In this world, Magic is Everything. All people, all races, are granted with the power to perform mystical and magical feats via grimories, mystical tomes granted to each and every child on their 15th birthday. Those blessed by the mana can have their names written down in legend.

[attr="class","header"]BASIC INFORMATION
[break]
Your element and grimoire tier plays a large part in your character’s magic. Each element and tier will give its user an affinity boost depending on the affinity of its magic. [break][break] If an element has more than one affinity, then the player must choose one affinity at character creation, this cannot be changed afterward.
[break][break]
All elements derive in some way or other from the five base elements, Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Plant. These elements each have a corresponding affinity to a stat: Power, Control, Sensory, Durability, and Stamina, respectively. [break][break] These base elements grant the user a natural affinity bonus to one stat and how strong that affinity bonus depends on what tier it falls on. Depending on whether the element is of Copper, Bronze, Silver, or Gold tier the height of the user’s affinity bonus will be +1, +2, +3 or +4, respectively. The affinity bonus will be added to a player’s stats at character creation and then once again each time a grimoire is upgraded. [break][break] If you have the double element perk you will receive both of your element's affinity bonuses.

[attr="class","header"]Copper Elements
[break] Copper elements are plentiful in the world, although, copper element magic is considered weaker in the eyes of the nobility. While it is true they aren't the strongest out there, it is one of the most malluable with what they are able to do compared to other tiers due to their diversity of them. The only real limit for these elements is one's creativity. Below you'll find the copper elements and a short example of each. [break][break] Fire is one of the four base elements. It is not only favoured by the followers of Salamander but is also one of the elements found within the respected Vermilion family. It is known for not only its soothing and healing warmth but also its destructive and explosive power. The element could easily be used to create smoke flares, creating embers for cold nights while keeping low visibility or even getting rid of obstacles in the way due to its explosive nature. [break][break] Water is another of the four base elements and is favoured by the followers of Undine and is often found within the proud Silva family. Water is known as the source of all things liquid in this world, although, the magics may differ. Water mages are often known for things as simple as creating bubbles so a person might be able to breathe underwater to torrential tsunamis and whirlpools. There is a wide variety of differing water mage styles regardless of where you may find yourself in the world. [break][break] Wind is another of the four base elements and is not only favoured by the followers of Sylph but the aloof Krane family. The wind is known for being whimsical, free flowing, following its own path and its innate ability to sense things. The wind and other elements attached to it deal with the same general concepts of miasmas, wispy winds, whipping gusts and hurricanes. Due to the nature of the wind, it is able to have all sorts of aromas travel for miles. [break][break] Earth is another of the four base elements and is not only favoured by the followers of Gnome but by the firm Wilhelm Family. The earth element is known for its structure, sturdiness and its ability to endure onslaughts. Contrary to popular belief it is a rare sight to see an earth mage acting in a support role other than putting up shielding walls before dealing blows of their own. Earth mages are often seen helping rebuilding efforts after disasters due to how versatile the element is. From the rock or sandstone that can build defences, mud that could delay the enemies, clay that could make an army of golems to the dust, salt and sand that could blind a person. [break][break] Lightning is the elements of wind and fire work together and so are the source of lightning, due to this it has a lot of utility in and out of combat. Many people favour attacking with this element although it has been known to be used to curse people or even reinforce the mage due to its shocking, scorching and quick nature. Although often one of the elements seen within the Krane family although on rare occasions it is seen within the Vermilion family. [break][break] Wood magic is a broad spectrum element as it encompasses all kinds of wood that are available. It is one of the more uncommon elements seen within the Lilygatefamily. In recorded history wood mages have never really fit into any kind of stereotype or mould but this is due to each wood mage having their own unique style. [break][break] Cloth the broad spectrum of cloth magic is refined fabrics of all kinds. Whether they be silk, satin, cotton, wool or any other type of fabric. Cloth mages are a rarity but are respected not only for their skills but as many great mages of the past have been cloth mages.

[attr="class","header"]Bronze Elements
[break]
Bronze Elements now start to drift away from the broad spectrum that copper elements offer and start finding their niche in the world. Bronze elements are some of the most common elements available due to how many there are. [break][break] Song magic is rather unique in regards to other elements as it is performed through lyrics, sounds and music that your grimoire gives you rather than movements or a single phrase. Song mages are actually rather rare as very few people refine their abilities to their full potential. Like the songs, requiems and litanies they sing are different in styles so do the mages that perform them. Song mages are able to layer their voice with training (Junior: they are unable to add additional layers, Intermediate: 3, Senior: 5, Grand: 7, Archmage: 9) allowing for achapela and such, they are also able to create instruments if required for their spells. Please note that we are in a medieval / renaissance time period so more modern genres of song can't be uses (metal, heavy metal, tecno, synth etc) [break][break] Plant is seen as the unofficial fifth base element of the world, due to plant life covering the entirety of the world and requiring all four of the other base elements combined to thrive. This is often seen in the compassionate Lilygate family as they are known for using nature-based elements. Plant mages tend to favour a single aspect or plant type over any other and stick to it, although, this isn't always the case as you will see quite a wide garden variety of plants and flowers wielded by each plant mage. It has also been documented in the long history of plant mages that some may stick to plants that are poisonous or will only use poisons themselves. [break][break] Feather magic uses the feathers of varying avian birds regardless of species, many feather mages have found themselves looked down upon throughout history due to the daintiness and nature of their magic. What many people have failed to realize in that time is what has been used to sign business deals, alliances, declarations of war or even Sheppard peace treaties was a feather quill and it has been and remains sharper than any dagger in some cases. [break][break] Paper is a magic staple as unassuming due to its thin and flexible properties although people need to remember that grimoires have paper pages while scrolls can be made of either paper or papyrus. Many things require or use some sort of paper product, due to this these mages have a high utility and an even higher demand for the service they provide. This is another rarity found within the Lilygate family. [break][break] Ink magic usually appears as a black liquid, however, differing colours have been seen depending on the colour of the mana of the mage in question. Unlike water when lain down. This element usually goes hand in hand with paper, if they didn't much of history and knowledge would be lost to time. This is another magic commonly found within the Silva family. [break][break] Food mages are classed as walking buffets, the magic is even seen as a delicacy or speciality to some depending on what is created with it, while others don't trust it at all. To produce ready-made food is one thing but to weaponize or use it as support is another. Some see this as a true blessing while others see it as the downfall of civilization itself. [break][break] Sap is a magic often linked to trees due to its origin within nature. It is very sticky and so often used as a strong adhesive for tape or glue for things such as construction but it is also a good way to keep your enemies in their place or if solidified it makes a very good defensive wall. This is another magic found within the Lilygate family and on rare occasions within the Silva family.

[attr="class","header"]Silver Elements
[break]
Silver Elements are where the nobility and commoners are differentiated. Silver elements and the mana they hold are viewed as being favourable candidates for magic knights in this society. However, the nature of their elements makes them more niche in their spellcraft. [break][break] Ash magic is the control of what is left after the fire and embers have gone out. The magic is often not viewed in a good light due to the nature of ash and what it means in the larger picture of life. Then again, there have been a few bad apples that have wielded it in recent history which hasn't helped the image of ash mages. [break][break] Mist is made from the lingering water particles in the air. When it is condensed enough, it can be called fog which is good for obscuring the enemy's sight or keeping the presence of the mage hidden. Mist is a combination of wind and water so members of both the Krane family and Silva family have been known to possess this element. [break][break] Ice magic is water that has been frozen. In a completely frozen state, it acts more like the earth element as it is sturdy and can be used for things like walls or paths to get over gaps. It can even be used to freeze water due to how cold the element itself is. It does have a second state which is the loose form of ice in the form of snow allowing it to be more diverse in what it is capable of doing. These mages tend to be seen as oddballs in terms of water mages. [break][break] Glass magic is superheated sand that has been shaped and cooled. Many see glass as the building block of construction, although others believe it is too fragile to do such a thing unless it has been reinforced. Glass magic is able to almost become mirror-like allowing clever mages in the past to use this to their advantage. [break][break] Wax magic is what one would expect. It is what you find on the seals of envelopes or even the candles that are used in the evening, if it is a waxy type of substance then a wax mage will be able to utilize it in some form making them very versatile in most instances. [break][break] Shadow magic is exactly what you would expect. Where there is light there is a shadow to balance it. Shadow mages are able to use their own shadow as a staple of their spells. Contrary to popular belief shadow mages don't rely on the shadows around them to use their spells nor can they travel through them, much to the disappointment of many a young shadow mage. [break][break] Gem Stone magic is what one would expect it to be. Gemstone mages use all sorts of precious, semi-precious and common gemstones within their magic. This could be in their raw forms but is normally more refined as it is usually found closer to the noble region than anywhere else. This is an element often found within the Wilhelm family. [break][break] Tar magic is a viscous black bubbling most likely boiling liquid, that tends to cling to everything that it touches scolding them. It is due to this it is often used to slow its enemies or even as a distraction. Found more commonly in the Silva family it has been found on rare occasions within the Vermilion family. [break][break] Oil magic includes any kind of oil one may think of, regardless of whether it is for bathing, cooking, crafting or even for lamps, although, there have been people who have used it for their amusement more than anything by making their unsuspecting victims slide around. Oil magic has quite a broad spectrum and is quite chemical-based. This element has been seen used often by members of the Silva family. [break][break] Scribble magic is the almost like the middle child of the artistic mages. It isn't as crude or limiting as ink as it allows it to emulate the aesthetics of other elements, however, it can't do this to as many elements as paint as it can only manage elements of it's own tier or lower, though it is advanced it is unable to replicate the feel of them.

[attr="class","header"]Gold Elements
[break]
Gold elements are often viewed as being nobles' birthrights. Gold elements are so finely niche that many find it difficult to practice let alone master other forms of magic than what they have. However, there are golden tier elements that allow a much broader nature of a mage as well. [break][break] Lava magic is the more destructive cousin to the fire element, due to its reputation many believe it is unable to heal, create smoke or even cloak a person. This is due to people mostly using its qualities to bring about devastation. Many view those who have the lava element as powerhouses and so do their best not to upset them. This element is quite dominant inside the Vermilion family, although, it has been seen within the Silva family every now and then. [break][break] Metals mages use anything from the least expensive to the most expensive and refined metals in their magic. Those that are gifted with this magic are usually highly sought after by nobles due to the more extravagant and artistic methods used to create works of art. This magic, like gemstone, is often found closer to the noble region. [break][break] Mercury magic is quite unique in its ability to remain in a liquid-like state at room temperature although it is a metal. Even ice mages have a terrible time turning this element into its solid state but, of course, it isn't an impossible task to do so. It is one of the most common elements to find within the Silva family. [break][break] Bone magic is one of the more morbid elements a mage can possess and the mages are often looked at with disdain due to the overall connotation surrounding it. Some people can see past this and look at the beauty that can be carved into or painted onto a bone. Due to everything having a skeleton the element has quite a broad spectrum. Many great physicians and dentists have been or had the aid of someone with bone magic. [break][break] Blood magic is yet another element that is looked upon with suspicion and those who possess it are generally looked down upon by the general populace. To some, blood magic is seen as nothing more than a bad omen and its wielders are seen as harbingers of disaster. There are those who see the other side of the coin and the good it can do when people are in a life or death situation and there isn't a mage capable of healing around. Though they don't like to speak of their black sheep this element has been recorded to be found inside the Silva family. [break][break] Pure aura magic is a very unique and versatile in the amount of utility it has. This magic is a non-element, this means that the mages use their raw mana to craft their spells. It is often said you can tell what kind of person a pure aura mage is due to the colour of their mana. Due to how vastly different pure aura mages are said to be from each other, it is said that you are more likely to find two snowflakes with the same pattern. [break][break] Scales magic is another unusual one. Scale mages have quite an arsenal at their disposal as they are able to create scales of any animal that has them regardless of if it is a noble dragon or the most common corn snake. Where many may struggle to find a way to use this magic offensively it isn't impossible, many mages have taken a more defensive stance if blessed with this element. [break][break] Acid magic is quite the dangerous one as it deals with the eroding factors that can often take years to happen in an extremely short time. This element can easily eat its way through skin, bone and metal as if it was nothing more than rotted wood. Acid has two forms, the first being a liquid form and so often found within the Silva family but there have been records that it has been found in a gaseous form seen within the Krane family although this is said to be extremely rare. [break][break] Carbon Matter magic is said to be the building block of creation for many different reasons, although, some scholars would argue the fact until their final breath. Carbon is a highly durable material that can be used in a multitude of ways. It doesn't matter if it is offensive, defensive or even utility a skilled carbon mage will have the right tool for the job. They truly are the swiss army knives of the magical world. This magic is often found within the Wilhelm family.

[attr="class","header"]Misc. INFORMATION
[break]
Double element mages are able to use two elements. Not that these elements comingle, merely they can exist in tandem. For example, you would not have a fire and ice double element make water magic. Instead, you would have ice on fire! or could use them independent of one another [break][break] Elemental Oddity mages are ones with their element given the nature of another element an example would be: water with a salt oddity making brine. Paint and Scribble along with other platinum elements can not be taken as an elemental oddity.
