Asmodeus has given an order for his sons and daughters to go and corrupt a much more primal link to the world to further their goals...the leylines. Sending out five of his children to the awakened hotspots awakened by the mages of Clover he tells them to take over these areas and corrupt them so that more daemonspawn can enter the world.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]Danger. That was the only ample word available to describe being in the outskirts of the Witches Forest. [break][break] Since the reveal of the Witch Queen's true identity, tension had risen between the Forest and the Clover Kingdom. To say the intricacies between the two were strained was an understatement. Nevertheless, Asmodeus was beginning to make moves. The risk was well worth the reward here--Ardere at least had to believe that. [break][break] The inherent danger is why the Captain only brought along his Vice; Hania Ravencrest. The two could use the experience together and his comrade's abilities could prove very useful. Watching the tree line, his sparkling amber eyes were on the lookout for anything strange. There was a rustling in the woods, a dark power growing to utilize the Leyline here. The Forsaken Region could not bear another major incursion. This had to be stopped now. [break][break] The Leylines...primal links between worlds. Asmodeus was smart. He understood the path to corrupting this world, but was that his true goal after all this time? There had to be more to it. As Ardere stood side by side which his friend and comrade, he looked to the Witches Forest. The mage could not help but recall his encounter with the Witch Queen here. It had been a long time since he felt power like that. Even so, he did not have time to succumb to fear. They had a mission to do. [break][break] Sensory is not my strongsuit, but even I can tell something is amiss here. The stench of Daemon ki plagues this place. Kneeling down to the earth, he felt a slight rumbling in the ground. We should probably get a closer look and access the situation before rushing in, don't you think--Vice Captain? With a devilish smirk, the Kasai looked to the Ravencrest. They would need to form a bond of trust if they expected to continue moving forward. He was not like Lydia or even Emily or Silas. Hania was one of the more unique wizards he'd met in his time, but he knew there was a potential there. His second in command had qualities he lacked, qualities the Crimson Lions could use. Even as the soldiers they were, crude strength was not the only path to success. [break][break] The Daemon's mana was beginning to grow. Ardere did not know how much of them there were, but he knew one of the five children would be there. He had a feeling each would pose an even greater threat than the last.
[attr="class","haniascroll"]A lot had happened in the recent past. A lot of them being personal to him or his family. He hadn't spoken about any of it, how could he without it shining a bad light on things. Then again it wasn't as if the light was going to get any brighter, he had been taught that duty to the kingdom should come first. That, after all, was the way of the Ravencrest, they would even sacrifice their own for the benefit of the kingdom. This mentality didn't bother him as he understood if it came to sacrifice the fewer casualties the better. That being said, a lot had been bothering him lately, starting with Lydia's sudden request for transfer to the Azure Deer. She had become the vice-captain soon after Silas had died and had shown no ambition for captaincy. Then again, he had heard things.
It wasn't as if they were things he could say never happened because he heard them from the horse's mouth so to speak and that troubled his mind. This was something that he couldn't have bothering him given the daunting task in his near future. It wasn't just the daemon he was going to have to concern himself with, but, his sister. He usually wouldn't speak about such things, but, there was just too much at stake. It wasn't exactly a conversation he knew he needed to have, it just wasn't one he was willing to have in the Crimson Lion's headquarters or anywhere with people in general. Walls had eyes and ears and knowing his sister's influence what he said in confidence would likely make its way back to her and cause an entirely new situation that he wanted to avoid. Luckily, an order from his captain crossed his quest and he was happy to oblige.
He had never personally met the Witch Queen but had read enough to know that the witches' forest had come to Clover's aid on more than one occasion. He also knew that since the Wizard king's announcement the tension between the two had been less than palatable, but this was to be expected. It did bring up a few questions, such as why had the archdaemoness helped Clover when they required aid. The only semi-decent notion he could come up with was it was the only way to free Nero and start the domino effect they were currently trying to prevent. After gaining his orders he finished his paperwork sending out people to do missions and dungeons before dealing with the family affairs he had to. He understood the urgency but things couldn't be left in limbo in his and Ardere's absence.
With everything finished he made his way to the outskirts of the witches forest where he met Ard, he understood why he would be requested alone to do this. It wasn't so long after he arrived that Ard spoke, he quirked an eyebrow for a moment "Given you know who rules here are you really surprised?" he would ask coming to a complete stop. He moved his hand towards the ground without bending to feel the mana, it truly felt off... sickly even. holding his left hand out, as his right hand went to his chest a snowflake of ice appeared hovering above his left hand. From the snowflake, a heavy ice-like mist drifted from it and crept out, before long a highly detailed three-dimensional model was beginning to form an image of their surrounding area including effigy of those wandering around inside it. Above each were a number of snowflakes indicating just how much mana they potentially had.

When it reaches the range it is able to the ice shaped like a snowflake moves to be flat, from that a highly detailed three dimensional model of the area made of ice seems to form from the iceflake. Effigy of those in the area are shown within the map with enemies being made of black ice, allies of frosted ice and neutral parties of clear ice. Above the effigy a number of snowflakes of ice will appear, the stronger mana the effigy representing holds the more snowflakes will be above it. (1 for junior, 2 for intermediate, 3 for senior, 4 for grand and 5 for archmage). The snowflakes will be of matching colour to the effigy itself.
Rank & Element: Junior ¦ Light Class & Type: Relic ¦ Accessory (bracelet) Magic Specializations: Physical Reinforcement ¦ Healing Appearance & Lore: A simple bracelet made out of reinforced glass with an opalite charm dangling from it almost like a pendulum, that gives off a dull light during the day and a bright light during the night preventing any natural shadow from forming.
There is nothing of major historical importance or deep story into where this item came from. The white-haired heir of the Ravencrest family has suffered from terrible day and night terrors since he was young and still does to this day. When asked what is wrong he brushes it off telling people not to worry it was a condition he had. He will never go into the terrible things he sees, in fact, he personally wishes he could forget he quickly realized that his perfect memory was a double edge sword and at times he truly wished he didn't have it.
His elder sister Lydia was the first to realize that it happened more when he was in an emotional state or surrounded by darkness. She also realized that he refused to sleep unless every light source he could find was active or he would sleep outside under the sun during the day, this wasn't optimal as he was to be trained to take over the family if anything were to happen to Lydia. Still, there wasn't much anyone could think to do to help him as he refused to open up but even if they could that came with a different set of hurdles they had to get over. Hania earlier in his life wouldn't take things from people due to his treatment before being adopted.
It took a while but Lydia finally found a way to help her younger brother, she had a crystal made with light inside and told him to use it when he sleeps. She said it was hers and she just wanted to see if it would help. He was reluctant but she said it only had to be a few days so he accepted. Throughout those few days, he slept somewhat peacefully so it was clear that it helped but not enough, she could only guess that the light wasn't strong enough. She realized this would be fine for a normal child afraid of the dark but it was clear to the pink-haired woman that this wasn't a normal situation.
She personally designed what she believed would help him the most, she chose the materials, their appearance even the opalite that dangles from it. As the bracelet was being made she slowly started to imbue her own element into the glass beads and the opalite as the former was created and the latter was shaped. It took close to a year to complete but Lydia seen it as something that should be done slow and steady, this was to make sure that it was done right the first time and that no matter what it would be near indestructible for whatever he may face in life.
On what is now classed as Hania's eighth birthday after a certain incident happened, she gave him a box, within it laid the bracelet. He was told to keep it with him always as she would be there to keep the darkness at bay and watching over him so he could be at peace while he rested. From that moment he has always kept it with him even if he hasn't always worn it.

[attr="class","ardereescroll"]To think, the last time I was here the Witch Queen almost kicked my ass. Sliding down the small drop-off that led further into the forest, Ardere leaped into the trees. He had to be quiet to properly utilize the element of surprise. Luckily he was blessed to have a Vice Captain that possessed skills he lacked. While they differed vastly, they did make quite the team. But the closer he got to the Leyline, the easier it became to tell that had a fairly sized group of Daemon to confront. [break][break] Looks like somewhere around twelve goons. One big bad in the middle. The Daemon spread themselves out across a small cleared in the trees, at the center of which was their assumed leader. Even from here, the fire mage could feel his power. He was no Archdaemon but the potential was there. Even he'd need to be careful. This Leyline business was far more volatile than any simple mission. [break][break] Cracking his knuckles, the crimson and brown haired man peered through the trees. None other than the Daemon were before them. The tricky part of this mission was making sure that no witches from the forest interfered. If they caused too much of a ruckus, it was likely to alert the Witch Queen. Delicate. What once would have been impossible for him was not seemingly more likely. Had he gotten soft in his old age or finally acquired some wisdom? While some may make fun of it, things had changed over the past two years. After losing Silas, a lot had changed. But with Salamander, he felt strong again. The red dragon was burning inside his chest, ready for a fight. You'll get your time, old friend. He whispered to himself, clutching his upper abdomen. [break][break] Swiftly ensuring his boots were tied to perfection, he knew he'd need to move quickly. We haven't had much time as Captain and Vice but I am glad to have you here with me, Hania. Things in this Kingdom are fragile to say the least. Having people you can count on is important. Always feel free to call upon me if you need me. Stretching his arms and legs as if he was preparing for a light workout, the Kasai had a wild look on his face. This look was one that only came with the thrill of the fight, something rare for him to find these days. He was not his rambunctious younger self, but the love of fighting remained even after all these years. We'll make quick work of these guys if we're careful. Then on to the next Leyline. Whatever Asmodeus is planning, can't be good. The last time Ardere encountered the Time Archdaemon....bad things happened to say the least. While times were different now, the threat remained. The wounds Jagen had given the Dark Overlord of Time would likely have healed by now. They had to expect he was at full power again.
[attr="class","haniascroll"]Hania listened to Ard, he hated the fact that the daemons kept being brought up it caused him headaches with intense pain and more often than not flashes of things he didn't understand and didn't really want to speak about. For now, he didn't have to worry too much about that as he was using the title witch queen but he was now fully aware of who was masquerading in the skin. "We best be careful or she'll finish the job." he said allowing his map to form, there would have been quite the chill in the area as the spell done the job of scouting and then recreating what it came into contact with. He closed his eyes and let out a silent sigh of frustration as he followed his captain down the slope but instead of sliding he carefully walked down. The reason for this was it created less noise.
Hearing him describing what he saw the ice mage just pointed to his map "I could have told you this already." he said his voice as calm as always. "My maps are accurate right down to making an effigy of those in the area and if you look." there were two that looked like himself and Ard that were frosted with five snowflakes above them and thirteen black of the enemy they could see in the clearing. Twelve of them had three snowflakes above their heads while one had four. It was quite clear he could have easily fit into the Azure deer, in truth, if it hadn't have been for the war the ice mage may not have actually joined the magic knights instead favouring the path of a researcher or scholar. He knew his family put the kingdom's well-being before their own wants and so he became a magic knight.
Additionally, if it hadn't been for his sister holding out a Crimson Lion's mantle he may have ended up within Azure Deer believing it was better suited for himself. "We need to talk about my sister captain." his tone was serious, he wasn't leaving his intent in the undertone it was rare for him to let his emotions out in the forefront meaning it was important. "But here is neither the time nor the place for that, I do not believe her a traitor to the kingdom but there are things that concern me." he would leave it there for now his eyes going to his map as he studied the movements. His eyes looked up as he heard Ard speak and seeing the action he looked back down at the map "Salamander is burning for a fight I see." All he knew was his own spirit and how they embodied their element he surmised Salamander was the same.
It was when Ard spoke again he gave his full attention "I would believe this would be the second time since I gained the title of vice captain, we are rarely in the same place at the same time." This was true but given what they were going to be facing they generally were dealing with their own small squads in preparation for the daemons. "Things in most kingdoms at current are fragile just for differing reasons. Our kingdom had three archdaemons attack at the same time, one of them being the former wizard king Nero. Kikka fell and was in darkness for two months and so it caused a rift between the civilian populace and the magic knights." the tension inside the Clover kingdom was terrible, but, he couldn't blame civilians for how they felt.
"I find believing you can trust someone is just a fake security as they too will likely betray you in the end." he wouldn't go further into why he believed such a thing and his undertone more or less warned not to push on the matter. "You have enough to worry about, you needn't worry about running to my call." Hania was quite self-sufficient and attempted not to rely on others for things. It was just easier in his opinion but this was more to do with his past before he had ended up in the Clover Kingdom. "It is appreciated however." he knew that his captain was a good person and would help where he could but even if he needed the aid he wouldn't want to put anyone under additional pressure. He sighed seeing what his captain was about to do, he had no idea why fire mages were so battle-happy.
"Don't be so hasty." His eyes moved around the trees "We are in her kingdom currently, the last thing we need to do is create ripples..." he warned the other, his hand going to his head wincing a little "She has eight princes all archdaemon or near enough and they all live in this forest, even if we don't alert her enough they could be around and outside what my map's detection we need to proceed with caution." he didn't want to rain on Ard's happiness but he was a realist, he brought down his hand not realizing he had likely given Ard information that wasn't known previously or if known or only known by a few people.
