[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Since Kikka a new grand mana zone had been found within the Fringe, it strengthened those who used shadow and dark magic but because of just how dangerous people believed the place to no one had ventured deep enough into the place to be able to map it. She could understand why the apprehension as it just turned up out of nowhere after Sven's shadow palace was destroyed. Her captain's family had taken residence within the mana zone which was a smart move as this place would likely boost any threat within it and as the Blake's all seemed to be born with the shadow element in of way so it would help them fend off threats. It also allowed them to keep an eye on things as if this was like the shadow that engulfed Kikka it would try to consume more and more land, that was quite the scary thought. [break][break] She had been conscripted by the Wizard King himself to join the Royal Knights, she was making a name for herself in regards to her support skills. She had actually met a person who knew her squad, her name and what she was good at, it was a feeling she didn't ever believe she would ever get used to. It turned out that her normal squad captain was the captain that she would also have as a Royal Knight, this didn't bother her much as she believed it better to work with people that understood her, and oh boy did he understand her better than most. During their first training session, he had rattled the cage of a slumbering darkness within her, it had cursed him to feel the emotions that she was feeling so he may get some sense of compassion for others. She was still confused about this. [break][break] Within the first week of training, she had been called away due to a family emergency, it wasn't quite an emergency but it really was something that had shaken her. Her friend Echo's family had come to meet her father in the attempt to get the pair betrothed, due to certain actions her father had denied the request. He had offered them to remain within one of the palaces within the estate but that didn't happen as there was a small altercation between Echo's family and Valo that had the former group leave. To be honest, given what had happened in the cursed forest she was surprised that Echo's family wanted to betroth them as they hated magic knights and other than her older brother Jirou every other member was indeed a magic knight. He had even grown cold towards her when he had seen her mantle which almost scared her. [break][break] As she was going to return back to training it turned out festivities and other things were going to be taking place, her family was even helping to host one with three other prominent families. It was both exciting but it made her nervous as well, Valo had found out about the beach party and had invited her. He said that it would be their first real date, which had made her blush and she had agreed to meet him there. Her family did everything through betrothals but she wasn't always in her world so it was fine for her to experience things within his, or so she hoped. She had taken Luli and went to get some clothes from the Royal Capital that would be more fitting for the occasion but wouldn't show too much flesh and had even managed to find something more in keeping with her families style. [break][break] During that first day, she had gotten orders to go investigate people going missing and had done so but due to everything going on for her, the details were a bit blurry at current but she'd likely remember if she read over her report again. She had been given a further few days before training for the fight ahead would start once again, instead of going home or enjoying the festivities she decided to go to the Fringe and walk to her captain's estate making notes of things she saw along the way in the hopes to help those wanting to investigate in more detail. She really didn't like the dark in general and she knew if Junjie, Valo or her captain seen her walking alone in this place she would get more than a stern talking to. The three men knew she was capable but they all worried for her. [break][break] There were floating pieces of rock, parts of destroyed graveyards and buildings, to her it was like nightmares coming to life. She was being careful as she didn't want to disrupt anything or bring attention to herself as she moved forward. Her sensory was terrible, she couldn't deny this so that didn't exactly help but add to her anxiety. She held onto the sleeves of her spring green and white hanfu as she continued on her journey only stopping to make notes or sketch a quick image of something if she felt it important. She hadn't even noticed that she had ended up on a floating piece of rock and continued walking without too much worry, that was until she heard whispers that made her stop and look around it was then she saw a set of glowing red orbs looking at her which made her back away from them slowly as more appeared. [break][break] If it had been a single mana beast then she would have been able to shield herself from it, but there were more than she believed she could shield against and so hoped if she didn't make any sudden movements she'd be fine. She was wrong as the first one who had spotted her had dashed forward making her stumble over her own feet as the others followed. This stumble would cost her more than a few bumps and bruises as she fell off the floating path she had found herself on and falling to the ground beneath. Her mind was in complete panic mode as she watched those glowing red eyes fade away almost as if they had never been there, her mind trying to think what it should do but nothing helpful was coming to mind. [break][break] Before she knew it she had landed hard on the ground, she would have screamed out in pain but her head had hit a spiked rock hard which caused her to be knocked out, her head bleeding quite badly due to the injury it had received. Hours had gone by and nothing seemed to even approach the unconscious doll-like mage, eventually, she awoke wincing her hand going to her head making her wince more as searing pain travelled through her head. She sat for a few moments looking around her eyes showing despair and fright, she had no idea where the hell she was, then again she didn't exactly know who she was either. After a few more minutes she attempted to stand only to fall back down again, her balance was off and her body ached but she had no idea why. Instead of trying again, she started to crawl on all fours until she got near to something that could support her. [break][break] She eventually got to a tree and used it to get to her feet though she was feeling sick and dizzy, her eyes once again started to look around. She was frightened at the nightmare that she had found herself within. Then again she was without memories so she just started to believe that this was perhaps how the world looked, biting her lip she slowly started to walk stopping every few steps as she felt like she was going to fall over. She hoped that she would find someone soon, hopefully, they knew her and could help her remember things because right now she was at a loss. She just wanted to break down and cry but something told her that someone would be disappointed in her if she did and so she continued forward in the hopes to find a solution to her current predicament.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp]
Echo was fresh off his disqualification from the Magic Knight Exams, his mind was still in a state of rage. He had came to Kikka with his father and elder brother but after they watched him shame the family, and his very position as heir he had left the town alone. He needed some time to think, and time to look into these darker and darker urges he had been having. The urges of rage and anger would end up bring the boy to the shadowland grand magic zone. Echo had never been here before but as a survivalist and a hunter he did not steer away. [break][break] He spent a great amount of time here just seeping in the dark magic that constantly moved about the zone. Over the few days he had spent here he had killed countless mana beast, with little to no remorse or worry. With every kill and every hour spent in the grand magic zone Echo had felt more in tune with his ‘dark side’, almost succumbing completely to all the dark feelings he felt. Almost every once of this hatred aimed at the magic knights, he wanted to see them wiped off the map. He viewed them all as corrupt and filthy, all but a few. It was no secret Echo was still head over heels for Hinota, and he definitely couldn’t forget that his brother too was a magic knight. [break][break] These were just slight problems he would have to fix before he could go on his plan to destroy the organization, or maybe those could be vital keys to him completing his task. Only time could tell but what he did know is that he had a few special people he wanted to kill, however as he thought on the list he knew how hard it would be to complete the task. Echo had used the blood of a nearby mana beast he had slain, to write on a small slip of paper the names of those he knew he was going to kill no matter the cost. Looking at the list the names were listed: Valo Stark, Griswold, Sol Shinryu, Johnathan Jaegar, Alyssa Lillygate. As he looked at the names he made a devilish smirk while pointing at Griswold’s name and saying “You more than anybody deserve to die! How dare you humiliate me! A got damn commoner with such a unblessed magic.” [break][break] It was then he would hear a scream through the thick black magic in the air. Using his sensory he could locate exactly where the scream had come from, and even who it was as the mana signature was very familiar. *Hino?* He thought to himself as he would activate his light speed level 3 spell so that he could quickly get to his destination. Running so fast it was almost as if he was barely touching the ground as he moved, but because he was blindly running and not thinking he had managed to run right into a magical trap of the mana zone. The trap had sprung forth a black cloud of shadow magic that would whisk Echo away to a whole new location, ever further away from Hinota. Hours would go past before Echo would be able to find his way back to where he was and be able to locate Hino’s mana signature. [break][break] When he found her he would look at her as she looked almost as if she was a newborn to the world, in other words she looked lost and confused. Echo would approach from a distance taking note of her appearance. Her outfit was beautiful as always befitting someone of her station, and her face too was also beautiful as always. However one thing that ruined everything was the fact that the girl had clearly suffered some sort of head injury while in the mana zone. As Echo approached he would wave while saying “Hinota is that you or do I need glasses?”
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She had continued to wander her eyes remaining away from her head as the last time she touched it, it had caused her pain, her hair had been matted around where the wound was and her clothing showed itself to be dirty from her fall and subsequent crawling. She felt so lost and confused, she couldn't remember a thing but something was telling her to continue forward. She was hoping that would lead her to someone who could help because the noises around her were scaring her to the point she wanted to break down and cry. It had been hours and she was still as lost as before, she was about to just give up and rest for a while when she heard a voice. Instinctively she moved behind a nearby tree and peeked from behind it looking in the direction the voice came from, her eyes showed her fear. [break][break] She looked the red-haired male up and down, so far he didn't seem like he was ready to attack her but she was going to remain where she was just in case. "A... are you real?" she whispered her voice shaking mirroring the look she was giving him, tears falling from her eyes. "I... I don't know where I am, why I'm here or where I'm going." she confessed to him clearly upset over the situation. "Who... who are you? Do you know me? I... I don't remember my name..." she burst out into tears as she slid down to her knees not coming out behind the tree. She was completely at a loss as much as she would like to deny it she just couldn't, she tried to talk more but all that was coming out was senseless noise as currently, she was too emotional over her situation. [break][break] She didn't even know if the person she was talking to was real or just something there to play yet another horrible trick on her, there had been whispers and howls that had caused her to run and fall over the last few hours. Things she approached that looked friendly originally gave the most terrifying and malicious looks she could ever remember seeing and given she remembered nothing she just believed that nothing had ever looked at her with murderous intent before. She didn't want to be in its place it was dark and scary after a few minutes she managed to calm herself just a little "I... I'm real, I... I don't want to be here. It's scary. Can... can you show me how to get somewhere safe?" she begged him hoping that he was a real person and would be willing to help her get out of this place and back to a place where maybe someone knew her so they could get her home or to people who knew her.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp]
“Are you real?” She asked and Echo was entirely put off. *Such an odd question.. what is wrong with her?* He would then look her in the eyes as much as he could saying “Yes, I am real its me Echo…” His words lingered. The girl would then go on to say how she had no clue on where she was or even who she was for that matter.Echo’s eyes widened almost as if he was in utter disbelief. He could tell something had happened to her here but the fact that her injury was so severe was crazy. [break][break] Echo would walk over to Hinota slowly, holding his hands up and away from his weapons on his side. As he walked over he would speak saying “Hinota its me Echo, we know each other. I don’t know how you got to this place but im here to save you and bring you home. I tracked you down by your mana signature.” As he got closer to her he would smile ever so gently and that was when it happened. [break][break] Something within his mind snapped and it almost felt as if time had stopped to him, as Echo had entered into a conversation with his darker half. “This is what you been waiting for big guy! God just gave you a gift and seat it on your lap. Got rid of the human doll’s memory and sent her right to you, she is vulnerable you need to take advantage in every way you can!” Echo would look round in what would be considered his mindscape and see nothing but a room with one singular light source. The rest of the room covered in shadows and those shadows are where Echo’s darker half rested. Nothing could be seen but the two eyes of the being as Echo spoke back saying “You… You have yet to tell me your name, yet you think you can order me to do things. What gives you the right?” The darker half would laugh almost maniacally before saying “A name? Are you serious my guy? I am a product of your mind if anything you should have named me! But since you want me to give you a name, me name is Eclipse. That work for you?” [break][break] Echo would sigh before saying “Its real funny how you picked that name, but yeah it works I guess…” Echo felt almost powerless to this part of himself, and it probably showed as this part of Echo known as Eclipse would say “Hmm actually I think its time for me to take the wheel!” And it was then where Eclipse would seemingly take control over as the main mind of Echo. [break][break] Going right back into the conversation as no time had really passed, and nothing happened at least on the outside. Echo had taken his last few steps toward Hinota still smiling just as he had been. Taking his final step he would grab her by the hand and use his other hand forest it on the back of her head before saying to her ever so lightly “Im your fiancé… And you just do not understand how happy I am that I didn’t lose you Hinota. Just say the word and I will take you home my love!”
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Hinota remained where she was biting her lower lip, she was scared and anxious that was clear, she was surprised that the red-haired male was acting so familiar with her so she believed that if he was real perhaps that was there true. "Echo?" she whispered her voice showing confusion, it was soft almost as if she was afraid of drawing unwanted attention towards her from the beasts that called this place home. She felt so far out of her comfort zone it was unbelievable, it wasn't exactly her fault, she just couldn't remember anything of her past. She truly hoped that she would regain her memory and quickly, she didn't want to feel like a burden on anyone "You're called Echo?" she asked as if she was trying to make sure that she was getting it right. "I'm sorry that I don't remember you Echo." she said feeling ashamed. [break][break] She watched as he walked towards her, she observed how he removed his hand from his weapons and held them up to show that he was no threat to her. She was still cautious about him getting close to her but her legs wouldn't move even if she wanted to try and run from him. So far in this horrible place he had been the only thing she had come across that hadn't instantly tried to kill her so she saw that as some sort of progress. "Hinota? Is that my name?" she asked him she really was clueless at the moment, she had to rely upon what she was being told was truthful because she wouldn't know any different. He again explained that they did know each other and he had no idea how she got there but he was there to save her and take her home. [break][break] She smiled when he said that he was there to save her, that he would take her from this dark and terrible place back to her home. "My mana signature?" she had no idea what that was but she was glad he had been able to track it or she would still be wandering around in a scared panic. It was strange as she watched him zone out a bit but she guessed this place also played mind games on people who were strong. It was only a few seconds before he seemed to have come back around to his senses and taken the last few steps to be right in front of her. She smiled in return to his gentle one, she was so happy to see a kind face for a change that she didn't question it, even if she could how would she know the difference. [break][break] She gasped a little in surprise shaking as her hand was taken, she hadn't been expecting it, her body tensed as she wanted to cry again but his words came like a soothing melody. His other hand went to the back of her head making her whimper in pain, her head was still tender thanks to the injury she had sustained "I... it hurts Echo..." her voice showed the pain she was feeling at that moment thanks to her injury, she knew he was trying to comfort her so didn't want to make to big a fuss out of it but knew he'd need to know if there was anything wrong. "My fiance? What's that?" she was so confused she was having to learn terminologies again and felt like he'd hate her for not remembering "Is it important?" she'd ask biting her bottom lip lightly hoping she hadn't forgotten something important. [break][break] His words seemed to be genuine as he said he was so happy that he hadn't lost her and that she couldn't understand how much. He was right she didn't know because she wasn't him, her hand went to his arm gently holding it as she cried into his chest. This felt familiar but strange at the same time but she just put it down to not remembering fully. "Please Echo, I want to go home. My family must be worried." she had no idea just how long she had been gone she remembered nothing of her family, for all she knew she could have been an orphan. For now, she just felt happy and safe knowing that she was getting out of this terrible place and would never have to come back to it or so she thought. "E... Echo, what is this place? How did you know I'd be here?" she'd ask trying to gain more information.

[break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] Hinota would repeat Echo’s name after he said it quietly, almost as if she was confused or unsure. She would then ask him was he called Echo, before following it by saying that she did not remember him. Echo would look almost as if he too was shocked but this was all just a ruse, as he had already caught on to what was going on and he was actually very satisfied with what was going on. Echo had lost control of himself to his inner demon and now Hinota would be the first victim of this monster. [break][break] Back within the inner sanctum of Echo’s mind, he still tried to regain control of his body from his dark half Eclipse. Echo would charge at Eclipse while yelling “I WONT LET YOU DO WHAT YOU WANT WITH MY BODY!” Eclipse would laugh at the notion of what Echo was saying, and just as the youth would come within range he would grab Echo by the throat choking him. He stared the boy in the eyes as he squeezed tight on his throat saying “Your body? Are you serious? You create me and then won’t even share? Thats like a father not feeding his son… well in this case its like a brother not feeding his younger brother. You need to learn what its like to be on top of the world for once. All our life we have been 2nd best but starting today we can rise up and above the rest.” [break][break] Echo would tap the male’s arm as he was finding it hard to breathe, an action which prompted Eclipse to release his grip. Echo took in a large breath before saying “Hmmm you might be right… but what makes you think you can get the results that I can’t?” Eclipse would laugh devilishly before saying is “Its easy! I’ll get the results because me and you are the same people but we are far from the same. You take the rule book and cross out and ignore what you don’t like, meanwhile I take a blank book and write my own rules! All our enemies and anyone who stands in our way, we can take them all down. Just have faith in me! Have faith in yourself im here because of you! You knew you couldn’t tame the darkness within yourself so you gave it a whole part of your mind dedicated to keeping it in check. I am that part of your mind so let me guide us…” his words trailed off. [break][break] Echo would scoff before he would point at Eclipse and say “Fine I’ll let you show what you can do, but don’t you do anything too crazy.” Eclipse would then smile at Echo before he would once again regain control of Echo’s body. On the outside it would only be a matter of seconds yet again and it would seem as if Echo had just zoned out again. At this point Echo was holding Hinota’s injured head as she would begin to whine almost as she said it hurt. He would then let go of her head before saying “Im so sorry my love! We should get you home immediately, we need a doctor to look at your head… wait no you can heal yourself right darling?” It was at this moment Echo remembered that she had lost probably almost all memory, and judging from her reaction to him speaking about mana signatures she didn’t remember much if anything about magic. [break][break] Echo would listen as Hinota asked what a fiancé was and was it important before saying “Yeah its kinda important haha. It means we are going to get married, and that means we will spend the rest of our lives together. It must sound like a lot but it will make sense once we get you out of here.” After not much time Hinota would say how she wanted to hurry and leave as she figured her family would be worried. Echo would smile before saying “No they aren’t worried because your family is right here in front of you… I know you don’t remember this Hinota but you are an orphan, meaning you have no family. You told me they left you as a kid, my family adopted you as a preteen. And if you meant the rest of my family then they aren’t worried because they knew I would bring you back!” Echo would let off a smile to Hinota right before she asked how he knew she would be here. Echo simply would say “I told you I tracked your mana. Oh yeah right, mana is your magic energy its unique to each person.” As he said this he would stoop down low so that Hinota could climb on his back before looking at her and saying “Well we won’t get home sitting here right?”
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She had said his name to herself softly as if she was hoping for something to trigger a memory but nothing came, she would have understood if the other believed that she was trying to play him. The issue was, it wasn't within her nature to play such cruel tricks on people, after all, she had gotten hurt by the fact he disliked her for her chosen profession. That didn't really matter right now as she didn't remember anything, the mantle around her shoulders would be the only telltale sign of that but even then she didn't remember what the mantle meant or why it was so important. In honesty, she hadn't really noticed the blood-covered mantle given the fact she had been running for her life while trying to find a way out of the darkness and somewhere safe. Her forest green eyes showed a child-like innocence showing this was the real deal.
She would look up to the red-haired man, he seemed to be looking out into the darkness of the area for a few long seconds. It actually worried her and it showed on her face "E... Echo... are you... are you alright? You were staring into space again. Are we... are we in danger?" she whispered gently almost afraid that something would be jumping out at them at any moment. She remembered nothing about her magic or that she could even cast it. She smiled weakly as his hand came from her sore head, she knew he couldn't have known that it hurt and so didn't hold it against him, he was there to save her so even if he had known she wouldn't hold it against him. He was worried about her after all and had come all this way to find her, it was sweet. [break][break] She had no idea it was just by complete chance he happened to be in the same place at the same time after being disqualified from the magic knight exams. "It's okay, you didn't know. I would love to return home so I could see the doctor, perhaps they could tell me what's wrong with my head and memory." she said saddened that she couldn't remember much "Heal myself?" she seemed genuinely puzzled by that statement "I don't think I know first aid and if I did... I don't think I'd be of much help now." she said looking down ashamed, it frustrated her that she didn't know the smallest thing about herself or what she was able to do. She just wanted to break down cry and scream due to this whole situation but what good would that do for her at the end of the day. [break][break] Her eyes went wide as he explained what a fiance was and what it was to mean for them "You... you're a stranger to me Echo... I... I couldn't possibly marry you right now." she said she was timid as she spoke those words afraid that she would hurt him, she would hope that he would give her some time to remember things and would help her remember things that she had lost. "It... it is overwhelming, I can't deny it." she wished she could say that she wasn't feeling overwhelmed but she would be lying if she did. She was surprised to hear that her family wouldn't be worried about her as her family was right there, it honestly confused her. She guessed that it was because they were engaged to be married that they would view each other in such a way but then he spoke more clarifying the situation. [break][break] He told her that she was in fact an orphan who had been abandoned when she was a child and his own family had taken her in before she became a teenager. "Then I'm thankful I have been taken care of." tears of admiration and happiness fell from her eyes as she looked at the man before her, she didn't know where she'd be if it wasn't for him or his family. "I'm sorry that I worried you all. I have no idea how I ended up in here, I don't feel like it is a place I would walk into willingly." she said looking around at the broken hovering buildings and other rubble, shivering in fear as to what this place must have been like before what it is now. "This place is very hostile. People aren't people and you can't trust your senses... why does a place like this even exist?" she asked more to herself than him. [break][break] "I remember you saying you tracked me but not how." she said gently listening to him describing how she was tracked in more detail "O... oh... I... I see." she bit her lip "I... I don't know if I can do that kind of thing, perhaps I should try and learn." she said thoughtfully, she wanted to be a bit more independent while not landing in such a situation again or having him worried to the point he had to come searching for her. "What do you think? Is it... is it a good idea?" she would ask hoping for his approval for now she had to rely on his best judgement for such matters. She watched what he did before biting her lip "You... want to carry me on your back?" she asked, finally looking at her clothing. "I don't think my clothing would allow for me to be carried in such a way." she noticed just how long and flowy it was finally "What am I wearing?" She believed it was pretty but it was far from functional, perhaps she didn't travel much but she didn't know.

Kikka is a town known to be the defensive foot-hold for the Clover Kingdom, it is the town that sits in the grey area of what could be considered the noble region and the common region. It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. Of course, being young he didn't understand what she was getting at. [break][break] The woman's husband attempted to teach the street smart and somewhat rough male his craft. He, of course, got bored real quickly because crafting jewellery was a slow process that often was very detail orientated. Still, the man tried. On the day the fire mage was scheduled to leave Kikka for the exams the man called the young mage into his workshop. [break][break] He was just finishing up a double ring set and told him to put every wish and promise he could into a single flame and release it onto the ring. Somewhat sceptical the fire mage did what he was asked and thought it was for some sort of trinket for the woman that had helped him grow. The man placed the ring into a box and handed it to the budding mage. [break][break] "Valo, we see you as our son and we are proud to see the man you've grown into. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." ❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] As Echo was talking to Hinota and he had once again spoke to the dark side of his mind, in the real world he would be staring off into space yet again. The act of the red head staring off would cause Hinota to sound somewhat concerned but luckily Echo would snap back to his proper mind within a few short seconds. Just after Hinota asked if he was ok the red head would smile and laugh a bit before saying “Yeah im great! Im just a bit tired and I thought I seen something over there in the distance. No worries though I was just imagining things we are perfectly fine.” [break][break] After Echo had assured Hinota that he was okay, she would speak saying how she would love to return home and potentially see a doctor to figure out what was wrong with her memory. Echo would nod his head in agreeing to her statement before she would look puzzled by the notion of her healing herself. Echo would chuckle a bit before saying “Yeah you probably don’t remember that you can use magic to do things… its ok im gonna get you home and we will get you the help you need!” [break][break] Echo would go on talking to explain in detail what their relationship to each other was, and to little surprise Hinota had no knowledge of it. The girl’s eyes would widen she would say how Echo was a stranger to her right now and that she couldn’t marry him. Echo’s face would turn very plain and stoic before he would say to her “We don’t need to worry about any of that right now. The only thing I care about now is your health and safety, so we must get you home!” [break][break] Hinota would then speak saying that she was sorry for worrying Echo and his family, she also stated how she had no clue how she got here. Echo had a feeling as to how she ended up here, as it was most likely similar as to how he ended up here. “This place… it speaks to the darkness inside of everyone. Some people’s darkness is greater than others and that’s the factor that draws people in… This place isn’t for people like you, you must have been going thru a hard time and the darkness spoke to those negative thoughts within you. I honestly don’t know, im merely speculating at this point. As for why this place exist… this is what we call a grand magic zone. The magic in the air is heavier than what we are used to so everything around here is very different. So different that the logic of even our magical world does not even apply here.” [break][break] Echo would then explain how he was able to track her down before he would lower himself for Hinota to get on his back so he could carry her to safety. Hinota would point out how her dress may be too long for such an action to which Echo would sigh as he thought about it. “Yeah you might be right that hanfu is pretty long… well guess we will have to do this the other way around, come lay in my arms and I’ll carry you that way. It will take a bit more out of me but I gotta get you to safety some way some how.” Echo would stand back up but only halfway as he used his lower positioning to grab Hinota’s legs and began to scoop her into his arms. The red head expected some for of twitch or resistance as he knew Hino was not used to being touched, and even with her lost memory he was sure she would still not be completely comfortable with it. [break][break] As Echo scooped Hino into his arms he would say to her “We will be home in no time, I promise. Once we are there I will put you down. Hopefully you don’t get sick or anything I remembered the first time I carried Zeus like this he said I went to fast and he threw up after haha.” Just as he finished his words the action of picking he up would be complete, he even made sure to slightly tuck the bottom of her hanfu to ensure it didn’t expose her in any way as he ran. Echo would activate his physical reinforcement spell which would increase his speed greatly. As the spell’s white light aura surrounded the two of them Echo would look to Hinota as he held her in his arms and said “Ok we are good to go! Are you ready to get away from this vile place my darling?”
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] The flower mage listened to what was being said to her and smiled accepting his reasoning for the blank stare. She could understand being tired, as far as she knew he had been out for hours tracking his wayward fiance only to find her in the terrible place she found herself in. "I'm sorry you got tired looking for me Echo, I'm guessing I don't go out too much on my own." she believed it was the only way she would have ended up in such an awful place "I am glad you are well otherwise." she said her voice soft as she spoke, her own words to her seemed distant and the ringing in her ears was terrible but she guessed the reason for that was her head injury. When he said he was also staring off because he thought he saw something she flinched and quickly moved towards him in fear. [break][break] When he said that it was nothing it didn't put her anymore at ease, she couldn't sense anything at all even though he seemed to be quite adept at it. Something about the dark just seemed to bring out a primal fear in her, she couldn't remember why just she felt there wasn't a good reason for it. "This place seems to have a speciality for making people seem at ease before stripping it away or just not allowing them to feel safe at all" she bit her lip looking down knowing it had happened to her quite a lot while she was still wandering around looking for help. "Perhaps you can help me learn so I won't be so defenceless Echo?" she asked her voice almost pleading for him to agree, at the end of the day for all she knew he may have tried in the past and it hadn't gone well but there was no harm in asking. [break][break] "I can use magic to do things?" she was so puzzled by his words, she couldn't exactly call him a liar as he remembered things where she was pretty much an empty bowl at this point. She needed to trust him at least for now as he was offering to help and had done nothing to harm her, he had only shown concern for her well-being since they met and it seemed completely genuine. "Thank you so much. I want to get away from this place, anywhere is better than here." she said holding onto his arm lightly almost for comfort. She was just showing how delicate of a person she truly was before she had taken her oath as a magic knight, she hadn't even noticed the Golden Dawn mantle around her shoulders that was currently stained with her blood. [break][break] She shook her head to that looking around the debris and dead tree ridden area "I don't think I was drawn here by the darkness as I seem to have a fear of it." she said holding onto her sleeves lightly, it was a mannerism she had when she was her usual self when she was unsettled, anxious or doubting herself. "I will have to look into it when I recover some, but, if I'm normally escorted I more than likely got lost after wandering on my own." she said trying to lighten the mood a little. She really hoped she hadn't gotten separated from her escort and gotten lost, she would have felt terrible having someone being punished for her mistake. Right now, she hoped there was some good reason she was in there and why she had hurt her head but she put that down to the place itself. [break][break] The doll-like mage tilted her head a little as she was informed that this place wasn't meant for someone like her, she had to wonder if he actually believed that she had been lured in here due to her own darkness. "A hard time?" she repeated her eyes closing as if she was trying to force a memory but everything was coming up blank "I... I... I don't remember anything like that Echo. Did I speak of anything to you about such things? Surely, if I was having a hard time I would have spoken to you about it as my fiance." she would have thought if she was troubled she would have spoken to someone about it, but then she guessed everyone had their own secrets, this could have been one of her secrets which was lost to the aether currently. [break][break] She listened as the red head spoke about grand magic zones, she didn't know why but this one felt familiar and not in a good way. It filled her with anxiety, fear and sadness. Within reason she could understand the first two but the last one she didn't understand why it felt like her heart was breaking but somehow it did. "Seems like an interesting subject, perhaps I was trying to study the place." she said trying to think of any logical reason to be inside such a terribly vile place filled with misery and sorrow by what she could see. He took into consideration her clothing after she mentioned it "Hanfu?" it seemed like a foreign word to her which would be ironic at least to Echo as he knew the truth of her background and the family she came from. "Do I usually wear them?" she asked out of curiosity. [break][break] She bit her bottom lip lightly as he said that he would have to do it another way and it would tire him a bit more "I don't want to be a burden to you Echo, we could just walk." she suggested to him, she didn't want to make him any more drained than he may have been attempting to find her. Soon enough she would get an answer she wasn't expecting as she was scooped up bridal style she instinctively flinched as if expecting to be hurt, her breathing becoming faster as if she was panicked. She had no idea why she was acting in such a way, surely they must have touched a lot when she could remember. All she could put it down to was the fact that she didn't remember and so he was a stranger to her. "I... I'm sorry for my reaction..." she just hoped he'd understand and not feel insulted. [break][break] When he assured her they would be home safely soon she nodded wrapping her arms around his neck for support and comfort to know that she was safe and she wouldn't be separated from him. "Thank you for taking such good care of me, I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't have found me." she was shaking in his arms as she spoke the last part of her sentence, she was frightened of this place that much was clear. "I'm sure I can handle it as we've done this many times right?" she was buying into his deception hook, line and sinker but there was no one there to tell her otherwise so again she could only go off of the information she has been given. "Its also sweet you take care of my modesty." she said with a light blush as she noticed him tucking the bottom of the hanfu. [break][break] She watched as he seemed to light up a bit and tilted her head, she was about to ask if that was magic when he interrupted her train of thought to ask if she was ready to get away from the darkness. She placed his head on his chest and nodded "Yes my love, please take me home where its safe." her voice was gentle and soft, her heart felt odd as she spoke those words. She didn't understand it, she didn't know what it was but her heart felt hurt. 'Perhaps its because I don't remember my love for him that it doesn't feel right; over time I'm sure it'll fix itself... I shouldn't pay it any mind.' she thought to herself, he was being kind to her and as far as she knew and understood he had been looking for her and had done nothing but help her so had no reason to doubt him or his motives. Surely, if she had a family or someone that cared for her then they would have been searching for her like he had been so what he said had to be the truth... right?

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] As Echo scooped up Hinota into his arms, he felt her breathing rate increase along with her shaking a bit. Thee two things were almost programmed into her so even with her lost memory he knew that it wouldn’t change and so he did not think much of it. As Echo prepared himself to take off running with her Hinota still tried to figure out a logical reason as to why she would end up in a place like this, to which Echo would reply by saying “Yeah you do normally have an escort but I guess he was busy being lazy again, don’t worry though me and him will have a very stern talking once we get back.” Echo would then back track a bit after she thanked him for trying to keep her modest by tucking the bottom of the hanfu. He would smile a bit and chuckle saying “A hanfu is a piece of clothing from another land outside of clover. You wear them because they come from the land of your birth… however you don’t wear them much, only during special occasions.” [break][break] As he would begin to light up due to his magic she would tilt her head almost as if she was surprised, but after he thought for a second he realized that of course she was surprised. Everything felt brand new to her, and he was going to have to show her the world all over again. After he asked her if she was ready to go she would reply saying yes and that she was ready to get away from the darkness of the grand magic zone. Echo would reply by saying that “You are already safe my darling, whenever you are within the reach of my light you are always safe. Just remember try to keep your eyes closed, you aren’t used to this kind of speed so the wind impact might bother your eyes. Also it helps if you dont open your mouth too much as I have had a bad time or two with a bug trying to fly into my mouth haha.” The light he was referring to was the light that his magic would make, and just after he said this he would begin to run full speed, heading towards the exit of the grand magic zone. [break][break] As he ran he would speak to Hinota in regards to her question about teaching her sensory saying “About what you said earlier… you wanna learn how to track people? I could teach you but sensory abilities are probably the hardest to learn out of all the magic types. It definitely will take time but you are stronger than me so I suppose it might be easier on you. But lets not think about that too much right now, we can use this time of us getting home for me to refresh your memory. So anything you wanna know ask away!” Surprisingly the deception was working very well, and if things continued to go this good Echo would surely brainwash Hinota. [break][break] As Echo carried Hinota out of the area, he and Eclipse would have another conversation within their shared mind. This time they were able to do so without their body ceasing to move, instead the red head would look like he was running and staring straight ahead as normal. “See look my first day out and im already doing things to benefit you! When is the last time someone did something like this to help you Echo?” Eclipse would say as he laughed and smiled. Echo would scoff before saying “I don’t even like this plan too much, I don’t agree to manipulating someone I care for in such a way.” Eclipse would look at him before saying “Well that’s too bad, but it doesn’t matter because IM the one driving this boat now so you will have to just sit and watch!” And back to reality they went, just in time to hear whatever questions Hinota would have about her past, or the world around them in general. [break][break]
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She didn't want to shake or have her breathing increased while in his arms, she felt guilty that she had done both. She made a mental note to work on it, she was sure it was something she could overcome with his help if they did things like this while her memory was returning. She was sure it would spark something, it had to she didn't want to live not knowing her past and only finding out about it through another party ad even then it would have holes in it. For now, it was what would have to do "Did I normally act like this in your embrace?" she asked wanting to know if it was just because of her lack of memory or if it was actually an instinctual trait of hers. If it was the former then they could work in getting her over such a hurdle but if it was the latter and they had been with each other for a while then there was no chance of it changing. [break][break] "I hope I haven't got them into to much trouble." she said, even with her memory gone it was clear she was still a gentle and caring young woman to those around her. "I'm sure it was my fault so there's no need to tell them off." she was hoping to spare the person in question from punishment, little did she knew that at current such a person never existed. She looked down however as she fully took in what Echo had said "They abandon me often?" she asked wondering if this hadn't been the first time then why was the person still in charge of looking after her when she left the estate. Then again she had no idea if she had slipped out or not so she could be completely at fault, she just didn't know. [break][break] She listened as she was given a very basic explanation of her clothing and how it came from a land outside Clover and it was part of her heritage. "I don't come from here?" she asked him, it was true her skin tone was different and even how she sounded from him was far different, especially when pronouncing certain letters. "I was abandoned here by my parents and your family took me in..." she whispered remembering part of the conversation from earlier as if she was putting the two pieces together. She guessed it made complete sense, she would have been in a land where she didn't understand the language and everything was foreign to her. She was just happy that his family had been kind enough to take pity on her and raised her when they could have just walked on. [break][break] She did have many more questions about that but right now wasn't the time for it. "I only wear these for special occasions?" she questioned looking at her clothing once more "I was going to a special occasion and ended up here..." she bit her lip a bit and shook her head "S... surely I... I'd have waited for you..." she seemed somewhat distressed that this was something important to them both that she had tried to go to but got lost. "Please tell me I didn't ruin something for our engagement, I would feel terrible." she was being sincere on that, she would have never wanted such a thing. She didn't know the material she was wearing or how expensive the hanfu she was wearing was but she could tell it was expensive and if it was meant for that reason then she was sure people were not only worried but angry that money had been wasted. [break][break] She smiled happily and seemed at peace when he said when she was touched by his light she was always safe and protected, something about this again felt familiar but off at the same time. She could only chalk that up to the same reasoning as everything else, she was scared and had no memory so like everything else she had pushed it to the side. She nodded and closed her eyes and curled more into him as if to protect herself from the harsh air that was about to come her way. "B... bugs?!" she seemed horrified at the notion of having bugs inside her mouth and just turned her head more into him taking in the forest like scent his clothing seemed to carry on it, she had to guess they lived near one or he trained there but didn't know for certain. [break][break] Without so much as another word they were on their way to exit the vile grand mana zone of shadow quickly, he spoke to her making her bring down one of her arms from around his neck and using the sleeve to protect her eyes and mouth from the wind "I didn't know how to do so before?" she asked but then given she couldn't navigate this place at all it kind of spoke for itself, she couldn't even get the lay of the land on an instinctual level. "I don't want to keep you worrying about me, so it is handy to find my way home." she said with a guilty tone biting her bottom lip, she didn't want to rely on people to be able to do basic things. She felt as if someone important to her would be disappointed if she did that. [break][break] She didn't know if it was someone else that she had been close to or Echo himself all she knew was that she wanted to get better, she wanted to be able to rely on herself and not be a burden to others. She had a feeling that she had been or was at least viewed as such for a long time and she wanted to prove that she could do things on her own. "Strength doesn't always translate to skill, it might take me a long time to understand." she said knowing that was the truth especially since she was having to start from the ground up on her own life and magic if what he said was true about the latter. She nodded as he was wanting to change the subject, for now, she wasn't about to force it as she believed he was doing it for her own good. "How old were we when we first met?" she asked not even realizing that he was starting out as he wasn't missing a beat, she guessed starting at the beginning was the best course of action and so that as many blanks could be filled in as possible.

It is due to this that there is a diverse range of people and backgrounds that called this place home. [break][break] A young fire mage found himself getting into trouble when he decided to steal some vegetables from a garden of jewellers. You've helped create something that is unique and special, keep it with you and give it to someone that you believe deserves what you put into it." [break][break] The now young man gave bravado with his normal attitude but took the ring. He held onto it for three years until something terrible happened. The family that he had loved so much was taken from him. The one that had seen him at his most vulnerable and had helped him through the grief was a young woman. A woman who themselves couldn't fight due to their beliefs. [break][break] He remembered the ring from all those years ago and offered it to her, telling her if she was ever in danger just to call him and he'd come running.

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] The first thing Hino would ask Echo was if she always acted like this within his embrace, to which Echo would reply saying “Of course not my darling, its probably because this all must seem very new to you. Have no fear though like I said, you can’t put all your discomforts and insecurities to the side when you are with me. I will give whatever to see you happy and well….” His words would trail off. He would then look away for a second taking a small pause before speaking again saying “Im sure you will get over it in time, once this feels normal. We did grow up together so im sure it will come back soon.” Of course all of this was a lie, but it was working so far. Echo had to hammer home all the foundations of his brainwashing, so that soon everything around Hino would feel so real that she would never doubt him or even believe she had another life if she was to ever find out. [break][break] Hino would then speak saying how she hope she didn’t get her escort in trouble, causing Echo to laugh saying “Nah I was kidding to be honest you kinda wander off a lot. Usually we find you at market stalls and boutiques, not a grand magic zone though haha that’s a new one. But we will all talk about it later he’ll probably just apologize and we will all laugh about it or something.” Of course nobody would truly be punished because nobody within Echo’s circle was ever truly escorting her. [break][break] Her next question was regarding her place of origin. Echo had already told her that she was not originally from Clover and had no intention on lying about such a fact. During his samurai training Zeus instilled the importance of one being proud of their homeland as it is usually where they learn and grow into who they are meant to become. “Yeah you aren’t from here… nobody knew exactly were when we adopted you but my cousin Zeus who is your escort believes you are from a neighboring country to his homeland. You both speak the same language… well you did I don’t know if you will remember how to speak it now because of your memory.” As the conversation went on Echo could tell this was truly no act. Everything about her right now was totally jumpy and scattered, even the way she asked questions was all over the place. [break][break] The next thing she would ask was regarding the hanfu, repeating what Echo had said to her but in question format. She would then say how she was going to a special occasion without Echo and stating she knew that she would have waited for him. Echo would then say “You weren’t supposed to be with me my darling… I had went to the magic knight entrance exams, we were supposed to meet after to celebrate which is why you were dressed up…” his words trailed off again as he took a pause in his speech. He would then begin talking again but his voice noticeably more darker and angrier as he would say “Sadly, I guess I didn’t make the cut! They disqualified me from the exam all because I tried to show them my true strength and battle intelligence!” Thinking about the exams in general made him angry and stressed, it made him wanna smoke a cigarette. However doing so while running and carrying Hino would prove troublesome, not only that but he also recalled Hinota not liking the smell of them. Even though she had lost her memory the dislike of cigarette smells is something instinctual and he knew that would probably never change, and so he decided to leave them alone while in her presence. [break][break] Just as Echo was about to take off Hino seemed very bothered by the thought of bugs flying into them as they ran. Echo didn’t understand the logic behind it but it seemed like the bugs would burn up when they headed directly for him, but passengers always had a different reaction for some reason. He thought it was rather cute how Hino reacted though. The two would then speak about Hino trying to learn sensory again, even if just for the simple use of getting home safely. Echo would smile before saying “Sure we can try again! But no backing out this time ok?” [break][break] It was at this point when Hino would finally ask what Echo would consider an important question. She would ask the male how old were they when they first met, which would cause Echo to go silent for a second as he thought of the best possible answer. He would look down to her within his arms as he ran saying to her “I was 6 and you were 5 if I remember correctly or we might have been 7 and 6… I don’t know off the top of my head to be honest, it just has felt like a happy lifetime to me.” He finished his words with a big smile to show how happy he was about their made up time together. As they spoke Echo would keep running as fast as his legs and his magic would take him, as he was in a rush wanting to make sure Hinota got the attention she needed since she could not heal herself right now.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] She looked down almost ashamed once more that she was acting in such a way, she knew it wasn't her fault but she at the same time believed it was. The doll-like mage could only smile faintly at his later words but did notice that they trailed off, it confused her as to why he would do such a thing. She didn't comment on it, she didn't want to offend him any further than she may have already due to her memory loss. "I guess your right, when I start remembering things it'll likely feel less off and I won't flinch." she said with an honest tone, she meant everything she was saying to him after he had saved her from the darkness that wanted to kill her, he was her fiance and most of all he knew her best from what she could tell. She wasn't even taking it with a pinch of salt as she didn't believe he was deceiving her. [break][break] "I'm sure you make me plenty happy." she said with a smile, she was attempting to show that she was looking to a brighter future where she had regained her memories, that she wasn't doubting his words and she liked to believe that he did in fact make her happy and secure. She nodded again "I'm sure this is just sent as a trial to test our relationship, we'll get through this together." she said with a loving tone, she was still unsure how she truly felt over this but she was at least going to give it a try. If they were happy together once then this would be nothing more than a small bump in their road to happiness but it would also tell her if they were truly meant to be together or not. [break][break] She didn't want to ask what if this wasn't meant to be to him, she feared she would anger him and he would either drop her then and there or take her back to that dark void. She knew he said she had been taken in by his family and she guessed his parents likely wanted them to become like brother and sister but their bond hadn't formed that way. That they had formed one of friendship leading into romance, of course, she could have been wrong about the entire situation. She just didn't know enough and some things she was reluctant to ask about for fear of reprisal. She had no idea that he was setting a foundation for a fake life she never had so she would never question him, or believe that she had another even if she was to be fully confronted about it. [break][break] "I'm sure it will, especially with you helping me along the way." her voice was soft as always, she had to admit she raised it just a little thanks to the air moving past her ears. She really wasn't used to moving at such fast speeds as far as she knew, she nodded glad to hear that the person who was escorting her wouldn't get into trouble but felt ashamed that she wandered on her own often. "I... I'm sorry I cause issues." she sounded genuine when she spoke, she looked down and bit her lip "I'll do better I promise." she didn't want to have him or others searching to try and find her all the while worrying if she was alive, injured or even worse dead. "You must have been so worried." she felt guilty that she caused a fuss, she made a note to be more careful in the future. [break][break] "Market stalls and boutiques?" she repeated as if she was trying to have it help jog a memory but nothing was coming "I enjoy shopping?" she honestly couldn't remember, but if she did she also didn't remember why. Right now, it just seemed beyond boring and super materialistic but upon feeling the fabric of her hanfu she could tell she had expensive tastes but she guessed that may have been due to how previous life before the one with Echo and his family. She didn't want to be a financial burden to them, she couldn't remember if she helped in any way and if she did, it wasn't like she could do it now since she didn't remember things. She felt she was bringing unneeded weight to the family that had apparently cared for her since she was a child, she looked up to him for a moment before looking down. [break][break] "I don't want to be a burden to you or anyone else in any way..." her voice was meek as she spoke "If I am going to be one please stop and set me down, I'll figure something out going forward." she was thankful for all the help he had apparently given her over the years and even now helping her from the shadow grand mana zone. She was shaking at the thought of being alone but she would rather that than allow his family to fall into ruin because of her. She knew that he would try and reassure her and put her mind at ease but there would still be that doubt at current moving forward, at least until he got some of her memories back. She was afraid. Everything was so new to her, even the things that apparently shouldn't be so was being cautious. [break][break] When he said they would talk about it later and that the person in question would likely apologise before everyone just laughing about it, she couldn't help but look uncomfortable. "It was my fault so they would have no reason to apologise." her voice was so faint, she truly believed that she had done something wrong and so she should be the one called out for it, not her supposed guardian. She looked up as he explained more, that it was his cousin that was her guardian and that before Zeus had informed them of her potential origin no one actually knew. What surprised her more was she was able to speak more than one language. "I'll need to study if I've forgotten how to do that, it may trigger those memories." she said with a bit of a warmer tone but then something was confusing to her. [break][break] "Why is your cousin the one escorting me and not a guard?" she would think that the family would be enjoying their lives and have members of staff to do such jobs. Then again she believed that every family was different, she bit her lip and touched her head as she felt a bit dizzy "Some families have their branches as protectors, it instils trust and strength within a family." she said almost as if she had remembered something she had been taught as a child. All she had was a sense of warmth from the words, whoever told her such a thing meant a lot to her, she was quite sure of it. She could almost hear the voice clearly but it was muffled so all she could tell was it was a male and by the accent, it wasn't Echo, she thought it may have been his cousin after all he was from a neighbouring country to where she was originally from or so it was believed. [break][break] "The magic knight entrance exams?" she seemed puzzled but she sensed his anger and shrunk away from any other discussion on it, it was clear that he was far from happy about the thing they were to be celebrating afterwards. Her hand moved up and caressed his cheek lightly as he spoke about being disqualified for showing his strength and prowess "Then that is their loss and my gain because I will have you all to myself." she said trying to cheer him up, a bright smile on her face. She had no idea she was one of the people he seemed to hate so much with just how caring he was being towards her, then again she hadn't even noticed her mantle the entire time she had been without her memory. [break][break] She looked to him tilting her head as he said that they could try again but she couldn't back out as she had done before. "We tried before but I gave up?" she looked down at that, was that the kind of person she truly was? That she would give up if she got frustrated, annoyed or scared. It didn't seem right to her "You have as much right as anyone else to be here..." she whispered to herself, those words filled her with a different kind of warmth, her cheeks pinking a bit though she didn't understand why. "I... I'm not the type to give up, at least I don't think I am." she said looking at him "When did we try to do this? When we were children?" she would ask, she knew that people changed and developed over time so was hoping he would say that it was when they were kids. [break][break] She kept her eyes on him as he thought over her last question, to her this seemed normal especially if they had known each other for years as he claimed. She nodded to his answer and smiled "I'm sure it has been a blessed lifetime together, but, how old are we now?" given that she didn't know who either of them were when they had met again, the chances of her knowing their ages was non-existent "Also, are there any places other than grand mana zones I shouldn't wander or am afraid of?" she asked him, she believed he must know her fears so this may help her remember things along the way. The pain from her head was becoming increasingly painful and so she whimpered moving her hand to her head "How much longer?" she asked her voice small as she was trying to keep the volume done to prevent any unneeded pain

❝My light [break]is brighter [break]than the sun!❞
[attr="class","echotemp] Hinota said to Echo that she was sure this was just a trial to test their relationship, those words rang in his head for a moment. On the inside he had to take all of his efforts to not outright laugh. He knew he was playing her like an instrument and he would carry this act until the very end if he could. He always wanted Hinota, he found he beautiful from the first day he saw her. Now he finally had what he wanted right within his reach. [break][break] Echo would continue to run and as he did so Hinota would continue on with her barrage of questioning, Echo didn’t mind it though as he knew that she needed to know things, or so that’s what Echo thought. Instead Hinota would throw what Echo and Eclipse saw as a childish fit. This fit was spawned on by nothing more than her own thoughts, as she believed herself to be a burden because Echo said she runs off a lot. One would think she must have lost her sense to read people, as it should have been obvious that he was not upset about her running off… but of course nobody would be upset about something that wasn’t real or true. [break][break] While Hinota was sounding off, Echo would remain silent up until she had finished. “I'll figure something out going forward.” Hinota would say and after that Echo would speak saying “Stop looking at yourself like you’re a problem or burden. You are just a regular girl doing regular girl things. And maybe we can have a talk about giving you more time alone without a guard.” Moving on forward to a more positive note Hinota would begin to say how if she knew more than one language that she should study in hopes of relearning them. Echo would have liked for her to get some parts of her old life back seeing as he was about to take it all away, and so he would offer his hand in helping her by saying “I will help in any way I can my darling.” [break][break] Shortly after that she would ask why is it that Echo’s cousin was guarding her and not an actual guard. For someone who didn’t know any better the question wasn’t odd in the slightest, as it would make more sense to have actual security detail for a family of such high wealth and status. However before Echo could give the reasoning, Hinota would begin to spew out the reasoning randomly as if it had came from her inner thoughts, behind whatever memory blocking wall made by her injury. Echo would take note of this thinking to himself *Hmmm so she can somehow still pull memories from her past life, when approached with a proper trigger. Noted.* [break][break] When Echo began to speak about the magic knight exams, Hinota was noticeably confused but she didn’t seem to ask about it all too much. She instead must have sensed the anger coming from him and placed her hand on his cheek saying that it was their loss and her gain, because she could now have him all to her self. Echo blushed as the hand was placed on his cheek and the words began to ring into his ears. He would notice the smile upon Hinota’s face and he would smile in return. Not long after that Hinota would ask when was it that Echo had tried to teach her sensory, thinking that it happened when they were kids. While they were not anywhere near as old as they were now they also weren’t kids, at least that’s the lie Echo was about to tell. However he could tell the idea of her giving up on something was bothering her a slight bit, so he decided that he would tweak the story a bit. [break][break] “No my darling you didn’t give up, you just got busy with other things… you had started your training to become a magic knight around that time and father thought it best if you focused your efforts on the things you were already good at, that way you could make them better.” After he said this she would ask how old are they now to which Echo would say “Im 17 and you are 16. I know you may think that’s young for us to be engaged but when you grow up with someone time flows differently if you get me.” Right after Echo said those words he would sense the dark mana that filled the air beginning to thin out a bit, this was a sign that they were drawing close to the edge of the dark magical zone. Just as Echo felt the dark mana thinning he would also feel his connection to Eclipse getting weaker, almost as if he was being locked behind whatever mental barrier Echo had previously created for him. [break][break] As Echo ran in real life, he would begin to stare out into space again as he would begin a conversation with Eclipse within his mind. “You have to actually give me control kid, if not I won’t be able to act outside of the grand magic zone.” Echo would look at his dark doppelgänger before saying “Better idea I get my body back and you just be a spiritual guide? I feel like I can handle living my life better than you can.” However before Eclipse could reply he would be pulled into a cell within Echo’s mind where he would then be stuck, this would be due to the fact Echo had made it to the outer edge of the magic zone and Eclipse no longer had enough power to interact with him in any way other than speaking. [break][break] Snapping back to reality Echo would look to his surroundings to see that he and Hinota were now out of the vile magic zone, well for the most part. And even with them being out of the magic zone they still had a bit of a ways to go to get to the Jaegar Estate. When he came back to his senses he was still running, its a surprise he hadn’t run into anything while doing so. He would look down at Hinota and could tell she was in more and more pain due to her head injury. He would say to her as he ran “No worries my love, we will be there soon!” Just as he would say that it would seem as if another spell activated around the two and Echo’s speed would increase even more.
[attr="class","tamaflowersscroll"] Hinota remained within Echo's arms as he continued to run towards their destination. There was so much going through her mind and none of it made any sense, but without her memory, she expected that was normal. She had no idea he was playing her for a fool and that this was just a twisted delusion of the red-head that was carrying her further and further away from her true destination. She didn't know she was loved by others, that she had a family that was beyond protective of her, that she had a duty to the kingdom she called home or that she was training to take on one of the major threats the kingdom was yet facing. Had she known she may have told him to take her to her captain's estate, to her families estate or even her squad but he was keeping her completely in the dark about all that. [break][break] In fact, he had lied about her having a caring family and that they were in love. She believed him kind even when she had her memory but she would feel betrayed now if she actually knew the truth, but then, would he have really tried something like this if she was her normal self? She was glad that he was being so patient with all her constant questions, she was trying not to bother him but she shouldn't have to be acting in such a way. This was stuff she was supposed to know already but was falling flat and it was truly upsetting to her. There was nothing she could do however but relearn everything she had lost and hope those who were helping were being honest with her. She use to be good a reading people but now she took them at face value which was never a good sign. [break][break] It was then that her would-be saviour was curt with her, he told her to stop looking at herself as a problem or a burden, that she was neither. That she was just a normal young woman doing the same sort of things that normal young women do but said that perhaps they could look into giving her a bit more alone time. She shook her head, it seemed that alone time was what had her end up in the place he found her, at least by how he recounted it. "I don't know if that would be wise Echo given where I ended up." she said thoughtfully, of course, she would want personal time but if she was getting into trouble with the freedom she had currently she didn't think that gaining more would be wise. Perhaps when she learned how to get home and remembered things this may change though. [break][break] Hearing that he would help her remember her language skills made her smile, in honesty, neither of them knew if she had lost them as she had no reason to use such things currently. "Thank you, I'm sure it will prove helpful in my recovery." she said with a gentle tone, there was much on her mind that much was clear through her tone and expression. She was trying not to worry the other but there were many things she was trying to make sense herself and was sure that only she herself would be able to understand. "Echo, can I meet some of my friends when I'm well?" she would ask, she was a young woman clearly of noble birth so it was only common for her to believe she would have a circle of friends she would talk with, it would be odd if he didn't. [break][break] She brought her hand from his cheek as she saw him smile, she was glad that she could make him feel better. She would be more worried if she couldn't put him at ease, but then this felt familiar to her as if it was something she was good at and with that she would be happy for now. "I was training to become a magic knight?" she seemed somewhat surprised at his words. He had already informed her that they could both use magic and she had a blurred understanding of what a knight was. She brought up her hand to her face as she all but cutely laughed and shook her head "Surely you jest Echo, look at me. Do I look like I'd be able to pass as one of these magic knights?" she was wondering if he was trying to pull her leg on such a matter. [break][break] He told her their ages and she blinked in surprise knowing that they were engaged to be married "You are right, that is very young to be betrothed with each other." she said clenching her sleeves, she was feeling a twinge of despair as it was far too much for her to take in when she could remember next to nothing. He was a complete stranger to her currently and he is speaking of them being betrothed, her left hand went to her heart as she felt it hurt at those words, something didn't feel right but who was she to call him out on these words. All she had was emotions to go on and she was sure she'd be told that it was due to lack of memory. It was then something caught the light and drew her eyes to her fourth finger where she saw a twin ring set. [break][break] "I... is this my engagement ring?" she would ask looking up to him, she felt it was important to her, she didn't know why but she knew it was something that she would defend regardless of outcome. It was warm and she held it close to her heard and calmed as she closed her eyes, solely concentrating on it as if she was trying to remember what it meant to her but all she was getting was a shadowed figure putting it on her finger. There was speaking but it was as if they were speaking through a wind tunnel and so couldn't tell anything about it. 'No good.' she thought to herself in frustration. She had this feeling that being frustrated and upset for not remembering would be a common feeling for a good while and so tried not to dwell on it. [break][break] She looked up to him as he told her that they would be home soon and she nodded though felt dizzy instantly thanks to her head injury. "I'm glad because I think the blood loss is going to be a terrible issue if this keeps up too much longer." her voice was faint as she was currently fighting to stay awake. She knew given his speed got further he was trying to get to their destination quickly as possible due to the worry he seemed to have about her head injury. She was concerned about both their clothing getting covered in her blood, she still hadn't noticed the mantle showing she was indeed a magic knight and should likely go to her squad to tell them that she wouldn't be able to be on active duty for the foreseeable future due to her injury.

The mother of the family was the one that caught him and even told the boy and his mother that they just needed to ask due to them having more than enough. It was the beginning of a new bond between the family and the fire mage. [break][break] Over time the boy grew and where he was wanting to learn the next flashy fire move from the former purple orca. She would tell him that he needed to learn how to walk before he tried to run or those he cared about would get burned by those same flames that treasured so much.
