The contestants came in many different types. A wide variety of magic was on display here. It was quite interesting to her to see such a wide variety of magic on display. Given the nature of Verena's magic, she was naturally enthralled as she saw each contestant put on a display utilizing their magic. However, maybe it was simply confidence in her craft. Or perhaps it was just plain and simple arrogance. She wasn't sure what it was, but thinking about it wasn't going to do her much good.[break][break]
But she liked to think that her magic was truly something that stood out amongst the variety of contestants on display here.[break][break]
Not once did Verena think she was better or that her magic was better. Not once did she think that only she could perform something that nobody else could. Golems were not unique to her. She knew that. Her magic was one of just many that already existed. But she was confident that of the people here, she was one of a very limited number of persons who had a deeper level of understanding of mana.[break][break]
And it was for that very reason that the brunette had no desire whatsoever to let that opportunity squander. She had something unique that she could offer, just like many others did. Verena could make a change, and it started now. Her status as a royal knight likely meant that there were already people watching her, and the brunette already had some level of fame attached to her name. Her title wasn't just for decoration; the "Elemental Heiress" had inherited the "right" so to speak of mana.[break][break]
When it was finally her turn, she took to the "stage" of the arena. It was just her right now. She was to show off what she could do. She had come a long way, and it showed with how she carried herself. Her glasses weren't present on her face, and she walked with a degree of confidence -- something that was only possible in part due to Lydia's training and the potion that came with it.[break][break]
Still, despite her confidence, Verena knew that there were several disadvantages she had going into this. For starters, Flügel had been removed from her grimoire. In addition, she hadn't had the proper time to sit down and train shadow or dark magic, and her wood golem had been removed from her grimoire as well. Effectively, of the nine elements she had access to, she was missing four. Furthermore, she was lacking wind, meaning that she also was missing one of the main four elements, something that bothered her immensely.[break][break]
Furthermore... Verena bowed her head. Despite being a Reinsberg, her skill with curse magic was still... lacking. She was struggling with putting her all into studying it. The memories of her father hadn't quite left her. Of what he had done to her. Slowly she was making progress, but trying to advance was ... difficult. It was frustrating.[break][break]
But at the very least, she was proficient enough with healing magic, and more importantly, her mind was effectively an encyclopedia of curses due to all the studying she had done. In that sense, few were as capable of identifying various curses as she was. So vast was her studying with curses that she had reached a level of healing magic that allowed her to simply remove a curse on a person by identifying its source and denying it there.[break][break]
But she wasn't sure if it would be enough... Verena let out a frustrated sigh. Well, it didn't matter. It was her turn now, and so she went to the center of the arena. She needed to give them a reason to care.[break][break]
Ardere Kasai. Zaven Blake. Lydia Ravencrest. These three had already seen what she was capable of with her golems. But Lydia wasn't present with the captains, and so several others hadn't seen what she was capable of.[break][break]
"My name is Verena Nicole Ruhm Reinsberg," she said, allowing for a more proper introduction as she curtseyed before the Magic Knight Captains. "I utilize Summoner magic, but I also use Carbon Magic. I was blessed with not just a four-leaf grimoire, but two elements as well. I specialize in golem creation, but I'm also adept with defense and I've studied curses extensively to a degree I'm confident that I can deal with several curses. Due to my primary magic, I am capable of learning many different elements. For example..."[break][break]
"Summoner Creation Magic: Bestimmung. Summoner Creation Magic: Terra. Summoner Creation Magic: Fluss." she said, utilizing three different but all very powerful spells.[break][break]
Fire. Earth. Water. A warrior clad in flame, who gave off an impression of both two of Clover's most well-known magic knights-- Ardere Kasai and Valo Stark. A stone giant that was clearly three separate pieces involving a giant body and even larger arms and towered above both, easily dwarfing both of her other golems. Its fists alone were easily larger than their caster. And a champion of water. Though outwardly it didn't seem to possess any qualities that embodied water, it very clearly was made with the ocean in mind, and its staunch presence was something akin to a defender of the seas.[break][break]
"But these aren't the only elements I have access to. Wood, Sound, and Shadow, as well as both light and dark effectively registered within my grimoire as well," she explained. "Furthermore, of the golem categorizations, I utilize Guardian, Balanced, and Scout-Types."[break][break]
"I will admit, I dislike fighting. For that reason, I focus more on protecting people through defense creation and through my training with Lydia, have also learned Healing Magic," she explained. "Right now, I am more confident in handling curses than I am in true healing, but I am adamant in improving in this regard. But in any case, I've been studying them for several years now and as such, I'm more confident in dealing with them. ...Some of you may have an idea as to why that is, but I would prefer not to get into the details of that."[break][break]
"Restraining magic is another thing I am capable of," Verena said as her grimoire once again shot open. "Carbon Restraining Magic: Chains of the Future," she chanted, as three chains total shot out towards each of the golems. "My carbon magic is quite durable; enough that many would struggle at breaking it. And the same is true for my defense magic."[break][break]
On cue, another wall was shot up after Verena declared her Carbon Magic: Survival Instinct Spell. "These walls are also capable of shooting chains out," she explained. "Allowing for a wide variety of methods to try to surprise and capture any applicable persons."[break][break]
"I will need one volunteer for my healing magic. I'll admit, I'm not where I wish to be with this yet. However, I am still proficient enough in it to confidently use it as an example as part of my skillset," she said.[break][break]
Assuming at least one volunteer did show up, Verena offered him a polite smile. "Thank you," she said.[break][break]
"To compensate for my still inexperienced healing magic, I combined it with my defensive constructs so that I may use it in a variety of situations, rather than just when something may be safe, as that's not always applicable. Saint's Oath was created with that in mind," she explained before casting her last spell.[break][break]
The woman had cast several incredibly high-level spells, and though she was feeling the effects a bit, it was nothing compared to how hard Lydia had them train. Combined with the potion she had been given, it was easy enough to mask just how tired it was. But she figured if she was going to show what she had, then it would take the spell range she was most comfortable using. And Saint's Oath was a perfect example of how the woman was aware of her weaknesses in some areas and tried to circumvent them.[break][break]
With this, her demonstration was over. Despite her lack of experience in healing, the man was surprised at just how potent she was. It was far .... purer, in a way, than most truly inexperienced mages were. He felt better than ever, and he made it a point to express that. This type of skill was something only possible from having Lydia responsible for training, however. Of that, Verena had little doubt.

[break]SUMMONER CREATION MAGIC: BESTIMMUNG
Element: Fire[break]Rank: Senior[break]Size: Up to 9m[break]Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break]Type of Golem: Balanced[break]Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golems, Ranged Golem, Fierce Golems[break]Description: Upon saying the spells name, a fiery warrior appears. Bestimmung's source of inspiration comes from two different people. Valo Stark, and of course, the man who taught her fire magic -- Ardere Kasai. With the Royal Knight Exams upcoming, she sincerely felt the need to create something amazing despite struggling beforehand with a source of inspiration. And so she got to work with its creation.[break][break]The first matter of business that Verena felt was prudent in its creation was that this golem needed to be able to contain the fire, rather than be in a constant state of the inferno. To that end, Bestimmung resembles a tall, humanoid figure made up of coal. Make no mistake though, this golem can and will emit enough heat to set itself ablaze when engaging in combat scenarios. In fact, when fighting does happen, it creates a flaming cape and waist cloth born of the inferno that made it, and its body lights up in accordance to the temperature.[break][break]This coal seems to serve as an armor -- a testament to Verena's durable golems [Reinforced Golems]. This "armor" is adorned as a headpiece across its head, with finely shaped coal lodging out around the neck and shoulders to give it an intimidating look. A chest piece is adorned as well, with charcoal-like markings on it to look the part of flame -- this is, of course, not charcoal, but rather it was simply burned into this piece, as are the ornate pieces going down the sternum and hip around the hips and shoulders. Something resembling a belt is adorned across Bestimmung's waist as are more pieces of charcoal armor -- a testament again to Verena's desire to make durable golems.[break][break]What makes this golem unique is that there were two sources of inspiration for it. Taking in the best of what she learned from both Valo Starrk and Ardere Kasai. As with most golems, this golem is proficient in short-range attacks. When engaging in short-range battle, this golem emits a blue hue and that does seem to be its constant state. It uses its powerful punches and kicks to deal with enemies, dealing [Senior] damage and each hit leaves burns befitting of such. It is capable of striking with enough force to knock back whomever it hits with its melee attacks per knockback rules. This golem prefers to grab onto its opponents and use its whole body to emit heat capable of damage if it manages to grab someone. This blue flame was inspired by Valo Starrk.[break][break]This golem is capable of shooting out fire as well from the palm of its hands. It doesn't take much for it to achieve this, and as such as soon as the command "Shoot" is given, its hand glows with a vibrant red and yellow color before a blast of fire is shot out up to [20m], covering everything directly in front of the golem in that range in heat capable of dealing [Intermediate] damage, and burns of equal intensity. This is not a full circle AOE, but instead only covers everything within that designated AOE in a cone-like fashion, thus not endangering allies who are directly next to or behind Bestimmung. Most importantly to Verena, as these fires are only temporary and cannot be sustained, they are incapable of causing any large-scale fires, burning out quickly after their initial attack.[break][break]Like most golems, additional ones be made via ammo rules, capping out at a total of three additional ones. However, these golems are ill-suited to being used as transportation and as such are not used as such. In addition, this golem is incapable of dealing more than [Senior] damage to a single target.
SUMMONER CREATION MAGIC: FLUSSType | Power | Durability | Sensory | Range | Speed | Health |
Balanced | 80(-5)(+15) | 80(-5)(+15) | 80(+10) | 80m | 18m/s | Senior+Junior |
Element: Water[break]Rank: Senior[break]Size: Up to 12m[break]Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break]Type of Golem: Guardian[break]Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golem, Fierce Golems[break]Description: Upon saying the spells name, a champion of water appears. Fluss takes the tall of a bipedal humanoid figure. As with most of Verena's golems, it is more human in its appearance than anything else. Its skin is light, almost peaceful blue like a calm ocean. As with all of Verena's Golems, however, it is armored [Reinforced Golems] with deep blue plating across its arms, shoulders, and thighs. Gold runs down the central plating and around its waist as well as possessing golden shoulder spaulders and wrist guards.[break][break]It seems to also possess a helmet of some kind, but the truth is this just part of its face. Golden wing-like ornaments are placed on this "helmet" as well.[break][break]At a glance, nothing about Fluss seems like it would embody water magic beyond its own coloration. It possesses simple hands and feet, and though it may be armored decently, nothing about it seems to be associated with its magic. However, that couldn't be the furthest from the truth. This golem is adept at swimming, and though its speed will not increase when in the water, it can still easily carry twelve people both on land in the sea for the purpose of transportation (its own speed will not suffer any demerits when used this way as a result of moving slower than the listed speed).[break][break]Aside from it's proficiency with swimming being created as her only means of fighting against such enemies beyond flying at this point in time, every physical strike Fluss deals is infused with [Senior] levels of damage, and each blow it manages to land is heavy. This is because it uses the water mana to infuse each strike as though it is unleashing the pressure of the ocean depths in each strike. Of course, it does not actually do that -- one might draw that conclusion, especially as every strike from it creates a torrent of water to accelerate each strike and cause opponents to fly back equal to the appropriate knockback rules.
SUMMONER CREATION MAGIC: TERRAType | Power | Durability | Sensory | Range | Speed | Health |
Guardian | 90(+10) | 110(+15) | 50(+5) | 40m | 12m/s | Grand |
Element: Earth[break]Rank: Senior[break]Size: Up to 12 meters[break]Mana Cost: 30 | 15[break]Type of Golem: Guardian[break]Applicable Perks: Puppet Master, Reinforced Golems, Ranged Golems, Fierce Golems[break]Description: Upon saying the spell's name, a three piece golem giant of an earth golem appears.Terra takes the form of a colossal entity made of solid earth and stone. However, it's broken up into three parts--the main body and two massive floating arms. The arms each make up the bulk of its mass and are measured at [12m] in height. The main body is roughly [8m] in its own height and lacks legs; thus, it is in a constant state of floating. This is the most advanced type of golem Verena has made thus far, and it is without question her most durable. A yellow heart-shape can be seen in the center of its chest.[break][break]There are several advantages to this design for Verena. The first major advantage lies in it the fact the body operates as something akin to a control terminal... not that there exists something in Clover Kingdom akin to that. The arms exist more as weapons; they can still be destroyed, of course, and if they are destroyed this golem offers no functionality beyond serving as a wall for the caster. It is incapable of doing anything other than floating at [12m/s], even if used as transportation for up to [3] people.[break][break]Like many of Verena's golems, this golem is capable of raw physical strength that is capable of sending opponents back considerable distance; for every 10 [POW] that this golem possesses, it is capable of sending knocking a target back by up an additional [5m] with a base value of [8m].[break][break]However, this golem is the first of hers that is capable of ranged attacks by using up more mana -- specifically, by paying half of the cost of the spell -- a skill she was sorely lacking in before. These giant fists that are floating alongside the golem are its primary and only weapons. At command, these fists can be launched at [20m/s] reaching a distance of up to [40m]. In addition, the general damage output of these falls accordingly, only dealing [Intermediate] damage with strong blunt force. However, she can only launch one fist at a time. After which, if it makes contact with anything, including the target itself, defensive constructs, golems, or even part of the landscape itself, it returns back to the main body at similar speeds to when it was launched.[break][break]However, if these fists are used within the [12m] of the main body--their maximum range of attack, it is capable of unleashing its full [Senior] damage. These fists are very human-like--they can grab things, pull, et cetera. Anything a human hand is capable of, so are these.[break]

CARBON MAGIC: CHAINS OF THE FUTURE
Elemental Type: Carbon Matter[break]Rank & Spell Type: Senior, Restraining[break]Range & Speed: 80m, 40 m/s[break]Mana Cost: 30 (cast), 15 (sustain)[break]Stats Effected: -15 Mana Regen[break]Applicable Perks: Sapping Bonds[break]Description: Upon saying the spells name, Verena will create a single chain that appears from out of her grimoire. This chain will be launched towards a target(s) at 40m/s, up to 80m. By utilizing ammo rules, she can create additional chains for every 30 CON she has. These chains do not hinder mobility, but instead sap the mana and hinder mana regenerative abilities of the target.[break][break]Because of [Sapping Bonds], Verena will be able to drain 10 mana from anyone affected by these restraints, and get half of that amount back per target affected. This is does not accumulate with additional Restraining Magic.[break][break]Once being cast, the chain(s) will launch straight ahead. Being made of carbon, they will be a bit more durable than other types of elements [Affinity]. They appear to be heavy chains like the ones prisoners would have attached to a weighted ball. Once they latch onto their target(s), they will envelop them, and integrate themselves into the person's body via contact. This is a painless process, however, as the chains are purely magical rather than physical, despite their outward appearance. They can still be destroyed with a spell that has enough power, however.[break][break]If something like a Defensive Creation spell blocks their path, clashing rules will still apply. The spell is capable of taking Senior level damage before being destroyed.
CARBON MAGIC: SURVIVAL INSTINCTElemental Type: Carbon Matter[break]Rank & Spell Type: Senior, Defense Creation & Restraining[break]Range & Speed: 80 m, 40 m/s[break]Mana Cost: 30 (cast) 15 (sustain)[break]Stats Effected: +9 DUR, -15 Mana Regen[break]Applicable Perks: Hazardous Shields, Juggernaut, Sapping Bonds[break]Description: Upon saying the spells name, Verena creates a wall that is 2x4x5 (length x width x height) made of pure carbon and as such is akin to a jet black in color. The wall appears as though it's constantly moving around, and this is in part due to [Juggernaut], as it is capable of, with limited usages, of strengthening itself in what would otherwise tear right through, or damage it to render that damage obsolete. If someone tries to attack the wall, the carbon will react and will spike out, damaging whoever is attacking it equal to [Intermediate] damage thanks to [Hazardous Shield]. In addition, the wall is capable of shooting out a solid "chain" of carbon though, plus one additional chain for every 50 [CON] she has. These chains function in accordance to clashing rules, and cause strain on a person's ability to regenerate their mana, depleting it by 15 (though if their mana regenerative ability is lower, then it will be reduced to 1). If they catch a person, their ability to cast spells is reduced by fifty percent of what would be their normal casting limit. In addition, if they manage to bind someone, their mana will be sapped by ten, giving Verena half of what is drained.
CARBON RECOVERY MAGIC: SAINT'S OATH
Elemental Type: Carbon[break]Rank & Spell Type: Grand, Healing[break]Range & Speed: 150m, 75m/s[break]Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break]Stats Effected: +12 DUR (User)[break]Applicable Perks: Hazardous Shield, Juggernaut, Cleanse[break]Description: Upon saying the spells name, carbon will rise up and completely shut out the caster as well as anyone within the space noted below, encasing them in an incredibly thick and dense amount of carbon in a dome-like manner. This "dome" can reach up to 6x5x2.5m in scale, making it an incredibly spacious area to contain injured, though it's just as easy to make it spacious enough for a few people. Within this dome is incredibly potent healing magic using carbon to achieve that, capable of healing up to [Grand] damage if sustained long enough.[break][break]If sustained for one post, the user can regrow someone's digits. At two posts, the healer can restore smaller, non-vital organs. At three, restoring organs and limbs is possible. If the caster has Archangel's Blessing, it becomes possible to resurrect someone who has died. In addition, poisons, hexes, curses, et cetera can be cleansed within this space per cleansing rules when healing one person specifically.[break]The potency of the spell is reduced by one rank's worth of effectiveness per person being healed, making it more optimal to use for only one person at a time unless the caster has Archangel's Blessing.[break]The dome is incredibly durable, capable of sustaining damage up to [Archmage] levels under ideal scenarios for the caster. If it would be destroyed by a force equal to its own spell, the dome will automatically condense itself towards that weakest point to shield its occupants, becoming almost like a diamond in its durability -- perhaps even more durable.[break]Anyone who tries damaging the shield through physical means on the outside will find that its durability is not to be underestimated, causing [Senior] damage to anyone just for trying to approach anyone within per [Hazardous Shield].
