Three days, the church had asked them to stay for making sure that no more reindeer or something else showed up to mess up all of the decoration or whatever it is they are doing. Waylynn didn’t really inquire that far. Instead they were mostly just forced to wait around while nothing happened which was starting to get on her nerves, the fact that something started happening on the third day only caused her to be far more annoyed. What reason did whatever was happening have for delaying a whole three days before starting up again. She had been walking around outside when it had started, the market had fresh bread in the morning and she was going to get some before the crowds of commoners muddied up the place. A cannonball sized chunk of ice broke the bread table, a perfect metaphor for the mostly unpleasant time she had to spend being put up in this town.[break][break]
Now however she was far away from that spot, and though the ice still fell towards the town there was a barrier of sorts protecting it, it seemed that it was all the mages of the city could do to maintain such a defence. So as if they had foreseen such a situation they had called on Waylynn, Michail and Charles yet again to seek out the source of this and put a stop to it. If she were more of a cynic she would say that this was somehow related to the issue that had brought them to the town in the first place. It didn’t matter actually, but it would be nice if she could throttle whoever was making them trudge through the snow in this awful weather. She looked behind her at her brother and the black bull, the snowfall wasn’t doing them any better.[break][break]
”Can you sense them yet Charles? I’m sure I saw one of the ice balls originate around here, unless they’re moving before each volley.” She guessed that they were at least smarter than the animals they had been fighting recently if they were causing enough of a problem for the whole town to essentially be locked down. This of course wasn’t exactly the situation she would have liked, but then if it was it would hardly be a mission. She pulled her coat up a bit farther, they would be fighting soon she could feel the tension in the air when they had gotten close whoever it was already knew there were here.[break][break]

Michail didn't mind. The entire thing was quite concerning to him still. Perhaps it was because he was a normally paranoid person that he still questioned if things were truly right. They had only neutralized the threat, but to him they hadn't actually solved the problem. A true Magic Knight should aspire to cut the problem out at the root, rather than just jump to violence and deal with all of their problems in that manner. He was too dignified for such basic drudgery anyway.
So he was happy when the Church had requested that they stay. He wanted to figure out more about this anomaly. Mages from the Church also were set out to assist in defending the town due to yeti attacks. Evidently a common occurrence, especially around this time of year. However, he himself had never seen a yeti. Truthfully, he would have preferred it to be that way.
Still, he understood the concern. This was definitely a reason for concern. Even if it wasn't yeti, he could hear the thunderous crashing of ice against the barrier. Whatever it was, it was certainly not human. It was definitely large. If it wasn't a yeti responsible, he certainly didn't want to imagine what it would be.
"Even if he can sense them, might I suggest we use this opportunity to plan? We can safely assume that they're brutes and of low intelligence. But they also have the means to attack from afar. This is certainly troublesome, wouldn't you agree? I'd like to suggest something a bit different than our normal means of doing things. Brutish as they're likely to be, yeti are still beasts. I will take the role of alerting them with my magic, focusing their attention on me. Charles, as you are able to sense them, I'd like you to be hiding in some method, if possible. Waylynn, as a precaution, it might be best to use Charles as the vanguard, with you going in only after he does. This does mean not using your area spells, of course; however, I can still offer assistance. You two will keep them busy by attacking close range so they will not have time to try assaulting me."
"...Though this plan only works if there are more of us than there are of them. I'd prefer not to have to fight in a direct method if it can be avoided. This has less to do with simply being above it, and more I just don't do well in close quarters to begin with."

[attr="class","glentext"] Three days after he went to a mission with the Ravencrest twins the Church had requested them to come back to the village. It wasn't normal for him to be called back a few days after a mission took place so this made him raise some questions regarding why they needed to come back. Something he learned as his time as a Magic Knight is that he was called back to the same place a few days after then likely the issue was yet to be solved. It was something far deeper than he initially thought. It definitely had to do with the mutated deers they found, maybe more mutated animals were spotted? [break][break] The Church created a protective barrier around the town to keep the town safe from any debris and anyone inside it. Charles was able to feel something strange with his Ki. The weather felt rather unusual and the entire place felt stranger compared to the last one he was here. Something definitely off, he was able to feel it, but he was unable to get a grasp on what it was. The cold weather was also annoying him, he disliked it and now that it was worse it just made him want to get this over with once and for all. [break][break] Waylynn asked Charles if he was able to sense the Yetis, which he did. They weren't too far away from the protective barrier, so the silver mage was able to sense them. "I sense three yetis up ahead." He replied to the Green Mantis' question. Michail later said that they could use this time to plan, which was a good idea. The magical barrier was going to go down eventually, so might as well use their remaining time to properly plan out their attack. Make use of all of the resources available was a good thing. The Silver Eagle told him to hide, which was something he wouldn't have much trouble with thanks to a special ability his ring possessed. "Alright then... I wouldn't have much issue with hiding. You probably wouldn't see me. It sounds good for me, the plan is good enough for the small amount of time we have. Anyway, see you two soon." The Black Bull told the two that it was possible they probably wouldn't see him. Even if the Yetis were able to sense him he will be able to use the speed boost as an advantage to properly attack them. A translucid smoke started to come out of Charles's ring, though this was only seen by the silver mage as it began to cover his body. A few seconds afterwards it seemed like he wasn't there anymore pretty much invisible to the two other Magic Knights. Charles went into position keeping his distance and waiting for Michail to start his attack, he didn't want to stay too close otherwise it may be possible for the yeti to sense him. [break]

Waylynn sighed, of course Michail would be nervous facing something neither of them had ever seen before, and surely regardless of whatever else they were they would be physical brutes. It was simply in his nature to try and get someone that wasn’t related to them to go in first. Still it was more practical than simply confronting unknown enemies directly. ”You’ve no need to explain yourself in such a manner brother, if there were those who would misinterpret your strategy as pretentious then should it not be that their opinion would be beneath notice? Still I am not unable to do things from behind the front line, and it should be good enough to keep any from entering into a melee with you.” She certainly wasn’t going to sit around while they set things up that was for sure so instead she chose a suitable tree from their position and poured her magic onto it tracing the circle of salt until it disappeared from sight a moment later.
”There, this should be enough to intercept them should they simply charge towards us.” Charles had vanished by the time she had finished, so there was no point in trying to change anything about the plan. ”Let us begin then.”

Charles acknowledged his own superior stealth prowess compared to Michail's own. That was fine, Michail knew he was not really cut out for hiding, and his sensory abilities were already unacceptably low. Whether or not the commoner was bragging or not didn't matter. The Ravencrest was forced to acknowledge his words as fact. For now, at least.
Before Charles quite literally vanished up in smoke, he pointed out that he could pick up on three yeti in the surrounding area. That did sound plausible, but it was possible there were more. Still, for now, Michail saw no reason to change the plan. Even if there were just as many yeti as there were Magic Knights present, they hadn't picked up on them yet. Michail himself had visual on them, his eyes being exceptionally suited for things like this due to his combat style.
Assuming that Waylynn was still near him, he motioned quietly that he was going to advance without cover. Being the decoy was not particularly a role that suited him, but of the three, he was the most suited to drawing the attention, and the least qualified to properly land a sneak attack. The nature of his magic wasn't quite yet at a level to deal lethal blows to more durable enemies, though he had been training quite hard to improve the overall quality of his magic regardless. And of course, he was an adamant believer that sneak attacks should always be lethal with their element of surprise.
The twin took notice of Waylynn's trap; even if he could not sense it, he could note that she had one set, and it was likely poised near her. The tree she was near was likely the target given how she had poised herself. If he was to truly make the most of this, he'd try alerting their attention to that general location, to maximize the effectiveness of the trap that Waylynn had prepared.
As cautiously as he could, Michail moved away from the cover he had, drudging through the snow quietly. It was difficult for him, however, as he wasn't used to this, green as he was. This, unfortunately, meant that his best attempts at trying to get into a comfortable position before launching his magic were for not: all three yeti had their eyes on him.
Even still, for all of his many faults (in the eyes of the others), losing his composure in the heat of battle over something that he realized was beyond his abilities was something he could still be counted on not doing. Emphasis, however, on something that was beyond his abilities and he was aware of it.
"I suppose it was inevitable...," Michail thought as he readied his grimoire. "Blood Creation Magic: Hyper Ultra Bloodcrest Armor!" he declared as he readied himself for the impending battle. But he wasn't going to just leave it with that. The yeti were already readying an attack of their own, and he had to make damn sure he could stop it before it hit him.
"Blood Magic: Really Awesome Bloodblade!""
Four swords in total came barreling from where he stood, twenty meters away from the yeti. Each one was precise, managing to land a hit on their targets, but ultimately held little effect. The yeti shrugged it off and quickly realized that Michail was of little threat. Still, one of them who had been stabbed twice by this attack seemed a little more weakened. As a result, rather than immediately going in with his brethren, it decided to build... a fort?
In the heat of battle, Michail couldn't realize what was going on, instead opting only to brace himself as one of the yeti came barreling towards him, readying to strike him dead center, and as another was readying to toss a large ice spear; the same sort that had crashed against the barrier. If this went through, it was certainly going to hurt, but he'd be alive. At the very least, he had already wounded all of the yeti enough to where Waylynn and Charles would be able to pick them off with ease.
Artillery Support: Those with this perk can reduce the required control it takes to produce an extra ammo by 5.
Description: Blood Creation Magic: Really Awesome Bloodblade is Michail's "Plan B" for dealing with opponents, or also his "finishing" spell (or whatever the equalivent for a Junior ranked spell is). Visually, it as bare-bones as a sword could possibly be. The "hilt" is made to be wielded with one hand, with the pommel being reminiscent of a raven upon it. The crossguard is a completely horizontal surface without any details in it, roughly as wide as Michail's hand is when completely open, fingers stretched out. The sword itself is no different than any standard European sword, either, if not a bit on the thinner end of things. The swords have very minute ability to be controlled magically, in the sense it's a magical connection that can cause them to launch, but cannot be controlled currently once launched. However, they are suspended in the air by magic till he grabs them, and can still be grabbed with after the fact, as long as he keeps paying to sustain the Spell.[break][break]
However, its lack of detail aside, the most impressive thing about this sword is, despite being made out of blood, it is fully solid. It can function as a sword (at least, when compared to other spells of the same rank). Still, it lacks the same sharpness of a sword, and cannot penetrate deeply. Against a worn-out enemy, it is still very possible to use the side of the sword to cause blunt damage for a non-lethal victory--the tactic used in the Magic Knight exams. This exact method is his Plan B. [break][break] Similarly to Very Very Crazy Arrow Go, he can craft as many of these swords for every five [CON] due to [Artillery Support]. By default, they will appear in front of him, eventually circling around him with the blades facing outward. All of the swords appear within arms reach and can be ejected at will. Unlike Very Very Crazy Arrow Go, the main purpose of this is to cause lacerations, weak as they might be for its rank.
Dug In: If a player decides to remain within the same 5 meters during a post, their defense spells gain +5 durability. For every additional post they remain fix, this increases by +1. Capping after 5 rounds.
Description: Blood Magic: Hyper Ultra Bloodcrest Armor is a Defense Creation Spell that covers Michail's entire body. A result of this gives his skin a blood red appearance. Though to call it "armor" is very generous; it's quite thin. It is decent enough at fending off attacks, especially attacks that aren't magically reinforced, however. Against other attacks of equal rank, it's passable, at the bare minimum, but still leaves a lot to be desired.[break][break]
It's more accurate to say that this thin armor is more something to use in addition to the mana skin, acting as an in between layer, due to it's inability to protect clothing. However, this armor is capable of growing even stronger when Michail remains still, allowing more mana to more easily be formed to cling to it.

[attr="class","glentext"] At times it was hard for him to believe that a ring that some woman gave him back at Kikka would end up being part's of Charles's arsenal when it comes to performing missions. It was a rather strange ring with rare properties and magical abilities. It was able to turn him invisible to the naked eye unless someone had a strong sensory ability or even Ki to detect him regardless if they were able to see him or not. A strange ring given to him for the sake of defeating the daemons was now filling in an even bigger purpose, despite his use of it in certain situations for solving common problems. Now he found himself using one of its abilities yet again. It was quite surprising that someone from nobility would play a role such as decoy, it seemed a bit off-character from someone as pretentious as Michail. By the looks of it, he was probably not as good in stealth as him or his sister and that's why he believed on playing that role instead of Charles. [break][break] The battle was about to start, Michail decided to act as a decoy. He was the first to attack the three yeti that were ahead him. The Black Bull was able to sense that they were stronger compared to the mutated deers they faced a few days back. They posed a much bigger threat to the town and its citizens that the previous enemies. The Silver Eagle's attack didn't do much to them, except to one of yeti's slightly weakened. Instead of charging going on the offensive with the other two yetis decided to build some sort of fort. While the other two decided to charge towards Michail, they were fixated on his presence seemingly disregarding him or even Waylynn. Either way Charles saw this as the perfect time to make his move, unfortunately his ability to go invisible didn't make the cold around him vanish. [break][break] The silver mage re-appeared north-weast and at least a few meters away from Michail's position as he was about to get attacked by the two yeti's. Charles's grimoire came alight and floated beside him giving off a light green aura. "Silver Magic: Hero's Silver Shield" He called out the name of his spell as a shining silver shield appeared in front of Michail with several sparks of electricity coming out of it. Protecting him from the spear that was yeti was about to toss at him and the other yeti that was ready to fight him in close range. "You guys are far more annoying than the previous ones... Silver Magic: Silver Barrage." Large silver spikes rose from the ground, at least 20 cubic meters in size, each spike being at least 2 meters thick began extending towards the yeti that was rushing Michail. The spell was at least three times faster than the yeti, eventually reaching it and killing it in one hit something that Michail was unable to do. The difference between him and the two Ravencrest twins was clear now. The yeti who stood threw the spear towards Michail was now fixated in his presence, which was no surprise. [break]

Waylynn wasn't exactly happy about letting Michail take the decoy role but at the same time he was more suited to getting all of their enemies at once. She had to settle for setting a trap which she was now far away from and instead her brother was standing near it, at a decent distance of course when he launched his attacks. She watched, from behind a tree as he struck them, interrupting their previous activates of throwing their Ice Spears at the town. She had to resist the urge to jump out and put herself between the Yeti and her brother, they had a plan and she needed to stick to it, which paid off for all of them as Charles exacted the surprise attack decently killing the charging Yeti and rendering the second's attack null.
The third Yeti hadn't gotten close yet, but it was obviously within range of attacks even though it had built a fort of sorts out of snow. She watched the second though as it assessed Charles, and... There! It was within range of her trap. She snapped her fingers and the small piller of salt caught the Yeti off guard and blasted it back into a tree where it slumped down no longer moving. That was good enough for her to move to the next one. "Salt Sickle" She conjured the blade of salt and hurtled it towards the remaining Yeti that had built it's fort, of course it ducked inside so her spell simply stuck into the outside of it doing practically nothing in terms of making the building crumble. She clicked her tongue at it clearly it was a bit more solid than she had anticipated it would be. It would take her some time to chip it down on her own regardless of Salt's natural enhanced reaction to it, it was packed too tightly much like an igloo.
"I can't break through quickly as it could raise more, perhaps with a bit more power. Care to try your hand I don't want to waste too much more time on this." She shouted that one towards the others before the fort Yeti tossed out a spear from behind his walls towards her, It was too fast for her to dodge but thankfully it only cracked against her Manaskin and knocked her over into a snow drift. She could only blame herself for taking things too lightly.
