Mr Jeremiah Jenkins, the owner of the Rusty Knife Tavern in Aries Garse needs help. Being one of the most popular taverns in town, he tends to a lot of patrons. Under normal circumstances, he had his employees run a great tavern. But the Temporal affects have caused issues with his memories and he is asking for help for a few shifts at least. He is one of just several cases in Aries Garse alone, but helping him would be a great service to Jeremiah himself and the town.

[break]Additional Information: A tall dark haired man in his 30s with a generally cheery disposition. The Temporal affects have caused him to forget how to tend to his duties as a business owner and Barkeep. He can perform simple tasks like pouring ale but is unfamiliar with proper cleaning procedures or making any complicated orders when it comes to drinks and food. He will periodically be caught in his own memories, feeling like he is a teenager again. At one point in time he was in love with a beautiful woman, but she passed away. He will often ask where she is and must be comforted in these times.
(Started this as a Civilian) Once again, Maria was being dragged into these peasant problems. Some unlucky shop owner was struggling because of the stupid temporal whatever and was having memory problems and the church *cough* Thaddeus *cough* wanted to do good for the world. Maria wanted to continue her training to become stronger and build her power for the day she eventually became a knight but nope, now she was helping her cousin do merchant work. She was not even a stupid merchant. However, she could not stop smiling out of habit and agreeing to help. Maybe she should have protested or speak her mind more, but Thaddeus was just tooo good of a person to just deny a quest. He was like family. Well, technically he was family and good family who did a good job looking after her in this new family. So many be it was right just to help him. Still, just because it was the right thing to do... did not mean she had to like it. The next time she saw him she was going to pout so hard.
She walked into the building wearing the same coloration as when she went on those assignments with the church along with her signature smile. Her hood was up but she kept her eyes down, if only to avoid that awkward conversation that always happens in places like this.
'Oh, arn't you too young to be in her missy?" "Oh, Where's your parents?" "Oh, children dont belong in places like this?"
It was so annoying. So, she kept a low, no lower profile than normal and sat on a barrel in the corner of the room with the door in sight. She did not see Thaddeus in the building but when you are the shortest person in the room looking down, it is hard to find people. If he was not in the room, then she would catch him coming in. If he was, then well, with the barrels help, she was almost tall enough to overlook a short person...

As unfortunate as the entire situation was, the various events surrounding the devils and daemons of the world had been becoming far more pertinent as of late. Not only had these dark mana beasts begun to flood into the kingdom but the magics of these Archdaemons seems to be affecting more than just their initial locations. An example of this is how the magic of the Archdaemon Asmodeus seems to be leaking from the Temporal Grand Magic Zone, thus creating various ripples in the way that things should be running within the Kingdom. It wasn't all that long before the Magic Knights and the Church of Clover had managed to pick up on this fact and well.. It is for this very reason that Thaddeus had found himself assigned to yet another task.
The mission that Thaddeus had found himself undertaking this time had been within the town of Aries Garse. As far as he could remember, this was a town that had been known for two major things. It was known for its extravagant night life and for the fact that it was the location of the first battle in the Diamond War. Unsurprising to the Spring Deacon, this was a land that had had the wool pulled over its eyes by daemonic activity multiple times now. "..honestly, these guys need a break. With everything that had happened in the past, one would think that the daemons would at least try and aim for another settlement... I guess that this place just has tons of bad luck. Or perhaps there is something special about it?" There was no real way of telling what the answer had been here so Thaddeus would opt to just drop it for the time being and focus on the task at hand.. As tasked by the Spring Bishop, Thaddeus would need to assist the owner of the Rusty Knife Tavern.
It wouldn't take all that long for the Spring Deacon to make his way out towards the town. With the assistance of his trusty ole magic broom, Thaddeus would actually make it there far quicker than he had initially anticipated. Of course there was a set time in which he was supposed to be meeting up with his cousin for this assignment. That being the case, despite the fact that he had arrived a bit early, Thaddeus would simply opt not to start off by heading out towards the tavern quite yet. Instead he would spend the hour or so in which he had had time exploring the town. As he had done so, he would go about asking various individuals about what kind of events had been transpiring within the town as of late. To his dismay but not to his surprise, Thaddeus wouldn't exactly come out with any more answers than he had gone in with. If anything, he had only been leaving with more questions than he had been answers. "Well.. This isn't going all that great. Hopefully I can come to understand what exactly is going on out here."
Eventually the time would come in which Thaddeus would have to make his way on over towards the Rusty Knife Tavern. Once this time had ultimately rolled around, Thaddeus would push open the doors of the tavern and begin to look around. He was starting off by searching for that cousin of his. Whilst he could have handled this situation on his own, or perhaps even with Drusilia, he had felt as though it would be good to bring his beloved cousin along. At least this way they could handle the situation on both fronts. As a member of the Church of Clover and a future Magic Knight.

The girl waited as dozens of people walked passed her. She got many looks but sitting away on the barrel alone was probably enough of a indicator that she was not trying to pretend to be an adult. This was great, but it also was a sign that Thaddeus was not here yet. Behind her smile, she was screaming. She internally screamed of boredom and screamed of regret for being a good family member. However like that, Gnome answered her calls. At least, that is what Thaddeus would say.
A short dark skin man entered the building, a short dark skin Wilhelm named Thaddeus. The girl scoffed in reluctant delight. Hoping down from her seat, she ran up to her cousin to great him. Because he was late though, she had to punish him. So she gave him an overly polite greeting. "Deacon Thaddeus, thank you for coming," the girl gave a slight curtsy since a full one would be too big of a moment for such a crowded and lively atmosphere. Her hood remained down and she at least made sure to bow to him. "You would not believe how comfortable my barrel was. I could probably fall asleep on it if I sat there much longer. Such a scary idea. hehe." A mischievous giggle gave away the playful intentions in her behavior though she figured her cousin already guessed as such. He was the Wilhelm she spent the most time with after all. So he should have been the one who knew her most.
After he responded from her little prank, she stood up and started looking around. "So, in your letter, you said the owner was Jeremiah... Jenkins right? Think he still remembers? What if he forgets and thinks he is a customer. The horror. That would be so much work." She started sulking at the idea. While looking around the heard of drinks, waiters, and possible rouges, she discover a man who looked a bit confused. It reminded her a boy somewhere where they were not suppose to be and separated from their parents. "I think that might be him... I never seen an older man so nervously lost at a tavern. Its like he is screaming he does not belong. I hope he still has some memory." The girl weasel through the every moving crowds, careful not to both bump anyone and make them spill their drink or get any drinks spilled on her from anyone who, as maria would put it, bump themselves. Upon reaching the man, she was greeted with what she could say was a first.
"Oh, hi umm... pretty cool being in a Tavern like this am I right? Think we can sneak some beers. Oh that reminds me, Have you seen my significant other?"
Maria froze, dropping her smile for just a moment. The man just evolved from his nervous wreck a mischievous boy. Then he reached his final evolution as an adult. She was baffled at the sheer... dissonance in that one line. She chuckled and returned smile.
"You know... you sound like your married." "Yeah yeah, I am or... was. I had a wife. She was very beautiful. So kind. Always supportive." "Well, yeah so. That means your probably like... old enough to drink right?" "Well of course. I'm 30 you know." "Right... so then you don't need to sneak beers... You can order some your self."
The man gave a hardy laugh. "But of course. I own the place though so I shouldn't be drinking on the job."
"Ah so your Mr. Jeremiah Jenkins." If Thaddeus was not next to her by now, she would turn to him and start waving him over. "Come on Thaddeus, while he is normal and not trying to get me in trouble with his delusions of being a teen."
It would be at this point that the girl would let Thaddeus take the league. Cause if she kept talking, she would probably just unknowingly go into bullying him. It probably was not nice, but it was so easy. And well, she was not here to bully a client.

As this cousin of his had begun to meander on over to him, the Spring Deacon would begin to offer her a smile. "Well hey there kidd-" Everything would seemingly stop for the dwarf as his cousin would offer him a slight curtsy and a ridiculously formal greeting. Almost immediately, the smile would depart from the mans face. "...what are you doing? Deacon Thaddeus? Don't exactly recall you ever really speaking to me like this. Not even when we had that second meeting of ours, back at the Wilhelm Manor." If he were being honest with himself, the entire thing had made him a bit uncomfortable. Why was it that she was acting this way? Perhaps she was being affected by the temporal magics as well, in the time that she was waiting? If so, that would certainly be an issue.
It was then that his cousin would allow for a slip up in her personality. The façade would slip away as the truth beneath would slowly break through. "Right, of course. I wouldn't exactly suggest falling asleep within a tavern though. Especially not one that is currently under investigation for being affected by temporal magics." A soft shrug would be offered in response to this as the two had continued to converse. "Yeah, Jeremiah Jenkins. We are supposed to help him for a few shifts or so, given that his memory isn't exactly the best at the moment. I guess that all we can hope for at the moment is that his memory hasn't deteriorated as far as you are suggesting."
Once Klara had begun to make her way through the crowded tavern and towards a man whom she had assumed was Mr. Jenkins, Thaddeus had decided that he would follow after her. While it wasn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to keep up with her, given that there had been so many people in the way, the two would eventually find themselves beside an older gentleman. Thankfully this had been exactly the man that they had been seeking out. Jeremiah Jenkins. "Mr. Jenkins, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." While the iron was hot, Thaddeus had decided to strike. The spring priest would go as far as to reach his hands out so that he could shake the mans hand. "My name is Thaddeus and I have been sent here by the Church to assist your business for a few shifts." Admittedly, Jeremiah couldn't exactly remember why it was that this man was coming out to help. Figuring that he might as well take on any free help that was offered though, the man would simply nod along.
"Right, of course... I'll only really need help for a couple of shifts. Do either of you know how to make drinks? Or cook?" While Thaddeus couldn't exactly say that he was the best at mixing drinks, he was certain that he could cook. As a Deacon, it was quite often that the dwarf would actually find himself throwing together some meals for the denizens of Nairn, whether that be the orphans in the Church or simply those that were in need. "Yeah, I know how to throw a few things together." Turning towards his cousin for a moment, Thaddeus would tilt his head off to the side. "How about you, Klara?" At this point, Jeremiah would nod along. "If you can't do either of those things, I am sure that you can at the very least take orders and bring some food out." The duo would wait to see what kinds of things the younger dwarf was capable of before the tavern owner would depart. His mind was beginning to wander and it was clear that the dwarven duo was going to have to try and kick things off on their own. "We'll just have to give it our best. If you need any help than be sure to let me know... Let us get started."

Thaddeus had a negative reaction to her little joke. That much was expected but this was a little much given how overly polite she was trying to be. Was she losing her edge for messing with people. Maybe it was just that everything was serious without being serious. It sounded complicated but it simply meant that it was not fun. She looked up smiling, though it was a bit forced now. "I'm only joking Thaddeus... cause you made me wait so long. I know you guys don't normally do that formal stuff." She forced a giggled in hopes of keeping the atmosphere still fun but she doubted Thaddeus wanted to play any more so she would leave him alone.
Her siblings would have gotten the joke.
Thaddeus quickly took the lead as Maria expected him to do. He was more orderly and was already inspiring strong figure despite his height. Rumor had it, he would be getting promoted in the church soon. Imagine, him getting promoted before she even got into the Magic Knights. She was the only one who was not establish in anything still after so long. The girl felt her smile break from genuine playfulness to something forced. The longer she stood in her mind, the harder it became to keep up the facade. However, Thaddeus like a shiny knight came to scare away the dragons which held her in thought with his holy sword, a simple question.
"Oh, um... I tried cooking once. It was a bit difficult for my taste. So I suppose, I'll just help with the drink thing. That looks way more fun anyway. Plus, you need a cute 'fun' face to greet people anyway."
It was at this point that Maria phased back into the rustling crowd before anyone could object. Her playful smile dropped back to a forced one as she made her way to the bar. Mixing drinks sounded more fun anyway. Once she was behind the bar, she walked up to it to get a gauge for how much shorter she was compared to it. Then she went around back. It was here she would get every short persons bestfriend, a crate to stand on. With that she tested it at the bar and it was... unfortunately too small. So she had to make another trip back and grabbed a bigger one. With that new addition, she was finally tall enough to serve people. Now it was time for the next step.
The girl went to the back and found the book of recipes for the drink list and how to make them. It was at this point that she sighed. There were a lot of drinks but well, she would do it for the job and to stay out of the kitchen. So she placed the book behind the counter and then changed her outfit to better resemble a bartender. Unlucky for her most of everything was too big but she had an idea. With her cloak, she put on one of the short sleeve and use her cloak to hide the bagginess. With that the outfit was complete and she was ready to serve.
At first, most of the people were just ordering water, unsure what to do with this girl dragging her crate around and tending to anyone brave enough to approach the bar. However, the first drink order would come and now it was time for the girl to perform. With the instruction and ingredients poured into cups she Pushed them over to her spot. Now she had to do a trick. So she threw the liquid into the air and caught it, mixed another liquid in then poured it into a mixer. Shook it around over her head and then poured it over 4 cups to create the 4 shots order. Everyone around her went silence.
Then they cheered shouting that the bar was finally open!

Not wishing to waste any time, once Klara had headed off for her own little tidbit of assistance, Thaddeus would head off towards the kitchen. There weren't a wealth of things that he had known how to make but there was something that he had specialized in. A dish that was passed down within certain elements of the Church of Gnome.. A dwarven cuisine that was simply known as 'Gnomish Tide-Me-Overs'. It was a delectable meal that he had often tried to make for those that he was serving, whenever he could afford the time, and thankfully this had been one of those moments. Having made it to the kitchen, Thaddeus would have to roll up his sleeves. "I guess that it's time for me to get started."
Now that he had been standing about within the kitchen, Thaddeus would proceed to gather the various ingredients that he had needed for the dish. For a single meal, he was going to need to gather a quarter cup of heavy cream, an egg, two slices of rye bread, three tablespoons of unsalted butter, a smell yellow onion, some kosher salt, a quarter teaspoon of ground allspice, eight ounces of ground pork, eight ounces of lean ground beef, freshly ground black powder, two tablespoons of all-purpose flour, a cup and a third of low sodium chicken broth, a single teaspoon of light brown sugar, a teaspoon and a half of soy sauce, a teaspoon and a half of fresh lemon juice, and finally three tablespoons of finely chopped parsley. Of course he would also need to gather the various cooking implements that were necessary to the recipe. And of course, given
Once he had everything that he had set out for, Thaddeus would toss the cream and egg into a rather large metal bowl. Afterwards he would whisk it together before proceeding to add in the bread. After mixing the ingredients together, for about twenty minutes or so, Thaddeus would set the bowl off to the side. He would than take a fork and begin to mash the bread over and over until it had become a paste that was also set to the side. Given that there was going to be a bit of time in between everything, Thaddeus would work alongside the other chefs to melt the butter and eventually kind of throw the rest of the ingredients together. The whole process, even with the other chefs working alongside him, would ultimately take about forty five minutes for the entire thing to become complete.
Eventually various replicas of the dish that he would make would come out as well. Alongside the other staff, he would ensure that each patron would leave with a mouth full of these delectable meatballs. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world, given that this wasn't exactly an environment that Thaddeus had been all that used to, but he would eventually get the hang of it. And once every one of these patrons had been fed and the shift would come to an end? Well it was quite clear that this was going to take a couple more runs. "I suppose that we'll have to stick around for a bit Klara."

Being a bartender while being so short was a hassle. She would have to move her box to greet each customer but the crowd managed with the slight delay. If anything they found it funny. It was more annoying for Maria but the girl managed to keep smiling and keep it to herself. After all, if all these people were happy, then she was doing a good job. That being said, she did wish the box had wheels or it was safe to walk along the counters. With spilled liquids, not a lot of footing, and her makeshift uniform, it just wasn't a good idea to push her luck that far.
There was another problem too. Some of the customers had memory loss which was weird. Like, everyone seemed fine when they entered but every so often, someone would go into an episode acting younger or looking for strangers. It was at this point that Maria was starting to see the true and frighting issue with this temporal stuff. Then a thought entered her head. Was the magic that curse this area still active? Could they forget stuff as well? Why was she here as a bartender? She did not see her siblings but another customer pulled her out of her head.
After hours of work, the girl was exhausted. It was kind of weird because she never really let her training get to her but something about this work was just tiring. Not to mention, a bunch of thoughts that she never really had kept entering her head. "Hey Thaddeus, I think I will head out now. I done my part and well... its not my goal to be a barkeep. Not enough punching for me haha."
With that she returned her clothes to their normal way of dress and headed out. She was not going to wait for... wait. Was there someone she was suppose to wait for? The girl shrugged her shoulders and just kept walking. Only now she had a very cocky grin on.
