[attr="class","ardereescroll"]OOC: This is the introduction post. You only need to make one post, but it is basically just solidifying your entrance into the exams and locking your stats/spells. You have until the end of the day on May 9th to post here. That being said, have fun!) [break][break] Ardere was the first to arrive at the exam grounds. Normally this was highly unlike him, but as of recent he had made it his goal to change a few things. He had asked Lydia to come as well and was sure she would arrive soon, but he had requested she make sure everything was good at the squad base first. And he knew she would. But this was his first exams in quite some time, and he wanted to do it right. He wanted to make sure that he left a lasting impression on the newbies. Even if he wasn't back to one hundred percent, he was going to try his hardest to bring out every ounce of energy within him. Taking a deep breath, he walked up to the Captain and Vice Captain only spectator area. Looking at their seats, he walked over to the middle one where he was sitting. Running his hands across the primed wood, it was smooth. He did not sit down though, not yet. He merely looked out into the arena. He remembered when he was standing in that arena, and Lysander looked down at him. He took some tiny angry teenager and made him into one of the strongest warriors in the kingdom. For that, he was eternally grateful. But now it was his turn once again to see if there were any hidden gems out there. [break][break] Waiting for the other Captains to arrive, the Arena doors began to open. Participants were allowed to enter the arena and wait until an announcement was made. Slowly, the mages began to pour in. Ardere would wait until they all arrived. Giving his greeting to other Captains and Vice Captains, he took another breath. Looking down into the arena as dozens began to slowly pour in, it was a smaller crowd than usual. It wasn't completely unexpected. Things had gotten quite complicated lately. Being a Magic Knight came with a new set of duties now. The Daemon and their kind posed a threat unlike anything this generation had faced. But they had strength. They had some hope left. The Crimson Lions Captain standing there with his titanic red and gold cape, lined with fur, looked down upon them. Once they all arrived, he made his announcement. [break][break] Ardere stood at the center of all of the Captains, looking down at the participants. Many faces, young and old stood in front of him. Welcome. He called out. You all know why you are here. You wanna be Magic Knights, right? He went on. I stood there once where you were, when I weighed 160 lbs soaking wet, and I just wanted to scream and punch things. Yeah I stood right there. But I did become a Magic Knight, and I'm here right now. He bit the inside of his cheek a bit. I know some of you are scared. I'm scared too. The Shatter and the Daemon, it's scary right? But together, we can be strong. Together we can protect the people we love. If you didn't think that, then you wouldn't be here, would you? He stood there in silence for a moment. Looking down at his feet, he chuckled to himself. Then he looked back at the participants, a red aura glimmering across his body. Then let's get started! This will be divided into three parts. The first part is testing your magical abilities. Each one of you will be given a specific amount of time to display your magical capabilities to us. For those of you who need a bit more space for that, or endanger the arena, we have a special place just outside to allow you to exhibit your full abilities. That may or may not be used, but the option is there. Part two you will be given a set of missions to complete. We will monitor these missions and assess your magical abilities, combat awareness, and teamwork capabilities. Now the third part is entirely optional, and that is sparring. You do not have to spar if you do not wish, but it will gain you significant favor with the Captains. That being said, let the Exams begin! Ardere nodded, and then he sat back down with the Captains. A sweat broke across his brow. He looked over to Lydia for affirmation, having used up most of his social energy he had. It was difficult, but he had done it. Now, he could relax.

Today was the day, and honestly, he was excited about it. There were going to be a bunch of new mages that would appear in the exams, which meant it would be more recruitments to the knights. The noble had been waiting for this and he couldn’t wait to see how things would go. The Krane had prepared himself as always as he left the base wearing his mantle that stopped right by his chest, which allowed him to show off all of his tattoos that were on his upper body. His mantle didn’t dawn a robe on the back as he found it useless and it would hide the tattoos on his back. Of course, he wasn’t alone as his retainer would come with him to the exams. Kouhei was the acting Vice-Captain until one suited for the job would come along and take it from him.
Yuurei and Kouhei would arrive at the exam grounds without having to stress themselves on their travel. It was fairly easy, and when they arrived Yuurei would only chuckle when he saw the area that they had done the exam. This was a nice place to display their skills, and when he did that, the wind mage had to hold back quite a bit. He could only wonder who else would be a shiny star throughout the exams. He could see that he wasn’t the first to arrive and that the captain of the Crimson Lion was in the Captain and Vice-Captain area already. The noble would get up to the spectator area as Kouhei would watch him from where he was.
“We could have used the stairs.” He said to himself as he had done the same thing Yuurei would do.
Reaching the area where the captains would be sitting wasn’t a problem and with that Yuurei would be standing on top of the ledge as he would see Ardere and he would have a huge smile on his face. The two would greet each other, which would bring the young captain to turn his back and sit on the ledge for a bit. His legs kicking back and forth as he was waiting for the mages to come to the stadium.
“Yuurei, do you think you should be on the ledge?” He asked his cousin.
“I know, but I want to see the cool mages as they come into the stadium.” He said this with a smile on his face.
He stood quietly as he looked at the individuals that came inside. His eyes scanned through the group of mages and he had could see that there were a few of them that he knew. His smile would go to a specific person, but he wasn’t sure if they would be interested in joining him again. Kouhei wasn’t too keen on looking at the people here as he didn’t care too much about this even as he walked by the seat that Yuurei should be sitting in.
Yuurei would hear Ardere speak up and he would forget that he was really young and that in many people’s eyes he was still new within the Knights. His feats were what made up for it, but his time spent in the organization was different.
“I can’t wait to see how this goes. There is going to be a lot of cool magic, I can tell already.” He said out loud as he got up from the ledge as he stood on it and jumped off.
He would bring himself to his chair and he would sit down as he would look over to the examinees.
“She is here Kouhei, but I doubt she will be returning to us. Unless a miracle happens, but we will see. I doubt people could tell it’s her, hell I don’t think you could.” He said to his cousin as Kouhei looked at the exam grounds.
He knew who he was talking about, but couldn’t see her, so he chose not to care if she didn’t want to appear to them.
Yuurei would get a slight headache though as visions would appear within his head. It was more memories that were crawling inside of him.
[attr="class","zavenreescroll"] Zaven was the next captain to arrive, second only to Ardere who seemed to wait at the coliseum. He walked up the steps alone, he came to the event by himself as he has for the past three times. He remembered coming to the last one when Arthurius was alive...when Silas was alive. He wanted to reach for that flask of his, a habit...but as he discovered soon after going through the Coral Peacocks owned dungeon he found that he had given that flask to Rosalia and had not asked for it back. He did not want it back, he had to move forward so that the next time something like this happened...it was not another one of his friends that met their maker. [break][break]
Stepping into the terrace that overlooked the main area of the examination arena he gave Arere a wave before taking his seat next to the man that was as close as a brother to him as Silas was. He would of course wait for the other captains to arrive seeing Yuurei was also there he nodded to the man, never one to step on ceremony Ardere who had remained the captain the longest out of the current lineup decided to open ceremonies with a light speech, one that left a few people ready to fight, and others a bit worried. When Ardere sat down Zaven looked over at his friend with a smile. “You did well brother...now let the rest of us have a turn. This is going to be quite the turnout since we were in it in our years right?” He would say before looking at Lydia if she was there. “A pleasure to meet you, you must be the Vice Captain...I would love to have a drink with you sometime.” He would say before standing up and looking out amongst the examine attendants. [break][break]
“Welcome to the Magic Knight Exams, like Captain Ardere said...we are here to assess your talents both individually and as a group. We hold high hopes in you, the very future of Clover. So do your best, I...the Shadow of Dawn, Zaven Blake the captain of the Golden Dawn will also be looking for those of you that are cunning, loyal, and show dominance in the field of battle.” Zaven finished before sitting back down, looking to see if any other captains or vice captains arrived yet and if they would say a few words.

Post by Malcolm Watanabe❃ on May 5, 2020 16:23:49 GMT -5
Malcolm was one to step on ceremony when it came to things such as these...he hated having to get out among the people if he did not have to, but as a favor to Jagen...and as a duty to his family, the Black Bulls...he was going to go to another one of these Magic Knight Exams. He dressed in his best version of a suit that he could find. It looked like a royal knight’s garb, but the patches and adornments from several battles revealed it to be his old mercenary clothes.
He let Rosalia know he was taking her sometime earlier that week, and again when the base was empty when she came up to his office for a book. They were heading to this shindig whether they liked it or not. He had contacted Zaven Blake and had the captain of the Golden Dawn secure two seperate rooms at a swanky hotel for the two Black Bulls, and earnestly he was ready to go when he saw that the hotel reservations were for two suites at the Gilded Swan hotel. Complimentary bar and all on the Golden Dawn’s tab, Zaven was close friends with Malcolm after all...and drinking buddies...and rivals...fuck he hated that guy.
Going down to Rosalia’s door he would knock before telling her to be ready in five that they were heading out. Then he would go downstairs and find the portal mage that was given to him...the squad...he signed up with the squad. The man was eager to go with the captain, but Malcolm denied him, telling him to stay and spar with Chisana in his absence. Once Rosalia would join him he would get going as they would arrive just outside the coliseum.
”God...another year already and we are here again.” He would reach in his jacket and take out an old flask and take a drink before looking at Rosalia. ”Let’s get going then, best not to keep the boy’s waiting.” Malcolm would open the terrace door leading up to the captain’s area. Once they were there he took a seat next to the Blake noble. ”Well, looks like I made it just in time to miss your speech and Ardere’s...Pretty boy over speak yet?” Malcolm would motion in Yuurei’s direction before exchanging the proper greeting with the Golden Dawn Captain, an exchange of liquor recipes. The men both nodded before pocketing the pieces of paper, Malcolm looked greedy and happy in that moment...He waved to the crowd before standing up.
”Do good, fight hard...come to the Bulls and become the best fighter I can make you. Malcolm smiled and then sat back down and looked to Rosalia to see what she thought. ”Gents...Rosalia, Rosalia...captains of the Clover Magic Knights...she is here with me as a future candidate for my Vice Captain...get used to seeing her.” He said in short as he waited for the show to begin.
It had been a short time since he had met a female of his age at a ceremony when he was granted his grimoire, he believed her name was Cinna but he honestly couldn't remember for certain nor could he recollect if she had told him her last name either, perhaps they would meet at another time; he'd like that a lot. There was still something he didn't understand and that was what was so important about a book? Regardless, he did find he enjoyed the feel of the cover though he had no idea what it looked like. He had sensed others had stronger magic than his but this meant nothing to him, strength could only go so far he was taught and people could only go far with brute strength if they didn't have the support healing.
"Do you remember what you were taught?"
"Of course I do! What kind of Morton do you take me for?!" the white-haired youth huffed crossing his arms not caring that people were looking at the odd teen as he had an outburst randomly.
"Do you really want an answer to that?"
"I hate you, you know that right!" he continued in the middle of the street, people anxiously giving him a wide birth not wanting to get caught up in whatever was going on.
"Calm yourself. You're making a scene."
"Well what do you expect with what he said?" he grumbled like a petulant child before sighing
"Don't let him get to you. And you should know better than doing that, you're an adult start behaving like one."
"He needs it every now and then and you know it. Tell us then Matray, what were you taught about attackers and support."
"Offense and support are two strands of the same thread, on their own they're weak but together they strengthen the other and fill the weaknesses the other might have and can complete tasks they otherwise couldn't." Advent had completely forgotten about the argument by that point and started looking around as if he was feeling something. His eyes going wide under his blindfold as he could feel some crazy power, a wide smile appeared on his face as he got excited even more.
"Don't do anything foolish Matray."
He was just about to open his mouth and say something when he heard some people running past him saying about some sort of exam and how they were going to be late. He was curious if this what the excitement was in the air and so ran after the two that ran past him wanting to know more. Soon he found himself in a line and walked forward slowly until he eventually got to the front and headed to the window.
"Name, home village and grimoire please." The man said politely. Standing before him was a male wearing a light blue uniform, long black hair, olive skin and grey eyes. He stood about six foot two inches and was in his mid-twenties.
"My name is Advent. I wasn't actually raised in a village, I was raised in a forest." he said holding out his grimoire to the man unsure why he would want to see it but he made sure to keep a hold of it.
With that, he was given a number and told to proceed forward into the arena, with a shrug he did as he was told, not quite realising he had just signed up to become a magic knight. Then again at this point, he had no idea what a magic knight even was. It wasn't something that was brought up as he was raised, mostly because the ones that raised him didn't expect him to ever leave the forest. Advent stood in the arena and heard few birds near him, unlike others they didn't seem to bother him whatsoever as he often birds just decide to perch on him. Advent was around five foot eight inches in height, holding an obvious athletic tone. His white hair sat loosely on his back moving with each subtle movement or breeze. His clothing was far more unique anyone that seemed to be their currently, he was wearing a unique black mandarin top with purple hems and fixtures. The left arm was completely covered by the fabric but the right arm had no sleeve to speak of, also the right side of his top was longer by a few inches than the left. The left hand seemed to have a purple sash attached to it making it even out. He wore a plain black pair of trousers and no shoes. Around his eyes, he had a black piece of fabric acting as a blindfold. Down his uncovered arm, purple glowing markings were easily seen, on his left breast there were again purple glowing runes that seemed to be on the clothing but if someone dared to get close they could see it was coming through his fabric, he had more of these glowing purple markings on the inner part of his feet. Quietly he listened to how others were nattering about what captain they found great and which squad they wanted to get into and such. Advent just found it dreary. He was about to go do something when he heard a voice from above talking about they all knew why they were there and how they all wanted to be magic knights. Advent just raised his hand without shame or concern of those looking at him.
"I have no idea why I'm here and no clue what a magic knight is, care to fill in the blanks for me?" he said honestly his voice completely transparent that he didn't have a clue of what was going on, not caring about the snickering or the gasps of horror of his statement.
Something that the man had said stuck with him 'Protect those we love...' he thought biting his lip releasing those he loved and cared for he where beyond protecting at this point, he himself had killed them at birth. The second part made him tilt his head, he was there purely out of curiosity. By now he had stopped paying attention and moving his head around as if he was looking for someone or something which was odd due to the fact he had his eyes covered.

[attr="class","florencetext"] Today was perhaps the biggest day for the magic knights of clover. After all it was the day of the magic knight exams which was when the squads got most of there members. It of course wasn't the only way to get into a magic knight squad but it was by far the most common way mages got in. Lydia had mixed feelings of the day on one hand she was excited to see what new members the crimson lions might score from the exams. On the other hand however she was nervous as Ardere asked her to attend the magic knight exams with him. Of course he asked her to make sure things were fine at the base before she actually showed up. It wasn't to hard after all the lions had Claire to defend the base while the two of them were out and she was no push over of a mage and was even blessed with a platinum grimoire and spatial magic. Even with having to wrap up things at the base she was still the second mage to arrive at the exams. It felt strange to her being back at this place after nine years yet here she was and not just that she was to be seated with the captains. A part of her felt like she wasn't worthy to sit with them sure she wasn't a push over of a mage but she was no captain and hadn't been a vice captain for that long. [break][break] She would take her seat next to Ardere and wait as the other captains and vice captains showed up. Even some non vice captains showed up which Lydia wasn't to pleased about as formality was a huge thing for her however she wouldn't say anything as it wasn't her place. She thought that all the captains were going to give a speech but that seemed not to be the case. Once Ardere sat back down she would smile at her captain. "It was good for the most part the only thing you left out was what we are looking for but I'm sure they can figure that out." However I feel like you shouldn't have told them you were scared of the looming threat yourself. After when the lower rank knights are scared they look up to us to be an unwavering beacon of hope. Then again lying isn't your style so it can be helped and who knows maybe I'm just talking out of my ass." As the black bull captain spoke Lydia could feel her eye twitching to say she was a little mad was an understatement. [break][break] At this moment she wished she had brought the wine with her however Ardere made her leave it back at the base. Lydia would then smile at the golden dawn vice captain. I wouldn't mind getting a drink with you perhaps after the exams. She would give Rosa a smile. It's nice to see you again Rosa sadly I was just leaving for a bit." She would then speak to Ard for a moment. I'm going to head down to where the other magic knights and citizens are to see if any other lions showed up if you need me for anything just feel free to give me a call. As she was leaving she would pull out a cigarette lighting it.

The Gillph's Family history is old and goes back to the 3rd age of the wizard king. The family originated from the Diamond Kingdom semi-near strong magic region protecting a library filled with legends, history on elves, and Dwarves but left their duty to the reasons unknown but kept some of the books from the library. After their relatives left the library they became farms and as the decades went by they soon learned to be merchants and traders. Also their magic became more related to legends and myths from their books from their history from the library. The Gillph house and other relatives have places in the city and common region for trades and homestead but the main heir to the household lives on the original farmlands that their ancestors built upon by the common region of Nairn. Now their land and community are part of a middle ground for trades between the Nobel and Common region.
Today was the day of the Magic Knight Exam, a day that Ashens finally feels like he's ready to go for. In preparation for going to the Colosseum where the Magic Knight Exam is being held, he was able to stay over at his family's side house in Kikka. As he was heading to the Colosseum his eldest brother, Kaisa surprised him.
"Kaisa, what are you doing in Kikka? I thought you had a Merchants Meeting back at the homestead?"
With a grin on his face he replies "Well I decided to move the meeting for next week because I wanted to make sure my little brother gets to the Magic Knight Exam on time."
"Thanks but no thanks Kaisa, I can make it there myself." As Ashens says that he moves around this brother and continues along his way to the exam. As he continues to walk, Kaisa catches up and walks alongside Ashens.
"Come on~ don't be like that Ashe, I came all this way for you."
Trying to look confident he hides his smile to his brother's gesture by swinging to his side and lets out a sigh.
"Fine, but please don't tell me where to go. I already figured my way around town the day before."
"No problem Ashe."
While walking with his brother they both started to discuss among various things like what does he expect from being a magic knight, what house he would like to be in and telling Ashens how proud he is to see his brother being the first in his family of merchants to become a magic knight. As long as Ashens knows his family has always been only merchants, traders, and mostly farm owners. Being the only one in his family trying to become a Magic Knight makes Ashens feel like he's straying from his family's tradition. Getting closer to the Exam and that thought circles around his mind, other doubts started to trail his mind.
In his mind "I'm ready for this? Is this what I really want to do in life? Will my family dislike me for not being like my brothers?"
His expression goes from being confident to a slight reconsidering look but while dwelling in thoughts his brother puts his hand on Ashen's head and starts ruffling his hair.
"Ashe... I may be out of the house a lot but I still know that worrying face of yours. Don't doubt yourself and remember mother and father both recommended you to join the knights. They want you to be the best you can be and here is your chance to show everyone that you can do something and be someone!"
As his brother finishes those words of confidence to Ashens he points at the registration desk as they have come to a stop at the Colosseum where the Magic Knight Exam is. Looking at each other, Kaisa gives Ashens a big smile and says "Don't worry I'll be supporting you from the sidelines and now good luck little brother." Then he pushes him towards the line and walks away with his hands in his pockets as he walks away to get to the spectator entryway.
After seeing his brother walk away after giving him a much needed reassured confidence boost a smile came back from his worried face and knowing that he had someone cheering him on, Ashens was ready to go in. When he finally reached the registration desk the person ask the desk looked up in a tired look and asked "Please say your name, town and show me your present grimoire."
"Ashens Gillph from the town of Nairn" after saying the introduction he showed his grimoire then was given a number and was instructed to head in and wait.
While the time passes as Ashens finally enters the Magic Knight Exam he can see various individuals, some worried, some confident and others quite unique as he sees one person strangely blindfolded But nonetheless the Exam continued and the announcement was made by a Magic Knight Captain. Hearing his words brought confidence to him and as the quote of protecting our loves came up his eyes trailed upwards trailing along with the spectator seats then stopped as he saw his brother's head poking out of the group. Now more than ever Ashens feels ready for the exam.

It has been a few months since Andras received his grimoire and soon word of the Magic Knights Exams are soon be taking place reached the small town of Sosshi. Eager to partake, he set off to the city of Kikka, the city where the Exams will take place. After several days of traveling with his father and his eldest sister, Andras finally makes it to the Exam Grounds. As soon as the registration desk is in view, Andras sees that there is no queue in front of it and it appeared to Andras, at least from a distance, to be ready to close up. Seeing the potential closing of the registration, Andras rushed to the counter, arriving just before the man behind the counter started to leave.
"Wait." Spoke the young teenager, panting and leaning over the counter, feeling as if he ran a kilometre. "I would...I would like..to register...for the exam" he spoke between each gasp for air. The man rolled his before returning to the desk, feeling somewhat frustrated by Andras tardiness. As he glared and the young fellow slowing returning to a regular breathing pattern, spoke with disdain in his voice.
"Name, town and present your grimoire".
"Andras Gandolfi. Sosshi village and here is my grimoire" The red-eyed boy answered, no longer panting, as he retrieves his grimoire from his belongings and presents it to the desk clerk. After a minute of looking at Andras' grimoire and completing the registration, the man at the desk hands the young man his grimoire and gives him his number, advising that if he is unlucky to need to return that he arrives on time. He heads to his father and sister waiting for Andras by the entrance of the courtyard. After wishes for good luck, hugs and some some finally words of encouragement, Andras makes his way to the arena.
Upon entering, Andras was hoping to see the faces of the two teens he met before, the hyperactive airhead Fuu and the tall dark and broody Chisana. But after a quick scan of the open area yielded no results. However his mood quickly changed to that of excitement to begin as the captains of the various Magic Knight squads make their entrances and addresses to the examines. Andras could not help but smile as he sees the captain of the Golden Dawn, the same man Andras had met not all that long ago. The spiky haired teen gives the dark haired captain a nod as a greeting, hoping that he was spotted among the crowd.
As soon as the speeches were over, Andras' excitement reach a peak and he is ready for whatever the exam entails.

carry me away
'CAUSE THERE'S MORE TO THIS BRAVE ADVENTURE THAN YOU'D EVER BELIEVE
Today was the day. Xiulan was perhaps far more jittery the previous night than she had any reason to be. She had spent so much of the night working on memorizing her spells. Of course, she knew that she didn't need to actually read the spells. She had spent enough time practicing with them to be intimately familiar with each one. But she still had all that anxious energy to burn off, so that had been how she had spent her night. Truthfully, she hadn't even really recognized how late it had gotten until it was time for her to head out. After all, the exam grounds had been created in the common realm this time, so she had gone through a pretty long trip. Admittedly, she did still feel a bit behind, when compared to the friend she had made in her family. Chisana had been advancing very quickly ever since he had arrived, to the point of having actually managed to end up in a Magic Knight squad without even needing to be here. It made her sad, really. She had hoped that she would at least have a friend here at the exams to watch her back. Still, she had to make due.
Still, she found herself nervous as she handed in her grimoire to be examined. She had always expected the exams to be some kind of grand affair with huge crowds. But, it just..wasn't. And many of them were wearing far more casual clothes. So for Xiulan to be standing amongst this small crowd, in a mid length, backless dress made of crimson colored silk and black trim..she stood out immensely. This whole scenario felt..off. It didn't match the stories she had heard. So she really couldn't help but feel the immense weight of the situation, even before the captains started talking. The first one to speak was the captain of the Crimson Lions. And of course, he had to mention the two events that were on everyone's minds: The Daemon and The Shatter. Ever since that event, something had felt off for her. But she had never been able to place it. Everything was just off. But today was not the day to think about that.
After all, the Captain of the Crimson Lions had made a good point. None of them would be here if they hadn't held a desire to protect everyone they knew. So, Xiulan nodded a bit as he finished his portion of the speech, inhaling slowly to calm herself down as her fingertips ran across the metallic cover of her grimoire, dipping into the odd divots in the cover that marked the flow of some odd energy when it opened up. It was an odd habit that she had picked up. But really, it helped to relax her when her anxiety actually became palpable. Still, she found herself looking around at the crowd. She didn't recognize any of the faces in the crowd. Well..if anything, that made sparring easier on her. She didn't have any disadvantage from anyone knowing anything about her..for now. But that was something that wouldn't last for long, and she knew it. At this point, she wasn't fully paying attention to what was being said by the captain of the golden dawn. Should she have been? As a noble, absolutely. But she was more focused on the events that were listed off. All that the captain had been saying was just rehashing things, and she was absolutely ready to get moving.

Finally the day has come for Alexander as he eagerly went down the trail. The training he got in and the expectations he is holding for this exam has him pumped. He got as much sleep as he could last night but he was mostly thinkin about who exactly is going to be there. Up until recently, he hadn't run into many magic knights on the grounds that he prefers to avoid trouble until prompted. Still, he can feel the energy as he gets closer and closer to the place. The town they announced was luckily one he was familiar with, it wasn't any problems in setting his trail as he took the scenic route to clear his mind.
The magic knight who recommended this thing while he was in Hage was on his mind. He asks himself why didn't he come to that same conclusion if that was the life he wished for. Was it because of the war? Possibly. The urge of becoming an aspiring knight was watered down by the ever so constant reality that his family may die to one. Still, at least he is doing this now rather than later for the sake of curiosity. He wonders who is going to be there? The possibility of them being stronger than him is a reality he fondly thinks of. But he kept himself up as he arrived at the town in question. He grabbed a few snacks on the way and then made his way over to registration. Taking his time he finished his food by the time he reached the front. Of course the person in front wasn't having it as he was staring at him as he finished his meal.
“Name, Place and Grimoire”
“Ah straightforward and to the point. Im going like this place already”
“Name Place and Grimoire”
“Don't get your pantaloons in a bunch. Alexander Valentine, Hage Village, and here is my Grimoire. Do I need to bow and walk like a lord as well along with this”, he joked as he was met with a glare by the man in question. Serious types like him need to chill out sometimes but he was of course working and he was not.
He simply shrugged off the hostility as he put his stuff in front of the man. Looking for various details about him then went as he proceeded as he waited a bit as he felt rather bored by this. A part of him wanted to rush on in as he found this part of the process rather boring. To the point where he gave a random town off the top of his head due to the fact that his original hometown burned down early the war; but he kept that detail his own secret as he just wants to get in already.
After that arduous process, he was given his grimoire and number and he was reluctantly ushered in. The man muttered some choice words under his breath that ticked him off a slight bit, but Alex responded by walking on in and used a pebble to mess with the guy on the way out. A single bottle was nearby and he used it to knock it over to startle the guy. He can hear another man yelling and bickering within ear shot as he walks off.
After that brief incident, he walked into the entrance of the courtyard and was met with a rather grand show. The stronger people were at the top looking down on them while various others were at the bottom. “So we're gonna fight in front of them like dogs? Lovely”, he joked to himself as he walked around to see the others. Not a single familiar face to his prediction but an interesting lot nonetheless. A few pretty faces to boot but he aint gonna try his luck in plain sight. But the show soon got started as the man in red began to walk to the center and give his speech. “Of course there's always a speech before this…”, he thought to himself as he leaned on a nearby pillar.
He kept an ear open but boy was he bored by the speeches; he was bored to death of them by the time he was old enough to hold a knife. But he listened nonetheless as he heard many interesting things during the speech. Something about Daemons and the Shatter, two things he heard scarcely of during his life due to the war but it was something to look into after this. Alexander perked up once he started to talk about the examinations and how it was split. Showing off his magic, assessing set magic and finally of course the optional but grand course sparring. There's a few people he wanted to fight in this place but he kept his cool as he didn't want to rush in too fast. But he has to make sure they're there first before he does anything.
But as the speeches finished up, he soon stretched up his arms and yawned. He was eager to get going and see what sort of trouble he could get into.

Ophelia was not sure what to expect. The Magic Knights Exam was not something that Silva family members are used to doing. In fact, Silva family members had historically not joined in any of the Magic Knights Exam. After all, they were of the Upper Nobility. And most of the time, Silva family members who decide on joining the Magic Knights are taken in by the Silver Eagles. At least, historically, it had been that way. Times are changing, however. The winds are blowing to and fro, and the directions are ever changing. The time when events were predictable was long gone. From what Ophelia had heard, there were troubles abound, and the Magic Knights needed to be prepared. For what? She did not know. [break][break]
The fan fare was quite a spectacle. People from all over the Clover Kingdom have gathered for this occasion. She knew from third hand accounts about how the common people usually swarm the Magic Knights Exams. The opportunity to become a Magic Knight was something that cannot be ignored, after all. How could they? Being a Magic Knight not only garnered one prestige, but also had steady pay, and gave them a roof over their heads. Even then, the common people knew how hard it was to qualify, and even then, it was much harder trying to impress each Captain enough to gain their vote. [break][break]
Ophelia took a deep breath. The Captains would have entered by now. With them, their Vice Captains. She would watch as a number of candidates made their way in as well. [break][break]
“Here goes nothing.” [break][break]
Ophelia strode in, her grimoire held in a belt-like harness on her left hip. Her dress was decent, and was only just above what some commoners could afford. She made sure not to stand out too much. Even as a Magic Knight Examinee, being pegged as an Upper Nobility might not end well for her, especially for those who might be looking to sabotage her chances. Lagging behind, and away from the rest of the examinees, she would make sure to stay hidden until warranted otherwise.
"Kukuku, looks like we made it just in time. A lady must always make an entrance after all!"
Flora floated into the room atop a broomstick that looked to be braided from her own hair. Sitting comfortably, the little witch crossed her arms and smirked proudly at the other assortment of Captains and Vice-Captains. Across her shoulders, Flora's Blue Rose mantle fluttered elegantly as she tossed her silver hair over her shoulder.
"Flora of the Witches' Forest, Vice-Captain and Callous Witch of the Blue Rose."
Flora bowed slightly to the others while grinning.
"Kukuku, and of course just behind me is... Captainnnnn Lazuliiiii!"
Flora clapped excitedly as she waited for her Captain to enter now that she had been announced. Having completed Captain Lazuli's properly and with much gusto, Flora moved to look on at the examinees. She would not address them. That was Captain Lazuli's job, still, she did have a say in who would end up taking the Blue Rose's mantle and so eyed each of the examinees carefully.
"Kukuku... quite the collection... I have to say though, kuku, I'm very excited! I remember back when I took the exams myself and of course was one of the best examinees during the whole exam, kuku! Of course I was still growing into my power so I wasn't as well practiced as some of the other people that joined with me, kuku, but that didn't matter so much. After all, kukuku, I was quite the spectacle if I do say so myself, kuku!"
Flora backed up and grinned.
"Kuku, Captain Lazuli... I think there may be some real potential in this group, kukuku. I'm excited to see them show us what they're made of!"
After Captain Lazuli would give her speech, Flora would float next to Lazuli's seat atop her broom opting out of the chair that had been placed for her.
"A true witch is most comfortable on her broom, kuku."
As Flora scanned the group, she realized that she had never met many of the captains and vice-captains in person.
I should remember as much as I can about these people, kuku. It won't do to forget their faces later, kuku!
Flora looked at each of the captains and vice-captains intensely trying to memorize every detail she could about them. After all, these people were the strongest defenders of the Clover Kingdom, and having recently been appointed Vice-Captain she now stood among them. There was much she could learn from watching these veteran knights, and Flora planned on soaking up every bit knowledge she could.
After taking in all she could, Flora, Fidgeting excitedly, waited for the exams to begin.
What should a woman wear when she’s going to meet some of the most powerful men in the kingdom?
Rosalia pursed her lips as she stared between her two outfits of choice. One was her traditional black latex and leather bodysuit, the stuff she loved to fight in. The other was a one-of-a-kind purple dress with a semi-see through front and a black feathered neckline. Her pale fingers passed between the two for the 17th time as she debated on what to have her body adorn for the day. As someone who didn’t care about most opinions, she should have no problem throwing on the black latex outfit. It was scandalous and left barely anything to the imagination. But she wasn’t in the Royal Capital to attract needless attention (as much as she enjoyed doing so).
When she heard the knock on her door, the red-headed witch, still in lingerie, picked up the purple dress and slid her body inside of it. It would have to do. It was posh-er than anything she’d ever worn, but the designer had given it to her for free after the magazine shoot, so she could never quite reject having it in her closet. Putting some gloss over her lips, tying her Magic Knights mantle over her shoulders and giving herself one last appraising glance in the mirror, the woman threw her heels on and went downstairs to meet up with her captain.
“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting too long.” Rosalia would smile bashfully at the Black Bull and follow him out of the tavern.
The wizardess wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the Magic Knight Exams. She’d taken them and looked back fondly on the experience, yet she never thought she’d one day get to watch them from the Captain’s terrace, alongside Malcolm Watanabe. As her ruby eyes scanned through the people already there before her, her hues swept through the form of the Captain of the Crimson Lions first. Ardere Kisai definitely seemed to carry himself like what she imagined a man titled “the Crimson King” would. There was power in his posture... Not wanting to stare so she moved on to the male who sat next to him on the Silver Eagles chair and a little smile crept up onto her features. Yuurei Krane…he sure had grown from that adorable boy she remembered him as. Her smile turned into a little grin at Zaven Blake. Rosalia hadn’t seen him in weeks. She gave all three of the men and their accompanying vice-captains a polite bow before giving Lydia a little wink.
“No worries love, pleasure to see you is all mine” She murmured to the pink-haired Vice-captain as her Captain began to give his speech. Something akin to one, at least. It made Rosalia shake her head and giggle. Trust Malcolm Watanabe to come off as a cocky battle-loving barbarian. When he sat on his chair and looked back at her, she gave him a thumbs up. Technically, if anyone wanted to survive in the Bulls, they did have to be able to enjoy the thrill of the fight. And the liquor. And all of the imperfections that their members carried. Like the drinking problems, gambling, pyromania, idiocy, laziness and occasional borderline sex-addiction. The red-head shook her head at the list.
When the Black Bull finally took the liberties of introducing the red-head to the other people on the Captain’s Terrace, she gave another bow as she felt something in her stomach do a little flip. A “future candidate for his Vice Captain.” He was making bold statements again.
“I’ll try not to be too much of a distraction,” the red-head grinned wolfishly at the people that had arrived before her.
Rosalia then turned towards the group of citizens bellow them quietly. This was going to be great. She scanned through the group of wizards, trying to gauge who she wanted in the Bulls with them…and winced when she heard a particularly annoying and unmistakable voice. The ice-user grit her teeth and gave the Captain and Vice-captain of her ex-squad a very strained but still polite smile before glancing back down at the field. Fuck. How did one play the ignore game again?
The woman leaned over her Captain's chair and lowered her voice as she whispered in his ear. She had completely forgotten that the Blue Roses were going to be here.
"Please tell me I'm allowed to get drunk after this?"

The journey from Kiten to where the Magic Knight Exam was being held was a bit longer than he had expected. It was like the night before a fight, he couldn’t help but let the anticipation cause him to have stayed up longer than he would have liked. Even still pulled himself out of bed at a reasonable hour to get ready for the day he had been waiting for. He had quickly gotten dressed, adorning his usual attire consisting his black short sleeved shirt, black pants and the silver armor with the bird carved onto it. Once he slipped on his black boots and gloves he ran one of his hands through his green hair front to back pushing it up into the spiky style he was known for back home. His golden eyes would look out the window once more as the sun began to shine into his room just bright enough to make him close one of his eyes "I guess that is my cue to head out." He exited the room he had rented for the night and would make his way towards the arena that would be the place he would put his skills to use and show the Captains what he was all about.
Pyr looked up at the building upon his approach admiring the building that would act as the place where his adventures would truly begin. He would soon enter the same area where some others were standing at a desk for the registration portion of the exams. “Next” the clerk would say and motion for Pyr to approach the desk next. “State your name, town and show me your grimoire.” With his thumb he would point at himself, “Pyyrhos Akoúo̱ from Kiten.” he would hold up his grimoire with a slight grin before he was told to proceed to the area where the other participants were, “Remember don’t get yourself killed Spikey.” The words of his Uncle rang through his head as he took in his surroundings. He knew it was his uncle’s way of saying be careful, expressing emotions had never been something his uncle was good at. It was good to see that he wasn’t the first one to arrive but now he had to wonder if he was the last to arrive if not how many more would be joining. He scanned the area to what the others were like. The first of the exam takers that caught his attention was a male who was dressed in black with his eyes covered by a blindfold and long white hair. “He looks like an interesting character.” He would say to himself before shifting his golden eyes to each of the others so different looking and he was excited to see what some of them could do. He went to a spot where there wasn’t anyone really around and began to stretch a bit, trying to get himself nice and limber for the events that were to come.
His attention was stolen away when he heard a loud voice speaking from up above them. With his hands behind his head he continued to stretch, leaning back so he could get a good stretch as he looked up at the red haired man as he gave his speech and explained how the exams would go. Seemed simple enough “As far as first impressions go that was pretty good, a bit longer than it needed to be but not bad.” After the man with red hair made his speech another man stood up. He not only introduced himself as Zaven Blake, the captain of Golden Dawn. His speech was shorter and was blunt with what he was looking for from the exam takers. Cunning, loyalty and dominance in the field of battle. "Well, at least he is up front with what he wants from us." He was about to go back to focusing on his warming up when another man waved and stood to speak but unlike the first guy he kept it to the point telling them to do good, fight hard and join the Bulls. Pyr smiled “I like that guy’s style.” he muttered to himself as he tried to get a good look at the rest of the higher ups that would be evaluating them. He noticed a red haired woman dressed in purple studying them all and kept his smile for her to see, “and to add more pressure, a beauty like that judging me. More reason to give it my all” he let his gaze linger for a moment longer before going back to stretching and would then crouch to await what would come next. His smile didn’t waiver as his thirst for battle was started.

It was that time of the year again for the Magic Knight Exams to take place. This event has always brought such great talent into the order of the Magic Knights. Lazuli would make her way into the area where the Captains of each squad has decided to congregate. She looked around to notice the faces of all the Captains that were in attendance. It didn’t come to her surprise whenever she heard her Vice-Captain, Flora, go on to make a grand announcement for her arrival. Lazuli didn’t blush, fret, or even show much emotion with that announcement. Today was the day where the Blue Rose Knights would do their best to obtain new members for the Squad. Today, the Captain was looking for new strong independent women who would be able to take on the Blue Rose Mantle. Within this squad was not allowed for women who wanted to bow or take orders from any men. Blue Rose members were women who are confident within themselves to where they could take on any tasks that are thrown their way. Just like the Knight who took on the Vice-Captain Trials not too long ago. That Knight showed true definition of what this squad is all about. Lazuli would keep a strong eye out for each citizen that is taking on the exams. If they wish to join the Blue rose they will need to show the Captain they have what it takes.
After Flora had given out a grand entrance for the Captain she decided to take her seat. She would make a speech for the candidates to hear, but, with the speech Captains Ardere and Zaven have given, she saw no need to further any of it. Captain Ardere was an idol amongst the Clover Kingdom. Those who hear his words are those who know what a true leader sounds like. Lazuli had never seen the need to allow any man to help her when she needed it, but Captain Ardere was one of the only Exceptions. The rest of the Captains were great Knights within the order, but it was hard shoes to fill for any of the Captains to compare to Ardere. Though, Captain Lazuli would wind up taking her eyes to place them down towards the candidates for the exams. There was quite a large amount of people to show up. Based off the appearance of some of them it showed that none of them could take on the Mantle. Once these exams start, these members would show off some exceptional talent that will be of great use to the Magic Knights Order.
