Name: Master of Archeology [SR]
Description: The temple has been reached- a towering old pyramid of black stone, covered in giant vines and mosses. A long staircase leads up into what seems to be the entrance of the dangerous pyramid, filled with live traps. At the center lies a golden statue of a black mamba, with eerie red gems for eyes. If the statue is picked up by anyone other Ilhiana Vones, the temple mission would turn into a “Run away before you’re forever trapped inside of the temple and die.”
Minimum Number of Players: 1
Minimum Word Count: 2500 per person
Location: The Forsaken Region
NPC Information:
Enemies: Reanimated Skeleton Explorers x 10 per Magic Knight
Ylvehla [Boss] x 1
The Reanimated Skeleton Explorers are adventurers that died within the walls of the temple many ages ago and were influenced by the dark magic essences around the location. They have intermediate health, move at 10 m/s and have the ability to cast the magic that they had within life! Most of them use attack creation and physical reinforcement magic from copper and bronze elements.
Ylvehla, the dangerous black mamba to whom this temple belongs to, slithers silently around the inside in its undeath. A bony husk, reanimated through dark worship, the creature is inherently evil and impossible to fully kill unless the Magic Knights use silver magic. Once its Health drops to zero, it will stay dead for 5 posts before reanimating again. It has grand rank health and deals senior rank damage with its venomous bite, which causes a hex upon anyone that has become its victim. Ylvehla is impossible to see by mages with under 30 sensory unless it has already attacked someone. It moves with a speed of 20 m/s.
Special Conditions: All damage taken in the previous mission by the Magic Knights and the party of adventurers will remain going into this mission. There is a very short rest between the end of the last mission and this one, but not enough for health or mana skin to recover.
The mission is only a success if Ilhiana gets the statue and escapes with it (along with the Magic Knights and as many of the adventuring party as possible).
Upon completing this mission chain the players achieve the Notable Achievement "Crusaders of Archaeology". [break][break]
Time has finally come for the Magic Knights, and Archeologists, of this expedition to meet the temple. The group made their way through the rest of the swamps that they took at the start of the expedition. Naxel was located in the back of the group where he was stationed during the assault not long ago. He was able to fend off corrupted trees and giant slithering serpents. To him the corrupt trees were not that difficult to fight against. It was when he had to fight the slithering serpents that made him very uncomfortable. Which it was an, unknowingly, smart move on the serpents part to fight against Naxel. They had a better chance of fighting against him than fighting against one of the other two Knights that was on this expedition. Naxel could feel the power that both of the two women Knights conjured up when they fought. Rosa had her icy cold magic that, seemingly, instantly frozen each of the creatures that came in her path. Artemis had her magic as well that easily dealt with the rest of each set that tried to go against the group. So far the expedition has been quite successful since they began the journey. No one really knows where they are headed besides the head woman of this group. All Naxel really knew about this mission was for them to escort, help, and protect the head archeologist, and her group, to a temple. Up until that point the Noble didn’t really know that many ancient structures were still around today. There are some kept up sacred structures that are protected by the King of Clover, but anything else is a mystery to the boy. It wasn’t until he heard the head Archeologist call out that they had made it to their destination. When Naxel turned his head he was truly amazed by the structure that looked down upon them.
It took Naxel a few quick moments to get out of the shock of which the beauty of the structure caused. He would then make his way up to the front of the group to see that Dr. Vones was about to make an announcement. “Attention everyone! We have made it to the destination in which we set out for. In this structure is untold stories of the past. We are here to do our best to discover and record anything in which this place has to offer. I have heard some stories before about an item that is located deep down at the bottom of the temple. No one has ever seen it to truly confirm that is existence is true. But, today we are going to find it. Today we will be the ones who will claim the victors of discovering the mysteries of this place!” Throwing her fist into the air upon saying those last words. “Archeologist, I hope you are as ready as I am!” Looking down at her piers with fire in her eyes. “Magic Knights. I am thankfully for the protection you have given us so far. Please continue this as we make our way inside of the structure.” She finished off with looking at each of the Magic Knights that was assigned this Mission. Naxel gave her a head nod in agreement. He would then turn his own head over towards Rosa and Artemis with a serious look on his face. “I think I am going to take a look around the outside perimeter here. Recon is my Squads speciality. So, I think I should secure the perimeter in case there is something lurking around the area. I would really hate it if something were to sneak up on us after we make our way inside of the temple. Plus we don’t know whats really inside of this place.” Turning his head towards the temple with those last words. “It would be better for you two to lead them inside. Don’t wanna make it really too crowded for everyone to easily become targets now do we? Hehe.” Giving them both a smile when he finished this time. “Anyway, I will catch up with you guys as quickly as I can. Don’t wait on me now you beautiful two.” Using a facial expression symbolizing him giving them an air kiss before taking off.
Naxel took a deep long dash towards in the left direction of where the group was. The way he took looked as if it was more solid than the way they took to get here. By this point he has had enough of the swampy areas that they’ve been through today. All that it has done was ruin the boots that Naxel called one of his favorite pair. Now they smell like a Nasty, musky, disguising odor. Hopefully, whenever they get back home, he can take them by his family Manor to get someone to try and salvage them. But right now he had to focus on securing the area of the temple. So, he made his way down the left side of the structures foundation that met the ground it sat on. It was a decent sized building due to it taking him a moment to finally hit the corner of it all. When he got here he made his turn to see that the building was a lot longer than he figured it would be. The whole place looked as if it was around three stories tall. Which meant that most of the structure led down into the ground. That wasn’t really a good sign in the eyes of the Azure Deer. If this place was to collapse in any way, shape, or form then everyone would get trapped. Naxel also knew the power that Artemis and Rosa could muster up. If either of them use a very powerful spell then this whole place would collapse. That was one thing he would need to inform them whenever he caught back up to them. In the meantime, he continues to make his way down the side of the structure with his arms held behind him as he ran. It felt a lot quicker when he ran like this. Another reason would be that his arms wouldn’t get in the way as he looked out for any forms of life around the place. All that he was able to find, so far, was a bunch of dead trees and spider webs everywhere. There would be an occasional small snake here and there, but nothing else that would seem to pose any sort of thread. Then, when he made it to the next corner of the structure, he turned to go down the next way. When he made it just a little of the ways down he noticed a cut out in the wall of the place. Upon closer examination was that it looked like some sort of door. He placed his hands on it to give a better examination of it to see if it would open. Sadly, it looks like it is a one way door that opens from the inside. There is so telling where this door leads too, but keeping an eye out for it on the inside would possible make getting out a lot easier. Naxel would then go on to continue his perimeter search of the area.
“Attention everyone! We have made it to the destination in which we set out for. In this structure are untold stories of the past. We are here to do our best to discover and record anything in which this place has to offer. I have heard some stories before about an item that is located deep down at the bottom of the temple. No one has ever seen it to truly confirm that its existence is true. But, today we are going to find it. Today we will be the ones who will claim the victors of discovering the mysteries of this place! Archeologist, I hope you are as ready as I am! Magic Knights. I am thankful for the protection you have given us so far. Please continue this as we make our way inside of the structure.”[break][break]
Artemis would listen to the lead archaeologists’ spiel, while closing her eyes. She was less tired, but more so trying to get a feel for the situation. As a Magic Knight of the Green Mantis Squad, she often found herself in situations where her life depended on how she would react. The criminal underworld was quite a dangerous place, even for a Magic Knight with great prowess. This was even more so when Artemis was usually a lone wolf while doing her missions. Danger lurked at every corner for her, and she knew how to at least sense the atmosphere. Partly, of course it was this reason. The other part of her reasoning for closing her eyes was the fact that the air around the forest alone was really dense and heavy. Forests, for the most part, always had a heavy weight in its atmosphere, a product of the trees and moisture that is trapped by the high canopy. It not only made anyone venturing deep into the jungle very tired, but it was also very uncomfortable for those who could not stand the humidity and fluctuating temperature. It was oppressing for those who were not ready, and Artemis could feel it affecting her in some ways. She would shake it off, however, having experienced trekking through the jungles of the Clover Kingdom for different missions before. The archaeological team, as well, seemed to be in tip top shape. Artemis would glance at them and found them to be more than fine, most likely a product of their constant travelling and exploration.[break][break]
As Naxel Blake of the Azure Deers decided to scout around the area, Artemis herself stayed put. There was no need for two mages to do the initial scoping of the place, and truly, she found herself more seen towards the group. Though, it was for professional reasons rather than a scholarly one. The mana beasts that had attacked the group earlier were not the only mana beasts lurking in and around the area. This was a forest, after all. Deep within the bowels of the Clover Kingdom’s uncharted regions lies its most terrible beasts. Artemis knew that the higher tier mana beasts were more likely to appear in places such as these. Hidden away, with little contact with the outside world, mana beasts that lurked within the canopy of the vast wilderness were rabid and untamed, more than those who lurked near villages and towns. These beasts fended for themselves, fighting amongst each other for survival and for food. It made them stronger. Stronger than the mana beasts who foraged scraps from villages and towns. Stronger than those who lurked in the shadows, cowering from everything. [break][break]
“Stay vigilant.” Artemis would call out to the group of researchers and archaeologists. “The air still has a putridness laced with it. The mana in this place is not natural, corrupted by something, or someone.” She made the observation, though she was sure that her companions had probably guessed the same. Artemis would continue with her observations by using her Ki. While she cannot use it for long distance sensing, that was not something she needed to do. Instead, she wanted to check the immediate surroundings. Ki was something that was used in combat, for short ranged purposes. Using Ki at this point only had one purpose: to check and see if there were any illusions nearby. She would not discount it, the temple, after all, was close by. It was not unheard of that places like these have some sort of illusions on them. Protections were always something one should be wary of when they face old and decrepit temples. There was always something more than what meets the eye. [break][break]
“We should not stay here.” Artemis would whisper. “The faster we get this done, the better. The forest, this temple, it’s a place that has seen better days, brighter days.” Her Ki senses felt nothing around herself nor the group. The place was at least fairly clean of mana beasts, devoid of anything that might attack them. However, this did not appease Artemis’ own feeling of dread. Something was hanging just before them, and the temple itself was a source of corruption. The snake motif, and the effigies all around gave a horrid vibe. Even more so, Artemis knew from her own research earlier that as they made their way into the temple, there are more than likely mana beasts that will engage them. It was less of a guessing game and more of a fact. Temples like these would hold valuable relics of the past, things that most likely should not be uncovered, nor was it ever planned to be uncovered and unearthed. Traps, after all, were deterrents. Some things are best left alone, though Artemis knew that by accepting this mission, she was accepting its premise. “We should grab the artifact, whatever it is, as quickly as possible.” She would continue. “Mana is overflowing from within, and while I cannot pin point the source, it can only bode trouble for us if we hesitate, or take too long.” Artemis concluded, before looking towards her two Magic Knight companions. “Caution will be our friend.”
Rosalia’s shook her head as she remained in the center of the group after the set of attacks from the local flora and fauna. She knew this journey would be dangerous, but man that last circling of five giant snakes was almost a bit much. Four she could’ve handled, but had she not thought fast enough and trusted her instincts about her spell’s range, people would’ve ended up ridiculously hurt, and probably in the belly of the beast. As her eyes wandered to look for her one, ever-present friend, the sky, she found a pout reach her pretty lips when she realized that it was mostly covered by tree branches and large leaves and impossible for her see. A huff escaped her as she glanced over at her two Magic Knight Partners for the day. Artemis Somerset and Naxel Blake were both clearly of noble pedigree. Both were stunning in their individual way and held themselves with an air of importance that way that all aristocrats and above did. Rosalia didn’t really have that level sophistication. She was practically raised to cook, clean and be married off at sixteen. Her looks were her only exotic attribute.
The woman stopped as her ruby hues landed on a large structure and she gasped audibly, feeling the excitement bubble into her chest. This…this visage was a pyramid. It looked like something out of the many books she had read in her childhood, a place for people to gather power. It probably seeped with magical essence and energy. She’d always read about such structures being made out of pure gold or silver, metals used to express importance. This one was pure black, and it made her tilt her head to one side. So this was where the priestess resided?
It was Vones’ voice that basically snapped her attention back over to the group. Her message made a little smile rise to Rosalia’s lips. This woman was really good at making her crew excited and feel like they’ve accomplished something. It was how she expected a powerful sun mage to be, really, the energy to warm up an entire town. The item mentioned peaked her interest, as it seemed that this is what they were there for. The Clover museum could never have too many artifacts. She tended to visit it often back when she lived in Kikka, at least more often than most. Every other Thursday the place would have a history lesson in public for a specific decade within Clover’s History, and she would join in on those mornings with a mug of tea in one hand and a sandwich in the other.
When Vones referred to the Magic Knight crew and asked them to continue protecting the rest of the party members, Rosalia would nod politely before scanning the area again. How were they going to travel inside of the building though? Naxel chirped up and offered up his scouting abilities first. It made sense considering the Azure Deer were indeed the recon squad. She didn’t particularly oppose his idea, but she found it more useful for him to be around with them when they entered the place. Before she could really open her mouth to state these words however, mister Speedy-Gonzales had blown them an air kiss and vanished to do what he knew how to do best, leaving her shaking her head. She couldn’t really blame him, she was pretty difficult to stop when she put her mind to something as well.
While they were waiting for the male, Artemis would call out to the group in order to encourage everyone, and it seemed to have worked as well. Water and Sun, both elements that humanity relied upon to exist. It entertained the witch to see how well they reacted to their magic users. Her eyebrow cocked up however when the white-haired Mantis explained that she could feel the mana around the place being unnatural. It made her pause and try to interact with things with her own magical essence. It really didn’t seem off to her, but perhaps her shadow oddity and lack of natural instincts for survival played a part in this. She tended to find the darkness exciting, in her own weird way. Perhaps it was because of Zaven that she felt she could trust it more that she probably should. She’d corrupted places many times before, and they really didn’t bother her anymore. In most cases she was the most corrupted thing within a 15 mile radius. A little dark chuckle left her pretty lips before Artemis attracted her attention with a whisper. Unlike the red-haired beauty, she seemed very tense and on-guard. She knew that she probably should be following her example, but there was no need for her to chill their companions with her magic any more than she already had.
But Artemis was right about one thing. The faster they got this done, the better. She closed her eyes before sighing and nodding at her next exclamation. Of course there was some kind of beastie lurking in the shadows, waiting for them to enter so it could gobble them up. Or maybe it just hunted for sport, whatever the case, they definitely had to be careful.
“Alright, listen up, we’re gonna start making our way up the temple. I’m going to go in first, then about five or so of you will follow me, then Ilhiana, as she is an ex-magic knight but also the leader of this group, then another about 7 of you, followed by Lady Artemis, and then the rest which will be joined by lord Blake when he returns.” Rosalia wasn’t good at encouraging speeches, but she was decent at planning. She had studied several books on war and strategy in her free time because she was told such knowledge may be beneficial to her in her preferred occupation: a Magic Knight. They were correct. She watched a few of the archeologists glance about one another before slowly they started sorting out their place of walking in the line she had just made. Once they were done she would maneuver everyone slowly up the steps of the temple, making sure to glance about for Naxel, to see that he would be able to catch up with them as easily as he said. As they reached the entrance of the temple, the woman would glance back at the group on the steps and speak out again. “If anyone is unhappy in their spot, change it quickly, because after this there’s no turning back.” The woman expressed as she held her grimoire in her hand.
After a few seconds of silence and exchanged glances, the red-head stepped into a horrible low hallway leading into the temple at a decline. “Watch your step, its fucking slippery.” The woman shouted, feeling her voice travel through the air in a way that made her curse. Well whatever the fuck was in there definitely knew she was coming now.
And it didn’t take long for there to be proof of the danger of this place either, as when Rosalia had the brilliant idea to finally light torch and hand it back to the archeologist behind her she came face to face with a pile of moving bones without skin. Mana flared from it, making her eyes widen in that it had the ability to cast spells. Fuck.
“Ice Creation Magic: Fangs of Frost.” The beauty called out, her grimoire pages flipping over instantly as she grabbed onto the first spear she made and threw it straight at the skeleton mage’s head, shattering it quickly. “There’s fucking spell-casting skeletons over here!” The called back, huffing as she continued moving along, making sure everyone braced for whatever else resided in this blasted place. She picked up her initial spear and summoned a second one in her hands quietly before stabbing through another skeleton that just seemed to appear out of nowhere. Two wasn’t too bad though…
The hallway came to an end as Rosalia stepped into a tall square room. There seemed to be all sorts of engravings in the wall and as she quickly grabbed another torch out of her back to light with the old one. She turned back around and the group shifted slowly into the room fully.
Ilhiana lit the space up with her light magic, and thank god she fucking did because there was no way the torches would’ve been able to reveal the hellish circumstance of approaching twenty or so skeletons surrounding and approaching the party from all sides. “Fuck.”
WC: 1429 Mana: 174/175 (Cause Fangs of Frost + Mana Con+ Combat Mana Regen)
Time continued on as the Azure Deer Knight continued his way around the perimeter of the structure. So far he has found a sealed off doorway that seemed to be a possible exit. There was so way of really knowing where the door leads without being being inside. For now, Naxel had decided that he would just wait to see what he could find whenever he made his way inside. He would also relay this information to Artemis and Rosa as well, so they could possibly help keep an eye out. It was a good plan for him to look forwards too, but he had to manage his way back to the front of the structure. By this point, Naxel was bobbing and weaving through giant tree roots, bushes, and spider webs that were all over the place. Thankfully, those were all that he seemed to be running into. Things could be worse to where that he runs into more corrupted trees and serpents again. Now that would be a lot more of a pain than what he was doing now. Though things did start looking up more as he finally made his way over to the last side of the structure. When he turned to make his way down the side it dawned on his that the area was clear for the most part. This was a more relaxing feeling that surged through his body has he made his way towards the front of the structure. As he made his way down the side there was nothing else that he was able to spot. It was just like the rest of the perimeter that he scouted before this point.
By the time that Naxel had made it to the final corner, where the front of the structure was, he started to feel mana signatures on the move. Then, he turned around the corner to notice that Rosa and Vones had taken a group of people into the temple already. It kind of shocked him on this due to them not knowing if anything was lurking around the structural area. They could of easily walking into a trap on this inside since there was a door on the complete opposite side of the entire place. So, Naxel made his way back to the rest of the group that was still outside. When he approached everyone he noticed that around one third of the entire group was missing. Naxel could only figure that Rosa had split the group up to where that one magic knight would only have a certain amount of people to watch. If that was the case then he would really like the idea of doing that. “So, I am guessing we are going to split up into groups of three. Rosa and Vones have already made their way inside. Which group are you going to be taking?” He said to Artemis with a genuine curiosity on his face. There was also a thought in his mind that he should tell the green mantis of what he had found. But Naxel really wanted to wait until he was around both Artemis and Rosa before informing them. That way he was able to inform them both at the same time, so neither of them would feel like they were being left out. The Azure Deer didn’t see them being that kind of people. So to be on the safe side he would keep the information to himself.
Artemis would nod at the suggestion of the Black Bulls Magic Knight. Rosalia had a point, after all. Going into the temple en masse was never a good idea. It made things fairly crowded, and certainly made combat even more difficult. The problem with templeslike these is the fact that there were definitely traps. In not traps of a physical nature, spikes were usually the commonly used ones in ancient temples, then it was mana beasts. To be honest, she would rather face the physical traps than the mana beasts in these kinds of situations. For the most part, Artemis’ Ki senses, as well as her natural sensory magic, were enough to pick up any traps of the physical nature. Trap doors, triggers that were pressure based, and even subtle levers that were activated upon hitting a certain object, Artemis could discern them all without breaking a sweat. The residual mana that these items, or traps, had was something she can pick up quite easily, and they were obstacles that posed no threats if found and diverted away from. Mana beasts, however, were a different nature. Unlike traps, they cannot be avoided. Most of the time, they were also aplenty. This meant that any fights in a crowded temple would certainly become almost impossible to do without any sort of unintentional casualty. This was the reason why she liked Rosalia’s plan. Segmenting the groups as they head in would make fight easier. As well, any ambushes could easily be thwarted since a Magic Knight was present at different key sections of the group.[break][break]
“Naxel.” Artemis would greet, as she watched Rosalia’s group go in first. It would be her section next, it seems, and she gestured for the the group that volunteered to go with her towards herself. She needed to make sure they knew of the game plan, though Artemis knew that for the most part, they will relying on herself to keep them safe. She would take a long look at her group, counting out those who possibly could help in a combat situation, and those who would not be able to do anything. There were a number who would be a liability without a doubt, though some of them had mana signatures that were at least strong enough to be able to defend themselves and a few of their allies. Artemis would worry less now, though she knew that at the end of the day, everybody within the group was her responsibility. [break][break]
“Rosalia had segmented our groups into different teams. We won’t be splitting up in terms of wandering and exploring the temple. Rather, we are going in as groups one after another. This way, I believe that any combat situation would be better handled.” Artemis shook her head, “Too many at once will make everything too close quarters. I know for a fact that some of my spells are too destructive in its nature, so it is better to be safe than sorry.” She shrugged, before continuing, “I should be taking this group, while yours is waiting for you over there,” Artemis gestures to a group that was looking expectantly at Naxel. “Keep safe. I sense a foreboding presence within these walls.” [break][break]
With that, Artemis led her team into the temple itself. It was not a long while until they found trouble. However, the walk had been an interesting one. Around them were markings of sorts. It seems that the temple had once been very much active. Artemis could see signs of previous life here, no matter how faded they may be. The place was in ruins, and the temple was in shambles. However, there were still mana residue everywhere. While she could attribute this to the residual mana of the once inhabitants of this place, Artemis could not shake the feeling of something else that lurked within the temple’s corridors. There was a corruption here, and evil that needed to be cleansed. [break][break]
“The skeletons.” She could hear the men and women in front of her whisper amongst one another. Artemis would surmise that Rosalia had found some mana beasts that were collecting dust within the temple. And from the mana spike she was able to sense from the women, she had dispatched them without any issue. Artemis would nod to herself then. She was very confident that Rosalia can handle herself well. She was a powerful mage in her own right, and certainly had the potential to become even more powerful with more time and experience. [break][break]
However, as the group finally pooled into a room of some sort. A tall square room that reeked of corrupted mana. She could sense it permeating through the walls, and her observation was supported by a fire being raised, and the skeletal mana beasts that had suddenly met them. Artemis’ adrenaline started pumping then. She was not one to seek out a fight, but if there was one available, Artemis was known to be in the thick of it. [break][break]
“Poseidon’s Wrath.”[break][break]
With her grimoire glowing the sea-colour blue, Artemis’ spell came to life, and immediately rushed towards the skeletons. The wave itself rushed through the first few skeletons, sweep[ing them in its torrential force as the bones were grinded into dust, while the weapons were washed away. While the mana beasts were not smart, these skeletons were at least able to discern danger and backed away after eight of their comrades had been defeated in a single spell. [break][break]
“Take them out before they can regroup.” Artemis would command, her Intimidating Aura causing the skeletons to stagger for a moment, and their strength being sapped just a little. She knew that they need to capitalize before this became an all out bloodbath, where the skeletons would surely try to overwhelm their group. No, they needed to act fast before they were caught in a physical fight, and she only hoped that Rosalia and Naxel had heard her. Her grimoire at the ready, another spell was on her lips as she got ready to send these mana beasts back into the ether.

TL;DR
Took a group in, got into the room, and killed 8 of the skeletons.
Name of Spell: Poseidon's Wrath[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Sensory (Illusion)[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 85 m/s | 110 m AOE [break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: +12 Power, Blinds, -12 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Battle Knight, Master Illusionist, Quick Shot, Apex Predator[break] Description: Artemis calls upon the inner rage of the ocean and sea using her grimoire. Amassing a huge amount of conjured water, the spell itself is a huge tsunami like wave that Artemis can control through her mana. The huge amount of water takes the form of water horses, which visually charges towards Artemis' opponents. The spell itself is coated with an illusion, which masks it from the following senses of her opponents: sight, sound, smell, and mana. At first hit, those hit by Poseidon's Wrath are blinded. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. Artemis is able to create more than one Poseidon's Wrath based on her control, while it follows ammo rule on damage. The spell also follows ammo rule on avoiding allies. Those within the area of effect will have their sensory debuffed following debuff rules.[break]
Rosalia could feel Naxel’s mana signature join the group at the back. It was reassuring that he had made it back in time to them. He was a good magic knight, despite his rude ignorance earlier. He was also not a horrible kisser, but she’d tell him that at some other point. Some point when she wasn’t still annoyed at him for being a dick. [break][break]
Whatever the case, she could muse about how to deal with the noble when she wasn’t surrounded by enemies in a large open area while having to protect the about 20 people who didn’t really know how to defend themselves with powerful magic. She was on a job. She was a magic knight before she was a lover or a scorned woman. The other things didn’t matter when it came down to her job. Rosalia was a drunkard and a borderline sex-addict on occasion (six days out of seven in the week) but she knew that her workaholic tendencies overpowered both of those habits. [break][break] Her ruby hues watched as Artemis used her Poseidon’s Wrath spell once more, and she actually got to observe the beauty of her water magic properly this time. The last time they had been separated, where her ally was at the front while she was at the back, she hadn’t been able to do much other than sense the powerful flaring of the Green Mantis’ mana. This time however, she watched as water, an element with a large portion of similarities to her ice, swept over the area in its liquid form, draining the corruption away from the front line of the enemies with ease. This was something her ice couldn’t do, not even close. She could only freeze her enemies alive, and maybe crack a hole for them to breathe through, if she was feeling particularly nice. [break][break] Listening to the pale-haired woman’s next vocal command on not letting the skeletal army regroup, Rosalia’s icy exterior hardened as she cracked a little smirk. Oh she wouldn’t let them regroup alright. Throwing her two remaining Fangs of Frost at the skeletons in front of her, the witch then turned to one side and felt the pages of her grimoire flip over before the book glowed as it swallowed a portion of her mana up. “Ice Creation Magic, Winter’s Kiss.” The woman voiced before leaning forwards and breathing a blizzard of ice spikes out at the enemies. She moved her head over to the left hand side, sweeping it with her breath and leaving six more skeletons dead and covered in ice on the ground, before stopping her spell. This only left the four remaining enemies on the right hand side, which was hoping Naxel would be able to handle with ease. These things were clearly capable of magic, but their reaction time wasn’t very fast. They were only alive due to some curse after all, not their free will. [break][break]
“We should start moving forwards slowly again once the last of these things are cleared. Stay put!” Ilhiana called out to the full group. The Archeologist had shifted her posture and pulled her grimoire out as well, just in case something had gone wrong. [break][break] Once the enemies were all cleared, Rosalia would exhale and pick up her two previous spears from her Fangs of Frost spell. Her Frostbite whip was best at a medium range, and this place was turning out to give her anything but the space she needed. The spears would have had to do for now. She would guide the party into the tunnel forwards, only to reach a fork in the road.
“Lady Vones…I believe your expertise is needed here. That, or Naxel needs to scout ahead.” The red-haired beauty spoke out as the party gathered in this room. So far so good. Once they had a moment to properly breathe as Ilhiana was looking through the markings around the walls of the passages, Rosalia would glance over at Artemis with a little smile. [break][break]
“Your magic is pretty, by the way, what does the Water affinity feel like?” [break][break]
She used to know a Silva who used that element, but she hadn’t seen him in ages. Perhaps she should ask around for Riley later on. Since Yuurei was the Captain of the Silver Eagles, he probably should have no issue inquiring as to what happened to him. She was sure he’d managed to get into the squad after the Magic Knight Exams that they participated in together…perhaps the Shattering had hit him hard?
Perfect Buff: Those with this perk may now cause their magical stat boost buffs to buff at a rank above their own when buffing allies only. For Archmage spells this will give +3 to the total of the buff. This cannot affect Physical Buffs in any way, even if used in dual spec.
Mana Conservationist: You will be able to use spells with less mana than others when it comes to casting spells! Each rank of spell will have its spell cost go down by the following amounts, please remember that this is based on the rank of the spell not the character! [Juniors]: 2 | [Intermediate]: 4 | [Senior]: 6 | [Grand]: 10 | [Archmage]: 16
Description:Rosalia creates a single lance out of black ice with serated edges. The lance can be used as a held weapon or be thrown at a creature. Allies are allowed to pick up the lance without taking damage and whoever is holding it gets +9 to their Power stat. Once the lance is embedded into an enemy it deals intermediate damage and gets stuck there. Upon removal it deals intermediate damage once more due to the ice magic’s cutting ability and the shape of the weapon. The spell is modeled after one of Vulkan Rinvol’s as the pair spent time training together but modified to fit Rosalia’s more ally-based fighting style.
This spell goes off of the projectiles/ammo/occurrences/ rules based on a mage’s control.
The spell cannot deal 2x intermediate damage with the same spear in the same post.[break][break]

"A SHADOW IN THE MAKING."
After Naxel had asked his question to Artemis it wouldn’t take long for the woman to respond. The Azure Deer would listen to his partner very closely so that he would make sure to know whats going on. She first started out by informing him that Rosa had made the decision to split of everyone at first. It was a smart call on her part due to everyone not really knowing what all they would find within this temple. Next, Artemis went on to explain that having everyone at close quarters would be very dangerous with some of her spells. Naxel agreed to this due to him knowing what she was capable of. Rosa wasn’t excluded from that either. Her magic is just as powerful if you compared it to the Green Mantis Knight. Lastly, Artemis told the Azure Deer that she should be getting in, and for Naxel to be careful when it was his time to enter the temple. Naxel nodded his head in agreement before watching that group make their way into the temple. Afterwards Naxel turned his attention over to the group that was standing behind him. He started out by counting the number of people that he had within his group. It was very difficult with everyone moving around to talk or look at the Forest around them. With two attempts done and failed he gave up on counting. Instead he walked to the closes researchers to see what kind of people were in this group. Since they started this expedition he only really have spoken with Artemis, Rosa, and Dr. Vones. Everyone else in this group just felt as if they were background characters.
“Excuse me, What kind of stuff are you guys looking to find within this temple?” The Azure Deer asked with some curiosity in his voice. One of them caught his question with interest to inform the young man on what he would like to know. “Most of us here joined to help out Dr Vones find whatever it is that is hidden deep within the temple. Others came along for personal reasons to explore another temple that has yet to be discovered. Those people thrive on the architecture of these ancient places that it is almost like gold to them. Which myself can be counted amongst that group of people.” The researcher had said with the genuine excitement coming from Naxel. “If you have seen as many ancient structures as some of us you would jump at this kind of opportunity. There was one temple out in the far west of the Clover Kingdom that was just a beauty to look at. We have yet to really figure out the kind of people that once lived in that structure. For now we are just continuing out research there when we can to see if there is anything new that we missed.” He finished off with Naxels eyes shining like two stars at what the researcher just said. “Oh wow! That sounds like you have a very interesting job as a researcher. Maybe one day I will be able to tag along with you on another exploration into another undiscovered temple.” He said with closing his eyes and a smile right there at the end. Then, Naxel had felt that still short conversation had went on longer than it really needed too. He would then walk over to get closer to the entrance of the temple. “Alright everyone! Now it is our turn to enter this structure. Despite there being two groups entering before us there is still no telling what we will find. I will need everyone to keep close to me, so that we will not unfortunately lose any of you.” He would say to the group that he will be leading before making his way into the entrance.
The structure didn’t look all that bad whenever the Azure Deer finally made his way inside. Despite it being lord knows how old it was in pretty good shape from what they eye could tell. Sadly, Naxel was only making that assumption by looking at the walls that were closer to the entrance of the temple. As they made it down the path it would start to slowly look more worn down from the materials it was made from. Naxel would first notice that there were some strange markings that were marked on the side of the wall. Due to his natural curiosity, he decided to stop the group for a moment to examine these markings that he saw. Naxel crouched down on one knee to look at the closest ones that were near him. Follow that, the researcher that he spoke with outside took a knee right next to where the Azure Deer was. The two would examine them only to not really know what they could mean. Naxel would look over to the researcher to see if they would know what people would have made these markings. They shook their head to inform him that they couldn’t give him that answer. A slanted frown would cross the young mans face before he would stand back up. He then began his way back down the path that they start. When he made it a little ways down he would notice the spike in mana from further on down the path. Naxel turned his head to the group behind them to inform them that they were getting a move on. Though it didn’t take long for them to reach the area that the rest of the expedition would be located.
Once Naxel entered the area he would notice that Rosa was finished off some creatures that, he guessed, attack them. He couldn’t really see through the group of people what these creatures could be. So, he motioned for him group to stay with the others for him to make his way closer to Rosa. Before he could get to her he noticed that there were four skeletons off to the side. Naxel knew that between these two they could easily handle anything that would be thrown at them. With there being a few left he figured that they just decided to leave a little fun for the Azure Deer. A happy grin would appear on his face as he summoned his grimoire out in front of him body. The pages began to flip very quickly until they hit a spell that he quite fancied using in situations like this. “Shadow Creation Magic: Lord Umbras Dual Scythes!” He recited out loud only to see two orbs appearing out of the book. They would then become attached by a chain shooting out of one to connect with the other. Naxel reached his hands out to grab both of them which made two double blades scythes appear out of the orbs. His body also began to feel a little lighters to where he could move a whole lot faster. He would then run over to two of the closest skeleton creatures that were left out for him. They seemed to be slow moving creatures that weren’t the best type of minion like creatures to have. When he got close to them Naxel noticed that those two started to have a mana aura around their bodies. Both of them would rear back at the same time to send punches straight for Naxel. His body was moving towards them which didn’t leave many options for him to counter these two attacks. Instead, he would fall backwards to behind a slide between the two creatures. Their fists flew by as his head went straight under them missing by probably an inch. Naxel would then use his two scythes to latch onto their legs to pull them out from under them. They fell down towards the ground as Naxel quickly began to get up. Once on his feet he would sling both scythes at the two on the ground to send a strike at their skulls.
While doing so the other two skeletons made their way over towards Naxel. Feeling their presence get closer he would begin spinning his body around like a tornado. The two skeletons stopped before they reached him, but Naxel didn’t. He spun his way over to the two creatures to strike and destroy them. This was not a style of fighting that he had tried before. As soon as he stopped he dizzy walked over to a rock to puke behind it where no one would see it. His head still spun a little after that, and he made his way over towards where Rosa, Dr Vones, and Artemis was at. By then the group was already making their way down the next path to wherever it is they were going. When he came to a fork in the road he heard Rosa mention something about scouting ahead. “I can’t at the moment. Everything is still spinning.” Speaking in a way that would sound like he had one too many alcoholic beverages. So, instead he decided to let someone else scout ahead this one time. If he were to make his way down a path by himself it would probably not be so good for the Azure Deer. Naxel would then grab on to one of the researchers closest to him for them to guide him for the moment.
The fighting was over before Artemis knew it. They seemed to be in sync for their combat now, able to provide each other assistance when needed, as well as covering each other’s blind spots if required. At least, that was what Artemis assumed since she did not seem to have needed to say anything otherwise, and both the Black Bulls Magic Knight, as well as the one from Azure Deers, were able to react accordingly. She supposed it was because they were Magic Knights, and therefore had the experience under their belt to know how to support their fellow team mates. At the end of the day, it worked, and that was all that matters.[break][break]
“Let us continue then,” Artemis would motion for the group that was supposed to be going with her. They seemed relieved now, as though a huge burden had been lifted from their shoulders. It seems that the researchers themselves, while knowing that they had a Magic Knight team as their escort, were still very much afraid of the place. Of course, she could not judge them for it. Magic Knights come in all shapes and sizes. There were the weak ones, those who could not even fight off simple mana beasts, but were great at supporting their team mates. And then there were the powerhouses, those who could plough through hordes of mana beasts without flinching. It was a small mercy that Artemis knew that she was able to both support her team mates, as well as be a powerhouse, though her support capabilities were more aggressive in its form. [break][break]
As the group continued forward, they finally came across what seemed to be a fork in their road. Artemis found herself listening to the Black Bulls Magic Knight, Rosalia Boreas, talk about having a scout to the work. She also heard Naxel Blake reply that it might be best if he was not one to go. So, instead, she would raise her hand and speak up. [break][break]
“I am known to be a Master of Ki sensing, let me probe both paths to see which one would be best to take.”[break][break]
It took little time for Artemis to sink into Ki sensing, and even less to explore both paths with just her senses. It was a great way to be a scout without being a scout, and it also was good for discovering traps and even illusions at a higher caliber. From what she could find, however, both paths were clear of any traps or mana beasts, however, one of them felt just slightly more hospitable than the other.[break][break]
“We take the left path.” Artemis would start, though was immediately supported by the lead researcher, Ilhianna Vones.[break][break]
“I agree. My instinct tell me that left will take us where we need to go. So, let’s go!”[break][break]
Artemis would nod in agreement, unsure of how much the woman’s instincts could be trusted. Never the less, she was the client, and so they followed. Artemis would then turn to Rosalia, hoping to answer her question as they formed a line to head into the path. “Water is an element that needs flexibility to use. It’s strength lies in control, and even more so, patience. It does not respond well to brash attitudes, but rather, thrives with a user that is calm and collected.” It was the best explanation she had for her element. “What of yours? Ice is like water, yet it isn’t. How does it compare?”[break][break]
The walk would take little time until they finally reached an area that Artemis knew was the heart of the place. The problem was that there were eight skeletal mana beasts that seemed to be in their way, comparable to the ones they had dealt with earlier. There was also the fact that a snake like mana beast seemed to have been slithering around the room, coiling itself onto a golden statue of a Black Mamba.[break][break]
“It seems we found our prize.” Artemis whispered, before looking towards her companions. The skeletons seemed to be waiting for something, biding their time, while the snake that looked more dead than alive slithered back and forth, as though challenging their group.[break][break]
“Please, don’t engage these creatures. Let us handle them. Lady Vones, may I suggest taking advantage of the haze of combat to grab your prize?” Artemis suggested, before letting her grimoire alight. It seems that they were close to the end, and Artemis was ready to see this through.

COMBAT SUMMARY

TL;DR
Eight skeletons are in the way of the Golden Statue, while Ylvehla seems to be keeping close to it and defending it.
Rosalia had no idea why Naxel Blake was slurring. He definitely didn’t smell of alchohol, so perhaps he had used a combat technique that he hadn’t perfected. It made her shake her head but say nothing on the matter. He needed more practice. Using it in a mission with other people was poorly calculated of him…or perhaps he had enough faith that if something went wrong while he was effectively incapacitated (in a sense), he trusted Artemis and herself to handle the matter. The two were very different in their fighting styles. The red-head knew that she lacked any combat instinct, so she thought fast, calculated area and made an instant plan, she was horrible at taking split second decisions. [break][break] Artemis spoke up, instantly making Rosalia’s grimson gaze snap over to her direction, taking the pale-haired women in once again. Ki? Where had she heard that before. The ability was mentioned in books and had come up in past conversation around the Blue Roses headquarters, but in reality the beauty had no idea how it worked. There was a few moment of silence where Artemis did her thing, after which both Ilhiana and her agreed to go down the left path, as it was deemed the safer one. Rosalia assumed that Ilhiana had actually figured out the better way by looking at the ancient engravings in the walls. She could hear the other archeologists deciphering them to themselves quietly, but the ex-Coral Peacock was clearly quicker on her feet. [break][break] Rosalia would nod and tell everyone to get back in their positions. “We’re going to start moving again, stay within the original formation in case more enemies pop up.” Her voice sounded off. She could thank her time at the Blue Roses for the authorative tone that she’d learned to use. Well, she could be very authorative in the bedroom if she wanted to, but that was a very different matter. As they formed their lines again, the beauty would receive an answer from Artemis about her elemental magic. It excited her. Being the nerd that she was, she was going to soak everything she told her in. [break][break] Water required control, much like her ice, but unlike her element, water didn’t respond well to brash actions. The red-head listened quietly as everyone restructured and they slowly started heading into the path. “No, Ice is not like water, actually it thrives on rampant free emotions. It’s at its most dangerous when one is angry, while also permitting for the user to cool down enough to control this anger…in most cases.” The witch had several times she’d just wanted to let loose and freeze a base or a tower, but she’d kept her cool (haha get it?). Ice was a chaotic element, it was a symbol of a season where everything was dead…She shook her head as her heels clicked against the stone. “It has its quirks. Like how when I use my magic or lose control over my emotions, I tend to cool the air around me close to zero…My body temperature is naturally several degrees lower than a normal person’s, and my heart beats slower…” Rosalia though to whether there was anything else that her element affected her for. Her oddity probably had something to do with who she was as well, but she’d never quite figured it out. “I don’t know how to explain it, the element definitely needs control, but in a way it controls its user’s body and changes it to its will. I never really get cold, for example.” [break][break] Walking time would pass quickly, as Rosalia tried her best to focus while still explaining her element. She made no mention of her shadow oddity, in part, because she didn’t understand it much herself. She felt closer to Zaven and Naxel due to it, but that was about as much as she knew. Once they arrived, she barely caught what Artemis whispered, and Rosalia grinned as she saw more enemies spread around the room. She counted…eight? Something was off however…she couldn’t really pinpoint what it was. [break][break] “Everyone be careful, there are enemies in the room” Her voice rang through the air as Artemis told Vones to go grab her prize. The archeologist nodded and slowly stepped ahead, although seemingly didn’t really dare to get past the front line as her eyes gazed at the gold statue on the platform. [break][break] Rosalia was quick to place a shield on the woman as she murmured “Essense of Winter” under her breath, letting the spell spread to herself and the closest other researcher, just to make sure nothing really got to him either. Once that was done, she’d turn to the skeletons and then leaned back. “Winter’s Kiss” she picked her spell out as her glowing grimoire flipped several pages forwards. Another breath of sharp, dangerous and cold ice was exhaled forwards at three of the skeletons nearing them, before Rosalia swept her breath over to Artemis, shielding her for [senior] damage instead of hurting her. [break][break] “Naxel, please be careful in this room, there’s something bad here…” Her gaze followed Artemis, but she wasn’t really quite certain what she was looking at. What the hell?

"A SHADOW IN THE MAKING."
After Naxel had informed the group that he was unavailable at the moment he rested on the shoulder of a researcher. The person didn’t seem to mind that there was a Magic Knight dizzy on them. Instead, Naxel focused what he could on the rest of the group that was talking. He heard the voice of Artemis speak up about being the one to look ahead. She had mentioned the ability to use a technique that she called Ki. There had only been one other time that he had heard the name of this technique, but it was only for a brief moment. What it was is unknown to the sensory mage. What little he did know was that is was somehow similar to the abilities of sensory mages magic. Right now wasn’t the best time for the Noble to try and ask his partner for information on their ability. If he did then there would be other things besides words that would come out the mouth of the Nobleman. So he just allowed her to go on ahead to see what she could find out for their next movements. In the meantime, Naxel talked with the researcher he was on if they knew how to get over dizziness quicker. The person didn’t know much, but gave a little help by giving him some water to drink. Naxel became like this due to the move he used in the last encounter he made. It could of also been due to him not being hydrated enough before going into that fight. He did make his way around this entire structure before they made their way in here.
Though, it didn’t take much time for Artemis to come back with some options for them to choose from. Naxel had started to feel a little better, but still not ready to make any kind of decisions with the rest. He did trust his two partners on whatever it was their next move was for this exploration. Which a decision did come fairly quick, and the group was on their way. The noble knew he wasn’t ready to walk just yet, and decided to let the researcher drag him along the way. His body wasn’t incapable of moving, but needed some guiding until he was hydrated enough for the dizziness to stop. In the meantime the researcher that was guiding him began to speak to pass the time. “So, what made you wanna join the Azure Deers?” Speaking with curiosity. Naxel had to think a moment on this question with his mind being a little fuzzy. He knew why he joined the squad, but didn’t want to say something stupid from his slightly blurry speaking. “I joined them due to the part that held within the Magic Knights. Being apart of a team that helps keep the Kingdom on step ahead is probably one of the main reasons why I join.” Saying with more of a normal tone to his voice instead of blurry talk. Naxel was about to speak again, but placed his hand up as he felt like he was feeling the hard ending to the dizziness.
As they made it through the path that they had taken, Naxel had finally broke out of the dizziness he was in before. When they entered the room he noticed there were more skeleton creatures that surrounded the room. In one spot was a giant serpent like creature that caused Naxels eyes to widen. He heard Artemis say something to Dr Vones that he didn’t pay enough attention to for him to know what was said. What he did hear was Rosa recite a couple of spells to take out some of the Skeletons. She would then inform Naxel that there was something within the room. Curiosity broke through his mind whenever he heard this come from her mouth. “Can she not see the creature that is guarding that golden statue we are after?” He thought to himself as he pinned his focus on two skeletons that were nearest to him. One of the two decided to make a lung at the group. Naxel was ready for another fight, and wasn’t going to let anyone get hurt. They have come too far without letting anyone get harmed on this exploration. So, his grimoire was summoned out in front of his with the pages already flipping. They stopped on his most commonly used spell. “Shadow Creation Magic: Lord Umbras Dual Scythes.” The spells was like butter on his tongue. It slide out while his two orbs began to rise up out of the pages. A Chain would shoot out to attach the two before Naxel grabbed them to turn them into the scythes. His body felt light as it usually did, and he ran to meet the skeletons strike before it could touch any of the researchers. The things fist would meet one of his Scythes to stop it from going any further. Naxel would then send a slash at the skeleton, and killing whatever it was on the spot. He turned his attention towards the other to send his right hand scythe flying towards the thing. His scythe made contact with the wall behind it after cutting the skeleton in half. When he pulled his scythe back he turned his head over towards Artemis. “Handle that Creature. We will get the rest of the Skeletons.” Speaking firmly towards his partner before looking around the room to find the other creatures.
Artemis would pause only for a moment, taking in the situation as she surveyed around her. The haze of battle has started, and it seems that both the Black Bulls and the Azure Deers Magic Knight had engaged their respective opponents. The skeletons were technically the most immediate threat. They were at the forefront, and had been the first line of defense that seemed to be protecting the undead looking snake, as well as the item of interest. The woman they had been escorting throughout this whole place, Ilhiana Vones, seemed to be eyeing her prize, though was waiting for the signal to actually go for it. Artemis could not blame her. It was so close now, and yet still so far. While the skeletons were the first line, Artemis knew that they needed to deal with the snake like creature. It was only then that Ilhiana Vones could take her piece, though it seems that the opportunity is presenting itself very soon.[break][break]
Watching her two companions deal with the skeletons. Artemis was given the go ahead to actually take on the undead snake. From what she could gather, the Black Bulls Magic Knight, Rosalia Bores, seemed to be unable to see the creature, which is why Naxel Blake had urged her to defeat the creature herself. The both of them seemed to be working in tandem to defeat the last few of the skeletal warriors, which should give Artemis the gap to which she can take Ilhiana Vones through. The plan was simple for her. She would engage the snake, while the adventurer would take advantage of the fight to grab the item in question. [break][break]
“Lady Vones, let’s go.” Artemis would motion towards the woman, and lead the way. The skeletons were now firmly occupied with the two other Magic Knights, which gave Artemis the chance to push through one of the sides of the hallway. It was less crowded, since the skeletons seemed to have been thinned out. “Once we get there, I will engage the mana beast, while you sneak around and grab the item. When you do, I would like for you to make your way back towards the group.” She would pause now, as they approached the area where the item was sitting, Artemis noticed a slight movement. Yet, the snake did not seem to engage just yet. It was eyeing Artemis, sizing her up. From what she could gather, it was assessing if she herself was a threat. Animals did that, snakes even more so, before using their superior speed or strength to incapacitate their enemies. “I suggest caution. While I am fairly sure that my team mates would have finished off the skeletons by the time you nab the item, keep safe.”[break][break]
It was then that the snake reared up its head. Artemis had to stop, and have her grimoire open. Pages flipped quickly as the snake started to make its way towards Artemis. She needed to be ready, since this was no ordinary mana beast. From the mana signature it gave off, the creature was definitely more of an abomination of life itself. It had the putrid signature of necromancy, something Artemis had only seen once, at least a variation of it. [break][break]
“That is Ylvehla, a serpent known to never die. Take caution, Magic Knight.”[break][break]
Ilhiana Vones gave Artemis a nod, before moving aside and away from Artemis’ general vicinity. A fight is to be had, and she knew better than to get in the middle of it. Artemis could only nod in return, before a spell was already on her lips.[break][break]
“Scylla.”[break][break]
Two sword made of water manifested on both of her hands. She gripped them tight, giving both a short swing, before quickly needing to dodge to the left. Ylvehla, it seems, took the build up of mana as something akin to a challenge. The serpent snapped at Artemis, and she was only able to react because of her mastery over Ki. She had been able to track the creature’s initial strike, and was able to just dodge in time. The swords, however, were still ready and waiting to be used. [break][break]
Ylvehla struck again, lunging at Artemis as he parried the fangs with one of her Scylla swords. She had tried to swipe at the creature, but was met with nothing but air. It seems that the snake, undead or otherwise, seemed to still be very cautious, and only exposed areas of its body that it needed to. It was also very quick, and was using holes around the room to hide in. Artemis had to swivel around as she found herself alone. The snake had crawled into some space, and was yet to be seen.[break][break]
“Lady Vones, grab the item now!” Artemis shouted as she spotted the snake burst out from her left. Without hesitation, Artemis took one of her Scylla swords, and stabbed the creature straight through its mouth, its fangs just missing the skin of her forearms. She felt the life leave the snake’s body, yet it was not dead, not in the slightest. Artemis would shove the mana beast aside, before running towards the group.[break][break]
“We need to leave, now!” The snake, since it was not dead yet, could bring more of its kind into the fray. Worse still, its death could have triggered more mana beasts to arrive, and she did not want to be in the middle of that mess. She could only hope that her team mates had finished off the skeletons, and that they could leave as soon as possible, especially since Ilhiana Vones seemed to be caressing her prize: a golden statue of a black mamba.

TL;DR
Artemis battled and killed Ylvehla, for now at least, and ilhiana Vones has the statue.
Name of Spell: Scylla[break] Elemental Type: Water[break] Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Attack Creation & Sensory (Illusion)[break] Range & Speed: 150 meters | 85 m/s | 110 m AOE[break] Mana Cost: 50 | 25[break] Stats Effected: Power +12, Blinds, -12 Sensory[break] Applicable Perks: Area of Triumph, Battle Knight, Master Illusionist, Quick Shot, Apex Predator[break] Description: Scylla is a spell that conjures and manipulates water, turning them into swords that surround Artemis. The swords are very sharp, and are very deadly. Through ammo rules, Artemis usually creates more than one, with the limit based on the amount of control she has. While she can use the swords in a physical fight, she oftentimes manipulates the swords with her mana, using it to fight enemies from afar. If she chooses to, Artemis can make a sword explode in a shower of pin-sized needles, causing an AOE effect. At first hit, opponents are blinded by the water that hits their eyes. The blind effect only happens once per opponent. Scylla is coated with an illusion, making them very hard to see, hear, and smell, and sense with mana. Finally, they are able to home in on their intended target because of the user's Sensory. Those hit by the spell will also have their sensory debuffed, following on debuff rules.[break]
Naxel had joined her in the assault on the skeletons? Good, there was never enough hands handling the undead anyways. She hated their kind with a burning passion anyways. She’d seen them almost everywhere, for it seemed that spirits of darkness were the best way for evil to permeate itself into reality. It was a weird observation she’d had, and the beauty thought to talk to her Captain about her finding when she went back to the Black Bull’s base after this. If she survived the temple, that is, but Rosalia trusted both Artemis and Naxel already. They’d spent quite the amount of time together. [break][break] She could see Artemis’ pale aesthetic off of to the side of her vision, and could hear her talking with lady Vones, which meant that the Green Mantis had decided to focus on handling the main bit of the archeological task at hand. Worst case scenario, Rosalia could cover her back. When she heard Artemis mention a Mana Beast, however, Rosalia cocked an eyebrow to one side. Was there something there that she couldn’t see? The beauty was still breathing out ice, and turned her head to hit the skeleton that had begun moving towards Ilhiana and Artemis with her icy spray. The woman then shut off that spell and eyed the room for whatever they were talking about.
She watched as Artemis called forth a spell that created swords in her hands. It was then that the beauty could see the weird outlines of what her ally was fighting with. A giant snake of somekind? It definitely moved like one. It made her shiver. Rosalia couldn’t keep watching the curious fight though, even if she wished she could permanently integrate it into her mind. No, she could barely dodge a fireball that had been chucked at her by one of the magic-wielding skeletons. [break][break] “Fangs of Frost.” The beauty called out to her spears again, summoning her trusty serrated blades of black ice out again before chucking one out at the skeleton that had dared to try and hit her. It annoyed her in all honestly. She was splitting her attention. Her workaholicism with her passion for magic. Gods, it irked her. The beauty scoffed as she spun her second black spear in her left hand, before chucking it at what seemed to be the last skeleton in the room. It was besides Naxel, so she gave him a little wink when she did so. [break][break] That was all of the skeletons in the room. Yet, something still felt incredibly off. [break][break] In the meanwhile it seemed that Ilhiana and Artemis had taken care of what the group had come here to do: the archeological research behind the expedition in this temple. When the Mantis proposed they left fast, Rosalia knew she had no reason to object. [break][break] “Lady Vones. We must leave. NOW.” The red-haired which all but commanded at this point, her workaholic nature seeping back into her bones. She trusted Artemis’ judgement of the place, and by her tone, it clearly wasn’t anything good. The ex-Coral Peacock archeologist seemed to almost snap out of a little daze before Rosalia’s eyes skidded over the room and then back to Naxel. They had to fucking move. [break][break] “Would the way in also be the fastest way out?” She asked outloud, going over to quickly pick up her icy spear from the dead skeleton carcass. [break][break]

White Knight: Those with this skill can cause their defensive based spells and abilities cleanse debuffs. This mechanic works in the same fashion as healing does when removing debuffs.

"A SHADOW IN THE MAKING."
Naxel had not noticed anymore Skeletons after the ones he had defeated. Instead he saw that Artemis, and Dr. Vones, took his advice to go ahead for the prize of the temple. The fight would be a very interesting one for him to watch. He also knew that the Green Mantis Knight wouldn’t have any trouble with this creature, due to her strength of magic and skills. Naxel would use his time to keep an eye out for more potential creatures along with figuring out where that door led to. So, the first thing that came to mind was for him to use his mapping spell to see if the path leading to that exit was easier to see. His hand would then rise out in front of him for his grimoire to follow in suit. The pages would begin flipping at a normal speed before landing on this spell he hasn’t used in quite a while. “Shadow Creation Magic: Lord Umbras All seeing Projection.” A orb of black mana would then rise out of the pages of his book to float in place. Then it would slowly take shape into the structure that they were in. From the looks of what he was noticing first was that there were a lot more room on their way down to where they were now. It looked as if this place was some kind of weird maze if you were to get of course for even a moment. This whole structure was looking very fascinating to the Azure Deer along with a couple of researchers that were looking over his shoulder.
By the time that the map had completely projected the layout of the temple something weird had suddenly appeared. Naxel turned his head around to notice a skeleton had appeared right near him. His eyes grew wide as he didn’t have enough time to recite a spell before being struck. The only thing he could do at that moment was to close his eyes, and hope that this skeleton was horrible at weapon accuracy. But after a few seconds had passed he didn’t feel anything strike him. When he opened his eyes back up he noticed that the creature was struck by a spear. His eyes out turn towards the opposite direction of where it was to notice Rosa giving the Azure Deer a wink. A smile would appear on his face that he was glad his teammates were better at fighting than these creatures were. But his mind got a little sidetracked at that wink to where he forgot was he was doing. The grimoire of his was out in front of him with the layout of the temple right in front of him. That quickly jogged his memory for him to find out where this secretly seeming path could be. It was until he notice an almost invisible path that looked to start right near where that statue was located. Artemis seemed to have killed the beast, and figured that they would use this time to escape when it was time. Though that time came quicker to Naxel than he figured.
Artemis and Dr. Vones seemed to have obtained the item that was located in the middle of where the serpent was. The Nobleman would hear Rosa scream out that it was time for them to head out. He would also notice her looking at him asking if the best was out was the way they came in. This was a decision he knew would be easier for them to go. There was no telling what could be waiting for them along the way they came in. So, Naxel looked at Rosa with a serious look before speaking. “I don’t think so. Follow me I have an idea of where we can get out.” Saying to his partner before making his way over towards the direction of the entrance to the path. When he got close he noticed there was a hole in the wall that didn’t look as spacious as the path they took down here. It was enough for then to walk through, but not enough room for 3 or more people to stand side by side. Naxel waved his arm up to motion for them to follow him into the path that he had discovered.
This path was long, and seemed to be some sort of escape route for someone important way back. It was halfass carved out until the rest of the temple. Cobwebs were everywhere, critters crawling over the walls, and some sort of weird smell was flying through the air. It was a disgusting place that he knew his partners might kill him over for making them come this way. This path seemed to go on for a long time before he face planted into a wall in the direction they were going. Naxel moved his hand across the surface to feel that whatever it was in front of him was solid. Then, moving his other hand for him grimoire to appear in front of him again, he noticed that they had made it to the door that he discovered outside. A smile would then appear back on his face that he was able to find it. “Alright everyone our freedom is right outside this door.” With that being said to the group behind him he would then begin to push the door. Despite being a mage in the Magic Knight order he wasn’t strong enough to move this door himself. One of the researchers behind him noticed this, and moved up to the door to help push. Naxel nodded his head in thanks as they began to push together. It slowly moved at first before, more easily, moving further and further. With about a moment of pushing, the door would then loosen up to where the two pushed the slab outwards. Light quickly flooded the pathway more than what was there. “Yes.” Naxel said to himself soft as he and the researcher to their steps outside of the structure. When they took a quick breath of fresh air they began helping people exit the temple.
Naxel would then continue on until everyone had made it out. At this point he would look at his partners with a great smile on his face. “Well that seemed to go pretty smoothly if I had to say. Dr. Vones got what she wanted, and the rest was able to examine stuff they were able to find.” This was an accomplishment in the Azure Deers’ book. But before he could continue on one of the the researchers had approached him. “I want to thank you all for leading us safely through this interesting place. There is also something I found that I wanted to give you Sir Naxel.” Naxels head would then turn to the side in curiosity before the researcher took out some strange object out of his pocket. “I have no idea what it is, but I figured you could figure it out better than I could.” The Azure Deer would then take the object from them along with a smile and nod in thanks. When they turned away he turned his attention back towards the other two Magic Knights. “Good work you two. It was an honor to take on this mission with you two powerful Knights. I will be sure to add in my report the amazing actions you took today. May we take on another task again in the future.” Giving the two much praise that they had deserved for this mission. He would then begin turning around to take his leave. “Until next time. Rosalia of the Black Bulls. Artemis of the Green Mantis.”
Artemis knew that there was something strange going on with this specific mana beast. The researcher, Ilhiana Vones, had called it with a specific name. Ylvehla. Artemis knew that mana beasts with specific names were bad news, even worse when researchers like Ilhiana Vones knew about them. She also seemed to know something more about the mana beasts, though withheld the information from Artemis. She would not ask, only follow the women quickly as she glanced back at the now dead and limp undead snake. It was a precaution, making sure that the enemy was actually down and out of the count. [break][break]
She was not sure who was leading, or where they were going, but Artemis trusted her comrades in arms. She had volunteered to take the rear guard. Well, volunteer was not really the right word for it. Artemis basically took the rear without any question nor taking any responses, ushering all the other researchers forward as they sprinted towards what seemed to be the exit. She at least hoped it was the exit. Artemis’ sensory senses were going haywire as the corruption within the whole temple was permeating through the air. She would not say anything out loud, though she could feel that the corruption was focusing itself onto the mana beast that she had dispatched. [break][break]
Then, it was the exit.[break][break]
Artemis would breath a sigh of relief as she was one of the final ones who had exited through the makeshift doorway. From what she had heard, it had been hard to open, and a researcher had had to help Naxel Blake. She had been so busy focusing on guarding their rear that she had not even noticed the happenings at the front of the group.[break][break]
“A success is a success.” Artemis would finally say out loud, before looking at the temple once again. “We, however, should leave as soon as possible. Away from this place.” She would shake her head. “The corruption is still here, and it is wanting.”
