[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] Genesis shielded her eyes from the harsh rays of the sun, sweat rolling down her forehead and dripping off from her chin. She had been practicing circulating her ki earlier that morning, followed by a light run, her midday meal, and now she was on to more physical exercises. Her lithe form arched as she stretched upwards, hands clasped together above her heads. Then slowly, oh so slowly, bent herself to the left, as close to the ground as she could, then slowly back up. Then on to the right side. And repeat. She breathed in deeply, letting the fresh oxygen circulate into her core.
[break][break] It was a clear and bright day, and the warmth of the sun felt good on her skin. She had always been an outdoors girl, and it felt good to be in the great outdoors, all by herself - and her shadows. This particular spot was somewhat of a special place for her. It was a little woodsy area outside of Kiten, and ever since she was young, she would often wander outside the town. She had discovered this secluded place, and to her knowledge, she was the only regular visitor there. Over time, she has grown to love this particular area, and after spending years here by herself, has familiarized herself with every tree and rock. In many ways, it became her place of refuge, her sacred space.
[break][break] Once she felt she had been sufficiently loosened up, the red-haired woman ran straight towards a nearby tree. It looked like she was running straight into it, but right before she did, she kicked herself up and did a flip, landing on her feet. At least, that was her plan. Her angle was not quite right, and her landing was wobbly. Undeterred, she went back to her starting place, and tried again, this time a little bit faster and bending herself even more.
[break][break] Thump! This time, it was a solid landing, and a big smile crossed the female’s face. "Yes!" She pumped a fist in the air. Just a few more times until it’s perfect... She was somewhat of a perfectionist, at least when it came to herself and her skills. If there was something she could improve upon, she would work at it until it was better. After all, there was no one else who could do it for her. She was her own greatest enemy, but also her best comrade. There was no one she could rely on more than her own skills, hence her obsession with honing her physical abilities.
[break][break] Jogging back, she repeated her earlier actions. She even tried starting in different positions, and was very satisfied with herself when her attempts were successful. All in all, she was pleased with the day’s progress. However, unbeknownst to her, the young woman was not alone in her sacred space... [break][break]

It had been a few days since Elias had come back to the black bull base after his three month long undercover mission. There really wasn't much for the blue haired mage to as of late. The captain forced him to take a few weeks off stating something about how after being gone that long the wraith mage need to take some time off. It was boring up it was the captains orders so there wasn't much Elias could do about it. So most of his time now was spent training his physical body and magic. However today was a little different sure he still did his training for the day but he also figured he'd get out of the base for a bit and the place he picked was Kiten to see if he could find any trouble to deal with. Sadly he only saw some kid stealing some food and while his duty as a magic knight stated he was suppose to stop thing like that he didn't after all it didn't mess with the balance of the world. Seeing as there wasn't much to do in the town Elias would make his way into the forest close to the town. He wasn't sure what he even planned to do but after a while of walking he would stop next to a tree. He figured he could always take a nap and would climb the three finding a spot he could lean on without falling out while asleep. However unknown to him was the fact he wasn't alone. He would soon find out as he heard the sound of something the tree he was in at first he figured it was just some animal but after a while of the noise he would open his crimson eyes looking down spotting a red haired women doing flips off his tree letting out a sigh he would speak up. "What the hell I was trying to sleep up here but I guess that's not going to happen." Eilas would then stand up stretching a bit before jumping out of the tree landing on the ground.
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] Even though she was usually absorbed and engrossed when in training, Genesis was usually still attentive to her surroundings. That was why she almost jumped out of her skin when she heard a voice coming from above her. Immediately she leapt back and grabbed onto her shadows by force of habit. Feeling the familiar grip of her blades grounded her, and she stood poised to strike at whoever the enemy was. [break][break]
A young man had jumped down from the tree, and Genesis had lightly leaped back, keeping a safe distance between them. How did I not notice? Her hands gripped on to her knives, and clear grey eyes appraised him critically. Today, her eyes looked almost blue, although they could shift to various shades of azure and emerald depending on the lighting. She already knew where she messed up. During those flips, she had kept her eyes closed, depending too much on her balance. If only she had kept them open, she would have surely seen the figure on top of the tree. [break][break]
The shadow mage stared critically at the intruder. Judging by what he said before he came down from his hiding place, the latter did not seem to be too happy. Well, neither was she. That would make the two of them. She let the silence grow, weighing her options. However, common courtesy and mannerisms overcame her wariness, and bid her to say something at least. [break][break]
“Who are you?” Her eyebrows furrowed, marking her displeasure. “What are you doing in my—” and bit her tongue. She did not own the place. It was as much her space as anyone else’s space. After all, anyone could easily come and go as they wished. However, that did not ease her disgruntlement at the unknown factor within ‘her’ territory. She may not own any place as her own, but she knew the place well, and the shadows of the place knew her. Surely that must mean something. [break][break]
With a sigh, the red-haired femme relaxed her stance and flipped her blades downwards, indicating her non-threatening intentions. However, she still held onto her knives - those were the only things in the world she completely trusted in. “How long have you been up there?”

As the black bull mage jumped out of the tree the red haired woman would jump back herself. It made sense survival instincts and what not. However as she grabbed her blades the blue haired mage would just watch her carefully. "Man why is it every time I meet a new person out in the wilds they want to either rob, kill me or do both." Luckily the women didn't actually attack which was a good thing for the both of them. Of course he hadn't let his guard down just because she hadn't attacked him just yet. She would then break her silence by asking a simple set of questions well question and half. "The name is Elias Von Schurke don't try to hard to say the last part. I guess the most important thing here is that I'm a magic knight. I also didn't realize this was your place ya know with it being a whole forest and all." Perhaps sarcasm wasn't the best thing to use at the moment but if it came down to it and she attacked him Elias would most likely be able to restrain her. As she loosened her grip on her blade the black bull mage would let his guard down just a little which hopefully wouldn't become a mistake. "I'm not sure how long has past since I got here but no more than three hours. You also never gave your name."
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] Genesis eyed the man warily. At least he did not try to attack at the sight of her blades, she could give him that. She could not tell what element the stranger possessed or rank he had, but she was sure she would find out soon enough. But for her, it was always about protecting herself. After all, the world she knew was cruel and unmerciful, it had no spot for the soft-hearted and weak. “It’s called the wilds for a reason,” she quipped, raising an eyebrow. They were in a free-for-all area, after all. It was every person for themselves. She also thought it was an interesting choice of words that the intruder had used. “Where’s the third option? Self-defense?” [break][break]
Ah, so he had caught on to her blunder. “And I didn’t know it is the latest style to go about sleeping in trees.” She shot back, although amusement had slowly crept up in her tone. If he was going to be sarcastic, that was perfectly fine. In fact, it made him easier to deal with. She could never respond properly to all those perfumed flattery and veiled slanders—direct compliments and straight out insults worked much better with her. [break][break]
The shadow mage wondered why he was there in the first place. Luckily for her, he explained it. She bobbed her head once, acknowledging his introduction.“Three hours, huh?” Well, she did not get there until the past hour, so he was there first. Curious how she did not even pick up a scent of his presence, though. Did he somehow mask it? Perhaps he was a strong magic user...or one who possessed no magic at all. Stranger things have happened, after all. [break][break]
“Gen. No affiliation with anyone.” The last part she said a little proudly. She worked only for herself, and was under no one’s authority besides the law. However, she had heard a lot about the Magic Knights, and a small part of her was intrigued by their system. But for now, she was only interested in honing her own skills and becoming stronger. Seeing as he was not making a move on her or anything, she relaxed her stance, and put her blades away. “Are you a nobility or something?” His name had implied something like it, although she could not be sure.
Elias would listen as the red haired women spoke again making a comment about how she didn't know that sleeping in trees was in style. The blue haired mage would let out a fake gasp. "Oh so you mean to tell me this isn't a town who would have guessed? Damn I guess I really fucked up this time." It seemed that the women also took note of his first comment and would even go so far as ask a question about it. "Well they normally attack me first so it's not really self defense for them. I only fight those who need to be dealt with. Now if you were talking about me seeing as how I'm still standing here I'd say it's safe to say I use self dense." As the shadow mage spoke about how she was unaware that sleeping in trees was in style Elias would let out a small laugh. "Well you got me there it's not but then again I don't follow the latest trends it seems you don't as well seeing as how doing flips of random tree's isn't as well." The black bull mage would then look up at the sky as Genesis gave her name back stating she was just a normal citizen before asking the question everyone always asked if he was a noble. "Something like that you see I grew up on the streets when I was younger. However in my teen years I was adopted into Von Schurke family making me a noble.
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] Genesis was tempted to roll her eyes, but that would not have been polite. “Yup you did,” she responded, confirming what he said about it not being a town. Though her tone was serious, a hint of amusement shone through her eyes. At least this guy was not one who got offended easily, meaning she could be more generous with her sarcasm. Although she did raise an eyebrow at his poking fun at her earlier actions. [break][break] “If you must know, flipping off trees is the latest craze,” she waved a dismissive hand in the air. “I just happen to implement some personal training into that.” If anything, she took pride in her routines, religiously following through them just as her old martial arts teacher had taught her. [break][break] Nodding in acknowledgment at the man’s words, the young woman pursed her lips. Adopted into nobility, huh? That was something uncommon. What was also uncommon was the suspicious rustles beside her. The noises were coming from the thick bushes on her right side. Immediately, all her senses kicked in. With a swift movement, she was beside the tree she had been training on earlier, the same one that the man had been sleeping in. Grabbing hold off the lowest branch, the redhead swung herself up onto the tree. Keeping one foot grounded against the joint of the trunk and the other balanced on the branch, the red-haired female leaned against the trunk of the tree. [break][break] Just like she predicted, two creatures bounded out of the bushes, their eyes becoming crazed upon seeing the two mages. There has been an abundance of mana beasts appearing, and she was starting to get used to fighting them in abnormal situations. Clear grey-blue eyes stared down at her companion still down on the ground, a small smirk on her face. She was not abandoning him to fight alone against those mana beasts, but she did want to see how he would react to them. Better yet, how he would fight against them. She would jump in to help if anything serious did happen, but she doubted that would happen. Males had their egos, after all, and she would let that play out first. [break][break] The young woman bent down to a little bow, with an arm outstretched in mock politeness. “After you, good sir.”

As the red haired mage spoke about how flipping of trees was actually a new trend the black bull mage would let out a sigh. "It seems I've really have been gone for to long." Elias didn't mind that the women was using sarcasm in fact it made talking with her easier as he wasn't really a fan of talking with people in the first place. The blue haired mage was surprised to hear that Genesis was actually out here to train her physical body. It was pretty uncommon as most mages used there magic instead of physical strength that being said there was more than a few mages that came to mind when he thought it about most of which he never met himself. oh so it was training? Interesting but I prefer to train in the morning it makes waking up easier." As Eilas heared the noise coming from the bushes however unlike the red haired beauty he would get off the ground as the two mana beast entered the area. As she spoke about letting him fight first the black bull mage would let out a sigh. "Well you are the one with the weapon but very well." With that the blue haired mage would take off the top part of his suit leaving his bear chest showing his muscles which proved that he in fact didn't skip out on physical training. The shadow mage would also be able to notice the red tattoo on the left side of his body. He would then throw the vest and shirt to the women in the tree. [break][break] "Hold on to those I'd rather not have them get ruined." As the first beast ran at him the black bull mage he would roll out of the way of the attack but he wouldn't pull out his grimoire instead he would move forward punching the beast in the side as it let out a cry of pain. The beast would then get up on it's hind legs to claw the mage would would duck under the attack before tackling the beast to the ground punching it two more time before getting a hold of it's neck snapping it before standing back up face the second beast that was surely ready to attack him unless it had already been taken out by the shadow mage.
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] “Why train in the morning if you could train all day?” She threw the jab back at him. In fact, she had been training her ki that morning, and she had made some personal break-throughs. “And apparently you didn’t train this morning...” she pointed out, “...otherwise you’d be awake—which you aren’t.” By this time, she had already clambered up in the tree and was waiting to see what he would do. [break][break] What she certainly did not expect was for him to take off his vest and shirt. “Men...” She muttered, though she would be lying if she did not enjoy the view. If anything, it showed that he was fit and did not skimp when it came to physical training. She also noticed the red tattoos on his side. Interesting, as she also had some by her side. Not that she was about to strip and show him that, of course. [break][break] “Get your own maid! She shouted down at him. Nonetheless, she draped the said clothes on a nearby branch. It would not be falling down anytime soon, not unless the mana beasts brought the tree down. In that case, she would not be responsible for his precious clothes getting dirty or ruined. [break][break] She watched as the man used his brute strength to take care of the first mana beast. He was strong, she had to give him that. However, there was still the second mana beast, which was just as fierce as the first. A sigh left her ruby lips. As much as she would like to watch, she was unwilling to not be part of the action as well. [break][break] Couteaux. Nearby shadows were sucked into her hands and formed into a pair of knives. As soon as the mana beast came within range, the redhead threw a blade at the creature, aiming for its head. Unfortunately, it sank into its neck instead. The beast reared and let out a bellowing noise. “Oops.” Her tone was anything but apologetic, though. She walked over to the edge of the branch until she was right above the writhing creature, and dropped straight down on its back. [break][break] Her left hand still held her other weapon, and she buried it into the spot right between its eyes. Though her legs were wrapped securely around the beast’s sides, she was jostled up and down like a person on top of a wild ox. She had to grab on to where her previous knife had landed to keep her hold on the bucking animal. It was a few seconds before the light finally died from the inhuman eyes and the wild ride stopped. [break][break] The shadow mage swung her legs off the creature and back down to the ground, brushing the dust from her clothes. “That—” she tilted her head towards the lifeless form behind her, “—was because I felt pity for you.”

Eilas would let out a small sigh at the first to statements the red haired mage made. She was doing a lot of assuming it seemed. "It's simple I can't train all day I'm a magic knight I get sent on missions almost everyday. How am I suppose to spend all day training when I get sent on a mission? As for the second part I did in fact train this morning there are such things as naps ya know." As the black bull mage threw genesis his mantle she would yell for him to get his own maid causing the blue haired man to let out a small laugh. "You mean to tell me you aren't a maid oh no that means I'll never get to see you in one of those cute maid outfits. I think I might just die." This was of course pure sarcasm which based on how much the shadow mage used it he figured she'd be able to tell as much it would have been a shame if the women didn't. He was able to take the mana beast out so easily he found the fight to be boring and would turn his focus to the second mana beast. However it seemed the shadow mage wished to join the fight and would take out the second mana beast just as easy as Elias did the first even if it was a little messy. As she was speaking about how she felt pity for the mana beast the black bull mage would put his suit back on before speaking in a cold tone. I don't pity beast who don't know there place in the world. He would then pull out his own grimoire not to cast a spell but instead to take the bodies of the two mana beast. As he opened his book his dark colored mana would flow out of it wrapping around the two beast before taking them into his grimoire.
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] A Magic Knight, hmm? Well, that certainly explained a little bit of his brash and arrogant attitude. Not to say that all of them were like him—she had met a few that were fairly decent people and admirable fighters—but how could she have known? Wherever his mantle was before, he did not throw it to her until the last second before the fight. Did he wear it underneath his shirt? She could not understand that for the life of her. As for his sarcastic comment about her dressing up in a maid outfit, the redhead rolled her eyes. [break][break] “Maybe I will, just to see you die.” She had shot back. At least he did not say that he wanted her as his maid. If he did, she would have said some other very choice words and would probably have launched a knife at him. His haughty air was getting under her skin, though. Confidence was one thing. Arrogance was another. Right now, she could not tell exactly what he was getting at. Was he really getting enjoyment out of toying with her? [break][break] “À tout seigneur tout honneur.” She murmured to the mana beast. Human or animal, all life was to be respected and properly sent off. After the fight, she turned to see him taking the bodies of the mana beasts into his grimoire. Interesting. She had never seen that before. Must be some sort of dark magic, using deceased souls as vessels for spells. Oddly enough, that did not bother her. A shadow mage was well acquainted with the dark, after all. [break][break] The redhead had noticed the four-leaf sigil on his grimoire, but since she had been meeting other mages with similarly ranked grimoires, it had proved that they were not necessarily stronger in any way. They still had their own weaknesses, despite their initial power. She would enjoy finding out what this mage’s weakness was. “Ah, so you’re calling me a beast then.” She said, crossing her arms and giving him a look. Whether she had actually stepped out of her place was unknown to her, but she rather fancied pushing him. She leaned in closer for a brief moment. “So after you kill me, I’m gonna become one of your spells, hmm? Lucky me.”

As the red haired mage made her last comment Elias would simply chose to ignore it as he was getting tried of there little battle of words. Instead he would go about fixing his suit to make it look just right. The words Genesis said did go unnoticed by the blue haired mage even if he didn't really know what they meant. A part of him wanted to ask but his more rational side kept it check. Then of course she just had to ask if he was calling her a beast. No I wasn't calling you a beast but to answer your question aren't we all beast? We lie, cheat, betray murder, steal. One could even say we are more of a beast than the monsters we kill after all they only fight out of survival. So if you are asking if you yourself are a beast than yes. The black bull mage didn't really care if he offended the women after all she asked the question and him simply answered it. She would then take a step forward asking a question about his magic it was the same reaction most had to his magic. Elias would just take a step back letting out a sigh. You people are all the same. Yes my magic uses the bodies of those dead but that doesn't mean I go around killing people for there bodies as that would ruin the balance of things.
[attr="class","hallowedbreezes-section"] [break] It seemed like he had plenty of wit and sarcasm to match, and it was delightful sparring with him. Genesis allowed the smirk she had been holding back to show through now. It seemed like she had successfully gotten under his skin. It was her little payback for intruding in ‘her’ space, though only she would be the one gaining pleasure from the experience. [break][break] “Of course we’re all the same. You just said so yourself that we’re all beasts.” She responded smoothly, though the glint in her eyes shone dangerously. He had stepped back when she stepped forwards, leading her to raise an amused eyebrow. “Don’t tell me you’re uncomfortable around a normal citizen, hmm? And a poor lass, no less?” The things she listed were all certainly true, and would much rather others to see her as weak so they could underestimate her. [break][break] Nonetheless, as much as she would like taunting him more, the young woman figured it was a good time to stop before things escalated out of her control. Against him, there was no way she could win in regards to sheer physical and magic power. However, it had been quite an experience seeing how mere words could be used to rile men up. It could come in handy someday. It certainly has today. [break][break] “Well, it was fun meeting and fighting with you.” She brushed herself off and moved to leave. Then, feeling a surge of boldness, the redhead stopped and turned slightly to throw him a wink. “See ya around, Elias.” And there she would walk out from the shelter of the trees, out into the sunlight, and back into town. Whether she would meet the wraith mage again would be up to Fate, but she would be better prepared next time, both in magic and in wits.
