Walking through the forsaken region, Yugo made his way toward the deepest parts of the forest. Each step carried him closer to the Diamond Kingdoms border with the Clover kingdom. He carried with him his magic crossbow, and his lightning blade. As well as a borrowed spy scope from the man who had hired him to research the bears in the region. He was eager to do the task. His first mission following his meeting with his father and his recovery from the take over of the creature that had possesed himself and his grimoire. Though it didn’t mean he was truly alone either. Every so often he would see something out of the corner of his eye, a figure that flitted between seen and unseen. He was unsure if he should tell anyone of the visitor he had, but he wasn’t entirely sure they were evil either. They spoke to him as a friend would, and helped him when he hesitated on decisions. Though really it was just another crutch he had grown used to using, one he vowed to one day break so he could stand on his own. But for now… he would let it support him just a little while longer. He soon reached the area he was looking for. The clearing had been known to be a hot bed for bears and he made his way toward the spot he had been told about by the person who bought his services. The blind was concealed with magic, and was well placed so he wouldnt be in the way of the bears.

It was a few hours of reading before the bears arrived, a small group of a mother Bear and her three Cubs. They were searching for food and he smiled as they milled around and foraged. Thankfully the magic of the blind kept them from getting to nosey, though that didn’t stop Yugo from smirking as the baby bears began to play mid search for food. Their mother seemed to sigh with a happy annoyance as Yugo made his notes in the book he ahd been provided with. It was only a copy, but thanks to the magic anything written in it would be instantly copied into the original. Yugo smiled happily and continued to make his notes with little issue, and shortly after the creatures finished foraging they left along their marry way. Yugo then began to pack up his items and after giving them time to leave, he made his way from the blind and back through the forest. But it was then that the voice he had been hearing whispered into his ears, it told him to run. He hesitated, and that gave just enough time for the massive wounded bear to strike through several trees in its mad attempt to kill Yugo. The force of the blow alone caused Yugos body to slide back from the wind it produced alone as the large and imposing male bear made its way out from the woods it had been in. Spears and arrows that showed clear age having been lodged into the bears hide through out the years were inbedded in its white fur showing the bear was from the northern regions.

The voice spoke again, beseeching Yugo not to fight, But to run. His entire body screamed at him to run, But his mind was overthinking everything all at once and the bear reared up standing nearly twice Yugos height and easily several times his weight. The young mage ducked down and barely avoided getting his head torn off by the bears next attack, the force of its blow caused the wind to push Yugo back once again and his clothing was starting to shred from the pressure alone. He didn’t need to be asked a third time and he turned and ran with everything he had. He hoped that if he could out pace the bear he could get away from it and lose its attention. But as he made it to the other side of the clearing, and the rabid angry bear was following halfway through the clearing. The happy sounds of the cubs and their mother making noises in the nearby section of forest caused both parties to screech to halt. The bear turned its massive muzzle toward the sound and Yugo’s eyes followed the movement before he leveled the magic crossbow on his wrist at the bear and with a single click fired a round ball of glass at the bears forehead, and pegged its temple with a good force, but all that did was remind the bear that Yugo was there. Its angry blood lust filled eyes sharply turned to face Yugo and he gave a scared but unapologetic smile that was touched with an understanding that he had just drawn the attention of a dangerous foe.

The bear turned its attention toward him and rushed him down. The movement was fast, and Yugo didn’t have enough time to get fully out of the way. He took a hard blow from the bears shoulder tackle and was spun off to the side. He managed to catch his footing just as the bear crashed into the blind he had been in and completely destroyed it. The bear was roaring as it tore its way out of the blinds cloth, the shimmering magic that made it invisible was failing and Yugo grabbed the handle of his lightning sword, But as he was going to draw it the voice spoke to him once more. It told him hed die here if he fought this creature. Yugo turned to look toward where the mother bear and her cubs had been and he was happy to see they were escaping from the battle nearby. Yugo nodded and let go of the sword before resigning himself to play distraction for just a bit longer. He aimed with his free hand and used the words ‘mark, set’ to activate the tracking function of his spell as he rsuhed toward the other direction from the mother bear and her cubs before firing off the spell at the aggravated bear, and he kept that fearful smile but gritted his teeth with the confidence that he could handle at least this much. As his spell slammed into the bears other temple from the other side thanks to the angle he had sent the spell flying from.

The bear roared and Yugo noticed it was dazed. Despite knowign where he was the bear had trouble heading in that direction and seemed to be shaking off the after effects of the blow it had suffered to both temples. Yugo didn’t need the voice to tell him it was now that he should run as fast and as hard as he could away from the bear. H turned and pushed off the ground as he rushed toward the safety of civilization. But even as he ran for his life and his heart pounded with the wonderous tone of adrenalin, Yugo couldn’t help but feel proud that he had survived. The bear was obviously far above his level and he had managed to at least give the mother bear and her cubs more time to run from the dangerous rabid bear. But he wouldnt leave the bear alone for long, as soon as he could report back what he had found he would return and put an end to that monsterous creature. It was obvious the creature had survived a hard life and had been attacked by hunters multiple times and still survived. The young noble would need to make sure he was prepared to put an end to the monsters life the next time he returned to the forest.
