NPC Information:
Ilhiana Vones, archeology aficionado, ex-model and previous member of the Coral Peacocks stands tall at 5’6 ft. and adorns a rustic white button up and a pair of leather shorts. She carries with herself a basic short sword and a magical whip that she’s always ready to use when danger comes. The brown-haired woman is currently in her early forties but looks about 30, perhaps because she’s a skilled illusionist and user of Solar Magic, or perhaps because she loves to exercise in her free time.
Vones has long brown hair and amber eyes. She enjoys educated conversation and strongly dislikes people who fake their interest in archeology. The Magic Knights will see her tossing “fakers” outside of “Da Inn”.

After leaving the Grand Magic Archives Charles made his way to through the Royal Capital alongside the Captain of the Golden Dawn, Zaven Blake. Having heard that the tryouts being held at a place inside the Royal Capital called 'Da Inn.' He has never gone to the place before, this was his first time in the Royal Capital so he didn't know the places around. Thankfully he had Captain Zaven with him after all, his Squad's Headquarters are located at the Royal Capital. It was highly likely he will know about the place and where it is. Looking at Zaven as they walked down the streets, he decided to ask him a question. "Captain, do you know a place called Da Inn? Apparently that's where the tryouts to join the crew is being held." He asked, he was in the Golden Dawn and has lived here for quite some time so it was very likely he at least had heard of the place.
Sometime later they managed to arrive to Da Inn where the tryouts where being held. Upon arrival Charles and Zaven were able to see that they were people from multiple Magic Knight Squads trying out for a chance to join the Archaeology crew. This surprised him, it seemed like it wasn't going to be easy to have a shot to get in, well maybe at least for Charles. Captain Zaven wouldn't have much of an issue as a protector, he is a Captain, after all, having a Captain inside an Archaeology crew will be an invaluable asset, he was sure anyone will know that. On the other side, Charles will need to put some effort if he wanted a shot into being in the crew, to be fair it was one of the few missions he had an interest in doing. This type of mission was rare so he might as well try otherwise he will lose his chance. He obtained a decent amount of knowledge from reading and he possessed a higher amount of intelligence for his age. Intelligence wasn't everything, more experience Magic Knights or people who have previously been in archaeology missions had a bigger shot at joining. Charles wasn't very experienced and was just a Junior Magic Knight.
Upon their arrival, this shouldn't have been shocking for him. Everyone was focusing on the two on them, actually more on the Golden Dawn Captain than Charles, it was impossible to not gather the attention of people. Charles wasn't someone who liked gaining attention, but well it was inevitable when you have a Captain accompanying you. "Well we are here." He sighed as they were now inside Da Inn. Seems like they will have to look for Ilhiana to gather more information, it wouldn't be bad to know more about the possible mission they were going to. The more information the better, this will give Charles a better idea of what to expect if he managed to stop being lazy and get into the crew. It was his chance to prove that he was more than just a lazy bastard not only to others but to himself.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] After getting the info that he needed so that they could go to their meeting, he expected a warm welcome when he arrived at the office of Ilhiana Vones, but instead was faced with an angry as hell secretary whom Zaven calmed down with a bit of smooth talking and a promise of an exotic gift from their new expedition. Stepping out of the office and out of the Grand Archives they had a new destination...Da Inn. A really original name for a place that functioned more as a meeting spot for lovers and loners...he really was not one to judge so he made his way there, Charles asked him a question, about the Inn they were going to. [break][break]
“To be honest, yeah...I know about it. The place is usually like a lovers hotel or a place where loners go to enjoy the atmosphere of love...or lust...or desperation, hmmmm...maybe all three. The thing is, I have seen several of those Inn’s...it is like they operate as a bar chain here in Clover. Really popular place overall, so this is probably going to be a crapshoot.” He said as they rounded a corner to reveal a large manor looking building, with hinged windows and even a front porch. It looked nice from the outside, almost too nice, but that reality was shattered when a very attractive female launched a man that looked to be double Zaven’s size out onto the street with a single crack from her whip. “Well..this is going to be fun.” Zaven would say before he looked back at Charles, waving for him to follow him as he did not wait for the line as he walked up to the door. When the bouncer looked at Zaven, all the captain did was give a sideways glance towards the doorman and he was let in without much fuss, albeit some groaning from the Magic Knights and other couples, who were furious about the development. When they were inside and Charles said his words, the captain ruffled the youth’s hair as he looked around the room before finding the same woman from earlier with ease, in a crowd of people as some ruckus was going on, apparently someone wanted on her crew so they challenged her to a strategic game and debate, the onlookers all were a bit bored by it but stayed and drank because of the beauty that was kicking everyone's ass was continuing her streak. Zaven looked at Charles before weaving his way to the crowd. “I know how we are getting in.” He said as he got to the crowd and then stopped. “I will challenge her to a drinking contest, if I win...we will finish filling the crew she has and we will explain that we are both on protection duty...how does that sound?” He asked Charles, wanting his opinion.

Hearing what the Captain of the Golden Dawn had to say about the place they were going in by the name of the Inn. Since it was the first time ever in the Royal Capital he had no clue of the places that were in it. It's not every day you get to go to the Royal Capital, especially if you are a commoner. Surprisingly enough for Charles, he was having a good time with Captain Zaven, despite being a Noble he didn't really go around mentioning he was a Noble, even more, due to the fact he's a Captain. "Oh, I see. Well, I'm not surprised those types of Inns are famous around Clover, after all, they attract loners and couples alike. It's a good way to gain profit." Charles nodded and simply followed Captain Zaven, he knew the place more than he did and it seemed like he knew what he was doing, so he didn't question it. Not really caring about the other couples and Magic Knights who were lining around. Well, he was with a Magic Knight Captain, which is something unusual. Magic Knights Captains are usually well known inside the Kingdom of Clover.
As they were inside he noticed how it appeared to be a ruckus inside the room they were in. People debating and arguing, it seemed interesting. Even though Charles wasn't self-aware of that. He was someone very reasonable and ended up destroying people in arguments and debates back at his village, something not expected from someone with his personality and attitude. The young Magic Knight raised an eyebrow the moment Zaven looked at him. Hm? How? He asked, somewhat curious about what the Captain had in mind. "Beat her in a drinking contest?" Charles was confused, this was very unexpected, he never thought someone like Captain Zaven will say that he was the Captain of the Golden Dawn. This reminded him of his own Captain, Malcolm. Then again it made sense for him that Malcolm and Zaven had some sort of relationship, so it kind of made sense for him at the end of the day. "I'm not a very good protector myself, but if you think you can do it, be my guest, Captain." He said, if Zaven was able to beat the woman to let them into the crew then it will be great, he wouldn't have to do any sort of effort to get in, which for Charles was amazing, if he had to do less effort for something, it was highly welcomed. Well, he knew he will have to do some sort of effort eventually, but not doing anything at the moment was welcomed for someone as lazy as Charles. "I'm curious how this will end up." For some reason he was curious to see how it will go. It's not every day you see a drinking contest like that, even though there's a good amount of people in the Black Bulls that drink. "I think I understand why Captain Malcolm and you were able to get along, sort of, I guess."
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing Charles talk about the relationship between Malcolm and Zaven and then saying that the drinking contest was going to be interesting made the man smile. He did not know exactly what Malcolm had told his members about Zaven, he assumed it was not much. He just nodded to Charles before moving to the table, pushing the one that already lost the debate from the discussion as he plopped down in the seat. ”Alright...well these chairs...could be better, but here we go. Ilhiana...I wish to get on your crew for your new expedition. I see that people are lining up to get in, and there are two spots left. It just so happens that the Golden Dawn and Black Bulls have a vested interest in the expedition...If I can outdrink you, me and the Black Bull here…” Zaven points to Charles as the crowd parted for the kid. ”Then we get those last two spots. Sounds like a deal right?” Zaven asked as Ilhiana looked at the two of them with a very scrutinizing look. Then she gave a smirk and whistled as a bigger man came up and she introduced the man as the crew captain. Zaven smirked for a moment before giving a sigh and then looking to Charles. ”This is going to be easier than I thought. [break][break]
It did not take long as the two men had finished off an entire barrel of the bar’s finest ale, the barkeep was furious, but also ecstatic to have such a wild crowd buying booze at this hour. He switched them over to cheap swill that when drunk both men looked at each other and said at the same time. ” I’D RATHER LICK THE BOTTOM OF A BOAT THAN DRINK THIS SHIT!” The men were rowdy as laughter broke out. Then they continued until they reached the bottom of the barrel, the captain eventually could not handle the booze and passed out onto the table which broke under the pressure of the big man. ”Well shit...looks like we did it...NEXT ROUND ON THE GOLDEN DAWN!!!” The now very happy Zaven Blake said as he had unbuttoned a portion of his top and held his hands in the sky. The bar erupted into a great Clamour as Ilihana would approach Charles.

Charles followed Zaven and stayed behind him. He didn't need to do anything, just watch. He didn't know how good Captain Zaven's drinking skills were, but if he had enough confidence to do that, then it probably meant they were good, right? After all, it seemed like him and Malcolm were friends by the looks of it. The Captain of the Black Bulls was a drinker, everything was starting to make sense to him, sort of. As he saw Captain Zaven making a deal with Ilhiana, he simply looked around. As Captain Zaven turned to him saying it was going to be easy. All Charles thought its that better be easy otherwise, it will be a pain in the ass for him to do something else to get in or possibly look for another mission. He already spent his time in the Archives and he wasn't going to let that time go to waste.
After he saw the two men go at it with their drinks, he never thought he will see a Captain, especially the Captain of the Golden Dawn in a drinking contest with some random guy he met. It seemed like life was full of surprises and this was one of them. The commotion inside the bar was felt, he didn't know what worse the commotion made back at the Black Bulls HQ or here... It was hard for him to tell the difference. As time passed, it seemed like Captain Zaven ended up winning. At the end to no one's surprise, it appeared that Captain Zaven ended up succumbing to the effects of alcohol. Charles was satisfied as he didn't have to do anything, but just watch a bunch of adults get drunk in order for him to enter the crew. Of course, this wouldn't have been possible without the help of Zaven.
Eventually, Charles turned around to see Ilhiana approaching where he was. It appeared that she kept her promise and allowed both of them as part of the crew. "Well, I wasn't expecting to end up joining the crew this way, but it works for me. It was one of the few missions that really got my interest." He said speaking to Ilhiana afterward, she proceeded to give him the details of the mission. Which day will they depart and where will they be heading. What is to be expected, etc. This maintained Charles's interest. He was going to go to a mission he had some interest in and wouldn't be yelled at by Captain Malcolm for slacking off too much at the base. "Alright then. I'll make sure to be there." He spoke in a well-mannered voice. He was satisfied that he didn't have to do a lot to get into a crew other than just watch the Captain of the Golden Dawn get drunk. So he felt quite happy, mainly due to the fact that he didn't have to put a lot of effort. He had no reason to ask in a monotonous matter as he usually does.
After talking with Ilhiana about the details of the archaeology mission he made his way where Captain Zaven was. He didn't knew what to expect, as drunk can people can be very unpredictable, the least he could do is be cautious. As he got close to Zaven, Charles tapped his back. "I already spoke to Ilhiana, Captain. We are both in the crew now, she also gave me the date and time." He sighed, he hoped that he doesn't have to end up carrying him back to the Golden Dawn Headquarters. That will surely be awkward, a young Black Bull arriving to the Golden Dawn Headquarters carrying their drunk Captain.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Hearing from Charles that they were apart of the expedition crew Zaven just let out a very happy “WOOOOOOOOOO!” As he laughed and drank some more of that shitty tasting ale that the bar was serving. He finished his drink before pushing one mug into the Black Bull’s hands. He was passed another two rounds before raising his mugs high up into the air. ”ALRIGHT YOU FUCKS! A TOAST...hic” He started off as the whole bar kind of grew quiet for once at his booming voice. He then pointed at Charles and announced to the entire bar ”THIS LITTLE BASTARD HAS DID IT! HE HAS FOUND LOVE BEFORE ALL OF US AND WILL BE GETTING MARRIED IN A FEW DAYS!!! I GET TO BE THE BEST MAN!!! TO LOVE, HAPPINESS, AND ANOTHER ROUND ON ME!” The shadow of dawn had obviously had too much to drink at this point, he drank both mugs of the piss poor ale at the same time before slamming them down on a nearby table and roaring with a cheer. Thge bar was now clearing out of the couples or the ones looking for a quick score as the rowdy bunch decided to show up and join in as the bar soon reached a full capacity. It was a fucking madhouse, and even though they were now on the crew...the Golden Dawn Captain was about to drink this fucking place dry.
A few hours later
Zaven did in fact drink the place dry...the barkeep kicked everyone out and told the Golden Dawn captain specifically to never come back due to the ruckus he caused...yet the man still enjoyed his yul...This left Zaven in Charles’s care… The end of the night. Hopefully the Golden Dawn Captain could sober up and find his way home. ”Gud, Jub oot thar ‘day...hic…” The captain said as he tried to give the young kid a shoulder pat, instead finding the top of a trash can. He was in no condition to walk back to his base much less a fucking hotel.

It appeared that Captain Zaven was really excited and happy over the fact they were going to the expedition. Sure, those were good news, after all not everyone who had the change to go an archaeological expedition. This will probably a unique for Charles and maybe even for Zaven as well. As he saw the mug passed to him, he simply denied the request. He was too young and didn't like the idea of drinking alcohol, he will probably end up like Mr. Golden Dawn Captain over there. Just as Captain Zaven started a toast for Charles's accomplishment how he said was the most unexpected thing. "What the actual..." He was extremely confused about what Zaven just said. Did he just say that he was getting married? He was too young to get married and he had no interest in getting married, at least now. He had no interest in anyone in particular. It was very clear that the Captain of the Golden Dawn drank enough alcohol for the day. He was starting to mix up the details. The place, in general, was a mess, and at this point, Charles was just starting to get annoyed, this wasn't the first time he had to witness a bunch of drunk people in front of him making a huge mess. At this point, he wouldn't be surprised if they all got kicked out for making a lot of mess.
He simply sighed, he had to wait until Captain Zaven was done with drinking so he could leave the place. Since it appeared they weren't going to finish in just a few minutes. Charles decided to order something to eat while he waited. Getting something to eat while he waited was a bad idea at all, at least it was better than just seeing a group of men drink over the news that he was getting married, even though that wasn't what he told Zaven in the first place.
A few hours later...
It appeared that Zaven and the rest of the men he was making a huge ruckus with managed to get everyone kicked out of the bar. At least Charles managed to eat his food before getting kicked out. He was just glad all of that was over, or so he thought. Until he realized Zaven was with him. As Zaven gave him a pat on the shoulder he realized he was in terrible condition and will probably end up in the street. Charles just looked at Zaven was a very bored and disappointing look. "Goddammit... Now I carry this drunk guy to his base. No wonder why he got along with Captain Malcolm..." It seemed like the lazy Black Bull was going to have to carry the Captain of the Golden Dawn all the way back to his Headquarters. Thankfully, the Headquarters were located inside the Royal Capital. So he eventually did what he had to do and started making his way there holding Zaven with one of his shoulders, this was probably one of the most annoying things Charles has ever done on his life.
