A suspicious amount of wolves has been spotted on the outskirts of Hage and some farmers requested a group of Magic Knights to lower their numbers before it becomes a bigger issue. Wolves usually were in packs with a leader, going out alone without company will probably be an issue if the Magic Knight wasn't strong enough. So being accompanied was a wise idea. A Wolfpack is capable of surrounding a human and killing him without giving him a chance to fight back.
His life had changed ever since he joined the Magic Knights, something he never expected to ever happen despite having those dreams when he was much younger. To the surprise of some people around him, the lazy magic knight performed well enough that he even managed to get promoted to the rank of Intermediate 5th Class. Maybe he was more than just a lazy magic knight, despite his position as a commoner in a Kingdom where there's a huge amount of division between social classes, the nobles always looking down to the peasants and believing themselves superior. Nonetheless, for some reason the foolish black bull kept going even though he was lazy.
Charles made his way to the town of Hage. Which was close to the town of Sosshi were the Black Bulls base was located. Flying all the way to Hage didn't take long and was the preferred method of transportation he will prefer. After all, he even had his own transportation spell, as expected from a lazy person who will rather stay on the base the entire day than do missions unlike other members of the Black Bulls who were very much workaholic. The black bull arrived at the town, it was relatively close to the outskirts, but still inside the town. Going out to the outskirts wasn't a wise decision and even if he could manage to fight a pack of wolves it will probably be very annoying to fight them alone. The silver owl in which his main method of transportation landed on the town in a clear area to not disturb any of the civilians. It was starting to get dark, this was usually the time wolves will come out and do their things. There wasn't a lot of human activity on the night, so it made easier for them to roam around without getting disturbed.
He got off the silver owl and leaned on it. Expecting more magic knights to come, as they requested more than him, he was sure of that. Charles took a moment to look around the town. The civilians were heading home to rest with their families something relatively normal for a town located in the Forsaken Region. Seeing all of those people going home to rest made him want to do the same, go back to the Black Bulls base, and slack off as usual, but sadly he wouldn't be able to do that until he finishes this mission. "I hope those guys are here soon, I am starting to get bored..." He yawned, a clear sign of the magic knight's laziness as usual. The black bull hoped that the rest of the magic knights arrived soon, he wanted to finish this as soon as possible go back home and get some rest.
Since nobody was looking and he was still waiting for the other magic knights to come. He started considering taking a short nap while leaning on his silver owl, nobody will bother to and he will probably be able to tell when the rest arrive. It was a good way to kill time too. Charles proceeded to get his head in a comfortable position and closed his eyes. He took a short nap while he waited, they will probably wake him up when they are here.
Hans had just entered the town of Hage. He had taken yet another job request which was fortunate for him since he was getting low on yul. As a mercenary, Hans has found himself taking on all sorts of jobs, selling his services for the right price. Recently, the merc has not been getting that many jobs. Usually Magic Knights are the ones called upon by most folks, and it seems those that give out more morally questionable jobs were on the low, possibly hiding out from the law and those who went undercover as mercs to try and find criminals. It was starting to make Hans' job harder. Even with a four leaf grimoire, the merc wasn't as that sought after as he originally was. It made sense though since anyone who put the work in could prove a more capable asset than the dark mage. Still he couldn't complain. This was bound to happen eventually.
The sword wielding merc traversed across the town with the amount of people around dwindling as it got dark out. Hans was here to take care of some wolves that have been known to harass people around the farm areas on the outskirt of this town. The farmers that requested this also wanted them to bring back these beast's pelts to confirm their defeat. Wouldn't be the first time Hans needed to bring back proof of the completion of a mission. Not everything could be taken by words alone.
Even in the night, Hans had a good view of that giant demon skull in the background, one of the things this town was known for. To think such large monstrous creatures existed that long ago. It could make one wonder if these things were still around today...lurking somewhere in the world. They must've been quite powerful but that was just judging from size alone. Hans didn't know much about demons or what powers these beings could possess. However, this wasn't the point of why he was here, so the merc didn't think too much about it. Instead, he continued his walk, getting closer to the area he was tasked to head to. The man would squint his eyes as he noticed something large in the direction of his destination.
It appeared to be a bird of some kind, a giant owl...made of silver. No questioning that it was the work of magic, but he was more curious about who it belonged to. Soon Hans would get his answer as he noticed a figure leaning against it. The closer the merc got, the more he could make out his features, taking notice of the magic knight cloak he wore. A Black Bull knight? It seems he was here for this job too which made sense because the request primarily called for the aid of someone in the order. Still, other capable mages were allowed to help as well...just not preferred as much. Though, the merc was mostly expecting to see Green Mantis knights instead since this is the town their base is said to be located in. The dark mage decided to put these thoughts to the side however as he approached the black bull.
"Hey." the man simply said in an attempt to wake the guy up. Hans was a man of few words, not being the best in social situations. He was more focused on getting the job done. "Here for the job?"

While New Haven was not as known to anyone outside of The Forsaken Region, the many towns and settlements within its borders knew of the refugee town and its people intimately, save for one. One pink-haired elf girl with an agoraphobic outlook on the world because she wanted to keep it safe from herself, because she didn't want to dance like a maniac under the full moon, purely because she was scared of harming one more person. Willow Omens was doing her best to foray out and trundle along through The Clover Kingdom, see the world, well, as much of the world as she could within Clover's borders that is.
She was on her way with an entourage of three men from her village, as was the standard to keep from freaking out. One broad-shouldered with arms covered in scars, his hair orange with two black shaved sections on the side of his cranium. The second lean with a scar across the bridge of his nose and spanning all of the ways to his ears. The third was a hunched over elderly man, though under that poncho one could easily see that he did not have to worry about his physical condition at all!
They were in the town of Hage, trying to find Willow, as she was rambunctious since she had become more open about the neighboring towns, calling them part of her comfort zone. As a downside to this, she was more exuberant about exploring and tended to get off on her own, lost, for lack of any better simile.
"I am telling you, she went off to the merchant quarter to see if she can buy more maps." Said one of them. "No, no, she would likely seek out food." Said the second. "That would be true, had she not had most of the food here already!" Retorted the first man. Butting in was the elder of the two, "She may well be enjoying a dish again, she may well be in the merchant quarter, the simple thing to do would be as follows: simply ask around for any information on a girl with long pink hair." Said he, as they walked by Charles and Hans. "Well, someone would have to know her. And she couldn't have gotten far! So, let's just do that!" Barked the first man, folding his arms while the second was in agreement.
Meanwhile, at the edge of the town, there was a commotion brewing as a crop patch was being run through, and someone was screaming bloody murder. Chased by eighteen wolves, eighteen larger than average wolves, eighteen mana infused hungry to tear in to flesh wolves...Willow was trying to keep ahead of them while distracting them with her shouting!
The fringes of her poncho and sarong a definite draw for the lupines who saw the hide garment as a good chew toy! "UWAAAA PLEASE! NO NO! I AM NOT BEING THE FOOD! I AM ASKING YOU TO BE LETTING UP YES?" She squealed while jumping and rolling about, trying to avoid the myriad of chomps and snarls coming at her behind.

Charles fell asleep beside his silver owl. Hoping to get some rest before the mission started and as he waited for the others to come. The silver mage then woke up to someone talking to him, opening his eyes he saw how there was a dark-haired man that looked older than him. He didn't look like a Magic Knight as he wasn't wearing a mantle that represented his squad. "Hello... And yeah... You are not a Magic Knight, I assume you got hired for the job?" He spoke in a monotonous way, he was a bit sleepy as he just woke up from his nap. He wasn't a Magic Knight so he was probably a mercenary that was hired by the people from Hage, he knew about the job they had to do after all so he was safe to assume he was hired. The black bull didn't have an issue, after all being accompanied was better for him.
After having a small talk with the mercenary Charles saw several men talking about something as they walked past them. They were speaking loud enough for him to hear the conversation from a distance. He wasn't paying a lot of attention to what they said until they mentioned a girl with long pink hair. The moment they mentioned that the image of Willow flashed through his mind, she met her months ago and hasn't seen her ever since, but her pink hair was something that made it hard for him to forget about her. He was the only pink-haired person he knew so it was going to be hard even for someone as lazy as him to forget about her. Not only that but the men that mentioned the pink-haired girl talked in a similar way Willow did, which made think if they were from the village. If he remembered correctly she always had warriors from her village look for hair. Those men fitted the description of a warrior judging by their size.
The silver mage looked at the men that walked past them, he was too lazy to raise his voice at this point in time, but that was the only way they will be able to hear him. "Oi! Is the pink-haired girl you guys are talking about called Willow by any chance?" He raised his voice this time in order for the men to hear him. As he was about to talk to the men Charles heard a commotion on the edge of the town, the commotion was loud enough for him and the black-haired mercenary to him. "Crap..." He muttered himself, that commotion could only mean one thing, the wolves they were looking for already started rampaging, the sun could no longer be seen during this point in time so it was obvious they got started. The black looked at Hans, he probably knew by now what that commotion meant.
Charles got on top of his silver owl. "Get on it... We will get there faster this way." He motioned the mercenary to get on the silver owl, it had the capacity to support two other people aside from him, so there was enough space to be on it. As soon as get on it the owl flew to the direction of the commotion, it wouldn't take a lot of time for the two of them to get there. Multiple wolves could be seen chasing someone, as soon as he saw that the lazy black bull let out a sigh, those were a lot of wolves. No wonder why requested a job to get rid of them. The silver owl landed on top of a rooftop believing it will be safer to land there instead of the ground since the wolves could target them as they descended which left them vulnerable.
The black bull got off of the silver owl and looked over the group of wolves who were chasing the person. It was time to get started otherwise someone could get injured, at the end of the day, Charles just wanted to finish this job as soon as possible, get paid and go back to his room and slack off for the rest of the night, that's how the magic knight rolled. It was time to get started...
Name of Spell: Silver Owl Elemental Type: Silver with Lightning Oddity Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate | Supplementary Construct, Transportation Range & Speed: 3 passengers | 15 m/s Mana Cost: 20 | 10 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: N/A Description: Charles creates an owl made out of silver big enough to carry 3 people. The silver owl is capable of flying which is used for quick and long distance transportation.
Hans simply nodded as an answer to the Magic Knight's question. This was a common occurrence for Hans lately, not that he had any problems working with a knight. It was simply business, just like if he would need to work with a criminal, the merc wouldn't really bat an eye so long as the pay is good. Though illegal jobs have been pretty scarce for the dark mage recently, but it was probably just a coincidence.
The merc was now silently observing that silver owl. It appeared to be a transportation type spell no doubt, something Hans was still incapable of doing. A nice alternative to those flying brooms...which again is something the man lacks, but has thought about getting. It would be better to use then just walking around or spending yul on carriage rides. As he continued to quietly admire the spell, the dark mage couldn't help but hear some folks who were walking by, sounding like they were looking for someone. It didn't really interest the man, but the same couldn't be said about the knight he was suppose to be partnering with.
"Hmm." Hearing the bull's sudden shout, Hans looked in his direction with an eyebrow raised, before turning his entire body to face the three he were talking to. They looked to be a rather interesting little group and didn't look to be from this town. Seems that the bull knows of the person these three are looking for. Not really having anything to do with him, the merc just stood there and let the younger male talk. Being the patient person he is, Hans wasn't bothered by any of this because either way he was going to get this job done and take care of those wolves.
Speak of the devil...
Some howling could be heard coming from the edge of town, around the location where they were told to start their wolf hunting. Other than that there was also a scream in the same direction, causing the merc to gasp lightly. Looks like it was time to roll, and the Magic Knight was on the same page!
Looking back towards the bull, Hans nodded with a prepared look on his face as he got onto the silver owl. As it took flight, Hans started looking down at the ground while his hair flowed through the air a little. This was his first time being so high in the air. The guy wasn't sure what to expect at first, his heart racing a little, but as quickly as his uncertainty of flying came, it was gone. He could definitely get use to flying around like this, but this wasn't the time for that. He had a job to do.
Before the owl even landed, Hans took notice of the pack of wolves chasing after a girl...with pink hair? Was this a coincidence?
Once the silver constructed owl landed, Hans hopped off of it and stood on the roof, still watching the wolves. "Ready yourself. There's over ten of them." the man claimed as he unsheathed his katana. His four leafed grimoire floated from out of its holding space, and flipped to a certain page. A dark aura both formed around the book and the merc, but the aura around Hans started to morph, taking the shape of a medieval armor that was completely transparent with some darkness floating up from certain areas of it similar to smoke. With the wolves being close enough and the roof not that high, Hans was able to jump off in their direction, aiming to land in the middle of about six of them. As he made his way to the ground, the merc faced the tip of his sword to the ground while the grimoire flipped a few pages quickly! The silver blade of the sword was now coated in black and as Hans landed, he tapped the tip of his sword onto the surface, causing a small burst of darkness to pulse out from around him, reaching out only to the six wolves he were aiming at.
The shockwave sent those wolves flying back in six different directions with a yelp. Despite now looking pretty banged up from that one spell, those six wolves slowly got to their feet and were now eyeing the one responsible, growling. Knowing that he wouldn't be faster, Hans braced himself as the six wolves started to rush at him!

She was able to outpace them, at least partially, Willow was fast enough on her own to outrun these beasts, though while they were slower, they had no stamina to maintain, they were raw power and mana, they were made to chase and hunt. Willow couldn't even keep her breath straight at this point. "Please! I am not being the food. The meat on my body is not having enough for all of you!" She shouted, trying to reason with the wolves. Thankfully, two people, one of whom she knew, was coming to the rescue and going to let her help out with the fight!
Rewinding back to when Charles and Hans met the trio of Havenites. "Y-yeah, do you know her? Was she okay? Where did you see her?!" Asked the man, only to be cut off by Willow's shouts, powerful enough to reach them over here. And when they all heard it, Charles and Hans were already on the owl and on their way. "Chief Jakobi is going to kill us." "What do you mean us? You're the sensor that lost track of a girl because you mistook a puddle for her again!" "She's good at that trick okay? She's been getting better anyways! Bite me!"
Back to where Willow was, she was starting to slow and miss a few steps, jaws chomping at her heels. She had discarded plenty of layers of clothing, all that was left was her full poncho, fringed sarong, and her sandals.
People were moving out of the way, ducking into their homes, making sure they were out of the line of fire for the wolves, Willow was basically a lost cause, magic knights or something would save her, that was the group mentality of the common folk who were too weak to lend a hand.
When Hans made his entry and kept the beasts from approaching Willow enough, she finally stumbled and tumbled, rolling along the path between two rows of buildings, coming to a halt while her chest heaved, butt hiked up into the air. She was trying her best to catch her breath. "I... I am... I am to be giving the thanks...I am having... I am having the hand to help... I am needing my breath in lungs first." She huffed and panted, her lungs felt like they were on fire, like thousands of cactus needles had grown on their insides.

The mercenary spotted the wolves while the two were on top of the roof. Charles looked at the wolves that were creating chaos around the town. It seemed like they got started sooner than he expected, which was kind of like the pain in the ass. Looking back at Hans, Charles saw his grimoire floating beside him and something about the look of grimoire caught his attention. "A four-leaf grimoire..." A second after noticing the four-leaf grimoire on merc's grimoire. He also noticed the dark aura that surrounded him which created a dark medieval-style armor. At first, the Black Bull was convinced it was shadow magic, but he saw how the properties of the armor and how different from shadow magic, that was dark magic. He had heard of it but had never seen it before. To say the least he was surprised how someone with a four-leaf grimoire dedicated himself to be a mercenary, but not a Magic Knight.
Hans jumped down first who took down six wolves with magic. He certainly was a good mercenary, especially with his abilities it wasn't surprising they hired him to help out with the job. It was his turn now, his grimoire came alight and floated beside him. The mercenary attacked the wolves with an AoE spell and pushed them back, but they were now focused on him. This was a good time for him to attack now that the wolves were focused on Hans. The silver mage jumped down from the roof creating a silver spear on his way down that stabbed the ground, creating a surge of lightning around the wolves that were about to attack the dark mage. The lightning was strong enough to kill the six wolves as they had received damage from Hans's previous attack. Even if the mercenary seemed to be capable on his own, fighting six wolves on his own wasn't going to be easy, and the sooner they got rid of those wolves the sooner he could back to do his own things.
After the wolves were killed Charles looked back at Hans. "I'm pretty sure they sent us here for more than just a pack of wolves..." This was just a single pack of wolves if they said the number the amount of wolves has been suspicious then that means they were more than just a single pack of wolves roaming around. It was possible that the commotion from the more recent battle will attack the rest of them. A moment later he heard a familiar voice with a unique accent it was hard to forget. It was similar to the guys he encountered before. "Willow is that you?" He asked trying to confirm if it was who he believed it was.
Name of Spell: Electric Silver Spear Elemental Type: Silver with Lightning Oddity Rank & Spell Type: Junior | Attack Creation | AoE Range & Speed: 25 meters | 10 m/s | 10 meters Mana Cost: 10 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Wounding Attack: SPOILER: Click to show Description: Charles creates an electric silver lance, which he can throw. When the lance is thrown and makes contact with the grown. The lance shocks the ground making a temporary field of lightning which lasts a few seconds in an area of 10 meters, dealing junior damage. It also deals junior damage if directly hit by the spear.
Hans braced himself. The six wolves he previously attacked were gunning for the merc despite the damages they have taken. The man wasn't surprised by this since wolves were known to be stubborn and vicious, especially while working in their packs. Fortunately, Hans would be prepared for this thanks to his armor of darkness. It should protect him from the assault, but if things get too hairy, then he will just set off this armors secondary effect...
But it seems like the dark mage wouldn't have to lift another finger on them...
From the corner of his eyes, Hans watched the silver mage toss a spear made of his element onto the ground. At first, the merc was kind of confused since it didn't look like he was aiming for any of the wolves, but then lightning surged from the spell, shocking and taking down each of those beasts. "Huh." Silver magic...that could also conjure lightning? This was the first time Hans has witnessed something like this. Did this magic knight have two elements...or does his silver magic work differently from others?
"Yeah..." Hans nodded at the magic knight before turning his head to look around. He could've swore that there were more than just those six chasing after the girl. It was about eighteen of them which would be reduced to twelve with these six taken down...but where did they go? He'd expected them to either still be chasing the purple haired one or have their attentions on the two mages that just took down some of their own. "Where did they..." Before Hans could finish, he heard the silver mage speaking to the girl, Willow he called her. Seems that these two do know each other, but that wasn't his concern.
It was then that growling could be heard once again, this time coming from all around.
With eyes a bit widened, Hans looked around and noticed that the remaining twelve wolves were now surrounding the three mages. "So coordinated..." Hans muttered as he tightened the grip on his sword, his armor still around him.
The wolves slowly walked up to the three, remaining cautious and keeping their eyes on their prey. Suddenly, they rushed and one of them tried pouncing on Hans who retaliated with a well timed upward slash to its face, causing it to wince and drop to the ground. The merc then kicked it away, and as he did, another wolf latched its jaws onto Hans' arm which fortunately was protected by the armor! Another wolf also tried to charge the merc but before it could, Hans' grimoire glowed, summoning two sinister looking skulls with dark auras, one aimed at the wolf on his arm and the other appearing in front of the rushing wolf. Both skulls opened their mouths simultaneously, and fired a beam of darkness, engulfing both wolves, and sending them flying back!
Hopefully, the others were doing well on their end.
Name of Spell: Darkness Magic: Burst Elemental Type: Dark Rank & Spell Type: Junior - Attack Creation Range & Speed: 23 meters - 10 m/s Mana Cost: 10 (Initial) - 5 (Sustain) Stats Effected: +4 Power (Battle Knight) Applicable Perks: Battle Knight/Quick Shot/Skilled Sniper Description: Landing on the correct page of their grimoire the user extends their palm out and conjures a dark skull around anywhere within a twenty-three meter radius. They then clench their hand, causing the mouth of the skull to open, releasing a wave of darkness that is four feet in width and height, dealing blunt damage to those hit by it and knocking them back two meters (an additional five meters added every ten power gained). The user can conjure an additional skull to use against another target(s) or the same one every ten control gained.

Oh, it was Willow alright. The moment that Charles spoke to her she pepped right up, "Sir Charles! And the company! It is good to be seeing you again!" She sure caught her breath fast, jumping to her feet and lunging for a quick embrace with her friend who had helped pay for some food for her in the past. She was eager to get some help as well, especially with the number of wolves starting to circle in and surround them.
Taking a moment to collect herself, she grasped onto the collection of scarves and other fabrics that were clinging to her body, casting them all aside in one swift flourish of the wrist, revealing the small top and shorts she had on underneath. Adorning her arms and legs were rather tribal looking sleeves. It seemed she was trying to get more into dressing like normal people from her village, but that was far from normal people of The Clover Kingdom.
With her grimoire hovering, a magic circle formed as the pages flew open, she sneered at the wolves who had been hunting her for far too long! "It is being the time now!" She gripped her right wrist and lifted both arms up overhead, before a swirl of water started to make its way around her arm, heading straight for her wrist.
"Jtuh Jtuh Xkobbqi!" And as the first wolve made a lunge for her, she shot out a flying fish-shaped jet of water, carving its way into the wolve and blowing it back, or, at least stopping it from reaching Willow completely. The second wolve made a lunge for her and clawed her across the back, causing her mana skin to crackle like the thin veil of a forcefield it was.
Tumbling over from the blow another wolve sought to make a move and leap onto her, and start biting away! Unfortunately for it, she shoved her hand to its undercarriage and let loose another watery blast from her hands, pushing the thing off. She rolled over onto her hands and knees and called out, "Being on the guard Sir Charles! They are behind!"
It was true, a majority of the pack had circled around, and sought to make a quick full pack run for him, eager to get a series of quick bites in and tear some flesh apart and make some mincemeat!
Name of Spell: Jtuh Xkobbqi (lit. "Drizzle Shot") Elemental Type: Water Rank & Spell Type: Junior | Attack Range & Speed: 25m | 10 m/s Mana Cost: 10 cast | 5 upkeep Stats Effected: +2 power Applicable Perks: Vampiric Magic, Apex Predator Description: Willow creates a pool of water from around her person, gathering it from the air and channeling it in a quick spiral from her shoulder to a whirling mass at her palm. She will then fire off a cubic meter sized jet of water. She can fire off more than one projectile with enough control, allowing her to either shoot straight or arc the shots toward the same target. This will deal junior tier damage. Control needed per extra projectile: 10

The silver spell took effect and managed to rid of the wolves for now. For a short moment, he met up with the familiar face of a girl he met quite some time ago. Though, it didn't take long for Charles to notice Willow was wearing a Magic Knight mantle with the insignia of the Silver Eagles. "Yo Willow. So you joined the Silver Eagles, huh..." The Black Bull quickly greeted her taking notice that she was now a Magic Knight and no longer a civilian. Willow seemed to be more capable than she looked. Don't judge a group by its cover, despite the fragile appearance she managed to get into the Magic Knights.
"Yeah..." Charles nodded in agreement with the mercenary. These wolves were very well coordinated, using their numbers to encircle them and try to leave them defenseless. It didn't take long for the pack of wolves that were surrounding them to try and attack. He saw one of the wolves about to lunge towards Willow, but she swiftly defended herself shooting at the wolf with a jet of water. If that didn't happen he was ready to help out the pink-haired girl, but it didn't seem like it was going to be needed. Then again it made things easier for him.
Willow was injured by one of the wolves but managed to push it back with her spell, though her mana skin took damage. Charles considered to use another AoE spell to wipe out all of the wolves, but with Willow so close to him it was very likely she was going to get caught inside the range of the spell. Instead, he decided to maintain his silver spear in an attempt to fend off the wolves. One of the wolves suddenly lunged towards him. The Black Bull managed to react to the incoming attack. The wolf bit the center of the silver spear. His teeth looking it could very well inflict some serious damage if he wasn't careful. While he was locked into such position Charles used his knee to hit the wolf, which was successful but wasn't enough to take wolf down. Another wolf lunged at him while that was happening since the silver mage had a spear he managed to take out the wolf before it almost got him. He made sure to deactivate the lightning properties from his spell in order to not injure Willow further after her mana skin was damaged by one wolf. The spear stabbed the wolf's neck and killed it leaving the wolf on the ground. The other wolf he previously pushed back by attacking him with knee attempted to attack him while he was distracted. "Silver Wave." He said as the wolf was coming towards him again, a single silver spike was directed towards the wolf and killed it. Two more down, but they were still plenty of wolves. It seemed like this will be a lot harder than he thought it was going to be. He just hopes it's worth the payment.

Out of the remaining twelve wolves, seven of them appeared to be taken care of, leaving only five! Even though their numbers have dwindled in such a short time, the remaining beasts did not let up. They were still confident that they could take down the three mages.
Hans focused on a wolf that was in front of him, growling and staring the merc down. Another wolf decided to take advantage of this by attacking Hans from behind, lunging at the merc with enough force to send him face first onto the ground. Being taken off guard, Hans dropped his blade and grunted a bit. The wolf was strong, capable of dragging the dark mage by his shoulder as he tried ripping through it with its teeth. The wolf that was staring Hans down joined in as well, latching onto the man's arm and dragging him even further away from the others! These beasts were vicious, that's for sure. If it wasn't for his defense spell, Hans would be in a world of hurt!
The wolves gnawed at Hans' armor while he struggled to get them off of him! His armor was pretty durable and protecting him for now, but sooner or later, these wolves would manage to break through. Trying to think of something fast, Hans looked up, and noticed just how far he was dragged. He was a little over five meters away from the rest which gave the dark mage an idea. With an exhale out of his nose, Hans managed to lift up his free arm and clenched his fist. As soon as that action was done, the armor of darkness that once protected Hans shifted, molding into a sphere that expanded and burst out, bashing the wolves hard enough to send them flying, potentially hitting any of the other wolves if they were close enough!
With that done, the darkness around Hans faded. He then stood up and rubbed the side of his head before looking at those two wolves. Their bodies were limp, lifeless. A sigh of relief escaped the guy's lips but a short gasp would follow shortly after after realizing his sword wasn't on him! "Where did it...!?" He scanned the ground with his eyes, not realizing that it was still around the area Charles and Willow were, lying there on the ground.

Nodding to what Charles asked of her, she just smiled wide, "Y-yes! I have been joining the SIlver Eagles! Also hello! I am pleased to be meeting you! P-please to be careful!" She declared, joyous about meeting someone new, despite how much her voice was shaking from being attacked, and trying to not have a panic attack over meeting a new person.
Through everything they were doing, through all the fighting and blasting of wolves, there was the mercenary, the new guy among them, that was being swarmed while his armor spell was harmlessly assailed. In a burst of darkness, everything was blown away, leaving a little to tend to the remainder of the fight.
Thankfully the numbers were whittled down enough that they were able to get some breathing room. With one last wolf trying to make a last-ditch effort out of them for what it had done to its pack, it was met with a flurry of water spells blasted into its face, and sending it flying away. Willow just stood there, grimoire hovering behind her while the magic circle had formed behind her back. Letting loose a volley of her Drizzle Shot, she sent it packing, and it fell over to the ground.
After a moment of the battle finishing, Willow took a moment to breathe in calmly, before letting out a shrill scream, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! THAT WAS SO SCARY! THANK YOU BOTH FOR COMING TO SAVE ME!" She cried out while flailing her arms. What was it that got Willow into this situation anyway?!
"I had snuck off, a desire to be drawing on my mind. I had excused myself from my bodyguards, and then made my way into the forest. I found a place to be of the painting with my coffee grounds. But the smell of them must have been attracting the wolves, I'm so sorry!"

"Congrats then." Charles nodded back slightly smiling, despite her personality she seemed to be skilled in terms of magical ability a clear example was how she managed to defeat several of the wolves that previously attacked the group. At least her anxiety didn't control her ability to shoot spells, the Black Bull was glad that he didn't have to end up doing something to avoid her getting hurt.
As soon as Willow finished off the remaining wolf and screamed thanking the two guys that just saved her even though there was pretty much to get rid of the wolves around the town. So you could say they killed two birds in one shot, they saved Willow and got rid of the wolves. "Eh, no problem. You might want to go check on the guys that were apparently looking for you they seemed worried." He referred to the men that we're searching for her before all of this started.
"Anyway, I should get going. It was nice seeing you again after a while." The silver mage yawned and then looked over at the mercenary, Hans. "For a mercenary, you handle yourself better than I thought, anyway. I think you should consider joining the Magic Knights at some point... We need more people like you and less arrogant idiots." He spoke bluntly, if anything that mercenary had the ability to become a much better Magic Knight than him or any other he previously met, at least he seemed to get the job done, his magical abilities weren't surprising to him at all after he found out he had a four-leaf grimoire.
With the wolves now killed and the job is done. There was no point in staying, he wanted to get this over with as soon as possible and so Charles left to place waving at the two mages. He made sure to get his payment before heading back to the base to sleep.
It appears that the dark explosion released from Hans' spell had hit more than just those two wolves. The rest of the wolves that were still staying were also in radius of the blast, and met the same fate as the two beasts that previously assaulted the merc. All except for one, but that one was taken care of by that odd water mage.
With all the wolves dealt with, Hans let out a sigh of relief, and got up from the ground. He made his way back to the two where he then noticed his sword lying on the ground. Another satisfied sighed escape the man's lips. With how much that sword means to Hans, he would never be able to forgive himself if anything bad happened to it. As the merc picked up his blade, girl, Willow he believed she was called had started to yell, making the man nearly drop his sword. "Hu-" Looking over, Hans was expecting to see another wolf or something else, but nope. It was just the water mage....being thankful?
The girl was now talking about how she ended up in this predicament in the first place. Hans just listened quietly, looking a bit puzzled at her. Bodyguards? She must've been referring to those men he and Charles ran into earlier, but why did she have bodyguards? Perhaps she's a noble? She is in a squad that tends to have a lot of nobles so it's possible, but it didn't really matter to the dark mage. The odd one was safe now and the wolves slain. "It's no problem." The man claimed as he took a small cloth out of his pocket and began to rub the blood off of the blade of his sword. "It rounded all the wolves up in one spot...so that was helpful." He added.
The silver mage was now speaking to Hans, complimenting how the dark mage handled himself out there...and then he suggested something to the merc, something that he has heard quite a few times by now. Exhaling out his nose, the man slid his sword back into its sheathe before placing the cloth neatly back in his pocket. "Thanks...but not interested." There were many reasons why the man wasn't looking to be a Magic Knight...and none of them was about simply being not interested...
With that, Hans was just about to leave, but then stopped to look back at the silver mage. "You're pretty strong too." He then glanced over to the water mage. "As are you." With a nod, the guy was off, not planning to stick around since he...honestly isn't the best with being social. Still, he couldn't ignore how strong those two Magic Knights are.
The power and will to protect others...
He wouldn't mind having to come across either of them again, but for now, there's yul that needs to be collected.
