[attr="class","header"]A Long Overdue Reunion
[break] Since the daemons had been defeated there had been a lot of rebuilding all over the kingdom, the royal capital had been the least affected and the rebuild was almost immediate. The noble was in no way surprised by that as nobles would rebel if their part of the kingdom was anything but 'perfect'. Honestly, it made her sick to her stomach at the best of times to hold the status that she did but it did come with its own benefits. Raque had been affected badly thanks to her squads base being destroyed and the entire town being flooded, she had got the nobles and those not really affected within the town to help those less fortunate. She had led by example as her own house had become an orphanage and a refuge for families. She didn't mind so longs everyone helped. She was thankful for the care packages from the noble region sent by the Wizard King. [break][break] It had helped keep everyone's spirits up as mourning and rebuilding had happened, the other squads had helped to find any of the long since dead that may have ended up unearthed and floating away due to the flood. It wasn't something that anyone had hoped for but they were reburied with a proper send off as they had been the first time, she believed it was the least she could do to help show that everyone was hurt by the tragedy. She had felt the pain personally as many of her friends had been killed in what had passed while she was on a task given to her by her predecessor. She had survivors guilt and with the former captain pretty much running off after the fact it had left a somewhat sour taste in her mouth on the matter. [break][break] She had no great aspirations to become a vice captain or captain of her squad, even if she did she didn't want it because someone had died in the case of her late vice captain or because they were ashamed of what had passed in the case of her former captain. It was what it was and no amount of complaining would change things, she knew that and so accepted the promotion when it was offered to her. The first person she had told was her childhood friend who had seemed overjoyed for her but that was just how Lydia was at least with her. Turned out later that she and her younger brother had had a bet and he lost it as he hadn't known all the facts, this actually surprised the white haired captain as from what she knew of the teenager he left nothing to chance at least from what Lydia herself had told her. [break][break] She still didn't know the outcome of that bet but she would make sure to ask Lydia about the punishment the next time she saw her outside of a formal gathering. As much as she hated to admit it had been needed especially when Kikka had been enshrouded in darkness. She knew it was likely affecting the people inside it terribly but it was also scaring those outside of it, they needed something happy to concentrate on. The problem was she knew the majority that were trapped within the city of darkness would likely view it as a betrayal, they were suffering and the rest of the kingdom were having festivals. It wasn't a perfect scenario but it wouldn't be no matter what happened, this was what the daemons likely intended, to sew discourse between the people and what was worse she feared it was going to work. [break][break] She had been busy with Raque's rebuilding and had sent any supplies that she could find to help with the rebuild of Kikka, it might have not been much but every little helped when people were struggling. From what she had heard she hadn't been the only head of a noble house that had reached out in this, that was good to see. Kikka needed to be shown that it hadn't been forgotten or abandoned in those two long months but she knew if Raque was anything to go by the wounds wouldn't heal quickly and there would be a huge time of mourning which she could understand personally. When she returned to her own estate she was greeted by the head of her staff who held her out a letter, this wasn't unusual given that she was a captain and the head of her house. [break][break] She turned it over to see who had sent it, the seal would let her know instantly she smiled seeing it was Lydia's personal one. This let her know it wasn't anything to do with business as a magic knight or even as a noble. Walking inside she broke the seal and opened the letter reading the contents "Well isn't that interesting." she mumbled to herself finding out something she hadn't known previously. "Ellie, get Jacob ready he's going on a trip with me, also get a carriage ready for us please." with that she went and got changed out of what she wore and had a bath. Soon afterwards she freshened up and got dressed in a simple but stylish pale blue and white dress her hair was done in a simple bun with matching ribbons going through it. When ready she left her estate a young man with a carriage and horses made of pure aura awaited her and Jacob. [break][break] Jacob was the spatial mage for her estate and so to make it easier for her to travel to where they were going he would have to step foot there so he was to escort his lady. He would be able to wander around and would be paid well for his time away from his family as he always had been. She hadn't realised how tired she had been and so had dozed off, she woke up as she heard Jacob say something and so looked out of the window. She hadn't even realised that she had a blanket over her. "You're right it looks wonderful here. Have I been asleep long?" she asked the elderly man "For most of the way m'lady but you need your rest and so I felt it best to leave you to do so." she was always happy that her staff cared so much for her, often she'd forget to care for own needs while looking after others if they hadn't. She smiled and gave a small nod of appreciation. [break][break] Within five minutes the carriage had landed and Jacob had helped her out, she was surprised to see Jacob's grandson had been the one that had been the one that had made the carriage. "Congratulations on getting your grimoire Eli, enjoy yourself while you are here and we'll have a celebration when we return home." she said handing Jacob a pouch of yul for the pair to go have a good day out together. "Thank you miss." Eli said happily with a wave she moved to the front door but stopped and looked up at a window "Lyd you better get down here and open that door or I'm going to break it if it isn't open!" her tone wasn't threatening but it was something the pair often threatened on doing to one another when they were growing up. For the life of her, she was pretty sure they had both done it quite a few times to the other, with the warning given she moved towards the front door of the Ravencrest estate.
[attr="class","florencetext"] It had been a few months since the magic knights along with the help of a few citizens had freed Kikka from Daemon control. Lydia herself was of course a part of it and while she was supposed to only be over watch for the fight things didn't work out perfectly as was normally the case with most plans and she had to step in. Some of the choices the vice captain made the junior mages with her didn't agree with not that it mattered to her much as she had a job to do even if they didn't agree with the most logical choice. At the end of the day however it didn't matter as the kingdom achieved it's goal of freeing the down and returning things back to normal at least as much as they could. Kikka itself had suffered a lot of damage as it was turned into a warzone and the Ravencrest held with rebuilding in such as much as they could without putting their own new kingdom at risk. Now things were quite again which almost felt weird to the light mage as nothing major daemon related had happened within the past few months. While most people would have thought it meant the threat was over Lydia knew it was far from over the enemy was just working out there next big plan. However so was clover. [break][break] Today however wasn't a day Lydia would spend thinking about things like that as even she needed time to relax and had even invited her childhood friend and now blue rose captain Alyssa to the Ravencrest estate. While the younger women hadn't wrote back Lydia knew her well enough to knew Alyssa would show up today the question was just when. That was an answer Lydia would find out while she was taking a bath and relaxing before she heard an all to familiar voice yelling to her. The glass mage knew the door comment wasn't a bluff as the two women had done that to each other more than once before. So Lydia would get out of the bath draining the water and drying off before getting changed into a simple red dress and heading down to the door. Lydia hadn't taken the time to braid or even pull up her hair as she didn't have enough time after all the fate of her new door depended on the crimson lion vice captain opening it before Alyssa kicked it down. [break][break] Which Lydia would manage to do. She would then give the other women a soft smile while looking her over. Looking as breath taking as ever aren't you Alyssa. Lydia would then hold her hand out to the white haired mage before leading her inside. It's nice to see you could find time in your busy life to visit little old me. Shall we sit? Assuming Alyssa agreed Lydia would take a seat on the sofa in the main room and not long after a pair of two servants would bring out tea for the two high ranking mages almost as if the knew someone of importance had shown up without being told. After all they did as Lydia had person trained all of the staff at the estate on how to better since ones mana which wouldn't have been a surprise to Alyssa.

[attr="class","header"]Catching Up
[break] The Blue Rose captain slowly and daintily made her way to the door, if a person was to see her how she was currently it would hard to believe that she was in a magic knight squad let alone leading it. Just as she got to the door however it was opened making her chuckle a bit "New door?" she enquired knowing that if the other hadn't even tied her hair back then there was a rush against what she had said what she was going to do. She looked at her friend as she heard her compliment and smiled "Thank you Lydia, you look as ravishing as ever." she complimented the crimson lioness in kine, she did mean the words that she had spoken to the other. "I'm guessing you were either training, reading or bathing when I decided to drop in." she commented as she took the other's hand. [break][break] Walking with her into the estate she smiled "I don't think you were training, your body temperature is to warm for that and you'd have sent a member of staff to get the door while you finished. I don't think you were reading or your hair would be at least tied back so the final option is the most plausible." she said smiling noting the subtle scent of the water in the air around her. "Thinking about me again?" she joked, it wasn't uncommon for the pair to have girls days out where they would go to the hot springs and decide to be pampered. In their line of work, it was needed every now and then just to distress. They weren't just magic knights but held positions within their squads, if that wasn't enough stress they were also heads of their families which added more pressure to them. [break][break] "What are you talking about Lydia? I always make time for you." this was the way it had always been, it wasn't always easy for them due to responsibilities but they did make the time when there was a letter and they weren't on a mission. "I got your letter as soon as I got home and within the hour I was making my way here." she said sitting on the sofa next to the other. She smiled to the servants and bowed her head in thanks, she was used to the other's house running in an efficient way as her house was run pretty similarly. "I see things haven't changed. You're household still has a small weaponized army for staff." she said with a chuckle, she was glad that it hadn't in all honesty. She moved to pick up her teacup and looked at her friend with a delicate smile. [break][break] "How have things been with you?" she asked knowing it had been quite a while since they had actually been able to talk. Even at the spirit and yule balls, she had people flocking to her like butterflies and so she had excused herself on both occasions as much as it had pained her to do so. It wasn't exactly like they would have been able to do much catching up in those circumstances and they bot knew it. She took a small sip of the tea enjoying the gentle subtle floral flavour that it had, it seemed as if the servants had remembered the woman's favoured tea but then she shouldn't expect anything less in regards to this household. "Your land is beautiful, although, I slept most of the way here according to Jacob." it wasn't something like she like to admit as it showed just how much things were weighing on her.
[attr="class","florencetext"] As Alyssa asked her question about if it was a new door Lydia would nod her head. The vice captain hadn't got it more than a week ago and wasn't to keen on having to replace it so soon. As the blue rose captain returned a compliment the glass mage would smile a little more. I see you still have that silver tongue. Lydia would simply allow the sliver haired women guess which of the three options it truly was it was so much more fun that way. Besides Alyssa was a smart women and Lydia was by no means a surprise that she guessed correctly. A smrik would come across the vice captains face at the flirty comment. Hm maybe I was think about how much more enjoyable it would have been if you joined me in the bath~ It was common for the two female knights to flirt with each other so it probably wouldn't have surprised the captain or perhaps it would it was always fun to see which one it was. Lydia would place her hand on her best friends arm as it seemed she misunderstood the joke. Alyssa I know you'll always make time for me when you can and I'm glad you're here today give it was such short notice. Lydia would let out a playful sigh. I wouldn't say we have a small army we just make sure are staff has the ability to protect themselves in the unfortunate case some fools get the idea to attack us. The vice captain would take a drink of her tea it was easily in her top five but that was no surprise as they both had around the same taste in tea. I guess I've been doing fine. Nothing out of the normal other than I'm little more busy now that I have my own kingdom to run by thankfully Victoria helps out when I have magic knight business to attend to. Anyway how have things been treating you as the new captain of the blue rose. It was sad that Alyssa didn't get to see much of the country side of Carrion but the vice captain knew all to well how draining there line of work was. Ah yes the country side is a sight to behold maybe you'll have time to see that and the royal palace before our duties call us away but you really should try that mediation trick I taught to help you with sleep Alyssa.

[attr="class","header"]Mixed Emotions
[break] The silver-haired noblewoman couldn't help but chuckle softly seeing the other's nod, it had explained why she had moved so fast to save the door. It wasn't like their doors were cheap given their craftsmen and the kind of woods they used, She was pretty sure one of their doors could buy a decent-sized house. Normally if the doors were going to be replaced they wouldn't worry about them being so broken but new doors were a different matter entirely, not that it saved many of her doors when Lydia came to visit her. It was something neither house's parents could understand and thought it was just going to be a stage that they outgrew, they never did and it just sort of became their greeting to one another these days. She was starting to wonder who was the bad influence on the other because she honestly couldn't remember who done it first. [break][break] It was likely her as she was a lot more rambunctious as a teenager than she was now, more so as she took the duality of nature to heart. Something had likely annoyed her and she wanted to vent to Lydia but she was so angry that she told the pink-haired woman that she had better open her door or she was losing it. Regardless of who it actually was that had started this tradition, at that point, whoever had been the original victim would have likely believed it a bluff until the door shot across the room with half the door frame attached. It was a fond memory that she had and was glad that they continued it even now, she wasn't as openly combative as she once was but it didn't mean she liked to forget her roots and what she had become from since that time. [break][break] "Well, I am attached to it Lydia so it isn't going anywhere." she chuckled lightly, they didn't normally have time to deal with politics all that often. When Lydia couldn't attend she had taught Hania the role, she knew her cousins were all competent in such a role but they quite often could become terrifying if the wrong thing was said she sent her stewardess in her place. It wasn't ideal and it had upset many of the family, she had welcomed any of them to challenge her for leadership of the family and many could have given her a run for her money such as her cousin Victoria. She, however, was respected and the others knew she was doing what was best for the kingdom and family. [break][break] It was believed that her family would serve the kingdom in some form or another, it was quite unusual almost unheard of to hear of any of her family being civilians after they receive their grimoires. The family was united but the few rarities that did take the civilian lifestyle were sort of internally looked down upon by the rest, they of course were still loved and treated the same, it was more there was a disappointment and disapproval of the life choice. It was of course different if there was a legitimate reason they couldn't serve such as health or they decided they would do more good by joining the church. It was a strange mindset her family had but then most nobles had some sort of quirk within their family line. Her train of thought however was disturbed when Lydia spoke once more, a smile was ever-present on her lips as she listened carefully to what the glass mage had said to her. [break][break] "We haven't been to the hot springs in so long maybe we should do that while I am visiting." She said with a loving tone, she knew exactly what the other hand meant, she was lightly blushing at it. She, after all, had never actually been on a date. She was always attempting to improve spells or herself, when she wasn't she was dealing with family matters or squad matters so it kind of put a dampener on finding that special someone. She placed her hand over her friends as she touched her arm "And as always I am glad to be spending time with you." she was being serious on that, she honestly wished she could see Lydia more but they were always busy dealing with some sort of catastrophe or another. Okay, maybe that was overplaying it, but with the way some nobles made their trivial problems sound you'd think there was a daemon invasion happening every other day. [break][break] "Lydia, some people would see that as a small army given how many people our estates hire." she pointed out to the other, it wasn't just the Ravencrest household that was like that, the Lilygate were just as bad. There was going to be one idiot that would try something and needed to be used as an example to other people thinking it would be a bright idea. She was never one hundred percent sure why the glass mage had done it other than to protect her family. The air pressure mage did it because quite often her household held civilians who had been affected by tragedy and so wanted to make sure that they would be perfectly safe within her families fortified estate. [break][break] This was how her family gave back in a united way and always had done, it was unusual for nobles to do such a thing but they were an unusual family at the best of times. "I'm glad my cousin is able to help put your mind at ease when you are unable to be here to deal with matters yourself." she said warmly before taking a sip if of her tea, she was enjoying the flavour a great deal and it showed on her face. "It's been a learning curve, to say the least." she admitted to the other "But not one that I haven't quickly mastered but it has been made harder due to what happened to the squad base and Raque." she sounded saddened as she spoke, even lowering her cup and saucer onto the table. That was still quite raw for her, she had lost her parents in the attack, she just hadn't really gotten around to telling anyone. Victoria of course knew but believed it was Alyssa's decision on who to tell as it was the young woman who had experienced the loss worst. [break][break] "My sleeping is fine Lydia, just I came from a mission straight here so there wasn't time to rest up." she said trying to shift the conversation to something less painful and gloomy but it was still clear as day there was something wrong. "I would love to see both before we are whisked away back into the land of duties and expectations." she said trying to just move past it. She, however, was still in mourning. "I have a few days off so during that time if you have nothing else going on I would love to remain here with you so we can catch up more and you can show me around." she was being sincere on this, she honestly did miss spending time with Lydia and would take this time to do just that if the other didn't mind of course.
[attr="class","florencetext"] Lydia would let a playful smile come across her face at the other women's comment. I know it is. I'd say that's my favorite part but I like everything about you. The two female knights were use to each other flirting with them however they were also able to tell when the other actually meant what they said and this was one of those cases. Alyssa's light blushing didn't go unnoticed by Lydia most thing normally. Well luckily there is a hot spring close by that we can go to whenever you want. I wouldn't mind relaxing in a nice water with a beauty like you. We could even call it a date if you wanted to. [break][break] The glass mage of course knew the blue rose mage had never actually been on a date before as her focus was always on something else other than finding a special someone. Lydia would let out a small sigh. Yes but as you know most people could use a little help in the brain department sometimes. It was of course true that Lydia and the Ravencrest family trained the staff a little. However it wasn't to have a small army it was to help those who had no desire to stay working for the family for there whole life have some tools to help out with whatever other path they picked later in life if they did. Lydia would drink more of the tea as she listened to the silver haired women speak. I'm glad you were able to get use to your new position I know it's not something you wanted but they are lucky to have you as a captain. [break][break] The sadness didn't go unnoticed and while most would have thought it was just because of the fact the other women's home was Raque Lydia had a feeling it was more than that. However before she could dig deeper Alyssa would speak again. The glass mage would think for a moment before answering. Well the captain does owe me a few days off and Victoria can handle most of the kingdoms matters for me so I'm free during you're whole visit. The Ravencrest head would then set down her own tea before grabbing the other women's hands. Alyssa what's wrong? You know I'd do almost anything I can for you so please tell me what's really bothering you.

[attr="class","header"]Distressing Truth
[break] The silver-haired woman chuckled lightly to the light flirting that came from her friend, it was the same as always and she was thankful for the distraction. She had taken on a lot of responsibility since the attack on Raque while dealing with her own loss. "You are as charming as always I see Lydia, but then you always have been blessed with a gifted tongue." she said knowing the flirt was going a little past where they normally were at this point in their conversation, but the other had opened the door and she just felt the need to walk through it. She doubted that the pink-haired beauty beside her would care too much, they both were content and knew where the line was so they made sure to never cross it if the other was uncomfortable. It was rare for them to ever get near that line but they still knew the boundaries nonetheless. [break][break] "I would love to visit the hot springs with you escorting me, if you are lucky I may even let you wash my back." she teased a little, she wondered if the hot springs were private or public. She wouldn't have minded either way, but she would prefer something more intimate for her first time here. "Only if you are making me dinner." she said with a light giggle, she enjoyed Lydia's cooking and it had been a long while since she had enjoyed it, she would even help her and they could do it as a bonding activity like they did when they were younger. It was some of the fondest memories and right now she could honestly do with making more. As far as she was concerned the two were already on a date, kind of and she was going to enjoy it the best she could. [break][break] The silver-haired woman had never actually been on a date, her duties to her family, kingdom and squad. Romance had always taken a back seat to it all, she understood that she had a responsibility to make sure her family line continued in case something happened to her. The thing was she had never really shown any interest in such things outside the light flirting with Lydia. She believed when it was time for it to happen then the spirits would guide her to the one she was meant to be with, for now, she was content with the state of her love life and wouldn't be with the first person she came across 'just because' she would feel terrible for doing it and it would just cause unneeded stress. She wanted to avoid that if she could but the stewards worried and she understood why. [break][break] She couldn't argue with the other's words and nodded "I am well aware. Common sense seems to be such a rare commodity these days." she said with a sigh as she took a sip of her tea once more, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the taste of the warm amber liquid. The world was still, she felt like the recent events were merely a distant nightmare and that she could forget even for a short time, it was quite often like that with her friend and she was thankful. They grew knowing unachievable expectations of their parents and it brought them closer, that closeness made them not only rise to the expectations but overtook them completely much to their parent's surprise. Her mothers were happy, she wasn't unsure if Lydia's father had felt the same way or it had just made things worse. [break][break] "Indeed, this isn't what I expected for my career but when asked by Jagen himself who was to decline." she honestly wanted to say yes but she would rather not cause the man insult, especially if he believed that she could do good for her squad and home town after such a terrible event. She smiled and nodded "I would like your company if you can lend it to me." she said, she knew the pair always tried to make time for the other but it didn't always work out. Such was the life of responsibilities and duty. Her hands were then taken as she was asked why she was sad and reminded that she would do almost anything for her, she wanted to know what was troubling her.
