In Kiten, there is a man going by the name Vincent Wetherby, though he wishes to simply be called “Wetherby”, who is working on his latest book. Calling it “Wetherby’s Bestiary”, he offers any who are willing to provide him with new information a fitting sum of money, not to mention having their name written into the book for their contributions. For this particular bit of input, you are to travel to the fringe and observe the local cockatrice in their natural habitat, writing down as many things as you can that might be of any value to the bestiary. Even the smallest, most insignificant of things may end up being invaluable, so write it down.

Maximum Number of Players: 3
[break]Minimum Word Count: 3500
[break]Location: The Fringe
[break]Special Requirements: For this mission, you are to primarily observe the habits and way of life of the creatures in question. While you are allowed to defend yourself or even engage them if you believe this will provide additional information, you are under no circumstances allowed to kill them for the sake of the book as Wetherby is a pacifist above all else. Failure to abide by these rules means automatic failure of the mission, so do not kill anything!
What NPCs are in this mission? Please fill out the template for any notable NPCs. While those you have to socially interact with during the mission are not required, any enemy that is presented in the mission must be listed here.

Name of NPC: Cockatrice
Health Limit: Grand
[break]Physical Speed: 10 m/s (15 m/s when flying)
[break]Physical Damage: Grand
[break]Magic Element and Types: Sound | Attack Creation
[break]Combat Style: When venturing near the roost of the Cockatrice and therefore earning their ire, it will attempt to attack its target with their razor-sharp talons or knock them off of their feet with a beat of their mighty wings. Capable of releasing high pitched screeches that sound like the warped crowing of a rooster, it is capable of deafening the target and blowing them away at least 15 meters if hit head-on.
[break]Additional Information: There are a lot of stories going around about the Cockatrice. Said to have been born of eggs laid by roosters consorting with other roosters. The egg must be incubated for forty-four days by a toad, which is devoured by the little beast as soon as it hatches. A cockatrice hates everything that lives so fiercely that its glance turns the living to stone. This however is not true, as they are merely magical creature and a species of their own. Though related to the basilisk, very little else is known about them, aside from the fact that they are incredibly violent to anything that enters its territory and ventures even remotely close to their roost. Unless one finds a hiding place where the Cockatrice cannot reach, it will keep pursuing the target until they have killed them.
