Gaius noted movements from the others, those glorious bastards. Indeed, this attack of terror was meant to disrupt the daily goings ons, so as far as things go this could be considered an absolute success and win in the book of the roguish crew. Now, time for the elven gang to make their equally marvelous escape, which their leader had surely planned out… right? Right? As Gaius considered things again, perhaps he should have made certain that there was an actual strategy laid out before blindly jumping onto the criminal bandwagon, as Kallos was infamously impulsive and was mostly good for his genius conceptualizations, not quite his ability to follow through with said concepts.
Oh dear, Gaius could imagine prison life already, the horrors! Being surrounded on all sides by stone walls, only having the cold hard floor to sleep on, and no light at night only able to navigate with the touch of one’s hands and feet to their surrounding structure… wait, this didn’t sound so bad to Gaius, who was so in love with the earth that any of her elements felt like an embrace upon his person. If anything, he only wished he could somehow not have to breathe so he could bury himself in her soil without dying, but this prison thing wasn’t such a bad thing. Perhaps… yes, of course! Kallos hadn’t forgotten an escape plan, this was it! To reward Gaius for his loyalty, their great supreme elven leader would send Gaius to jail and thus fulfil a truly euphoric experience of being surrounded and entrapped by the earth’s mighty grasp!
The elf cancelled his earth turtle spell, and so accepted Zaven’s attack head-on! His mana skin would instantly be annihilated by the force of the punch to his gut, knocking the air right out of him (who needs the stuff, all gaseous and not at all like the earth) and was pinned face first into the ground, which Gaius welcomed like a kiss to his beloved earth.
“Ah, were the pebbles from you? I thank you, kind sir, for the love taps from my mistress earth, it was quite a pleasant experience.”
Indeed, like a pervert of an irrecoverable degree, Gaius provided his attacker with his gratitude. Afterall, this whole experience would become quite a pleasurable time for the earth mage. Gaius did wonder if Kallos was going to be taken in as well, uncertain whether it was in his leader’s interest to be arrested and knowing that that slippery fellow could escape nine out of ten times when he wanted to get away. Still, the company in jail might not be so bad, even though the earth was always there to support him
As he was pinned, Gaius would offer himself in a submissive position and show no resistance to the magic knight’s physical restrainment, instead providing his hands and feet to be shackled. There were rumors amongst the rogues that the magic knights had the capabilities to create restraints that could nullify magic use, which made sense or else it would be impossible to keep a check on all the rogues they arrested. Still, Gaius was worried whether he might still be able to feel the love of the earth while his earth magic was essentially nullified. If so, prison might be absolute hell, but his magic was not the only way he was connected to the earth, no sir! Afterall, gravity itself and all structure and nutrients came from the earth, so how could merely losing magic cripple him so? No, he would be strong like the earth, let himself feel her magmic flow through his blood and her titanic shivers through his feet. Nothing could keep him from his true love.
