This is something we see done fairly often within the series and gives King's Haki vibes from One Piece. Just the ability to focus your mana and release it in a heavy pressure that washes over an entire area, intimidating and slowing the movements of others. Yami has shown this the most clearly, but the other Captains have shown to do it, and various characters comment on how heavy or nasty/potent some creatures mana is, etc. This was a mechanic that we were going to introduce as a perk I made while I was staff before all hell broke loose.
The Perk is probably still a decent option. But I think making it something anyone can do is more fitting from what we've seen in canon, it just takes practice.
The numbers obviously could be tweaked, but it was mostly meant to be a 'mob clearer' that was fun roleplay. It also gave more credence to the idea of higher rank characters not being something that weaker characters should half-heartedly challenge. Against people one rank lower than you it was... ok, but most would rather just use a Senior debuffing spell, etc. But against lower-ranking NPC, characters, etc it was useful. Especially for Dungeons, Moderated Adventures, and Events.

Mana Pressure
As a character's raw mana grows, they can learn to release it out into the world around them. This is uniquely different from a Mana Zone that manipulates the mana around them, and instead uses nothing but the character's own mana. Characters are able to release their own mana out in a heavy pressure that throws off those of lowers ranks and can even intimidate and knock out normal people of weaker wills.
Releasing Mana Pressure costs 25 Mana per post to maintain. Your mana pressure's range is equal to your total Mana Pool/2 (rounded down) in a meter radius around you. Anything within this range that is of equal rank or higher than you is unaffected. For every rank they are lower than you causes them to suffer [-5m/s] Speed, [-Junior] Strength, and [-2] to Power, Durability, Sensory, and Control. (ie. An Archmage using this on a group of Intermediate Monsters would cause them to suffer [-15m/s] Speed, [-Intermediate+Junior] Strength, and [-6] to Power, Durability, Sensory and Control.) This is not considered a spell for casting limits but does take up one of the target's debuff slots. This debuff can be removed as per normal treating it as a [Senior] Rank debuff with the user's stats as per usual.
If a creature is [4] Ranks lower than the individual using Mana Pressure, they will be rendered unconscious from the raw force crushing them (ie. An Archmage can make Junior-Rank creatures faint instantly using this ability.).
