Covering the vast majority of the island, Dagmar's Mire is a place that is made up swampy, soggy soil, a great deal of pine trees, shallow lakes and streams. While men go in from time to time for fishing, hunting and collecting wood for their ships and their crafts, many believe the place to be cursed. Infested with Drukknari and Vatnshagur, several places are haunted by the souls of those who lost their lives and never had their remains retrieved for proper burial. Still roaming the marshes in the form of shambling undead or as ethereal wraiths, this is not the place to venture into after dark or during poor weather conditions.

When making your way to the island of Grýnd, all ships are to dock at Port Njord. Being the main port of the island, the waters in front of it filled by various longboats ready to intercept any runners, it is here that local Villtsung authorities will inspect the ship's contents and passengers before allowing any outsiders access onto their island.

The capital city of the Villtsung, this place was built on top of a large flat mountain, allowing them to look over much of the island. Surrounded by walls and guard towers, the only entrances come in the form of draw bridges that are usually down, but can be pulled up in a matter of minutes. Possessing various taverns and establishments were one might go for some quality liquor, the most imposing building stands at the center of the city. The great hall where King Njord lives, the place where he and his warriors feast and drink, a place made from large amounts of pine wood, as well as the bones of the false god Ragnvald. As this city is a place where warriors gather between raids, they are not the most accepting folk, being downright violent towards new faces. Act tough or talk a big game, and one should not be surprised to find an axe getting tossed in their face.

A collective name for a bunch of smaller settlements located along the eastern portion of the island's shoreline, The Settlements exist out of wooden buildings surrounded by a fence of poles and spikes to keep any threats from the Mire outside, as well as actually being built on top of wooden poles to keep the threats from the sea at bay. Filled with hunters, fishermen, craftsmen and a select group of farmers tending to the small bit of tillable soil on the island, the Settlements are the location for all those who do not wish to be raiders in the service of King Njord.
