"Keep it up Sister Halcyon!" a chorus of children sang towards the wide hills in the outskirts of Hage. Their sounds of joy and cheer came from a particularly long haired, red-eyed woman currently squared up with a herd of neighing sheep. The animals baa'd "sheepishly", gazing over at the growingly agitated woman's frustration as if it were but a leaf in the wind. So relaxed they were that as Bryn scooped them up into her arms two by two, their munching continued without stop.
"Bless that you all think of your day as simply as you do. Ought to be thankful that you're being semi-cooperative rather than feisty." Bryn said to herself as she gently offloaded the sheep into their pens.
Still, in town post-Black Bull encounter, her go-getter attitude brought Bryn to assist more of the people of Hage in their daily activities. One of them being taking the role of a herding dog whose paw met an unfortunate accident during a scuffle. A tuffle between beasts so she was told. Looking at how easy-breezy these beasts were as the wind passes through however, the young woman could not fathom that these puffballs would be the cause of injuring a fine dog. Looking over towards the kid sat the black and white husky, with its bandaged paw tucked in between the audience she gathered. Guess a person of her stature able to lift up two sheep with relative ease is a rarity.
With a huff and a swig of water, Bryn turned about to see the rest of the flock who were waiting their turn for the lift service. She was greeted with the sight of the goofballs with tiny feet making their way towards her, in a hurry it seems. The imagery would be something of a relief were it not obvious what they were scurrying from. A rather majestic, floofy fellow with large antlers that curved the sides of his head in a regal fashion. It was a ram, easily the size of her height wise and thrice as wide. It looked at Bryn with a gruff expression, clearly not pleased with something. 'Does it think I'm taking its harem or something?'
It snorted, lowering its head and preparing to charge. Clearly wanting a challenge caused the woman to feel a spark within. Cracking her knuckles and smirking, Bryn stomped into a wider stance and fired up her Ignite spell. An aura of red embers coated her limbs and the kids were thrilled to see magic displayed before them. Feeling the need to play along, she decided to toss in a bit of charging screams and increase the flair of her spell. The red aura about Bryn grew brighter, as if her flame danced with a spark from an unseen flame. Her opponent, the regal beast, scuffed up its hooves and then took off charging!
The cheers of the children followed in with the warnings about the aggressor. Bryn sized up the individual and lowered her form. She wanted to test out her new phantasm spell, but came to terms that perhaps using such a violent spell on wildlife was more fitting for a villain. No, this needed a bit more of a tender approach while still getting across that Bryn's will was far from fragile. Spreading her arms out to match the girth of the ram's horns. Upon impact, the ferocity of the ram pushed the young ravenette to dig her red boots in deep. Her pale arms now red with soreness and she could be seen gritting her teeth against the blunt pain. Channeling that struggle into strength, Bryn diverted the momentum from the ram as she buckled her knees.
The pugilist let out a good grunt as her lithe form began to hoist the brute up into the air. It looked at Bryn with a face of fear and confusion, while the she returned with a smug smile. With a loud "BAHHHHHHH", the long haired girl flung the ram over her in a motion similar to suplex. The animal plopped and seemingly bounced a few paces down the hill before bonking its head on a boulder. Bryn shot her legs straight up and spread them apart to spin propeller herself to a cross-legged seated position. Lifting with her outer legs, Bryn stood up and looked towards the now infuriated beast. It's proud nature insulted by the act of being tossed about, it stood up and prepared to take another charge. The children made an even louder ruckus, cleary enjoying the show!

It was an awesome day outside within the kingdom of clover. There were a lot of things that were being done throughout the kingdom. The captain of the Silver Eagles had a lot of free time on his hand right now as he had sent a lot of his mages out into the kingdom to take care of missions that were waiting to be done. He had caught up with all of his paperwork, and his cousins were doing their own jobs throughout the kingdom. The wind mage had planned on going home and seeing the noble family and discussing a few things, but before he did that he wanted to go out on his own and see how things were in the Forsaken Region.
He knew that there was a knight squad there so he didn’t have to worry about it, but it was just how he was as a person. The daemons that appeared within the kingdom were upsetting, but at the same time, he had to make sure that they weren’t causing any problems to the people of the kingdom. Yuurei’s means of travel to this region was rather simple yet complicated. The noble used a ring that was on his finger and it had a special spatial magic property that was connected to the leyline of the Clover Kingdom. It would bring him to a specific town within the region. He would end up on top of the skull that was in Hage since before he was born. He would look around to see that there wasn’t much of a problem within this area, which was a good thing.
He would have been upset if he had seen smoke coming from a distance, or even the noise of civilians screaming for help. Still, now that he was here, Yuurei figured he would make his way into Hage and see if there was anybody that needed his help. This would bring him to jump off the skull that he was on and he would land softly on the ground as he would start walking towards the town. When he entered the area he could see that there were a lot of people moving around as they were taking care of their work for the day. There were, of course, people who looked towards his direction. They would take a double look at him to notice that he was the Silver Eagle Captain a bunch of them would bow to him.
Yuurei would see this as he would smile at them and he would bow towards them. The noble would forget that people would move quickly to show respect around here, but he would do the same thing. There were those he would wave towards as he had a smile on his face and they would do the same thing. They knew about how he was, and that he wasn’t the typical noble that they had to see in their past.
He would make his way towards the church area; there he would hear children playing around and it seemed like they were being entertained in some kind of way. It wouldn’t take him long to get there as he would see a beautiful woman off in the distance and then there was a ram as well. Yuurei would watch the two and it would seem like they were battling against each other. That was when he saw the two clash against each other before the woman tossing the ram off in the distance. His eyes widen when he saw the strength behind this woman.
Still, it seemed like the ram wasn’t done as it would get back up as it was ready for round two. Yuurei wanted to intervene, but it would seem like she didn’t need anybody’s help. Instead, he decided to cheer on with the kids as they didn’t notice his presence as he hid his mana signature, so nobody would be overwhelmed.
“You got this lady! You are really strong!” He said as he crouched down as he was next to a kid.
The kid would turn to see who had shouted this out loud to Bryn and when they saw the man they all got excited.
“It’s Yuurei.” They would say this as they were going to go rush him, but he would point at the lady as she was giving the kids a show.
They would stop their movements and would continue to cheer on Bryn as he would do the same thing wondering how she was going to tame the Ram.

She had to change the approach. Tossing this angry ram around was gonna leave both her and it more sore than it was worth. The first go around definitely knicked her mana skin and this stubborn beast was proving to be more similar to Bryn than she cared to admit. When a challenge is thrown down, neither seem to want to back down. Looking that she had her east and south side surrounded by waist high stone juts, perhaps a hard enough hit could put this ruffian down with a nothing more than lump on its head? She decided to give it a go, putting her left leg forward as she moved her core section's weight on the rear leg.
The mighty ram snorted and kicked off to plow through the girl's orient-inspired combat stance. All of the children cheered in anticipation of the impending conflict, with hooves rushing and hands waiting. With a push, the creature ducked its head down and pumped up to gut check Bryn with its hard head!
"One O'Two Niyam.." Bryn chanted, shifting her red aura into a spiraling green whirl. The beast was met with a flushing sensation by an unseeable force as Bryn's body became coated in a faint emerald glow. Not to be deterred however, Bryn's eyes widened as the creature's actual aim was off-axis. She could have sworn there was a smirk on the beast's face when it passed by. The clank of its hooves suddenly kicking off the rock to Bryn's side. Her flank suddenly feeling the blunt force of the beast's head. Before being sent down by this exchange, Bryn's opposing arm swung under the creature and gripped the fur hard. She would tug hard with gravity by her side, dragging down the creature into an awkward landing and securing the escape from a follow-up trample.
She tumbled about from the ram's exchange. The woman, still stunned at the sudden change in trajectory, had a stroke of inspiration! Most of her spells so far had been about reinforcing what she was already given. The encounter at the manor however highlighted the weakness to her style and these past few days were spent trying to figure how to overcome the age-old problem for pugilists: hitting something out of arm's reach. Color Bryn white for not being the most creative person in the village, but she really was trying her best to avoid creating wings out of her element. Then came this stupid animal, rapidly changing direction mid-movement with a kickoff? She needed to give it a try!
The kids were back in a cheer when both contestants stood back up to the plate. Four-legged, two-horned fury began charging at Bryn immediately to seize the initiative. Bryn, having a general idea of what to do, took off too! Figuring that adding a bit of momentum would assist the virgin voyage, the two of them were set to collide! Bryn channeled a bit of energy towards her feet and she kicked off...
...literally. The push off from the ground was rather sudden, but the accidental second step mid air caused Bryn's trajectory to change from a straight shot to a rolling tumble in the sky. She spun about helplessly as various spurts of blue energy kicked up, Bryn screaming a bit as her bottom landed rough in the bed of grass. Seated like a teddie bear, the children laughed at the funny misfire of a spell. Bryn shook off the impact and scoffed, mumbling to herself what went wrong.

Yuurei watched the young girl and would see the aura that she was putting out. The mana that was surrounding her said so and he could see how it moved around her body. This brought him to continue to watch as he was more interested in the girl before. That was a nice way to use her magic as just from the fighting stance alone he could tell that she was power oriented in her magic. That was good he needed someone by his side that could dish out some good attacks. Still, he didn’t know why he thought about that. He made it seemed like she was fine with joining the Magic Knights and everything, but it would be cool right?
That was when he saw that she was off on her feet and into the air. It was nice to see, but she seemed like she couldn’t handle the spell from his eyes. He was shocked to see her crashing down on the ground that way as he didn’t expect that at all. The noble could easily have saved her but chose to stay out of it. Instead, he decided to do something else; while the kids were laughing he would look at all of them and he would shake his head. This would cause them to stop laughing at her and they wondered what Yuurei wanted them to do.
“We can all see she is trying her best to make sure that the Ram doesn’t go loose and hurt all of you guys. It also seems like she is trying her hardest to become stronger. Instead of laughing at her guys, let's support her and hope that she can take out the ram.” He said this to them as they would understand that, but would ask a question before cheering Bryn.
“What if Bryn can’t do anything to the ram Yuurei?” She asked him curious to hear what he had to say.
“I believe that she can, but if she can’t and I see that things get too out of hand, then I will make sure to protect her. I won’t let anything bad happen to her.” He said to the kids as they would nod having her his answer.
They would start cheering for Bryn and hoping that she would be okay. Yuurei would cheer with them as he was excited to see what she would do next. He had his grimoire ready just in case things turned out for the worse as he was a defensive mage it was his job to protect those who needed. Still, he had faith that she would be able to take care of herself.

The children seemed to have quieted down by the voice of an older entrant. Fairly good looking for a fellow black, long haired fellow, though she noticed the man had an air about him that warranted concern. Call it a hunch but her feeling that this was a person of serious power was something she couldn't shake off. She would have to offer him some thanks later on. Children being children was not something to get worked up about, but sparing her from being a laughing stock was a small blessing all the same. She flashed him a thumbs up as a down payment though!
The ram chimed in loudly, reminding Bryn that they weren't done. Or at least he wasn't since Bryn was getting tired of this pointless squabble. It took off with a dash, with Bryn doing the same. This time however, she kept in mind that the energy flowing to her feet needed to be even after liftoff. There was no need to punch everything into the launch, as she was just switching the field her feet would be moving on. All the kids began to marvel at the sight of Bryn's figure slowly leaving the ground, treating the very air as the ground they stood upon. Bryn's mind was focused even for the tiny bit her feet were off the ground, until she was about five paces away from another head-on collision. She took one longer stride and kicked off her stride into a flip. It was a beautifully strange sight, as her long hair with a red bead at the end trailed behind her acrobatic motion.
Keeping her body straight until her red boots were at the noon position, she bent her knees then and seemingly kicked off the air. Speeding down to the ram's figure that was now directly below her. She tucked her legs towards her butt just before her hands clamped down onto the ram's wool, seemingly doing an upside down dunking motion. The blue aura about her legs glowed brighter as she contracted her core to her thighs, lifting up the ram into the air with her. Such a weight quickly swung around and caused Bryn to change directions suddenly. Buckling her knees back in and then kicking back, she called out,
"JHOONKA..QADAAM!"
The aura flared up about her feet as she pushed off the air once more till she could stumble into a landing. Walking on the earth once more, while holding a squirming angry ram overhead firmly, Bryn's little maneuver got the children up in cheers. So much so, that they began to jump over the wooden fence and scurry on over to her as she lift-carried the grumpy ram towards the flock. It seemed to have submitted to being carried like a haybale. The children and Bryn regrouped near the flock, who were lazily grazing and baa'ing. Some of the young lambs made their way over to the newcomers, looking extra floofy and in need of a shear. Bryn turned her attention to scolding the beast before letting it down.
"Now I want you to behave Mr. Ram. Causing trouble like hurting little Jimmy and Suzy when they're just tryin' to give your babies a wool cut is mighty rude you know? You need to apologize to them!"
Said children became clear when the others stepped away, revealing a pair of red-haired eleven-year-olds with bandages and a sling on. The boy had his arm slung up and the girl's right leg was in a cast. They probably got here quickly with help from their peers, who all snickered when the ram begrudingly baa'd in an apologetic tone. Bryn squatted with the ram overhead still, allowing little Suzy and Jimmy to pet the ram while whispering that they forgave him. According to them, this gruff buff was just being an overprotective new daddy. Apologies exchanged, Bryn put down the ram and gave him a pet. The ram nuzzled against her knees, seemingly respecting the fighting spirit she showed.
One of the kids who was talking to Yuurei earlier spoke up to him once more, "Sorry bout laughing earlier Mr Yuurei, but we really weren't trying to be mean. Ms. Bryn offered to help Jimmy and Suzy with their chores since they got hurt by the daddy ram. She's been at it for the past two days and helping us too! When the sister tried to pay her for it, Ms. Bryn just gave the money back to us and told to sneak it in the house."
Bryn started to glare at the boy, sending a shiver down his spine. She then scolded him, saying "You oughtta get to work milking and giving these babes a hair cut! They're finally gathered up and you know you gotta earn your supper at the orphanage!"
The children responded with a lazy "Oooookay" and got to work. Bryn dusted herself off and walked towards Yuurei, giving him a once over now that he was closer. Offering a handshake, she introduced herself.
"'Ppreciate you keeping them entertained. They can be a handful. I'm Bryn Halcyon. Not too often I see a magic knight come out to these parts for the young ones."

Yuurei would notice the thumbs up and he would smile at her as there was nothing to it. She would run towards her target once again, and he would watch her wondering if she was going to do what she needed to do to master this spell of hers. She would make it to the air like she did before and at the same time he would see the ram in the air as well. It wouldn’t take long, but it seemed like she would be able to get a hold of the spell that she messed up on and at the same time defeated the Ram that was causing her a lot of trouble. He would watch her land and see the kids running towards her as they climbed the fence. He would stand up tall as he would look off from a distance as he watched how excited they were.
That’s good that they are happy. I’m glad I came here today, or I wouldn’t have been able to see such a sight. He thought to himself as he watched her take the ram into a flock of sheep. The noble would look at her and he would chuckle a bit as she was chatting with the sheep before putting him down. It would seem like things became clear and the Ram had harmed the kids that lived here. That was upsetting and he wished that he had some type of healing magic. That was when he looked at his ring and he chuckled as he figured he could heal them that way if they were up for it. One of the kids would speak to him and he would hear his explanation of why Bryn was here.
He nodded towards the kid as he patted him in the head with a smile on his face.
“Thank you for letting me know. I will thank her for helping Jimmy and Suzy. I also think it is best that I heal those two myself as well.” He said to the kid as he looked straight towards Bryn as she spoke to the kid who was speaking to him.
He would just look at her as she would make her way towards him and he would stand tall as she had walked over to him. The noble would climb over the fence without a problem and soon enough they would be close enough for her to give out a handshake. She would introduce herself, which he knew her first name already because of the children. The wind mage chuckled when he heard what she said as it was true that it wasn’t often that Magic Knights would come around here unless they were the Green Mantis. He would hear what she said and he would rub the back of his head as he was fine with kids as he used to be one.
“Nice to meet you, Bryn. I’m Yuurei Krane, or like some people enjoy calling me, the Silver Tempest.” He introduced himself as he shook her hand for a bit and then stepped a bit closer to her as he kissed her hand before letting go.
“I usually go all around the kingdom whenever I’m not doing paperwork. I like to make sure that there isn’t anything bad happening within the Forsaken Region. It was not too long ago there were demonic creatures trying to ruin the lives of the people within this kingdom. I did my part to stop one strong demon and I want to make sure that these kids don’t have to worry about evil things.” He said to her.
“I also see that you helped out a lot, but refused to take their money. I can understand why you might have done that. If anything is there something I can do to offer you for payment for helping the people of Hage?” He asked her wondering what she would say to him.

Raising an eyebrow at Yuurei's overly courteous gesture, she did not resist out of respect for the man's previous actions. Nor the fact he was a noble, but she pushed aside her bias for the greater picture. This Yuurei, whomst existence was familiar to her for some reason, meant no harm and already was leagues above the other sticks due to even caring about smaller zones outside of the capital. It was a welcomed change of pace, as the past few week's encounters with the upper crust was simply maddening. A world so comfortable and enclosed seemed to be a prison to Bryn. Who would ever willing subject themselves to such a terrible end?
Still, this man deserved an answer. "Nope. I'm good."
Noticing a little lamb seemingly rolling over to Bryn's leg due to the amount of wool on its body, Bryn picked the beast up and began to pet it. She then looked over towards Yuurei to give the reason why.
"You're one of the captains of the Magic Knights right? My brother used to talk about the fabled Silver Tempest and really looked up to you as a light against the prejudice my family got for being commoners. So I can understand that your intentions are well placed Yuurei, as both a hero of the Kingdom and genuinely an earnest person."
The sheep baa'd as it doze off in Bryn's firm grip.
"So don't take it personally when I don't want any sort of charity or reward for something any folk in the Kingdom ought to do for their fellow kind. These times are better but since I've been going around the villages and helping where I can, people are still rebuilding what they used to consider to be normal. My family disappeared during the raid by the devil and I'll never get that back. Fortunately, we Halcyon's are cursed with stupidly strong will and other people are hurting worse. Better to get at it and keep the clover's sprouts alive."
It was not an unexpected answer and the frankness of her tone was meant to prove there was no air of political correctness surrounding Bryn. Her posture was unshaken
"So was there another reason other than your lack of faith in the Green Mantis's competency Yuurei to come to Hage? I'd imagine these kids would love to hear your stories or even a chance to prove their worth as a future recruit. Sure is a rarity to see a Captain roaming without a catastrophe going on after all."
Post by Yuurei Krane on Jun 17, 2020 4:53:56 GMT -5
He would hear her answer and he would smile as he figured that he wouldn’t bother her with trying to get her anything. Instead, he thought about her magic and figured that he would at least ask her what kind of magic she used. It looked familiar to pure aura, but he wasn’t sure. The ones he had seen before were demonic in nature and Bryn’s was soothing and different. He would blush a bit when he heard the words that had come out of Bryn. She complimented and he was a bit embarrassed about it; it caused him to move his right arm to the back of his head as he chuckled to try and calm himself. Then she explained herself in details and he nodded to what she said as he placed his arm back to his side and in the end, he liked what she said.
Yuurei enjoyed people like this who did whatever they could to give back to the community. It was all he wanted for everybody to do within the kingdom. Still, it seemed that a lot of nobles found it hard to get out of their own asses and helps those who needed it. She asked him if he had another reason for being in Hage and the young man would look into the air as he was thinking about it. He hummed a bit while thinking about it before he would look down to meet with Bryn’s eyes.
“I don’t think there was another reason for me to be around Hage. I mean now that I saw those two kids hurt, I’m going to heal them real quick. And don’t tell the Green Mantis I don’t have faith in them, but they are kind of a little weird.” He laughed a bit when he said this to her.
“I don’t mind telling them stories and they can always prove their worth to me. I enjoy the sight of hardworking people, and I love seeing their magic.” He said as he figured he would ask her now that she brought it up.
“What about you Bryn. Do you or would you feel interested in joining the Magic Knights? I like people like you, determination, the respect that you have for people around you, and the idea of always looking out for the people around you.” He said to her as he looked over to the children.
“I was also wondering if you could tell me about your magic. I found it pretty amazing when I saw you using it against the ram. Maybe you can tell me more about it while we walk to the children.” He would say this as he walked over to the children who were doing their chores.
Suzy and Jimmy were relaxing as they were smiling and watching the other kids have fun. He would make his way towards them as he felt like they needed the most help out of everyone here. When he got to them they would look at him with a smile on their face as they noticed who was here. Yuurei would give them a smile back as he was happy to see them.
“I see the ram hurt you two. Don’t worry I can help you two with that. When I open a portal I want you two to walk in one each and stay in there until I tell you two to come out okay?” He said this to them as they were confused at first, but trusted him that they nodded in agreement.
Yuurei would move his hand out as he would activate the ring that was on his finger and he would create two portals in front of him. Suzzy and Jimmy would enter the portals like he asked them to and he would wait a bit to heal up completely.

Glazing over the baby lamb once more, Bryn showed she was once again ready with an answer to Yuurei's inquiry. She took a step forward towards him whilst maintaining eye contact. As she took that lone step, an ethereal copy of her upper half remained in her last fixed position. Still cradling the sleeping lamb, while bending down slowly. The core of the aura Bryn was more transparent than the arms; a side-effect to what was probably an incomplete spell. Bryn's aura doppelganger managed to place the sleeping creature down peacefully before fading into thin air.
"I'm no scholar Yuurei, but seems to be pure aura. Not too sure of the specifics really but I try to keep a mantra about one body mind and soul. Unifying the element as an extension of myself has been my goal so far, besides joining the next Magic Knight exams. Was doing a job for a tomato vendor during the last one, unfortunately, so I was unable to take a crack at being just like the rest of my family." Bryn mused on about as they walked towards the children.
"I've only recently started thinking of concepts on how to use my aura. Doppelganger helps a lot with my stance heavy martial arts. Fills the gaps and transitions when normally I'd be open. The air step thing was something I've been trying to work out since I tackled the wicked house over in Hapshass. Kind of a problem if I have to rely on my Shoony when I rather be up close."
As she called out shoony, a sphere of blue energy danced about Bryn's fingers. It bounced like an actual rubber ball but was no bigger than a cherry tomato. Sometimes it expanded to the size of an apple, then back to the cherry tomato. None of Bryn's spells were overly flashy. She knew this and sometimes envied those who could create fantastical spells. What she had a good grasp on subconsciously was the added utility of what little was available. What Bryn slowly noticed about magic was the manifestation of the person's own ego and experience. Her family, while not note-worthy in the grand scheme of things, were considered heroes in their border town. Always had eyes for the smaller people, who were the blood of the kingdom.
She would mention to Yuurei that her father was a member of the orcas, her mother an azur deer, and the stupid older brother was a black bull. None of them actually complained about their placement but rather sought to see how they could serve the vessels of the kingdom. Though officially missing, she was more than confident all of them gave their all for the kingdom they loved; much like how she would when the time came. If the people breathed life with their endeavors, then the nobles were the vessels that were to funnel the effort to the rest of the body. Under the guidance of the brain and heart, respectively the King and the Captains. Whenever she thought of it this way, it always made sense and confusing why either piece would forget the reason any could exist.
As they reached the kids, Bryn dispelled her little shoony spell and watched the Silver Captain show his magic off. A lot of the kids watched in awe, as little Suzy and Jimmy walked through the portal. In with the beaten and out brand spanking new. Truly, as she knew this was a world of magic, it was a wonderful thing. The children cheered and surrounded their rejuvenated comrades for a short while. Then it was all eyes on Yuurei, bombarding him with questions about what that was, if he really was the mighty Silver Tempest, and if he was looking to hire some of the best in Hage. Those were the boy's questions. Bryn stifled a snicker at those who were issuing a challenge to Yuurei. Youngins with the wooden blades and their imagination well sharpened, they cheered proudly that their spells could blast Sister Bryn back a few.
If he bothered to look, Bryn would quickly flash her aura. It was a form of game to keep their minds sharp and inventive. Even if it was a tiny lie, the kids weren't stupid. They knew Bryn was helping them but it was something to hope for. A beautiful thing in rough times such as these.
"One day, I'll earn my right to wear a coat too. Aim higher and never forget the roots that gave me life. That's my dream someday Yuurei."

So the magic that she was using was indeed Pura Aura. He had his suspicions, but he had to make sure as he didn’t want to look like a fool and guessing her magic and be wrong about it. She explained a bit more and spoke about joining the Magic Knight Exams. That was interesting to hear as he was planning on asking her if she wanted to join the Silver Eagles. He would look at her and figured that she would do amazing if she truly decided to take the exams. It seemed that throughout her talking he heard that she had traversed within the dungeon that was in Hapshass. It was a place that only Knights went in there and would bring other people with them. He wondered who she had gone with as he kept looking at her.
It seemed like she was strong indeed and she was still learning. He could only smile because that was a good thing and it would always be a good thing to do. The Silver Tempest knew this feeling because even with all of his strength, he was indeed learning that he could indeed become stronger than he was currently. The one thing that was on his mind was how he was able to throw out more than two Grand spells of his at a time. That was something that needed to be done and he planned on training himself so he could do just that in the future. Those daemons were strong and having fought another one within the coliseum wasn’t something he expected. The noble looked away from Bryn as he looked into the air as she spoke about her family being spread across the Magic Knights.
Now back to Suzzy and Jimmy.
“You two can step out now.” He would say this as the two kids as they would step out of the portal as he would close once they were clear.
They were indeed back to normal, and when he saw all the kids rushing towards him, they asked a bunch of questions. Yuurei would smile at them when he heard these questions because he was happy to answer them all. He glanced off to Bryn when she showed off her mana towards the kid and chuckled a bit. She would of course speak up and he would nod and smile as he was glad to hear her determination.
“Now now there. Yes, I’m the Silver Tempest guys. As for hiring, you guys are still too young, but sensing the mana within all of you I can see that there are plenty of you guys that will show your skills in the future of the exams and will be able to join the Silver Eagles.” He said with a smile on his face as he looked over to Bryn for a second and then back to the kids.
“I was going to ask Bryn if she wanted to join the Silver Eagles, but she mentioned taking the exams, so now I feel like she is going to deny that invitation and I guess prove her worth in the next exams.” He said to the kids with a smile on his face.
“I think she will be a good addition within the Silver Eagles and she will be able to help change how others see that squad as a whole. Of course, in the future, you guys will be able to do the same.” He said to them as he remembered them asking him about the magic he used.
“The magic I used is from an item that I got after looking for materials to create. My real magic is nothing like that. I use wind magic and that is why they apparently call me the Silver Tempest.” He would say this as he would use a bit of his magic revealing the source of his mana to Bryn.
The wind would move around as it picked up leaves, and the wind mage would move the leaves around as if they were dancing in the air. The kids would see this as he was able to control his magic perfectly and they just looked up in amazement.
“When I heard Bryn was helping you guys better yourself it made me happy that you guys were listening to her. She has what it takes so keep listening to her.” He said to them as he looked at her.
“Are you perhaps still training any of your spells Bryn, or that was the only one you were working on?” He asked her wondering what she would say to him.

"I got a few more ideas that I'm hoping will give me a few more options. Sort of the fellow who likes a tool that can be used masterfully rather than a master with many tools. Both are cool, but it's easier to draw from a smaller and more familiar belt." Bryn quickly noted. "And while the smart side of me is saying to accept your input and help...it's no fair to have any favortism for the little ones here."
Some of the kids were confused as to why their Sister Bryn would deny the chance to impress or take the offer to join Captain Yuurei. Silver Eagles was one of the most prestigious units of the Clover Kingdom and for a commoner to capture the attention of their leader was a rarity. Or at least it was what was believed in the outskirts of the kingdom. Bryn flashed Yuurei a look showing that this was the type of misconception that had spread due to the disparity between the different social classes. There was strength in the solidarity between groups and she had once believed this to be true. Seeing the greater threat though, the likelihood of their enemy sniping their target based on the same criteria was unlikely.
"Blood is blood. Merit and respect are earned through one's own work. I do not want Captain Yuurei's kindness and Lady Luck to be the reason my mantle comes by. Luck is a blessing as whimsical as the wind. Skill and what you work on every day....annd they're back to you Yuurei. Bryn mused until she noticed the kids went back to the shiny new captain.
Shrugging, she understood the feeling. Boring life lessons will come later one way or another. These children needed something brighter to deal with the post-calamity life. Still, she dilly-dallied enough and lacked the luxury to spare like the kids. Walking away for a bit to grab the pales of filled sheep's milk and wool shavings stacked neatly in a tower. Focusing her aura to resummon the doppelganger arms from her body, the woman loaded up to the max. Two pails on each arm. She looked towards Yuurei and gave a small curtsy.
"Preciate the tag out on the kid's duty Yuurei. Maybe I'll get my chance later to impress you in front of everyone." before walking back to the village.

Yuurei would hear her words and it seemed like she had quite a few ideas for her magic. That was good to hear, and he would be happy to see it in action. The noble was going to help her out with her spells, but it seemed for now she was fine. It also seemed like she didn’t want to be taken in straight into the Silver Eagle, and he was fine with that. The wind mage could easily give the woman an exam for her to prove her worth to him.
“Then I guess when you ready and you don’t want to take the exams, you can always find me. I will be more than happy to give you a test to prove your worth.” He said to her.
That was when she spoke to the kids and soon enough they would rush straight towards him. The wind mage would chuckle a bit as he would just pat them on the head. He would speak to them about the stories of his adventures within the dungeons that he had traversed it. They would be amused with everything he had said and he could only smile at them. He enjoyed their look and he was happy that they were still innocent. Yuurei just enjoyed telling his story to them and he would pause a bit when he looked over to Bryn.
It seemed like she was going to the village and he would nod towards her.
“I will be there later, so I will find you when I can. Then we can talk more if you want to.” He said this to her with a smile on his face.
He would turn straight to the kids as he was going to entertain them. They wanted to hear more about his stories and he was willing to tell them more about it. Suzy and Jimmy were happy that they were no longer hut from the ram. They were able to move around like their friends and they were happy that Yuurei had come to their home. This man was of course different than most nobles and just his actions were enough to show that he cared a lot.
They would cheer on with his story and wanted more, and he would only chuckle about this. The noble told them that he would continue telling them stories on the way to the village. They would agree with that and they would start moving together as he continued telling the stories of his past and the people that he met as well.
