[attr=class, cyrustext]It was not too often that Cyrus was given the chance to interact with one of the newer members of the Golden Dawn. Even before the Shatter event, the young Elwood wizard was quite busy most days; if he was not engaging in one of Zaven's brutal training regimens with Hama, he was usually studying or doing some training on his own. And ever since three months ago, he had been even more busy.
For one thing, after he began to realize how many things had changed, he wanted to go back and see if anything that he had learned through his studies had somehow changed as well. More significantly however, was the fact that he now had an older sister at home that he was effectively interacting with for the first time, even if she said that they had both grown up together. It was rather surreal, and attempting to engage in the usual tough training was a bit difficult with such distracting things on the mind.
With that being the case, he decided that he would take the opportunity of a day off to get to know another member of the Golden Dawn. Chishio was not someone with whom he was very familiar, so he figured that this would be as good a time as any to reach out. From what he had seen of the woman she was somewhat distant. It might be tricky, but he was willing to try. Not just so that he had something to do, but because they were squadmates; and hopefully soon, friends. And so here he found himself, walking around the Golden Dawn Headquarters in search of the young woman. She should have been informed that he would be looking for her, so hopefully she was looking for him as well.
Chishio found herself in the presence of no one. Golden Dawn was probably, no, wait, the hardest squad to get into of the Magic Knights. She was in it, she should be proud. But, she wasn't. This wasn't enough for her. She had to reach even higher to get what she truly desired. Chishio would walk and explore the halls of Golden Dawn out of curiosity. She had been here a bit, but even so, as a workaholic had not been given the chance to explore. She had only been living in this spacious and elaborate building for a bit/few days- but even though had not familiarized herself with the floor plan.
The young elf made her way to the dining area and would find herself something to eat- a snack purchased from the marketplace. Chishio would munch on the small tea cookies and without any tea too. She'd sit on a bench and let the crumbs fall on the table. She'd gather the crumbs later with a napkin and hand before scooping in the trash can. But now was not the time to clean, instead, she'd enjoy her cookies before heading out again for work.
Chishio had decidedly figured she had her thoughts to herself. The woman would close her eyes and almost meditative like proceeded to munch. No, she couldn't, if she closed her eyes steadily surely she'd go to sleep! So, she opened them again and would soon hear some footsteps approaching.
She'd snatch her head around and would see a petite boy- blonde, tanned skinned, and neon-colored eyes make his way inside. Chishio had been told by another member someone may make their way to her. She wasn't sure if it was true or not. The ambivert decided she'd not look for them, but instead let them come to her if this was really fact. Chishio found herself of no major importance. Why would anyone ever look for her?
[attr=class, cyrustext]Not for the first time since the Shatter, Cyrus found himself grateful for the fact that the basic structure and layout of the Golden Dawn's headquarters had not been altered to a problematic extent. He already wasn't the best ever with directions, and what's more is his Sensory abilities had been even less impressive than usual since the same period. So considering he was looking for somebody that he was not personally familiar with, he was glad that there was no issue to be had just with navigating their base's opulent halls.
Still, that didn't change the fact that it still took him some time to find his junior in the Golden Dawn. But at last he spotted her within the base's dining area and seeming quite engrossed with her little snack. He could tell that it was her right away; she had a rather distinctive appearance to her. Not wanting to seem as though he was just staring, he approached Chishio with a friendly smile and a small wave. She even gave him a greeting, simple though it was.
"Yes, hi! Chishio, right?" He returned, standing a little bit away to give her some space. Given that the Captain referred to him as such, he considered introducing himself to her as the Golden Dawn's second in command. But he still found that description of him to be odd and unfamiliar, especially considering that he didn't hold the official position of Vice Captain. Besides that, he also feared that it would perhaps seem a bit boastful. First impressions were everything when it comes to meeting new people, after all! So instead he opted for a more standard greeting, boring though it may be. He would rather come across as boring than a braggart. "My name is Cyrus Elwood. Would you mind if I joined you? I've been interested in speaking to some of our newer members and only today have I had the opportunity."
A small glow came from Cyrus' grimoire, and a light emerged from within the tome. It was Hama, his spirit companion and partner. "Finally found her, eh?" She asked, giving a half-hearted salute to the larger woman. "Hamadryad! Hama's fine, though. We've been looking for you for a while!"
Chishio would turn around all the way to face Cyrus. Her legs swayed over the bench so, her back was towards the table. Chishio looked at the boy taking him in. If he had existed in Magic Knights for a bit, which she had a feeling he had, as he was literally searching for new members, he may've been powerful. It seemed like everyone in Golden Dawn was a noble so, of course, this was the squad that was most gifted.
It felt weird, you were surrounded by prodigies and geniuses in magic. She was one when it came to understanding healing even though she was so weak. Yet, her noble status and family lineage as doctors helped tremendously.
"Yes, my name is Chishio Tanaka!" she'd exclaim, "How are you? she'd question right after.
She'd shift to the side on her bench so, he could sit down, "Sure, you can sit here or across from me I suppose."
The elf's thoughts were lukewarm. She wondered what he really wanted from her after all. There had to be something more friendship. There had to be some sort of goal she couldn't comprehend. After all, she was no mind reader.
Then, out popped a spirit from his Grimoire. She'd nonchalantly take a sip of her drink. So, she was right, he had a spirit after all so he must be powerful! Despite these thoughts, she was very casual about the situation. She wasn't intimidated and knew in time the woman would catch up to him in power.
"Nice to meet you Hamadryad." she'd opted to say her full name with grace and ease, "How long were you searching for me?"
Chishio had a neutral expression but assuming he'd sit down with her, if he did she'd offer a cookie, "Here. Take it."
[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus blinked in surprise as Chishio enthusiastically returned his greeting, confirming her identity as the one he was searching for and inviting him to sit next to or across from her. Not being the sort to invade peoples' space, normally he would choose the latter option. But after a moment of thought, he decided to take up the offer to sit beside her instead. Being a higher ranked member of the Knights, as well as a stranger, he worried that perhaps sitting across from her might feel too much like an interview or something when he really just wanted to chat.
"Thank you, Chishio." He said, happy to hear her offer. After spending a fair amount of time searching for her, it would have been awkward had she denied him. As he sat down, still making sure to keep a bit of distance between them out of respect, Hama floated down to sit on the table, resting against his arm. She seemed quite content as the dark-skinned woman greeted her, happy to actually be spoken to directly for once; all too often she was ignored when she spoke in favor of people taking her points up with her partner. "It's just been a few minutes really." She said when the wizard asked how long they had been searching for her.
Cyrus nodded in confirmation, tilting his head a bit when he saw that Chishio was offering him one of her cookies. "And thank you again!" He said with a smile, happily accepting it. He carefully broke it into two pieces, one a bit larger than the other, and handed the larger piece to his tiny friend. "Ah, I love these things! Food's a lot better now than it used to be!" Hama said gratefully, digging into the snack. Cyrus laughed a little. "Spirits don't really need to eat, but they can still enjoy it." He explained briefly to the third member of their group.
He took a bite of his own piece, savoring it for a moment before swallowing. "So, like I said, I've just been curious about some of the newer members of the squad! What you can do, goals, just you know, whatever! That is if you don't mind, of course. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have for me as well. Only fair, after all."
[attr=class, cyrustext]Cyrus and Hama spoke to Chishio for a fair while, enjoying the opportunity to just sit down and enjoy somebody else's company. Ever since the Shatter event he felt like he never had any sort of opportunity to do so, which made it an excellent change of pace for the pair. The familiar atmosphere of the Golden Dawn's mess hall coupled with comforting tastes and smells certainly wasn't unwelcome either, having a soothing effect all on their own on top of the conversation's.
Still, as with most things one might become fond of in life, so too must a brief respite come to an end. Just as Cyrus was telling the newcomer of some useful shortcuts to take around the base when things got crowded, Hama gave his hair a light tug from her usual perch on his shoulder and directed his attention towards a clock hanging on the wall nearby. "Oh wow, I didn't realize just how much time had passed." He noted, nodding towards the time keeper. Cyrus pushed himself up to a standing position at the table where they had been eating. "I almost lost track of the day, eheh. I've got to head home so that I could help out my sister with some much needed house repairs we have been neglecting; you probably don't know this, but the Elwood estate is actually out in the Forsaken Region rather than here in the Royal Capital. Gotta make sure we're up to code."
Cyrus gave a polite bow, while Hama waved as the two turned. "It was nice meeting you Chishio!" Hama said, giving a joking salute. Cyrus smiled in agreement. "Sorry to cut the conversation so suddenly. I hope we can speak again soon!" And with that the two left the base.
