Hans was currently in the waiting area, awaiting his turn. This was the portion of the exams where the candidates have to demonstrate their abilities with their magic which the dark mage was confident about...for the most part. Hans has been training hard prior to this, not only for the exams but for the inevitable battle against the Archdaemons. The dark mage has quite a few things running around in his mind recently. Training, daemons...a wedding. Hans has not had a moment to rest, but he was no stranger to working with little to no rest due to the life he used to live. It was a new experience, but operated the same as the old. But if he was being honest...Hans wasn't really looking forward to having to do this in front of so many people, but...the guy has to do what he has to do.
One of the people assisting with the exams approached Hans who was currently leaning against a wall with his eyes closed and arms crossed. "You're up." the guy said, causing Hans to get off of the wall and open his eyes, giving the guy a bit of a nod. "Thanks." the dark mage said before walking out, heading straight into the arena.
As Hans entered the arena, there was a mix of cheers and boos coming from most of the crowd. At this point, Hans was pretty well-known in both name and his title of being the "Nightfall Swordsman". Of course, not everyone who knew the man was thrilled to see him, specifically some folks from this very town of Kikka or who were connected to it. Not everyone saw the people who came in to take back Kikka from the daemons as heroes, and Hans couldn't blame them. The dark mage still felt bad, but he wasn't going to let that get to him...not now.
Hans looked around a bit at the audience quietly, before shifting his attention to the captains, the ones that he is really meant to impress. "My name is Hans Walker, and I am here to demonstrate my magic as well as how I utilize it." The dark mage claimed, his voice loud and his tone stoic as well as confident. "I thank you for having me here." The dark mage said, giving a proper bow before taking a step back.
Hans grimoire flew out of its holster, revealing the four-leaf clover on the front cover. This got a reaction out of most of the people in the audience due to how rare these types of grimoires were, some even considering them to be myths. Hans was certainly not the first person so show up in the exams with such a grimoire, and he was definitely not going to be the last, but they were still an interesting thing witness. Hans understood this, but at the same time did not really think much about this since he believes that true strength comes from the mage, not just their grimoire.
A dark aura surrounded the man's grimoire and opened up, causing a similar aura to form around Hans. "My magic allows me to command the element of darkness." Hans claimed just as the aura shifted, forming into shape similar to a hunter's cloak. "I can use my darkness to enhance myself as well as others." he claimed as his grimoire flipped to another page, and his shoes were then coated in an aura that resembles a hunter's boots. Training dummies made out of various magical elements were then erected all around the dark mage, and the man wasted no time with charging at each and every one of them with his increased speed, crushing each of them with well-placed strikes, utizling his enhanced strength.
After this, two Magic Knights entered the arena, both using their own physical reinforcement spells to increase their speeds. They ran around the dark mage, but with his ki senses, he was able to follow their movements easily. He then fired off another spell in the form of dark chains from both his palms, timing it right so that they would constrict around both of the knights' legs. Once caught, they would start to slow down which was very clear compared to their orginal speeds. "I can also use my darkness to restrain others." Hans said before lifting those spells off of the two mages, as well as the reinforcement spells from himself. He then stretched his arms out on both sides, and the dark aura still surrounding Hans would slowly run down his arms before leaving the man completely, forming to separate masses of darkness. Both darknesses would then morph around and shape into two sword-like golems with pitch black blades.
"I can also form various golems." Hans then gestured to both his golems before using his mana tethers to make them fly around, doing various slashes and other maneuvers with them on more training dummies that have been summoned. Once those dummies were destroyed, Hans called those golems back into his grimoire, and rose one of his hands up into the air, summoning two different golems. Both of them were giant red-eyed ravens that looked similar for the most part, but had a few differences. One was a bit more armored and held more of a wise, stoic-like expression, while the other was slightly smaller in comparison...but appeared more fierce. More training dummies were summoned, but these types had an ability to fire off a projectile made out of the same element as the dummy. Some of the training dummies fired at Hans, but the man kept his cool.
"Protect." Hans said calmly, causing his armored raven golem to spread one of its wings out in front of Hans, using it to effortlessly deflect those incoming projectiles. "Attack." Hans commanded his hostile golem, and it swooped in, shredding those dummies to pieces with its talons and beak.
Once these dummies were destroyed, Hans snapped his fingers and those two golems vanished, leaving a dark smoke. "As you see, my magic is capable of a variety of feats, but my specialty lies in..." Before Hans could finish, one of the two magic knights from earlier attempted to fire a lightning spell at the dark mage, but without looking, Hans placed a palm up in the direction of the spell, and summoned a glass-like barrier of darkness that was seethrough. The lightning spell collided with that barri1r instead, doing no damage at all. ...defense creation."
Three more magic knights then came into the arena, all prepared to fire their magic at the dark mage. Hans took a brief look around at all of them before summoning two more glass-like dark barriers. As each knight fired their spells, Hans quickly deflected each of them with his three barriers, moving them around whenever he needed by gesturing his hands, almost like a composer at a symphony. One spell however appeared to have got past Hans' barriers as if he missed it, but he was very much aware of it. Hans turned his attention to that spell and aimed his palm at it. Instead of a barrier, Hans summoned a black hole that instantly absorbed the spell instead of deflecting it.
Believing Hans to be distracted now, one of the magic knights attempted to charge at Hans from behind to attack him up close! Unfortunately for that knight, black holes and barriers weren't Hans' only forms of defense magic.....
Within seconds of being struck by a melee spell, Hans' dark aura ignited, rising high with tremendous power! His body was now coated in a suit of dark armor with a cape made of dark smoke that flowed behind him in the wind. The armor looked intimidating, powerful...and safe. The melee spell connected, but it did absolutely nothing to Hans. At that point, the five magic knights backed away from Hans, seeing that their attacks were futile. The dark mage looked quietly at all five of them, before slowly looking back up at the captains. "With these defense spells, I will be able to protect the kingdom from any threat as a Magic Knight." Hans claimed, that hint of confidence still in his tone. The dark armor then faded away, forming back into an aura that flew back into the man's grimoire before closing.
"Thank you." With that, Hans gave the captains another bow, before heading back, putting his demonstration to an end.

I can also be used for transportation (speed remaining at 7 m/s, and can hold up to three people). (Can summon an additional golem per 30 Control (Ease of Creation), maxing at three.)

Repose, the user's strongest Dark Armor Spell formed from the bond he was able to make with his dark magic. Through the use of their grimoire, the user coats themselves (or others) in this dark suit of armor. The armor gives off power fitting to its appearance, but also gives off a sense of calmness mostly felt by the user and his allies. Like the element it is made from, the armor is pitch black with claw-like armored gloves and a dark smoke-like aura that lingers behind it in a similar fashion to a cape. The armor's defenses are on a greater level compared to its predecessors, being extremely difficult to pierce through, but that is not the armor's only function. Those who wear this armored spell will have their physical strength amplified tremendously from the dark aura surrounding it (Archmage Strength). The armored user's physical attacks have the potential to drastically change or erase whatever it strikes, crumbling obstacles, or people to near-nothingness. (Can summon an additional suit of armor per 100 Control they have.)
