The Rogue’s Refuge. This was a town no lawful being wanted to acknowledge existed, as if they had any say over the town or it’s people. This was a town on the very edge of the Forsaken Region, all but living up to the name as it was frequently passed over in favor of the closer areas, who were much kinder and far more cooperative. This town was a dark place and hid within even darker corners and its alleyways lurked all manner of terrible sights. Or so it was told to children to scare them, anyway. In practice, while it was dark, dreary and had far more crime than any other town in the Region save for maybe Aries Garse, the truth is it was just a town.
People still lived and struggled within it. It was lawless, but yet it had rules you followed. The crime wasn’t even that prolific, happening more to outsiders and those among the populace that were either too new to the town or too stupid or arrogant to care. If you guarded yourself, you would have been fine. The only major rule was no magic knights and even then, you’d only see more hiding and barely contained disdain from the locals rather than any outright violence. There were always exceptions, of course, but most people tended to stay away from the violence when they could, including criminals.
Saki wasn’t worried about herself, either- she’d left most of her coin back at the base and only had a few yul in her pocket- an amount she wouldn’t have missed if it went missing. She’d left her cloak at the base as well; leaving behind a rough, thuggish looking woman who didn’t look too out of place in the town. It was the way she liked it. She came to the town for information, but not really any specific kind- she just liked to keep her ear to the ground, especially now since the shattering. And what better place to look for information than a bar?
She found that bar as she pushed through the fog, eying the faded, rickety sign that hung up above it as she stepped inside. The place was like a bar you'd find in any town in the forsaken region- dusty, old and filled with a few holes here and there. The place was filled with the ambiance of people chatting, with some people sparing her some keen, paranoid glances, but most went about ignoring her entirely as they focused on their own lives. She sat down at the bar and set a coin down, ordering a drink as she waited for something interesting to happen..
