The black bull was a bit surprised about her question. As he never expected her to ask such a question. It wasn't often people asked someone how they made it into the Magic Knights. Usually, the higher nobility could easily get inside the Magic Knights without taking the exam due to their influence in certain squads.
Charles explained to her how he made it inside the Magic Knights, even someone with his personality was able to make it, but there was more in him than just that lazy personality. He was perceptive and skilled in identifying his enemy's weaknesses and the strengths of his teammates. If he wasn't for his laziness Charles will be someone quite capable of taking the role of a leader, but that is something he hasn't realized yet. "Thanks..." He accepted her compliment about his silver magic. It wasn't often people complimented him, but there were people that have complimented him about his silver magic. It was extremely rare to see a commoner with silver magic, even though silver magic users were rare in general especially with the lightning properties it possessed it made it even rarer.
"I guess so." He shrugged. She was right the Black Bulls brought different types of personalities into the table. They were known for being a squad of misfits so everybody in there had some sort of quirky personality that made them different from the rest. "Yeah, like more than half of the squad pretty sure?" A lot of the squad drank a lot, he was sure it was at least more than half of the squad did that. They were really a group of misfits, but he was sure as hell other squads did things like that during their free time.
It seemed like the blue-haired elf also seemed to like tea as he did. There was nothing better than an iced tea after a hot day of patrolling in the town. It felt quite refreshing. "Hah... That works for me, sure." He accepted the blue-haired elf's request to be friends with a smile, something that he didn't show, but it was a sign of appreciation from the young magic knight. He personally didn't mind. It's not like he had many friends in the first place even though he was in the Magic Knights and a member of the Black Bulls, comrades and friends were two different things. The people inside the Black Bulls were comrades, of course. Plus friending someone that wasn't a Magic Knight felt more real, to say the least. "Sure, that cake left me thirsty..."
"Eh, I was just wondering. You're an elf so you possess a high magical ability, no?" Charles shrugged as she asked if she looked like one. Well, he never thought of that, but since she was an elf and there were usually a lot of people that wanted to join the Magic Knights maybe she was one of those people? "Oh a Vice-Captain? Which one? He raised an eyebrow with curiosity, even though he wasn't the type of person to constantly train. A citizen getting trained by a Vice-Captain was something he has never heard about before. So this got his attention. "I don't blame you. If I was in your position I'll probably do the same thing. Stay all day sleeping sounds like a good idea. I haven't been able to do that in a while." He spoke about his life without becoming a Magic Knight. If the silver mage never joined the Black Bulls he will probably be a NEET. This added to his lazy personality. "Eh? I never thought of that actually, but I assume the squadron of the Vice-Captain who trained you picked your interest?"
Hearing him talk about his history definitely gave her more understanding about his personality. "What would you say is your greatest strength then?" Propping her elbows on the table, she scrutinized the young man before her. "If I had to guess, it would be...hmm, something in regards to perspective? Because back at the Basin, you saw my weakness in durability and gave me that buff to cover that. And you seem loyal to your squad, so that’s also commendable." Despite his seemingly lazy attitude, she was sure that he would be the one who would never let a team member down, no matter what.
Concerning her race, Suna bit back a laugh. "Yes, I think I’m an elf." Then she nodded to his comment about elves possessing high magical abilities. "That’s what I’ve been told, but I don’t think it gives too much of an advantage though." She shrugged her shoulders. Honestly, she never thought it gave her an edge over others. After all, she was scorned for it when she was younger, and thus never thought of it in a really positive light. "Hard work pays off more than natural talents or gifts."
Suna tapped her chin absentmindedly, her head tilted to the side as she thought back. Yes, she knew that it was strange that a vice captain would be willing to train a normal citizen. "Well..." A little smile crept up on her face. "I never asked for the training, actually. I just wanted to watch." A light laugh. "Things like that don't happen often, right? A vice captain training a random citizen off the streets?" She had to ask for the confirmation, because she had found it difficult to believe herself, but thought it must have been just a difference in culture. She had always thought there needed to be a lengthy process in order to join a squad. At least, that was her experience—except she did not fully follow through it to completion. However, it would make sense if nobility could get in easily. Money and personal rank talks, after all.
"The vice captain I trained with? Ah, well, I heard she was the fastest mage in Clover Kingdom, and wanted to watch her train some of her squad members. Watch and pick up a few tips here and there, you know? Well," she sighed, though in amusement rather than unhappiness, "that didn’t happen. She told me to fight her and ended up breaking a few ribs here and there. It was all good though," the elf added quickly. "She healed me afterwards and all, so no harm done. She also taught me a few good tips, as well as a good workout routine."
In truth, she really admired the pink-haired mage, and would love to train under her again. Suna only regretted that she had not felt ready to join the squad when the opportunity came. She felt like she needed to bring her skills up a bit more before she was worthy of joining any group. "Maybe I’ll join one later in the future, but at the moment, I enjoy meeting different Magic Knights without being caught up in the squad dramas." Something akin to hilarity lit up those azure eyes. Of course, she was sure she could befriend others even if she did end up in a division, but it was a little different when she is just a mere citizen. It was almost like she was in a safe middle ground. Then she realized she never actually named the vice captain’s name, and almost smacked herself on the forehead. "My apologies! The vice captain I trained with was Lydia Ravencrest, of the Crimson Lions. I don’t suppose you know about her?"
She pushed back her chair and stood up. "Up to get that tea now?" All that talking had made her thirsty—which could be said as a first, since she was usually not that talkative. Guess good company does breed good conversations, as they say.

Suna got to know more about the lazy magic knight known as Charles. A part of his story and how he ended up in the Black Bulls. She then asked him what was his greatest strength, for the most part, he was too lazy to even bother to think about what his greatest strength as a person or as a magic knight in general. "My greatest strength..? Eh... I guess it wasn't hard for me to tell, usually, restraining spells should be a bit more durable, no? About loyalty to my squad, I guess so. People who turn their backs on their comrades are assholes for the most part. I at least have some sense of decency." He didn't really talk about himself nor he bothered to think about his personal things most of the time, but maybe that should change for good, who knows.
"You think? Well, your ears kind of make it obvious that you're an elf. There's a lot of things that play along with a battle than just magical ability, yes. For example, a more experienced mage will be able to defeat an unexperienced mage even though they possess a higher magical ability. So yes, it isn't everything." A lot of variables played during the fight. The type of magic being used, the experience, and the strategies employed. Those were decisive factors. "If you say so." The black bull wasn't a hard worker himself, even though he will definitely work for something he saw a purpose to it. Most of the time was spent on him slacking off in the base doing what he wanted to do, sometimes sleeping, sometimes eating, sometimes reading something, but rarely.
The blue-haired elf began to talk about the Vice-Captain that trained her. It was unusual for a Vice-Captain to train someone, especially a civilian like Suna. "The faster mage of the Clover Kingdom, huh..." The moment she mentioned that someone already came up to his mind. "I see, well you can always learn something from someone as a Vice-Captain they're usually the most experienced Magic Knights inside the squad, after the Captain obviously. Oh crap... Well, that's to be expected when you want to try and fight a Vice-Captain. They're on a whole other level compared to the rest of the squad. I assume your wounds got healed afterward?" She also mentioned the squad dramas, which was often an issue every once in a while. They were some good magic knights, but they were some who liked the idea of abusing their power against others. "Fair enough... Yeah, I figured that out when you mentioned she was the fastest mage in the Clover Kingdom. Anyone doesn't even have an idea of who she has probably lived under a rock."
Charles stood up alongside with Suna as she asked if they should go to the tea shop. "Sure, I'm starting to feel thirsty anyway." The silver mage replied and stretched his arms as he stood up from his seat. Even though he was lazy he never had an issue with starting a conversation with people and out of his usual monotonous shell, he was actually a very social person. More than people think he is.
After stretching he started to make his way alongside Suna towards the tea shop, his laid back attitude still there even for a Magic Knight. Even though his laid back attitude was shown, he was still aware of his surroundings taking a look around at things. Eventually arrived to the tea shop the black bull decided to ask the elf another question. "So. What's your favorite type of tea?"
Suna bit back a smile. She had not expected the Magic Knight to literally take her sarcastic comment about being an elf in account. But she would let that slide. At least it had provided her with some personal amusement. "Yes, training with the vice captain was certainly something. A great experience, though." Whatever the outcome, she was grateful for the opportunity.
"She was nice enough to leave my harp intact. Bones she could break and heal, but if she had done anything to my harp..." The elf shuddered to think of it. To her, her musical instruments were the most important things to her. Any damage to them was worse than any physical damage to herself. They were her weapons, her magic wand to control her sound magic; it was similar to how a sword is to a swordsman, or golems to a puppeteer mage. They are essential for her magic, and in her case, had a very personal meaning and connection with their owner. They were like an extension of herself, in other words.
At the moment, the blue-haired mage only used two instruments: the harp and guzheng. She has really only utilized the harp, as it was more portable and was not as limiting. On the other hand, if it was a full-fledged battle, she would definitely summon her guzheng, as it gave her more range and more control over her sound. So far, she has not had an appropriate time to whip that out, though. Nonetheless, if she was ever to be caught in a situation without her trusty instruments...well, she would have to rely on her aura, which was something she had not explored very much yet. She made a mental note to develop that secondary element of hers. After all, there was no knowing when one day she was caught without time to summon her harp or guzheng.
Seems like he was also keen on getting something to drink. Suna let him lead the way to one of the nearby stores. She craned her neck up to see the sign. A specialized tea shop, it seemed, which made the elf clap her hands together in excitement. "Jasmine green tea!" She said promptly to his question of her favorite tea. "But honestly, any type of green tea is the summer, and black tea in the colder seasons. Green tea is considered ‘cooler’ in its essence, and is good for cooling your system. As for black tea, it’s basically vice versa." She peered through the large window at the storefront. "Mmm, I wonder what kind of blends they have… How about you?" She swung her head to face Charles. "What’s your go-to?"

Charles seemed somewhat relieved that at least her injuries were healed. Broken bones in battle and having nobody with healing magic around to heal those injuries sounded like a pain in the ass to him. "Oh, I see. Well, at least you got healed... A harp? Does that hold some sort of importance to you? Then again I don't think something like that can be healed with magic." It seemed like that harp was valuable for the blue-haired elf. He didn't understand the reasoning behind it, but he could understand that it had some sort of value for her. Then again that kind of thing isn't able to be repaired through the use of healing magic. Now that he remembered she did use some sort of strange magic back at the Basin. He assumed that instrument was related to her magic somehow, no?
The two made their way to the tea shop. Where Suna said that her favorite type of tea was jasmine green tea because it was better in the summer season. Which he had to agree with, he mainly liked green tea due to how it was able to cool him down during hot seasons. Especially after a patrol on a sunny day. "I'd go for green tea, to be honest. As you said it is better to cool someone off on a sunny day." He walked into the tea shop and went to the counter with a lady that was ready to take their order. The silver mage proceeded to order an iced tea, he was thirsty after eating that cake something cold will help him out, or at least that's what he thought. The waitress handed him a glass of iced tea to which he drank. A sound of relief can be heard coming from him, he was quite thirsty by the sound of that. "Finally..." He looked at Suna who ordered her tea after him. The young magic knight decided to go outside after and take a look at his surroundings while drinking from the tea. He decided to look at the sky, the sun was starting to descend. He was meant to be back at the base around thirty minutes ago, but he didn't realize that earlier due to the fact that he was conversing with Suna. "Oh crap, I forgot..." He quickly finished drinking from his glass of tea and looked over at Suna. Charles seemed to be in a rush for some reason and that's because he was supposed to be in the base, if he takes longer they will think he fell asleep during work which will result in him getting yelled. "I'm sorry! I have to go, I got distracted while talking to you that I forgot I was supposed to be at the base thirty minutes ago and I don't feel like getting yelled at. Anyway, it was nice seeing you!" The complete opposite from his lazy behavior Charles seemed like he was in a rush. He placed the glass on a table of the shop, the black bull then ran off towards the direction of the Headquarters that were not too far away from he town itself while waving once at the elf.
The silver mage had brought up a good point. What if her harp really had been damaged? It was neither an item nor a magical spell—it was both. However, they do come from her grimoire, so perhaps they were more magical than physical. But as far as she was concerned, she had always taken extremely good care of her summoned instruments, and will continue to do so. It was strange, as the only way she could control her sound magic was through an instrument. Sure, she could lace some of her magic to her words when she is trying to convince someone, attempting to sway them. But other than that, she could not tap into its source by sheer will alone. It was both an advantage and a disadvantage, she supposed.
As Suna waited for her tea to be made, she noted how the lady behind the counter carefully packed the tea leaves before brewing it. She had made sure that the temperature was just right for the leaves to steep, and even the ice cubes they used were circular. After getting her drink, she took a sip, and smiled in satisfaction. This place knew how to make their drinks. She followed the Magic Knight outside, noting that the sky was starting to turn red and orange. Was it already sunset? She had not realized that so much time had passed. Hearing his sudden exclamation, her expression had instantly turned into a worried look.
"Ah, I’m so sorry to keep you!" She winced, knowing that she was the reason why he was late. "Oh no, is your captain going to punish you? You can blame it on me!" Already the knight was gulping down the drink, and getting ready to run back to the base. "Great seeing you again! And tell your captain it’s my fault!" She waved back as he took off, until she could not see the fluttering black mantle anymore.
Unlike Charles, she was in no rush. Suna took her sweet time finishing her drink, fully appreciating its delicate flavor and refreshing taste. This tea shop had good brews, and she would definitely be coming back here for the tea whenever she was around the area. Who knows? Perhaps one of these days the sound mage would even drop by the Black Bulls base...
