Romeo was exhilaration personified after his very first civilian mission with Artemis of the Green Mantis Knight Squad. He truly hadn’t expected to be so fired up after meeting with her and the beckoning to try out for the Magic Knight Exam but she seemed honest and caring? Traits he hadn’t expected of Magic Knights, especially after she shared of hard work being the most important trait, to her at least. The nobility existed but it wasn’t the end all, be all. [break][break] However, Romeo might’ve been a teenager, but he wasn’t simply naïve to kind of thing. One positive role model did not make up for the hordes of Magic Knights who were unethical and rude. The only point he’d consider is that if he were to get in, if being the important word, that he’d be a knight to speak up for his small town outside of Kikka. There was still so much to think about, there hadn’t even been an announcement yet for the Magical Knight Exam but she was an insider, she’d know of these things. It was something the man would have to mull over, considering he still had his own chores at home to do with tilling the farms and harvesting rice for the nobility miles away and yet still in eyesight of their tiny village. [break][break] “ Yes mama, I’ll deliver the rice today. I can do it, promise. ” His words filled with hope, practically pleading to his own mother who seem skeptical that he’d want to do such a difficult part of their job. It was quite the burden as they only had mule to help cart their grains of rice to the capital and sometimes the driver had to push as they’d get stuck in puddles or other issues due to the dilapidated roads but once again, Romeo had a secret plan. He’d quickly look at some of the missions that he could do and try to knock one out as quickly as possible so that he could get back to his family. He couldn’t tell them yet of his new part-time gig. Romeo would wait a few weeks, gather a collection of Yul and present it to his family. Even if he hadn’t been a magic knight (by choice or of failure of the exam), he knew he wanted to manifest his power even more and would do whatever was necessary to do so. [break][break]And that was the only reason the teenager had been up at the literal crack of dawn, darkness still consumed the skies as he rubbed the belly of their mule, Rannie, to wake her up for their morning duties. After settling her in and harnessing her with the wagon, Romeo quickly snuck into the tool shed, moved around a couple of the boxes and grabbed his new broom that he got from the old man, something he’d cherish for years to come. The teenager patted his grey grimoire and hopped on and with a mighty yawn, they were off traversing the roads where massive bumps and rogue attacks were far too common. [break][break]An hour and a half later, Romeo had finished delivering the grain to the nobles that they had been in contract with and now, the tricky part began. This would be risky as hell but, Romeo brought Rannie out of the city and into the forests that had been hidden and secluded in a burned down farmhouse that he knew a lot of people wouldn’t expect to find anything in anymore as it had been ransacked years ago. “ Rannie, don’t move from here, okay? I’ll be back as soon as possible. ” He petted the mule’s face as he threw a bale of hay over to her for food and set her in place with a trellis for water if she needed it. He’d be in so much damn trouble if he didn’t get back to her but they’d get too suspicious if he left whenever he wanted. The man had about two hours before he needed to get back, that would just need to be enough time. [break][break]Gripping onto his broomstick, the man practiced quite a bit and at least could go in a straight line without wobbling too much if he had both hands on the broom. After five minutes, he had been back in the city and headed straight for the mission board and noticed a mission labeled BEARY HAIRY PROBLEMS that seemed like it’d be easy enough to complete, he hoped. Romeo quickly signed up for the mission and noticed where it seemed to be. With a quickness he’d never expressed before, the teenager hopped back onto his broomstick and scouted the forests in which he was at before, his eyes noticing Rannie before a large cave seemed to be tucked deeper into the forest. [break][break]Romeo zoomed in close with a quickened pace, the teenager was landing too hot and as he tried to stick the landing ended up twisting and rolling onto the grass until he hit a rock with his back. A large oof escaped from his lips as he stood back up, hoping no one saw and took a moment to lick his wounds while the roaring grunts of something sinister could be heard stirring from deep within the cave. ” At least it seems like I found the culprit. ” Romeo mused, humour trying to distact from how sore his body was from his brutal landing.

Clank! Clank! Clank!...
The sound made of a hammer that's baninging against hot steel. Akaza was a little known blacksmith that lived along the outskirts of the Clover Kingdom. He made a living providing for his family by selling the item he's create. Some of these item would even be imbued with magical properties. It was the least that he could do to lend his hand into helping a kingdom that accepted him as a young boy. Though he had always had the fire within him never become a knight for the fact that he married early and his child had become sickly at a young age. While wanting to have a bigger role within the kingdom he had to place his family first and tend to their needs. His wife was was born of a commoners blood and too was needed as much at home as Akaza himself. She would manage to take care of their child's needs and upkeep the home while Akaza would other things such as hunt, trade, and weapons crafting. The lives of the two were manageable but for sure wasn't pretty.
Times had begin to get tougher while the weapons sales had dropped lower than normal and it seemed as if the hunt for livestock had moved further and further away. One day Akaza had come home a bit earlier than usual from haunting a wild boar. Honey I'm home!!! The usual saying as he'd walk in but this time there was no hug, kiss, or greeting. Suspicion had occurred within him to search through his home and find the reasoning behind the silence. After dropping the boar at the front door he'd walked straight into his child's room only to find his wife standing above his daughter crying silently as the child sleeps. Honey what's wrong? He asked softly in hopes to not wake the child. Still frantic his his wife would grabbed his hand as whispered into his ear. Come with me. She then led Akaza out of the room into a place better for the two to have a conversation.
Baby, as you were out today the local doctor came by to do a regular check up on Kana. He said that her condition has not only gotten worse but if we can't find a way for her to get the help she needs it's very possible that she won't make it. She could hardly get the words through her cracking voice. Akaza was dumbfounded as he had not a thought of what to do in such situation. He knew that things weren't to well but he was already doing the best he could just to get by. He also said the only person that could possibly help resides in the Royal Family; and you know what the royals think of us commoners. How are going to help our poor Kana? She would then gush out even harder as she'd lay her face upon Akaza face. A sudden spark would fire inside of Akaza that he thought was long gone and an idea had come about. He grazed his hand through his wifes hair until it was firmly gripped behind her head pulling her close. Honey, I know what I have to do. She would sniffle and he eyes would water before telling her the plan. I'm going to go to the kingdom and I'll recognized by the knights no matter what it takes. I'll get the royal family to notice my name and take a liking to it. During this time I'll send you the money I earn back every week. I'll stay in contact and once I've reached a status high enough I'll get the kingdom to cure our Kana. He then tilts her head back looking into her eyes. I'm not sure how long this will take but I will make this work. I will save Kana not matter what. All I need from you is to watch over her until that job is done. Can you do that? He'd go on and ask. With bubbled up eye sockets she'd reply simply. Yes, I'll do that.
With that Akaza let go of his spouse and prepared for the journey that is soon to be. Ha had first washed himself off and put on a new set of threads that were better suited for both meet and greets and action. The outfit was something a little more flashy to make him stand out amongst a crowd of people. He was after all trying to be noticed by the kingdom's royalty. He then would grab his favorite set of weapons a shortbow and a maul hammer and then attach them onto himself. Lastly he'd open his closet and pull down a secret door in which he had hidden his grimoire. I never thought that day would come that I'd have to use this. Akaza thought to himself. He typically had done everything the hard way always refusing to use magic as a crutch on hunts. He felt that it built character but in this instance he knew that the situation was much bigger than his own personal feelings. Akaza had a job to so and even if it mean to break is own moral code he would stop at nothing to provide for his family.
Leaving his home he would think back Akaza and had remembered a poster he had saw within the village of a nearby bear that resides in a cave close to home. It was a mission sent down by the kingdom for someone to remove it by choice or by force. Apparently the knights of the kingdom had bigger fish to fry than some random bear. Hmmm, I wonder if that bear has been removed. Akaza pondered that this would be his first step into notoriety. I shall go seek to collect this bounty and use this bears hyde as clothing and meat for the belly. This will be the first step. The plan was set and considering that he was so headstrong once his mind was set on something the tast isn't over until it's completed. This would also give Akaza who's already a credible hunter in his own right a chance to re-establish his skills in the arts of magic.
It wasn't long before had finally reached his destination. Footracks of the man beast were imprinted into the soil. Akaza could smell the stench of wet grass and lingering urine in the air. He would reach back a grip the maul he had prepared for the trip. You could call him insane to think he could take down the likes of a bear single handedly with only a blunt weapon. Akaza however had taken on many beast throughout his lifetime and feared not of death nor defeat. Standing ready he'd attempt to lure the beast out of his hiding. Sucking in a large amount of oxygen filling his lung capacity Akaza would then let out a thunderous scream. Wahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
There was a short moment of an odd silence before the beast would respond with a thunderous roar of its own. RAWR!!!! Exited he was with every heartbeat as his adrenaline pumped harder and harder. Akaza would take a warriors stance tightly gripping his weapon prepared for what he felt should be a battle to remember. The ground had began to vibrated softly in a trampling cadence. Suddenly large grizzly had come running full speed from within the shadows before stopping about twenty meters away Akaza to lets out it's final roar of warning. RAWR!!!!! The hunt has officially began. Who would win man or beast?
After taking a few minutes to regain his composure, Romeo had been surprised that it had been so easy to find the cave in which he expected the bear to live. From the concurrent noises from both the grizzly roars mixed with the ambiance of the forest, it seemed as though the target had been the only apex predator nearby and that’s how it had been able to grow with such a rapid pace. The teenager took a moment, squatting down against the grassy hills of the forest as he did a quick sweep of his surroundings to try and pick up and clues or hints that nature was willing to share. Something small he learned from being a farmer’s son, there was so much to glean from mother nature when someone was attuned and keen to the language of the earth. The grassy, which should’ve been somewhat overgrown, seemed to have been fairly low and trampled with patches of long grasses which meant that this area seemed to only have large animals stepping through. This had been the bear’s home and none of the smaller beasts seem to even try to head over in this direction. A bush of berries that had been left alone, otherwise it seemed secluded enough without too much peasant interaction from gathering. This should’ve been a single fight with a beast. [break][break] “ Alright, I guess it’s time to just do our best. ” Rekindling his courage and faith in his own ashy abilities, his eyes were a bit surprised to catch a man walking directly for the cave and released a mighty roar into the cave. It felt like thunder, the boom of the skies from a mere mortal. How peculiar. Romeo kept his distance for now, he couldn’t know what the other had planned or if he seemed noble enough to not attack a poor teenager who barely began to figure out the extent of his magic. Keeping himself low, he gripped onto his broomstick with one hand and unclasped his grimoire with the second in case he needed a quick escape. [break][break] The man seemed to change his position and gripped onto his weapon with a steel of courage securing his body to fight. From the cave, the mighty bear seemed to step into the light before releasing a final warning shot to tell this man to leave him alone right now. It didn’t seem like the other had any desires to do so. [break][break] “ Screw it. ” Romeo muttered as he left his broomstick behind one of the bushes and rushed out behind the man who was about to fight with the grizzly who moved closer by 15 meters and once again, stood his ground. “ Figured we could both take him on, I was after him too. ” The teenager rose his grey grimoire standing 5 meters behind the man before casting his spell. “ Ashunder. ” From his spell book, ash begins to form into two large serrated farming knifes before it’s sent directly at the bear slashing against it’s side to inform him that combat has been initiated and pushing the bear back by 7 meters, if it hits. " You're up, dude. Show him what you're made of. " Pleasantries could wait for later, right now all Romeo wanted to do was prove to himself that he had been capable of defeating one of the civilan mission's beasts. If the two of them could down this bear, it might that he was one step closer to feeling ready for the Magic Knights Exam.
[break][break]spell used[break] ashunder - 10 mana - one junior level damage[break]
After speaking the spell's name, the user is able to manifest ashes that escape from the grimorie into looking like a serrated knife (1 cubic meter in mass) used for rice paddy farming that he can control and aim for up to 25 meters. The ash-created knife is able to push back a target or spells currently by 7 meters if it hits.

The stage was set and things were about to reach it's climax. Sweat would build up and roll down the back to Akaza's neck. The sweat was not of fear but more due to pure adrenaline built up within him causing his bodily temperature to rise. Fearless, Akaza stood tall for the brawly of a man he was making direct eye contact with the beast. He was tightly gripping his mauling hammer to the point of nearly causing calluses to appear on his hands. His knees were slightly bent and loose enough to make a quick spring action if attacked head on. The bear then let out it's final roar...RAWR!!! Suddenly, a knife had come zooming by him aimed for the bear, nicking it just enough to knock it back and throw it off balance.
Figured we could both take him on, I was after him too. A person behind Akaza would say. Taking note to it but also still cautious of the beast before him Akaza glanced back quickly. There was a boy who stood not too far behind him still in a stance of firing a magic spell. You're up, dude. Show him what you're made of. In just that split second he'd dissect the boy and come up with his own predijustice. You sure don't look like a hunter; have you any idea what you just did!?!? Akaz would shout. I appreciate the help but if you're going to kill the thing then kill it! It was apparent that Akaza wasn't too pleased with approach of battle the young man presented.
Suddenly a bright blue aura would lumiate from the bear as it would then start to rise to its feet. It took a quick furiously shake to throw off some of the inflicted pain. The ground beneath it then begin to crackle and the pressure from the aura started to make it give away. It would then force it's claws to extend out a little further while showing it's fang ready for attack. The pressure of the air would intensify causing Akaza's stitch of doubt. The bear then launched itself with a blasting running start headed straight for Akaza. Slightly startled Akaza would act off of impulse alone. He too ran straight toward the animal and screamed. Do something now boy!!!
As the man and beast would clash about nine meters away from the boy; the bear would take a diving right-handed strike looking to kill right away. Akaza however to counter this Akaza would dip and dash to the bears right side. In that process he would also swing his hammer crush it right into the bears ribcage as hard as he could. This caused the bear to again have a slight stumble, losing its footing, and sliding to about four meters from where the boy was standing. This would only to piss it off even more and Akaza could only hope the boy had something up his sleeve. If bad things had begin to become worse Akaza would take out his grimoire incase it would be needed in the moment.
As things would turn out the boy had become frozen with fear. Akaza saw no point in blaming the young lad; as one who simply isn't used to this style of life could easily crumble when death knocks at the door. The bear then started to try and pick itself up. It was noticeably hurt as one could tell by the staggering attempts to stand still. Akaza saw this as the perfect opportunity the finally put the bear down permanently. The thing had done enough damage already and Akaza was doing to end it now. Flipping his grimoire through its pages until the perfect spell found was to do the job. He would chant out the spells name. Water Creation: Water Gun!!! His hand would slowly rise until it was parallel with the surface below. Then his fingers would take form imitating a gun with the index pointing and thumb in the sky. A small droplet of water started to concentrate itself at the end of the index. The water grew larger and larger by the second until it would about the size of a tiny stone before Akaza would release it directly at the grizzly's face. RAWR!!! A big mistake to roar as the flying bullet went straight inside the bears mouth knocking it woozy once more. That was enough for Azaka to rush the bear and deviler the final blow with his hammer on it's head killing it on spot.
