Tora let out a soft 'Phew' as she finally found the damn place again. The trip itself had been, to say the least: rather exhausting to find this place again. Of course her initial foray into the area of the Tower had been..... well whatever it had been, she had to admit that at least it was easier to find it a second time. For a wandering citizen like herself, it felt almost comforting that as she managed to force her way through those howling winds and the roaring sand that protected the place, that when it was finally fone screaming and blasting sand around her, that she saw that standing obelisk once again, brushing the grit and dirt from her outfit before staring up at that towering monument to the past. She peeled the scarf from her mouth and took a breath of clean air, furrowing her brows as she took but a moment to eye the place up and down. Even the second time around....this place was sortof amazing to say the least. But all the same she winced, rubbing the back of her head.
She had to admit, the place must have been pretty bad. She thought back, and struggled, trying to remember the first run through the place. She knew she'd managed to get through it, but it still was....fuzzy. She had hit her head pretty hard amidst the journey. And truth be told, she had enjoyed it. Even as her head stung a bit, she found herself grinning as she felt her muscles starting to tingle a bit as she recalled the journey, or rather, basked in the tension that strung through her body as she watched the place. It was a challenge. One that she'd struggled to get through on her own before. Even now, she remembered that fuzzy sort of face.... the vaguery of the woman who had helped her through that place. Well, it was unlikely she'd get such a capable mage to help her this time around. She dropped her back and crouched, looking through her things, and making sure she hadn't lost anything in he storm. A bit of dirtied up fruit, and a bit of tack that probably needed to be brushed off before she ate it. but it all seemed to be in order. She couldn't help but sigh and glance up at the glaring sun above. It was still pretty early in the day, if she focused, she might be able to get out of this before nightfall. The thought brought a chuckle to her throat as she slung her bag back over her shoulder and stood up. Just as she did, she paused, glancing over her shoulder. The woman was, by all accounts, pretty tall, but even she couldn't really see over the rubble that surrounded the tower. Her eyes sweeping the area for a moment as she felt a slight tingle in her senses. Was someone else approaching the tower as well? For half a moment, she was almost a little excited. Someone she could help through the tower? Well, no probably not. Regretably, she didn't know if she'd be able to remember enough of the place to guide anyone through. That only served to further mtoivate her to really kick this damn dungeon's ass this time around.
"Anyone there?" She called out into the raging sands. She actually kinda wondered if anyone would be able to hear her through all of that. Not to mention the possibility that she could jus be shouting into a great big ol nothing. She almost felt silly, if she were the kind of woman to feel silly about that kind of thing. she managed to smile a little despite herself and let her gaze turn back to the entrance of the dungeon. Eyeing the vines that covered the entrance. THAT at least she still remembered, and she rubbed her chin. It might benefit her to get herself some kinda weapon when this was all said and done, save herself having to go and use a spell for this kinda thing in the future...
[attr="class","textie"]Vulkan was bored...Well bored wasn't quite the word for it, it was simply another sleepless day for him, the night before he had spent training again only getting a few hours of sleep. Then after reading some reports that were kept within the Golden Dawn base he had heard about this sort of hidden tower out in the middle of nowhere. So he set off to find it, since he was traveling on foot rather than using one of the spacial mages within his squad it took a much longer time for him to arrive. Though considering how little he slept he made decent time. Though it appeared this tower wanted to keep others out of it as it was surrounded by a blistering sandstorm. The winds howled, and cried out against him as he made his way across the dust storm, with no real direction of where he was going.
Shielding his face with his tattered Golden Dawn cloak he arrived at some strange ruined place. Gazing upon it, it seemed that nature had swallowed this once glorious design, and it almost made him feel a pang of pity for it. That was when he heard a strange voice, something that he didn't recognize calling out asking if anyone was there. Had someone else come to claim this tower, or to explore it like he had? With a shrug he continued forward, and came across a woman that was large. Almost amazonian in height she was just a smidge taller than him, but only barely.
"I am here..." his voice was soft, and emotionless as he spoke to the white haired woman. "Are you here to explore the tower as well?" he tilted his head curious as to what she would say to that question, and he noticed the vines in front of him that were obstructing his path.
The heat he radiated naturally would fill the air around the woman almost like a comforting blanket, or perhaps she would dislike the heat, and it would instead be stifling to her. A tattered golden dawn robe rested around his shoulders, long silvery hair framed his face, and kept his ears hidden. Teal eyes looked upon her with slitted reptilian pupils, to say that he didn't look like most would be correct. Vulkan was very distinct for many reasons from the fact that he refused to get a new robe, all the way over to the silver hair that marked him as his fathers son. There were no weapons on his person, and he seemed to not care about the girl near him one way or the other.
"I did not realize that someone else was going to be here...Hmmm..." he seemed to lose himself in thought for a moment reaching up to tap his chin lightly. "However I suppose it can't be helped as places like this house treasure usually..." he seemed to speak absently almost more to himself than directly to her.
Despite the fact that he didn't sleep much, he seemed to show no signs of fatigue at all, and he didn't seem at all wary of the woman before him. Whether he sensed her as a threat or not, didn't really matter she seemed friendly enough since she was asking if there were others nearby. In his experience people that were up to no good didn't necessarily try to make small talk first. Well unless they were trying to lure him into a false sense of security to catch him off guard, but that hadn't happened in a while. So he hoped she wasn't one of the ones that was going to try to bury a sword in his back, that would be unfortunate.
A brow quirked slightly at the sight of the .......strange male. Who was this guy? Why was he soooooooooooooooo, spacey? Beyond just the strange reptile-person appearance (Mostly in the eyes, but still that vacant look did sortof match as well), the smaller male seemed to be strangely....airy about how he behaved. Almost as if he were only half-awake as he reacted to her presence. He seemed particularly blasé about the whole situation. He almost seemed bored to be here, but then again what she had rather quickly ascertained from the Magic Knights is that a good number of them didn't even really care for their work, so it was possible that he was just here on some mundane assignment. She had no delusions of grandeur, and was aware that even her own ...dynamic magic, was still more or less on the first chunk of the totem pole. This Mage knight, very likely, was in some way superior to her. "HAhaha! Sorry but I'm not really lookin fer any treasure here! Got me more of a ....achedemic fascination!" She chimed with a big grin, giving the man a firm pat on the back before she turned her attention to the vines and rubbed her chin. Ugh, she suddenly had a moment of deja vu. She'd completely forgotten her earlier intention to get some kind of weapon before she attempted to tackle one of these things again, and she cursed under her breath.
"Don't suppose ya got somethin to get rid of those vines eh? Don't exactly got it myself unless I wanna use up a spell..." she sighed lightly and eyed the tower. "an now that I think of it. Gonna be a pain gettin through the first area. What was it.... ah remember treadin real heavy.... grh..." She frowned and shook her head, rubbing the top of her skull for a moment and sighing. "Somethin about .....the floor? Apologies bucko, got a bit of a knock on the head the last time I passed through this place. You ever been through here?" She ventured with a tilt of her head towards the floaty-voiced man. Seeming entirely comfortable simply sliding into a conversation with him despite the fact tht they were complete strangers, her attention mainly on the tower as she wrestled with her memory of the place.
[attr="class","textie"]He listened to the woman explain what she was actually doing there, he was mildly interested considering the fact that she wasn't after any treasure, and instead seemed to just want to study them. That was an admirable course of action, he wondered if she was part of another squad, but the fact she wore no mantle told him all he needed to know about that. He wondered what was going to be here that would be so interesting for someone to study, though it was a giant tower in the middle of nowhere so he supposed that was good enough to come check it out, and see what laid in wait. The vines posed no barrier to entry for him, and when she asked him if he had a way through them he simply nodded to her.
"I do...Give me a moment." At that his grimoire flared to life, the golden book glowing with power as he extended his hand to grasp an imaginary weapon. "Lava Creation Magic: Volcanic Knights Lance..." came the words from his lips as a lance made of pure lava formed out of thin air, and he gripped it.
Extending the weapon he simply swiped at the vines as if they were made of paper to him, and watched as they burned to nothing in front of him, and his companion. A lazy yawn left his lips, he truly needed to get some actual sleep at some point, but today was not that day. Falling asleep in this place was probably not a good idea though he didn't think there was anything in this place that could actually hurt him. Keeping his lance in his grip he turned back to the slightly taller woman, and tilted his head to her.
"Shall we go inside then? If the first area is a problem I am more than sure we can handle it...Besides if you hit your head in here before perhaps you left some things behind. It would be good to go, and find them since you seem to be suffering from some memory loss...Ah no...I've never been here before this will be my frist time." he explained to her, and then without hesitation just walked right inside. Heeding her slight warnings about treading something heavy, and her warning him about the floor.
He had no idea what the warnings meant, but he continued to walk through until he came upon a large round room. Cracked walls let some light bleed through illuminating what appeared to be a swamp to him, or some other kind of marshland. It was incredibly hot in here, but he didn't fazed by it, after all he produced heat all the time. It would be unbecoming for such a lower intensity to bother him. Not treading further yet as he waited for his companion to catch up to him, there didn't seem to be any tricks to place, but he knew better than most that looks were deceiving.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Volcanic Knights Lance Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Senior | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 80 meters | 40 m/s Mana Cost: 30 | 15 Stats Effected: +6 Power Applicable Perks: Apex Predator Description: The version of this spell that he uses most often for the sheer power that it can produce, and it's utility in combat. If he uses it as a projectile, and it misses he can retrieve it by having the Lance fly back to his hand as long as he is within the spells range. This spell deals Senior Rank damage, and inflicts severe burns on those that come into contact with it. For every 30 control that he has he can create an additional lance to use.
There was something a little....off about the man. For one she was a little perplexed as he went out and spoke the name of his spell before casting it. Strange, but she didn't bother with it too much. What was MORE concerning was the sort of airy far-off sort of demeanor that shrouded the man. He almost seemed like he wasn't even focused on where he was! The way he cleaved into the vines and then waltzed in, she followed behind him for a moment as the two entered the very first room of the tower. She shielded her eyes for just a moment as she took in the sights around her. It was very warm, but then she remembered a lot of that at least. She looked up at the light filtering in through the cracks as well as the smooth manner of walk to the other side. However she DID pause as she looked around and of course she spotted them. Not people but....objects. Shields. Swords. Broken and bent in many ways, as almost all of it was quite useless. BUT, all of it did show that stuff was just....littered about. "Ah course!" She suddenly blurted out! Grinning from ear to ear, she promptly scooted, skirting around the edges of the place and lightly taptapping the ground with her foot before she swayed, almost falling as the dirt sunk a little at the front of her foot, making her stagger back just a bit before she re cognized the edge. She pulled a knife out and gently pressed, slowly feeling for the edge of that sinking stuff before she finally drew a line where the floor started to sink a bit. She then stood up, grinning from ear to ear, proud of her ability to properly recall.
"Ah remember this place! Big ol place wit nothin but a whole lotta junk. Ah remember wondrin what it was and then we stared sinkin! Don't remember how we got out, but ah remember thinkin this stuff probably is a buncha stuff was too light to sink ta the bottom!" She deduced, crouching down and prying a rusted and overgrown shield from the ground and the ntossing it onto the edge of the ground. She furrowed her brows and rubbed her chin. "Now ah just gotta remember how we got through it... Ah remember it was rough fer me to actually get done through. Too thick. Maybe we kin climb around it?" She murmured as she eyed the vines that grew along the innards of the place. Scanning along the area before looking to the staircase on the other side. She glanced at the man and chuckled just a little. "Don't suppose ya kin grow wings, can ya?" She chuckled as she let her hand rest on her hip and she made her way to the edge, lightly tugging a bit at the vines and such. They seemed sturdy enough to bear weight at least. Some of the leaves were stripped off the bottoms. Did people try pulling themselves out by them? If so then they should be sturdy enough to use to climb across.... She looked over her shoulder at the strange tranced out man she'd come in with. Vaguely wondering if he had the strength and fortitude for that kinda thing. Surely he must? He was one of those magic knights right? It should be no problem.
"Well, from what ah kin see. We just use these vines to climb over ta the stairs. Should be smooth sailin from here. Ah don't remember any monsters hangin round here. So ah think it's just the sinkdirt we gotta worry about." She reasoned to him as she promptly grabbed a fine and hauled herself up. Giving herself just a bit of clearance from the floor before her attention shifted over to Vulkan with an encouraging smile, offering a hand to the man if he needed any assistance in getting up on the vines.
[attr="class","textie"]He listened to the woman intently as she began to explain that this entire room was essentially one giant sinkhole. It would slowly drag you down to the bottom, and suffocate you until you were like the remains of those around here. Nodding at her as she explained he let go of his lance, and let it continue to float around him for a brief moment. When she asked him if he could grow wings he thought about it for a moment. To his knowledge he possessed no such spell, but it was something he would give some thought later on. Having a quick way to travel would be a large boon to him, it would beat walking, and certainly would reduce the number of times that he had to rely on the spatial mage that resided within the Golden Dawn.
"Unfortunately I do not possess such a spell, my apologies on that, we will have to cross like the others." he stated to her, and as she gripped onto the vines he followed suit. The lava lance trailing behind him as he sidled along making sure to keep a tight hand on the lifeline that was presented to them.
She mentioned that there were no monsters around in this room which was good considering he didn't know how strong they might be, but from what he could tell, there wasn't very many strong presences in this place. The journey across the vines didn't take very long as he, and the woman seemed to be in good physical condition. It appeared that she had been through here before so he was curious as to what other potential information she would have.
"Since you have been here before...Is there anything else that you can recall to make our walk here less fraught with peril?" he wasn't exactly worried for his own safety, more so hers. She wasn't as strong as he was, he could tell that much, and while he figured he could protect her, the more information he had the easier that task would be. "If not that is not a problem, I just like knowing what I am up against is all." His voice still contained little to no emotion as he spoke to her, and it was still slow, and measured.
He didn't wish to press on further until she had answered his question so he was waiting at the entrance to the next area of the tower. Despite his waltzing in from before, he was being a tad more cautious here, a room with a sinkhole that they would have to escape through meant that their only means of escape rested on a single life line. It was not something he was keen to just jump into this time. After all if what lay before them was a strong enemy it meant that he would be the one fighting it off more than likely while he bought time for the lady to escape. That is what Magic Knights were suppose to do after all, save lives.
The journey around the majority of the room was fairly easy, nothing too strenuous given they could dictate the pace well enough without much worry. As they finally reached the base of the stairway up to the second floor she let out a sigh of relief, rubbing her face for a moment and glancing behind them at the practical droves of items and belongings of people less fortunate than they had been. It was a wonder that this place had so many of them, just how popular WAS this place? All the same, her attention shifted briefly to the lance created by the man, her brows knitting together just a bit. Some sort of liquid fire? She'd never seen magma or anything like it before, so it was a little intriguing to say the least. "I dunno. There's a couple forks ah think. I jus don't remember which ways....I DO remember havin a lot of little critters runnin around though." She murmured, folding her arms for a moment as she stepped halfway up the stairs and then glanced over her shoulder in the direction of the mage. "We jus gotta be careful. Nothin really was too big of an issue. From here on ah don't remember much except monsters." She pinted out.
Of course she wasn't certain... not only that but there was also the possibility that they wind up taking the route she hadn't taken before. "Still....maybe we aughta go a bit on tha slow side just in case." She reasoned, idly shuffling a deck of cards in her hands, which was actually fairly simple to do with one hand given her size, gently cutting, and shifting the cards around in her palm like some sort of tic. After a moment she clapped her hands, the deck vanishing before she grinned in the man's direction. "gotta say, even with mah memory loss this is kinda fun! Nice havin someone ta rely on me! Haha!" She chuckled, clearly amused and entertained despite the potential mortal danger the place presented.
All the same, the two would, eventually, make their way up to the second floor.
Room 1 and Floor 1 Cleared 2ND FLOOR
As she entered the next area, she paused at the very top of the stairs. Her brows furrowing just a little as she took a moment to look around. The area was not dark, but it was filled with vegetation, and she put a hand to her lips as she recalled the monsters here. It was fuzzy, but she DID remember them what with how different they were to everything else in this place. She took another few steps and paused as she spotted them. They were all lounging around. Big, ugly egg-shaped.....things. Some could argue they vaguely resembled some kind of fungus. But honestly Tora was not particularly inclined to consider them as much. "Alright bucko. Let's get this party started~" She grinned, flicking her hand to the side, two cards flicking into existence into her hands from her grimoire before dissolving and promptly wrapping her body in magical card energy. Long black dragon tattoos snaked along her body from her lower back to encircle her frame and weave up the length of her spine. Reinforcing her body as a long Pudao formed in her hands as she stepped up to the top of the stairs.
Fairly quickly, the group of Snail mushrooms turned in their direction, hissing loudly. Ten of them to be specific. Several of them were further back , while the rest were quite close. It was the five closest to her that she intended on dealing with. A grin creeping across her features as she watched them start to move in, long vine-like tendrils spilling out of their bodies, ready to launch at the pair. And at this point, Tora performed a quick thrust! Two sleek dark dragons promptly erupting from the length of her spear!
As the other three closed in a menacing GRIN spread across Tora's face. The normally kind and gentle woman seeming to take a rather gleeful approach, as if relishing the notion of combat! All the same, even faster than the dragons launched from her spear, Tora SPED right past them, just barely faster than the projectiles with her boosted speed as she launched herself toward the group! Dodging to the side and then ducking down, she avoided three groups of tentacles that lashed in her direction, lowering herself down to the ground and then twisting in a wide sweeping SLASH! That Pudao swept around her body in a vicious spin as the woman twisted to cleave the monster she was rushing past. That weapon ripping clean through two of the monsters as those dragons plowed through another two of the beasts just a moment later before breaking apart and dissolving into nothingness.
The final snail mushroom of the forward group spread it's tenatcles out a bit, fanning them around it's body with a hiss, as if to create some sort of net to catch the speeding woman. But of course, she charged at it regardless, and just before she actually reached it, she swung, and threw the spear the rest of the way, plowing the weapon clean through the center of the weird, creepy eye in the center of it's body. The creature screaming and hissing loudly as it stumbled ondo it's back from the weight of the weapon making the impact before it slowly began to wiggle to a stop and go limp as it died from the injury to it's central mass. All the same, Tora pried the weapon from the creature's corpse and then grinned in the direction of the monsters that were still let to come. Her energy still very amped up from the high she seemed to get from combat. "Think you can handle the rest?" She called over her shoulder to her companion, clearly ready to dive into the remaining monsters if he didn't seem up to the task.

[attr="class","textie"]The female near him mentioned that she was having trouble remembering everything that was needed, which was fine by him. As they ascended up to the next floor, she talked about how there were some small creatures that they would more than likely run into, and he had to wonder if they would pose any real threat to him. So he kept pace with her not speaking much as they went into the next area, though he tilted his head at her remark about it being nice to have someone to rely on her. He wondered why that feeling would bring a normal person joy.
"That is curious...You enjoy helping others?" he asked her in that same emotionless tone, as the lava lance drifted just over his shoulder as the walked along. "I thought only Magic Knights thought like that...Though I've not mingled with many others before..." he explained softly as they reached their destination. The rock like walls were still around them, but he could see the light ahead with mounds of vegetation growing nearby. As they began to enter the room he saw strange looking fauna scattered about, they were snail like in appearance.
He didn't think much of it, but the large amazon woman without a second thought launched into a very impressive flurry of attacks. Summoning a spear with her magic she seemed quite adept at dispatching enemies. He seemed to not be concerned with the five that were slowly approaching him trying to look threatening. Without turning to face them he waved his hand, and a pit of lava that was twenty meters wide, and twenty meters deep ripped open from the floor, and swallowed the five creatures whole. Like a hungry maw that had been starved for centuries it swallowed them all. The smell of burnt plant, and flesh filled the air as the creatures were slowly dissolved by his magic.
When she had turned to ask him if he was going to be okay handling the rest he looked back at his handy work, and nodded at her.
"Yes I believe that I am..." there was no malice in his tone, just matter of factness as he walked to stand beside her looking out into the large place that they were headed towards. "If those creatures are a measure of what is going to be coming for us, we needn't worry to much about what lays ahead." he said tapping his cheek lightly as the lava bubbling in the pit behind him slowly drained away, but the large hole remained. If she went to look for the remains of the enemies she would find none, such was the nature of his magic.
It seemed like he was waiting for her to continue onward since she knew this place much better than he did, but he was rather curious about her magic. He hadn't seen the entire spell so he had no clue where the spear had come from, or even what other properties it had. His lance increased his power when it was in use, but he wondered if her spell functioned similar.
"I have heard of Sword magic...Do you possess Spear magic?" he seemed genuinely curious for the moment as he continued on past her, and into the next area of this fungal jungle. As they walked up the enclosed area they were in began to completely open up, until before them lay a vast jungle. It was incredibly hot, hotter than the swamp, and the previous area had been by a large degree, but he wasn't bothered by it.
Not in the slightest, and as they continued to get closer to the source of the heat he saw a vast lake out spread out before the two of them.
Entering Room 2
Steam wafted in the air around the two of them, and drifted into the sky like lazy clouds disappearing from all vision. Mushrooms that were dyed a deep blue loomed overhead menacingly, and it seemed that in this area the top of the tower was just missing. It was what probably allowed the lake to stay full with occasional rain. Though to his eyes this was like a self sustaining ecosystem. With the steam created from the lake rising into the sky to form clouds, and then getting heavy enough to produce rain, it caused the flora to flourish to gargantuan proportions. He could feel the thrum of a volcanic heart here, just like his magic...Is this what his power could potentially do?
He had always thought that his magic was merely destructive, but here it was providing so much life, was this something that he would be capable of, one day? A million thoughts rushed through his head as he just marveled at the place unaware of the creatures that would soon be coming to greet them.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Lava Pit Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Intermediate | Attack Creation Range & Speed: 40 meters | 20 m/s | 20 meter AoE Mana Cost: 20 | 10 Stats Effected: N/A Applicable Perks: Apex Predator Description: Perhaps one of the more brutal spells in his arsenal. With this spell Vulkan channels his mana to the ground in the designated area causing it to bubble, and rip apart until a small chasm filled with lava opens up underneath his opponent. The chasm in question affects an area that is 20 meters in diameter, and is 20 meters deep. Falling into this is not advised. Immediate contact causes severe second degree burns, and deals intermediate damage to everyone, and everything caught in it. For each post that someone remains within the pit they take a further Intermediate damage, and their burns worsen. If this spell clashes with another attack creation spell, the lava will be dispersed, but the 20 meter hole will remain. For every 20 control that he has Vulkan can create an additional Pit.

Tora couldn't help but raise her brows a little in response to the terrible fate of the monsters. Her heart was closed to the suffering of monsters, particularly monsters that had been lounging in the carcasses of small animals and, if she was not mistaken, a few adventurers. But all the same, she couldn't help but be a bit surprised by the manner in which they had been dispatched. What WAS that stuff? Her father had mentioned some sortof liquid fire in the past, but he'd said that it was actually just very hot rock. Was that what the man was using? All the same, the man seemed just as curious about her own magic as she was of his. She glanced at her weapon for a moent before she managed to chuckle a bit, grinning as she did as she promptly opened her hand, a card produced in her palm before she flicked it in the man's direction, it flew quite uncharacteristically, and stopped in the air before floating into his hand. It was a Madiao card. And on the face of the card was a man wielding a spear just like her own.
"Nope~ My Magic is cards! When my father found out, he brought me a deck from a foreign land. And he taught me how to play~ That is Shi Jin~ The "Nine Tatood Dragons". He was named because of his dragon tattoos." She smiled and pointed to the curved tattoos that curently marked her body. "It's an old and foreign tale~ The 108 Stars of destiny~ He was known to wield a spear like this. And so, I can too~ Of course there's many like him~ Lei Heng, the Winged Tiger. Xie Bo, the Twin-tailed scorpion~ Li Jun the River Dragon." She rattled off, flipping cards through her hands, showing him each of the respective figures before clapping her hands together, making the cards vanish. "Thirty Six Heavenly Spirits and Seventy Two Earthly Fiends~ My father always said I'd make a wonderful general when I grew up. So he wanted me to have an army. He was always fond of helpin people, especially me. Must be where I get it from." She chuckled, following along as they slipped into the next room.
She eyed their surroundings and shook her head appreciatively. For all of the danger it presented, the place was beautiful to say the least. Her attention shifted to the jungle around them. And the sight of a pair of eyes suddenly alerts her. She tenses up just a little as she lets her eyes dart around, spotting similar figures slowly circling around them. She remained calm, still smiling as she gently nodded in the direction of a particulrly massive blue mushroom. "Right there. Next to that mushroom. Seems like we got ourselves some fans come to greet us. Ain't never seen somethin like that. Don't suppose you're familiar?" she asked. Unliked the things from before, these things had yet to attack, but seemed in theprocess of surrounding them. She was on her guard, but they seemed much more intelligent than the little spiral fungus they'd killed down below. But that weird colorful fur sortof caught her eye and she held off on charging them just yet. No need to go running into combat if there was some way around dealing with these....things.

[attr="class","textie"]The woman spotted the creatures, but he had already sensed them, when she asked him if he knew what they were he nodded. How could he not know, Vulkan spent a majority of his childhood reading books, and stories. These creatures were often used in place of dragons in those stories, but they were suppose to be extinct, however here they were before him in the flesh. It was a pain to say the least, and he made a small "tch" noise between his lips. It was a very troublesome problem that they were running into, he could obliterate them with his magic, but to see them here in what seemed to be a replica of their habitat he didn't want to kill them. These weren't like those snails, this was truly a creature thought to be gone, but now stood before him.
"I am a bit...I read stories that contained creatures like this before...They are suppose to be extinct, so I do not know how they got here..." he tapped the side of his cheek as if contemplating what to do. "It would be a shame to kill them, we can however get by them without them bothering us. However it is going to require me carrying you...My magic does not necessarily play nice with others." he explained to her simply.
The mages one flaw was that his magic was a bit uncontrollable at times, he didn't have the proper control to differentiate between friend, or foe with some of his stronger spells, and thus he typically avoided using them for the most part to keep his allies safe. Only when he was alone did he truly let loose, but in situations like this there were ways around it. His grimoire flared to life as he uttered the spell forcing his magic to life. At the same time his lance dissipated it had no more need for the time being with the stronger spell he was using.
"Lava Creation Magic: Armor of Abraxas..." the soft tone of his voice drifted into the air as he was soon consumed by lava. It formed over his body into a very heavy set of draconic looking armor completely obscuring his face, and other features from his companions view. The heat that radiated off this armor would be scorching to everything nearby, though it didn't seem to deal any damage.
The woman, and the creatures would find that their movements had been significantly decreased, to almost a crawl compared to him who was unaffected. Without a word he scooped Tora up into his arms like she was some sort of Princess, and he began to carry her moving at a pace that would ensure the reptiles behind them would never be able to catch up. He was much faster than them all to begin with, so those things had no chance now that he had debilitated them to that degree. Keeping his eyes forward as he ran along at a leisurely pace he spoke.
"My apologies for this...I know most people do not like to be carried without proper consent given, but given the situation I do hope you will forgive me." that same emotionless tone carried over as he continued forward. That was when the tower shook, and a large roar echoed through the chamber they were currently in. Stopping in his tracks as he looked around for the source of the roar he felt nothing coming towards them, and it didn't seem as if they were in any immediate danger from what could be coming. So he once again took off towards the next chamber where the source of the roar was more than likely.
Coming upon a large river, and thinking that they were safe from the previous reptiles he set Tora down, and dismissed his armor so she would be able to move normally again. Looking behind him there was a trail of footprints from his armor digging into the ground, and melting it partially, but that wasn't anything that he could help for the moment.
"Hmmm I think we will have to find a way across this river before we can continue...Do you have any ideas?" he asked the woman tilting his head to the side.
Name of Spell: Lava Creation Magic: Armor of Abraxas Elemental Type: Lava Rank & Spell Type: Grand | Defense Creation | Hex, and Curse Range & Speed: Self | 75 m/s | 80 meter AoE Mana Cost: 50 | 25 Stats Effected: -20 m/s (enemy), +12 Durability (self) Applicable Perks: Sinister Magic Description: The strongest spell in his "Armor" series of spells at the moment. Donning a more advanced, and heavy looking version of his Volcanic Knight Armor. It has more draconic features than the previous version, and offers far more protection. The armor is made of hardened lava, that still seems like it is liquid in nature. Glowing gold, and red as he wears it, and leaving molten creases in the ground as he walks. When this armor is donned, it creates an area around Vulkan that is 80 meters in diameter, where the heat is far more intense than normal. While this seems to do no damage to anyone it does have an effect that would be most noticeable. The moment someone steps inside this area to get close they immediately get the Ouroboros brand on the back of their calf that denotes being cursed by his magic. While this brand is on them their speed would be drastically reduced making them easier targets for all of his other spells. The armor itself has an Archmage health pool.
The reaction raised a brow from the woman, her head canting a little to the side as she surveyed the beasts that were circling them and seeming ready to pounce. "Without them botherin us?" She murmured, a little unsure of what he meant. She fully believed he could probably kill all of them without any hassle, however the notion that he could just straight up get them to back off? And why would he need to carry her? She put up her guard just a little, anxious about him possibly injuring her. However once he donned that armor, she TENSED, her eyes slightly wide as she felt the sheer weight of that spell bearing down on her! That heat somehow seeming to sap her ability to move! She grunted, her body feeling bogged down as she looked around, noticing that the......other beasts seemed effected? She couldn't help but pant just a little as she was a bit overwhelmed by the strength of the magic. What sort of magic knight was he?
She didn't really get a ton of time to analyze it, she adjusted her body, slowly getting up as she did so. She was barely even moving a meter per second, but it was agonizing. She did notice that the beasts seemed mostly to be flailing around. They probably had never been subjected to this sort of effect and were wigging out no doubt. However, she quite suddenly felt her considerable weight being hefted right up! Her brows raising and a look of confusion written across her face for a moment before she glanced at the armored man. She was a bit surprised that the magma didn't burn her. And she barked out laughing, grinning wide as she shook her head. "Wow! That's an impressive spell! How are you doing this? This is awesome!" She promptly praised, fascination written all over her face as she surveyed his armor now that she was all close to it, and ither way, he would proceed to carry her out of the area.
-
With them finally free of that second room ,she let out a sigh and looked around, her brain chugging away at her memory. She got down and used her Pudao to hold herself upright until that armor vanished, letting her leave a sigh of relief as she was able to move normal again. She rolled her shoulders and stretched a little, glad to be able to feel her muscles working properly once again before she glanced around and perked up. "Ah right the river! We wound up goin up here.... buuuut I think she mentioned there was another path ...ssssomewhere..." She murmured, her brows furrowing just a little as she gandered about until finally she spotted the side path, perking up and grinning. "Ah, right here! It's a bit slower goin with all the vegetation and stuff, but it's safer I think. If we head down the river ah think there's somethin in the water? I don't even think we ran into it when I was here last.... Ugh....wish I could remember what she said about it..." She murmured, rubbing her forehead for a moment.
All the same, she shrugged and glanced back at the man. "so if'n ya need a place to rest we can probably go the quiet route. But if ya wanna maybe fight some more, we can follow the river. It be a bit of a coin toss about it, but well, if ye handled those beasts all easy like that, then we probably ain't got a worry about what'll pop out of the water, ye?" She reasoned, leaving it to him as to how they proceeded past this particular juncture. After all, it had become abundantly clear who wore the pants in this little excursion of theirs. not that Tora minded, it was certainly a massive change of pace from that one Knight that could hardly fight without her help.

[attr="class","textie"]She wouldn't have seen it as they made their way to the next area, but her praise of his magic had made him blush underneath the helm. However she began to tell him some new information about this area that they were in, explaining to him that there was something in the water. She motioned to a small path at the far end of the water that was slightly overgrown with flora, but if he was being honest realizing that the creature in the water might be of a similar vein to the ones they had just left alone. He didn't want to fight it if he didn't have to. She mentioned that the last time she had come here they hadn't run into whatever creature lay beneath the surface, and so he hoped that would be the case here as well. Rather than leaving it up to chance however he closed his eyes, and expanded his Ki so he could sense the world around him.
Behind him he felt the woman that he had decided to accompany, the ebb, and flow of the ecosystem all around them, and beneath the waters he felt the creature. What it was he didn't exactly know, but he motioned for the amazon to follow him, and slowly he began to make his way across the small land bridge to the other side. It didn't take very long for them to reach it as he had waited to cross when the creature was swimming away from them. Opening his eyes he stretched out his neck a bit, and continued forward to their destination which if he was correct was the final chamber of this place. While his Ki Sense abilities weren't the strongest right now, he did practice them often so they were getting better each day.
"My armor since you asked...It is interlaced with curse magic to make it harder for my enemies to move within a very large area. Meaning that anyone, or anything that approaches me is put at an immediate disadvantage. And if they try to stay at a range I have other spells I can use on them as well, so there is little to no safe distance from me." he explained to her in his calm voice as they bypassed the creature. As they took the small path he hadn't even noticed that the plants around him were tearing into his clothes, and by extension his mana skin. However he hadn't paid it any mention as the mana skin knitted itself back together almost instantly.
These plants did little to no damage to him, and it showed in the carefree nature that he exuded. As they came to the what he hoped was the last room in this exotic dungeon he heard two piercing roars screech through the air. Dust flew at him from all angles, and obscured his vision for a moment before a large gust of wind spread the dust apart giving him clear vision once again. Before him were two titans fighting to the death, he recognized them both from his stories. It seemed they had both claimed the top of the tower for their territory, and were now going to fight to see who would claim it.
"I see...That is most unfortunate...We could let them both fight it out, but that would only cause unneeded suffering to them both. I could simply end the fight, by killing one of them, or both of them..." he seemed conflicted so he turned to the woman that he had tagged along with. "What do you think we should do?" his voice held sincerity in it as he had no clue how they should potentially proceed.
As they walked, Tora couldn't help but be a little surprised by how he was able to navigate the place at just the right time. Was this sensory magic? Or something else? All the same, they moved across the river with no real troubles, walking closely behind the man as they made their way down through the area and finally onto what seemed to be the last section of the tower. She looked over her shoulder and vaguely wondered what was back there. But well, she wasn't planning on falling behind too much. She followed raptly along as the man seemed to just stride forward without a care, not even seeming to mind that he scraped right past a thorny bush that....didn't even really seem all that hard to avoid. What a strange man, no less his muted sort of personality. Poor kid... even with all that strength he didn't seem particularly happy. She rubbed her chin and sighed, thinking for a moment as she idly twirled the pudao in her hand, eyes closed for a moment before she then peered a little at the space ahead.
The sudden SHUDDER made it abundantly clear just what had been causing all this ruckus. Of all things, she could see a winged beast and some sort of massive hunter duking it out on the tower's final floor! She was a little impressed by the sight of the two, whistling appreciatively as she watched the two titanic beasts fighting. Though even as she watched them fighting, and heard Volk sortof comment on the situation, she furrowed her brows as she watched the battle. even though the grounded dino seemed to get in a few good bites, the winged dino was more or less staying up in the air, jabbing with that tail of it's as it sought to tire out that big honkin predator. She considered the idea of attacking one or the other.... but....she imagined it would probably easier to kill the one on the ground. Strong as it was, it wasn't too fast. Neither of them really were, but the flying one at least had an advantage in the air. And so with that, she tapped the ground with her weapon and then SWUNG upward, unleashing a burst of magic as twin dragons promptly erupted out of the pudau and streaked out!
In the middle of the fight, the two beasts were surprised by the sudden surging serpents that seemed to streak out from the sidelines, the twin dragons slamming into the side of the big Juvasaur and causing it to stagger ever so slightly, the Joatl promptly took up into the air, startled by the attack, but not engaging just yet, seeing as it's opponent had been attacked rather than itself. But at the very least, now it was out of range for , presumably, whatever attack that Volk had in store for the beefier enemy. She turned to him and then grinned, brandishing her Pudao. "I think the other one has more meat on it don't ya think? See if ya can take it down without destroyin the body. Especially those haunches." She instructed him, clearly pleased about the notion of getting to try such a rare kind of treat. and this little battle of the titans situation was a pretty good excuse. After all, why waste a bunch of good food if they had to kill one of them anyway?

[attr="class","textie"]The woman said something a bit strange to him when she picked the target for him. Summoning her magic she launched out the twin dragons to hit the one on the ground which he figured was the answer he had been waiting for. The way she spoke to him about it's meat, and haunches, he quirked a curious brow, but he said nothing. Instead he held up a hand, and a familiar lance would form in the air above his hand. He had thought to just kill them both but if he did that some other apex predator would undoubtedly show up, and try to reign supreme again, and then he would have to come back, and deal with it all over again. With a flick of his wrist the lance made of his lava magic flew straight, and true into the Juvasaur. It pierced the hide easily, and went in one side, and out of the other.
The scent of scorched flesh permeated the air, as the creature was now dead, and lay there lifeless. There wasn't even any blood as the heat from his lance was enough to instantly cauterize the wound. To him the scent of the acrid flesh didn't smell all that appetizing but if the woman wanted to eat it he wouldn't be the one who tried to stop her. Though he hoped she wouldn't try to eat it in front of him. Looking up at the flying creature it seemed perhaps a bit perturbed with how it's nemesis had been handled, and rather than stick around it simply flew away to make it's nest since it was the one left standing now. Perhaps he would come visit it, and bring it treats next time if he decided to come back here. It didn't seem all that malicious to him, but he had been wrong before.
"Well...I do believe we have settled the territory dispute for the time being. Hopefully nothing comes to try, and fight the winged beast any time soon." he spoke in that soft tone as he walked up to the woman, and the now dead Juvasaur. "I don't think there is anything left to explore here...Um should we make our way out?" he questioned the woman. Hopefully they hadn't upset the ecosystem of the place to bad, though they had only killed those snails, and this creature, which shouldn't throw anything to out of wack, but in heavy mana zones like this it was always hard to tell. Anything could happen it was why he was normally very cautious.
Seeing as there was no longer any threat near them that he couldn't steer them by he let his lance fade away once again not wanting to keep it out if he wasn't going to use it. It was an unnecessary mana drain after all. As he waited for the woman to answer him he looked behind him to make sure that the flying creature hadn't decided to come back, but it appeared they were in luck, and it was leaving them alone. Perhaps a parting gift from it.
A lance of Lava forms in the air near Vulkan that he can either grab to use as a melee weapon, or that he can fire off towards his opponent as a ranged attack. If he uses it as a projectile, and it misses he can retrieve it by having the Lance fly back to his hand as long as he is within the spells range. This spell deals Senior Rank damage, and inflicts severe burns on those that come into contact with it. For every 30 control that he has he can create an additional lance to use.
She couldn't help but give another whistle of appreciation as the man promptly shot down the big beast in one fell swoop and left it at that. It was amazin to see him at work to say the least. First that thing at the river, the attack on the mushrooms, the suppression of those hunters, and now this? He certainly seemed versatile to say the least. Even if perhaps he had a bit of trouble effecting allies with his abilities. She rubbed her chin just a little and then glanced over her shoulder at him. "Looks like we're in the clear for now. And heh, ah kin see probably not all fer tryin the meat. No worries! Ahl try a few different ways o preparin it. Ahm sure there's some way ta get it nice and tasty." She chuckled and promptly used her Pudao to slice into it's haunches and it's ribs, carving out a couple slabs and gently wrapping them in salted leather wrappings. It would have to do until she could get the meat somewhere safe and then try and prep it. All the same, with that, she glanced around, noticing a wealth of items scattered about. Strange... was all this shit just dropped by someone?
She made her way back over to the man and nodded. "We aughta get through, see if there's anythin else we can use and then hightail it outta here." She chuckled and sighed, pausing for just a moment as she turned and glanced at the man she'd scaled the tower with. Looking....thoughtful. " Been a wild ride ta say the least. It was kinda fun! Maybe we aughta go on these expeditions more often!" She reasoned with a bright smile and a pat to his shoulder. "Who knbows1 Maybe ah kin learn a thing or two bein around such a capable mage like yerself!" She reasoned. Of course she knew it was possible he'd be able to do no such thing. That one fella she'd med near the port had seemed busy, she could only imagine the kind of workload a man of this guy's capabilities had. But well, all the same, there was no harm in giving it a go right?
All the same, it was probably best that they get going, so while she spoke to him she finished looking around and helped him if he needed it. It didn't seem like there would be anything crazy but you never knew with places like this! Her mind wandered to the magic knights she'd run into so far.. and she wondered vaguely what sort of people got into such a position. A man like this, with no emotions and powerful magic? That sneaky man with the mouthful of lies and an ego to match. What WAS it that made them want to be magic knights? What did they feel about their life after the fact? She honestly didn't know what to think about it, and some small part of her wondered if she even SHOULD find out. But well, at least for now, she had food to experiment with, and a good journey under her belt. What more could a girl ask for?
