So here he was after so long. It had been quite some time since he had last come back to the Family Estate. It felt like years, and the area seemed to have changed in that time he was gone. Chisana had a weird sense of déjà vu when he looked upon his family’s home, he had first come here with another relative Xiulan. One of his first friends he made when he arrived to take part in the ceremony of receiving a Grimoire. The fellow Shengxiao had escorted him around town and all the way back to the family home to show him around the area, he had not seen Xiulan for quite some time. She had joined the Black Bulls after Chisana and they had taken care of a mission together but after that she seemed to have disappeared and he hoped that she was fine. Chisana decided he would put out some feelers for any information pertaining to Xiulan to see if he could narrow down where she might have gone off too.
There was a good chance that the fellow Black Bull had simply went on a training adventure and was perfectly safe, but it was better to be safe then sorry. Chisana sighed and pushed that line of thought out of his head and finally moved himself into the Shengxiao Estate. It was just as beautiful as he remembered when he was here last, though something was slightly different then what he remembered but he could not figure out what it was. So, he moved on there was not a reason to worry about something or let something so insignificant bother him so long when he was finally home for once in so long. The home was set up as their ancestrally home had been back in the motherland though on a smaller scale. Each branch had a corridor to their own so that family members could mingle among their own and have their own spaces cause even though they were family there was still some who did not get along with each other beyond simply being civil in public. The main building was both a meeting hall for the whole family and the Head Branches home though that title rotated every year from branch to branch to keep with family tradition. It involved quite a lot of logistic work to decorate the hall with the new branches things and symbols but it was something that they had been doing for quite a long time.
It was always so relaxing when it came to visiting home for the young Shengxiao, the first time he was here he had not even gotten his Grimoire and now here he was almost Senior in rank for strength for mages and a Senior 5th Class Magic Knight of the Black Bulls. He had completed multiple dungeons and had finished even more Missions for the Kingdom, he was still one of the younger and probably one of the youngest Magic Knights in the squad but he was slowly working his way to becoming one of importance. It was a slow climb but he took each step to progress just that much more, for awhile he wasn’t sure if he was going to be able to make it or even continue the journey but every day Chisana saw the path just a bit better. Every second of every day he learned that much more and he pushed that much harder in his training, nothing would stop him from reaching the top short of death.
Chisana made his way to the Snake Branch and upon arrival gave his greetings to the elders of the branch, he was currently the closest to having a chance of attempting the Star Trail and becoming the Leader of his Branch so he had some respect from those who were around it didn’t mean much outside of his family but it was something. “All I need to do is the small steps and then I’ll worry about the large jumps.” Chisana thought to himself as he cleaned up his living space. He had only decided to truly become a part of the family because his father was so stuck on being apart of such a noble and prestigious family. Though in their village he was more known as the rambling crazy farmer that no one believed was actually apart of some noble family, Chisana at a young age had determined that he would make those who belittled his family pay and his first step was to become the leader of his Branch first and then he would work on becoming the Vice-Captain of his Squad and then eventually Captain. From there he would have to work on becoming the strongest mage in the Kingdom he wasn’t sure how possible that was but he was going to continue his training and studies till he no where else to go.

Chisana spent most of his time at home just getting familiar with the layout of the estate and the various branch corridors that filled the area that their land was on. He examined the library and the training area. They all were of top quality which was a bit surprising to see in a lesser nobles estate but he was happy to see that the family’s quality of life was on par with some of the Upper nobles like the Silvas. Though he did plan to figure out on how to further improve their home and see if there was a way to get them into the upper nobility though that might be a fruitless endeavor at the moment or for the foreseeable future, Chisana would have to come back to that plan at a later time when he was much higher up in the world. For now he could only focus on what was in front of him and that was becoming more knowledgeable of the family estate.
So he continued his little tour of the area and reading up on the various ledgers that the family allowed certain members to access, it seemed that they had gained ownership of a mine thanks to the various efforts of the family working within the Clover Kingdom. It was always a positive to see that the family was progressing on without his input, it would be a sad day to find out that he was the only one out that bettering the family’s image with their actions. He was after all only one person in this vast family, it had been quite some time since he had interacted with another family member now that Chisana thought about it. He had heard that their had been a Shengxiao that had been chosen by a Platinum Grimoire in the Horse Branch but hadn’t had the chance to actually interact with that mage beyond some passing greetings at family meetings. Though the interesting thing about the horse mage was that they were one of two twins where the brother was apart of the Boar branch instead of the Horse Branch. It wasn’t exactly normal for siblings to belong to different branches but every once and awhile this would happen when their affinity leaned more towards another branch. So it had caused quite an uproar with the discovery and incident, there had even been rumors of infidelity but those had been quickly dismissed once some of the elders had presented evidence of this happening naturally.
Chisana had luckily been at the Black Bulls base where he normally stayed during that event or else that would have been a nightmare to have to deal with, a bunch of grumpy conservative nobles arguing and complaining about stuff like that would have been horrid. Chisana was quite enjoying his stay at the family estate but he knew that shortly he would have to leave back to the Black Bull base to continue his training and studies, though he knew that he would be returning more regularly to the Estate going forward to try and reconnect more with his scattered family members. That was one of the things about the Shengxiao they hardly stayed in one place or even bothered to come together unless it was for an emergency but Chisana never knew who he would meet when he made these trips back home. Maybe on of the relatives knows what happened to Xiulan or maybe he would be able to find some information about it from one of the elders. “I think she is apart of the Boar branch also, so maybe he could would ask the twin that was in there if he ever got to see him.” Chisana muttered to himself as he finalized his packing. He had everything ready to go for his trip back to the Black Bull base but this time he would have to complete this trip by land instead of being able to use the Spatial mage to bring him back and forth like he normally did.
“Alright everyone, don’t burn down the place while I’m gone.” Chisana said to the family before he left the estate not that anyone was particular there to listen to the young Shengxiao.
