Yuurei had a few things to take care of within Hage. He had gone there to see if things within the village were fine. The Daemon reports were all of the places and they were even found within dungeons. It was a bit of annoying if he had placed his input, but the best thing they could do was continue their fight against them and hope they would be able to stop them. Still, when he made his way to this village, there was no sign of them, and the place itself was peaceful. It was good, to say the least, and he was able to see the happy face of many of the orphanage children running around. They were glad that he had arrived, and he had told them stories about his adventures throughout the kingdom. It would inspire many of them to want to become Magic Knights. It wasn’t what he wished for, but his stories brought this upon the children as they wanted adventures like his.
There was also a person he had met within the village, who seemed to have been a strong individual. This person was kind enough to help those within this village of no cost to their financial life, and he was glad about that. Her magic was strong and different than most, and when he approached her about joining the knights, she had turned him down as she felt like she needed to prove herself. Yuurei could already tell she was worthy enough just from the interaction with the people in this village, and he wanted her to be a part of the Silver Eagles. This was his main reason for not leaving this place as of yet as he wasn’t giving up so easily. The Silver Tempest was on the biggest construct that was in Hage as he was sitting on top of it.
His eyes closed, he would let out his sensory to see if he could find her. His sensory taking a few minutes to pinpoint this specific mana, he would be able to sense other mana some strong, some weak. It was impressive what some of these people's potential were, and all they had to do was work on it to blossom. It wouldn’t take long, but Yuurei’s eyes would open wide as he would spot the mana signature of the person he was looking for. His eyes open, he would stand up from where he sat, and he would jump down from the construct that he was on top of. The noble would disappear from where he was and he would move quickly through the town until he was near where she was. It seemed like she was outside of all place and he would just place himself on top of one of the roofs nearby with a smile on his face.
“I see you’re still in Hage, Bryn. I’m glad I found you here.” He said this with a smile on his face as he waved at the woman.
Someone had called out to her and the tone was familiar. In a good way, given that the last time they crossed paths was on amicable terms. Perhaps even more so, since not many could say that they had this much facetime with a prestigious squad captain unless they were higher in the ranks. Especially out here in the thickets of Hage. This encounter was every bit as sudden as the last, but with a weaker excuse for the Silver Eagle captain.
Bryn wasn't doing anything particularly different or out of the ordinary. Simply channeling her magic element in hopes to get ideas for new spells. Before the good captain approached her, her energy was warping and took on a flame-like appearance. More uniquely, the aura left the rest of her body and draped itself similarly to a cloak. Her energy danced to the whims of the passing breezes through Hage's hills, but dissipated once Bryn's focus was interrupted. She wanted to get mad since this was the first real manifestation of the concept meant to improve on her gust step spell. A part of her couldn't do it though. Captain Yuurei Krane almost never interrupts the passings of civilians unless it was important. So his reputation says.
"I'm beginning to wonder if you have some less than tasteful hobbies Captain Krane. Spying on a lady is mighty rude. But hello to you all the same. What can I do you for?" Bryn greeted with a smirk and a raised eyebrow.
Glad? What exactly was this man glad for? Putting her arms on her waist, she decided to inquire further.
"Ok I'll bite. Why exactly are you happy to find me? This about the whole Silver Eagle thing again?" she asked with a slightly disgruntled tone at the end.

Yuurei would laugh when he heard the words that had come out of Bryn’s mouth. It was a good way to tease and he didn’t mind it one bit. He stood where he was as it seemed like she asked the question of why he was here, and she was correct. He chuckled this time as he could only rub the back of his head.
“Well my hobbies are all of the place if I say so myself. I honestly enjoy myself around beautiful ladies like you. But you’re right in the matter that spying on a lady is quite rude. Still, if it were you that I was spying on, then I can surely understand why.” He would say this to her as he had a smile on his face as he had to return to the real matter at hand.
He would drop down from the structure he was on as he didn’t want to be rude when speaking to her. His neck cracked as he would move it to the side and then back to its original position. He saw that she was in the middle of something, which was a good thing because it seemed like she was training to become stronger.
“Yes, you’re right. I am here about the whole Silver Eagle thing. You may not see it yourself Bryn, but I think you are worth joining the squad now. Your strength has increased dramatically and I think you have the potential like many others in the squad to above and beyond.” He paused for a second as he had a smile on his face.
“Of course there is also a position that is vacant that needs filling. You won’t be alone in the rest, but I think people working on to try and become the Vice-Captain of the Silver Eagle would be fun. That also means you can earn the right to say you’re my right-hand man or woman in your case and go out to battle alongside me.” He said to her as he looked at her to see if she would take a bite of the hook.
Power meant to influence, and if she had that, then she could do more for the kingdom than she was doing currently. Still, she needed to join the squad in order to prove her worth and climb the rankings like everyone else. The noble had a bag in his hand as he asked for Jason to bring it to him with his communication spell. He would have it and if she agreed, then he could give her what was inside of the bag.
An exasperated look washed over Bryn's face. If nothing else, Captain Krane was tenacious. She was sure that her turning him down the other day was cordial enough while not sacrificing on the directness of the meaning. More importantly, while worth was in the eye of the beholder, it hurt her pride more than stroked it to hear him praise her growth. Captains sure were in a league of their own if they could judge caliber with a single look. Same with the tease of the Vice-Captain position. This conversation had to get derailed a bit before the Silver Eagle captain got the wrong idea of what motivated Bryn.
"Alright see here Captain Krane." Bryn said while holding up her hands to slow down the coming news. "I don't know what your tingles your Captain senses are getting, but worth is in the eye of the beholder. I'm flattered, really I am, that you think that highly of whatever spunk it is that caught your eye. But you gotta think about this a bit more unless Silver Eagles is filled with people you scooped up outta far standing towns."
She subconsciously moved to a scolding stance, but tried to keep her tone neutral. Yuurei was in higher standing than herself and as such had things to keep in mind. Bryn was not privy to what exactly his responsibilities entailed, but she knew of Silver Eagle's favoritism for recruits. Everyone in the forsaken region knew. Silver Eagles, led by Yuurei Krane, was considered one of the elites of the social classes as far as squads were concerned. It was unheard of for a commoner, regardless of grimoire rank, to be accepted so readily or easily. Bryn was not one to be hindered by unpopular opinion and truth be told, her circumstances left her with nothing to lose except her own pride. What she cared not to wager, despite how little she knew of him, was the reputation of the supposed leader of this squad. The morales and guidelines of the squad were something she personally followed, but the divide in classes were not so easily conquered nor shared. How could you justify to one of a higher pedestal that another below them was even possibly their equal?
"Your squad has quite the reputation, and a lot of it admittedly is due to your wonderful set of morales. But, Silver Eagles is the pipe dream of commonfolk such as me. We have a saying at the fringe about your squad actually: o values the eagles shines, but silver shalln't never be willing parted by the masses of the wealthy onto the hands of the beggar under a fool's odds. I'm not sure where you stand in regards to the whole noble to commoner situation, but you gots to uphold your quo as their leader no?" Bryn questioned, then stopping suddenly.
"I ain't that familiar beyond the stories of you, but what makes me so different from the others who passed by? My brother had attempted to curry favor from you too, but he ended up proud of his Purple Orca mantle. Again, don't take this the wrong way, as I'd love for a chance to show class is just a convenient headstart and not a firm decider. But I'd rather not get you troubled for putting me upfront with special scouting when I could easily prove what you see in me to the rest of the squads."
Even when teased with fame and position, Bryn's retort and questions in response to Yuurei echoed the sentiment she expressed the first time the met. Her red eyes convinced that she did not need any special favor to prove she was worthy nor had any ill intent to capitalize on others. It was the same conviction one could plainly see in her day to day work ethic and magic. Her aura shone brillianty and without flaw, much like the simplicity and straightforward power of her personality.

Yuurei would laugh when he heard her words in the beginning as it seemed like she was questioning his method of picking up people. The people he had in his squad were people he could trust, and he enjoyed being around. He could see that she got into a weird stance and he would smile at her waiting for her to say something. It wouldn’t take long and after she had gathered her thoughts she was ready. He would stand there quietly listening to her words as she spoke up to him. When she was finished speaking to him and telling him about the squad he led, he would look up to the sky a bit as he was thinking about what to say and everything she had said. He rubbed his chin for a bit as he would look at her with a serious look on his face.
“I honestly don’t care what the nobles think of me and my decision. I choose people base on their worth, let it be their determination, their power, their magic, or even just the will to do well for the kingdom. Yes, there are nobles within my squad, a lot of them to say the least, but that is because it is the Silver Eagle.” He paused for a second.
“It has been like that for years, and I want to slowly start changing it, and it is why I recruit those I see that have that any and if all of those qualities. Your determination to get stronger as I saw just a few seconds ago. Your will to help those within the kingdom just to make sure that they are fine without pay. Those are things I see when I looked at you the first day I met you. It made me happy to see people like you do things like that. And I need more people like you that can hopefully change those within the squad.” He said to her as he had placed a smile on his face when he looked at her.
“As for your brother, if he took the exams, then things were different. He didn’t catch my eyes as you did. There were others I felt more deserving to join the Eagles. Quite a few people aren’t nobles roaming within the squad, and they thrive to make sure that they do their best for the kingdom. If you want to prove to me that you deserve the mantle, then do so, but do it while you wear the mantle.” He said to her as he took a deep breath.
“How about this in a few weeks you show me your growth in a sparring match. I will judge you off fighting me if you are truly worth the mantle?” He would ask her wondering what she would say to him.
Yuurei's justification for what he did was sound and a refreshing change of pace. Seems as if Bryn had no reason worrying about what or how the Captain controlled his squad. He continued to reinforce the impression Bryn had that he was a person of merit rather than status. Nobility held to a standard. That was an idea Bryn could rally behind.
She scoffed at the mention of a spar. The woman loved a good fight just about as much as her peers, but not so much that she had to go picking one with individuals who would clearly mop the floor with her. "I don't have a death wish Captain Krane, so I'll say no to the 'spar' request. That implies I would put up something that resembles resistance. Now, one on one training sounds more appropriate for a Captain to their soldier wouldn't you say?"
That statement hinted that Bryn accepted Yuurei's earlier offer. She sighed and relaxed her shoulders, looking over at him with a slightly defeated expression.
"Fine fine. You've made your point Captain Krane. I already know you're a fine man and capable. Still think you're daft for putting that much faith in a gal like me, but who am I to keep spitting in the drink you're so obviously ready to down?" she said, then looking over at him eye to eye.
"So what do I need to do to get this process started? I don't think it's as simple as you telling me I am in or whatever right?"

Yuurei would hear what she said and he would be fine with training her and making sure that she had gotten more experience than she possibly had right now. The last thing she said put a smile on his face as he was hoping that meant she accepted the terms. He would chuckle a bit when he heard her comments as the two of them looked at each other in the eyes as she had asked him what did they need to do to get her inside of the Silver Eagle.
“That is good to hear Bryn. We will train then I will make sure you get as much as you want and need. As for getting in, I just do this.” He paused for a second as he had opened the bag that he was holding as he would take out the mantle that was inside of it.
Yuurei would walk towards her and he would hand it to her.
“You put that on, and you should be fine. Also, special mantles grant you more mana, so that’s a plus. Of course, I just have to file some paperwork to the Wizard King, telling him I got a new recruit, but that is it.” He said stretching his arms into the air before putting them back down.
His right arm stretched forward as Yuurei used his spatial ring to create a portal in front of them.
“We’re off to the base, and from there we will get you situated. I will explain a lot of things as there will be a lot of useful things you might want to know about, but enter the portal please.” He said as he would enter the portal after she did as they would make their way back to the Silver Eagle Base.
And just like that Bryn would find herself inside of the Magic Knights as one of the kingdom’s protectors. Yuurei could only hope and wonder what she would be capable of doing. He hoped that she might be one of the people who could be by his side. There was Hanami as well, and with the determination of these two girls, he could tell that this would be good for the squad.
