In a land that is ruled by the strong, bloodshed and murder are not exactly uncommon. When there are disagreements, people fight. When one steals from another, people fight. And when people get drunk, people fight. Among the Villtsung, an argument escalating into a fight to the death happens more frequently than one might imagine, as many tend to take their disagreements into the mires so no one will interrupt. In the aftermath, the bodies are left out in the mire, to be dealt with by the Drukknari or to eventually turn into a Draugr or a Hegthandi. It is for this reason that people tend to go out from time to time to collect some of these bodies, sparing them from their fate and giving them a proper burial. And for this grim task, all hands are accepted and much wanted.

[break]Additional Information: The Drukknari are scavengers that feast on carrion, meaning they are less used to actually fighting and prefer other creatures to do the killing for them. As such, when injured, they are more prone to scurry away than they would be to continue the fight, as they are only around to scare people away from the corpses they had set their sights on. Waiting for the corpses to get ripe and bloated enough for them to eat, them being hoisted onto carts was not something they took into account, and are by no means in favor of.

[break]Additional Information: When the body is not properly reclaimed and buried, or given the proper rights, it is possible that being out in the swamp waters for long enough infuses the body with enough mana to let it rise again. No longer possessing any of their personality traits, they are nothing more than shambling shells of their former selves, roaming about with whatever weapons they had on them at the point of death clutched in their hands. At least, this is what many believe.
