Tomatoes? In the vast world of cheap food to pillage in these times, tomatoes was the go to for these bandits? Though she could not argue the fact that hunger will drive the hand regardless of taste, accepting this mission to protect some farmer's ruby red jewels was something short of a bar tale. Bryn doubt she could even swing that into a proper story to begin with. 'I was hired to guard the precious tomatoes against would-be thieves! Sure. That'll be rich.'
She would laugh at the silly nature of the big picture, but Bryn understood the sentiment. It was the fruits of one's labor and no one else had the right to take away from them but the reaper himself. Retightened the straps on her gloves and turned to absorb what gifts her little mission zone had to offer. Sosshi was a relatively familiar area compared to her village, layout basically a larger town for the sake of commerce. People come through on a daily to get what they need or resupply for their options. So much so that they said seeing a magic knight or two was pretty commonplace. None today it seems. There was a little bit of her that was disappointed at this realization. No professional back up for the tomatoes this morning it seems.
Coming up on the farm, she could see the wagon loaded up high with some precious ruby spheres. Unable to stifle a whistle, Bryn was impressed at the crops. Some buyer was going to be impressed at the markets today. Coming closer she could see the merchant but no others. The guy seemed to be rather miffed and skittish so far, asking if she was part of the guard detail. Then came the look. The indistinguishable glance of disappointment. She expected it. Not a magic knight plus a woman? What else was new! Still, she knew better than to mouth off before the mission got started. Bryn cracked a smile and noted that she was very early after all. The other two weren't expected to appear for at least another hour or so.
The merchant scoffed and went off to load more tomatoes onto the cart. A small 'tch' escaped Bryn's mouth as she let her better half follow and silently gave the farmer a hand. It earned her some brownie points and even some extended conversation. Seems the man had bad luck before with hires and had grown accustomed to all sorts showing up. He took kindy to the fact Bryn was a country gal too, though seemed to sour a bit at the talk about Magic Knights. All the same, the talk made the time go by quickly as the colors in the sky shifted from dark to light. With a loaded wagon, the only matter left was to assemble the party and set off with their tomatoes.
Fell wandered around the city of Sosshi for the second time in his life. He was grateful to have been here before as it made it a little easier to get around the city. After all whenever he wandered around towns he made sure to cover every road, every alley and even climb buildings just to get a better idea of the layout. This thankfully meant that he happened to remember the area he was told to meet up with the other people he would be with on this mission, he didn't recognize the names on the list but assumed they were rather capable if they were put on the mission. Nonetheless it wasn't like Fell was some sort of crazy strong mage either so he couldn't really judge.
Fell found his way over to the wagon and the tomatoes, seeing the guy he assumed was the client. Fell missed the cloak being around his neck, the lack of Crimson Lion representation was a pain in Fells eye considering how grateful and proud he was to have made it into the squad. However the boy had learned very quickly how awful of an idea it was to walk around sporting Magic Knight gear while also being in a forsaken region. Maybe once the boy was stronger and felt more confident in fighting everyone he came across he would think about wearing the cloak around these cities. Fell walked up to the tomato guy trying to limit the amount of time he wasted and introduced himself.
“Hello, I assume you are the tomato man, Names Fell, Crimson Lion. I'll make sure we get these tomatoes to your destination safely, along with the other two I am sure.” Fell and the man would proceed to talk for a little bit, the man giving some details to the boy while also mentioning how grateful he was that a knight showed up. Fell grew the impression that meant the other girl who he saw helping the man was one of the other two, and yet not a knight. It didn't really make a difference to Fell who was helping on the mission, she didn't look like a noble though so that was always a plus in Fell’s eyes.
Making his way up to the girl who had just picked up some tomatoes, Fell joined, picking up some tomatoes and following her to put them in the wagon as the owner joined in. Fell would speak as the two worked waiting on the third teammate to show up. “Hello, I see you were hard at work before I ever got here, sorry for leaving you alone. Im Fell, nice to meet you.” Fell said as the two dropped tomatoes into the wagon. Turning to the girl Fell would hold out his hand, he had learned most people would never shake it yet it was his go to introduction. “What's your name?”

Of all the things for these Bandits to go after why was it tomatoes? Who would think of stealing tomatoes? These were humans not wild animals. Wouldn't it make more sense to steal money? Maybe they were just hungry, but again stealing money would solve that problem. Perhaps it was because they thought that stealing from the fields would be easier. Unfortunately for them, it wouldn't be the case this day.
On this particular day, he was wearing a pair of blue basketball shorts and a plain blue t-shirt. Pangu didn't expect his Dwarf genes to kick in so why wear something extremely oversized if he didn't have to? His choice of clothing was still loose-fitting, but not enough to look absurd. What made him stand out as he was walking up the pathway to the farm was the staff idly twirling in his right hand.
Once he got close he could make out the shapes of Bryn, Fell, and his employer. When he got nearby he got looks that were none better than the one he gave Bryn. A scowl spread over his face as he bowed and introduced himself to the group. It seemed that most, if not all, of the work, was done before he got there.
An actual magic knight, more importantly from the prestigious Crimson Lions, was also tasked to protect some tomatoes? Guess the whole world be needing their tomatoes for some salad or sauce today. Bryn glanced over at the approaching Fell and offered a nod after his introduction. His added cordial behavior was appreciated, though rubbed her the wrong way. At no fault to the owner, but Bryn couldn't help but notice the change in demeanor from their client. A change for the better with the cavalry here. Fell seemed nice enough and it was just Bryn's pride that caused a small, visible flare in her demeanor.
"Charmed. The name's Bryn. Bryn Halcyon." she said with a smirk, "Save the moves for the vegen bandits. Seems like our boss is going to be putting a lot of the flak on your mantle Mr. Fell."
Loading up the last bit of the tomatoes just as the final member walked up. Raising an eyebrow at this new fellow, she noted the nonchalant entrance despite being last to come. Pretty bold of them to do so and the employer didn't take kindly. A few tongue lashing, with Bryn mixed in just because 'why not?' A common-born village girl pretending to be a bodyguard was every bit as irksome as a latecomer to their employer. Earned an eye rolling as she silently mouthed to the blonde stranger 'Good going.' Turned the journey into a chore for everyone as the boss man took every opportunity to express his grievances to the magic knight.
"Troubled times leaves people wanting some security in their life. Can't blame him for his preferences." Bryn muttered to no one in particular as she followed the cart by its side, saying the next bit even quieter, "Even if he is a stuck up little twig sniffer."
She was open to banter at the moment to get her mind off of her employer's dumb prejudice until trouble struck on cue. Two, slightly emaciated looking fellows stood in the middle of the road roughly ten paces away. Far enough for a spell witout a speed boost to be clearly seen and dodged. It was also out of engagement range for herself but she couldn't see any weapons on the pair.
"Good morning gentleman and lady!" one of the bandits called out.
The other tapped the caller's shoulder and said to him, "It's gentlemen bruddah."
"Whu?"
"Gentlemen! You know, cuz there's more than one! And I think she is a woman. Lady I feels is a noble marking. We gots to be respectful and acknowledge more than one of 'em"
"So you's saying to acknowledge more of'em
The green-libery spiked bandit shook his head vigorously.
Nodding in approval at first, the bandit then slapped the other on the cheek thrice while yelling, "Ain't nobody cared about how many they are! Are yous stupid?! One or two hundred! Ain't nobody gonna disrespect the Soyboys otherwise! We here for the tomooty! Not the booty!
He seemingly started to throw a mini-tantrum, but Bryn was more bewildered by what was playing out before her.
"So..." she edged out before taking up a combative stance, "...I guess the vegen bandits thing isn't so farfetched after all."
On cue, the leader whistled loudly. Two more bandits emerged from the bushes on the side of the roads. Armed and ready, the soyboys struck with vigor!
Fell noticed the girl was growing rather annoyed with how much more the man seemed to like him compared to her, Fell tried to ignore it. It wasn't like he had asked for him the be that way; it just sort of turned out to be that way, though it was better than the other way around for himself of course. Not like Fell himself saw him as any better than her or whoever their third was. They all were there to do the same job and he was sure they would be capable either way, knight or not. The man they worked for just simply didn't seem to agree.
Nonetheless Fell ignored any sort of malice that may or may not have been meant with the word uttered by the girl and only took them in stride. “I'm sure he just wants his tomatoes protected and doesn't care much how it happens. Just prove him wrong, you look capable to do so. Be your own ticket to gaining his favor, don't fight me.” Fell said to the girl at an attempt to qualm any issues she may have had with the boy. In the end that was sort of his philosophy on life though, prove everyone wrong when they believe you are less than you know you are. The third member of their group showed up shortly after and introduced himself, the introductions were short lived as they soon would be moving on to actually doing their job. Fell worried if he could trust the girl with them, she seemed to already have it out for Fell, though he hoped that she wasn't dark enough to actually let anything happen to them.
Fell didn't really care about the boy showing up later than the other two, after all they were not hired to help move the tomatoes; they only did so out of niceness. Therefore in the end the boy had only shown up at the proper time, Brynn seemed to disagree. The matter lasted no longer than a minute though before their first work actually started. As two men jumped out and sputtered nonsense talking about the usage of pronouns and what not, it simply was just a waste of time in the end. Naturally the bandits were dumb enough that two more came out to attack immediately instead of trying to set up some sort of ambush. All the better for Fell.
The two closest quickly charged in, It seemed Fell was the first to react. Jumping into the one on his right he planted a knee directly into the chest of the bandit. Turning his head he saw the other swing at him with something from behind his back, as it came around his body fell noticed it to be a blunt round object, like a short staff of sorts, a rather lackluster weapon and pretty wimpy. Fell ducked under the blow landing on his knees, bringing his hand up to the mans midsection as he muttered “Bolt” quietly. He watched as lightning crackled through his arm and out of his hand directly into the man's midsection who was still moving forward from his swing. The bolt was so close to the man that he was sent backwards as his chest flew inwards and the momentum shifted quickly from forward to backward as he fell onto the ground.
With one bandit on the backfoot from a knee and another on the ground, Fell trusted his partners to be able to aid with the other two as well as possibly the one in front of him, he trusted them, maybe the boy so far more than Brynn however.
Description:Fell can charge the cells in his arm to vibrate that create a lightning bolt and causes it to shoot off where Fell is pointing his hand. This lightning bolt is a single cubic meter and Multiple bolts may be shot with enough control (10 per bolt). Bolts do junior rank damage.

[nospaces] Pangu was there at the time he was given to do the job he was paid to do. It wasn't his fault the others decided to come early and do some extra work. He shouldn't have been punished because of the actions of others. He had only said an apology as a formality since the others had gotten there before him. [break][break] He mentally cursed them and made a note to stop being polite during this visit. If it were him that accepted the job he likely would have turned around and left the others to complete the task themselves. However, Pangu was here representing his mother so that was out of the question. He pretended to pay no mind to their chastising words so they could get the cart on the road. The sooner this was done the sooner he got to go home after all. [break][break] It wasn't long before the bandits appeared in front of them. Upon hearing the whistle Pangu let out a rallying cry of his own. “Sun Wukong!” As soon as the words spilled from his mouth he began racing forward towards the two in front of him. While he did so a foot long monkey tail sprouted from his lower back. The Spell provided a minor Speed boost, but hopefully, it would be enough to make a difference. [break][break] Pangu lunged at the one on the left, but since he was very aware of what was happening he effortlessly dodged the straightforward attack. He even took the time to mock him while he was doing so. “As if something so obvious would actually work against us! Better luck next time lady!” The other one chastised the other. “Nah bruddah! That one's a gentleman!” [break][break] Besides the petty squabbling and mocking this was all going according to Pangu's plan! Once he was passed the pair he dug his heel into the ground and twisted to face them both. At the same time, the first bandit went to do a double-take to make sure the other was correct. His breath was visible on the air as he spoke. “Huh, I guess you're right!” [break][break] Just like the bandit's moments before Pangu's breath looked like puffs of white fog in the air as another Spell escaped his lips. “Arbuda!” A chill filled the air for a split second before a strong gust of wind and snowflakes exploded from Pangu's body. The sudden snowstorm slamming against their bodies quickly pushed them in Bryn's direction. He didn't quite know what the girl could do, but since she was here he assumed she was a capable fighter. Or so he hoped. [break][break] Not only did the Spell cause the bandits to go flying, but the snowflakes in the wind began to clump together on their Grimoires. The pages of their spellbooks were soon coated with the snow. If the bandits chose to use any Spells of their own they would find it more difficult than before. Pronoun Bandit A - 100% Health; casting speed halved, control -4
Pronoun Bandit B - KO;
"BWUH?!" said the blasted bandit, who suffered the unfortunate chilling conclusion to a poorly executed jump scare. Both him and his buddy staggering into a backpedal to regain their footing against this invasive spine chiller. One of the bandits tumbled into a fall, doing his best impression of a maraca while fumbling to separate the frost laden pages of his grimoire. He was the one who got off easy. The other bandit's inability to regain his footing set him up for a waiting, long-haired combatant.
Bryn pumped herself up by single verse casting Prajvalit, emitting a gentle red aura about her hands and feet laced with tiny crackling embers. Whistling and calling to Pangu with a 'Nice assist!', she lowered her center of gravity and adopted a very wide combat stance. Arms spread and angled forward, Bryn led with her dominant right foot with a single step. Pushing up low and fast, the Halcyon pugilist checked the top of her shoulders against the base of the bandit's spine whilst locking her arms about their waist. She then anchored her feet into ground as firmly as possible before taking a big breath.
Upon exhaling, the lithe female could then be seen quickly contorting her spine backwards with the bandit in tow. Utilizing her long, powerful legs, the young female used the inertia generated to wiggle further down the waistline until the bandit was fully at her mercy in the air. As she was in motion to bring the touchdown, a phantasmal fist emerged above her pelvis. With a loud slam generating a dust cloud, the woman dunked the living daylights out of the first vegen bandit with vigor. The fist that emerged before followed up immediately to smash into the decked bandit's face. One could see the bandit's legs suddenly straighten before slumping. Bryn didn't think it finished them off, but that pronoun bandit would not be revving up to full speed anytime soon. A mixture of Bryn's raw force plus the numbing nature of Pangu left this poor soul at the edge of his consciousness.
She spread her legs outward and used them as a propeller of sorts to kick herself up with a spin. Bryn righted herself to a seated position to take note of the damage after the initial push. Fell counter jumped a pair before Pangu and Bryn's tandem attack. Then something caught her eyes. The initial bandits down the road had made some gestures and whistle calls. Several more meatheads popped out of the woodwork with their grimoires and pitchforks at the ready. To the left of the field, a line of vegans started calling forward moldy zucchinis and durians overhead. They were then launched in an arc, Bryn noticing that they were slowly growing to the size of a bowling ball. Following behind the artillery were two pikemen. 'Vegetable artillery? Kudos for creativity.'
Calling out to Fell, she was moving up to assist him whilst calling out the incoming volley. "If you got a nice spread spell Fell, now would be a good time to bring them out. I got your six!"
Fell watched as the two new partners of his on their mission fulfilled their part of the bargain, the boy had grown a tail which was rather intriguing to Fell. Personally it was the first time he had seen that, most often it was more like people simply reinforcing what they had or replacing things they had lost such as rat's arm. But no, this boy created a full blown tail, but Fell had to admit monkeys were rather adorable. Fell watched as the monkey boy threw the two rather annoying bandits back and near the girl who proceeded to annihilate one, poor guy didn't have a chance it seemed. Fell gave the girl credit in her grappling, but wondered what else she could do.
Fell didn't waste his time though, as the two dealt with the two Fell had left, Fell had his own idea, he knew the two were capable enough and decided to give them a third. Fell stood up quickly from his kneel while one of the bandits he had made backpedal was still unaware of how to place his feet to stop. Fell ran quickly towards the man jumping and kicking outwards, as his foot planted into the man's chest Fell snapped his leg out, pushing the man back further, just close enough for what Fell needed. The bandit now was close enough to the approaching two pikemen that one could see Fell’s shadow begin extending outwards to a point between the two pikemen and the bandit that was just kicked, all barely inside the 10m area Fell would need.
As the shadow reached the point quickly with the pikemen being rather closer than the boy had originally realized the charging pikemen didn't even notice, and the bandit too busy falling backwards was hit by the spell. Reaching its point and stopping just as three needles shot out from the center, stabbing immediately into the three people. The bandit by far got it the worst, closest to the ground the shadow didn't have much work to do as a needle shot out and ran through the guys head, eyes rolling backwards. The two pikemen were different, one managed to see the shadow needle quick enough to dodge it slightly as it slammed out and into the man's leg as he tried jumping to the side. The other was sort of in the middle of the damage between the three, taking the hit into his stomach. Fell was happy the spell was successful, but he wasn't done either.
With the other bandit from the first two standing now fell proceeded to run up to him as well, kicking him in the back as he stood up the man stumbled close back to Fell’s two partners. Fell figured he would leave the man to his two buddies, figuring they would do well to take the three out. Turning around Fell watched as the launchers began to launch their spells, Fell jumped backwards as the first two spells hit the ground right where he was standing. A third spell came from directly in front of the boy, who dropped to his back as he watched the spell fly over him, barely seeing the last spell as he rolled to the side with another spell coming to where he had just been.
Fell hoped the three would be dealt with quickly by his partners as it wasn't gonna take long for the boy to be overwhelmed by the mages.

[nospaces] Pangu smirked when Bryn called out with praise. The girl was able to finish off one of their original opponents, but it seemed that the other was left up to him. He quickly dashed towards the remaining Pronoun Bandit. [break][break] Before he was able to pry apart the pages of his grimoire Pangu swung his staff at his legs to sweep his feet out from under him. In an instant, he changed his grip on his staff so he was wielding it with both hands like one would a sword. He then swung it down on the poor man's body as it fell to the ground, not only accelerating his descent but knocking him out cold as well. [break][break] His attention then turned over to the man that Fell had kicked in his and Bryn's direction. Just as he did earlier Pangu dashed towards the man without giving him a chance to breathe. Once he got close to the vulnerable man he skipped to a halt. Pangu kept both hands on his staff but changed his staff. He now looked similar to a batter in baseball as he swung his weapon into the side of the Vegan Jumper's head. A loud CRACK! could be heard before his unconscious body flew towards Pangu's right side. The bandit would have a bad concussion, but wouldn't be much worse for wear once he woke up. [break][break] Shortly after the group began to be bombarded by vegetable artillery. The spells were rather simple, but they were effective nonetheless. If Bryn hadn't warned him then Pangu likely would have been hit by the attacks, but that was not the case. Instead, Pangu returned to his original grip on the staff, using only one hand to swing it in the direction of the attacks. “Arbuda!” The same spell as before slipped from his lips as a strong gust of wind erupted from his body to knock away the veggie bombs. [break][break] Pangu's spell ended up sending the attacks back to their casters. They didn't manage to hit any of the Veggie Launchers, but they were too busy avoiding the sudden counterattack to notice Pangu advancing towards them. As he did so his stance changed to one he hadn't shown yet in this combat. He was holding the staff as if it was a spear now so he could jab it into the shoulder of one of the Veggie Launchers. Pangu had hoped that if he stayed within a close distance to them they'd be more hesitant to use their artillery for fear of harming their allies, but then again they are bandits after all. "BOSS?! They be breakin our veggie ranks!" one of the pikemen said, who was now conflicted on whether to return to the launchers and assist or keep the brute of a gorilla woman at bay. One look at the planted pronouner that she buried made him reconsider his options, as he was not sure even ten of them could deal with her. "We oughtta try again anudda day man!"
The leaders snarled a bit, knowing that was the smart play. But what sort of message would that send to the people? Only meat and mead guzzlers could be effective bandits? Or were they supposed to compromise and becomes omnivore followers? It was unacceptable to bend a knee to these turnpikes. The leaders brandished their knives and started on a dead heat sprint towards the carriage. Rallying the men, they called out,
"DITCH THE WEENIES NERDS! DO WHAT YOU GOTTA, BUT PUSH ONTO THOSE JUICY RED ORBS! WE GOTS THE NUMBERS ADVANTAGE AND OUR SALADS AIN'T GONNA MAKE THEMSELVES!!"
The farmer shrieked after suddenly drawing the aggro of his aggressors. Each of the launchers gave a battle cry, while releasing a new spell. Seemingly a defensive one at first, as they became surrounded by what appeared to be a mixture of a moldy pumpkin and peeled onion. Then these vegetables grew bigger, and bigger, and even bigger yet! One look at these pungent veggies made them think they were trying to squish Fell and Pangu between their stinky filling. Upon closer inspection however, these growing rotters were beginning to twitch uncontrollably. Coupled with the grinning faces of the casters, they were planning on blowing themselves up with the rotten vegetable spell! The attempt would deal junior damage to everyone sandwiched in the area within a 15m radius and likely leave a stench that would not wash off so easily! Especially when all four were plotting to do the same thing.
Bryn noticed the weird circumstances and called to her teammates, "Guys! They're massing a bunch of mana, be carefu---HEY!
She swayed quickly to the left and tucked her right arm in to parry one of the thrusts the pikemen did towards her. Seems as if the pikemen's nerves settled and they began to advance on Bryn's location, preventing her from backing up Fell and Pangu out of their predicament. Knowing that two more bandits would be on her location near the tomatoes soon, she had to find a method to down the peons as quickly as possible to keep matters under control. Close quarters combat was something she had a lot of pride in, but taking on four while protecting a fragile produce carriage definitely sounded troublesome. Picking up her guard she alternated her focus between the two pikemen while pushing back on their advance.
This caused the bandits to act on their nerves, with both of them lunging at her. Bryn quickly tucked in her arms and rolled clockwise along the furthest extended shaft of the pike, then cradling it under her armpits before delivering a sharp elbow to snap the weapon's point off. That act startled the pikemen, breaking the strength of their charge and creating an opening for Bryn to close the gap. Her form went low, as she began bobbing and weaving into the broken pikeman's guard. A series of sharp hooks were delivered in quick succession to the poor man's jawline, with a resounding crack growing louder per impact. After each side took two hits each, Bryn shot her arms down to the ground before kicking off backwards into a somersault kick. Her boots delivering a sharp snap to the lower jaw and sending the bandit flying; unconscious and out of commission.
Snapping out of his stupor at what happened, the other bandit saw the opportunity to rail Bryn while she was airborne and helpless. Unfortunately for him, he was greeted with the sight of Bryn tucking her legs in momentarily to capture the momentum generated by the somersault. This pikeman never saw anything like it, only realizing his thrust sailed harmlessly underneath her. Bryn then extended her leg back out and unleashed a trail of light following her boot. Her foot sliced through the sudden guard the bandit tried to raise in response and he fell to the ground screaming at the cut delivered. Bryn slide her opposite foot from the one that landed first into a sweep before resetting her stance. Her left arm reeled back and upwards as a look of terror spread upon the last pikeman's face.
"M-Mercyyyy!!!" he squealed!
"Nope!" Bryn said with a dark smile, bringing her fist that was surrounded by an ethereal form. Unleashing her void limb spell directly onto the pikeman's gut and knocking the wind out of him. He laid their motionless, incapacitated by the spell combo.
Fell was happy to see his two partners doing well, they were clearly capable not that Fell ever really doubted them anyway of course. But he never even really expected much from himself after all so it wasn't surprising. But Fell was growing rather tired of the fight and was in the end simply annoyed at the bantering of the bandits who seemed unaware of just how screwed they were. How could this leader even talk numbers when they had double the people when this all started and Fell and the other two were still yet to be touched really at all, it was astounding how arrogant these people were.
Fell watched as the veggie mages attempted their little spell, it was pointless. The distance already had been cut when Fell ran into the pikemen and having all them concentrate on a single spell was moronic. Fell darted quickly to the group of veggies finding one in the middle he jumped bringing his knee to the man's jaw. As Fell had approached he saw the bandits eyes widening in fear as they realized they had messed up. Even as the leaders tried to help by shooting rather puny magic spells at Fell who dodged...it was useless. The knee sent the mage onto his back, the wind most likely being lost from his lungs.
As fell landed on his feet he quickly stuck both arms out to each side and muttered “Bolt”. Lightning would crackle in the boys eyes before shooting out of his arms and into the other two nearest launchers. Thousands of electric volts coursing through their veins Fell wasted no time immediately manipulating his shadow to shoot out after the bolts, manifesting up and into the chest of each bandit, puncturing each’s body. As the two bodies fell to the floor, unconscious or dead Fell knew this fight was soon to be over.
Fell looked down at the recently knocked prone individual and only sighed. “You guys really need to know when to learn your lesson and realize you lost. We were all going easy on you, but I think if my partners here oblige we can let the girl have her fun with you two leaders, I am sure she will be gentle.” Fell said messing with the two leaders, and the only untouched ones so far. With fell mounted on the guy he had knocked down and another fairly in pain Fell was sure this was all but over.

[nospaces] Pangu was somewhat surprised when the bandit leaders called to press the attack instead of retreating. They were devoted if nothing else. The dwarf had a small amount of respect for the group. At least they'd go down fighting for something they believed in. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for Pangu, at least not yet. [break][break] The launchers casting a seemingly suicidal Spell was a surprise for Pangu. Never in his years did he think he'd see somebody so passionate about vegetables that they'd be willing to go this far. You could always find more food so why sacrifice yourself? [break][break] Pangu couldn't make sense of their actions, but he knew he had to stop them. Bryn was held up by the pikemen so the job was left to Fell and himself. A quick jerking movement sent the end of his staff into the jaw of the launcher he was currently facing. After the blow knocked the man unconscious Pangu looked around to see what was left of the battlefield. [break][break] It didn't take Fell long before he knocked out two more and had a third on the ground. Pangu moved next to the other male before jamming the butt of his staff into the prone opponent's chest and giving him a kick to the head. Another foe was left unconscious. [break][break] Pangu smirked at Fell's comment about leaving the two leaders to the girl. He considered it for a moment before looking over at the two remaining enemies. Once again the group was squabbling amongst themselves. It was the pronoun bandits before and now the vegan leaders were doing the same. Somehow they managed to mix zealotry and a total lack of cohesion. A feat that Pangu didn't even think possible before now. [break][break] Pangu sighed as the monkey tail growing from his lower back retracted back into his body. He didn't want to trigger the growth trait of his race by expending too much more mana. The clothes he was wearing weren't made to withstand that kind of change. His next Spell would put him just barely above the threshold where he wouldn't have to worry about ripping his clothing. [break][break] “Sañjīva.” Upon saying the spell he'd wave his hand in front of him before three balls of glowing embers flew from his palm. Once they struck the leaders a wall of embers swirled in a tornado around the pair. Pangu would then walk over to Bryn and chuckle. “Well do you want the glory or do you want help? Just say the when and I'll drop the Spell.” Regardless of the answer if either of his allies moved to attack he'd let loose his concentration on his Spell to allow them to act unimpeded. (OOC: Feel free to DM some of the bandits fellas. We got plenty to go around.)
"Hooligans. Da lots of yer!! Especially you lass, dunkin ou boyos like that. What's the matter witcha?" said a leader.
"What he said! Flaunting yer privilege when we outs here trying to etch a livin'!" added the other.
"Can't trust nobody but ouselves to make it as a proud veggie-dit!"
"Yous wouldn't understand the struggle of etchin' a name in these parts. All them squabs trying to force their agenders on us, puttin us down for--GRRKGPMH!"
A sharp roundhouse from red boots could be seen as Bryn's form was mid-spin in the air. Her boot landing with a satisfying 'THWAP!' and then once more from a spectral copy of her foot. The double-tap knocked what little sense they had conjured back into the void of their conscious, their heads dangling downward until released from their restraints. Bryn's disgruntled face could be seen with a slight pout, none too thrilled about what justification these fools could have conjured. Taking what was not yours was wrong no matter how you spin it. If you're caught, then own up to it or fight on. She almost cut an exception given how much of a useless bug their employer was, but the issue was more than just him. He doesn't make his delivery, other citizens get affected.
"That's enough out of you two. You've caused us enough grief for the day." Bryn scolded the leaders, lowering her leg back to the ground.
Letting out a breath to relax, Bryn moved her arms to the backside near her buttocks and initiated a good stretch. The bandits weren't particularly difficult to dispose of, but they were annoying. Too much stress in one's life was surely bad for their health and complexion. Still, there was something of value to draw from this all: the rough start between the party was ironed out decently. Offering a high-five for the both of them, Bryn flashed a smile while throwing a compliment their way.
"Nice moves you two. Definitely can say anyone would be lucky to square up with either of you. Never stood a chance, these buggers."
Her sincere words were cut short by a shaking fury from their employer. Whether he was doing so in anger or feeling the after effects of nearly wetting himself, the self-centered tomato grower was demanding that they move on before any more of the bandit's posse showed up. Up and down he stomped after emerging from the backside of his wagon, clearly doing what all loudmouths were skilled at: talking big. Completely ruined the mood too. Simple victory over some veggie bandits, tomatoes didn't even get bruised, and the crew was actually working together. All he was mouthing off was commanding Fell to get the other two hires in line so that they could get moving. Bryn, who had half a mind to put this fellow to sleep too, simply gave the employer the middle finger before flashing another smile at Fell and Pangu.
"Piss off you pompous git. If more comes, we'll show you how to plant them like trees or however these fine gentlemen want to dispose of them. You're in good hands."
The rest of the journey would prove to be uneventful. Their employer would mouth off here and there, but the Halcyon pugilist shot him a glare to put the man back into silence. No room on the talking floor for cowards. She, however, would show her sociable side, asking more both Fell and Pangu. Bryn exchanged some personal information too, such as her hobby of drawing, a bit of what she did (which really, was just helping reconstruction efforts), and the ambition to attend the next Magic Knight Exams. Maybe after her journey to Hapshass. There would be time to contemplate the future, since the now was all about getting to know these guys and delivering the ruby reds to the market!
After Fell and Pangu finished the final few basic bandits, Pangu trapped the two leaders in a wind spell too which simply chuckled. The boy stood quiet while the lady of the group would make her way over to the babbling leaders quickly dispatching them with some solid roundhouse kicks and such. She turned around before addressing the two, though their conversing would be cut short much to the anger of Bryn he was sure based off the words. Fell would basically ignore the mans words only nodding to bryn and commenting
“He is an ass, don't worry I know you are capable. I would be ashamed if this was the last time we worked together. Strong women like you need more recognition than you are given.” Fell said smiling before addressing Pangu “You too monkey boy, you are good with that staff, but that support magic is impressive. I'm sure any team would be happy to have you!” Fell would say.
The three would follow the ass that was the tomato man, though nothing nearly as interesting would ever happen after the bandit fight took place. Seemed they had taken out all the important bandits and maybe scared off anymore for the time. But it made for a nice trip, where the three talked and Fell learned much about Brynn. Fell himself stayed mostly silent, only mentioning his small village and mother and how he became a knight and some of the missions he had been on, but not much more. In the end the mission went well and Fell left happy about meeting two people he thought could become friends if they kept in contact. Fell needed people like them.

[nospaces] Pangu had to admit that it was extremely satisfying beating on the bandits. They were smug and had no regard for the lives of their companions. He had been having fun fighting alongside two powerful allies that knew what they were doing. All in all the day was going much better than expected. At least up until the Pro-Vegan Leader's last sentence. Pangu's enjoyment of this fight was quickly put to an end. [break][break] He too understood the want to make a name for oneself. He knew the struggle of trying to claw your way out of someone's shadow. The need to cut the marionette strings and be who you wanted to be instead of who others wanted. Was this his future if he kept going down the path he was on? Willing to hurt and steal from others to rise to the top? Of all the places he expected to hurt at the end of this mission the last thing he expected was his feels. [break][break] Pangu was out of it for a few moments before the sound of Bryn's voice snapped him back to reality. She had just finished knocking some sense into the final enemies and was moving towards him and Fell. When she offered a high five he limply raised an arm and allowed her to slap her palm into his. In response to her praise, he muttered a soft thank you. [break][break] However, the dwarf's docile nature didn't last long as their employer started mouthing off. Pangu's expression immediately changed to one of fury after hearing the farmer's words. How dare he mouth off when they had done everything so perfectly? No scratches on the cart or the farmer. Not one tomato bruised. He had no right to speak when all he'd done was cower in fear. It wasn't long before Pangu joined in the screaming match with Bryn and the farmer. [break][break] “Dāng nǐ zuòzhe shénme yě bù zuò shí, nǐ bìxū shuō shénme quánlì? Zuò xiàlái, bì shàng nǐ wēibùzúdào de rú chóng! Ràng zhēnzhèng liǎojiě zìjǐ zài zuò shénme de rén zài wǒmen jiāng mùguāng tóuxiàng nín zhīqián jiù kāishǐ zhàndòu!” [break][break] Shortly after the outburst Fell began to speak as well. He was telling the group to calm down and trying to change the subject with compliments. Luckily it seemed to work at least for Pangu. It gave him something else to focus on other than his anger so he calmed down unusually quickly. “I appreciate the kind words, but joining the Magic Knights isn't in my future. No offense.” [break][break] Thankfully the rest of the journey was rather uneventful. Since their employer being frightened of the girl, he kept quiet. Pangu would give a brief description of his parents when Fell did the same. His mother a Green Mantis and his father a Purple Orca blacksmith. He'd also say a bit about his house which held all of the extended family's leaders. [break][break] When the job was done Pangu was glad that he had the alone time to think about a few things. He began to make his way home with much on his mind. [break][break] [EXIT] [break][break] WC: 519 | TWC: 2116 [break][break]
