana skin had crackled just a bit, but held fairly enough. She gently peeled one of the arrows from her bow, and tested it against her palm. Her Mana skin did it's work, crackling and fizzing as it rejected the damage, and she could feel the spell feeding into it, repairing the damage already. Perfect.
With that she let out a soft little sigh and allowed the spell to quell, fading into nothing as she summoned her grimoire again and eyed the pages, turning through them as she continued idly scraping at her palm with the arrowpoint, chewing through her mana skin as she did so. she waited until finally that mana skin gave out, and she could feel that point pressing to her bare palm. She stopped, just the faintest tint of red showing in her palm from that point. She pulled it back and eyed te injury for a moment, her head tilting just a little as she did so. Perfect. Wiping the arrowtip off and then slipping it back into it's quiver, she stood up and let out a little hup, stretching her arms out before she eyed her grimoire.
Red Giants.... A sort of star. To think that their color would have an effect on their size, she couldn't help but glance up at the sky, eyeing the pale white clouds and sighing wistfully. Such a shame that such pretty things could hide something far more interesting. She really should come out here when the night sky was nice and fresh. All the same, she raised her one hand over her injured one, and focused her attention. With a crackle a blazing miniature star burned into existence between her hands. It was... warm. She could only imagine how hot the real thing would be. But all the same, she slowly closed he rhands together, bracing herself as she slowly pushed that star into her other palm, a slow, steady sigh escaping her as slow creeping crack-like markings slithered along the skin, traveling up to her shoulders and spine as that magical energy glowed within her, and she watched as that little scratch in her palm outright vanished as the energy coursed through her, and she felt just the tiniest bit more durable more....rugged as she felt it pulsing through her. Nothing extravagant but still it was an interesting sensation to have!
She gently flexed her hand, curling the fingers as she could feel the skin tensing and flexing with her. Good as new, she could hardly tell she had even been damaged. Of course she wasn't very keen on seeing just how badly she could be hurt and still be mended... no that was probably something she shouldn't go testing on herself.
But all the same, she allowed the spell to settle out and sighed softly, rolling her shoulders just a bit as she turned to the last page she intended to eye for the day, pausing as she turned back in time to see the new spell being scrawled onto blank space. Oh! Interesting.... She was fascinated with the mechanics of this book, but for now she ignored it, pushing the thoughts aside as she eyed the next page. A large, dark pit in the very center of the page, and scrawling text about it's properties. A collapsed star, a practical hole in existence. The very idea of it sounded a bit eerie, but all the same. It was nothing but another tool so far as she was concerned. But noticing its parameters it definitely needed to form from something ... big.
She took a step back from the grimoire. A red Giant should do, yes? She raised both of her hands up into the air and pone blazed into existence over her head. Bigger..... bigger....BIGGER! She focused, expanding the size of that miniature star and letting out a slow sigh as she watched it swelling above her. IT was gorgeous to be sure, and she took just a moment to admire it, the little spots and ripples that played across it's surface. IT was almost mesmerizing. But she maintained her objective in mind. Those hands, wide and welcoming, that had conjured the very star, started to slowly come together. And that big giant shrank just the tiniest bit. And she focused, a bit of sweat forming across her brow. It was difficult to imagine such a transformation, but still, it was the point, wasn't it? She slowly brought her hands closer and closer together, watching as that star slowly shrank, getting almost to 75% of it's maximum volume before she seemed to struggle. she paused, furrowing her brows before she finally CLAPPED! Her hands meeting together as that star suddenly collapsed on itself! From five meters it plummeted down, crushing itself down to no more than an inch or so! And she felt that sudden WEIGHT around it, even as she slowly pushed id down into the V line of her short little poncho she was wearing. Her brows furrowed as she felt it slowly sinking past her skin and into her chest, as black marksing slowly crept across her body, making her as she could feel the energy being pumped into her body.
She took slow, steady breaths. It was a very similar experience to the nebula from before, but not quite the same. She slowly reached out, touching that very same tree and then hearing a CRUNCH as the bark slowly crinkled in on itself, a sort of area around her body slowly crunching that wood until it started to bend and then snap from the pressure of that invisible veil surrounding her body, IT wasn't especially powerful, bending wood was nothing too impressive, but it was still something. And she couldn't help but smile proudly at herself as she pulled her hand back and the upper half of that trunk dropped to the floor, leaving her with a wide, almost giddy expression on her face. Perfect! It was exciting to feel such a sensation of...discovery. That she could DO this! Of course she had been a bit ...uncertain to say the least. She'd never done anything with her magic more than a bit of fancy craftsmanship. Making little precious stones out of her starstuff. It wasn't anything really all that fancy. But to finally DO something, to accomplish something useful and functional?
It was a feeling unlike any other. Even more than beating other nobles at their own hobbies. Even more than the look of impressed shock she saw on others. This was ....unique. It was different. She took just a moment, to admire the dark markings along her pale skin, eyes gently scanning the length of her forearm as she slowly let out a breath. The feeling was alien to be sure, and she slowly curled her fingers, feeling it slowly replenishing the rest of her mana skin until it was finally at where it had been before. She practically felt invincible at this point, and she eyed the forest around her. The idea of charging out and hunting down some hapless boar or bear was definitely high in the back of her mind, and she couldn't help but chuckle a little to herself. As much fun as it would be to crush a boar's throat with her bare hands, she felt like that might be some level of cruelty. All the same, she turned her attention to the horizon, staring off into the distance as she sighed to herself. And in the very back of her mind.... she thought about Kikka. She'd heard about it, even in her isolation the word of the daemon rampage had reached her loud and clear. And for a moment, she thought about how many had been reported as slain.
She was under no illusions. She knew that the notion of slaying a daemon was far beyond her. Further than she could possibly imagine, and that individuals far younger than her had reached such a level of power. But..... that was still something attainable. For all of the time she'd lost in her youthful endeavors... it was still within reach. It was still doable. And she had EVERY intention of doing so. She could only hope that one day, it would be the throat of a Daemon being crushed under the weight of her grip. There was no dellusions that perhaps, there was a possibility that the daemons were going to be a problem difficult for anyone to handle. And she knew that somehow....she may even have to rely on the Ravencrest she aspired to surpass. But that was acceptable. It was expected even. There was not a single noble she'd ever surpassed whose helping hand she'd turned down. However caked in smug pity it had been, she knew that no opportunity should be squandered.
If that's what it took, so be it. After all, the reward would be worth it.
