Echo had come to the castle town of Kikka ready to enter the magic knight entrance exams. These exams only took place about twice a year so he was sure to come and impress all of the captains as best as he could. First impressions were a big deal in the world of business and they held the same weight in situations such as these. The young noble would walk into the exam grounds with a chip on his shoulder ready to show off what he had, and also ready to see what the other potential knight candidates would have to offer.
Once Echo’s number was called he would step forward to take part in the demonstration event. The demonstration was for you to simply show what your magic was capable off, without the need of a true combat setting. Echo felt as though he had much he could show here, because for the most part his skills were easy to show in and out of combat. He would walk in with a simple yet elegant introduction to the captains saying “Hello captains of the nine magic knight squads. My name is Echo Jaegar, second born son and heir to house Jaegar. Today I would like to give you all a brilliant demonstration of my light magic. Before moving any further I would like to say I specialize in attack creation, physical reinforcement, and sensory magics. My non-magical specializations involve tracking, hunting, archery, swordsmanship, and hand to hand combat.”
After giving his short introduction he would then remove the bow from off of his back before pointing at a set of three targets in the distance. The first target was a mere 5 meters away, while the next target had a considerably higher distance being 15 meters away. The third and final target was the furtherest away being 25 meters from where the boy stood. He would then withdraw his grimoire and it would begin to float next to him as he would then let off a smile before turning back to face the captains up in the stands. “I shall start my demonstration by using my magic to show my archery and magical skill at once by using magical arrows to hit the targets.”
The pages of Echo’s grimoire would then begin to flip and turn until reaching the spell he wanted to cast. The book would then generate 4 orbs of light which Echo would transform into magical light arrows, which would float next to his grimoire until he would grab them out the air one by one. He would grab the first arrow loading it into his bow, before firing it at the first target. He would hit the target right on the mark with seemingly no difficulty, before he would move onto the next target hitting its center all the same. Moving on to the last target he would fire his arrow hitting just a few centimeters off from a perfect bullseye. He would scoff at himself a bit for having such inconsistent aim but would hope none of the captains would notice such a small miscalculation.
He would then look back up into the stands saying “For the next part of my demonstration, I have enlisted the aid of 3 of the magic knights you have allowed me to show off my hand to hand combat skill, along with my Physical Reinforcement magic.” Echo’s grimoire would once again flip and turn the pages, until it landed on the next spell he was about to use. The book would create two orbs of light, which one orb would then latch itself on to the red head before surrounding him as a sort of light aura. Echo would then say “This spell is called light speed. Most people know that light magic is one of the fastest magics around and this spell takes full advantage of said speed. And this is only level one, but by raising the power put into the spell just a tad bit and stacking it…” The second orb of light would then do the same thing as the first one, making the bright white aura even brighter than it was before.
“I create light speed level three, by combining my light speeds level one and two. Now to show you the great speed of light!” Echo had told the magic knights to place themselves anywhere in the arena space as long as they were 20 meters away from each other and 20 meters away from him at start. The red head would then charge forward with nothing but his bare fist going after the closest of the 3 knights. Seeing as his speed was now bolstered to almost 40 m/s, and the first knight was only 20 meters away he would reach the man in half a second flat. Once he got within range he would aim a punch directly at his face and a kick to his midsection before the knight could even react. He would push forward making his way to the next knight who had increased his distance and readiness after seeing the first attack. However even with his increased distance it only took Echo maybe 3/4ths of a second to reach this man, which he would easily dispatch just as he did the first. There was only one target left and it was at this point Echo thought he could use the opportunity to show off the other side of his reinforcement magic. Looking up at the stands one more time he would say to the captains “Not only do I use light to increase my speed but also my strength.” His grimoire would then turn to the very next page in the book before it would expel yet another ball of light, only this time Echo would grab the light in his hands before crushing it with great force. The light would then travel onto his body creating strange scale like markings. These white scale marks along with his white aura made for a brilliant showing indeed, at the very least appearance wise. With both his strength and speed now augmented Echo would charge forward at the last target giving him one fast and powerful kick to the gut which would sweep him off his feet, and knock the wind out of him.
Echo would then smile as he spoke to the captains one last time saying “Now with 2 of my magic types shown I shall show you the last, but my favorite one… Sensory magic. For this one I don’t need any targets or anything. All you simply have to do is watch.” After he spoke he would dispel his reinforcement spells before continuing on. Echo would then begin to look in his grimoire searching for the spells he wanted himself to add a bit of suspense as the captains would have to wait a few moments to see the next spells. After finding the pages where his sensory spells were located he would point one finger into the air as if a light bulb went off before saying “Ok first spell Hunter’s map!” A ball of light would come from the grimoire, before it would break apart into a 3-D map of the area which included people and objects. “Next spell Hunter’s Light Bending.” Taking his middle and index finger and tapping them to his head he would turn invisible to the eye. Of course those with high enough sensory would see through such a thing but it was still a nifty spell. Speaking once more he would say “Final spell Light’s Shimmering Dream.” Echo’s body would then emit a bright white light, which would place everyone in range within an illusion. Using the power of the illusion he would create 3 copies of himself before the real him would pull out a cigarette and then spark it using the heat of his light magic.
Turning back to face the captains one last time as he dispelled his previously casted spells he would say to them “Thank you all so much for your time, and for allowing me to show of my many skillsets. I hope you all think highly of me.” He would then perform a bow or Ojigi, showing his gratitude and thankfulness before he would exit to allow the next candidate to perform their demonstration.
