The night was still young within the Town of Silva, elegance and wealth practically dripped off of the numerous buildings that housed it's upper class men and women. High up above the ground sitting on a azure blue windowsill was the beautiful Asteria Silva, despite her negative viewing on both her mother and father Asteria often missed being at home. From the unique smell of the grand halls and her bedroom, to the huge tapestries and blueish white velvet drapes that adorned the many columns or walls. The silver haired girl let out a small sigh adjusting her positioning slightly then looked up into the starry night sky, countless bodies of celestial dust were motionless before her displaying nothing but their awestruck beauty. Wondrous colors of blue, purple, silver and pink dotted her horizon. If there was one thing she ultimately missed it was the view she was blessed to get when looking out of her window, being housed in one of the taller builds did have it's perks it seemed. [break][break] However, there was also another reason for her departure from the enchanting, magnificent castle-like structure that was the Golden Dawn headquarters. Earlier on she was tasked with a simple recon and intel mission given via her vice captain. The job wasn't anything overly daunting and if Asteria did it correctly she'd have no need for bloodshed or violence. A few miles away from the noble region was a small yet heavily guarded town called Kiten, within that town inhabited a select group of individuals calling themselves "The Widowmakers" and of course as one could imagine with a name like that they weren't selling grilled lizards. The reports brought back to the Dawn mage spoke of several powerful men being captured or killed, a lot of those powerhouses were either political or military men being flushed out in the blink of an eye. It wasn't quite clear to the Silva what methods or actions they were using to get close and cap off these people, which unnerved her yet still didn't deter the girl from doing what needed to be done. [break][break] Her original home was ever so slightly closer to the location of her job so she used that little notion as an excuse to visit, Asteria arrived late into the night and managed to attain her long lost spot at the window. Stella and Orion didn't appear to be in which made the manor feel strangely empty, even the numbers of caretakers in the house was dwindling and Asteria was under the impression that she was the cause for this. "Why couldn't you just leave her alone mother?" She moved her gaze from the skies back into her room, eyes now locked onto the amazingly drawn portrait of herself and her parents. The trio looked divine, adorned in their own Silva robes and ice cold glares which seemed to follow Asteria when she moved side to side. "Creepy as ever" She smirked to herself, checking the hands on the clock a few meters from the window. Another sigh escaped her lips as she stood up now, black boots balancing on the large sill with ease, she took a deep breath inwards and outwards all timed between a three second gap due to her readying herself. Her eyes closed now as she got closer to her tranquil state, everything around her seemed to slow down and attune itself to her being and breathing. "Time to go, I just hope this is quick and easy. Watch over me Ophelia" A quick prayer cemented her short statement, taking a long look at the distance from the ground to her window and winced. That'd be troublesome. Asteria jumped off of the windowsill in a corkscrew flip with her eyes still closed, thrusting her hand out behind her as she began to descend a whooshing sound made itself known. In the couple of seconds it took for the girl to fall, her resplendent broom flew through the air and neatly caught it's owner by flying directly underneath her. Clutching onto the wooden attachments she reopened her eyes, zooming into the skies Asteria let out a hearty laugh through the night air, obviously she did this whilst out of earshot of anybody and high into the clouds. How traumatic would it have been if someone had heard her. [break][break] Accelerating over the extensive land formations with tremendous speed Asteria had her mind set on what was to happen, any anomalies that could possibly fall into her lap and how she'd escape if caught. Going over the numerous possibilities helped calm her nerves before a job due to the fact her energy was put into thinking instead of panicking. From the description given at the time there was an estimate of either four to six members showing up tonight, the purpose of their meeting being the new target for their organization and Asteria Silva was the enchantress capable of putting a dampener in their plans. Nearing the edge of the town known as Kiten brought a few things into consideration, she would have to be careful in attracting the wrong attention as she didn't want a poor civilian getting muddled up into this plot. Then came the thoughts of an ambush in that they could be lying in wait for the Silva; this ploy being made possible by any number of conspirators within the castle walls. Although to some it would seem these concepts were outlandish they came with good reason, Asteria wasn't a paranoid girl nor did she ever go down the route of saying something without thinking about it beforehand, she was someone who wanted to think of all eventualities so she could be prepared for such problems should they come up. Nonetheless, she wasn't about to make herself go crazy, a couple hundred meters from her sky-high position her vision was able to make out a base of sorts. A handful of tents, fires, stables and wooden or straw dummies were placed in various spots throughout the dusty terrain. Swaying in the winds on a piece of flapping cloth was the symbol of a black spider, its body presenting the sign of "M" in blood red. The widowmakers. [break][break] Asteria descended onto the base of what appeared to be her targets, coming to an abrupt stop behind a group of lonely shrubs a few seconds walk from seemed to be the main hub due to the tent being significantly larger than those that surrounded it. Brandishing her midnight black cloak over her blazer and skirt she lifted the hood up and over her head, thankful she remembered to leave her Golden Dawn mantle back at the headquarters, already notified of the enemy's attention to detail. Getting caught because she was an obvious magic knight would've ruined everything and then some. Leaving her broom within the shrubs she quickly moved towards her destination, back against the tent wall she observed her surroundings. The camp looked as if it could've accommodate thirty or more Widowmakers based on the number of smaller tents and amount of fires, however linking back to the mission brief it did specify the four or six so this could've been a clever tactic forcing the enemy to believe their numbers were higher, thereby decreasing the chances of an attack or theft. Quite intelligent actually. Asteria watched as the fires ate away at the air, horses neighed and walked around their enclosure careful not to go far due to their roped muzzles. It was truly a ghost town. Then came the wide-eyed expression of the girl, voices began making themselves known within the tent she was beside, being cautious as to not alert anyone to her presence she crept over to the opening and gave a quick peek inside before withdrawing the half face mask she was provided with from her Vice. Apparently, the members of Widowmakers all wear masks depicting their ranking; Green for rookies, Yellow for seasoned members, White for veterans and Black for the four leaders. [break][break] The interior of the tent was immaculate to say the least, a large table capable of sitting twelve people stood firm in the center, dark brown oak chairs with leather padding were dotted around the table. There were weapon racks placed on either side of the tent walls and a threesome of seats dedicated to what Asteria presumed to be their leaders, those sat away from the table in their own lane. Asteria didn't hesitate to adopt to her role as quickly as possible, in the movement she followed a few others and found a seat, from her sudden appearance she was able to count sixteen members in total all with an array of different colored masks, six of those were green which coincided with the Silva's own mask. "Welcome my dear widowers, thank you for taking this opportunity up and out of the council. It would've taken us quite some time to regain the resources needed for this next mission but we managed to make do and combine our efforts with our sister clan" The tall, busty red haired lady spoke loud and proud addressing each mask in the room. Her onyc black mask was adorned with golden patterns that seemed to glisten from the fires of the lamps around the area. She folded her heavily muscular arms and spat something out of her mouth. "I'm sure you're aware of the current predicament we face sisters, there has been word of a traitorous witch within our ranks who had alerted some of those pesky magic knights to our business" Gasps and utters of frustrations littered the room, gaining a few suspicious looks from the women, even Asteria acted as if this was the most distressing news she'd ever heard, scowling at a yellow masked woman who simply shook her head. "Worry not sisters, for she has been culled...I am ashamed to admit that it was none other than Mistress Eris, my own flesh and blood. According to her, our methods were too horrific and dangerous for her. Still...it doesn't give her the right to disrupt years of progression, years of damnation and setbacks all for the sake of her unjust cause. So with that I, Scarlet Drake express to you all here today that if you have a problem with the way we do things, step forward. You will not be harmed" At first no one stood, the crowd was quiet and still as if everyone were in a Mexican standoff. Eyes flitted from witch to witch, sussing one another out and determining what the final options would be. Before Scarlet could continue her speech a blonde haired mage stood up, this one had on a green mask, she raised her hand and coughed a little bit before speaking. "I wonder if it's possible Mistress Scarlet, if we were not to kill our prisoners but instead let them go once we've gotten our information?" Her cute, shrill voice barely made it to the ears of her fellow members. Scarlet simply stared at the blonde woman and looked her up and down, before she could make out another word a lightning bolt was ejected from the clenched fist of Scarlet and sent directly into the chest of the blonde rookie. Asteria could do nothing but watch on as the hyper jeers from the other mages rattled her insides, the smell of burnt flesh crawled up her nose and nearly made her heave. A twosome of yellow masked witches left their seats and removed the struck woman from the tent to a different location. [break][break] "Well that was unfortunate, anyways moving swiftly on" Scarlet sighed annoyingly and regained her composure quickly addressing her crew. "As I was saying, our target for this week is none other than a wizard you all know so well, Blizzard, he was the man who gave you that scar and Medusa was he not the same man who removed those limbs of yours?" The white masked members each grimaced at the spoken facts and touched their battle wounds with pained expressions. "That man ladies of mine, is none other than Orion Silva" Asteria's ears pricked up immediately, for a split second she thought she had heard wrong, why would these spiders want anything to do with her father? He wasn't a threat, or was it quite the contrary? Still she had to keep calm and cool in this moment otherwise she'd be risking a lot more than a shot at her father's life. "We strike in seven days, less if we can get the our weapons sourced in time. The drop off point is at Sosshi, from there we'll move between the towns, I want Alphas to move in on Hage, Bravos go to Aries Garse, Charlies touch up on Hapshass then finally the Deltas move on Kikka. From the reconnaissance, provided its successful we'll meet back up at the Rogues Refuge, you all each have four days to get what we need from the connections in those respective towns, be careful and understand the assignment down to the tee. There are no room for mistakes or failures. If you're captured...you know what to do. On the seventh day, we strike the Town of Silva. This will be the time we send our message, look for the white doves on every second day to signify our completion rate. This'll no doubt be our biggest mission yet, do not fail me my Widowmakers. Be quick, time is of the essence" Scarlet's awesome voice powered her women down to their cores and ignited a passion within them that was similar to the Crimson Lions regiment, interesting to say the least. All around her the different masked members got up from their seats and made their way to the opening leading out into the crisp clean air. Asteria followed suit, making sure not to lock eyes with the black masked member Scarlet or the whites who stayed behind. [break][break] The Widowmakers began their preparations, some flew straight to the stables readying their horses, some were in the mess tent bringing together rations and supplies for the road ahead whilst the rest were doing the listings for the designated groups. Wasting no time Asteria perceived her current setting and slowly made her way to the shrubs she had left before, still on edge from the notion her father was to be assassinated and her hometown was now the placement of a would be siege sent her mind in spirals, but she knew she needed to pull herself together otherwise she'd have done all of this for nothing. Whipping her mask and cloak off she shoved them into the crooked enclosed bushes hiding her involvement, gripping the long wooden appendage of her broom she backed off into the woods still keeping her gaze on the enemies, watching them flit about in a hurry. This situation needed immediate remedy, her squad and all the others were no doubt going to be put on red alert in hopes of hastily sorting the incoming attack. Asteria hopped onto the broom and hobbled into the air for a minute before literally blasting off from whence she came. Her brain couldn't begin to fathom her father dying, it seemed like an improbable outcome and she'd hope as soon as he returned with word from her espionage that everything would be alright. She could only pray.
