Arriving shortly before sunrise, Sirius walks into the common town of Kiten. Born in the forsaken region, he expected to put up with a lot but did not anticipate being forced into a pointless task. Representing his squad, the purple orcas, he was strictly ordered to assume a respectful posture and assist to the best of his abilities. Desperate to prove himself, he took the job without knowing much about it. Quitting now would only prove the stinging whispers right; it was simply not an option for him. Jaded and laid back, he pushed himself to carry out the task at hand. Although he seems to find it difficult to know where to begin. Luckily, he was given specific instructions on how to find his way into the household of the aristocrat. But since he had arrived quite early, it was a good opportunity for him to do some sightseeing.
Besides its huge walls, the town seemed quite ordinary. But coming from the forsaken kingdom, he was able to appreciate many things that others might have overlooked. The marketplace piqued his interest, so he began there. Although it’s not as crowded as he expected, he could almost hear every discussion that took place in the area. He tried his best to meet people by barging into every conversation he could, uninvited. There were only a few people who didn't mind his bravado. But as soon as they learned where he came from, they would become completely biased. Persevering, he managed to befriend a few individuals, but none of them had any influence that he could take advantage of. He selfishly thought of them as tools. Despite their incompetence, he still befriended them because of their uniqueness. Together with his new friends, he was able to see and experience the very best of Kiten. Still, he was warned of the alleyways and of the recent disappearances that have been going around town. No one seems to know much about the why, though. But he had enough on his plate to worry about anything except his mission.
A lot happened, and it was about time to get back on track. He said his farewells, and that’s when he heard a cry for help. He rushed towards it as fast as he could, but instead, he stopped himself. For several moments, Sirius rocked back and forth, trying to decide what to do. Grasping the noise that came from the forlorn alleyways of the town, his instincts kicked in, warning him to not go. But the second wave of screams shook him off enough to make him push through the uncertainty. Moving along the narrow passages between buildings, the light seems to fall behind. Darkness creeps in the further he goes. Unexpectedly, the loud voice stopped. Unable to determine where to go next, he examined both paths. The westward path seems to only get shadier. Getting through there would prove challenging. The one to the east might lead outside since light seemed to pierce through the corners like thin beams bouncing from one surface to the next.
Frustration builds inside while he struggles to choose. That’s when he realizes that the passages are almost completely empty. It was a long shot, but it was also the only thing he could think of. Closing his eyes and concentrating, his mind gave into silence, turning into nothingness. Supposedly, it would work, and perhaps sensing magic from anyone nearby could guide him to the right path. A shout interrupted him, broadcasting the answer he sought. So, he hurried to the right path, the voice getting louder and louder the closer he got. With all the hurry, he forgot to think about the consequences. He didn’t know what he was getting himself into. That’s when he paced himself and observed his surroundings. The houses' backs made a corridor that descended to obscurity. Dust and tattered fabrics of many colors adorned the path, and a couple of candles were all that illuminated the place. At this point, sunlight barely reaches the place. The wooden planks that made the roof were old, and anyone walking above might easily fall below, but he was certain that fixing alleyways was not in everybody’s priorities.
Upsetting voices begin to approach Sirius’s hearing range. The strangers mumbled a lot of nonsense he could barely understand, so instead he hugged the wall and slithered to the sides to peak into the tense chat between these two kids. For some reason, there was an old man tied up and gagged right next to them. He seemed to be dressed excessively well. Feeling bad for the children, he took it upon himself to stop them from doing anything that might be too late to fix. Like a showman, he stepped out from the shadows and dramatically made an entrance, alarming them with his presence. Asking them to hold on in the name of justice, he scared them unintentionally. With authority, the magic knight demanded an explanation. Luckily, they didn’t resist sharing the details of what transpired. They were actually happy to be given a chance to clarify that the man wanted to have them punished for stealing Willow when they were just innocently playing with her. Confronted by the grumpy man, they panicked. Unfortunately, the man these kids bizarrely managed to tie up was a noble, and they aren’t known to be forgiving. The odds that these children would escape chastisement are not good. Taking charge of the situation, Sirius ordered them to release the man. Though they wavered at first, he managed to comfort them by promising them their safety. And so, they release the old geezer, and as soon as he stands up, the man runs away screaming for his life with great embellishment. The man ran so fast he even forgot about Willow the cat, so I asked the kids to follow me and to bring the small beast as well. One of the kids held onto the kitten. Not certain of what to do about the kids, he let them tag along on his mission while he figured out what to do with them.
Together, all of them headed to the aristocrat’s estate. Upon their arrival, the noble woman rushed towards the knight in distress. She was screaming and crying about her cat. After venting for a while, she notices a white puffy kitty resting peacefully on the arms of one of the children. The woman rejoiced as she took the cat, calling her by her true name, Mrs. Snugglepuff. She demanded an explanation from the kids, and that’s when they once more explained themselves. She gave them a place to stay as a thank you for their contribution. As for Sirius, it took him a while, but he finally understood that the whole situation was regarding her missing cat. He didn’t expect the kid’s cat to be the same one the aristocrat would be looking for, but of course they did not need to know that. In the end, there was only one thought, one question that bothered him still: what had happened to the old man? But he shook it off, saying it doesn't matter because the mission has been completed.

A nice read! I like the mystery in the end!
I would say just be careful with the 1st person perspective: "The man ran so fast he even forgot about Willow the cat, so I asked the kids to follow me and to bring the small beast as well."
