News had hit the kingdom of the emergence of yet another dungeon! Magic Knights were being tasked to venture out and conquer this new location, to uncover all of its secrets. Unlike the other discovered dungeons however...this one emerged in a neutral territory, the Fringe. Not only were the Magic Knights aware of this new location. Word was getting around that of rogue mages growing interested in this dungeon, taking advantage of its positioning. The Magic Knights needed to quickly uncover these secrets before they fell into the wrong hands, and one of the people selected to travel through this tower...is Fuu Wilhelm.
Normally, Fuu would be all excited to take on a new dungeon, especially one rumored to have beasts of the past. She'd want nothing more than to conquer such prehistoric beasts...but the dwarf wasn't exactly herself lately.
Word had gotten around about the events that unfolded at Kikka which is now be taken over by Daemons. She had heard that her vice captain, Artemis was among the people there who tried to fight off the Daemons...but she lost, ending up severely beaten. Whether she'd be able to continue to be vice captain or not was unknown to the earth mage, but after learning about this, a mixture of a emotions flooded the girl's mind. Anger, frustration...sadness...guilt. Fuu wanted so badly to just march into that ruined town, and avenge the water mage...but even she knew that it would be foolish. The girl was beginning to get the picture of how wise it is to not just run into every battle recklessly, especially battle she cannot win.
She had Artemis to thank for that...
Still, it frustrated the girl to no ends that she wasn't there to help...that she wasn't strong enough to be of actual use.
She needed to become stronger...to make sure nothing like this ever happens again to any of her squadmates....and hopefully, this dungeon will be helpful.
With her first step into the Fringe, Fuu stopped and looked back. Just one more step, and she'd officially be on neutral territory...where anything could happen. A hint of worry was on the young girl's face, but it was quickly washed away by her determination to see this through. "To be strong." She then looked back in front of her, the dwarf's pale eyes fierce, backed up by her drive to be better. "To be like Artemis..."
Fuu had now fully walked into the Fringe, the place looking pretty much like a barren wasteland. Taking a few more steps, the dwarf paused yet again, realizing something...and error she had just made. "Ah shit...Forgot where the place was!" Fuu claimed, giving herself a facepalm while gritting her teeth. She growled lowly at this blunder, a thing she's known to make a lot. Even in this more serious mindset, Fuu was still prone to being Fuu.
The earth mage was just about to turn around and hop on her Magic Broom to head back and retrieve the information...until a dust storm started up. It started lightly for a few seconds, but wasted no time picking up in ferocity. "Grrrr, of course..." Fuu now found it hard to see where she was going, using her hand to shield her eyes. There was no way she'd be able to fly in this madness, so the dwarf attempted to retrace her steps to get out...but all she did was walking further in...getting even more lost! "Where the hell am I-Bleh!" The more the girl opened her mouth, the more dust had gotten in there, causing her to cough multiple times while trying to spit it out.
Still, Fuu continued to push on, not knowing where the hell she was going, and as she went on, the dust storm had started to settle down bit by bit until it was fully finish.
Fuu stopped as she took notice of this, her clothes riddled in dust...but in all honesty that was a normal thing for her. "It's about damn ti-" Slowly lowering her hand, the first thing the dwarf saw...was a stone structure towering over her. The girl rubbed her eyes as if she didn't believe what she was seeing, and blinked a few times. She may have forgotten the directions...but she knew very well what the place was suppose to look like. "Huh..." She had made it...to the Ancient Tower of the Quinteps.
"Sweet."
With a shrug, Fuu stepped up to the door which has been covered in lianas. Seems like the place looked pretty aged. Guess that's why it's "Ancient".
Putting on her Terra Gloves, Fuu stepped closer to the door and ripped them off. The door was now free, free for her to enter.
"Alright Fuu...Here goes." The girl said as she punched her palm. The earth mage opened the door, and stepped in...unknowing to her that she wasn't alone.
It was a habit. She could not help it. Her footsteps had naturally turned to the Witches’ Forest, until she remembered that she no longer lived there. Instead, the blue-haired elf found herself wandering towards the Fringe. Normally, the wasteland did not catch her fancy, but she had felt a shift in the air, a change in atmosphere. For some reason, she let herself meander over to the neutral territory, gazing in awe at the different terrains as she passed. Every season seemed to have made their home here, with their own little ecosystem in their respective areas.
But suddenly, a dust storm seemed to come out of nowhere, making the blue-haired elf cover her face with her hands. Her eyes were shut, and she tried to keep going forward, but unseen hands guided her in various directions, pushing her towards who knows where. It roared around her, and if it was not for the wind nudging her alone, she would have bent down to the ground and waited it out. Was it a few moments, a few minutes, or a few hours?
Sand whirled around her, and it was all the elf could do to not get any of the gritty stuff in her eyes or nose or mouth. The suddenness had felt unnatural, but she supposed that should be expected in this foreign and new environment. By the time it abated, she felt completely lost. The rush of sand had stopped, and cautiously, she peeked through her hands. Her mouth dropped in wonder and awe. It was like something out of a story book.
A monstrous tower lay in front of her, all rock and all power. It was mysterious in its strange leaning position and crumbling appearance. Must have been here for ages, from the looks of it. At the same time, it was extremely captivating in its sheer size. For a tower so big and tall, how did she miss it before? Or perhaps, its entrance was not meant to be known or seen. A place like this must have a legendary name. Pity that she knew nothing about it. Then it hit her.
She was lost. Thorough, completely, and utterly lost.
However, she was lost in this fascinating place, and rather than feeling fear, she felt a tinge of elation. As of late, she has been going on so many adventures, meeting so many new and old faces—she was starting to get used to it. Even looked forward to it. Perhaps this was what they meant when one had a lust for life, a passion to experience life to its fullest in all its adrenaline rushes and adventures. She was starting to understand that now.
As she was gazing at the stone structure, she almost missed a green-cloaked figure near its entrance. Upon closer inspection, it looked to be a Green Mantis. A smile grew on the elf’s face. Wonders of wonders, it was a familiar form. She knew the mana signature. "Fuu!" She called out, waving her arms at the dwarf. But somehow, the other mage did not hear her, and had entered into the structure. Suna hurried up to where the knight had disappeared, and found herself staring at the entryway to the tower.
Though she was short for an elf, she still needed to clear a few more lianas away before she could get through. Blue shimmers of pure aura weaved themselves to form her Cadenza sword, and she quickly hacked through them, clearing the entryway and giving herself more room to enter. Then she stepped through the door that was partially open, thanks to the dwarf who had passed through them.
- Floor 1 | Room 1 -
Assuming that the Green Mantis sensed her presence, Suna would give a little wave, albeit sheepishly. It felt like she was intruding on something that the girl was doing. "Hello again, Fuu." She brushed off some of the sand on her shoulders and arms. "What are you doing over here? On a mission?"
Being the sound mage she was, her elven ears first picked up on the sound of rushing water. There was also the hum of flies and mosquitoes. She glanced around curiously. They were in a large circular area, and it was fairly dark, but warm. The only light the room got was from the cracks in the walls, but the shady place did not seem any cooler. In fact, the heat only seemed to grow. Was this some sort of sauna? She could already feel herself getting a little sweaty, and fanned herself with her hands, but to no avail.
"What is this place?" A sandstorm had brought her here to a stone structure, but inside, it was like a jungle. A beautiful one. How fascinating. Suna took a step forward, and felt herself start to sink. "Wha—" She lifted her feet up from the ground, but then the other leg started to sink. Immediately, the elf whipped out her magic broom and jumped on top of it. She hovered just above the ground, and even ran her fingers through the soil. It was loose and crumbly, but underneath, it felt damp.
"Watch out, Fuu. The ground feels like a swamp." Or a bog. Those are worse than swamps. She remembered seeing an unfortunate mana beast run into one, and it got stuck. The loose, wet soil quickly pulled it under, cleanly and quickly with no trace. Nature’s quiet but deadly trap. But a swamp like this could hold all types of dangers. In addition, she was not keen on getting her feet dirty unless it was absolutely necessary.
Then she extended a hand to Fuu. "Want a ride?" Her broom could hold one more, but whether the girl decided to jump on or not was up to her. Regardless of what she chose to do, Suna would fly her broom above the soft earth, while weaving through the overhanging vines and lianas. She arrived on the other side, the bottom step on a limestone staircase. If the dwarf had decided to cross the swamp by herself, the elf would look back to make sure she made it over. Then Suna turned and craned her neck forward, looking up at the staircase.
"I wonder what’s up there..." She pursed her lips thoughtfully, but there was a glint in her eyes, a spark of excitement at the adventure that lay ahead. The civilian may not know what she had gotten herself into, but she knew that it would not be boring.

Fuu could've swore she heard someone calling out, but that didn't stop the young girl from stepping in.
~~~~~Floor 1, Room 1
Now within this mysterious new dungeon, Fuu stood there and took in her new surroundings. The area was circular which made sense because of how this tower is shaped. What the earth mage wasn't expecting was how alike this place is to a swamp. "Woah." Fuu looked on in almost childlike amazement at this area. The girl was all for nature, especially when it comes to swamp like places. She was beginning to sweat, but that didn't really bother the dwarf. Hell, it wasn't even on her mind. She then took notice of the running water which further brought life to this location. It certainly beats running around a creepy mansion that's for sure.
Before the earth mage could take another step, she felt another mana signature. With her eyes lowered in suspicion, the girl didn't waste time trying to further read the mana. It could be a rogue mage, and the dwarf wasn't going to let them get the drop on her!
"Heh, ya picked the wrong dwarf to sneak up on!" Immediately turning around, Fuu was in a battle stance, ready to kick ass! Before she could do anything else, the girl's eyes widened at the familiar figure waving at her. It was no rogue mage...or at least Fuu didn't think she was one. It was that blue elf she had met back at the forest...along with Charles. Fuu could've swore she met her prior to that, but it was currently slipping her mind. But then again she didn't really dwell much on it. "Ah." Was all Fuu could say after hearing that sheepish hello. "It's just you." the girl added, sounding a bit disappointed yet relived at the same time. She kind of did want to kick some criminal ass, but it was probably for the best that she focuses on the dungeon.
"Well if you must know, It's some kind of new dungeon...and I'm here to conquer it before any lame rogues do." She claimed, gesturing out to the room. "Maybe dominate a few living fossils while I'm here." Fuu claimed with that cheeky look of confidence on her face. Then suddenly a mosquito flew by her ear, making that irritating buzzing noise. "And I'll start by, crushing this annoying ass mosquitoes!!" She tried swatting at it to no avail, then another landed on her nose, prompting the dwarf to smack herself, but it managed to get away, making Fuu only hurt herself. "Bah!" Well...there goes that cocky demeanor of hers.
She then looked over to Suna, appearing a bit embarrassed. "J-just don't get in my way, ya hear!?" she raged, a childlike scowl on her face as she crossed her arms.
Fuu watched as Suna took a further step into this room...and immediately began to sink! The dwarf looked a bit surprised at first, raising an eyebrow as her arms fell to her sides. But the elf managed to get away from this sinking trap by the use of her broom. Fuu peeked over at the ground just as Suna spoke again. "Yeah yeah, this whole room feels like a swamp." The girl said, a hint of sarcasm in her tone. "Eh, thanks, but I got this." The girl claimed, pointing at herself with a thumb. "I'm not gonna be done in by some dirt. If you hadn't notice by now, you're in the presence of the world's greatest earth ma-" As Fuu took her first step, she found herself sinking as well...and very much struggling.
"Waaahh, get me out, get me out!" Fuu flailed her arms desperately until they grasped upon some lianas that was dangling down. With both hands, Fuu managed to slowly pull herself out, and was now hanging onto dear life from it! Looking down at the ground, Fuu appeared a bit spooked. "Err..on second thought...You may carry me." She then looked up at Suna, trying her best to look all tough again. "B-but only because I don't feel like walking!" ...or sinking.
If Suna would still allow it, Fuu would get on the broom, and wrap her arms around the elf's waist. Once again, the dwarf had forgotten about her own flying broom...which was strapped right there on her back! At this point, it was almost like a running gag.
Fuu stayed quiet through the brief travel, and once the two have made it to those limestone staircases, Fuu would peek over from behind the elf as she spoke. "Hopefully, no more sinking ground." The dwarf mumbled before hopping off of the broom, landing on one of the staircases. A sigh of relief escaped the girl's lips. She wasn't sinking, so that was good. Now she looked up, and with another determined look, the earth mage climbed the steps, all the way up until she reached the next floor!
~~~ Floor 2 Room 1
After a few small slip ups along the way, Fuu managed to reach the top of these stairs. "About damn time!" she yelled out before shaking her head. The first thing the dwarf took notice of was a cave. Fuu could barely see what was inside, but looking around, this seemed to be the only option. If Suna were behind her, the dwarf would glance at her and nod before stepping in. Even while inside, the cave still didn't have the very best lightning, but it was enough for them to see where they are going. Just like the previous room, this cave is pretty warm.
"So far...nothing cool is happening." Fuu claimed, her voice echoing from within. Little did the dwarf know that there were some rather ominous looking roots slithering about...stalking their prey.
Suna had picked up on the few words from Fuu. Something about dungeons, rogues, and fossils. Well, she had gone through a dungeon before, in the form of a haunted mansion. Rogues? She had never met one before, besides the occasional bandits. As for fossils, what did she mean by that? Unbeknownst to the elf, she would soon find out what that entailed.
At the dwarf’s little antics, Suna hid a smile behind her hand, but quickly wiped it off her face when the other scowled at her. "Of course, of course," she had both hands out, waving them downwards in a pacifying manner. "I won’t get in your way." However, it did seem that the earth mage needed a hand when she started sinking. "Come on up." Suna allowed her to get on behind her on the broom, and felt the girl's grip around her waist. So cute.
It was interesting, and honestly quite adorable, that Fuu did not choose to use her own magical broom, which was strapped onto her back. Probably forgotten, Suna was guessing. Nonetheless, she made no mention of it. She doubted the earth mage would appreciate being called out for that, and besides, her broom could handle two riders, so it all worked out. They quickly made it to the staircase, and Suna hopped off the broom as well, ready to ascend up to the next floor.

The earth mage had run up ahead, while Suna followed behind her, albeit more slowly. The steps were quite damp, and she had to be careful not to slip. However, there was once or twice where she nearly lost her balance, but thankfully did not fully slip and fall all the way down to the bottom of the staircase. Upon reaching the top of the steps, they found themselves staring at a dark cave. Not only was it darker, but it was also incredibly warm and humid, more so than the room down below.
Perspiration started to form on her forehead, and the elf wiped it away with the back of her hand. There seemed to be no way but forward, so the duo pressed on into the grotto. She swatted at the humming pests around her, and even saw one land on her arm. She flicked the mosquito off her arm, but not before it had bit her and had started stealing her precious elven blood. Absentmindedly, she slapped at that spot where she got bit. She could heal that itch later.
The blue-haired femme glanced around. "Nothing cool, huh?" She doubted that would stay true for long. Then she caught sight of several red blinking lights. Upon closer inspection, she was momentarily caught off guard when she realized those were eyes. Blinking eyes. One singular red eye in the middle of a snail-like creature, and there were mushrooms growing on top of them. A strange and disturbing sight indeed.
Her skin crawled, just like back in the abandoned house in the room with all those slimy eyes. Then a crawling root wrapped itself around one of her feet, and she stumbled forward. "Ah!" Thankfully, she caught herself before she face planted, or worse yet, hit the dwarf in front of her. She immediately clambered back on her feet, an apology on her tongue. But just then, those mushrooms started to release their spores, and Suna’s left hand flew to cover her nose and mouth. She could only hope Fuu did the same, or at least try to avoid inhaling those flying seeds. Who knew what kind of poisons those spores contained.
Baka... She should have been more careful and sensitive to her surroundings, especially since this was a new place. She quickly extended her senses, attempting to find out just where all those strange plant-creatures were. The floating spores were now thickening, and they needed to get rid of them fast. Pure aura swirled around her as she formed Cadenza, blue magic weaving themselves to form her rapier-like sword. With her free right hand, the mage grasped onto it and swung out at the root that held her foot immobile.
Once she was free, Suna swung out at the snail-like mushrooms closest to her. She slashed out, her sword easily taking out one, two, three of those things. A root had shot out from the side of the cave, attempting to curl around her arm. She jumped back just in time, and cut it down quickly. All around her, pink lianas came to life, aiming to strike and pin her down. It was almost like a delicate dance with nature, although in a poison-filled environment and a more dangerous note in their movements.
Her sword Cadenza glowed as she chopped through two more of those mushrooms, bluish-green arcs of light arcing through the stifling darkness. She shuddered when the red glowing eyes blinked out of existence. At least it showed her that they were truly dead, but what were these things? It reminded her of those abominable experiments back in the Eldritch Home. However, she doubted these were related.
The sound mage had taken some damage from those spores, but would heal and cleanse those later, if they happened to catch a break from all the fighting. All this time, her left hand is still over the lower half of her face. "Fuu!" Her shout was muffled behind her hand, but the dwarf should still be close enough to hear it. "You good over there?" Her area was clear of those snail mushroom creatures, but she held her aura sword out, ready to assist the earth mage if needed.

"Eh?" Just like Suna, Fuu has taken notice of the ominous red eyes staring back at them, but the dwarf seemed thrilled to see them. "Finally. Something to punch!" Fuu claimed, but as she did, the girl could feel the elf bump into her, causing the earth mage to fall face first onto the ground! "Ack!" Fuu slowly pushed herself back up, and glared back at Suna. She was just about to give the sound mage a piece of her tiny mind until spores had started to fly by the two. Just as some of the spores landed on the dwarf, Fuu turned around to see the source of them. There was about ten weird looking snail...fungi...things, and they all looked pretty pissed.
Fuu was able to avoid a lot of the spores, but some did get on her...yet it appeared to have no effect. The girl fully stood up, and cracked her neck a bit. With that, Fuu charged at one of the monsters with little warning! Before it could retaliate, the dwarf threw a series of four punches with her Terra Gloves at one of the monsters, quickly putting it to an end! She then ran over and repeated the process on a second one, then the same to a third! She was on a roll, until she got to the fourth one where it managed to grab the girl by her ankles and slammed her onto the ground! A small groan escaped her lips as she was hurt from that attack. Then she gritted her teeth and growled at the snail thing. Now floating above her, the earth mage's grimoire flew open and began to glow. Fuu started to take in the mana from the earth around her until it surrounded and combined with her own mana, creating a brownish aura. "Will of Stone."
Fuu was able to break free from the snail's clutches with her physical reinforcement and grabbed onto its root like tentacle. She pulled the snail in and punched it straight in its gross looking eye before throwing three more punches at it, demolishing the monster. As she finished up on that foe, a fifth one tried to whack Fuu from behind, but the girl didn't budge. She glanced back at it with a menacing grin before grabbing onto its root as well. She pulled it in and gave the monster a nice headbutt followed by a knee to the eye before finishing it off with two well placed punches with her gloves!
As the body fell over, Fuu brushed her hands together, and looked down at her handy work. "Stupid plants..." The girl looked over to Suna who appeared to have wrap things up as well while holding an odd looking sword. "No I'm not good!" The girl claimed before fully turning to face the elf. "I'm amazing!" the girl claimed with a cocky grin, hands on her hips. "I guess you're cool as well." She added, gesturing at the shrooms she had beaten. "But only pansies use swords." Of course Fuu couldn't just give someone a compliment and leave it at that....
Hopefully Lydia does not find out about her little comment however.
The area felt calm and peaceful now. Fuu was able to focus more on the area with all of those monsters gone...and that disgusting smell. "Dear gods! What wreaks!?" Fuu covered her nose almost instinctively as she winced. The smell was awful, but she followed the scent anyway, looking around at the different bones and spores riddled around this cave. It would eventually lead her and Suna if she followed to a huge hole that appears to lead into another area. Looking over to Suna with her nose still covered, Fuu gave a somewhat reluctant nod before stepping in.
~~~~ Floor 2, Room 2
Stepping into this new area, Fuu noticed that the ground was starting to shake a bit. Looking around at the ground, Fuu slowly lowered her arms and as the shaking seemingly stopped, the earth mage realized that this area was a lot brighter than the last. Looking up, Fuu's eyebrows raised at the lack of ceiling, revealing the open sky above the tower. Taking a few more steps, Fuu had started to sweat more than in the first area. Wiping the sweat beads off her forward, the girl noticed steam rising up and as she looked forward, the girl saw a huge lake which appeared to be the source of this heat. Probably not wise to go for a swim in that...
"Woah..." She looked at the lake, and the area in awe. It was like she had stepped into the past...seeing nature in its primordial form. "Yo, check this ou-" Before Fuu could finish, her eyes narrowed as she noticed a figure dash past by some of the large plants. She then started to pick up on not one, but multiple mana signatures...and they were all around her and presumably the elf!
Ten reptilian looking creatures were surrounding the mages. "Holy shi-" Fuu looked around, not believing what she was seeing. "They really weren't kidding about the walking fossils..." Fuu said, her eyes beaming. How were these things still alive!? Didn't matter, as long as Fuu gets to thrash some ancient beasts! With that, Fuu rushed off at one of the beasts, causing five of them to do the same in return! With all five of those dinos running together like that, they ended up bumping into each other, sort of throwing them off of their attack which Fuu took advantage of without hesitance!
Fuu grabbed onto the jaws of one of them with both hands, and with a bit of struggling she managed to twist herself a bit to topple it over on its side! Another had attempted to take a bite out of Fuu, but with how close it was, she managed to dodge and punch it clean in the side of its face before following with an uppercut and two more well placed punches! The second beast was taken down but still alive. Fuu was just about to get a finishing blow in but she hesitated. She didn't feel right about killing these beasts of the past...plus they looked so cool. What if these were the last ones left? Fuu lowered her hand, but this gave the first beast enough time to get back up and bite down on one of the girl's arms. "Grr...agh!" The girl groaned, gritting her teeth. "P-piece of..." Fuu managed to punch the beat off of her and as it staggered back, she delivered three more punches which was enough to knock it unconscious as well!
The girl looked at her arm. It was pretty bruised, but it would've been so much worse if it wasn't for her mana skin. Of course the earth mage wasn't done yet. Hearing the low growls from behind her, Fuu turned to see three more of those beasts eyeing her down. Sinking into her battle stance, Fuu watched as they all rushed at her...moving pretty fast. "Woah!" Fuu was able to barely miss one with a well timed sidestep! She then had to drop to the ground in order to get away from the fourth one, and before the fifth one could get there, Fuu bounced back up to her feet and stomped on the ground. "Pillar!" Two pillars of stone rose up from the ground, one striking the fourth beast behind her, and the other hitting the fifth beast that was in front! They were both sent flying, but the third beast tried attacking Fuu again. It attempted to swipe at the girl with its claws, but she ducked it and punched the beast in the gut and followed up with three more punches in the same area, rendering it unconscious.
Fuu smirked and was now running at one of the final two beasts as it tried to get itself together. The dwarf punched the beast three times before it fell over. "One to go..." Now the final one on her end was rushing at the girl! Fuu hopped over the beast she had just beaten and threw herself onto the ground, causing the beast to trip over its comrade's body! It fell onto the ground next to Fuu, but the both it and the girl got up at the same time. With another roar, the monster rushed at Fuu and as it got close enough, the dwarf grabbed onto its furry side, and was now holding on for dear life as it continued to run! "Sl-slow down...will ya!" Fuu managed to fully climb up on its back and was now riding the beast...still holding on the best she could. "This would be crazy sick...If I didn't have ta pummel ya!" The beast stopped running and was now trying to shake Fuu of it like a bull!
Taking advantage of this, Fuu let go of the beast with her hands and punched at it twice from above before finishing it up by ramming her clasped hands down on the creatures head...causing it to topple over, making Fuu fall off.
Now on her back, Fuu was breathing fast, adrenaline pumping through her veins. "WOOOOHHH!" She rose her arms up before placing one of them on her chest. She then looked over to Suna to see how she's fairing.
(Killed the last five Snail Mushrooms on last floor) (Received JR damage from one of the snails) (Killed five Falks on current floor) (Received JR damage from one of the Falks)
Description: With her grimoire flipped to the right page, Fuu begins to draw on the mana of the earth around her, merging it with her own mana to strengthen her body to be as tough as stone itself. With this active, Fuu is able to ignore the damage of a single spell or attack of Junior or lower rank per post as well as ignoring the extra effects of damaging spells in general (courtesy of her Tenacious Body perk) once every five posts. If the attacker has +20 power to Fuu's durability then it will only half the spell's rank in damage, but if they have +30 then she will not be able to ignore the spell at all. (Tenacious Body will remain in effect however.)
With her grimoire flipped to the desired page, Fuu stomps her foot onto a solid surface while crossing her arms together, causing a pillar of of stone that is five feet in width to shoot up from the ground up to ten feet high within a twenty-five meter radius around her. If the target is struck with this, it will inflict blunt junior ranked damage as well as potentially send them flying two meters back (an additional 5 meters added every ten power gained) unless it rams them into a surface. Fuu is capable of forming an additional pillar per ten control gained.
It seemed like the earth mage could hold her own in her fight. "Oh." Suna was slightly taken aback at the praise. "Arigato. You’re cool, too." Well, it should not have come as a surprise, seeing how she fought back at Aristaeus’ Basin. "Pansies? Flowers? Only flowers use swords?" The elf scrunched up her eyebrows, not understanding. But she shrugged it off, thinking it as merely a language thing she did not comprehend.
As soon as they finished dealing with those snail-like mushrooms, the place fell into a peaceful lull. Only now did she see the small bones scattered all over the mossy ground. It looked like it was from birds or some other small animals. However, now her nose caught a less than pleasant stench in the air. Like Fuu, her hand was held over her face, though she had it there since the spores started flying. "Terrible smell." She agreed. "Let’s get out of here." With that, she hurried after the dwarf through a large opening in the wall on their right...
- Floor 2 | Room 2 -
...and to her dismay, the horrible stink only grew upon entering the next room. But it was momentarily forgotten when the ground beneath them shook. Suna’s hands flew out to steady herself, but then the shaking stopped. It was as if there were some major disturbances in the tower’s core...or was it because it sensed these two intruders? Probably the latter.
However, the elf caught a glimpse of the open skies, and a bright smile broke out on her face. Never mind the annoying buzzing of flies or shaking ground or strange creatures—all she needed was to see the clear blue sky, and her mood was lifted. Sure, she was sweating more profusely now, with all the hot steam rising from the heated lake, but she could see the sky.
There were also gigantic blue mushrooms growing all over the place, more so near the lake and near the tower walls. Unbidden, her hands went out to touch them, but she caught herself just in time. She snatched her hand back. What was she doing, touching strange plants without knowing their dangers like an idiot?
Then Fuu was rushing off at something she spotted, and the elf saw that they were not alone. Her mouth dropped open when she saw the furred reptiles come into sight. "Falkhasaurs?" She breathed. "Wow..." She could not believe she was coming face to face with one of these supposedly extinct creatures. Those small beaked predators were fairly harmless by themselves, but as a group, they were a force to be reckoned with. Those furry necks and retile-like tails—everything that the books said were true. And she was witnessing them with her own eyes. She was witnessing history.
A shout from the Green Mantis broke into her thoughts. Just as well, as she found herself surrounded by five mana beasts. Her hand tightened around Cadenza. What? Was she supposed to fight these pieces of history? These creatures were supposed to be extinct, for goodness’ sake! There was no way she was killing them...not if she could avoid it.
She swung her sword out, clearing an area around her. But then the small predators gathered back in, intent on overwhelming her. She will have to pick them off, one at a time. With the flat of her blade, she swung out and knocked it against the head of the closest one. Thankfully, it seemed to do the trick, with the now-unconscious creature crumbling down to the ground.
Her pure aura sword danced and arced around the elf. She managed to knock out two more, but had to slice at one of the more aggressive ones. It had gotten too close, and caught the edge of her blade. "Sorry." She winced when she cut through its furry neck, and it went down, truly dead. From the corner of her eye, she could see Fuu fighting her way through five of the same creatures. Such a pity that they had to die. If only they did not attack them first… Well, the guilt will come later, but there was the last one on her side to deal with.
It was the biggest one of the five she had to fight against, and it eyed her with a ferocity that rattled her. True, she had just knocked out its friends and killed one. It was only natural that it was enraged at her. It came at her with speed faster than her own, and Suna had just enough time to lift her sword, barely blocking those sharp claws that aimed out at her. She ducked when it tried to clamp down on her. Cadenza slashed out at its chest, slicing it through and out. Another wince. "I’m sorry." She whispered as it fell. There was a choking sound, then the light in its eyes dimmed and faded away.
Suna turned to see Fuu...riding on the back of one of those creatures? What a gal, riding the mana beast like it was a bucking bull in a ring. She watched in fascination as the Falkhasaur tried to throw its rider off its back, but the Magic Knight held on tightly, though it was tossed back and forth like a ragdoll. However, then the other girl punched it and they both went down.
The elf ran over to her. "Are you okay, Fuu?" She knelt by the dwarf, but was stunned to see the victorious smile and pose. "Guess you are." She smiled, then got up and reached a hand out to help the girl up, if she wanted to accept it. "Was that ride fun?" She waved her other free hand towards the dead creature. "It looked fun...though I feel bad for these Falkhasaurs. They’re supposed to be extinct, but here they are, still living..." Her voice trailed off. At least she tried to avoid killing them outright. Even if this was a parallel universe they were in, she did not want to kill them, knowing that they did not exist in their own world and did not want the same to happen here.
Then the entire tower shook once more. This time, the elf was not so surprised, but then there were a loud pair of roars that almost made her jump. "What was that?" Her head whipped around from side to side, azure hair flying. Even the humming of insects had stopped. But then activity resumed, and everything went back to normal. "Strange..."
Up ahead, she could see a small narrow path by the river. It seemed that they could continue their adventure via that route. There was also another way, climbing the trees, but the elf had not seen or thought of that possibility. It was up to the dwarf on which way she wanted to go.
"Ya damn right I am." Fuu added before noticing the hand being extended out to her. For a second it didn't look like the prideful dwarf was going to take it, but with a reluctant glance to the side, she held her hand out and took the elf's help, getting back on her feet. She then asked the earth mage a question that caused her eyes to beam. "Are ya kidding me? It was amazin-" Fuu then cut herself off, not realizing that she had her arms excitingly in the air until the last minute. She immediately lowered and crossed them, looking away in an embarrassed pout. "It was okay, I guess..." she claimed, before brushing a bit of her hair away from her eyes.
"Yeah..." Fuu muttered, glancing over to the downed dinosaurs. Fuu at least tried to keep some of the ones on her end alive, and just knocked them out. She showed a bit of restraint which is something Fuu rarely ever does. Even she was able to understand just how important it was to try and keep these pieces of history alive, but she knew that some of them had to die. It couldn't be helped. Fuu started to show hints of remorse and opened her mouth. She was just about to say something until the ground started to shake again, a lot more than before! "Wah!" The dwarf nearly fell over but managed to catch herself as loud roars boomed through the area!
"I dunno..." The girl looked around. "Whatever it was...it sounds huge." The two then took notice of two branching paths on the other end of this area. Fuu started to walk up to it to get a better look.
Fuu stared at the river path for a few seconds before biting her lower lip. "Yeaahhh I'm not going that way." She claimed as she pointed in that direction. Even though she knows how to swim, the earth mage isn't a big fan of water, especially after her last training session with Artemis. Plus...something didn't feel right about that path.
She then looked to the path covered in overgrown plants. That was up her alley. With a nod, Fuu marched into that area without saying a word, trying her best to push those pesky plants out of the way.
~~~~~Floor 2, Room 3 (Small Narrow Path)
"Gah, this sucks!" Fuu claimed as she continued to struggle with the plants. The dwarf found it hard to walk fast in this mess of lianas and plants. Plus there were even more of those damned mosquitoes! As Fuu pushed a branch out of her way, one of the pesky insects landed on her nose. The girl removed her hand from the branch and tried to slap the mosquito but not only did she just end up slapping herself again, but the branch she was holding had whacked her in the face as well, leaving a nice little red mark. "Raaahhh!" The dwarf was fuming now, being a bit more violent with the plants as she pushed on. At least there didn't appear to be any enemies here so there's that.
It didn't mean they were out of trouble just yet however...
As Fuu continued to move forward, the dwarf found herself tripping over a root, and as she attempted to keep herself from falling, Fuu held one of her arms out and it collided with some thorny plants, ripping into part of her sleeve and arm! "Agh..dammit!" Fuu grunted as she stood there and held her arm. It tore a bit of her mana skin...and from the looks of it her actual skin as well, leaving some scrapes that were bleeding.

(Received Jr. damage to Mana Skin from some thorns.)
Suna let her smile slip through. The dwarf’s excitement was just too adorable. "It looked like fun." She nodded once, referring to the question she asked about the Falkhasaur ride. The blue-haired mage had followed her small companion to the river, and she was able to sense something rippling under the water’s surface. She could not tell exactly what it was, but was glad when the Green Mantis found another way. Whatever it was, it felt huge and deadly, and would rather not fight it if it could be avoided.
- Floor 2 | Room 3 - (small narrow path)
Like Fuu, Suna started stepping through the small narrow path, pushing away the overgrown plants from her way. It really was such a hassle, going through these plants while avoiding the thorns, but she would prefer this over killing another possibly extinct creature.
"Gah, this sucks!"
Well, the poor girl was in front, and it was always the most difficult being the trailblazer. "You’re doing great, Fuu." Suna reassured her. Though honestly, by the time the dwarf got through a certain area, the pesky plants would have swung right back to their original places, so the elf still had to do her share of pushing away at those plants and lianas.
Then up ahead, she saw Fuu trip over a root, and try to steady herself. Suna winced as a thorn caught onto the girl’s arm and ripped open her sleeve and arm. "Fuu!" She rushed up ahead and looked at the wound. It was bleeding, but did not look too deep. She was certain that they would run into more monsters up ahead, so it would be a good idea for them to heal up before continuing on. "Wait, don’t move." She instructed.
If the dwarf would allow it, Suna would place her hands on the girl’s shoulders, and light blue puffs of aura would gather around her arm, healing the damage caused by the thorns. Sapphire Heart began to radiate in a calming blue glow, illuminating them both in a soft glow. In addition to healing Fuu’s wound, it also started to cleanse the two individuals from toxic poison they may have received earlier from the spores, as well as any mosquito bites.
"Almost done," she murmured. It would only take a few minutes for their wounds to be cleansed and knitted back up. Even she could feel the magic’s effects, as the itch from the bite she got earlier was slowly ebbing away. Compared to the other places, all was fairly calm and quiet on this path. No enemies seemed to be in sight, besides the pesky flies and mosquitoes. It was nice to catch a quick break before whatever may lie ahead.
It was a little strange, though, of how deserted the tower seemed to be. It was like walking back into a piece of history, where the earth was allowed to grow freely, untouched and unhampered by any external influence. All these overrun plants and wild animals gave the place a sense of freedom, of life before humans may have come along. Here, nature had the reins, and it was a beautiful world. Ever since stepping foot in this tower, she had felt in awe and a little overcome by it all. It stirred some unknown parts of her, entering this sacred space and being so connected with this beautiful world. It was almost as if they were the first ones in history to step foot here...
"So, what has been going on with the Green Mantis squad lately?" Suna asked curiously. She had heard about the daemon attacks, and also about the vice captain being held hostage or something like that. She only knew what was said in the streets, and was not sure of how true or accurate those pieces of information were. Hence why she asked the knight herself. She would most likely have a better understanding of what truly happened.

Gritting her teeth, Fuu glared at the thorns then at her bleeding arm. She looked like she was just about ready to kick the thorny plant's ass, but that would probably just do more harm to her than good. The dwarf then heard the blue elf shout her name, making her look back, just as she told her not to move. Feeling Suna's hand on her shoulder, Fuu rolled her eyes, looking a bit embarrassed. "It's just a couple of scrapes, lady. I don't need your hel-" Fuu stopped, taking notice of the puffs of smoke surrounding her injuries. A healing spell, but it appears to be coming from the elf's necklace. It didn't feel as powerful as the healing spell Lydia used on her, this spell felt more warm and nurturing...like a mother's gentle embrace.
Fuu looked so innocent as she watched the magic do its work and soon her scraps would vanish, healing her Mana Skin as well. With the spell done, Fuu slowly lifted her arm up, and slowly traced her fingers against where the marks were. "I...that was..." Fuu slowly lowered her arm. A warm smile was on Fuu's face, but as she looked at Suna for a couple of seconds, her smile faltered. "Those plants...shouldn't have been able to hurt me." The girl claimed before turning to face them. The girl tends to pride herself in being pretty durable...but more and more she was starting to realize just how wrong...and how weak she is. "Thanks I guess..." With that, Fuu continued to walk, making sure to avoid more of those thorns.
Suna then asked a question that peaked Fuu's attention, indicated by the brief rise of her head. "It's...okay." Fuu's eyes lowered some as she placed a hand against the side of her arm. "You know about Kikka right?" The girl stopped walking, but kept her back towards Suna. "Arte...my Vice Captain was there, and she was..." Fuu found herself at a loss for words, and started to bite her lower lip. "If I was there....things would've been different." Fuu claimed, but she then shook her head and let out a light pained chuckle. "Who am I kidding? Valo was there, and even he wasn't able to do anything..." Fuu muttered. "He's probably still at base, training...with those two outsiders. He plans on going back...and of course he didn't invite me..." Fuu's grip on her arm tightened. "Can't blame em. I'll probably just get in their way..." With that, Fuu went silent...
She then took a deep breath, and shook her head once more. "But screw all that noise!" Fuu suddenly yelled out, releasing her hand from her arm and now pointing forward. "We've got a dungeon to thrash!" With that, Fuu started to run, not just trying to run to the next area...but away from all of the emotional baggage she's carrying.
But she won't be able to outrun that for long...
~~~~Floor 2, Room 4~~~~
Fuu ran straight into the final area, and quickly stopped in her tracks at the sound of two very different yet menacing roars! Whatever it was, it sent dust flying towards the entrance and the young noble needed to shield her eyes with her arms. A strong wind would then pick up, rustling the dwarf's hair and clothes as well as blowing the dust away.
Slowly lowering her arms, Fuu would be gifted with the sight of a lifetime! Not one, but two giant predatory prehistoric creatures were in the center battling it out against each other! The earth mage didn't really recognize the avian one, but she was familiar with the other creature from a story one her parent's servants often told. "Is that a...freaking....Juvasaur!?" Fuu's eyes lit up as she tried to contain her inner fangirl. This beast strikes fear into the hearts of many clover citizens...but not Fuu. Given her personality...it made sense that she would love these sort of scary and destructive creatures! "This is so cool!" Fuu claimed as she started to fan herself.
At first, Fuu just stood there and cheered on the battle...mostly taking the Juvasaur's side, but soon the beast was able to overpower the Joatl and pin it down! "Wooooo! Rip its head off!!" Fuu shouted as she took her mantle off and waved it in the air. But just as the Juvasaur was about to go in for the kill, Fuu noticed an almost pleading and fearful look in the Joatl's eyes...or at least she assumes she saw that. This right here was the work of nature, whether prehistoric or not, and it was probably not wise to interfere...but those eyes and how it continued to struggle....it looked so weak and defenseless now...just like how Fuu has been feeling deep down.
With that, Fuu took her mantle and tied it around her waist this time. She then took a deep breath and yelled out"Heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy!!!" It was enough to catch the Juvasaur's attention, and it released its grasp on the Joatl...now facing the two mages. With a smirk, Fuu tossed her shirt off next, revealing a white tanktop underneath, and then threw her little headband off, causing her black hair to flow down, a little shorter than Suna's with a perfect blend of being messy yet clean. "Come get a taste of a real predator!" The dwarf gestured her arms out in a cocky matter.
The Juvasaur let out another ground shaking roar before charging at both mages. Fuu looked over at Suna and tugged at her Terra Gloves a little before giving her a nod. She then charged at the dinosaur herself, like the fool that she is! "Nature's Speed..." Fuu uttered, her grimoire glowing as a brown aura surrounds her, boosting the girl's speed a bit. She wasn't as fast as her foe, but it was enough to help if she made sure to time her movements correctly. As the two got closer, Fuu's grimoire would flip to another page. "Pillar!" The girl once again used her pillar spell, but not on the dino...but herself! She used it to send herself into the air and towards her foe.
Before it could open its mouth, Fuu gave it not one, but two mean punches to the nose!
The predator was forced back a little from the impact with its head pushed back a bit from the first punch while the second momentarily brought it down to one knee. It roared in a bit of pain as Fuu fell to the ground with one of her palms on the surface like one of those lame "superhero" landings.
What she just did was cool and all, and Fuu was very much proud of it...but it wasn't enough.
Before Fuu could properly react with her eyes now widened, "Oh shi-" the Juvasaur was able to quickly turn itself and swing its tail at the dwarf, whacking her hard with it and sending the girl across the room! She slid across the ground before coming to a stop, resting painfully on her side.
(Was INT healed by Suna, reverting Fuu's Mana Skin back to x1 Jr Damage) (Dealt x2 Jr Damage to the Juvasaur and looked badass while doing it) (Received Int Damage from the Juvasaur, knocking Fuu out of her Mana Skin and inflicting x1 Junior Damage to her Health)
Description: With her grimoire flipped to the right page, Fuu begins to draw on the mana of the earth around her, merging it with her mana to increase her speed. With this spell active, Fuu is capable of moving +2 m/s on top of being able to ignore the extra effects of damaging spells (courtesy of her Tenacious Body perk once every five posts).
With her grimoire flipped to the desired page, Fuu stomps her foot onto a solid surface while crossing her arms together, causing a pillar of of stone that is five feet in width to shoot up from the ground up to ten feet high within a twenty-five meter radius around her. If the target is struck with this, it will inflict blunt junior ranked damage as well as potentially send them flying two meters back (an additional 5 meters added every ten power gained) unless it rams them into a surface. Fuu is capable of forming an additional pillar per ten control gained.
If the dwarf had refused the healing—which was completely possible—Suna would have used a ranged healing spell instead. One could almost attribute that to an older sister’s bossy care, but either way, she had a feeling that they needed to be at their prime for whatever laid ahead. After she finished healing the Green Mantis, she had to stifle a laugh at the little girl trying to act all tough and such. She had no doubt that the earth mage would one day become much stronger than her, but for now, she let her be.
"I see..." She nodded slowly. "I heard that many bad things happened, but also some good things as well." Even though the girl’s back was towards her, Suna could hear the hurt in her voice. "Think of it this way: if you hadn’t stayed back in the Green Mantis base, who else could have guarded the base? Your vice captain would not have left the safety of the squad to just anyone, right? Because she trusts you."
Suna continued on, her voice soft but still loud enough for the other female to hear. "Besides, if it’s true that they’re going back, they would need someone trustworthy and loyal to make sure the daemons don’t attack the base. What if they came home and found nothing to come home to? Your protecting your squad is just as important as those who fight in the frontlines." Whether Fuu would take that or not was up to her, but the elf was convinced that the emotion could be diverted. But now, she hurried her steps to catch up with Fuu, who was running on ahead towards the final room...
- Floor 2 | Room 4 - (boss room)
As they entered yet another area, she heard the same set of roars from before. There seemed to be wind from nowhere, throwing up dust everything. But as soon as they cleared, the elf found herself staring at two legendary mana beasts. Being the nerd she was, she immediately knew the flying one as the Joatl and the land one as the Juvasaur. As if witnessing the extinct creatures from earlier was not enough, she was now in the presence of two of these ancient reptiles, just as awe-inspiring and impressive.
"Wow..." Even the earth mage’s exclamation showed her admiration for the mana beasts, although Suna did not know which one she was cheering on. She would have loved to study them if she had not realized that the two creatures were currently in a fight. A life and death match, it seemed. The fearsome titan had caught the sky predator, and now had it pinned down to the earth. The sound mage winced and closed her eyes, not wishing to see the final blow of death for the poor avian.
"Heeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyy!!!"
Her eyes flew open. "Fuu?" To her horror, the girl stripped off her mantle and top...and was taunting the Juvasaur! "What are you doing? Fuu!" It seemed like her cry fell on deaf ears. The earth mage was already involved, and the huge predator’s attention was now on her.
"Silly girl." She muttered, then hummed the pitch to summon her harp. As Fuu cast her spells, so did the sound mage. As she played, Ritenuto came flowing out like a river, and as soon as it came in contact with the creature, it surged up and aimed to bind it tightly. However, the Juvasaur easily broke free through it, although not before she had dealt some damage to it. The elf frowned. As long as they avoid the jaws, they should be fine. Should be.
The Green Mantis had gone right in and with one of her spells, shot up into the sky and gave the beast two punches on the nose. Even the way she landed back on the ground looked cool, Suna had to admit. Then she saw the tail swing towards her friend. "Fuu! Watch out!" Too late. The tail swung, and the dwarf went flying across the room. Suna’s first instinct was to run over to the hurt girl, but now the predator was looking at her. The elf glanced over at Fuu, wanting to run over to her, but knowing that she needed to deal with this mana beast. Fuu was strong. She would be fine for now.
Tremolo. Pure aura wove themselves into a circular half dome around the Juvasaur, and as soon as it was completed, Suna released her sound magic inside the makeshift aura prison. Her sound ricocheted within the confined area, the bouncing sound waves dealing damage at the mana beast caught in the spell. From the outside, there will be no sound. Just to make sure that the creature was defeated, the elf formed Cadenza in her hand. Then she slipped into her aura dome, silencing the sound waves and closing the area behind her as she did.
Azure eyes glowed as she entered the space. The Juvasaur was indeed dead. There was no need for her sword. "I’m sorry." She murmured, gazing at the downed creature. The blue-haired elf murmured something else underneath her breath, then allowed the aura walls to dissolve away.
She walked over to where she assumed the earth mage was lying, and laid her hands gently on the girl’s shoulder again, if she would allow it. Sapphire Heart began to glow and start the healing process again. If Fuu was going to protest, Suna would shake her head. "You can argue with me after you’re all healed up."
It all happened so fast! Fuu found herself skidding across the ground against her will with eyes widened. Her body had finally come to a stop, but it was badly scrapped from the impact. One of her arms were also fractured as well, not as bad as when a certain someone broke her leg, but it still stung like hell. "Ngh..." The earth mage slowly sat herself up with a pained expression. She gently placed a hand on her arm, gritting her teeth. Slowly raising her head up, the mantis knight saw that her predatory attacker now had its sights set on Suna.
"N-no.." Fuu tried to stand, but with a wince she fell back to one knee, her hair drooping over and covering most of her face. "Dammit..." The girl's body shook as she tried to stand again, but then she felt a sudden surge of mana coming from the elf's direction. Slowly peeking her head up, Fuu witnessed the summoning of a blue dome completely forming over the Juvasaur. This was definitely something Fuu didn't see the sound mage do before. The dwarf watched as the other mage approached the dome with that sword of hers, but it didn't look like she needed it as the massive beast had breathed its last breath, toppling over.
Fuu was at a loss for words. She didn't realize that the elf was this strong, but the girl was starting to see just how weak she truly is....
The earth mage sat back down with one of her knees up. She rested her hands on it before placing her chin on top, her wild hair covering her features once more. She could hear Suna's footsteps drawing closer, most likely coming to heal her. Fuu didn't try to protest this time as she felt Suna's hand on her shoulder. She kept quiet and stared at the fallen Juvasaur. Her body slowly began to heal, but Fuu's demeanor did not change. Fuu remained quiet for a bit, but after shifting her body a bit, she finally decided to speak up. "Guess if you weren't here, I'd be the one lifeless on the ground..." Fuu claimed before slowly gesturing her head towards the Juvasaur. "All that stuff ya said earlier...thanks." She then shook her head lightly, and started to play with her hair a bit. "But I'm not a kid. I don't need someone trying ta cheer me up with nonsense. I don't need to be pitied, nor do I want to." A tear would then slide down her face, most likely going unseen due to her hair.
"I came here...alone to try and prove myself wrong, but we both saw how that worked out...You're so much stronger, but you're not even a Magic Knight." A small sniff could be heard. "I-I'm...I'm wea-"
Suddenly, some loud shuffling could be heard.
Poking her teary face further up, Fuu noticed the Joatl getting back on its feet. The ancient avian predator looked over at its fallen adversary before shifting its eyes to the two women that took it down. It slowly walked its way over to the mages, each step making the ground shake. It eyed Fuu who had a mixture of fear and curiosity in her eyes. It then looked over to Suna. With a grunt, the Joatl exhaled out of its nose before turning its back to the girls. Spreading its enormously large wings, the creature took flight...but not without mysteriously dropping a few treasures behind. Whether this was intentional or not was up for speculation, but now signified the end of this madness...for now at least.
Fuu looked over at the treasures, and wiped the tears from her eyes. Normally, the dwarf would be very excited to see stuff like this, but now...she wasn't really up for it. "Lets just take these and go..." Fuu claimed before standing back up, going for her shirt and headband that she had taken off first. "I need to report back to base."
The dungeon has been conquered for now...but it didn't feel like much of an accomplishment...at least not to Fuu.
As the blue puffs of aura began to settle all over the dwarf, Suna breathed a small sigh of relief. Thank goodness they were both all right, although the other girl had gotten the worst of the wear. The blue-haired femme sat down on her heels, and for a few moments, there was peaceful silence. Then Fuu was giving her thanks. "You would have survived regardless of whether I was here or not." She gave a little shrug. Perhaps with a few more bruises and maybe more broken bones, but the earth mage was not the type to go down so easily. At least, that was what she thought.
For a second, the elf was slightly confused. "Who said you were a kid?" Perhaps it was her sisterly act that made it seem that way, but she could understand about the pity part. Then she heard a sniff. Aww, the poor girl. Being left behind, and now realizing how powerless she was...Suna had been there herself. At least Fuu had a squad to back her up.
"All right then, Green Mantis," she patted her shoulder and got up to her feet. "No more cheering up, no more pitying. But," she pointed at the girl’s arm, "just so you know, I’m not that strong. I’m not powerful enough to heal that fractured arm of yours, so you should go see a proper healer when you get back home."
Then there was shuffling, and the elf whipped her head back to face the Joatl, who was getting back up to its feet. Suna held her breath as it came closer. Its eyes were glowing, but not in malice. It grunted, then spread its massive wings and flew off, up towards the open skies. It had dropped behind some treasures, but like Fuu, Suna barely noticed it.
Silence had once again settled in the tower, and all danger seemed to have passed—for now. Suna nodded in agreement, then turned away so she could not see the dwarf wipe away the tears...though it was more for the latter’s benefit. For now, she would let the younger mage be. "Let’s go." She gathered up the loot and exited the tower. Once home, she would have to look up what those strange mushroom things are called.
