Ophelia would look for a nice and flat place to be able to try and experiment with one of her spells. It was a hard spell, something that she knew she could not do unless she focused properly. Instead of a regular spell, she knew that this one was much more powerful, and sometimes her mana had not been complying. She felt as though that the mana she had been pouring into the spell had too little, and the spell would not manifest itself. It had irked her for the longest time, and after making it to the Purple Orcas, she knew she needed to push herself further. How much further, however, was the question.

She paused for a moment, finding a nice field just outside of town. This should do the trick, and it gave her quite a bit of space to work with. The best thing to do at this point was to try and push her mana to even higher heights. And she was prepared for that, having meditated for the night.

“Let’s do this then.”

Ophelia closed her eyes, her grimoire glowing bright mercurial. She would nod to herself, before finding the page where the spell was. She hoped that she could do this properly now, her mana prepared to be used in a very interesting manner.

Ophelia poured mana into her spell. She poured and poured, until she found herself unable to control the output of the spell. Without pause, the mana she had poured would burst on her, and she would be thrown back. The force was too strong, and she would not make it out alive.

The small explosion would have caught the attention of those nearby. Quickly, after seeing the young woman’s appearance, the Silva family was called, as well as the Purple Orcas. It took little time for the SIlva family to claim the corpse of their young member, before Ophelia Silva was quickly taken to the familial estate. There would be mourning, and a few days of funeral rites, before she would be entombed with her ancestors.

It was a sad event, a by-product of the young woman’s need to achieve and inability to understand the dangers of egregious mana build-up.
