Taiyō walked through the streets of Kikka slowly. To say that he was pumped would be an understatement but he had to keep himself composed since he was not only representing The Crimson Lion Kings Magic Squad but he was a member of House Vermillion and people looked up to nobles. He couldn’t sully the name of his family or squad. He looked out at the distance, seeing the Colosseum; the place where people go to take the Magic Knights Entrance Exam. He was fortunate enough to be brought into the Crimson Lions without taking the exam due to relationship but he still wondered what it would have been like taking the exam.
As he walked, he remembered how he got the mission in the first place. He had been really anxious to go out on a mission since he got his Crimson Lion mantle and out of excitement, he begged to be given a job.
A Few Hours Prior Taiyō sat in the base of his magic knight squad, waiting to explode. He was bored and he wanted to go out and adventure. His cousin, Leonard Vermillion, had told him years prior that if he wanted to adventure without anyone on his back, he should be a magic knight. Well, it was that time. He was a magic knight and so, he would be ready to go out on an adventure. An idea struck him. He could just request a job and that could let him do his duty and adventure at the same time.
He jumped to his feet and rushed over to his Vice Captain, Lydia Ravencrest. ”Vice Captain Lydia, do you have a job that I could do? I'm bored and I don't know where the captain is." He had his hands clasped and his eyes were wide open.
In a very neutral tone, she looked at him and said, “there is a mission board just look there”
He nodded. “Thank you, ma’am. Sorry to waste your time.” He darted off to the mission board and started browsing. He didn’t want just any mission, he wanted one that would allow him to do a little sightseeing, even if he had been to that place before. He was a person that would see new things in places he had been many times. He became happy when his eyes landed on a patrol mission in Kikka. He quickly took it and decided he would head out to Kikka. He thought it would be best to let his mother and father know that he was working hard before he took off for Kikka.
Taiyō called for one of the spacial mages at the Crimson Lions base and asked them to transport him to his home, House Vermillion Estate. Once he arrived, he walked over to his home and entered. “Mom, Dad, I’m back. I came by to tell you guys that I got my mantle and I’m about to go on my first mission and I’m doing it by myself.” He smiled as his eyes met his father’s. He could see the pride in his father’s eyes.
“Good job, son.” His father, Sir Igneus Vermillion, smiled. He was proud of his son and that was what Taiyō wanted. He, Taiyō, wanted his father to look at him with pride. “I’m proud of you. Now go out there and represent House Vermillion!”
”You got it! I will bring honor to our name. Anyway, I’m off!” Taiyō darted off, heading to the spacial mage of House Vermillion that usually transported him wherever he needed to go. "LUCIA, I NEED YOU TO TRANSPORT ME SOMEWHERE!"
"There is no need to yell, Sir Taiyō. I am here to transport you." She smiled at the young mage like she always did. "Where to?"

Present Time Taiyō smiled as he was greeted from the common folk in the area. He was accustomed to being greeted as he was recognized as the son of Sir Igneus Vermillion. He wondered if Leo got the same treatment. It wouldn’t be too far fetched of an idea since they were the sons of two brothers. High nobles, highly respected. Taiyō didn’t mind the respect but there was a stigma about being nobles that sat with some people. The lone fact that some nobles were snobs and treated anyone who wasn’t of noble blood badly always got to him. He hated it! It was dishonorable and it sullied the name of the nobles. He would never forget the lessons his father taught him about everyone should be given equal opportunity to prove their true character whether they were noble, commoner, orphan or what. He made sure to treat everyone around him with respect to show them he was different as he was an honorable noble.
He walked past a few members of the Purple Orcas Magic Knight Squad and waved at them. It wasn’t much of a surprise that he saw them. He was walking through the town where their headquarters was based. He may be from a different Magic Knight Squad but they were all Magic Knights. This was the respect he wished everyone had for each other. Of course, that was just a dream but he would make sure to make the difference in himself and try to spread it like a fire.
When he made it to the marketplace, he grinned and walked over to a food stall as he was getting pretty hungry. He smiled and pulled out some Yul to spend. ”This smells really good!” Before he could make the transaction, he heard a scream coming from one of the stalls adjacent to where he was standing. On instinct, he turned to the direction of the scream and darted to it. When the source of the scream came into view, he saw a man on the floor and a group of bandits running off.
“Please! Help me. They’re stealing my goods.”
Taiyō nodded. “Don’t worry! I’ll handle this!” He bolted in the same direction the bandits were running. He was already catching up to them which told him that he was faster than they were. It was probably due to his training growing up. ”As a Magic Knight, I order you to stop and return what you stole or else I will be forced to make you!”
One of the bandits stopped running and turned to face Taiyō on his own while the other three made their escape. “You’re only one magic knight.” He laughed as he took out his grimoire. It was a standard 3 leaf clover grimoire and from the looks of it, he was a water mage. “And you look like House Vermillion which means you’re at a disadvantage.”

Taiyō dashed towards the water bandit mage, not slowing down. “You’re in my way!” His grimoire rose and opened, turning to a page which started glowing. “Solar Magic: Solaris Fist!” As Taiyō kept moving forward, he moved his right arm back in preparation to throw a punch. As he did this, his mana began to cloak his fist which glowed and glimmered. Before the water bandit could react, Taiyō plunged his Mana cloaked fist into his enemy. The attack knocked the water mage back 7 meters and as it was a direct hit, which caused him to suffer 1st degree burns on the right side of his rib cage where he took the hit. The clothing around the point of impact was burnt away completely.
Taiyō stopped running after watching the water bandit soar through the air. “Now it’s time to finish you off! Solar Magic: Solaris Illumination!” Bright solar light appeared behind Taiyō and started to surround him. He held out his hands towards the water mage as golden orbs of light started forming. As the light orbs grew brighter, the light surrounding him attenuated until it dissipated into nothing. “Now, EAT THIS!” He fired a concentrated blast of solar light towards the water bandit who was now getting back on his feet. As the blast pierced the sky, heat started generating around it and around Taiyō. The light shone bright, twinkling like stars in the night sky. The blast directly hit the mage as he didn’t have any time to react which in turn caused 2nd degree burns over the point of impact which was his chest. “That’s what you get for stealing.” He started running off again, trying to catch up to the other 3 mages. As he passed the water mage, he gave a remark. “Never underestimate House Vermillion just because you have a little bit of water.”
While running, the earth bandit turned to face Taiyō creating earth golems. “Earth Creation Magic: Golem Defender!” A brown rocky looking golem rose from the ground of the marketplace and stood between Taiyō and the earth bandit.
Taiyō moved and maneuvered past the golem, propelling himself forward, physically punching the mage followed by another punch. “Too Slow!”
The mage staggered back and in an outrage he charged at Taiyō in an attempt to punch him.
Seeing the attack coming, Taiyō ducked and uppercutted him, following that up with a roundhouse kick. “Two down, two to go!” He took off again, as the Golem behind him fell apart. Judging by the two he faced, Taiyō saw a slight pattern in their magical elements. If his calculations were right, he would either be going up again fire or wind next. Either way, he was all fired up to win. Stealing was wrong and he needed to get back the items stolen to the merchant. He couldn’t call himself a true Magic Knight if he couldn’t do this simple task. He had caught up to the duo of bandits once more and was ready to give them a taste of his solar magic.

Taiyō prepared himself to face the last two bandits, thinking of ways to take them down quickly. “Stop running, it won’t serve you no good!” He was getting really annoyed with all the chasing. He launched himself forward, lunging at the bandit on the left. As he got into melee range, the fire bandit kicked him in the chest, causing him to fall and hit the pavement hard. “Ow!” He got up and dusted himself off before scowling at the duo. “Now, you probably shouldn’t have done that.” Taiyō got into a fighting stance and started generating heat off him. The heat started to take the form of a golden visible spiking mana skin. ”Solar Magic: Solaris Reinforcement!” Rays of sunlight looked like it was emanating off of him. As he started running after the fire mage, he physically prepared to knock him out.
“Fire Magic: Flame Stream!” The fire mage turned and shot out a beam of fire at Taiyō.
Anticipating that something like this was going to happen, Taiyō easily evaded the attack and lunged at the bandit. “You won’t get in my way!” He put all of his strength into his fists as he got into melee range. Trying to repel Taiyō, the fire bandit punched at him however Taiyō shifted his body slightly by pivoting on his right foot. When he recentered, he threw a left hook followed by a devastating right jab into the chest of the fire mage, dealing Intermediate damage. “And that leaves one!” He was getting tired but he had to keep going. He couldn’t go back to the Crimson Lion Headquarters with such a result. How could he? He couldn’t afford to fail his first mission. He would never let his actions bring shame to the Crimson Lions nor The Vermillion name, He couldn’t. “Time to give up or else I’ll make you regret it.” The aura around him disappeared as the wind bandit stopped running and turned towards him.
“You’re tired. All I gotta do is finish you off and then I can make my sweet escape!” She smiled at him. “You wouldn’t hurt a girl now would you?” She wanted to taunt him and make him lose focus. “It wouldn’t be very fitting for a man to hurt a lady now, would it? Just think about what people may say about that. And to make matters worse, you’re a noble. It would bring shame and disgrace to your family.”
”Shut Up!” He lunged at her and uppercutted her which he followed with a roundhouse kick. ”Don’t you dare bring my family or my status into this! You’re a criminal who needs to be brought to justice and if I let you roam free, I would be betraying my honor as a Magic Knight!” He charged at her one last time as his grimoire opened up and turned to a page it had been on earlier in the fight against the bandits. It glowed as he called out the name of the spell. ”Solar Magic: Solaris Fist! A mana cloak formed over his fists once more as he went in for his final attack. ”THIS IS WHAT YOU GET FOR STEALING!” He ended up punching her into a wall where she fell unconscious.
After he caught his breath, he rounded up the unconscious bandits and recovered the stolen items. ”I better get these back to the merchant. I guess after that I could return to Headquarters. I’m exhausted.” Upon returning the items, he smiled at the merchant. ”There you are, sir.”
”You have my thanks, Magic Knight!”
”You’re welcome. I couldn’t just sit by and do nothing. Have a good day and be careful.” Taiyō waved at the man and departed Kikka, making his way back to the squad. He had already thought up what he was going to do after he got back. He had to tell Leo, of course! He had defeated 4 bandits and completed a patrol. His first mission was a success.
