Verena was in Sosshi with the intent to learn more about curses-- specifically, the curse supposedly imposed upon the town. However, as she traveled around the town, she took notice of the Black Bulls base in the distance. Crimson eyes locked onto it as she reminisced. Charles was a capable mage, much stronger than she herself was. But he was willing to spar with her.[break][break]
Around the same time, there were the two Black Bulls. Rosalia, the Vice-Captain, and Chisana Shengxiao. The former had once done a modeling mission with her, and seemed nice enough even if she possessed a certain... quality... about her that Verena herself didn't quite want to replicate. However, she did respect the woman's confidence not just in her abilities, but just in her own appearance. That was something she wished she could do, too.[break][break]
Chisana, however... in the early chaotic stages of Kikka, Chisana had demonstrated duty and a desire to do the right thing. He demonstrated remorse for his actions. He didn't shove it aside like Zaven did, but as far as she could tell, he also didn't let it weigh him down. Not just that, when it came to golems and how to use them, he was much more knowledgeable.[break][break]
Still, since Kikka, Verena grown strong. She had trained diligently, and her time with Satori so far had helped her grow incredibly. She really felt as though she had come into her own, but she could be so much more. A pause, as she let out a sigh.[break][break]
...She could be more, but her time was running out. "Four more years if the doctor is correct... and that's in a best-case scenario..." she said quietly, her face growing dark as she stared at the ground.[break][break]
In any case, she wanted to learn more about Chisana, his fighting style, and in an ideal case, maybe even his element. That was why she moved over to the Black Bulls base with the intent to try to see if Chisana was around, knocking on the door.[break][break]
She doubted that the Bulls were the type to care for "appointments". She only hoped that Chisana was around.
Verena made sure that she still was wearing her coat over her black dress that covered her full body, her hair fastened in twin tails as she kept her glasses. She doubted Chisana would remember her. She did nothing to stand out, after all. The only thing notable was just how in over her head she was in Kikka. Even still, this attire was just what she had worn then. She didn't care if she was remembered or not, however. It would be preferable if she wasn't.

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena knock-knock-knockin on bb's base [break][break]
Someone was knocking on the door to the Black Bull’s Base. Who would do that? The thought ran threw every member of the Black bulls that could hear the knocking which how the base was set up it rang out through the open halls and the various holes in those same walls that were still being repaired due to various members being overly rowdy. The Captain and Vice Captain had been quite busy since Kikka so they were generally out of pocket more then often so the juniors of the squad were being a bit more difficult then usual though they had learned to settle down when a certain Black Bull strolled through the halls. Chisana had gained quite a reputation recently earning himself the title of The Marked Serpent while most say it as a play on the fact of his family’s heritage and the way its set up Chisana knew that the higher ups had given it to him based also on the deal he had made with the daemonness Lilitu. His life for the safety of the others of the group, it was worth it and was still worth it but now he was officially on probation on picking up any position of influence beyond the standard rankings of the Magic Knights. [break][break]
This simply pushed his overall goal of being the Captain of the Black bulls back by a few years but it was something he wouldn’t take back. Now he was unofficially the enforcer of the squad while Malcolm and Rosalia were out doing whatever it is they do. Chisana was wearing his standard get up which had become a staple of his appearance of a three piece suit missing the jacket, with his Black bull mantle drapt over top of it all and with his gauntlets that hung from his belt that he only put on for serious issues or fights now. He had greatly trained himself since Kikka though he still felt he had focused to much on his physical attributes and neglected his magic training. He could sense the person on the other side of the door and it felt familiar but not from someone that he was close too, they were slightly stronger then himself at the moment and that annoyed Chisana. [break][break]
Opening the door Chisana greeted the person before looking to see who it was, “Welcome to the Black Bulls, I am Chisana Shengxiao,” Chisana said smoothly and without hesitation like servant answering the door to a noble’s mansion he looked at the visitor and recognized the individual, It was Verena Reinsberg the summoner mage that had been part of his group for the mission to take back Kikka. While their contributions were small the use of the platinum magic that allowed them to summon various golems of various elements was something that had piqued Chisana’s interest and had caused him to read what was available for the magic as he was always out to learn more about the “Legendary” magic. “Ah Ms. Reinsberg, Are you perhaps looking for Charles or maybe Vice-Captain Rosalia?” Chisana continued without waiting for the other to answer. “The Vice-Captain is out of hand at the moment and I haven’t seen Charles in quite some time, last I heard he headed out for some training and has yet to return.”

Verena politely curtseyed when Chisana was the one to answer the door. She knew that the Black Bulls did likely not care for such a thing, but she however did. Image was everything. Though one could argue that the Bulls at large were damaging for one's own image, a number of them had demonstrated valor that most hadn't. Three members of their own squad had been involved in the Kikka reclamation effort, more than any other squad as far as she knew. Anyone who would disrespect their valor were fools who did not know what it was to be a Magic Knight in her eyes.[break][break]
Not just that, it was Chisana who demonstrated the most sympathy. More than Ardere, more than Zaven. And even more than herself in her eyes. He did his job. And to that end, he had her respect, what little that mattered. Chisana greeted her with a question of his own, but more surprising were his manners. Then again, he was a member of the Shengxiao family, one of the minor noble families such as her own. Given his question, he must have thought she was here to talk about something important. In her eyes, it wasn't at least.[break][break]
With her head tilted, hair falling a bit to her side, she blinked a bit. "Hm? Oh, no. I actually wished to speak to you. If it's not too much trouble, at least," she said. "...Though, ideally, I would like to do so outside. Mostly, because I simply wished to ask to train with you. You've far more combat experience than I do, and your use of golems in Kikka was much better than my own."[break][break]
She wasn't aware of the slight gaps in their strengths, but even if she was aware, she would not care. She still viewed Chisana as the stronger of the two. After all, why wouldn't she? He was a Magic Knight, and he a civilian. Even if magically she had a bit more going for her, he was still a Magic Knight. He most likely had far more combat experience than her. What little experience she had was simply spent following others.[break][break]
"Though, if Charles is here, I wouldn't mind training with him. Our own training prior to Kikka was unfortunately cut short. I do quite wish to learn his Silver magic. The properties it possessed were fascinating. Defense, offense, utility. It would be much better than what I currently have element-wise. I need to expand on my elements so that I may become stronger. I'm here in Sosshi for an unrelated task, but I'll be staying here for a while anyway, as I'm currently studying the town's supposed curse."[break][break]
Verena cleared her throat. "But I'm more interested in the Pure Aura magic right now. Its properties are just as versatile from what I remember seeing, and then some. It's simply the concentrated mana of the user, given form for the variety of purposes that one may need, correct? I find that just as fascinating. Of course, if you would rather not, I understand. I suppose I've said more than I usually say anyway..."[break][break]
The truth was, talking about magic got the woman incredibly excited. The possibilities of what she could do with it always caused her head to spiral under the maelstrom of possibilities. She was always thinking of what she could do with golems, and that aspect always fascinated her. She even tried to contain herself, but...[break][break]
The brunette sighed softly. How frustrating. She needed to conduct herself in a more lady-like manner.

[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena knock-knock-knockin on bb's base [break][break]
Chisana studied the young woman in front of him. She presented the typical behavior of a noble woman and kept her “image” in mind with ever action. He could tell simply by how she had actually curtsied to the Black bull, no one that came here would ever do such a thing unless they cared about their image whatever that was. It was a bit of information that Chisana filed away inside his mental folder that he built for anyone that he interacted with. Now that he was closer to the young woman he studied her in more detail, She was frail someone that seemed nervous he wasn’t sure if that was due to being a woman by herself in front of the “infamous” Black Bull base but he denied that train of thought due to both her seeking out himself and being familiar with both Rosalia and Charles. So there was something else that was making her nervous and it was something he would have to figure out at another time but was stored away like everything else. She spoke about seeking him out to talk about something or more specifically to ask for something, to train her in his own magic like Charles had started to do previously before the Kikka Event. [break][break]
Verena had started to go into a slight ramble about the usage and versatility of Silver as a element an magic and Chisana instantly noted that her whole demeanor had changed from the nervous, unsure “noble lady” to the same energy as a scholar that spoke of their most prized subject. This brought a slight smirk to Chisana’s face, he had great experience with those of this nature thinking to the various individuals that he had spent many a hour with discussing topics pertaining to a wide range of subjects. Hania, Lydia, Rosalia and even Malcolm just to name a few. Chisana himself enjoyed learning about anything in great detail but he was much better at containing his “desire” then the average person. This was one of those situations, “You wish to train with me? Pure Aura certainly has its usage like Silver does it is greatly versatile. Support, Offense, Defense and anything that mixes the techniques.” Chisana agreed with Verena. “I do not mind discussing my element as long as you share your own while we do so. I quite enjoy learning as much as I can about those legendary “Platinum” magics that those chosen by magic itself seem to possess.” Chisana easily mentioned as he agreed to teaching and exchanging notes with Verena. “Though I wonder how would you like to learn from me?” Chisana pondered, he wasn’t completely sure how someone with Verena’s type of magic actually learned other elements but he knew that they did in fact learn from others to use that elements for their golems. It was fascinating to say the least. A single individual able to seemingly learn any type of magic that was in the world without any real limit. [break][break]
“There is a training ground just around the corner if you wish to follow me there.” Chisana stated as he gestured towards the area making sure to keep pace with Verena as needed to keep her from feeling pressured or unwanted. He offered the demeanor of a scholar and friend to the young woman.

Verena could tell that Chisana was trying to get a read on her. Truthfully, the same applied; she was trying to get a read on him. What was a member of a Noble Family who demonstrated compassion and morality more than any other in Kikka, one who used Golem magic to try to protect others and who mourned the lives of the innocent people he had taken in the Black Bulls? Both Charles and this man seemed exceptionally considerate of those around them and didn't seem to go around causing problems for others. If anything, there were more like the ideal Magic Knights that she wished others would be.[break][break]
...so what was the catch?[break][break]
Chisana explained the applications of pure aura, confirming what she had studied about it. As it was raw, concentrated mana that could be made dense, it could be used for offense or defense. It could be used to trigger illusions, to hide oneself, and so much more. Thinking on it logically, its applications actually surpassed Silver magic, though that didn't make the latter any less useful. She still wanted it, all the same.[break][break]
Chisana mentioned that he had no problem training with her, nor did he have an issue teaching her. However, he did add that she wanted her to talk about her own element. Ordinarily, Verena would be gushing about her own magic, but with a slow nod, she realized just where Chisana's 'bizarre' behavior might have come from. Even still, this method of going about it was... it was too normal. He was much more reserved about it than she thought he would be. Why was this man a bull and that Krieg fellow an Azure Deer? Surely, he would have qualified in any other squad. She doubted that he voluntarily became a Bull...[break][break]
The usual question that Verena encountered. People were not used to actually having to 'teach' or 'train' another in how to use their element. For all intents and purposes, her magic was an irregularity, but that was what made her love it that much more, even if the four-leaf grimoire she had received had brought her misfortune. The element itself brought her salvation.
"Truthfully, there are any number of ways I can learn the magic. I'm quite attuned to more sensitive intricacies of mana; I assume this is because of my magic in general. So I'm able to pick up characteristics of a person's mana beyond just being able to know it's there. Fire mana, for example, can have characteristics that we as people would likely define as confident and passionate, but it also gives the sensation of protection and loyalty. Of course, it's dependent entirely on the person in general. The sensation of mana is a reflection of how the user uses their magic."[break][break]
"A Summoner needs to 'befriend' the others' magic if we want to use it. I know that might sound silly, but as I'm sure you're aware, mana in itself is quite whimsical. The grimoire ceremony is proof of that."[break][break]
Verena spoke on all of this as she followed Chisana to the training grounds. It was clear from her expression that she greatly enjoyed the topic at large, but still felt awkward for talking this much. Clearing her throat, she added. "Uhm... I guess a shortened version is 'I can just watch how you use your magic, and I can figure it out from there'."[break][break]
why did she get like this every time...

COMBAT SUMMARY
[break]
[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena can't shut up when talking about magic, let alone her own. s m h [break][break]
Chisana was enjoying himself, there was something fun about being studied by another person. He didn’t quite present himself as a typical Black Bull to most individuals. He was polite, rational and well-spoken. He didn’t have the typical “quirkiness” that most of the other Black Bull’s had, his own weird trait was something he was quite good at hiding and only those closest to him rarely got a glimpse. Chisana was actually sure that the only reason why he had been originally accepted into the squad was simply because he was a, at the time a 15 year old mage that had freshly gain their grimoire but was more then willing and brave enough to challenge Malcolm in a one on one fist fight. Chisana highly doubted that Malcolm had sensed anything other then his reckless tendency on that day. Now that had years had past since he had joined the Black Bulls Chisana still wasn’t sure if Malcolm knew about his own quirkiness and if Malcolm did he had never shown a glimmer of approaching the subject and neither had any of his other close acquaintances besides possibly Hania Ravencrest. That was someone that knew how to study a person as well as if not better then Chisana did.[break][break]
Chisana knew himself quite well, He knew that he had a strange obsession with those of great power or big personalities. He studied things for hours upon hours until he was sure he knew as much as he possibly could and even then most of the time he desired to know even more about whatever had caught his fancy. When he was a child he struggled with these “tendencies” due to not knowing how to properly manage them or having a true outlet for his obsessions but since joining the Black Bulls he had more then enough “interests” to keep his mind busy and occupied. Chisana also had plenty of these powerful people around to keep his own actions within check, so he gladly studied those of power or influence as deeply and easily as he could. He kept his questioning to common things and worked any information network to find out any other information that had been hidden. Inside the young mage’s mind was a mental file on every obsession that was filled constantly with new information and knowledge.[break][break]
While Verena continued her slight ramble on how a Summoner’s magic worked Chisana was already updating and cross checking the information that he had been able to gain from the various tomes on the magic itself. “Befriending the magic. I see, Summoner’s work similarly as someone would with a spirit then.” Chisana mentioned as he noticed that those with the ability to befriend things that dealt with mana as easy as breathing tended to join hands with the thing rather then trying to bend it to their will. It was a simple distinction but it would help Chisana if he were to ever stumble upon a spirit or otherwise. “Hmm, so to you every element has their own characteristics and I’m guessing that those same traits are found in the users themselves.” Nodding his head Chisana agreed with Verena on her observation on how the grimoire ceremony went. “It seems like a discussion on more then simply your magic would be a beneficial occurrence.” [break][break]
They had arrived at the training grounds, normally they would be able to see the Captain out here training but due to Malcolm being out of pocket at the moment the grounds were decently empty with only a small handful of other mages that seemed to be goofing off more then actually training. It wasn’t surprising to Chisana that people were being lazy while the leadership was gone but he didn’t need to have others seeing it so out in the open. “Oi, Either train right or Go be helpful somewhere.” Chisana yelled, his voiced carried easily across the grounds and with it a sense of command went with it. The other mages froze for a moment more shocked then anything and upon realizing who had the balls to yell at a group of Black Bulls they quickly scurried away. “I apologize for their behavior, with the cats away the mice shall play.” Chisana mentioned to Verena, he still remember how those very mages had been his senior upon his arrival and yet they hadn’t grown or improved since then.[break][break]
“Now then, How shall we go about this? I can use my magic in anyway you want but I remember you using golems while in Kikka so I could summon my golems and you could inspect them as needed if you wish or we could even engage in a friendly spar if that is more your speed.” Chisana said with a pondering look. He was intrigued to hear that Verena and Charles had been sparing and training previously and Chisana was always game for a new sparring partner especially when the other mage used the same kind of spells that he did. Verena was unaware of Chisana's own amusement with her own study of the Bull. She was usually pretty discreet about it, but Chisana was someone wise in the ways, even if he was younger than her. However, it was because of that age gap that she had no idea that he was doing the same, let alone that he found the idea something to enjoy. For Verena, the action was something instinctive. A method of who to trust and who not to. She wasn't even aware she did it sometimes.[break][break]
When she had managed to finish her rant, Chisana spoke up. Comparing it to how one would obtain a Spirit of a sort. This caused Verena's mind to run rampant, trying to mull it over. She didn't know much of Spirits. She had studied them, of course. Especially after meeting Cyrus and Hama. But at the same time, there wasn't too much to go off. That was knowledge that simply wasn't too common to come by, but that was fine. If she wanted more details, she could always ask Cyrus the next time the chance was made available to her.[break][break]
The two arrived at the training grounds not long after Chisana's comparison. The grounds were simple -- no need to be fancy, which was fine. She took notice of a few Black Bulls who simply idled about. She thought that curious, in truth. Where was the Captain? Rosalia? Threats like Kikka, Raque, and the Royal Capital had occurred out of nowhere, and it was very possible that such threats could spring up out of nowhere. Magic Knights owed not just to the citizens they were under oath to protect, but also to themselves so that they could improve their chances of survival.[break][break]
Before she could get a word in, Chisana made sure that these Bulls made sure to get back to work. He wasn't going to let them slack, or at the very least not in front of a visitor -- though she very much doubted her presence had anything to do with it. Most likely he would have said something even if she wasn't here, just as long as he was aware of it.[break][break]
Chisana apologized about the behavior of the Bulls, surprising her a bit. Perhaps her presence here did have something to do with his behavior then, after all. But whether it did or not wasn't really a point for her to ask about. Instead, she simply lightly waved her hands dismissively. "Nono, it's fine. I imagine things are quite tense and stressful anyway. But training is never a bad idea for a Magic Knight." However...[break][break]
"It's quite humbling that you would say that," Verena said. "But I do feel there's a small difference, which ultimately makes a world of difference. Spirits are sapient; they're fully aware of what's going on. Mana might have a limited amount of sentience, but it's quite limited. It simply follows what it feels it should. And Spirits are basically mana that has effectively reached a higher plane unto themselves. Though the singular Spirit I have met would likely not take offense to that comparison, I worry that I may offend a spirit if I was to think that true. It would be like saying a Junior level mage is the strongest within his class. Though it may be true, it hardly matters if one were to compare him to one of the stronger Magic Knights within that same squad in most cases."[break][break]
Case in point, the scene before them to use to prove her point. No matter how strong they were, they likely could not compare to Chisana. It wasn't as if they weren't 'strong' or 'capable'. They just weren't strong enough. And similarly to Summoner magic versus acquiring a spirit, befriending mana didn't require any real communication. Just a willingness to accept it for what it was. It was fickle but very simple. It was why she could acquire so many different types of magic. Befriending it was a superficial thing at the end of the day. One could even fake it, but it would be unable to tell the difference.[break][break]
"Besides, my magic can resonate with mana. Effectively turning it into a brightly lit neon sign as if saying 'welcome'. It's why Summoner magic couldn't be taught, even if one was able to pick up on those ever so faint details of mana." she added.[break][break]
Chisana offered her a choice, causing Verena to need to think about it. Indeed, she would have preferred to simply use this chance to simply inspect his golems. She imagined he had acquired several more to his grimoire after all, and that prospect was curious to her. However, it wasn't exactly that simple for her, unfortunately...[break][break]
"...The Magic Knight exams are coming up in a few months I believe. Perhaps even shorter than that. Ideally, I would like to be as prepared as possible for that. I dislike fighting, and I'm not very good at sparring if I'm to be completely honest... but that's precisely why it might be for the best. I'll have to get over it at some point, after all."

COMBAT SUMMARY
[break]
[attr="class","verenaver2scroll2"] TL;DR verena can't shut up when talking about magic, let alone her own. s m h [break][break]
Chisana never liked showing anyone the unslightly side of the squad even if people were to expect it. There was being quirky and unruly but getting the task done and completed and then there was being lazy and worthless. Chisana greatly disliked the latter more then anything, it was the main reason why so many people thought so lowly of their squad. Society had a tendency to accept people for their faults easily if they were more beneficial then harmful and while most of the squad preformed quite well in any task there was to many of those that were simply just above being thugs with magic and that had been what truly etched into people’s minds throughout the years. It was why so many people couldn’t see Chisana as a Black Bull if he didn’t mention it or wear the mantle, he simply didn’t outwardly fit that mold they had come to expect. It was perfectly fine he would continue to keep his image as needed and he might even become a refreshing sight for those who could only see the worst in the squad if he was able to continue with his climb up the ranks.[break][break]
Getting back to the topic at hand though Chisana focused more fully on what Verena was discussing. She simply waved away his apology for his fellow squad mates and he gratefully accepted it, it would seem that she at least didn’t care to much about the slacking of knights. Had it been Lydia he would have been admonished or made to make sure those members were properly taken care of, it was certainly strange what his role in the squad had become over the years. Chisana listened closely as Verena described the difference in dealing with spirits and the elements, basically elements were simply simple minded things that could be befriended on a base level while Spirits would be talking to something with high intelligence and would need to be interacted with as if you were actually talking to another person and not some thing to be used. It would explain why Chisana’s interactions with two different spirit users showed them treating their spirits like companions rather then a tool to be used. It brought some extra light to how different spirits and elements of mana truly were. Though that did make him wonder how close the top tier golems were then they were said to have their own thoughts and motives while summoned, did that mean they were that fine line between interaction with an element like summoners dealt with and the higher and free level of a spirit? That was something Chisana would need to research in his spare time but it was a tid bit of information that he was quite interested in learning more about.[break][break]
Chisana didn’t show his surprise at Verena’s choice of an actual spar but it was something that he was much more interesting in doing overall. Chisana greatly excelled in actual combat and while he wouldn’t mind simply summoning his golems and allowing another to inspect them, it simply wouldn’t be all that fun for the Shengxiao. “Sometimes I wish I had waited to take part in the Magic Knight Exams instead of fighting the captain for a spot on the squad,” Chisana mentioned in passing. “But, nonetheless what could you expect from a 15 year old boy.” He said while shrugging as if that bit of information was something that naturally happened all over the place. A brand new mage of such young age challenging one of the top mages in combat especially Captain Malcolm a Known Beast Aura mage, a magic that was known to greatly enchance any physical ability of the user.[break][break]
“I’m always for people improving themselves in the areas they are lacking. Very well, I will take my spot over there on that side of the field.” Chisana pointed at the spot that was about 50 meters away from where they were currently. “You can stay here and once I’m there, you can signal the start of the fight. I do hope you don’t mind me using my gauntlets and chestpiece. I can go without them if that would be better for you just let me know.” Chisana mentioned as he made his way to the designated spot, if Verena said it was fine he would don his gauntlets and he was already wearing his chest piece as he never went anywhere without it and if she was against it he would shed them easily having to remove his shirt to take off the chestpiece as needed. TL;DR Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Verena knew that everyone, Magic Knight or not, needed a break every now and then. She was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they had been working hard before she had shown up here. Based on Chisana's reaction, however, that was most likely not the case. Even still, it wasn't her place to admonish them for a lack of activity. They knew the threats that were upcoming and clearly were either confident in their skills or willfully ignorant of the fact that it would inevitably involve them in some form, with or without their own readiness. That was how the attacks in the Royal Capital, Raque, and Kikka all happened, after all. There was no warning. It simply happened.[break][break]
Verena noticed that Chisana seemed to quite the listener -- he wasn't just listening to her speak, she could tell that the Black Bull was absorbing every word she said as though a sponge in water. It was the same type of attention she gave when listening to new information being given to her. Interesting. Was he a scholar type like herself and Satori then, or? She truthfully wasn't sure what to think. Chisana was someone she barely knew so trying to make these assessments of the young man was an incredibly difficult task still.[break][break]
"If I may be so rude as guess to what you may be thinking, I assume you're thinking of the theoretical golem type known as Elemental Incarnates and how they would differ from Spirits. I have only ever seen one, so I can't speak with complete certainty on this topic; however, they possess sentience that acts in accordance to the user's will. A person's mana may take properties in accordance with the user. To that end, these golems will know what the user would want to do without needing to be told. That's my own personal theory, at least. I haven't been able to confirm that much. But I wouldn't state this with such confidence if I didn't have reason to believe it."[break][break]
No doubt Chisana was familiar with Elemental Incarnates in some form if that was the case then. Likely he was trying to figure out what separated Spirits from such golems. It was also just as possible that he did figure it out, and if he did indicate at any point that he seemed familiar or knew what she was saying, she would silence herself. Up until her time with Zaven Blake, she thought of them as mere theoretical types of golems that existed only in books of 'what could be possible. But she had definitely borne witness to such a golem during the strange assault on Aries Garse.[break][break]
Yes, nobody loved golems more than Verena. She studied and studied and studied more than anyone on the topic. The fact she was even here right now before Chisana was only the result of her ability to use golems. She would have long since perished otherwise. But by no means was she an expert on the topic. The heiress knew she had much to learn, and much to grow. And without having more elements at her disposal, she knew that she would be thoroughly lacking in the knowledge that she sought after.[break][break]
Verena was a bit uncomfortable when she mentioned the idea of sparring, and that was only further incentivized when the Black Bull admitted that at fifteen years old he wanted to fight the Captain of the Black Bulls before even taking the Magic Knight exam. She supposed that he had grown out of that phase with how he acted now.[break][break]
...she hoped he had, otherwise this would probably be quite painful for her.[break][break]
Pointing to a spot some fifty meters away, Chisana motioned that they should get some distance between them both if they were to actually get a spar. Given that they were both mid-to-long range combatants, that was likely for the best. Of the two, Chisana was far more mobile so he volunteered to move to that location. "Not at all." Verena said as she raised her right hand revealing a strange marking of some sort akin to a compass. "Whether or not I would want to, I have this with me as well. It's not something that would so easily go away, after all."
"We'll continue the spar until one of us runs out of mana or until we both feel that I've demonstrated a sufficient understanding of how to utilize Pure Aura. Given that I'm mostly seeking to learn your magic, I'd feel it best that we don't directly attack one another. Less you have Healing Magic, it would be unwise without such magic nearby. Just in case. Does that sound agreeable?" she asked before Chisana went away.
