"Ha, so this is it huh? Well, I'll be damned it really is one giant ass fortress." Dezra said as she approached the village of Kiten as she approached its walls on a horseback, she was still unnamed but as a member of the Ryuutei clan she was free to roam and roaming the lands needed transportation, food, and water and she was running out of all three. To deal with the lack of funds Dezra or as she told people U.N, decided to take a job in Kiten, the legends of how it once stood as a might fortress against the Diamond Kingdom was a mere ghost of what it was now, a peaceful town at the edge of the Diamond Kingdom that found no shortage of paranoid soldiers ready for the echo's of the past to come alive once again so the town could serve it's true purpose once more.
Of course, none of this mattered to Dezra, she was just a simple roamer low on funds and seeking a job, well this wasn't exactly a job but more like something the Kingdom randomly selected for people to participate in? It paid well so there was of course no reason for her not to go even though she would rather be back in the wild. As she made it past the towns fortress walls all the smells around the general area hit her nose at once, the unnatural scents the people produced was bothering her greatly and she probably looked like some annoying savage wearing what could only be described as bear fur and bone, along with a katana at her side. Obviously, the people around her got out of her way not wanting to mess with her and their instincts would serve them well.
Making her way through the town she would eventually find the location of where the details of her job would be more explained to her, reaching a tower that seemed to be connected to the walls, entering the structure hallways lead two different ways, as if connecting to other entrances and exits around the city's fortress walls. "Hm, you are a bit earlier than expected" A lone figure that was standing a few meters away would say, he had circular framed thick glasses, his head covered in a black cap and his clothing being that of a devote of god, or at least the figure they acknowledged as such. "What can I say? I like to look professional~" Dezra teased back gaining a short-lived chuckle, "Very Humorous of you, well the other member isn't here yet so go ahead and make yourself comfortable.

Well, this was looking to be quite the nice little side gig. She was looking for some extra pay afterall, she couldn't really keep depending on her father's hunting and her mother's bartering...
Makoto looked at the big bulletin board of Kiten village. Her family had been there for a couple of days already to conduct their own business, so she did have some time to get used to the streets and other places. They would probably remain there another few days before setting off to the next village in their voyage through clover. So, once her usual chores were done, the youngling of the Kurah'in decided to do something productive instead of just loafing around waiting for departure.
She was a huntress, quite proficient with bow and arrow, and she had her grimoire to count on if need be. All in all, considering what her mother always said to her, doing this patrol job sounded like something that could get her closer to the Knights. Or at least get a taste of what she was going to do once there. Outside of the monetary compensation, she would probably leave a trail of deeds for herself to hopefully increase her chance to get picked. The selections were a good way away still, so she heard from more than one person in more than one village, but it was still a good thing to prepare.
Grabbing her stuff, Makoto made sure to fasten her quiver on her back in a way that it wouldn't impede movement or fall of at the first signs of fighing. She would also pick up her bow and check the string in the process. Looked good, probably a good few hundred arrows before she would need to change it. Finally, supplies and rations would be stuffed in her satchel. She probably wouldn't need them, but you never knew.
Hopping around through the streets at a quick pace, the blue haired lass disregarded the few oddballs giving her weird looks as she walked towards where she was supposed to report for the job. It was like people had never seen someone from Hearts going around. That or they hadn't really seen people wearing leathers and fishnet as armor. When you're on the hunt, you need to stay light and most importantly, stay quiet. If she started walking around like a tin can, all that clanging noise people made with every step would quickly turn into a hunting session without game.
"Hey there!" She chimed at the conspicuous looking priest guy near the closest tower to the village's fortress, waving her arm around. She definitely got his attention, though he seemed to be talking with another lady already. Was she there for the job too? Probably, though she didn't see her face around the village, so perhaps she was from somewhere else. Either way, she wasn't going to let this quick and easy job escape her grasp! If they were thinking of replacing her, they would have to think again!
"I'm Makoto Kuga." She introduced herself and raised the paper she took with the job announcement. "I'm here for the uuuh...this thing!" the young blue haired lady would add, checking the paper and then pointing at the guard job announcement.

Approaching the structure where she was supposed to report in for this guard dog mission, she would walk in being greeted by a lone priest, a few banter thrown here and there, and then Dezra was told to wait for the other person who took the job to arrive, "Other? I thought this was a solo job.." Dezra said her gaze turning towards the man as it pierced daggers into him as she thought she made her way all the way here for nothing. "Nowhere in the paper did this say this was only a one-person job." The priest said calmly in response to her glare. Dezra let out a huff, "Do we have to split the money after?" At that, the priest chuckled, "No you do not, as I said this was never a one person gig, each person that takes this job gets paid the same amount in full." Knowing that she would still get paid the full amount even if she had to do this was others was comforting, it also meant the odds of this job being remotely hard had just dimished with added forces, "I see, I guess that's alright"
Dezra turned her attention away from the priest as her glance went upwards, checking out the ceiling, to her this structure was no better than a giant cage, she hated being in town. The air reeked of all those perfumes and scents those of nobility and commoners wore, it was crowded and everyone was too at ease. Life, was wild, and uncontained to live as if nothing in the world could touch you was fools dream and upset the natural order of things, in the end humans are just another type of beast that just prefer to crowd themselves in protected area's like cows to the slaughter, at any moment a real monster could attack the town and they would be hopeless against it.
Her nose twitched, her immediate thoughts stopping as her nose caught a rather thick scent of the forest around the area, turning her head towards this much pleasant scent Dezra would notice a girl carrying quivers armed with arrows and a bow, the girl was yelling at the priest and even he turned to face her, "Ah there they are." The priest said calmly waving down Mikoto with a smile as she approached. Dezra walked up to the priest standing beside him as the girl introduced herself and that she was there for the job as well, Dezra, however, was far more interested in sniffing the air Mikoto, the lovely scent of the forest occupying's her nostrils was far more pleasant than any stench forming form the whole town. "Of course Ms. Koga we been expecting you. Like this young woman here.." The priest would gesture to Dezra as if trying to ignore what she was doing," You might have thought this job was a solo job but in fact, it's not. Don't worry though as you both will receive full payment once the job is complete
With Mikoto scent memorized Dezra finally stopped sniffing her and stepped back beside the priest, " You smell of a long term hunter in the forest, I also spend lots of my time in the forest. I enjoy working with you, however short." Dezra would say standing straight as her right hand reached out in a friendly gesture, if Mikoto shaked her hand she would smile, flashing her sharpened canine teeth "You can call me U.N."

Makoto tilted her head at the weird woman that had introduced herself just now. She did seem like someone from the wilds herself. She certainly wasn't a denizen of this village, that much was for sure. Her clothes were much different than anything she had had even the most remote chance of seeing. Her accent was also something clearly foreign to the region. "uuh, Un? Un what?" Makoto parroted, looking down at the hand as she tried to grasp her name, or at least what she was saying was her name. Slowly, she grabbed her hand and shook it once while giving a firm squeeze. The young lady remembered that was something people of the place did to greet, kinda similar to her clan salute, though more universal. She didn't want to appear rude.
"Oh you're a hunter too? What kind of game do you go after?" Makoto would quip, now wobbling on the spot, looking at the weird priest guy. "That's pretty neat. No fancy pants to pamper while we go about our rounds." She would add, smiling at the priest, subtly thanking the fact that they wouldn't have the guy around for much longer. She didn't like priest guys. They were weird, blabbing about weird things. Makoto wasn't really superstitious or believed in gods and that stuff. You couldn't really even prove their existance either so what was the poing of dedicating your life to nothing?
"Alright so, my bow's good to go, where do we begin?" The young Kurah'in asked the guy there to point her to the start line. "Oh, it's Kuga, by the way, not Koga. Kuga. Makoto Kuga Kurah'in!" she would add after a moment. Not that she minded much about her own name, but she needed to leave a good impression for the knights and she did not want to leave all the merit of her hard work and sweat to someone with a different name.

Having dealt with the introductions and the other mumbo jumbo, Makoto happily strolled towards the place indicated by their employer where she was supposed to keep watch while Dezra handled the other side. It was probably going to be a little superfluous to have the two of them watching over the same area. Not to mention that they would be leaving a whole section of the wall unguarded and that could spell very bad if something decided to attack. Not that something necessarily had to attack but the whole point of doing that entire guard duty thing was to avoid such problems from rising.
So there she was, bow in hand, walking up and down and up and down and up again, keeping here eyes peeled and her senses sharp. The first two hours would go by mostly without much happening other than her pacing. Occasionally, she would cross her path with Dezra but as she put it her side was just as barren as Makoto's own. After a while of walking, the young huntress would decide on a small pause, sitting down on the wall and dangling her tabi boots on the void below.
So far so good. No movement, no fancy smancy people causing problems. Just the occasional traveller and the occasional carriage. Nothing to be worried about. A few magic knights would also be flying overhead on their brooms, but she didn't need to stop them. They were probably going around to do their own assignments so Makoto would just chill on her spot for a few more minutes before hopping back up and starting her rounds again.
The third hour passed without a hitch. The forth hour had her shout at a caravan to point them towards the entrance, then it was back to nothing for the fifth and sixth hour. By now the job was starting to be a little boring, but she would be done soon and besides, she was basically being paid to just sit around and do nothing, which to be honest it was not too bad. Certainly better than the other job she had signed up. Moving boxes was far more monotonous than just walking around and looking outside.
Once her shift was up, the young Makoto would happily hop down the wall while Dezra would do one last round up. She would find the guy she talked with earlier and happily collect her payment before saluting and being on her marry way.
