The summer air warmed Qiao’s skin as he glanced around. Members of the Shēngxiào family were present everywhere he saw relatives he knew and a lot more he did not. Qiao was happy to be on a family outing that included all the branches. The family was having a Qixi festival. It was not mandatory for people to attend but what single person in the family could not wish for a bit more luck. The festival was being held in the Forsaken region to avoid the annoying nobles in the capital that despised outsider traditions. Some members were around keeping peace by keeping monsters or bandits away. Some were helping to set up, while even a few members were already eating the food before it finished cooking. The family would build a large five meter bridge and adorn it with flowers. Since it all had to be done with transformation magic or no magic at all. It made the members of the family like Qiao only able to work with their hands. He refused to use his rat claws in public.

“Brother Qiao would you mind?” A young member of the rat branch held a basket of flowers. She was asking Qiao to weave the flowers in crowns for the women present. "Sure" He took the flowers with a ginger smile before sitting in the grass. The sun was high as it beamed on the meadow. To the west was a forest, a small stream to the east, and Clover to the north.
Spring was finally over and now the summer was taking its chance to warm the hearts of the citizenry, Alma liked summer for one reason, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom and were perfect to sit under to read a book and have a picnic. It wasn't like he had ever done that with anyone outside of his family but still, it was a peaceful and relaxing pass time to gather one's thoughts and reflect on past actions and the consequences that came from them. Alma had missed the last few Qixi festivals due to health or other things that required his attention so was quite glad that he was healthy and nothing needed his attention this time around as he rather enjoyed the interactions between family members... well... when he wasn't being used as a diplomat to solve family squabbles. He sighed a little knowing that was part of the parcel however given the branch he was born to and so didn't fight his duties although he did believe it would be nice if they could actually keep the goat branch out of it as they didn't need to know everyone's dirty laundry or be mediators on simple matters that even a toddler could sort for themselves.
Alma had very little issue with being in the forsaken realm as he had been there quite a few times over the years, in fact, he had found a wonderful place to meditate that had a lake and the cherry blossom trees that he so adored, the issue was, in this case, was that he had no idea why a family gathering would happen here and not within one of the branches estates or within the common realm itself, but that was for the stars to decide and so though wanted to question it openly he remained quiet on the matter. As he arrived he saw a few faces he knew for certain, some he was acquainted with and a few he didn't recognise at all which wasn't all that surprising as he had been out of touch with people due to one thing or another; in fact, this was the first time he would be even able to interact with his own parents in over a year since he went to meditate and pray for guidance to become a fully-fledged adult. It had only taken him an additional three years to gain his grimoire due to bad health and not being seen as ready to take on an active role within the family. Sure, he was sick when he went to get his grimoire and when he went for his adulthood test, he sure as hell wasn't one hundred percent when he went and became a member of the Crimson Lion squad but he managed that somehow.
Alma himself was smiling as he started to thread flowers into woven baskets, true it wasn't traditional to do this but he knew that the young of the family did get presents and liked to pick flowers to take home for pressing and other things depending on their interests so this allowed him to give the girls something fancy to take home with them that gave them new memories. The entire time he just sat there quietly humming a lullaby to himself as if the rest of the world around him didn't exist, he was in a world all his own and really right now that's all he needed as he thought about the path he had taken and what it meant for him. His branch had some of the best healers and diplomats in the family yet instead of heading to a squad that would have helped him hone his own skills he had decided to go to a squad that was known for their ferocity in battle and for never giving up regardless of how bad the situation looked. He sighed as he stopped threading the flowers wondering if he had really done the right thing "Life and death, joy and pain come to all, it is merely my task to keep it in balance the best I can for those I can." he reminded himself before returning to his task once more as he began to sing softly to himself.

It seemed like time had gone by really fast as today was the Qixi Festival. He didn’t think he would find himself going to these, but he got to see a bunch of people from the family there. It wasn’t just that, but the food that came from his family was some of the best things he could eat in his life. That was the true reason that he was pulled into these. There was also the fact that it was within the Forsaken Region, a place that was vast and beautiful. He wished he could have brought Bryn here, but he knew that people within the family would be angry as she was not part of the family. His travel through the Forsaken Region wasn’t bad as he had come from a dungeon not too far from here.
The young man had healed himself quite well as he rested in a nearby village. The fights he had endured in that dungeon, allowed him to see a bigger picture. The Shengxiao knew that he could get stronger, but all he had to do was continue his training. The short lad could see a bunch of people coming into his line of sight, and his eyes would widen when he could see how big it was this year. Their family had kept growing and honestly, it was beautiful. Still, he didn’t know hardly anybody here, and it was because he and his family were always traveling. They really didn’t socialize much with the people in the family unless it was within the branch. Hakyoku’s stomach would growl as he was pacing closer to the large festival in front of him.
While he got closer, he could hear chattering all over the place and a smile would appear on his face. The one thing he loved about his family was that they stood together no matter what they did in their life. It was beautiful and as long as they didn’t betray each other, then nobody would come after them. His nose twitched as a beautiful scent would appear near him. He would walk over to the stand, but before he could get to it, someone would stop right in front of him. Well, it was two people, and they looked upset with him.
“Hakyoku you don’t know how to contact us? We have been worried about you for quite some time. I know we are always in the move, but at least try and come in contact with us.” He said to the young man.
“Sorry pops. I didn’t think it would be bad to go off on my own. I have been training, I wish I could show just how strong I’ve become.” He said to his father.
His mother would hug her son tightly, and Hakyoku would grind his teeth together as he could feel the pain from the last fight he was in.
“Mom not so tight. I’m still recovering from my last dungeon fight.” He said to her.
She would stop hugging him and would look at him with a concerned look on her face.
“You should be careful Hakyoku. You are a lead candidate for the Star status in our branch. Anyways we will leave you alone, but please come see us before you make your leave.” She said to him with a smile on his face.
Hakyoku heard this and he would nod to his mother before giving her a kiss on her forehead and then bowed to both of them. He would walk away from them as he made his way to the food stand, and this time there wasn’t anybody stopping him. The young man would grab what he wanted to eat and he would take a nice bite out of it as he closed his eyes and moaned a bit.
“Best damn food to eat throughout the entire kingdom.” He said this as he would walk over to a bench and he would sit on top instead of the seat.
The beast mage would just eat his food patiently as he was trying to savior it before going off and getting more.

Raviel would walk around at a slow pace, his tabi boots barely making any sound as per usual. Well...for a family reunion it sure looked busy. A lot of faces he did not know yet supposedly each one of them was a blood relative of some sorts. It was hard to believe. Some of the people around were completely different looking from the blond haired vanilla skinned lithe boy he was. Some others clearly hailed from other far away places.
He was slightly nervous, being there alone. His parents had so much stuff to go through back home they would have to skip this meeting. That pretty much meant he would need to keep his family honour up all on his own.
Still though. He was a Silver Eagle. That meant that the best way for him to do so would be by ensuring others would have a good time. So there he was, patrolling around all lost in his own thoughts, curiously leaning in to observe the occasional stand that piqued his curiosity.

Qixi festival. That was what Chisanaa was told to attend for the Shengxiao family it was apparently some sort of gathering of all the family to celebrate a legend about some romantic story. From what he could understand about the festival it was basically a way to make confessions and come together. Chisana wasn’t particularly interested in that part of the festival but was vastly excited to see who all would show up. In his short time being officially apart of the family he had only met a handful of relatives. Like Xiulan, Pangu and Qiao, so this would be quite a good chance to meet some new members or even just hang out and see some of the older ones. Of course not only were the regular members there but so were the stars of the family, the ones who lead their branch in their activities and who most members had some inkling of respect for. Chisana always had a interest in learning more about them but they seemed like hills compared to the mountains he had been interacting with on a daily basis since he joined the Black Bulls.
Arriving at the festival which was being held in the Forsaken Region he noticed that there was quite a few people already here and the building of the symbolic bridge had begun, to his surprise the first person he recognized was his relative Qiao who belonged to the Rat branch of the family who was being tasked with dealing with the flowers. Deciding that it was best to just go bother the nearest person he actually knew Chisana made his way over to the Older mage, “ Hey cousin, long time no see.” Chisana would say with a smile on his face, the last time he had seen Qiao would be when they happened to meet up to deal with the dungeon called the Eldritch House. It had been quite a fun time for the young Shengxiao.
