The town suffered no major losses, since the Candycane Man was defeated, property damage can be fixed over time, but no lives were lost. As everyone is resting, and recuperating all the fire in the town gets sapped. The warmth immediately leaves the entire city, and it feels incredibly cold as if all the heat your body has is being drained for some reason. Going to investigate you see a man in the center of the town standing still with townspeople frozen near him. This man stands still like an ice sculpture before turning his gaze to you. Eyes that are crimson like blood stare back at you. Reaching out with his hand, you feel the warmth drain from your blood.

Sound based magic, on the other hand, is incredibly effective against him, and deals double damage if you overcome his durability by 10 or more points. Mr. Frost is incredibly fast, seemingly able to disappear for brief moments only to reappear near you to hack at you with his incredibly sharp claws. If you try to stay at a range, you risk the wrath of his Icicle Spears (which have the stats of a Senior Spell for Range and Speed). If you get within 20 meters of him, his Absolute Zero aura will begin to drain the heat from your body, making you take Intermediate damage while healing him for that much. Compared to all the other enemies you have faced up until now, something seems off.

"We did it!" The elf pumped her fist victoriously in the air. Even if she was the one who dealt the final blow on the candy cane titan, she could not have done it without the dark mage. It was a team effort, and he had damaged it just as much as she had. Honestly, she was wondering if she could do anything without him now. After all they have gone through, she could not imagine doing anything without him by her side.
Then the temperature had suddenly dropped, as if all the warmth had been sucked out of the land. Suna shivered. As if it was not cold enough already. Only this time, it seemed more...unnatural. But then again, everything had not been normal, not ever since they encountered those strange deers earlier. Her whole body felt heavy, and she felt weary all of a sudden. Even her energy seemed to be draining away, or was that just exhaustion over this fight with the candy cane titan?
"So tired..." She murmured, blinking and rubbing her eyes. She even took a handful of snow and rubbed it all over her face, hoping that the cold would wake her up. It did. Kind of. "Why...am I suddenly...so...exhausted?" Perhaps it was the adrenaline wearing off. Yes, that must be it.
"Hold me for a second?" She requested softly, then she would attempt to wrap her arms around Hans. If he allowed it, she would let her body slump against him, drawing strength and heat from him. For a few moments, she would just stay in that position, with her head burrowed into his chest. That last fight had been quite draining. Not just physically, but mentally as well. She still had much to learn about conserving her energy and not using all her stamina right from the start. But for now, all she just wanted was some peace and quiet with her man.
If Hans said something during this time, she would listen and respond back. Otherwise, she would finally speak up. "Maybe we should go back to town," she murmured, tilting her face up at him and forcing a tired smile. "I think I need some hot chocolate or something to warm and wake myself up..." She wrapped her coat around herself tightly, and slipped her arm through his, if he allowed it. All this cold was kind of giving her a headache, and combined with all the tense attacking from earlier, it was making her head throb. However, a hot drink should cure all that.
"Huh? Who’s that?" Suna pointed to a man standing in the center of the town square. They were nearing someone—or something—that was standing as still as ice. Upon walking closer, she saw that there were other people around him as well, but they were not moving. A chill went up her spine, and dread fell upon her features. "A-Are...are t-they..."
The tall figure in the middle finally moved, turning his body so he faced the duo. Fathomless crimson eyes stared at the two mages, and he reached out his gloved hand. Suna felt like her blood was about to freeze, and with a sudden realization, knew that she was about to be turned into a frozen statue like the rest of those poor souls.
"No!" The sound mage screamed...and it seemed to shock the man. He even recoiled at her scream, as if the very sound of it pierced him. He frowned, and immediately reached his hand out towards Hans. "STOP!" Again, that recoil. Somehow, her sound magic had some effect on him?
"Hans..." She whisper-yelled, and attempted to pull the dark mage back away from the red-eyed stranger. She did not know who it exactly was, but knew that they should not get too close to him. These enemies keep popping up one after the other, the next stronger than the last. Was there even an end to all this fighting?

Battle: Auto took INT damage as per mission description (-2 health, -2 mana skin)
"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
"You did it." Hans added in as he approached Suna and lovingly placed a hand on her back. "Those last two blows were impressive." The merc claimed before looking over at where they were fighting that candycane titan. Buildings laid in rubble along with huge pieces of candycane. Part of the town was a mess now, but at least no one got hurt. Members of Azure Deer were successful in evacuating the people of this town in a safe manner. But of course, they probably would not have been able to do it if it weren't for the mage couple keeping the titan busy, and in the end defeating it! It was a team effort, but unlike Suna, Hans felt that she put a bit more work into beating it than he did, especially with those final strikes. They both may be tough...but they are definitely stronger together.
But their little celebration was cut short...by a sudden shift in the temperature. It was getting lower...unnaturally low. Though it wasn't as noticeable as Suna, Hans started to shiver a bit under his coat, and his breath was much more visible when he exhaled. Not only did he feel cold...but it felt as if his energy was being drained, making him grow tired. The merc furrowed his brows and started to look around. This couldn't be because of the previous battle...It was something else.
His attention then went back to Suna, hearing her claims of getting tired. She looks a bit exhausted as well, so it wasn't only Hans feeling this. "I...I don't know..." the dark mage answered her, as he gently rubbed some of the snow from off of her face. His tone was drowsy, but he still managed to stand firm. The elf spoke up again, but before Hans could even fully process it, he felt those slender arms wrap around him. It took Hans a second, but he ended up doing the same, wrapping his arms around his lady as she slumped over onto him. "S-sure....I got you..." The merc stuttered a bit from the cold, but his voice was still soft, as gentle as he was being with his actions. The merc softly rubbed one of his hands up and down the woman's back as the other rested on the back of her head, fingers gently brushing through her blue hair. This was sweet...and a bit soothing...but even this wasn't enough to combat the unnatural cold...
"It's...still so cold..." Hans whispered as he continued with his soft gestures. Even with her snuggled up against him...there was barely any warmth. Hans ended up nodding at Suna's suggestion to head back into town and locked his arm with her own before they started to walk. Hot chocolate sounded really good about now to Hans as well. While they walked, Hans would noticeably get closer to Suna in his attempt to keep warm and awake. Being this close, Suna might be able to tell that Hans his shivering a bit now, but he didn't complain, nor did he have an uncomfortable look on his face....but he did look wary.
"Hm?" Nearing the town square, the couple had stopped as soon as the elf pointed out a suspicious figure standing in the center. Hans looked at the towering figure...but then his eyes shifted to the ones around it. They were motionless...frozen. "Wh-what?" the merc muttered. What was going on...?
Whatever that thing is...it was finally alerted of the mage couple's existence, and it turned to face them. On instinct, Hans gritted his teeth. With all that has been happening, the merc did not have a good feeling about this...thing. He didn't even need to sense its mana to know that it has some sort of connection to the strange things that have been going on.
The creature did not approach them, nor did it speak a word if it could....But instead, it held a hand out towards the sound mage....
"No!"
"S-Suna?" the elf shouted, catching Hans by surprise as well. He couldn't exactly see what was happening, but the merc looked over angrily at the being...but then hit held its gloved hand out towards Hans, and he could feel whatever warmth that was left in his body...being siphoned out. "Nghh..." The merc's shivering was now a lot more noticeable...but then it stopped after a loud "STOP!" came from the elf...oddly startling this creature. A visible sigh of relief escaped the merc's lips before he heard his name being called. Suna was trying to pull Hans back with her, and away from that thing...but it started to walk towards them...leaving a trail of frosted footprints. Each step it took was eerie and....bone-chilling as this atmosphere...
Not knowing what they were up against, Hans tried to get a bit in front of Suna as they walked back and he unsheathed his greatsword. The blade was coated in dark magic as Hans cast Raven's Bite, summoning a dark raven golem. The merc gestured for Suna to get on and would help her up there if she decided to before getting on it himself, taking position at the front before commanding it to take flight. In the air, Hans commanded his golem to get further away from that creature. As they flew away, Hans started to notice the temperature getting normal. "Stop." the merc said to his golem, and it halted, flying in place in the air, facing the creature...which appeared to have stopped in its tracks...and just stared up at the couple.
They were out of that thing's range...but not from its sights.
Hans cast another spell, Corvi Armis around him and Suna again before looking back at her. "Are you alright?" Hans asked, a hint of concern in his tone. Hans wasn't sure how much his armor could protect the both of them from this creature, but it was the best he could do. Now with the use of his mana tethers, Hans commanded his golem to start circling around the creature so that they could survey it and think about what to do next, and think about what to do next, making sure to stay just outside its range...
A predator based Golem crafted from the darkness of the blade. Just like the previous spell, these golems take the form of a raven, but appear more menacing with their sinister red eyes and dark colored armor, standing up to six meters. They are mainly used for offensive purposes, striking with their sharp wings, talons or beak, but can be used for a bit of information relay and transportation purposes as well (reducing its speed to 20 m/s, and capable of holding up to three people) Additional golems can be summoned as per the ammo rules, capping at three.
Using their grimoire, the user forms an armor of darkness around themselves and/or others for defensive purposes. Through the dark feathery smoke surrounding the armor, the user can pull out a sword crafted from darkness for him or for others to use. The sword can be wielded like an ordinary weapon by anyone, but only the conjurer is capable of controlling them with their mana. The amount of armor and swords that can be summoned follows the ammo rules (Defense Buff will decrease to +6 Durability if more than one armor is summoned) (Spell gains +5 Durability)
Suna leaned back into Hans’ gentle touch on her back. "Couldn’t have finished it off if you hadn’t taken care of the golems first." She protested, though her face glowed at the mercenary’s praise. Of course she loved it when her efforts were recognized, and especially coming from him. "Your ravens also saved those civilians from getting hurt, too." She pointed out. "So it was definitely a ‘we’ thing." She would not hear any other explanations, even if he tried to protest. Her mind was made up, and it was going to settle at that.
Though her mind was set, it seemed like her body seemed to tire from the sudden drop in temperature. It was unnatural. At least the mercenary had caught her, and was running his fingers through her hair. The young woman sighed in contentment. All she wanted to do was to close her eyes...and fall asleep...if that was even possible standing up. But it was not working, and she was only getting colder. As they walked back towards town, her limbs felt heavy and sluggish. Her mind also felt the same, and she barely noticed the mercenary’s demeanor, otherwise she would have seen the wary look on his face.
However, she did notice the peculiar sight at the town center. It was too bizarre to simply pass on as normal, even in her hazy-minded state. Then the strange man in the middle of the courtyard had moved, and her instincts had kicked in. She had screamed, and it seemed to work...somewhat. However, it did not stop him from siphoning the heat of her body. Even though he seemed to be made out of ice, the heat he stole seemed to make him more alive, and his eyes seemed to glow with renewed vigor. A shiver ran through her at the sight.
Suna’s hand had flown up to touch Sapphire Heart, and the necklace began to glow. Mother’s Love. Blue aura puffs gathered around her, attempting to cleanse and heal her body of whatever evil ills this stranger was working. Of course, she had tried to tug Hans away, and the necklace’s effects would also be shared with him through her physical contact, but only if he allowed it.
But as the enemy started walking towards them, the mercenary had immediately stepped in between and summoned his raven golem, which she hopped on quickly. He took control in the front and they took off, up into the sky. The higher they went up, the warmer it got. Or was it just the normal temperature? Whatever it was, the further they got from the strange man, the easier and looser her body movements felt. She had attempted to slip her arms around his waist, though it was more for reassurance than for balance. Then Hans had stopped the raven’s flight, and they were now hovering in mid-air.
"Why?" Suna asked softly, though it was more to herself than to Hans. "Why all this fighting? Who wants to destroy innocent people?" She let out a deep sigh, but it was much different from the one from before. After getting over her initial fear, she was getting irked. She was tired, tired of fighting. But in this situation, running away was not going to do anything either, and what if more unlucky civilians got frozen? There was no way but forward.
Lowering her head to face the enemy, the elf narrowed her gaze. The enemy had only stood there, silently appraising them up from its reach. It would have a fight. It was not going to simply freeze them like the rest of those people. It also seemed like Hans was all ready and preparing to go in, with the magical armor that he cast over her and himself. The dark spell felt reassuring and encouraging around her, and she relaxed slightly.
"Are you alright?"
The blue-haired mage nodded, though she could not see the other mage’s eyes through their magical helmets. "I’ll be fine. Are you?" She squeezed her arms around his waist briefly, then let go. "Let’s get rid of him before he freezes other people." By now, the aura puffs around them had dissipated, and she felt a little better now, as if her mana was no longer so strained. She hummed and summoned her trusty harp. "Ready."
If Hans flew his raven down lower so they could get within range, Suna would start playing, running her fingers elegantly through the strings, yet with a hint of briskness. Rallentando. All this time, she kept a wary eye out for any sudden movements from the enemy. As her sound magic was activated, it shot up from underneath the man’s legs, and thick blue cords attempted to restrain him. She shivered again, this time from tasting the mana she was siphoning from the stranger. It was icy cold, with traces of lingering death all around him. Who was he? And where did he come from?
But at the same time, two ice spears formed around the man, and with a slight flick of his hand, they were sent hurling towards the flying duo. Suna ducked, as one flew dangerously close to her head. An inch more and it would have definitely hit her. However, her sound magic seemed fairly effective against him, and the man looked down to see himself bound and slowed. But Suna was not sure how long her spell would hold the enemy, nor of how powerful it might be. They could not dally around.
Assuming that Hans had maneuvered the raven somehow out of the way of those sharp spears, Suna nudged his back with her arm. "maybe we should split up." She suggested. Like with the candy cane titan, perhaps they would have a better chance of defeating this enemy if they attacked from two different sides. She would ready her magical broom, but before she would fly off separately, her aura magic swirled. It formed two Crescendo rings, one for her and one for Hans.
"Let’s do this."

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Of course, Hans knew that Suna wasn't going to let him have the last word. She pointed out the man's efforts in beating the "golems" formed from that titan as well as how he saved some citizens with the use of his own golems. Despite him still thinking that the sound mage did the most work in the previous battle, the merc couldn't help but still feel proud about his own accomplishments. Instead of trying to continue this little discussion, Hans conceded and started to gently rub the woman's back. "Yeah. We make a good team." the man smiled lightly. Before Suna, Hans never really fought alongside someone he cared for before. He either fought alone or with someone placed on the same job as him. It was completely business....but with Suna, it felt comforting...and reassuring.
And it looks like that they're still going to have to do a bit more fighting...
Both the warm moment, and the literal warmth from the couple's bodies were sapped away, leading the duo to feel cold and sluggish as they tried holding on to each other for warmth. Soon they would catch sight of the chilling culprit behind this and as it tried to steal even more of that warmth from the two, the being stopped from Suna's screams. Even after being pulled back by Suna, and feeling the magic of her necklace trying to repair the damage that was done, Hans kept his eyes trained on the mysterious creature...which slowly made its way to them! Not wanting to risk anything, Hans ended up summoning his golem and both mages got on, now flying further away from the creature.
The raven stopped just outside of the creature's range, and it just stared up at the couple, not uttering a word, nor moving a muscle. It was chillingly still, almost like its frozen victims. Hans' eyes were on the creature at first, his brows furrowed preparing himself for anything it might try to do...but then he heard Suna's hushed words, and it broke his focus. "Suna..." he said in an equally soft tone. His serious expression loosened as he looked over to the sound mage. For Hans, he was used to being thrown into fights at even the most unsuspecting moments at this point, but he could tell that Suna was getting tired of this. The fighting, people's lives being put on the line...Especially on Yuletide of all seasons. Normally, Hans would be blunt about this to most others, telling them that stuff like this will always happen, that there is no escaping this...but he couldn't tell her that. He hated seeing Suna like this, but there is nothing he can do....except be there alongside her.
Instead, the merc placed his hand on top of one of Suna's, currently wrapped around his waist as a dark armor coated around both of them. The hand gesture was all that he could think of doing, to reassure her that she wasn't going through the unfairness of the world alone.
"I’ll be fine. Are you?"
"Might end up catching a cold when this is all over...but other than that, I'm fine." Hans added, trying to lighten Suna up a bit. But it was now time to go to battle....once more.
Hans nodded after the elf prepared herself, and proceeded to descend his golem close enough so that Suna could use her restraining spell on it. The sound-based restraints were successful in hitting their mark...but this caused the creature to retaliate. Finally moving again, although only making a slight gesture, the chilling creature conjured up two spears made of ice, and sent them flying towards the couple! With his mana tethers, Hans commanded his raven to lower out of the way of the first time, barely missing both of them! He was a lot more prepared for the second one, however, and the golem was able to maneuver away from it with ease. Well, at least this confirms that it's capable of doing more than just holding its hand out....
Feeling the nudge on his back, Hans looked over at Suna and nodded to her suggestion. "Right." Splitting up worked well against that titan, so there were no objections. Just before Suna left, Hans saw that aura ring form around one of his armored fingers again, and with it felt the boost to his power again.
"Let’s do this."
"Indeed." As Suna hopped on to her broom, Hans gave her one more look before diving downwards with his raven! The frost being now has its focus on Hans and decided to fire two more of those ice spears at the merc, but Hans was able to dodge both of them before flying back up! Using his Vulpes Corvum spell, Hans, summoned to smaller dark ravens, one flying over each shoulder. Back in the air, the merc faced the creature while remaining out of its range, and said “Percutiens”. With the spoken command, Hans sent one of the smaller ravens flying at the creature where it would then explode on impact! The creature staggered back from the hit, but it did not groan nor hiss in pain. It managed to catch itself and just stood there once again.
If one were to look closely, they would see that the creature was now growing ice formed claws, with a chilling aura surrounding them. But after that...and without much warning, the frost creature quickly turned his attention to Suna, and started running to her direction at top speed! Even though she was in the air, Hans still felt concerned about this and flew at it, able to keep up with the creature's speed. But then....it switched things up.
Frost glanced back at the dark mage with its dead eyes, and without even stopping, it summoned another ice spear and used his mana to send it flying back at Hans! Not expecting it, the merc had to make a last-second maneuver with his golem to barely avoid it...but this also caused the man to slip off of his raven!
Now Hans was currently falling, but with his tethers, the merc's golem dove down, and retrieved its master before he could hit the ground! This unfortunately would give Frost enough time to continue its way towards Suna uninterrupted.

Suna’s necklace had continued to glow, softly emitting its soothing blue aura around them. Mother’s Love. However, the wearer’s mind was anything but calm. It seemed like fighting was now a permanent part of her life, whether she liked it or not. Not only was she put into situations like these, she was forced to have a hand at dealing damage.
Of course, there was no denying that there was a certain type of elation as she successfully put down certain enemies, but on the flip side, she did not grow up like this. Whether she was ready or not, she would never be able to go back to the peaceful and quiet life like before. So what could she do? Grin and bear it until she gets used to it? Or until she becomes numb to killing?
But until all of the current harm has been dealt with, there could be no safety. With the entire town at risk, the sound mage could not, in good conscience, abandon the people to this terrible evil either. So regardless of what she currently felt, she needed to toughen up and battle her way out of this. Thankfully, she was not alone, and Hans’ hand over hers reassured her of that. Whatever happened, at least there was someone she could count on being by her side. She could tell that he was trying to lighten up the mood, and she appreciated him for that.
Suna had loosened her arms around him. The healing was complete, and they were now ready to get back into battle. Her restraining spell Rallentando had momentarily held the man down, but it did not stop him from summoning those ice spears. Hans’ dark armor were around them both, and her Crescendo rings were as well. Time to do something about the danger before he froze the entire town of Nairn.
The femme inhaled and exhaled, then flew off the raven on her magical broom. Blue aura swirled and wrapped themselves into the shape of her Coda swords. A pair of them, hovering by her side with their edges pointing forward. She kept her flying at a wary distance, and waited for the right time. Hans had flown straight down to deal with the man directly, and she was not going to cast her magical swords down there if the mercenary was so close. Power was one thing. Aiming was quite another.
So with that, she flew down closer to the battle scene. He had successfully thrown two of his mini raven-like spells towards the enemy, and it had been knocked back from its impact. Her restraining spell had also loosened from the knockback, and somewhere, something cracked.
Suna froze. For a few moments, her attention was diverted by the stricken faces of those frozen people. They looked like statutes now, and though their eyes were devoid of life, their expressions were not pleasant to look at. If they were not careful, they could very well break these frozen corpses...though she did not know if they were still alive or not. But if they were, she could not hit them with her spells, lest they shatter and who knows what would happen next.
In those few seconds of being distracted, the elf had failed to notice the cold and deadly stranger coming for her...until she sensed Hans falling. "Hans!" She cried out in alarm. That broke her out of her haze, and the blood rushed through her. She could see the dark mage falling, falling...but then his raven golem caught him. She breathed a sigh of relief—until there was a flicker of movement right in front of her.
It was too late. She had been distracted, and had not paid attention. Now, she was paying for it.
She had used her arms to defend herself, and those icy claws slashed down on her. She could feel the dark armor shudder underneath the impact, and she knew they would not protect her indefinitely. He was so close, she could feel the chilling aura suck the warmth from her body. She could see his body seem to fill out and energize again, as if he was being healed from being close to her.
Everything seemed to explode from within her. "Why?!" Her hand had grabbed onto one of her swords, and now she was wildly swinging it at the enemy in front of her. Her motions were wide and frenzied, like an active volcano which was finally erupting. "Why?!"
The otherworldly being had no emotions, no reactions to her cries. Instead, it had summoned a long ice sword and was engaging her in swordplay. Its actions were quick and deft, and the elf struggled to keep up. It had brought down a powerful slash, and as Suna brought Coda up to defend, she could feel it shudder under the pressure. The enemy was much stronger than her, and this spell was going to break soon.
And indeed it did. One more block from an attacking move and her aura sword broken. Undeterred, Suna grabbed the other one floating nearby and continued...though this time, she felt something cold creep over her. Was it fear, or was it the breath of the undead? But there was an advantage to that, as she could feel her frustration and rage fall away. She needed to focus. Emotions was not going to help anything, and would instead get in her way. She needed to think, she needed her mind to be clear. She needed to concentrate.
Block, defend, step out of the way, and repeat...
The female gritted her teeth, tightening her hold on her sword. She was not going to win like this. Her mentor had taught her better than this...but still, she could not win.
She could not...but they could...

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Hans fell back first onto his raven golem and laid there for a second. He was not sure how well his armor would've protected him if he hit the ground, but fortunately, he did not have to find out. The merc sighed in relief before slowly sitting back up. He looked down at his golem, and with a small smile underneath his helmet, the dark mage petted the top of the raven's armored head. He knew very well that his golems weren't truly sentient, but it didn't stop the man from thinking of them as more than just weapons. If he did...then the man would've been no different from his father.
But then the merc's head perked up as he quickly remembered. "Suna!" He looked over to see that the elf was currently engaging that Frost creature in sword combat. Even from where he was, the dark mage could still hear the sound mage's frustrated yells, which only fueled the merc to push forward! Commanding his raven, Hans flew towards the two with his second mini raven still over one of his shoulders. He made it just in time to see one of Suna's magic swords shatter to Frost's ice own, and when this happened, the merc sent his second mini raven at the chilling creature while he was still distracted. The small raven bashed into the back of Frost's head and exploded, causing him to drop his ice sword as he staggered. The ice blade vanished and Frost quickly turned his attention back to Hans with its dead, emotionless eyes set on him.
The merc now drew one of his own magic swords from the dark "smoke" surrounding his armor and was going to strike...until he finally noticed the warmth being sapped away from him again! Hans' battle-ready demeanor nearly faltered, but he was able to take notice of something. The damage he did previously to Frost, along with the one he dealt to the being now...was gone. "What...?" He muttered under his breath just as Frost conjured another ice sword and tried striking Hans with it, who was able to avoid it by making his golem fly up. Quickly putting two and two together about what was going on, Hans gasped lightly before looking over at Suna. "We need to get away from him!" the merc yelled out as he narrowly avoided being hit by the same ice sword that was now flung at him. "It's using our warmth to recover." The merc claimed as he started to fly away from Frost, hoping that the elf would do the same. It was only an assumption, but currently, all evidence was pointing to this. An ice being....that uses heat to recover. Normally, heat has the opposite effect on ice creatures...but this creature was anything but ordinary.
Hans continued to fly until he couldn't feel Frost's chilling embrace and stopped. Frost threw yet another of those ice spears, but due to the distance, Hans had enough time to avoid it. The merc pondered on how to go about this before looking over to his woman again. "We're going to need to attack it from afar...or it'll just keep healing itself." Hans suggested. There was also the option of just rushing in and hitting it with everything they got, but they still didn't know enough about this creature. Such a reckless move could end up costing them dearly.
From the corner of Hans' eyes, the merc saw Frost raising both his arms up as if it were surrendering...but that was far from what he was trying to do. The chilling aura surrounding Frost started to glow brighter, and as this happened, mini icicles started to form around the ice being, dozens upon dozens....all pointing at the mage couple whether they were together or not. Then Frost lowered his arms, and the icicles all went flying at their targets! They were extremely hard to avoid, but Hans was able to dodge them at first...but his golem couldn't keep up for long and started getting bombarded by them! Hans' armor was thankfully keeping him protected, each icicle just shattering apart on impact....but his golem was not fairing well. The icicles pierced through the raven until it couldn't fly any longer...and faded away into a puff of darkness. The merc was once again falling...this time with no golem to save him.
He fell hard on the snowy ground along with his magic sword....but suffered no real damage thanks to said snow and his defensive armor. He was still pretty rattled up however as he laid there for a bit. The dark mage groaned as he felt his ears ringing, and slowly sat back up, but the first thing he saw when he got back up....was Frost running at him! The merc quickly picked up his magic sword, and a dark aura was now surrounding it. With one slash, Hans sent a dark crescent-shaped projectile at Frost in the form of his Flying Chaos Slash! It struck Frost, momentarily stopping him as he now had a slash wound on his chest, but then he started running again, and once he was in range, Frost started to siphon the warmth from Hans again...making the wound fade like it was never there. This started to frustrate Hans, but even with his warmth being stolen, the dark mage stood to his feet and readied his magic sword.
Hans tried striking Frost with it when he approached, but the being clashed against the spell crafted weapon with his claws...and easily tore through it! The magic sword broke into dark pieces that scattered around them on the ground before fading away. Frost brought its claws down on Hans this time, and even though the force of the attack was able to knock Hans over, his armor still protected him. Despite this not working, Frost continued clawing at Hans until the armored mage kicked him off...but of course, that little bit of damage was recovered as well.
The merc could feel himself growing weaker from the lack of heat...but again he tried to stand. Was there any way that they could beat this creature?

Name of Spell: Darkness Magic: Flying Chaos Slash Elemental Type: Dark Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate - Attack Creation Range & Speed: 30 meters - 15 m/s Mana Cost: 20 (Initial) - 10 (Sustain) Stats Effected: +6 Power (Battle Knight) Applicable Perks: Battle Knight/Quick Shot/Skilled Sniper Description: As the user's grimoire flips to the page of the spell, the blade of the user's sword (or their arm if no weapon is in use) will be wrapped in a pitch black aura. The user then swings their sword (arm), releasing the dark aura from it in the form of a wave of darkness taking the shape of a waning moon with a length of five feet. The slash is capable of leaving painful cuts and bruises to those struck with it, the dark aura fading away shortly after. The user can follow up with an additional slash every twenty control gained.
Using their grimoire, the user conjures up a raven (an additional can be formed per twenty control gained) made out of darkness that flies idly by them with a length of twenty-six inches and a wingspan of four feet. Upon a spoken command of “Percutiens” or a gesture of their weapon, the user sends the bird flying at their target(s) exploding on impact, dealing blunt damage as well as knocking them back up to four meters (an additional five meters per ten power gained).
The enemies they have been fighting—they have all been out of the ordinary. This one was no different. Suna was struggling, and both she and her enemy knew it. She may have shattered one of his ice swords, but it had also shattered hers. Just as they were going to start the second round of their bout, she sensed something above her and instinctively raised her sword in front of her, on guard. It was Hans’ mini raven that hit the frosty man, and he staggered back from the impact. But now its attention was on the mercenary, and she saw how their presence was actually fueling or healing the man.
At Hans’ warning, she leapt back and snatched up her broom that she had dropped earlier when she was attacked. She jumped on and flew up out of harm’s way. For the moment, at least. With the ice mage now attacking Hans, Suna could take a few breaths and steady herself. She summoned another one of her Coda swords, to replace the one that was broken. She watched Hans try his hand at fighting him, but saw that he came to the same realization that she had.
"We're going to need to attack it from afar...or it'll just keep healing itself."
Suna nodded, and without a word, flew as far as she could without actually getting out of her range. So fighting up close and personal would not work. Ranged it is, then. Then she beheld the frosty-eyed man raise his hands, and mini icicles formed all around him. "Watch out!" She shouted, and let one of her aura swords fly at him, while she defended herself from the onslaught of icicles with the other.
However, the ice mage was too fast, and her attack missed him by a hair’s breadth. The mini icicles were also too many and too thick, and her sword could not block them all. Suna could barely see through the tiny shards of ice that were flying her way, and could feel some of them embedding into the armor, though most broke upon impact. Still, she knew that the dark protection would not last forever. It was all she could do to keep herself flying and at least swing away the ones aimed towards her face and upper body. But then it suddenly stopped and she could see again.
Hans! Where is he? She looked about frantically. There, on the ground...what happened to his raven golem? And... No. Immediately, she launched her aura sword at the icy stranger...and it missed. Again. The sound mage let out a cry of frustration. Why was the thing so freaking hard to control? And now her horror grew as she saw that creature get close to Hans and gain the upper hand. It took some damage from the mercenary, but was able to break his magical sword and was now clawing at her man.
"Hans!" The moment Hans kicked the ice mage away, Suna threw the only other thing she had on hand at the moment—her Crescendo ring. Thankfully, she was close enough so that it actually hit this time. As it came in contact with the man, the aura ring burst and knocked him back. It was weak against him, but at least pushed him away from the mercenary.
Still, a feeling of hopelessness started to creep in. What could they do? Even when in range, she could not aim well, and that thing was way too fast and kept on healing itself.
Then she nearly smacked her forehead with her palm. Did she really just forget that somehow, her sound magic had seemed to throw the enemy off? What was she doing?
She hummed for her harp again, and that caught the enemy’s attention. Quick, quick, Suna. It was a challenge, with her beating heart and freezing fingers to pluck out a soothing and slow melody...but she managed. Barely. Her sound magic once again snaked up to bind the man’s feet. If she could keep him from moving too fast, they would have a better chance. And sure enough, it seemed like her element did affect him. For once, her useless sound magic was not so useless.
She was so frustrated by now, she was just about ready to throw anything at the ice mage. Accent. So with her slow melody still going on, she accented several notes, which formed similarly shaped projectiles that she launched off at Frost, almost at point blank. Seven in all, each after the other in quick succession.
Was...was that enough to finish him off?

"When you spend so long trapped in darkness, you find that the darkness begins to stare back."
Hans has come across his fair share of healers but never has he ever encountered a creature like this before. It heals by siphoning the heat from others, making its victims grow weak in the process. Every strike dealt to this ice being by the mage couple was proving to be pointless so far. Even when trying to get a range advantage over it, the frost being will just start throwing its incredibly fast projectiles, and dash off towards one of the mages. Unlike the previous monsters, the couple faced, this one was intelligent and prepared. With those also backed up by its impressive strength and spells, it was a truly formidable foe. If it weren't for Suna's healing and Hans' armor, the two would probably have met a chilling end to this being...
But they hadn't given up yet.
After kicking Frost off of him, Hans was about to retaliate, until he sensed something heading their way. Looking up, Hans quickly hopped back as he saw the sound mage's aura ring approaching, then collide with Frost which created a burst that sent the ice creature flying away a bit! The attack may have moved the creature away, but it did not flinch, nor growl in pain. Yet again the injuries faded from the creature, making it appear as if nothing happened! Hans growled lightly in frustration over this. Just what in the hell were they supposed to do to this thing!?
Despite being attacked by Suna, Frost still had his attention on Hans. Slowly, the creature stepped towards the armored merc...but the elf wasn't finished with it yet. She bombarded Frost with another spell, a sound one, and much to Hans' surprise, the ice being was reacting to this one! It crouched over and hissed in pain at the sound magic, finding it hard to remain on its feet. As he watched this, the dark mage recalled something that happened earlier. When Suna shouted at the monster, it recoiled a bit....It must have been reacting to her raw sound magic!
Heat may not be able to melt this ice being...but sound is still capable of shattering it!
Once Suna stopped, Frost continued to hiss, and it now had its sinister eyes on the elf that caused it so much pain! It looked at her with a burning fury which was a complete contrast to its unsettling blank expression. It even started to heal again now...but Hans wasn't going to let this happen again, not when such a good opening has presented itself!
Taking his greatsword out of its sheath, Hans held onto the hilt with both hands and ran up to Frost while its back was still turned. Before the ice creature could react, its eyes and mouth shot right open as the dark-colored greatsword impaled it through the back, coming right out of its chest! Hans held the sword there for a few seconds before sliding it out, frozen blood now coating the dark blade. Frost staggered for a bit, weakly holding its hand out to Suna like before...but with one final cold breath, it collapsed, face first into the snowy ground. The unnatural freezing temperature slowly subsided, and the merc could feel the heat no long leaving his body. Hans shook his sword once, throwing the blood off of it as he kept his eyes on Frost. Once whatever was left of its sinister mana was gone, Hans lowered his greatsword and sighed in relief.
Still feeling sluggish, Hans dropped the armor from both himself and Suna before looking over to her with a weak smile. He opened his mouth, about to say something until something behind the elf drew his attention. An aura of some kind was surrounding Forst's frozen victims. Their mana...life force? Whatever it was, the aura started to leave these frozen corpses and floated into the air....molding together. Something....or someone was starting to take form....
"St-steady yourself....We're not done yet....."

Dealt the final BLOW to Frost by attacking it with Raven's Grasp, dealing x1 Senior Damage
As she launched off a barrage of Accents, she could see the frost man stagger back. It was working. He had his attention solely on the sound magic that was affecting him so profoundly. As the last of her attacks hit her target, she saw Hans go in with his greatsword. It was all so perfect, the timing. The mercenary went up from its back, driving his blade straight through its chest, eyes and mouth boggling open in shock and pain and ice and everything not nice.
Such a terrible and ugly sight, and Suna had leapt back when she saw the dark mage move. The enemy’s hand was outstretched towards her, like it was trying to heal itself with her heat...but then it toppled over, dead. Truly and completely dead. Thank heavens. She could feel her natural body warmth returning to her, and the negative energy slowly dissipated from the area. It was over.
Suna gave her partner a tired smile, her energy was pretty much spent. She may have grown stronger, but there was still a clear limit as to how much she could handle in a day. The end of her endurance was coming, and she did not know how much longer she could keep this up.
"St-steady yourself....We're not done yet....."
Her eyes saw the bizarre sight that happened next, but by now, she has ceased to be surprised by these things. The elf only let out a deep sigh.
"How much longer until this can be over?"
- fine - (for now)
