Things in Aries Garse seemed to have... calmed down at least. People seemed to still be on edge after the bells, and why wouldn't they? Those bells were truly atrocious. The effect it had on the people was an absolutely disgusting effect. Naturally, it had upset the woman. The way these people ended up was way too reminiscent of Kikka, turning them into out of control beings who just wanted to cause havoc upon their own city.[break][break]
It hadn't been that long since Kikka, and she was blessed that she didn't have to deal with the same trials and tribulations that the others had to before her. She was blessed that she had received some help in some form then. Her entire life had been one where she learned not to judge a book by its cover, both in the literal and metaphorical sense of the words.[break][break]
Nobles were largely disgusting human beings, but there were good ones, few and far between as they might have been. Magic Knights were not all as terrible as she thought, but there were some 'exceptions'. Commoners were largely decent people, but there were some just as likely to be as rotten to their core as others. A daemons set of ethics could be blacker than the darkest night, but they still had the capacity to demonstrate human values such as love, compassion, and even morality.[break][break]
The world was not black and white. Everyone had reasons for doing what they did. Perhaps that viewpoint in of itself might have been black and white, too. Perhaps there were those who simply were too unhinged to care to come up with a reason to defend their ways. But the woman hadn't met anyone like that quite yet, and she would cross that bridge when she did.[break][break]
As her golems were on clean up duty, assisting Zaven in whatever way they could, she took a look around the city. Aries Garse was a town littered with conmen, but also with hard-working people. They didn't rely on others, and why would they? The Magic Knights had failed them once before in the Siege, and the initial attack in Kikka had failed Clover. They likely thought of them as failures. They only relied on one another.[break][break]
But right now, nobody had any choice but to rely on the help they were given by these two outsiders. The towers had to be destroyed; perhaps, Zaven could have been more precise and focused solely on the bells themselves. Perhaps that would have solved things. But ultimately, that was not how it played out. Even if the bells were the issue, the fact of the matter was that the towers had caused damage just by erecting.[break][break]
"An attack on the people... focusing in the market area..." Verena mused as she had nearly finished helping Zaven with removing debris. "Mm... no, there's not enough information to go off. It's possible, but I shouldn't jump to conclusions..."[break][break]
Either way, Verena was certain of one thing, as she was sure Zaven was too. By this point, it was no mere 'chance'. This was an attack. The Reinsberg felt it best to regroup with Zaven now that things were starting to look like they were looking up, but she knew that it wasn't going to last.[break][break]
Once she made it to the Shadow of the Down, her horrendous movement speed aside, she asked, "Uhm... Zaven, do you think we should try to set up security measures in some form? I doubt we'll get any help from the people, but... it's only a matter of time before another attack happens."
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Zaven spent the night wondering about the connections to the Blake family and Aries Garse. The obvious was that the shady underside could support the business dealings that Zaven’s father kept up. However in the estate, Rolin’s dealings were unusually hard to obtain and with a few greased palms it became evident that Rolin’s fingers sunk deeper into Clover’s underworld than most family’s cared to admit. He drank at least a bottle of Ravencrest wine, noting that it tasted different on his tongue than before...he did not think anything of it before finally passing out near 4:30 a.m. His dreams were twisted visions of what could be the source; His father may have reached a bargain with some otherworldly being, a daemon incursion like the ones at Kikka and Raque, it could even be some simple by the book curse that was placed by someone and not even remotely tied to his father the entire time. Regardless Zaven awoke that morning with two dark circles under his eyes and a headache, he was not hungover, but he almost wished he was with all the hustle and bustle that was the outside rabble. ”At least the people seem happy...that is what counts.” He said as he ordered a coffee and a simple breakfast, it was given to him within the first fifteen minutes of order which was nice. The people seemed to hold the Blake noble in high regard now. [break][break]
After paying for his food and drink he disappeared out the door, he took the mug of coffee with him, he knew he would have to pay for it, but for the time being that was the farthest thing from his mind as he set out to see the remainder of the rubble left behind at the attack site of yesterday's event. Seeing Verena already there and putting her golems to work as the townspeople already started to lend a hand. Even the people that Zaven saved and rented a room for were out and cleaning up...it was a sight to behold, a yule miracle if you will. He finished his coffee and sat the mug down on a balcony as he made his way to go help. He thought about a different way he could have done his attacks the previous day, possibly made a bit less of a mess for everyone to pick up...but then again he was known as a force of nature now...not as a precise tool. He made a mental note to work on this for later as he picked up a few stones and began to move them over to the rubble pile, he thought about summoning a golem to assist him, but by the looks of things...if he did so he would just make people uneasy about the situation. So he did it the old fashioned way and as he dropped the rubble off he spied Verena and made his way over to her as she spoke up about the security of the Garse, this little interaction made Zaven nod his head in agreement before finally speaking up. ”Getting help from the Magic Knights would just make the people here more uneasy...this place is a unique place where a person can shed their mask and be themselves...or don a new mask and be someone else. Even my presence makes people uneasy here...however after the events and helping with the dungeon during yule festivities around the capital...they seem to be warming up to me.” He said with a laugh before scratching the back of his head and giving a sigh. [break][break]
She was right though...there was bound to be something around the corner just waiting to jump out next and he knew that there was very little that could be done...he just hoped that he was around to help out when that time came. ”I will remain here during the remainder of the Yule festivities...and I will make sure that if something was to happen I will be around to make sure I stop whatever problems that may arise further. You do not have to stick around unless you absolutely feel like you have to. However, I do appreciate the help you have given me since that freak snowstorm that started this damn series of events. In his head he was still worried that this was all some sort of machination from his father, but he also began to suspect something else...and it went back to his first time going into a dungeon with the Golden Trio. The Krampus Dungeon...that damn place made him actually despise this time of the year for quite some time. He fought the father of christmas turned fucking manic and his evil brother...then now he fought against the damn fairy tale twisted versions of old tales from frosty and rudolph stories...then it hit him like a ton of bricks as he blinked and looked at Verena. ”Call me crazy if this makes no sense to you in all honesty, but I once fought in a yule dungeon...ran by Krampus...I knew that last year, or rather before the shattering it showed up again...this year there was the spire that dominated the Garse...filled with old little folktale storybook creatures and mana beasts that were a little too twisted to my liking. You don’t possibly believe that this is the doing of Krampus or his brother do you...not saying I actively believe in santa...but I DID fight the big bastard once...that was a fun time of nearly dying.” He said as he was starting to connect the dots...there was no way in hell this was another Krampus sighting, this had to be some sort of twisted joke that was being played upon the Garse and well...he was going to kick the ass of whatever, or whoever decided it was a good idea.

Whereas Zaven was up last night pondering the relations his own family had with places like Aries Garse, Verena hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep. Her mind was preoccupied with everything that had happened. First, and foremost on her mind was the fact she had a brother, and from how the Shadow of the Dawn had spoken on the matter, it was not particularly a childhood much better than her own, if at all. What had the family put him through? The brunette found herself wishing for Julien's safety and well being now that he had become one of the Silver Eagles, though it was a pleasant surprise.[break][break]
Of course, it wasn't as though she only found herself thinking of Julien. The happenings here in Aries Garse were far too ... convenient to be mere circumstantial. She was positive of that. Abnormal levels of snow, snowmen attacking the town and yule promotions, as well as the strange trance that had afflicted the town into destroying their own homes and anything related to the Yule Festival. When one thought about it logically, Verena could come up with a broad motive for the culprit; they had something against Yule in some form. It could have been anything related to it; there were still things missing, after all.[break][break]
Those here didn't seem to mind neither Zaven nor her own presence and involvement, but they did seem a bit more on edge around the Captain of the Golden Dawn. Still, that much was to be expected all things considered. He was a Magic Knight; a captain. And they were a town of cutthroats and con artists; there was no reason for them to get all buddy with him. If they could get help and still put distance between themselves and him, they would. Even still, the Blake had done them a great favor, and so it was only natural to return kindness given the scope of what the man had done.[break][break]
In Verena's case, the people here weren't as distant, but it was obvious that she was not a social person to begin with, and as a result they didn't approach her anymore than necessary. There was never a thank you, of course, but it wasn't as if the woman was seeking gratitude from these people to begin with. She acted because she believed something was wrong and irregular, and she wanted to fix it. It didn't get any simpler than that.[break][break]
The Reinsberg was the first to have left the inn and she was using her golems to assist with the rebuilding of damaged buildings as a result of Zaven's actions. It was the least she could do, after all. No doubt if they didn't get any assistence with things, it would only fuel animosity between Magic Knights at large and people. The woman didn't quite have a read on the Golden Executioner, and thus she felt that it would be in the Order's best interest if she helped in case they thought that she might have been a Magic Knight; still, the woman had no intention of lying about it regardless.[break][break]
Verena didn't really feel hungry yet; she was tired after building all those barricades to give Zaven a clean shot at the bells without having to worry about the frenzied villagers at the time, but she had slept that off. Of course, not having any money on her was quite enough reason to not try to get a breakfast. As soon as she was certain things had finished here, the heiress had every intention of going hunting and getting something to eat.[break][break]
More importantly, Zaven had responded to her query, explaining that getting help from the Magic Knights would cause issue at large. Verena didn't mean from the Magic Knights at large; only the two of them right here, right now, of course, but that was on her for not explaining it better. Verena noted that the raven-haired man was self-aware enough to know that people weren't entirely comfortable with him being here despite being grateful. It was in important skill to possess, and it was relieving that a Magic Knight, especially a captain, possessed such a trait.[break][break]
Zaven further explained that he had every intention of being around for the festivities at large, just in case. That was definitely the smartest approach. If he wasn't a Captain, she probably would have argued against it, but there was no Magic Knight squad here in Aries Garse to help defend the people. Furthermore, his position as a captain effectively cemented him as a figure head of what Magic Knights should be, especially when he was the captain of the Golden Dawn.[break][break]
...Still, it was a little sad. Because of the events that had transpired five years ago, Verena had a taste of freedom, even if a little limited. She had ran away from her responsibilities and duties, even if it could have been argued as justified. Zaven, however, did not get that luxury of escape. He was imprisoned by his own responsiblities. Shackled by being a Magic Knight, Captain of the Golden Dawn, a noble, and head of his family. These were all respectable things. But the responsibilities and expectations that came with must have been soul crushing in the beginning.[break][break]
"That's very commendable," Verena began to say, praising him after an initial silence before the man had started speaking about Krampus. "...I mentioned it before, but I have an issue with how some Magic Knights are, as well as the only necessary requirement to becoming one in the exams is a matter of talent. I'm still not sure what exactly goes through your mind. You're a difficult person to read, and that scares me. I dislike not knowing what to expect from a person... not that one can ever truly know what a person will or will not do at all times. But... I'm glad you have a strong sense of duty to your people. Similarly, I have every intention of seeing this through as well."[break][break]
"After Kikka, it's probably become even harder to work as a Magic Knight at all levels. But seeing you work right now with these people and helping them honestly gives me a sense of relief about the current standing of Magic Knights. So... thank you," she said, politely bowing to the man.[break][break]
After this exchange between the two, Zaven seemed to realized something, bringing up 'Krampus'. The timing couldn't have be more bizarre. She had just finished up dealing with a similar matter when she was in Nairn alongside the White Tiger. Her crimson eyes went wide with surprise as the man used the name. "...I don't know," she admitted. "...I had just come up here from Nairn, and there was a very dangerous situation that took place there involving Krampus' vengeful spirit. The White Tiger of the Ryuutei killed him; I just tried protecting the town. I don't know if this is related to Krampus or not, but his presence was at least present. Of that, I know for certain." she answered.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] After he was done speaking Verena began to speak up, talking to him at first about the situation and the magic knights. A subject she seemed almost obsessive over for the most part before finally admitting that he was hard to read and that it made her a little cautious, but his willingness to stay and help the people was commendable and a refreshing sight to her and he honestly just gave a bit of a blush at the words that Verena was bestowing upon him. He returned the small bow out of mutual respect for the woman before speaking further on the matter. ”The knights allowed me to escape my father’s ill will and spread my wings to soar above the clouds...now I am at the pinnacle of what most people would call ascension...well my father would anyway.” He was very animated in his explanation, hands moving to crescendo with his words until he took a small break. ”Yet there is much internally that the public is unaware of when it comes to strife what we all deal with...Kikka was a brutal awakening as you well know. However, with that revelation that we all came to see during both events there...it has opened the eyes of the entire kingdom...perhaps even the world that we are strong and that the people here are resilient…” Zaven could be seen for once in a positive light, his usual dark yet calm demeanor was pierced as he talked to Verena. [break][break]
As they talked about Krampus and apparently their shared experiences with the cursed one’s existence, Zaven was well aware of the trouble that the creature could cause...and apparently was doing so once again. ”I think that this is a common reoccurrence here in Clover...I have honestly never heard of it affecting any other country since I have been learning economics under my father. We must have honestly pissed off the Yuletide gods and or the pantheon of deities to keep getting this. At the very least the Clover people must be on Santa's naughty list.” He said with a hearty chuckle as the debris was soon finally free from the area and the mages that looked after the city began to take advantage of this and start to fix the area or sell pieces of the cursed pillars, it was honestly fucking savage and was actually comical if looked at from an outside perspective [break][break]
”Is it just me or is it getting colder out here…?” He asked as the breath that could barely be seen before as it was exhaled was now blatantly visible and it was honestly a little worrying that it came upon them so suddenly. Then a twinge of mana surged through the air, causing the hairs on his neck to stand at attention, a soft smirk showed on his face as he wanted to honestly find the gods of this world and ask them what the actual fuck was going on.

Verena was surprised to see the captain blush. Was he not used to praise in some form? He was the Captain of the Golden Dawn. Surely, his subordinates respected him greatly. Cyrus seemed to have a positive opinion of him, at least. The brunette was just being honest. Her opinion of Zaven was not especially high, but it was definitely more positive than negative or indifferent. She assumed the man just struggled at communicating with others, and given that he was from the Caldur branch, it made sense.[break][break]
"...I see. So becoming a Magic Knight gave you more freedom?" she asked.
The woman wondered just what his life was like prior to becoming a Magic Knight. She pondered what it would have been like if becoming a Magic Knight offered him more freedom than just being a noble. She internally shuddered at the thought of how difficult life was for the captain as a child and growing up. She knew very little about the Blakes as a whole, but she knew about the arrangement made between the families.[break][break]
Verena wouldn't have called it 'ascension', but she inferred that the Blake meant power. He was, after all, in quite possibly one of the most influential positions a mage could aspire to be in. Not only was he a Magic Knight Captain, but he was also in charge of the Golden Dawn. Furthermore, he was head of the Blake family as a whole, a feat that could not be easy to decide given the three branches. While not one of the Major Noble Families, the Blakes were still a very influential family in the happenings of Clover. That was precisely why her own father sought to strike a deal with them.[break][break]
Verena nodded as Zaven discussed the flip side of everything that had happened in the city. Sure, they might have failed before. But they had managed to win in the end. Still... Verena wondered to herself. Was that really all it took? Strictly speaking as a civilian herself, she knew deep down that she expected victory the first time. Not to mention, three Captains and Vice-Captains had shown up, and it was by no means an easy fight.[break][break]
The resiliency of the Magic Knights had shown up, but she truly wondered if the strength of the Magic Knights had been displayed to the world. There were always heavy expectations placed upon those within an order like the Magic Knights. Meeting those expectations bought the trust of the people. And without the trust of the people, it would become much more difficult to maintain order in the following days. For now, she just had to have faith that Zaven was correct.[break][break]
"A common reoccurrence," Verena mused aloud, though she was talking to herself rather than the Captain.[break][break]
The brunette tried piecing everything together based on the information given to her between Bengal and the raven-haired man before her. First, she knew that Krampus only appeared around the time of Yule. The second was that he was a vengeful entity. Slowly but surely she began piecing more threads of what she had learned.[break][break]
"...Wraith magic is capable of acquiring bodies, manifesting them as golems. So is it possible for something like... I don't know, a soul to manifest as mana? Is it possible that this Krampus's soul is somehow stuck or trapped in an area filled with mana, like a Grand Mana Zone?" the woman asked, uncertain. "I know it might sound like a stretch, I'm just trying to make sense of it..."[break][break]
Zaven noted that things were getting colder, to which Verena nodded her head in confirmation. She stood up, her grimoire ready as she looked around. What was going on...? She couldn't fathom what was happening; it was cold enough, but this sudden drop in temperature... Snow suddenly began coming down, as a blizzard fell over this town.[break][break]
Her ordinarily brown hair was dyed in the white of the snow as the woman shivvered. Her coat was extraordinarily warm, but it wasn't magically enhanced by any stretch of the imagination. It also did nothing for her face, and the closest thing to protection her ears had was her incredibly long locks of hair. Spending too long like this would be bad.[break][break]
A hearty, yet malicious laughter filled the air, but it was difficult for her to pindown amidst this blizzard. In the distance, she took notice of something occurring. A rumbling sound as a myriad of ... snowmen, just like the ones from before were coming down a hillside. It was like an army in of itself.[break][break]
And... this might have been the blizzard messing with her vision, but behind all the white of the impending army, was that... a reindeer?[break][break]
Verena wasn't sure what was happening anymore. But she did know that the town was under siege, and there were far too many enemies for her to be able to contend with. Zaven was the only one between the two of them who had any real chance at doing anything, but for now all she could do was try to barricade the snowmen from entering any blind sides. She knew she wasn't strong enough to block off all of the entrances; thus, her only real option in the matter was to block off as many ways as she could, so not to get blind sided.[break][break]
"Carbon Magic: Survival Instincts!" she declared as a total of two walls were summoned, blocking off the western entrance, closest to them aside from the northern entrance.[break][break]
This was also her own way of allowing Zaven to be able to focus an attack sorely down the middle to try to take out as many of these snowmen as possible, blocking off what entrances she could.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing her little response about him becoming a magic knight and his freedom made him nod as he confirmed her thought. ”More freedom than you could possibly imagine.” He said as quietly as he breathed that cold air Their little back and forth resulted in a silence as it seemed Verena was trying to wrap her head around it as well, repeating his words about the common recurrence about the being known as Krampus. Finally she began speaking of wraith magic and of souls to which Zaven also began to speculate before finally shaking his head. ”No...I think that perhaps Krampus may exist as a being of mana...since it is neither created nor destroyed...just used, released, and stored...perhaps something more akin to the mana needed to amass a physical form in this realm is what we may be dealing with. However, that golem theory is not bad and I will use it for further study. You are not making a stretch of anything...if it can be questioned, then it should be.” He said before giving a reassuring smile as the earlier events made themselves known and the drop in temperature along with mana density made Verena pull out her grimoire. The sudden blizzard set off Zaven’s intimidating presence a she quickly moved to unhinge the straps that held his grimoire, freeing the tome and allowing it to float up near his right shoulder it opened to a nearly pure black page as Zaven eyed it, feeling the mana emanating from the book he glanced to Verena with an apologetic look before looking up at the army of snowmen. ”Guess there is no choice if I have to become that to hold back further destruction.” He said as he stepped forward, he heard Verena snap into action before he held up his right arm, a bit theatric, but the shadows around the area began to go haywire as the mana began to go crazy. He then saw the visage of a creature...a deer? What in gods fucking cursed name was that damn thing, regardless it was targeting the Garse...it was time that it learned some manners. ”Verena...support the people, and if we can stop this without any further destruction...I will try to.” He said as he felt the mana well up in his grimoire before finally starting to pour out. [break][break]
”Arise...Erebus. Protect this land with your life.” He said as the blizzard seemed to go silent for a moment, the shadows cast over the land began to move erratically before finally the shadow golem. An existence that would be a stain inside of Aries Garse as long as Zaven lived, the 12 foot tall personification of death rose up, it was silent in its movements as the shadows that tried to escape it’s grasp could do nothing but retreat after getting so far away as the shadow golem looked to Zaven, and Zaven back at it sternly. ”Defend the town...not a hair on a person’s head is to be harmed...or you will never know what light is again.” Zaven said as the golem said nothing and sped off like a bullet. The 45 meter per second speed was enough to cause the air to crack as it quickly ran up to the hill. The people looked at the scene with worry, and some that have seen the Shadow of Dawn looked with awe...these people were the first people to witness this golem officially. Zaven then sighed as the toll it took on him to summon the golem made him visibly sweat. ”This...should buy us some time should there need to be an evacuation of some sort.” He said as he walked towards the hill. His grimoire was still glowing an eerie glow, the Shadow of Dawn was walking as if he had no fear.

Verena was caught off guard by that response, especially given the time. It wasn't exactly easy being a Magic Knight, especially after Kikka. There were still those who viewed the Magic Knights in a positive light, but largely they were the topic of much controversy right now. And as a force meant to protect its people, that also meant there was much scrutiny that came with it. Yet Zaven felt free, freer than one who had abandoned all of her familial duty and responsibility? She was impressed, in truth.[break][break]
...Then again, it wasn't as if she truly felt free. There wasn't any real escaping from Renfir for her; she was captive just as much as some other Magic Knights might feel. But there was no way for her to know for sure, and so she wasn't going to ask about the thoughts of some of Zaven's other Golden Dawn members. Surely, they still felt more at ease than other Squad Members, to begin with.[break][break]
The Shadow of the Dawn began to dissect her own theory. She hadn't brought up Wraith magic to explain how Krampus was animated again; instead, she had brought it up as a means to show that the body at large could be broken down into mana. If that was the case, then surely the soul could as well. However, that was an error on her part for not being more specific in her choice of words.[break][break]
Either way, she seemed quite pleased with herself that Zaven seemed to acknowledge her own theory as holding some sort of weight. The brunette liked receiving praise when it came to more academic things than when it came to her own appearance, especially if it was from someone with actual status like Zaven Blake.[break][break]
Verena listened with great interest as Zaven stated his own theory, describing him in a manner akin to a mana beast. Well, it might not have been too far off, Verena felt. It felt ... strange to describe a person as such, but it wasn't wrong either. There was something she felt she had to say, just so it didn't end up being recorded later.[break][break]
"I should have been more precise in my word choice, but I mean ... like, wraith magic breaks the body down into mana; that's how bodies are stored in grimoires, correct? Something might have broken Krampus' soul into mana. An ancient magic lost to time. The White Tiger showed me an ancient magic stored in a relic of his capable of summoning Wraith golems, but they possessed sentience; a soul. He said it was an ancient magic imbued into this relic, of imbuing mana with a soul; perhaps the opposite could be true as well."[break][break]
Of course, this conversation had to be put on pause the moment a literal army showed up at the gates of Aries Garse. They were incredibly weak, of course. Verena could barely sense any magical energy from them despite they were made from mana. She might not have been an astute sensor, but perhaps because of her Summoner mana, she was at least a little bit more in tune with it than others might have been.[break][break]
It was impossibly cold as a result of this blizzard, but Erebus's presence seemed even colder than the frigid temperatures brought upon this frozen hell. After all, it was an Elemental Incarnate of Shadow itself--the very absence of light. Verena was stupified as the apex of Golemancy stood before her. An Elemental Incarnate. This was what she wanted to work for; to work towards.[break][break]
She was completely willing to ignore the unease she felt when Zaven mentioned that he was going to cause some destruction, but she hadn't forgotten what he had told her, insisting that she use her magic to defend the people. There was no point in arguing with that; that was about the only thing she could do, after all.[break][break]
"The only other entrance and exit is near the southwest. That one's beyond my range at the moment," Verena admitted. "That said... I can close off the northern entrance with a wall while your golem is dealing with this."[break][break]
If permitted, the brunette did just that, casting her Carbon spell to pop up in the thirty-eight-meter gap between the entrance and where the two stood, taking advantage of her ability to fire off two of them. Then, taking advantage of her dominant element, the woman also created a new golem.[break][break]
Cloth began weaving itself in a bizarre and unpredictable manner, slowly showing the build of a bird of some sort. However, it... did not have bird feet, nor did it possess a beak. It was half white and black, the split occurring from its chest down just before the legs. Its face was ... clearly sewn on, and it appeared to be human in design, even matching Verena's own skin color. It possessed thin eyebrows in this design, as well as giant blue eyes and bright red lips. It lacked the talons of a bird; instead, it possessed something that looked like human hands, though like with all aspects of this creature, it was just cloth. The only non ... bizarre, perhaps horrifying elements of its design that stayed true to being a bird were the wings.[break][break]
"I'll fly on this to cover that exit, so I can cover a bit more ground, but I don't feel this will end any time soon," Verena began to say. In truth, she just felt it better to try to get a higher vantage point to confirm if she did see a reindeer or not. Of all the things...
Assuming that the Golden Dawn's captain had no issue with this, the brunette got onto her golem, and took off to that exit, before casting another of her defensive walls, summoning a total of two and blocking off the entrance. Because of this, she had hit her general limit of trying to keep things about, but that was okay. This wasn't as strenuous compared to the time she fought the Candy Cane Golem. Even still, it was quite hard on her.[break][break]
She came back to Zaven, waiting for additional orders. It wasn't her place to question one as experienced as he was.

verena's p. tired after using all these spells but she's well enough to keep going. but should probably try figuring out a reason to seek the rudolf, etc etc
Juggernaut: Twice a thread, a player can cause an equally ranked offensive based spell that would normally destroy or injure their defensive spell to be completely negated.
Description: Upon usage, Verena creates a wall that is 2x2x5 (length x width x height) made of pure carbon and as such is akin to a jet black in color. The wall appears as though it's constantly moving around, and this is in part due to [Juggernaut], as it is capable of, with limited usages, of strengthening itself in what would otherwise tear right through, or damage it to render that damage obsolete.[break][break]
In addition, the wall is capable of shooting out a solid "rope" of carbon though reinforced via [Imprisonmont of a God], plus one additional chain for every 30 [CON] she has. These chains function in accordance to clashing rules, and cause strain on a person's ability to regenerate their mana, depleting it by 10 (though if their mana regenerative ability is lower, then it will reduce it by the maximum value without making it 0).[break][break]
If the chains do not manage to catch a person, they are still capable of restraining a person's grimoire via Restraining Magic, and have a 50% reduction on the casting ability of a mage. The construct can withstand up to twice its rank in damage before being completely destroyed.
Element: Cloth[break] Rank: Intermediate[break] Size: Up to 6 meters tall[break] Mana Cost: 20 | 10[break] Type of Golem: Balanced[break] Applicable Perks: Reinforced Golems, Puppet Master[break] Description: Matching the theme of Billy, Verena took inspiration from the horrors of the town right down to the name. Tired of her own inability to fly, as well as seeking the freedom that came with experiencing that sort of rush of mobility in the Dungeon with Bengal, the heiress went to work on crafting a new type of golem, unlike any other she had so far.[break][break]
It possesses an impressive wingspan that's roughly equal in size to its height, and if being used for transportation, then it can carry up to two people; however, its speed is decreased to 10m/s if it is being used in such a manner. In addition, she can make additional Kikka for every 30 [CON] she has, maxing out at a total of 4 additional golems to summon.[break][break]
Though she still believes the human form to be more ideal for the purpose of crafting golems, this looks like a perfectly ordinary bird made from the purest of white cloth. Just... an exceptionally large bird. Without a beak. And talons that are surprisingly ...unsharp. Instead, the feet look more like... human hands, made from the same color that matches the face in terms of the color of cloth. Also, it lacks a beak; instead, it possesses an eerily resemblance to a human face, sewed on with large blue eyes so as to stare seemingly right into a person's soul. The color of the cloth used to replicate the face is very similar to Verena's own skin color.[break][break]
When used for offensive purposes, Kikka's most notable approach to dealing with things involves using its feet(?) to pick up adversaries, then toss them or drop them, depending on how heavy they are. It also possesses a nasty headbutt. Both instances deal intermediate levels of damage.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] When she had to reiterate what she was meaning with her theory he just gave a nod in agreement. He was not doing it as a dismissal, but he was sure in his words, the world of course worked in a mysterious system. He had made himself strong utilizing this system, and he had grown accustomed to helping others use the system as well to get strong. When the battle looked like it was going to start Verena did her best to follow his orders and even went as far as to set up a defensive wall to keep out any other invaders. It was then that a voice rang out among the blizzard...angry, and oppressive. ”NONE OF YOU DESERVE YULE! YOU ROTTEN...PATHETIC EXCUSES FOR HUMANS LONG ENOUGH HAVE MY PEOPLE TOLERATED THIS BLATANT AFFRONT TO OUR SACRED TRADITIONS WHILE YOU SQUANDER...SLANDER...AND SULLY THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! I WILL SEE TO IT YOU ARE ALL PERSONALLY PUNISHED!” The creature spoke a common tongue as a beacon of red glowed where its nose should have been black. The snowmen charged as Zaven just nodded his head. Erebus pushed off towards the advancing snowman horde. [break][break]
Erebus made short work of whatever came its way, long sweeps of its arms proved it did not need to waste magical energy on this fight as its own strength was enough. Zaven turned to Verena and looked at her and saw the deer begin to descend towards their location, the look in his eyes was that he wanted to kill the damned thing before it could cause any harm. Meanwhile Erebus made the side of the hill explode with a great force that created a miniaturized earthquake. ”Verena, I am focused on the creatures...if that deer becomes an issue tell me, try to deal with it.” He gave the order loosely as he growled and even pulled out that axe of his as he made his way towards the snowmen.

The Golden Dawn's captain himself was encouraging Verena to try to go out and deal with the reindeer. It was loud; painfully so. But she would endure with that. It wasn't as though she had any reason to ignore Zaven's order. He was trusting her to deal with this. But unfortunately for Verena, she could not hope to fight against the deer. She only had one option available to her. She was at the absolute maximum of what she could handle when it came to casting and sustaining spells, after all, and her reserves were quite low.[break][break]
Verena flew on Kikka, her golem, over to where she thought she recognized the reindeer; it was easy enough to avoid the snowmen army this way, at least. It took her a little bit to get over to Rudolph, however; it wasn't as if she was flying on one of Vaile's constructs, after all. This paled in every way to that man's transportation methods.[break][break]
When she arrived, she made sure not to drop down immediately beside Rudolph, instead of dropping herself off nearby as she made her way to the red-nosed reindeer who watched with glee as his army was fighting, unaware of the ease in which they were being destroyed as a result of Zaven's own Golem.[break][break]
"...Excu-"[break][break]
"Who goes there!?" the old deer demanded, turning around to spot the brunette.[break][break]
It was clear to Verena that this was a very old reindeer. It was definitely at the upper limit of its life span. It probably couldn't live more than just a few more years at best. At least, that was what she thought but it was clear this was not an ordinary reindeer; the shiny red nose upon its face was proof of that. Not to mention, this deer somehow appeared as muscular as a moose. How terrifying.[break][break]
"...I apologize for interrupting you, but I don't suppose there's any chance you would be willing to stop attacking this town, is there?" the woman asked flatly.[break][break]
Of course, Rudolph burst into laughter as she said this. A reaction she expected. "Why on Earth would I stop this siege after all they've done? Trampling upon his Yule and all it stands for? Con artists, criminals... the worst of the worst tarnish the very purpose of Yule with every second they're falsely celebrating it, twisting its image and warping the original point of the Holiday, to begin with! This has been a long time coming, woman!"[break][break]
Verena frowned. Yes, Aries Garse was not home to truly honorable people. There was little doubt in even a single person's mind about that. Even still...[break][break]
"Yule isn't for just one person, or even for just some people," Verena retorted, before pointing to the chaos being down below. "It's for everyone. Look at what you're doing. What you're causing. What part of this is 'festive'? If you say only certain people deserve to celebrate yule, why should you? You've brought a war to this town purely because you can't condone how they celebrate things. You are trampling upon their decorations, damaging homes, ruining families. What part of that to you embodies the Yule that Clover at large celebrates?"[break][break]
Rudolph was taken aback by Verena's words. To be so bluntly called out in such a manner wasn't exactly what the deer was expecting. But he didn't like it. The deer swiped the snow with his hooves, clearly fuming. There was no mana being detected, but Verena knew that there was no way she could dodge if he was to hit her; she was far too slow, and this deer was far too fast.[break][break]
"...What would that man say if you saw you now...Rudolph?" Verena asked, causing the deer to pause where it was at. Yes, she was familiar with this particular reindeer; everyone was. It was impossible not to recognize him.[break][break]
"...It's time to go home. Celebrate Yule with everyone you care about. There's no need to trample upon others' holidays."[break][break]
The deer still seemed like it was about to attack, before letting out a deep breath. The frigid temperatures showed just how much there was, before the snowmen in the area all vanished, as did the blizzard begin to die down. With a bow, Rudolf left with a thank you, before flying away into the night sky.[break][break]
It was over.[break][break]
Verena returned to Aries Garse on her golem, just to check on Zaven, dismissing all of her spells in the process.[break][break]
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Zaven was in the fray, cutting down the snowmen with his axe as if getting butter for toast. There were no screams of pain, but slowly the snowmen began to slowly diminish their respawning. He did not dare to look away, but Erebus however was going wild. Wide, wild swings from its powerful form quickly overtook many of the snowmen at once, blasting away sections of the hill...turning the place into a cratered mess. Finally though, the cold stopped biting at him, and not just because of his adrenaline...the blizzard soon stopped, and the snowmen melted away or disappeared into simple snowflakes. Zaven was about to be ambushed on all sides by the snowmen but before they could land a hit, they just exploded into fine powder. [break][break]
Zaven turned around in time to see the red nosed reindeer take flight after thanking Verena. Zaven canceled out Erebus as people came out in droves, thanking Varena for her hard work, and the captain of the Golden Dawn just gave a smile before finally reaching out and patting the girl on the head before reaching into his pocket and pulling out an invitation to the Babel tree decorating ceremony. Handing it over to her he would give her a thumbs up and wave before going back to the Inn, the axe was slung over his shoulder like some macho story protagonist. [break][break]
