The Shadow of Dawn...a dark and mysterious figure to some, and a beacon of hope for others...he was out near Hage to deliver a letter of recommendation to one Valo Stark, a young man whom he has had his eye on for some time...the reason for that eye is of no coincidence for they share a similar bond through another member of the Golden Dawn...However the captain was not mad, but he offered to deliver the message himself considering it was an invitation to his own team. He wanted to meet this person for himself and figure out the answer to his current question...why? Then there was also an issue he had recently discovered...after Hinota went out for a dungeon, her brother was also a part of the team subjugating the dungeon...yet she had not returned, and the others have. He hoped that this man would have the answers he was seeking as his spies...had not. [break][break]
Arriving at the Green Mantis headquarters the Golden Dawn captain looked sorely out of place, yet at the same time...the sore thumb also looked to be fitting right in. He was treated with respect, but he was also talked about like he was some nobleman that did not know the plight of the commoner. Zaven would just smile as he waited near the gate of the Green Mantis headquarters and then he would just call out in a booming voice that seemed to whip the people around into a frenzied action to snap to attention. ”VALO STARK! PLEASE COME TO THE GATES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...I AM HERE TO EXTEND AN INVITATION.” He was laid back in how he worded it, he did not want to command these people, but apparently the sight of one of the kingdoms strongest at least carried its own strength. They talking stopped and the air was thick with tension and apprehension. Zaven had released an intimidating aura without realizing it, perhaps it was due to the nature of the Green Mantis members, or because he was on edge, but he continued to wait, the Shadow spirit Hraban would show up and sat on his shoulder and took a look at his master. He could read his thoughts and for a while now he has been clouded, and his mind was wandering...searching...

It had been a few days since Hinota had come by and made her usual visits to the Green Mantis base. There last outing together didn't end so well, since it took place in a dungeon and at the end of that dungeon Hinota ended up leaving in tears. Valo was meditating on top of one of the roofs of the base, trying to collect his thoughts and ease his mind. He was also trying to understand what truly made Hinota so upset in the dungeon. The two were pretty opposite, she was a peaceful pacifist and of royal blood. He was a competitive commoner who lived for a good fight. But Valo was never of the mindset that he couldn't understand or sympathize with someone at least to a degree.
The other thing on his mind was the Royal Knight Exams. The Royal Knights were the elite squad members chosen throughout all the squads to defend the kingdom from it's most dangerous threats. It was a title that was only bestowed upon the best, and most promising knights. And it was something Valo wanted eagerly, despite his rough and hot headed habits the fire mage took his career as a magic knight very seriously. He was driven to be one of the best knights in Clover, and nothing was going to stop him from achieving that goal. Becoming a Royal Knight was just another thing on the list he had to achieve. He was in preparation mode when it came to the exams, he wanted to make sure he was as strong and as fit as he possibly could going in. Which meant his training regime had nearly tripled lately, there was some rambling around the base that Valo's current level of power and accomplishments could place him in the ranks of the Royal Knights easily. But he ignored such rumors, he believed nothing in life came free or easy. He was going to earn everything put before him, with hard work and effort.
But there was a loud shout in the opening gates of the base that nearly snapped everyone around to attention. Using his Ki Valo knew someone powerful no, extremely powerful had just paid the Green Mantis base a visit. And apparently this person was looking for Valo, wanting to give him an invitation. Valo quickly stood up and was standing on top of one of the many roofs, with a flick of his wrist he summoned one of his dragon golems and rode down to the ground. Getting a good look at the one who was calling for him, and it was none other than Zaven Blade the captain of the Golden Dawn.
The fire mage raised and eyebrow and jumped down from his golem and was facing Zaven, a confused look was on Valo's face. It wasn't normal to find the captain of Golden Dawn at the Green Mantis base. "Captain Zaven Blake, from the Golden Dawn. It's rare to see someone like you around here. What brings you over?" Valo said with a smirk. Agneya Valo's fire spirit showed her face soon after. "So you got an invitation for us? What's it for?" She said eagerly Everyone around them seemed to have their eyes glued to the scene, there was some whispers starting about Valo potentially leaving Green Mantis for Golden Dawn. Which he quickly wanted to put to rest. "If this is about joining Golden Dawn...sorry to disappoint. But I got no plans on doing so. My home is at Green Mantis." he said crossing his arms
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Valo did not make him wait too long thankfully and as the man finally arrived at the gates he greeted the Shadow of Dawn with the words he had heard a dozen times over. He really needed to get out some more… [break][break]
The spirit that was accompanying Valo spoke, sounding a little impatient, but it was no harm, no foul so Hraban floated up near the fire spirit and looked it over. Hraban then looked at Valo and then understood the reason why the spirit resonated so well with the man and smiled before sitting back on Zaven’s shoulder. Valo then decided to speak loud enough to quell any sort of rumors that the Golden Dawn captain was there to poach a member of their Green Mantis squad and he handed him an envelope. ”If I was here to take you back to the Golden Dawn...I would not require your input. This invitation is for your eyes only however and you should take a look before we go somewhere to talk. Unless you really wish to talk out loud, I would not want any word getting out and around in your home after all.” Zaven said this in a calm tone, the soft smile on his face as he just waited for the reply to come from young Valo. He had already had a look around using his own keen eyes to take in the base and filter out where the barracks were, offices, and the like...the place was built kind of like the Black Bulls...it was more of a base of operations, there were no business professional effects, it was mostly just whatever they felt would look good in a space was placed there. ”By the way, where do you all train?” He asked as he stretched a little. Yawning some. ” I could use a friendly spar to loosen up my muscles...I have had a bit of a journey to get here to personally deliver this invitation and have been too tense to really take a rest to limber up.” He finished as even Hraban was a little confused by what his master was asking, it was as if Zaven was trying to pick a fight with the very man he was inviting to be a part of the Royal Knights. He hoped that Valo would see his reasoning and take him up on the backhanded offer to a friendly spar.
