Rosalia had raised an eyebrow originally when Malcolm had given her and Chisana a week off at Silvert Lake to “bond.” She didn’t have a problem with it, she quite liked the youngling, found him handsome for his age, but she wasn’t sure why exactly him. Charles was lazy enough to instantly agree to a break, whereas Malcolm, the beauty knew him well enough to refer to him by his name not his title in private, would’ve enjoyed some free time to drink with her. So why would he have made Chisana come with her? [break][break]
The ice witch mulled over those thoughts as she packed a small bag of clothes, lingerie, wine bottles and books. She flung it over her shoulders and glanced at her casual outfit in the mirror. She wore a nice soft purple dress with matching heels and a white lace cardigan over it. In reality she didn’t need to keep warm, for the beauty rarely felt cold anymore, but she’d done it for the fashion reasons. An ex-model’s habits of dressing to impress had stuck with her, and would probably remain forever. She’d let her long crimson locks fall down loosely over her shoulders all the way to her hips, and tucked a strand behind her ear before heading over to the room next to her own one…The Captain’s Quarters. As Vice-Captain, she’d been given the office next to Malcolms’ and it sometimes intimidated her. They were very good friends, and he seemed to know exactly who was knocking on his door as he called her to come in. [break][break]
Rosa smiled at the older male, quickly explaining to him that she was leaving and going to grab Chisana from downstairs. She received a nod and grin in return. Typical Malcolm. She smiled back before closing the door back out behind her and sighing. That grin… that confidence…Rosalia could never understand how someone felt so comfortable in a position of power…and embodied the squad in such a way. She bit her bottom lip and shook her head as she headed downstairs to the third floor, knocking on Chisana’s door. The witch waiting for him to open up before giving him a wink. [break][break]
“Hey neighbor. Hope you’re ready for your weekend off with yours truly.” The woman leaned against his door frame, taking a gander inside his room before moving her ruby hues back over to the tall frame of the lesser noble. “Captain said we’re due some bonding time…and you need time to rest since you’ve been training and out on missions everyday…” She spoke softly, one of her hands fiddling with the strap of her backpack. “So we’re going to Silvert Lake. It’s not too far, but I’ve heard it’s gorgeous.” [break][break]
The Vice-Captain of the Black Bulls was a bit nervous. She was supposed to be this person’s superior…but she wasn’t used to something like power. She didn’t want to force people to do anything they didn’t want to do, but Malcolm had ordered them to take a break. Her glossy lips rubbed together softly as she waited for him to get ready to leave. [break][break]
“There’s brooms we can borrow outside…or I can use one of my spells to get us there faster, really depends on what you enjoy more.” [break][break]

Life was getting dull, not the prospect of life but the constant activity was grinding on the young Shengxiao. He hadn’t quite understood the concept of burning yourself out on doing something because he was so use to constantly striving for his goals which were usually more a mental task then all the physical work that Chisana had been putting in since joining the Black Bulls. He was in better shape then he was all those months ago which for some may seem impossible but when you constantly trained next to and with a person who carried boulders like sack of grain there will most definitely start to experience a change.
He examined his favorite outfit and realized he needed to send them to get resized, well actually he would just order a new set and probably donate this set later on to someone who could use it. His thoughts seemed to drift a bit as he looked around his little room, it had been the better part of a year since he joined the Black bulls. Thinking back to the day he met the captain it was like truly beginning his journey as a mage, he sparred with the captain of a magic knight squad and gained the acceptance into the most chaotic squad there was, he completed various missions some of them even by himself, he had conquered his first dungeon with his relatives and didn’t need to be babysat during it, he had grown so much since he left his little village to travel and gain his grimoire. Long gone was the naïve boy who simply did things on his own and plotted and planned to take revenge against any who slighted him, no longer did he hide in a shell. Chisana could easily talk to anyone about anything now, and rarely did his obsessions cause an issue in any sense compared to his days back home. He had so much knowledge to devour and plenty of people to distract him from crossing that line, everyday he watched someone perform some new act of magic ability or physical prowess and everyday his ambition to be the mountain grew.
A knock interrupted his train of thought and making sure his room was presentable he answered the door. At his door was his new Vice Captain Rosalia, he had been there during the bout between her and the captain to see if she was worthy to have the position. They had a great celebration afterwards and it had surprisingly been a bittersweet occasion for Chisana. He greatly liked Rosa due to her easy going personality and knowledgeable mind, they had spoken quite often in passing and during the random bouts of information exchange that happened in the captain’s office and his stash of “totally not stolen” books. Chisana had grown to see the older woman as a good friend and another obsession which was quite fitting that she would be the one to stand next to the Captain who for Chisana was the end all be all of where he needed to be.
Smiling Chisana leaned against his doorframe and looked at Rosa, “A weekend off? With you Vice? Geez what lottery did I win?” Typically, Chisana was generally a more reserved individual but after constantly being in the presence of Malcolm and all his experience he had grown more comfortable with those in his squad. He was still quite reserved towards those he did not know, weren’t part of his family or his squad but that wasn’t the case in this situation.
Chisana tried to remember where the Silvert Lake was and could really only remember that it was a pretty popular spot for those who wanted to see beautiful site and to relax so it made sense that it would be the destination chosen by the Captain.
“We can always take some gol…” Chisana begun to say before he remembered that he no longer had access to his spells, he was still working on that issue at the moment and it was taking some getting use to. “Either option works for me Vice, let me just grab some things and then I’ll be ready.” Chisana quickly grabbed his “To-Go” bag that he had packed with spare clothes in case of missions or traveling back home ever came up and returned to Rosa. “I’m all set to leave how about you?” Chisana said while smiling.
Rosalia smiled as she took in Chisana’s particular features. His long black hair, bright blue eyes, softly tanned skin. She wanted to curse the gods for making someone this tall and attractive younger than her by a margin. The witch knew that if he was 18 she’d had tackled him several times already. In reality, due to how close he was with Malcolm and herself, she didn’t know how he’d react to their ordered vacation together. Her eyebrows rose softly as the boy leaned against his doorframe, particularly close to her. His scent wafted over to her, making her purse her lips. Something woody and earthy, but also lemony and fresh. It was enjoyable, while not as addictive as certain others were to her (yet). [break][break] “The Lottery where Malcolm told me we work way too fuckin’ hard and wants us to rest.” She grinned widely, taking account of the slightly spiky-er canines that Chisana adorned. The beauty was happy that he could jest around with her and she stepped back slightly as he went about the room to pick up whatever he needed to travel with. It was bag, smaller than her own. She noted that it was smart of him to always have a pre-prepared bag for whenever he needed to leave to somewhere.
[break][break] “I’m good, I came after packing, trusting that men are generally quicker than me when it comes to outfits.” Rosa chuckled, taking a jab at herself for being an ex-model and still carrying for her appearance way too much.
[break][break] She headed down the stairs to the exit of the base, giving Charles and the other members a little wave. Hopefully the base didn’t burn down completely while she was away. The Black Bulls were…chaos for the most part, but she loved ‘em anyways. Since Chisana hadn’t really had a preference, the beauty decided that the faster they get to Silvert Lake, the better.
[break][break] “Hope you don’t mind wings?” She asked, glancing back at the male over her shoulder before picking out her grimoire. “Arboreal Wings.” The witch summoned forth her spell of choice as she dipped into her mana, instantly making the air fill with a cold breeze. Here and there one would see a snowflake or two as some of the water droplets in the air froze over. A set of wings, large and crystalline in appearance spawned off of the back of both Chisana and Rosalia. They were way lighter than they looked, despite having a wide reach, and were faster than any other transportation spell she could muster.
[break][break] “I hope you’re good with speeds?” Rosa gave Chisana a wink as she lifted off gently. “Don’t get further from me than 80 meters. My mana wouldn’t be able to reach you and maintain the wings.” She explained quickly, and once she was sure he was ready to leave, the witch would shoot up in the air and start flying over to Silvert Lake, glancing over at her partner occasionally to make sure he was following her.
[break][break] “So what’s up with your grimoire?” The beauty asked at some point, trying to make conversation as her dress fluttered in the air. She was wearing shorts, so she was unbothered. The witch even did a little twirl as she enjoyed the way the wind played with her crimson locks. She loved flying since she was a child.

Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! Description: A set of two large wings appear on Rosalia’s back, along with the backs of up to 3 other of her allies of her choice. These appendages are made out of beautifully crystalized black ice sheets, that extend outwards but remain connected, almost as if feathers made out of snowflakes. They sparkle beautifully in the sunlight and almost look demonic as sunset hits the horizon and beyond that into the time of Night.

As they walked down to the entrance of the base Chisana noticed the change in the squad, it was generally the same chaotic crazy crew but now there was a hint of pride and determination to do more, be more. Chisana really noticed it when the few squad mates they passed on their way out gave their respect to Rosa as they passed it wasn’t a grand gesture but it was noticeable to those who knew how the squad worked. It made him realize how stagnant he had been even with all his training, while he had been refining techniques others had been gaining power and more as the days passed. It was just another humbling experience that the young Shengxiao had dealt with since joining the squad.
Rosa summoned forth snowflakes for them that when they landed on each of them they turned into crystal wings, Chisana hadn’t seen Rosa’s magic since the fight between her and the Captain and the memory of that fight still was burnt into his mind. It wasn’t often that you got to see higher level mages fight between each other and being able to see the captain use more then his barely trying effort against someone was a sight to behold. The wings reacted to his thoughts and after some testing Chisana found that the use of the wings was quite easy at least easy enough to get in the air and move a bit, he hadn’t felt the wind on his face since his magic had gone on the fritz. He use to travel by use of his golems all the time before whatever it was messed up his magic now he was still trying to work out that huge mess and do his best to keep that under wraps. He didn’t need the whole squad knowing he was unable to use his magic anymore or at least not in the same capability that they knew he had been able to use it before. They had traveled a bit while Chisana noticed that his Vice Captain occasionally looked back at him making sure she wasn’t leaving him behind, Chisana would smile each time assuring her that he was just enjoying the flight and wasn’t having troubles.
Though it looked like he was only going to be able to avoid the whole not being able to use his spells talk for so long and that time had come when Rosa popped the question he had been dreading to be asked and with her being someone he considered a friend and on top of that she was his Vice Captain there wasn’t much room for him to even try and evade the question.
“My grimoire is fine, as far as I can tell that is.” Chisana said as he looked at the woman in front of him. “It’s the spells that once covered the pages of the grimoire, they are there but they no longer respond to my call.” Chisana looked away and could see abode he assumed they would be staying and made his way towards it pushing off the conversation for only a short amount of time.
Rosalia had smiled and waved to the other members of the Black Bulls, pursing her lips softly, the way she always did. In truth, the Vice-Captain title hadn’t done much more in her mind about the way she was regarded by the squad, it just felt awkward because it was a title…and Rosalia was no noble that needed to constantly be bowed to. She’d lived on the street and worked horrible jobs to have the time and money to become a magic knight. The beauty had been called many names, and didn’t care at this point about being treated disrespectfully…but treated respectfully and being regarded with…she couldn’t pinpoint what it was…it was weird. It was off. It made her feel very nervous. Hopefully she got used to it. [break][break]
The ice witch was pleased that Chisana had no trouble working with her supplementary constructs spell. It was the fastest one she knew and of a relatively high level, so it made her happy that she’d managed to make it easy for others to grip onto. Her mana could be chilly and othering sometimes, but the black-haired boy had no trouble bonding with the spell and even gave her a smile when she turned back to look at him. Fuck, he was cute. [break][break]
When the beauty brought up the question of his grimoire, she raised an eyebrow at his answer. That was oddly nonspecific at first. Rosalia was about to turn forwards and let the words fade into their memory until he picked up the conversation back up with more detail, making her turn to look at him. What he was saying…it surprised her. She’d never quite heard of something like that happening. [break][break]
As she was concentrated on the thought, Rosa almost missed the place where the pair would be staying and lead Chisana down, dispelling the wings once they were both safely on ground. A lady in her late fifties seemed to have noticed them and came over with a little bow. [break][break]
“Greetings. We were awaiting you, young mages, to come to our mineral springs. They’re stimulating for magic and relaxing on your muscles…” The lady’s explaining before turning and leading the pair into a very large room with two separate beds and a view of a gorgeous hot mineral spring that was just a sliding door away from them. [break][break]
“Well I’ll be damned…the Captain spared no expense.” Rosa chuckled and thanked the lady for guiding them to their room. She gave her a little respectable bow, one she only reserved for people over a certain age before tackling he bed after the sliding door closed behind them. [break][break]
There was a small cupboard with about eight towels on them and then another sliding door which she could only assume was a bathroom. The red-haired ex-model looked up at Chisana from her bed and gave him a little wink. [break][break]
“You gonna try your bed or are you waiting for me to pull you into mine?” Rosalia would ask as she slipped her her backpack off and placed it besides her by the bed. The beauty’s ruby hues eyed him before turning to the hot water springs and sitting up/.[break][break]
“Considering your situation I think I could perhaps help…I uh read ancient runic and Draconic…and Malcolm’s probably picked this place for your magic…” Her voice grew soft, almost nurturing as she thought to their Captain’s backhanded need to care for the Bulls. She liked that about him. He was smarter than anyone gave him credit for, incredibly sneaky and very observant. It was no wonder he’d sent her here with Chisana. He’d hoped she would help him. And the beauty hadn’t even realized she’d used his first name instead of his title when she’d spoken. [break][break]
