[attr="class","raescroll"] About a week ago, Jevi had taken the Magic Knight exams and had accepted a place in the Crimson Lion squad. From that day on, he was now an official Magic Knight and it only burned a fire in him to become stronger and make sure that the Crimson Lion’s captain wouldn’t regret his choice in offering him a place within the squad. In order to become stronger he had to expand his magic from what it offered at its base, and he had recently thought of something. What if he could use elements other than just ice? If he could learn elements from other Magic Knights then he could make himself far more versatile in combat and in turn provide better protection to the Clover Kingdom. It was absolutely worth a shot, so now he just needed others who could help him out and teach them about the elements they used. [break][break] The first person to come to mind to ask for help was a witch he had met a couple years ago and had become friends with; Synthia. The girl’s magic was akin to Aura in that it was a dense form of magic that she could utilize in various ways. To Jevi, this kind of magic might be the best first step to take in order to learning to use other elements. When it came to mana he had quite a lot of potential and he felt he could easily take to Synthia’s form of magic. The witch had also taken the exam at the same time as him, and had accepted a place with the Black Bulls. While he would have liked to be in the same squad as her, it didn’t mean they couldn’t hang out or work together. All the Magic Knights were there to protect the kingdom, so in a way they were still working together towards a common goal and interest. [break][break] In order to reach Synthia, Jevi had written her a letter which was to be delivered to the Black Bulls headquarters. Synthia would find a short explanation in there on what Jevi hoped to achieve by learning from her magic, and now that they were both Magic Knights he had no doubt that she too wished to improve. It was possible she would get a better understanding of her own magic when she’d guide him on how to use it. The young elf had also detailed the location and time for their meet up, wanting to see her at the training fields at the Ravencrest Estate early in the morning so that they had the entire day to practice. It was a neutral ground where they were allowed to train. It was incredibly kind of the Ravencrest family to open their doors to others like that, and he appreciated it greatly. [break][break] True to his nature, Jevi was slightly early. He didn’t like to make people wait for him, and would rather be the one waiting for a couple of minutes. Besides, it gave him time to focus on the flow of mana within himself. Today he’d have to push it to its limits in order to have some form of breakthrough. This was the only way for him to grow stronger and make himself more useful. For now that was the only goal. Once he’d reach greater heights and had more feats under his belt he could set his sight on the further future. Right now he wanted to make sure his focus remained on one singular thing in order to help him reach his goals. If he spread his attention too wide, then nothing would be achieved. That was what he believed anyway, so he’d take it all one step at a time. [break][break] It was only when he heard footsteps approach that his concentration on his own mana was broken, and a smile appeared on his face before he even opened his eyes as he knew who it was. Synthia had arrived. Jevi opened his eyes, giving his friend a warm, welcoming smile. “So how has life with the Black Bulls been treating you, Synthia?” The elf was curious to his friend’s experiences with one of the more infamous squads, but he felt that was exactly where she could shine. A place with unorthodox methods felt like it would resonate with the witch. “I know you read the letter, otherwise you wouldn’t be here, but I really hope you can help me out here. I believe I should be able to utilize more elements with my swords, but I’ll really need to understand those elements before anything else.” As per usual whenever he asked for a favor, Jevi would give Synthia a slight bow with his hand over his heart. Expressing his gratitude was something he deemed quite important, even if Synthia was a friend of his. [break][break]

[attr="class","Syn1image"]❝With a Singular Strike~❞
[attr="class","Syn1scroll"] Synthia stretched as she woke up to the morning sun in her eyes. Gods, it was too early for this crap, but she promised she'd be up earlier than she normally would. Though, maybe that was due to the fact she'd spent a little too long last night beating up what logs she could find in the Forest. Not that it was a bad thing, mind you, but she liked being able to freely flex her muscles now. No more of that stupid keeping up appearances crap, she could just go all out whenever she wanted wherever she wanted
...At least tentatively, as she reached over and grabbed a peach from her hat and started to crunch on it. Looking up from her bed, she noted how, yes, she was still in the Black Bulls Headquarters, and yes, she was still a Magic Knight... at least somewhat. Still hadn't been deployed in any capacity yet, and she was bogged down when she had to follow orders, and not cause complete and utter collateral destruction, but what could you do. Not much she could do though, when the passion and flow of battle overcame your senses. That's what she enjoyed most anyways, though right now, the lull of boredom overcame her brain, as she sighed, and flopped back on her bed.
Or at least she would've, when she got a letter from someone she'd met a while ago. Were they friends? Yeah, somewhat. His goals were his, her goals were hers, sometimes they overlapped. All she knew about the kid was he wanted to overthrow his family house or whatever, and he wanted to get stronger to do that. She respected that at least. Why he was still a bit more tolerable than most others that she met, who couldn't care less about how strong they got, just that they got into a Magic Knight squad.
Speaking of though, that Jevi boy had gotten himself into the Crimson Lion Squad. Color her impressed, he managed to get somewhere cool. Though Jevi seemed to be wanting to learn how her magic worked just a bit. Or at least learn from it. She tilted her head, before letting out a chuckle, and grabbing her things to get herself dressed, before picking up her stuff and heading out, making sure to grab her hat and the half-eaten peach she'd taken a bite of along the way as she chomped down on it again. Off to the Ravencrest Estate then. No time like the present.
---
And so she took off, the trees and buildings around her floating by as she lazily sat on her broom watching the sights and sounds go by until she'd reached her destination. She walked into the Ravencrest Estate, and though she got a few weird looks and sideglances here and there, she paid them no mind as she walked in and watched as Jevi opened his eyes from what appeared to be meditation as he greeted her, giving her a smile. Of course, her grin was bolstered, as she raised her hand in greeting as well, before letting out a soft chuckle.
"Still the same as ever, eh Jevi? Yeah, the Bulls're nice and welcoming, and they're at least pretty nice, though I still need something to punch or else I'm gonna die of boredom, so y'know, same as usual."
She shrugged, as she waved her hand and shrugged, her demeanor not changing as she waved off her hand and let Jevi talk, as she nodded a bit.
"Yeah, yeah, read your letter, don't know how much else I can help besides just knock you around a bit. I don't know jack about how your Swords and stuff works."
Jevi proceeded to put his hand over his heart in that sincere gesture that he always did as Synthia laughed a little bit, walking up to him, before wrapping her arm around his shoulder as she patted his back, nudging his shoulder. She should be used to it by now, but there was just something about how sincere the boy was that had wormed it's way into him being a good friend. And because of that, it made it all the more fun for her as she let go and stood a fair bit back away from him. She smirked a bit as she cocked her head once more.
"Well, Haha, alright then Jevi. Let's get started then, yeah? No way to learn best with my magic without getting a good warm up in ya?"
Combat Summary
[attr="class","Syn1scroll2"] TL;DR: And so we begin! Meeting Jevi, let's get started ya Spells: N/A Items: Magic Knight Mantle
Hearing and sensing Synthia’s presence is what made Jevi open his eyes, smiling wide as he saw his friend land nearby. The elf greeted her with a wave, being as friendly and welcoming as ever as he inquired about how life had been treating Synthia over at the Black Bulls. It was a fitting squad for the little battle maniac that she was, always doing things in an unorthodox way and trying to find the next challenge on her path. He knew her well enough to know that getting her to teach him about her magic wasn’t going to be easy whatsoever. Synthia wasn’t the most theoretical person out there, preferring to be hands-on, yet experiencing her magic first hand likely wasn’t enough to achieve what Jevi had set out to do today. Especially with Synthia’s magic being quite unique in its own right. It was going to be challenging, but he believed the witch could provide him with the knowledge he sought.
[break][break]
His suspicions were proven to be correct immediately as Synthia talked about life at the Black Bulls being fine, yet still wanting to punch something or someone every now and again. The elf couldn’t help but chuckle, before getting into the full explanation of what he hoped to do today. As with any favor he’d ask for, Jevi gave the girl a slight bow with his hand over his heart. It was a gesture he’d gotten used to, and was conveyed in utmost sincerity. “Well, knocking me around won’t help me understand your magic I’m afraid.” His smile then turned into a slight grin, as he enjoyed teasing Synthia at times. “Besides, who says I’ll be the one getting knocked around?” It was just some friendly banter, and Jevi couldn’t help but laugh a little right after he had said it.
[break][break]
Synthia then moved closer and wrapped her arm around his shoulder, and Jevi returned the gesture with a smile. He had learned that Synthia was quite the physical person when it came to expressing affection, be it friendly or not. Jevi himself didn’t mind in the slightest. He quite enjoyed it in fact, as it reminded him that he wasn’t alone in this world. There were people around him who would help him reach his goals and that was quite the reassuring thought for the young elf who had severed the ties with his family. Before he knew it she had backed away from him, creating a distance between the two of them. The witch spoke up about wanting to get started, believing a warm up to be needed.
[break][break]
Jevi sighed a little and rubbed the back of his head, looking across the training field towards Synthia. “A spar wasn’t what I was hoping for, Synthia. Look, if you help me get the hang of your Aura magic then I promise you an all-out match between the two of us. Deal?” It was the only way he would be able to get through to her, because if he didn’t stop her now then she might end up too tired to teach him even the smallest bit of her magic. “You know my swords are enhanced with ice magic, but I feel I can enhance them with other kinds of magic too. Won’t you tell me about your magic? How does it feel? How do you use it? Share what you know, and I’ll try to see if I can replicate it into a sword!” Jevi was definitely getting excited over the prospect of unlocking more of the potential of his sword magic. If this worked then there was no limit to what he could achieve!

[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
Synthia couldn't help but feel that Jevi was at home at least to some degree in the Crimson Lions. He was kind, and had the best of interests for everyone he cared for, which was something that Synthia enjoyed about the white-haired boy. And of course, he seemed to be acclimating to it quite well enough if he was this cheery. While the request was a tad odd, she didn't mind it, and instead, seemed a bit eager to actually help Jevi out with figuring out this thing with Aura Magic or whatever. She didn't know if things like that could happen with magic, but magic itself was a bit of a touchy thing, so who knows. Sure she may have been a bit more straightforwards than most mages in their time, but that didn't mean that she could at least try to figure it out somehow.
Of course, Synthia's hopes for a fight with her fellow knight were instantly quashed as he simply stated that, no, knocking each other around wouldn't help him understand how her magic worked. While at it, he added a small chuckle at the situation, as Synthia's face pouted a little bit, and she crossed her arms, huffing a bit as she looked at Jevi with an expression that was a mix between resignment and disappointment.
"Tch, fiiiine Snowy~ And we both know you've only won... uh... however many times you did, I uh... whatever it doesn't matter, I can still totally kick your butt!"
She was a bit excited though, when Jevi stated that, if she could help him figure this out, then they could fight later. And in all honesty, she was... well, somewhat fine with that, so she'd take it. Though, he wasn't looking for a spar, she still wanted one, just to see how the two were faring since they were both Magic Knights. Whatever, he promised a fight, that meant he would keep his word, as long as she kept hers, as she let out a soft sigh. He'd been successful in defusing her, at least for now. While her flame had been stowed, she was still raring to get those emotions burning.
"Hah, fine, deal, you owe me a fight after this. "
Once they were across from each other though, he went into a bit of explanation about his magic, saying that he could enhance his with Ice Magic, though he theorized that maybe he could enhance them with other kinds of magic as well. As he did his explaining, she reached up to her hat, and picked off a peach, chomping down on a side, as she held her head pensively in thought. How did it feel to use her magic? That was... a peculiar question, as she walked over, walking in circles and pacing a bit as she tried to think about it.
How did it feel to use her magic? That was a bit of a hard question to get wrapped around her head, since... well, again, she mostly just went off of how she felt in the heat of the moment... Maybe that was the best way to explain it, as she chomped down on her peach again, and started re-iterating her thoughts.
"Honestly, not much I can really explain about my magic except I just kinda... go off of how I feel in the moment, y'know? It just kinda... comes to me? It's hard to really explain, when I'm fighting someone who gives me a challenge, in the heat of combat, it just sparks a fire in my soul that just wants to burn and keep fighting. Like nothing in the world's gonna stop me."
She paused, though, when she thought again to Jevi asking about how she used her magic, which earned another chuckle from Synthia as she watched his face get a bit overexcited at the prospect of learning something new. With that though, Synthia chomped down on the peach again as she mused to herself.
"That's a lot easier to answer. You've seen how I fight, you were there during the Magic Knight Exams. You just gotta strike hard and fast. Focus on a singular point. A single, determined strike against a sole point could hurt just as much as any ol fancy spear or sword. Even if you stab 'em bare-handed, that's how I like using my magic. If I put enough emotion and focus into my strikes, my fists light on fire and my soul ignites with that burning passion, and I feel like I can just burn down whatever I need to, even if that punk's got some fancy armor or whatever."
She paused, her face tilting in thought once again as she idly rubbed the back of her head, still nibbling on the peach as she tilted her head to face back to Jevi once more.
"Hope that helps with what you're trying to do. Kinda hard to put it into applicable terms and such."

A laugh escaped the young elf’s lips as he saw Synthia’s pout upon his tease. How could he not poke a little fun at this friend when this was the humorous result? The witch crossed her arms before answering him, calling Jevi by a nickname she’d come up with a long time ago; Snowy. Jevi didn’t mind the nickname in the slightest. In fact, the elf found himself to be quite amused by it as it was rather accurate. Not only did his hair resemble freshly fallen snow, his swords also had snowy wisps around them whenever he summoned them. To him the nickname was on point, and Jevi knew that Synthia meant no disrespect either. It was friendly banter, and having a little bit of a rivalry going on between the two was only a good thing. It helped him push to greater heights and he hoped that Synthia felt the same way as he wanted to help her improve too. Today could also give her more understanding of her own magic, forcing her to think about it rather than just using what felt right as she usually did.
[break][break]
The disappointment on her face didn’t go unnoticed by the elf, and so Jevi would make sure to entice the witch with an offer she likely wasn’t going to refuse. He knew exactly how the witch thought and operated, so it only made sense that he could play into her feelings and wants in order to both get what they wanted out of today’s training session. “I believe us to be rather even. It was only a joke, Synthia.” He chuckled again, enjoying the tough girl act that Synthia tended to put up. He knew deep down she was a kind person, even if she was a battle maniac at times and wanted to let out all her pent up aggression and energy. So he did the only thing he could do; offer her a spar in return for her help with learning about her magic which could lead to a breakthrough in his own. “You got it, we’ll have a spar afterwards whether I can get it to work or not.” A promise was a promise, and it would take a whole lot for Jevi to go back on a promise he made. Especially a promise to a dear friend.
[break][break]
As Jevi explained his ideas to Synthia, she grabbed a peach out of her hat. While he didn’t question this habit of hers, he did find it odd that she kept fruit in there. Then again, that was on her, and didn’t matter at all to him. Who was he to judge? Perhaps her dress didn’t have any pockets to keep her food. Though he himself didn’t want to think about having fruit rolling around on his head all day long. Either way, fruit or not, Jevi had a couple of questions to ask about her magic which he needed to know and understand before he could even try to replicate it with a sword of his own. How did her magic feel? How did she use it? Would that be the way he could use it too? Those were the things he needed to find out, and thankfully Synthia could answer him decently well. It was to be expected that a magic like Aura was very much based on going with the moment and emotions at the point in time.
[break][break]
So emotions were the key to her magic, huh? Jevi nodded in understanding as he moved his right hand in front of his chest. “Emotions huh?” He moved his index finger towards his thumb, and at the moment they touched a short sword started to form right in front of him. It was a sword made of steel, with some scratches and chips on the blade, but steel nonetheless. The hilt was covered in leather, and the hilt was a cross guard one in order to protect his own hand. However, this sword did not show any snowy wisps at the moment, as he intentionally only formed a sword in order to try and utilize Synthia’s Aura magic. “Any emotion in particular that fuels you? Anger? Love? Happiness?” It was an important question, though he was quite sure love wasn’t the emotion that fueled Synthia whenever she was fighting. It was more likely to be anger or excitement or something. Still, it was another detail to the puzzle.
[break][break]
As Jevi closed his eyes and focused on his feelings, he asked about how Synthia used her magic. Now that was way simpler for her to explain, as she began by telling him that he should know by now which made him chuckle. “Still, any detail helps.” He listened closely to Synthia’s explanation as she told him that the only thing that mattered to her was striking hard and fast. She focused all her magic on a singular point, resulting in a single, determined strike. Again she mentioned putting emotion into her attacks, so that was a rather important aspect of her magic unlike his own. Jevi had never felt the need to put emotion into his move, the most important aspect being focused and in control in his own experience. Apparently this was just going to be par for the course for the young elf if he wanted to succeed in learning other types of magic to enhance his swords with. “So passion is the most important emotion…” He mumbled to himself, being fully focused on this singular task at hand.
[break][break]
When Jevi thought about his own passion, then it was bound to protecting the people around him. To serving the kingdom in order to ensure everyone could live a peaceful and fulfilling life. A passion to create a world in which one’s status didn’t determine ones options and possibilities in life. What Jevi wanted was a world in which everyone was free to pursue their dreams and make them a reality. What people should be judged on were their merit and feats, not their bloodline or heritage. Did he have an advantage when it came to mana with both his own heritage and four leaf grimoire? Absolutely, but that didn’t exempt him from having to work hard in order to improve himself and earn his place in the world. As Synthia wondered whether her explanation was sufficient, Jevi nodded quietly as a faint blue glow began to cover the blade and his body.
[break][break]
However, he couldn’t keep it going and it eventually faded just as quickly as it had shown. As it faded, Jevi’s eyes opened and he frowned. “Hm. It’s not as easy as I hoped it would be, but I do believe I’ve made some progress?” Jevi was gazing at the short sword for a moment before he looked back to Synthia with an apologetic smile “I’m sorry. Is there anything else you could me about that you think might be helpful? Perhaps a demonstration?” The young elf felt bad about having to bother his friend more, but he felt like he was close to a breakthrough. If he could do this with her magic, imagine what he could do with other kinds of magic? It could make him so much more versatile and thus useful to the Crimson Lion squad and the Clover Kingdom.

[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
Jevi was a bit of a dork, teasing and messing with her in such a way that pushed and prodded at Synthia just a bit. Not that she didn't like it. It just reinforced the fact that Jevi was a friend, and someone she could rely on in a fight if he was able to keep up that friendly banter. Well, that and he just liked pushing her buttons. Something that irked her, but she still enjoyed it, since it was all mostly in good fun when things weren't serious. Especially like right now, with a bunch of downtime in between.
Synthia watched as Jevi took into considerations all the stuff that she'd just explained about her magic. How passion and emotion were the main caveats for how she used her magic, and how she tended to let her emotion drive her magical power. He would ask about which emotion was the one that fueled her the most, and she held her head in thought, before shrugging as she leaned back. She watched him form that sword of his, though without the icy frosty bits this time, as he tried to recreate whatever it was that Synthia used to fuel her own magic. He asked about the emotions she might have used, and for that, she really only had one answer.
"No real way to really put it into words other than just sheer determination. That feeling of facing a proper challenge, knowing you gotta put everything into each strike, that unyielding feeling of never giving up or backing down, to never give in, that's what I can really describe what I feel when I'm fighting."
She watched a little excitedly as Jevi would go on to try putting that same passion she had for singular combat into his sword. The passion of whatever he was using was there, but it seemed he was still a bit rigid. But that seemed to be enough as a faint blue covered his blade, and she clapped. She watched as the blues faded and Jevi frowned, but Synthia was excited as she nudged his shoulder, and smiled.
"Oy, oy, loosen up a bit Jevi, you got it to appear first try, not many can do that y'know!"
She giggled as she watched him with that doofy apologetic smile of his, and he started thinking of what else might be helpful in the process of learning how her Aura worked. She also thought about it for a sec, finishing off the last bite of her peach, before nodding once and clamping her hand shut, crushing the core and letting it burn away to dust, before she shook her hands, and stepped a bit back, so Jevi could see what she was planning... She relaxed, opening her hands, as she chuckled again, a fire lit under her eyes. She'd been waiting for a chance to show off like this, and so she took the chance as her soul ignited once more.
"A demonstration huh? Sure! Really though, loosen up Snowy~. Your form's too rigid. Relax, and just let your emotions control how it comes out. It's better to just let it flow out naturally, and just let it free. Like... Hragh!"
She brought her hands back, focusing on the open sky, before she started. A swift kick upwards as fire and stone ignited under her feet, and she went flying up sending that blaze upwards into the sky, before she swiftly brought that kick back down igniting the floor once again as fire and magma seemed to burst just a bit underneath where she had kicked, and the magic around her faded, leaving nothing but dust around her as she dusted off her dress, and she stood back up and looked back at Jevi with that same cheeky smile. The fire around her soul died off again, but that little fleeting moment of showing off was something that she'd been needing from this.
"Well, like that. So just relax Jevi~ let loose your passions and let your heart take control, not your mind... well, that's how I do it, dunno if that'd work for you but no harm in trying."
She had a big smile on her face, and while Jevi may have felt bad about having to bother her, she didn't mind at all. Jevi was a friend after all, and she knew that he'd always have her back, so why not have his while he figured out how this magic worked. Speaking of though, she watched expectantly and patiently to see how his Aura might manifest with this particular magic. Would it be the same icy cold as he normally had? Or would it be something more passionate, like hers? There were a lot of questions and ideas that she wondered about, as she watched with bated breaths, curiosity peaking as she waited.
Combat Summary
[attr="class","Syn1scroll2"] TL;DR: And so Synthia explains a bit more, plus some Physical Demonstration! Spells: N/A Items: Magic Knight Mantle
With their friendly banter out of the way their true training really began. Jevi had various questions about Synthia’s Aura magic. The young elf was aware that it was one of the rarer kinds of magic currently known, but that alone didn’t tell him enough. In fact, it meant that there was even less information for him to go off of when it came to trying to imitate it. That’s why he needed to know from Synthia how it felt for the witch to use her magic and how she used it as well. As it turned out, emotions played a big part in Synthia’s abilities. These emotions were primarily determination and passion. It wasn’t like Jevi lacked any form of passion, though his passion was less focused on fighting for the sake of it like Synthia’s was. Determination was no problem in his mind, as he was quite a headstrong young man to the point he stood up to his own father and cut ties with his family to make it on his own terms.
[break][break]
The young elf summoned a regular short sword for himself to hold and apply Synthia’s teachings to, and as he closed his eyes and focused he asked more questions to Synthia. Again, no other emotions played a big part in Synthia’s experience as she repeated what she had already shared with him. Apparently being backed into a corner helped Synthia draw on her power, which was an interesting bit of information for Jevi to learn about considering his fighting style was to back someone into a corner by controlling the battlefield around him to the best of his abilities. He had a long way to go, of course, but that’s how he figured his magic could be best used. “Got it.” He nodded, his eyes still closed as he focused and let out a deep breath. Jevi focused completely on his passion and determination to become a stronger Magic Knight and a better wizard in general and before he knew it a blue glow started to form around both the sword and himself.
[break][break]
However, it was impossible to hold it for the time being as he still didn’t understand the magic enough. Worse, he didn’t know what to do with the raw concentration of mana that it brought out. While Synthia was excited, Jevi frowned more so in thought than in disappointment like his friend seemed to believe. The witch nudged his shoulder with a smile, telling him to loosen up and that it was impressive he had gotten any kind of progress on his first try. The young elf rubbed the back of his head, smiling back sheepishly. “Right, right. I was more so thinking about what I was lacking to push through, you know?” He never believed this would be easy, but he did have to find out where the issue was. Maybe if he saw Synthia use her magic it would help him see what he couldn’t do just yet? Synthia was happy to give him a demonstration, crushing the peach pit in her hand after she finished the piece of fruit before she got into position.
[break][break]
Jevi kept a hold on his sword, letting it rest to his side as he watched Synthia with his full attention on every movement as well as the flow of mana she produced. He wasn’t the best at sensing it, he was well-aware of that, but he did his best to see if he could pick up on something he hadn’t thought of yet. As she got into position, he could see that familiar fire in her eyes as she told him again to loosen up as his form was simply too rigid. He had to let his emotions take control? That was…easier said than done. For his sword magic he believed focus and control to be key, so for this he had to do the opposite while still being focused and in control. It was a difficult task, but nothing had ever stopped him from trying before and that wouldn’t stop now. Jevi watches as the area around her was put ablaze, a literal fiery soul taking control as she showed off clearly what she could do to Jevi.
[break][break]
Synthia repeated the importance of him being relaxed and letting his emotions take control. His heart was to take the reins in this instance, not his mind. “I’ll try my best.” Jevi returned Synthia’s cheeky smile and returned to his previous stance. Once more he moved the short sword in front of him, closing his eyes and taking a couple of deep breaths to focus himself on the matters of the heart. What was his passion? Was it really only to protect and serve? Did he not dream bigger, or was it that he simply didn’t dare to dream bigger? His father had told him to focus on the political aspects of life, using his title and four leaves to gain respect and stature without having to put any work in otherwise. Jevi detested that notion. Just because he was born with certain advantages didn’t make him better. He didn’t want to feel like he was only worth something due to his bloodline and grimoire. No, he wanted to matter. He wanted to show that he was more than just his grimoire. More than just an elf.
[break][break]
While he pondered about this, there was a calm and quiet rage building up inside of him and with it that blue glow returned. However, Synthia could see that the expression on his face wasn’t one of serenity any more. That same blue aura from before was unstable now, flickering around him and the sword. Jevi was scowling, that anger inside of him towards his father seeping out. Could his passion truly only be about proving his father wrong? Was he that shallow? Was there nothing more to him? No, there had to be. He had become his own person, having wandered the kingdom for a couple of years before deciding to become a Magic Knight in order to both gain power and serve the kingdom he loved. What he wanted most of all was to be seen for who he was, and not for what he had. People often didn’t look further than the “special boy”. The elf with the four leaf grimoire, because why wouldn’t an elf have such amazing power? What they didn’t know was how much pressure Jevi put on himself to live up to those claims. If he could live up to those statements, people might be inclined to see more about him than that which met the eye. That was his hope at least.
[break][break]
So his passion was not simply to protect and serve, nor was it to just prove his father’s ideologies and teachings wrong. He was passionate about the people of the kingdom, and craved to be accepted by them for the person he was rather than for the idea they had of him in their minds. What Jevi was passionate about was to create a world in which people could be themselves without preconceived notions holding them back or forcing them into a certain role in society. As he let out a breath he had been holding in for far too long, the aura stabilized and returned to the earlier glow it had. “I want to be…myself.” He let it slip out alongside the breath, the aura showing more clearly than with his first attempt. It had gotten denser, too. Jevi’s eyes opened as he looked at the glow. It was obvious that he had enhanced his sword, but now what? “Hm. Now to figure out the next step.” He looked over at Synthia, the blue aura moving to only the sword and staying there. “Well, you said you focus it into one single strike, right?”

Jevi is making solid progress in learning about Aura magic.
[attr="class","Syn1image"]❝With a Singular Strike~❞
[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
Synthia watched with bated breath as Jevi started to take into consideration all the tricky parts of Aura Magic. He started to concentrate on what she presumed were his inner emotions, his desires, his passions, what drove him, what gave him a sense of feeling. That, was what she was curious about, as he focused inwards, and he replied with a simple reply as he let out a breath.
And that was when something fun happened, as Jevi's sword, and rather his whole body, started glowing blue. That meant the boy was getting somewhere. With the amount of mana that he was puttin gout, he was getting closer and closer. Well, as far as she knew. Might have to get a bit more but she was there to help regardless. She watched as Jevi frowned, and the boy was lost in thought as he thought what he was lacking... So, it appeared a physical demonstration was in order. Which she could provide.
As above, she performed a few simple martial arts maneuvers as she dusted herself off, shaking out what figurative rust she had in her body as she went back to watching Jevi, seeing what the boy had in mind. Seemed the boy was having trouble letting his heart decide where to point. He was learning, slowly, yes, but he was getting there. And so, he responded once again, another simple reply as he got ready to try and fight... And so, he focused once again. She had to admit, Jevi was a fast learner. He was building that build-up of Mana, as she watched, excitedly. There was a blue glow again, and she saw his expression darken just a bit as his emotions started to build up. There it was, that was what he needed... That little bit of Emotional Turbulence, that was something that would help him quite well.
She tilted her head upon seeing his lips move, saying something but not being able to really hear it too much. But after that though, Jevi had built up enough that the aura around him was something that was pretty cool. He was getting a handle of it, and he the glow remained permanent. Well, at least for now. He looked down at his sword, then back to her, as he pondered.
She couldn't imagine what was going on in his head, but she couldn't help but feel impressed. Whatever thoughts were going around in his mind, had let him manifest a bit of aura, at least for now. How long it'd last, she didn't know, nor did she know how strong it was going to be, but they'd made progress. It was heavy enough that it was coating his sword, alongside his body, instead of the faint glow they'd seen earlier. Chalk it up to luck or skill, but Jevi was making it look easy, considering how little he knew of the magic.
Jevi would look over at Synthia and ask her a question, trying to come up with the best way to strike with his aura infused sword, at which, she only shrugged, as she clapped her hands.
"Well, yeah, I focus on one singular strike, but that's what works best for me. I can't tell you what's best for you... so, all I got is to just, follow what your heart desires, that's how it'll come out the strongest."
Though, she couldn't help but be excited at this new prospect. She let out a breath, as her own aura flared up around her, glowing with that same orange red glow as she turned to face Jevi. Exccitement and fire burned in her eyes and soul as she entered another martial stance. She was ready for anything, as she smirked, and motioned over to Jevi with one of her hands.
"Doesn't matter in the end I guess, hit me with all you got! Show me your motivation Snowy, hit me and show the world what your passion, what your desire is! Let it out and hit me with your best shot!!!"
She winked, as that stance never changed, but that same determined expression sat on her face. Nothing was gonna stop her as she faced down that build up of mana in Jevi's sword, facing down that feeling of magic power... This was certainly going to be fun as he looked her way.
"Don't worry about tiny old me, I can take anything you can throw at me!"
Combat Summary
[attr="class","Syn1scroll2"] TL;DR: And so Synthia explains a bit more, plus some Physical Demonstration! Spells: N/A Items: Magic Knight Mantle
While it took him a little bit of time, Jevi had quickly understood Synthia’s words and picked up on the meaning of emotion when it came to her pure aura magic. The real challenge was confronting said emotions by himself, because he often preferred not to think about it. It was so easy to simply focus on becoming a Magic Knight in order to protect the kingdom and its citizens, but where did that leave him? What were his true desires underneath that persona of the knight in shining armor? That wasn’t to say that his wants to protect the kingdom weren’t genuine, but at the same time Jevi used those wants to not have to look deeper into the things he truly wished to achieve. It was just simpler to not shoot for greater heights and mix into the crowds, not standing out too much. He didn’t want to be put on a pedestal, and he didn’t want people to believe that his achievements were given and not earned due to his lineage and four leaves grimoire.
[break][break]
What he wanted was to be able to be himself. For the world to see him for who he was beyond his noble bloodline and his unique magic. During the Magic Knight exams he had the option to choose from most of the squads, but he knew it was due to his grimoire. He wouldn’t fit in with the Silver Eagles or the Golden Dawn for instance, as his believes didn’t line up with theirs, and yet they had wanted him to join because they didn’t see him as his own person. They only saw him as an unpolished diamond filled with potential to be used to make their squad look better than it already was. The Crimson Lion was far more focused on the individual, as Leo had shown him already when he welcomed himself and Rammus to the squad. That’s what Jevi yearned for. So his determination was linked to his intrinsic need to be seen and accepted for everything beyond what he had to offer on face value.
[break][break]
That determination was what strengthened his magical glow as he broke free of the darker thoughts in his mind. The blue glow had started all around him and his sword, but quickly moved to just the sword itself. The aura was clear and pure, giving off a calming presence much different than Synthia’s wild, fiery aura. As the aura remained around his sword, Jevi turned to Synthia and asked for her thoughts on how he should continue on now that he had been able to stop it from fizzling out. The witch had mentioned that she put all of her magic into singular, decisive strikes. Synthia reiterated that that’s how it worked for her, but that he needed to follow his heart which made Jevi smile at her. “Right. Let my heart lead the way on this one.” He gave her an understanding nod, looking over the glowing blade again when he heard Synthia move.
[break][break]
As he looked back towards the witch he couldn’t help but chuckle. It was clear that she was preparing for their spar, and told him to give it all he had and try out the attack on her. “You seriously can’t wait for even a second, can you?” He chuckled heartily, clearly not annoyed but rather amused by the witch’s antics. “Alright then, prepare yourself because the promised spar is now happening. Check this out!” Whether her fighting spirit was rubbing off on Jevi, or he was just eager to test out this new magic was unclear, but in either case Jevi was ready to put the aura magic to practical use. While there was a little distance between the two, Jevi took a stance and focused himself on the aura that had accumulated around his sword. [break][break] Then he put his right foot forward and thrust out his sword, launching the aura off of it in a ball-shape straight towards Synthia. Whether it hit her, or she avoided it, when it made contact with something physical it exploded with concussive force, making Jevi smile brightly. “Look, it worked!” This was a huge victory for the young elf, because if it worked with aura magic it could work with all kinds of magic! This opened so many doors, his head was spinning, and he almost forgot that a spar had now officially begun…

Jevi launches the aura at Synthia in the shape of a ball, and whenever it hits something physical it explodes with concussive force.

Synthia wouldn't lie, she'd been waiting for this. The emotions were starting to build up in her soul, as she felt that excitement at seeing Jevi finally seem to understand that he needed to let his Emotions drive his sword, drive his aura. To push his Aura further, decide and push onto the world his beliefs and ideals, that was how one used Aura. Jevi finally understood that, at least in some parts as he finally let loose.
She could tell that it was troubling him, to let his emotions be this raw, to let them out in such a way like this. That cold blue aura around his soul told her everything she needed to know though, as he readied himself, and let his determination sink through into his magic. There it was. The blue was intensifying nad coalescing into his sword... And as she gave one last final bit of advice, it seemed that Jevi understood finally. The glowing blade moved, and he made a cheeky comment her way about how impatient she was, at which her face pouted a bit, and she opened her hand, teasing him back in return as she threw him a cheeky wink.
"Well, a guy like you takes too long to get to the best parts~! You knew exactly what you signed up for~"
With that he would swing his sword, thrusting it out and sending a large ball of aura forwards at Synthia as her face opened wide with a grin, and her eyes blazed with fire as she clapped her hands together, before quickly seperating them and throwing them down, as with a burst she sent herself flying high into the air, watching as the Aura ball that Jevi had sent slammed into the ground and exploded with a blast of concussive force and an explosion of dust.
Synthia landed one one foot, before spinning and pivoting, a blazing aura starting to build up around her body as she threw a kick in Jevi's direction, fire igniting underneath her kick as she threw it out, and as she landed on her foot again, she turned back to Jevi grinning that same crazed battle-grin as she threw her hat off and onto the floor, and her blue hair was let loose, blowing in the wind as she opened her stance again, her hands looking like they had just ignited in a crimson blaze as she clenched her fists together, fire and magma pouring hot from those fists as she tilted her head.
"Oh yeah that was great, so keep it up Snowy~! Don't stop now!"
She would charge forwards once again if the Kick didn't lant, and aimed a flying punch straight for his mid-section, a straight jab aimed for his solar plexus as she practically exploded from where she stood, fire burning in her heart. This, this was what she'd been waiting for as she rushed forwards. The burning feeling in her soul was only intensifying as she felt that sensation of blazing heat and embers on her cheeks.
This feeling of combat, this feeling of war, the burning at her feet, and what Jevi might do next, this was what she'd been waiting for. This was well, well worth the wait as she charged forwards, her heart burning with that one pure desire in her heart, and that was to push herself to the limits. Nothing else here mattered, and nothing else was going to matter. Here and now, in this moment, with the two of them beginning their combat, this was all that mattered. Nothing stupid or silly like politics, or anything dumb relating to their stupid parents. Nothing binding her to her station, nothing pushing her to be something she wasn't.
Because now, was the time for fists and martial prowess to do all the talking. And so that was exactly what she was going to do, as she blazed forwards into that fiery maw of a promised fight.

Finally Jevi was able to focus his emotions and desires enough to let his mana manifest as Aura magic. The dense blue glow first covered himself and his short sword, before he was able to fully put this mana into the sword alone. It was far different from how Synthia’s aura manifested, feeling much more concentrated and collected than her wild and fiery aura that looked more like flames lashing out. “Don’t mistake my patience for hesitation.” The elf returned the witch’s wink with a grin. When it came to unleashing it, Jevi figured the first thing to do was to focus it on one single point just like Synthia had taught him. This lead to him thrusting out the sword as a strike which caused the aura to form a ball as it moved away from his sword and was shot out straight ahead towards Synthia.
[break][break]
He was so focused on the fact he had been able to use Aura magic, that he was a bit slower when it came to reacting to Synthia’s counter attack. The witch had jumped over his attack and landed in front of him on one foot. As she pivoted, Jevi’s attention was back to the fight as he was quick to move the blade in the way of her kick. “Not so fast!” He pushed her back, creating a slight difference between them as Synthia landed and threw off her witch hat. It seemed she finally was on the same page, complimenting Jevi for using Aura magic, though Synthia was still clearly ready to go and continue this spar with him. This time, Jevi was ready too, though, and focused on her movements.
[break][break]
The witch did not hesitate to rush straight at him again, and this is exactly what Jevi had come to expect of her. A fearless grin appeared on his face as the short sword in his hand disappeared, and instead he bend slightly through his knees. His left hand moved over towards his right hip and looked as if it was reaching out for a sword that wasn’t there. The moment his hand clasped around what would be the hilt, a long sword appeared. The blade looked brittle and slightly chipped with a bronze cross section and pommel. The blade was covered in snowy wisps, signifying that he had returned to the element he was most used to. “Let’s see how you handle this.” Jevi kicked off the ground, running straight at Synthia with slightly more speed than she seemed to show.
[break][break]
Once he was close enough for Synthia to try to punch him towards the center of his body, Jevi abruptly stopped his momentum and dug in his feet into the ground. He quickly moved the sword in front of him in the way of her punch so that her fist collided with the flat of the blade. “Challenging me to close quarter combat-“ He smirked, pushing her hand back to create an opening before twisting his long sword to use the pommel and hit Synthia hard in her stomach. Should it connect, she’d be blown back for a significant 17 meters given the strength behind his magic. “Might be your first mistake of this spar.” Should Synthia indeed have been knocked back, Jevi prepared himself by moving his sword to his dominant, right hand and held his sword at the ready in front of him. The long sword was still his favorite weapon to fight with, giving him more weight and a longer blade to utilize.

Jevi uses the following spell to create a new sword:[break]
Applicable Perks: Apex Predator, Battle Knight, Full Blitz, Knockback[break]
Description:[break]
To activate this spell the wielder moves their non-prominent hand to their side as if going to draw a blade on their opposite side what looks like a basic weak and brittle and chipped longsword appears on their other side frost easily seen across the blade showing its element. The sword itself appears to be 35 inches (88.9 cm) made out of steel and is double-bladed with a tarnished bronze hollow ground cross section and pommel. The sword can deal physical damage at junior rank although it will have magical backing that allows for it to give those struck minor frostbite, if a person is hit with the sword they will find themselves being knocked back by 2m +5m for every 10 power that they possess, they may also decide to give the sword over to another person, the sword may also be thrown as a projectile with a new one forming the following round.
Jevi attempts to limit the knockback from Synthia’s punch by putting the flat of the blade in between them, moving at 16 m/s versus Synthia’s 12 m/s.[break]
Jevi tries to hit Synthia in her stomach with the pommel of the blade to knock her back and then prepares for her counter by keeping his sword in his right hand.

[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
The wind blew in her face as she flew in the air, that fleeting feeling of freedom and bliss hitting her face as the battlefield started to heat up. The heat on her face only seemed to intensify the heat of her flames as she burst towards Jevi with that same speed. He was quick on the marker as he swung a blade and met her kick, a deep reverberating clash resounding as foot met steel, and she was pushed backwards just a tad as she recovered her stand, landing back on her feet, still bouncing and bubbling with energy as she grinned. The hats were off now, and the gloves were on. That was all that mattered in the moment, as she rushed forwards once again. Nothing else in the world, not the sky, the wind, or the growing concerns in the minds that maybe fighting on an estate like this was a good idea. What did it matter if she broke a few vases, blew some holes in a few windows, caused some collateral damage in the sparring hall, all that mattered was she was able to go all out against a good friend.
So, to hell with it, it was time for a fight already.
He quickly blocked her punches with the sides of his blade, as he started to start talking smack, choosing to state that he was better in close quarters combat than she was. As was expected of Jevi, he threw out that sword of his, attempting to strike her stomach himself, but she raised her arms in defense, the hommel impacting hard with her arms... she was still pushed backwards quite a distance from the strike, but the impact was mitigated to a degree as she shook her hands. A cocky smirk was still adorned on her head as she dusted herself off and punched her hands together, cracking her knuckles.
"Alright Snowy, you wanna play that game?"
Fire burned away at her soul once again, as she punched her hands another two times, before relaxing, and entering a different martial stance... She did need to control her flames though, so that Jevi wouldn't take too much damage with her flames... fire burst from her hands, as lava-like gauntlets covered her fists, before she charged in again. Of course, this was going to hurt, but holding back was something that she had to do unless she was literally fighting for her life. And given Jevi was a friend there was no need for that... No need to give her friends third degree burns after all. But that still wasn't the point, the point was, she was going all out while not hurting her friend, cause what kind of friend would she be if he got hurt while they were sparring.
Jets of fire burst from her legs and arms as she quickly charged forwards once again, this time leading with a swift kick aimed towards his legs, before a burst of magma erupted as she pivoted and threw another kick, attempting to knock him into the air, before finally, leading with a blast of fire as her arms threw out two swift open palmed strikes, fire bursting from each strike as the gauntlets on her hand lit up with an intense amount of fire and magma.
This was amazing. She'd missed this feeling, as the fire blew up in her face, throwing more of that heat and fire into her eyes. This was something she'd been craving, dying away of boredom when everyone else was so busy. She needed something to kill her boredom, and give her an excuse to finally just let loose her frustrations. And this just so happened to be it.
"Come on, hit me harder! I'll take everything you have and more!"

Jevi successfully blocked the attacks of Synthia with his longsword and used the momentum to actually push her back a significant amount. The young elf taunted the witch, telling her that challenging him to close quarter combat was her first mistake of this spar. Synthia had the means to stay at a distance, he knew this for a fact, and yet she opted to get in close with him anyway. Normally he’d understand her choice, as most wizards were focused on spells that were capable of being used at a range. However, Jevi was no such wizard. His magic allowed him to create swords, and these swords allowed him to fight up close better than most could. Of course, there were those who had bought a sword or had one made, but it didn’t compare to his magic as he could enchant his swords and use them in various ways. Not just that, he could also make different kinds of swords, which he had already shown by going from a short sword to a long sword.
[break][break]
Regardless, Synthia only seemed to be riled up more and looked like she was going to continue her assault asking him if he wanted to play this game. Jevi returned her cocky grin, letting the long sword dissipate as he moved his right hand in front of his chest. “That is exactly what I want.” His eyes narrowed, turning serious as he completed the spell. His hand clasped together as if grabbing something and a bronze short sword appeared in his hand. It was lightly chipped, and snowy wisps cascaded over the blade before he turned it around and aimed the blade towards the ground. Just as Synthia made her advances, Jevi spoke in a clear voice right as he stabbed the sword into the ground. “In'loilfrey.” The snow from the blade moved onto the ground in an instant, moving almost as quickly as Synthia herself. In the ten meter radius around Jevi the snow had expanded, being about three feet deep.
[break][break]
As Synthia was running and attempted to perform a sweeping kick, she’d be close enough to the ground to be hit by the snow. Not only did it push her back for a whopping twenty-two meters, she’d find the frostbite covering her body as Jevi pulled the sword out and readied to chase after her. “You want to be hit hard?! Then don’t blame me for what’s about to happen!” He rushed directly after the witch who had been pushed back and was ready to strike. This time he attempted to strike her hard with the actual blade, slashing directly towards her chest while she recovered from the knock back and frostbite. Should he be able to hit with the short sword, she’d once more find herself be knocked back quite a bit and experience even more frost bite. He did move into her immediate area though, and he wasn’t as fast as he was before, so perhaps his friend could counter him before the sword hit her.

[attr="class","Syn1scroll"]
Was she a little too overconfident in charging Jevi head on? Probably. Was she overzealous and overly headstrong in how much punishment she could take? Definitely. But, headstrong was her way of doing things, and smashing was her way of speaking. Much to her dismay when Jevi could predict what she could do, roughly, as he blocked her strikes, before following up with his own.
Snow blew from his blade, and Synthia was smashed backwards, her arms raised in defense again, though this time a bit worse for wear as Jevi threw her back even further this time... Before striking back and throwing a strike at her chest, slashing into and cutting through with a chunk of frostbite. Synthia... felt surprisingly cold at the cut, as she moved back, and stopped.
This was certainly something she was having fun with, and the emotions in flare were such a great feeling in her soul. Then again, though, she was getting nowhere fast, and now, she was having to deal with the fact it was surprisingly cold.
She looked down once, wondering what the cause was, before her face deepened into a flush crimson, and she quickly moved her arms to cover herself, as Jevi's sword had cut a hole into the lower part of her shirt, and Synthia was blushing very heavily at the exposed skin around her stomach. All pretense of a fight, was now quickly replaced with embarrassment as the emotions flooding her mind were flushed and confused now, as she quickly scrambled to hide the bits of exposed skin.
"H-H-HEY... NOT THAT HARD JEVI!!!!"
The embarrassment from her face was palpable as she crossed her arms to cover up the exposed bits of (honestly not that terrible) exposure, as she blushed profusely, and moved over grabbing her hat and using that to cover the hole that had been cut... Well, for any other girl, they might have been fine, but Synthia, sheltered as she was, had never had any boy see parts of her body that weren't her face, arms, or legs, so having even anywhere cut open was embarrassing for her. Her face got even more pouty as she waved her free hand about aimed at Jevi's direction.
"You... don't just... why did you... agh, boys are so stupid! Don't look this way dammit!"
She quickly grabbed a long-cloak from one of the adjacent coat racks or wherever they were, and threw it around her front, tying it off to cover what she could. She was still blushing, but not nearly as hard, as she walked over and attempted to smack Jevi upside of the head, before sitting down, muttering to herself as she huffed, crossing her arms and letting out a sigh.
"...great now I'm going to have to fix my shirt..."
Perhaps Jevi had gotten a little bit too into this sparring match with his friend, but it’s not like he could help it when Synthia was trying to get him to go all out the entire time. She was actively provoking him, telling him not to hold back as she claimed she could handle whatever he would dish out to her. So when he created an opening by using a burst of snow before following that up with a well-placed sword strike to her mid-section, the elf was surprised to suddenly see Synthia come to a screeching halt as a dark red blush covered her cheeks. At this point Jevi hadn’t even noticed the cut on her shirt exposing her stomach at most. All he heard was her scream telling him not to go that hard, which made him stop in his tracks as he blinked in surprise and concern. “What’s wrong? I-“ That’s when he noticed Synthia covering herself, and it finally clicked.

The only reason Jevi got embarrassed was because Synthia did as well, as he believed he had exposed far more than he really had. She was so flustered he would have believed her to be naked completely, but nothing was less true. The only thing that could be seen was part of her stomach, and Jevi sighed at Synthia’s overreaction to it. “Oh come on.” He looked away, respecting her wishes, though that didn’t stop him from speaking to her. “It’s just your stomach, and a little bit at that. You know I fight with swords, and you told me to go all out. What did you expect would happen?” Still, maybe he should have been more careful? It was just a friendly spar after all. Something about Synthia’s attitude just pulled him along in her enthusiasm. He frowned a bit and bowed to her. “Still, my apologies. I should have been more careful.” It was only right for him to apologize to her for this slight, even if it was unintentional.

Before he could get back up from his bow, Synthia had moved over and smacked him on the back of his head. “H-Hey! I said I was sorry!” He pouted a bit, rubbing the back of his head as he stood up with a straight back once more. Synthia muttered something about having to fix her shirt and Jevi sighed. “I’ll pay for it, okay? We’ll call a truce here, I don’t feel like continuing the spar now.” He moved to sit down next to Synthia, still feeling like she was mad at him. Jevi gently placed a hand on her shoulder, visible concern in his bright, blue eyes. “I didn’t mean to cut your shirt. You got me so riled up with your enthusiasm, I just got caught up in the moment. I’m sorry, especially after you helped me so much today.” She had come out here to teach him about her magic, and now he had gone and ruined her shirt. “Aside from paying for the damage, how can I make it up to you?” The last thing he wanted was for his friend to remain mad at him. It might not have been fully his fault, and it was definitely not intentional, but Jevi would owe up to it either way and right this wrong.
