Faust looked a tad bit different than usual, aside from a few splatters of mud and grime on him and his clothing, the Golden Dawn knight had his Magic Knight cloak nowhere to be found in his possession. He stood there in a pigsty found out in the open field not far from from the village, fenced together with dozen or so pigs and a bucket in hand.
"Listen here kid." Faust's bearded senior hooked an arm to his shoulder, inching closer to the young magic knight as if to whisper something important. "You hafta do this job without the cloak on alright? N- not that it's unofficial business or anything..." The old man chuckled wearily as he rubbed the back of his own head. "Just... I don't want to tarnish the cloak with stains, yes, yes that's it!" Yet again, the bearded senior chuckled, only this time with more vigor than he did before. "Well, I'll leave it to ya, boy." He said and took his leave. "Why do I have to lose my bet..." The bearded knight grunted and mumbled shortly after a bit of distance between him and Faust had already been made.
For some time now, Faust had been tasked with feeding swine, a job entrusted to him by one of his seniors which he took on without any qualms. He scooped up a handful of their mushy food from the metal bucket which he held, with his hand filled, he then dumped what he had scooped up to their feeding box. "Workin' hard boy!? Kakaka!" The farmer waved at Faust who stood at the other side of the fence. "Dum' ol' geezer lost our bet, no wonder he had no problem when I told him what I want... he just passed it on to his underlin'! Kakakaka!" The farmer then waved him goodbye, still chuckling as he went off towards the town.
Faust sighed as he took another handful of pig food. He couldn't be bothered really, if he's asked to do it he had no other choice than to follow. Was he that gullible to take on something too unbecoming of him? No, he knew well that what he did was unofficial business by his senior, yet still, he couldn't dare himself to decline. It reminded him of his parents, dictating him with how he should act, what he should say, and where he should be. He couldn't dare himself to disobey those of higher in power. As such, his seniors more than often abused his willingness to comply, often passing personal business onto him. It kept him from ever dealing with any actual threat as he was busy making coffee, or saving kittens from rather tall trees. Nevertheless, it didn't bother him one bit, after all, it was his decision to agree upon the tasks he took hence he had no right to complain at all.
Yet again, he dumped another handful of the gooey, mushy foodstuff on the pigsty's food box which the pigs were more than happy to consume.

Before she was a mage, she was a golem researcher. Before she was a golem researcher, she was a citizen of the Clover Kingdom. Nothing anyone could do or say would ever change that. While she didn't have much faith in her own abilities, that never once caused Verena to simply give up. Instead, she continued down the path that she walked. Not for her own sake, but rather for the sake of future golem work. She had no faith in her ability to fight, but she was quite adept at learning, she personally believed.
And thus-
"I hope you don't mind if I give you a hand, sir," Verena said as she approached the scene.
The farmer had a bewildered expression on his face. "Eh? What's a perty city girl like you doing here?"
The brunette immediately covered her face with her grimoire. "...P-Please don't say that again..." she said, hiding her face. She really didn't like compliments, especially on how she looked. She didn't think she was unattractive, but it was not something she was accustomed to being told after years of how she was treated at the hand of her father.
"A-At any rate... Summoner Creation Magic: Gaia's Blessing."
Stones began stockpling up one after another, being born from the girls mana. They stacked up on one another, broke down, reshaped and reformed. These stone shaped constructs of mana repeated this process over until a large, bipedal creature appeared. It looked more like it was capable of combat rather than anything else, especially given the hammer-like shape of it's head. The rocky prostrutions that stuck out from all over it's arms and back did little to put the farmer at ease. It also dwarfed every human by a substantial amount, being twice as tall as Faust. It seemed as though nothing good could come from something like this. And yet..
Verena carefully made sure to keep it out of Faust's way, while also keeping it away from the pen itself. A massive hand reached inside, as Verena's eyes carefully took notice of where the pig food was at. With a delicate level of control, the girl had the golem grab a spare bucket with the bottom most part of it's fingers as it grabbed the food, before dumping it into the slosh. This seemed to be quite tiring to the newcomer, however. And, for good reason. Trying to keep up this level of control with such a large construct while being able to avoid damaging anything was quite intensive.
Other mages likely would have attempt to train through combat. However, for Verena, this mundane, every day way of life was the perfect training for her. She simply had been passing by when she noticed this, as well as the potential it offered for training. After all, a golem user was only as good as their ability to control their constructs. However, after doing this two more times, Verena's face turned bright red, only just now realizing how out of line she had stepped.
"I'm so sorry!" she said to the farmer, the golem disappating not long after. "I'm very sorry! I just happened to see the farm when I got into Hage, and it seemed like a good way to get some practice in, but I didn't even consider asking you if I should have, or how much, or if he was getting paid... please forgive my selfishness."

"If the farmer wouldn't mind." He replied as the lady came forth with intention to help him with his task. The lady then sent her grimoire out, forming a large golem out of stone just outside of the pigsty's fence. He watched as the golem reached over the fence and grabbed one of his extra pails full of swine food. The golem then dumped its contents all at once, causing for some to splatter out of the food box and onto Faust. The pigs didn't seem to mind however, as one came trotting towards him, licking stray food off of his foreleg. She did this for two more times and, despite having a bit more mess than the usual, Faust didn't really mind at all—after all, the pigsty was already a mess in of itself.
The golem did seem to be of great help despite of how large and clunky it may seem, perhaps he should develop a similar humanoid form for his golems to aid him with everyday tasks, something other than the spider-like creatures he had been accustomed to summon. But that was a thought for a later date. As he found himself lost in his own thoughts with regards to golems, he finally dumped the remaining few that's left in his bucket. He sighed as he looked down to see his clothing covered in mud and pig food, though it didn't matter much—he could get it washed after all. "Thank you." He uttered, turning towards the lady. "It sure did expedite the process." With that said, he approached the hose to his left, one attached to a faucet found at the side of the pigsty he was in.
He turned the faucet on, allowing water to travel through the hose. Unable to endure the foul stench from both mud and pig food that covered him no longer, Faust sprayed himself with water. A gentle flow of water came rushing down the water hose which he then held above him, bathing him in clean water to cleanse himself. His wet shirt made his chiseled body a lot more noticeable than it was before as it stuck tightly against his skin. "No worries, I'm not getting paid at all." He said, deadpan as ever with his usual monotonous tone. He continued with bathing himself from the pigsty's water hose, making sure to get all that mud off of his person. "It's just a favor I had to do in place of... someone..." Just as he uttered these words, the image of his bearded senior knight formed in his head, chuckling with ecstasy just as he remembered him.
"Earth mage?" He asked, pointing the hose off of him for a moment with water still flowing out of it. "Your name?"
Another one of the pigs found within the pigsty came trotting towards him, taking advantage of the hose's flowing water which it then drank from, the pig raised its head with its mouth open, catching water which flowed from the hose as Faust momentarily took a pause with his bath.

The brunette was so focused on her own strange idea of training that she hadn't even realized, nor considered the possibility that the food might spill over. At her current level, it took just about all of her focus to be able to grab something as small as a bucket with the large golem without damaging it. Due to the nature of her wood golem, trying to pick things up like a bucket would prove difficult. Not impossible, but nonetheless implausible to achieve.
And thus, it was such an incredible shock to her when glanced back to the man in the pigsty, somehow much worse off than when she had helped.
Verena's face immediately turned bright red. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make it worse for you! I'm very sorry!" she said over and over again, despite the rather stoic demeanor Faust carried himself in and his words of gratitude. All Verena could focus on was the fact she still lacked the sufficient control needed, and someone got made the fool a result. All for her selfish desire of wanting to train. Nobody had asked her to show up here. Nobody had asked her to help. She simply did it herself.
The golem had returned from whence it came--that is to say, nothingness, at Verena's unspoken will as she watched the stranger approach the hose. Wait, was he really going to-? Right here? Well, she supposed it wasn't like there was any other way. The stench must have been overbearing. Though she didn't consider herself a noble anymore, this was not exactly the type of thing she aspired to do, either. Anything to have the sensation of being clean, after all, she imagined.
He was surprisingly fit for a mage, Verena noticed. There wasn't much reason to to this hard physical labor in this world. Even ignoring golems, magic in of itself allowed a person to surpass what would be considered humanly possible. Of course, one should always try to take care of themselves, but the build he showed that he simply wasn't trying to keep fat off. Their magic must have been incredibly weak if that was the case. Yet, weak as her sensory abilities were, she could tell that this person was stronger than her. How much? She wasn't sure. But it was enough of a difference that even her sensory could pick up on it.
So then... why did this stranger find himself working in this manner?
Verena was so lost in thought that the simple question tossed her way almost missed it's mark."Huh? Oh... uh, no. As far as elements go, my proper element is carbon. But... I'm more adept with golems than I am with my proper element. I-It'd be easy to call my proper affinity 'Summoner'. I um... I can make golems from many types of elements. I just need to learn how each element works."
She paused. Was that correct? She wasn't sure. The fact she was able to command an Earth and Wood golem, as well as making steady progress on her cloth golem, to her was proof of that. But the world was vast. Maybe she was overestimating herself? Still, it was pretty abnormal that she'd be able to learn those elements when she had a natural affinity for carbon. She wasn't quite sure.

"I'm fine, really" He said, seeing the lady before him worrying about the mess she had done. Then again, he didn't mind, yet she seemed insistent on taking the blame for whatever it was she had apparently done. Faust looked down to his side, seeing one of the pigs enjoying itself with a drink from his water hose. Thinking that he had done enough to get rid of the stench that covered him, he finally bent down to turn off the faucet, stopping the flow of water through the hose which he then hung back to its proper place.
Summoner? He had never even heard of it before, perhaps another one of those rarer affinities only those blessed with luck were able to wield and possess. "Summoner you say... Never heard of it." He said with the same monotonous tone as before. If so, then what he had seen on her grimoire back when she had brought it out earlier might have been exactly what it was. "I might be wrong but I think I saw a fourth leaf on your grimoire when you summoned that golem..." He rubbed his chin before taking a whiff of something strong enough to make him wince. He grimaced, smelling something so unpleasant so close to him. He lifted the bottom half of his shirt towards his nose, momentarily showing his abdomen, and took a whiff off of it. No doubt, it was his clothing that had been defiled by the pigsty's stench. He sure hoped that the lady didn't mind talking to him while he was at such a state.
A four leaf clover on ones grimoire signified good luck, or so he had been told. Good luck which blessed its user with great power in contrast to those who held regular three leaves on their grimoires. Fortunate enough, Faust was given the fourth leaf, warranting him the attention of anyone who might see his grimoire for the first time. "If you can learn to make golems from various elements then you could probably learn my main element." He said as he was intrigued with what the female could do with her magic. His main element of course being Void. While he had the ability to utilize the Solar element, he still haven't touched much on it other than with one of his spells being a combination of both his elemental affinities. Perhaps later on he could do something with his secondary element to make him an even more formidable knight.
"Ah.. and you never told me your name." He added, pointing wearily towards the lady. Chances are, she probably didn't even hear him, he was mumbling for the most part, after all. Either that or she's the type to withhold information before gaining knowledge of who he were. "Faust, Faust Kastr." He introduced himself. "I'm..." He paused, almost stating of his occupation.
"Whatever you do kid, if someone other than the farmer asks, don't ever tell you're a knight... got it?" The bearded senior of his then chuckled wearily. "N-not that there's any shame to hide..." Once more, the Golden Dawn senior chuckled as if having second thoughts and began mumbling to himself about being traced to his name and all that.
"I'm... feeding pigs. What brings you here?" He continued, dismissing the image of his senior knight as he finished with his words.

Was he just saying that to make her feel better? She wasn't sure. The man before her really didn't seem troubled. But what if he was just putting on an act? ...No, there was no reason for him to. Some stranger showing up and making a mess over your clothes? ...Any person who would be upset would have prompt reason to act out on it. So, maybe, just maybe... he was actually meaning what he was saying. She'd put faith in that then.
"I-If you insist..." she said.
"...I don't blame you. For starters, it doesn't even sound like an actual affinity like some others, but it's also not just something anyone gets. Because as you noticed..." She took her grimoire, holding it so the back of the cover was facing Faust, with the four leaves. The clover leaves, however, seemed to be spread out rather than connected like one would traditionally believe. In addition, her cover was very clearly on what would normally be the back of the book. Truly, a bizarre grimoire indeed. The girl's expression dampened as she clung to her book, before putting it back in the specialized pouch that all mages had for their grimoires.
Hope. Love. Loyalty. Luck. One with a four leaf grimoire was supposedly blessed with all of these. For Verena, however, none of this held true. It was the source of her misfortune, her parents betrayal and their lack of love. At most, she had hope, but she couldn't place hope in herself. Her only hope was that she would manage to learn many things about golems, and that that knowledge could be spread throughout the world to better and enrich the lives of many. But that hope was faint.
The girl was still a bit away from the pigsty itself, so the stench itself wasn't as bad for her as it might have been for Faust. Still, it wasn't as if she couldn't smell it, so she simply pinched her nose with her fingers It might not have been the most noble approach to bad smells, but she had been traveling for five years now, and met many different types of people from all walks of life by this point. While this wasn't a life she would personally aspire for, it was a life she'd seen enough by now.
Verena wasn't such a school girl to get embarrassed by someone removing their shirt. It only made her want to ask the question that was on her mind more. What type of magic was this man capable of? He was stronger than her most likely. She was positive of that. He could very easily use magic to make this situation easier. Did he not have sufficient control? Her mind was racing and then-
Oh. She forgot to introduce herself. He'd asked about that a moment ago, right. "I'm uhm... Verena," she simply said. She had no interest in using her family name for introductions, and so she hoped Faust wouldn't pry into that. With introductions taken care of, however.
"...Faust, right? ...Why haven't you used your magic to help with the pigs? What type of magic do you use? I'm pretty sure I can make a golem out of it, even if it's not an element I've yet to learn. As long as you're willing to teach, at least."

"It is my pleasure meeting you, Verena" He said with a bow of his head out of courtesy. He made sure to keep enough distance between him and the female before him to spare her from the unpleasant smell that came off of his clothing. Then, Verena gave him her inquiry with regards to his magic. It was true, the young knight could have easily made use of his magic, however-
"My magic?" He echoed, making sure he had heard correctly of her question. "I'm able to utilize the Solar element for one. However, mainly..." He said, trailing off as he took his grimoire off of its leather holster. His grimoire too had a peculiar look. It was ornate, with a deep, dark purple cover adorned with golden stars, one on each corner. Should one stare at it for long, the cover itself seems to be animated, multiple stars twinkled as they seem to mimic the starry night sky, while in fact, it is an exact reflection of the outer reaches of space itself. The clover itself was embossed in gold, position right at the middle of its front cover, with the four leaves it had being displayed all too clearly. The grimoire lifted itself up off of his hand and, with a faint purple glow, opened itself whilst flipping to a particular page. As the grimoire settled, a triad of Void Arms formed to his sides, two on his left with another one to his right. "I use the element of Void..." He continued his sentence as he gestured towards the gigantic triad of arms that had formed to his sides.
"It is true, I could have had an extra hand or two, quite literally, should I use my magic. However..." He said as he made use of one of his Void Arms to reach one of the now empty buckets which once held food for the pigs to feast upon. The gigantic arm of void was able to easily reach the pail considering its length and size, however, the metal bucket then vanished without a trace soon after using three of its rather large fingers in an attempt to pick it up. "...I would've erased the poor swine's foodstuff out of existence if I tried grabbing the pail. If it isn't enchanted or with proper magical resistance, then most likely, it would be erased."
"It's as destructive as it sounds." A defeated sigh escaped his lips. "As much as I want to, I shouldn't use it for everyday tasks as certainly, it'll bring more destruction than it does help." He had his Void Arms uncast, shattering all three gigantic arms of void before having them dissipate into nothingness. His grimoire then landed to his palm which he then abruptly closed, returning it to its holster where it had always been kept. "I could teach you how to call upon the Void, however I suppose there's a better time and place for that." He added, agreeing upon her suggestion.
There had always been those who feared and discriminated him for having such a terrifying affinity towards the Void. However, while he may be shunned for the nature of his magic by some, most viewed him with highest regards considering the fact that the previous Wizard King himself had been known to use the same Void element as he does.

How polite. Was he a noble? No, no noble would ever put themselves to work in these circumstances, no matter the situation at hand. That said, it was equally unlikely that he was born here in Hage. The way he spoke was not that of an uneducated person. He likely was born somewhere in the common region. Nairn, maybe? Possible Kikka. Either way, she was confident he called somewhere in the Common Region home.
Faust didn't seem to have any issue sharing his magic. That was nice. She always loved to know what other types of magic others had, and it always caused her mind to race on the possibility of what type of golem she could make from what element. It always made her mind dance with excitement. Shy and timid as she was, the excitement always became visible in her eyes when she got to thinking like this, eyes twinkling crimson like a star ready to burst. As Faust showed his grimoire and explained his first element, one could practically see the gears that made up her brain spinning on max. But what he said next dramatically changed her demeanor.
"I use the element of Void."
Unlike Summoner, Void already was an element that had something of a reputation. That existed in stories. And of course, there was the fact that the previous Wizard King was a known user of that particular element. Something that only someone could hope to access with a powerful grimoire. A four leaf. She hadn't noticed it then, but a proper look revealed the four leaves. Here, right now in Hage, a meeting of two persons blessed by mana was happening. She wondered how often something like this popped up in history.
Verena's hair fell, covering her face as she came to the reality. Those two elements he'd mentioned were incredibly powerful elements. If left unchecked, this one could be calamity incarnate. He probably knew that with how he carried himself. Still... the demonstration of the element was unnecessary. Not that she'd tell someone with Void otherwise. Even still, Faust carried himself with great responsibility. Aware of the limitations of his magic, he simply resorted to doing what an everyday man would do. Perhaps that was the reason for his conditioning then, too. He was not blessed with the means to do ordinary things. His future would only allow for extraordinary things.
...That was what he probably thought, at least.
"...I've been traveling Clover for almost five years now," Verena slowly began to say. "I've met many types of people and heard about all sorts of types of magic. But I don't think I've met someone as self-aware and responsible, yet at the same time wielding the power you do, Faust. It may not mean much coming from someone like me, but I think that's something to hold immense pride in. Furthermore..."
"...That just means your magic was tailor-made for emergency rescues, huh? You can remove debris that traps others, as well as clean up after natural disasters. I won't pretend that the offensive nature of the Spells was lost on me, but... I think it'll be even more beautiful when it's used to save others, just like your grimoire. I don't know if I'll be able to learn that particular element, but out of the four types of elements I'm able to make golems out of right now, none would be able to deal with an emergency rescue as quickly as one as Void would be able to. I don't know if a chance like this will ever pop up again, and so..."
"...would you be willing to teach me, Faust? When you're finished here, of course. I wouldn't want to bother anymore than I have already." Her voice showed a fierce resolve, but not one that came off as overbearing or desperate. She understood how rare a chance this was, and the brunette wanted to take advantage of this chance before it became too late. Even still, even if it would be a bit disheartening, she was also fully prepared to be told no. Void was, after all, an element that was largely associated with being destruction incarnate.

Emergency rescues, she said. Faust sighed, turning his gaze opposite to hers. She knew all too little about the very nature of his magic. While it is true, he does need to take care of how he'd use his magic are or risk erasing something, or someone, for good. However, she seemed far too invested at learning his craft. "I'd say it's ill advised for the likelihood of accidentally vanishing something, or someone, important under the rubble." He said as he stacked the empty buckets to be sent back in for later. "But to each's own."
"I suppose I'm finished here." He turned his gaze back towards the lady. "I could teach you right here, right now, Verena." He added. He's not against with teacher her how to harness the power of Void, however, he feared for her to be consumed by its rather aggressive nature. He had to trust her strength and hope for the best. Not that he knew any consequence for the improper usage of Void magic, he could only assume so.
"I just hope you don't mind the stench of things over here." He came closer towards the edge of the fence on which Verena was situated. Truth be told, he had never tried to even think of teaching how to use his own Void magic to others. He had never really met someone with the aptitude to even do so. Thought there's always a first for everything and he had thought of simply winging it, to tell her how he does it despite having at most ninety percent of it coming off as something natural without the need of much effort to do.
"Well then, shall we start?" He said as he came face to face with the lady. He wouldn't mind if she were to cover her nose, after all, it is truly foul where they stood.

Verena's face flushed. Such a display was unbecoming of her. How could she have possibly made such a fool of herself? Argh, that was so embarrassing! She just got so excited at the prospect of learning another element--no, it was more than just that. This was her first encounter with someone who was also in possession of a four-leaf grimoire. She didn't think she'd encounter someone like that in her life. Naturally, the challenge of if she could create a golem from such a rare element struck a chord with her. She knew deep down there was a part of her that wanted to learn not for the good she could do with it, but simply to see what the limits of her unique elemental nature.
Faust didn't seem to mind though. He was as nonchalant now as when she had stumbled about him. Though, the girl did wish that he would put a shirt back on. Well, it couldn't be helped. It wasn't as if she was the sort to get distracted by such trivial things, anyways. A body was just that.
"I-I uhm... think it would be best if we went out of the area, so as to cause minimal damage," Verena added. "Doing it right on the farmer's property could cause damage neither of us could properly repay. We should probably go out of Hage's border, just to avoid causing any serious damage. There's a spot that'd work just fine out not too far from here. I hope you don't mind following along."
As Verena said this, she went ahead and turned around, making her exit from the farm, hopeful that Faust would follow.
